Bleh. Pinned post time 💥
Hi! I'm Atlas and this is where I'm very neurotypical about DetCo :)
Here's a helpful guide to the things I will probably talk about the most:
☆ My favorite clown in the whole wide world (Akai Shuuichi/Okiya Subaru)
☆ The Akai siblings in general
☆ Movie 24 <- guy who is extremely neurotypical about this thing
☆ The "Shuuichi and Conan as absolutely unhinged unofficial father and son" agenda
☆ The "Shuuichi and Jodie as the best friends they deserved to be" agenda
☆ Whiskey Trio Era 💥💥💥
☆ Whiskey Trio (OT3 edition), Scotchrye, Akam
☆ my WIPs
More info under the cut :)
Character tags!
☆ #! [character name] -> I can and will assign random posts to characters. This is how I keep track of them
☆ #subaruposting, #shuuichiposting -> I get gender envy sometimes okay. Leave me alone (explodes)
Miscellaneous tags!
☆ #yapping time -> welcome to Atlas Reading Too Much Into Irrelevant And/Or Largely Inconsequential Things (may or may not be backed by actual manga/anime screenshots) ^_^^
☆ #brainworms time -> writing tag!
☆ #my sandbox now -> general headcanons tag!
☆ #m24 my beloved -> I'm normal about this movie I promise
☆ #atlas.exe -> memes/shitposts/you name it
☆ #detco rewatch, #detco reread -> what it says on the tin
☆ #detco text posts -> meme format specific tag (I like scrolling through these :3)
List of WIP/AU tags!
☆ #detco spoilers -> recent manga chapters tag!! Beware!!
☆ #genderfuckery AU: none of the Akai siblings are cis 💚 unfortunately for everyone they have to figure that out first. Specifics are as follows:
#genderfuckery: the slut shirt fic -> Akai Shuuichi
TBD -> Haneda Shuukichi
TBD -> Sera Masumi
☆ #almost people AU: general vaguely eldritch fuckery re: various characters. Specifics are as follows:
#almost people: soliloquist -> Akai Shuuichi
TBD -> Miyano Shiho
TBD -> Vermouth
TBD -> Edogawa Conan
TBD -> Hagiwara Chihaya
☆ #amnesiac akai AU: what it says on the tin 💚 things go wrong at Raiha Pass, and Shuuichi ends up actually scarred and amnesiac, disappearing from everyone's radar— including the good guys'. He's fine though, just living his best life out there. Camel suffers as a direct consequence of this. Also, Shuuichi and Subaru are separate people here, and this may or may not be a slight crossover with something else (purely for comedic potential). No real plot tbh, but I do find it funny to build upon it from time to time
☆ #pokemon AU: also what it says on the tin 💚 originally started as me assigning teams to detco characters and immediately devolved into whiskey trio angst + general clownery. Mostly a silly little AU I occasionally write snippets for
Dynamic-specific tags!
☆ #unofficial father and son -> anything Shuuichi & Conan adjacent
☆ #the fucking akai family -> exactly what it says on the tin
☆ #we could have had it all -> Shuuichi & Jodie agenda save me
☆ #nagano gang -> exactly what it says on the tin
☆ #OTP: they keep me sane -> Yumi/Shuukichi tag
☆ #OTP: divorce of the century -> Rei/Shuuichi tag
☆ #OTP: they make me sick -> Scotch/Rye tag
☆ #OTP: literally married -> Hiro/Rei tag
☆ #OTP: insane soulmateism -> Heishin tag
‼️ Disclaimer: I use OTP very loosely here— more for tag format convenience than anything. Shipping is less important to me than you'd think.

Happy biiiiirthdaaaaay Hitsugayaaaa お誕生日おめでとう!
Would you like to start your day with tea with your vice-captain:
Presented here in my cup that in 2020 was re-christened "the Hitsugaya cup <3" and will likely remain so forevermore, and in a duck cup my co-blogger gave to me this year, and which I immediately put into fanfic as "Matsumoto's weird cup" because I absolutely love it. I would excerpt the scene, but it turns out Hinamori's thoughts about the cup are interspersed within a lot of other stuff, so just know that it's Matsumoto's Weird Duck Cup.
For lunch, can I interest you in some oyaki??
Oyaki are a regional food from Nagano, which is an interior mountain region in Japan, a few hours west of Tokyo. I've been there exactly once, but I absolutely loved it, because MOUNTAINS and SUBARU COUNTRY:
Because of this+its westerly general location+Hitsugaya and Hinamori's names I model my version of Junrinan off of it (though the main village we see is in the flatlands, not the mountains themselves). I also HC that Isshin sent Hitsugaya off to Actual Nagano for his Gotei hazing/30-day walkabout in the Living World, because he knew it would feel similar to Junrinan.
Oyaki are dumplings, traditionally cooked with irori, or those traditional square stove pits you see in the middle of people's houses in old-timey anime. I do not have one of those so I made mine the way you'd make any other dumpling, in a frying pan on a stove, frying first and then steaming. You can freeze them to re-steam later, which is what I did this weekend. These ones have miso eggplant and bamboo shoot in them, because that's what I had, though the only oyaki I have written into fanfic have pickled mustard greens in them.
I would excerpt that, but Hitsugaya is not actually in most of that scene, doesn't say a single thing when he is, and the narrating POV (Kensei) doesn't care about him. So I will instead say that in the scene, the gang is making oyaki at Matsumoto's direction, because she's a well-traveled No Reservations type who's familiar with Junrinan cooking. It's an intentional choice and an act of care, and even if no one else in the scene knows it, least of all the narrator, Hitsugaya does.
And to round out the day, an afternoon potato snack?
Yaki imo aren't particularly Hitsugaya-related, I suppose, except that it's a fall/winter thing and his birthday is just before the winter solstice, and right at that turning point. And I did write him and Orihime eating potatoes together once. *I* associate them with walking around in the woods when it's cold as shit, which in my mind is Just Junrinan Things.
So I went for a celebratory birthday potato walk on Sunday! And got lost in the woods for a while. I say this as though I didn't have an Avenza map the entire time, but the trails are often less-trail like than 'there are blazes on trees sometimes' and it took a while to re-find the blazes in the dark. I had a second emergency potato with me should I have needed it, though!

At first sight Chapter Twenty-Five
(m!reader x Bonten!Haruchiyo Sanzu)
Fluff/slash/reader is male/cursing/BontenTimeline/drugs and alcohol mentioned/violence/blood/death
All characters that appeared in the Tokyo Revengers manga and anime belong to Ken Wakui.
Words: 4600
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It wasn't until you returned to the conference room that you felt truly relieved. There were dead bodies lying on the floor in various positions, and the blood was clearly visible. You only lost two men and three others were slightly wounded, which was quite a good result compared to the total losses among the enemy's men.
You looked at the bodies of the dead prostitutes and the thought crossed your mind whether the women were there of their own free will or whether Kuroda and Nagano forced them to do so. You suddenly remembered one woman who managed to escape from the room, but as soon as you looked out the door, you saw her body lying in the corridor in a pool of blood. You saw at least two gunshot wounds on her bare, pale back. You sighed and went back inside.
Sanzu spoke to Ran in a calm tone while Rindou wiped the blood from his face with a handkerchief and tried to remove the red liquid from the sleeve of his suit with a disgusted expression.
“Job done and case closed.” Ran sighed in satisfaction.
"Not completely." Sanzu said and both Haitani brothers looked at him with raised eyebrows.
“Sato, Kuroda and Nagano are dead. We take our people and goods from the warehouse and pack up. What else is there to do?” Ran asked, not taking his eyes off the pink-haired man.
“None of them were the boss.”
"What?"
“Kuroda mentioned that someone else was in charge of them.” You explained calmly and Rindou cursed under his breath.
“Supposedly who?” Ran frowned, his violet eyes landing on you.
“Sugiyama aka Uchiyama ran straight to their said boss.” Sanzu replied, poking the body of a man with the toe of his shoe, who didn't even have time to pull up his pants before the bullets hit him. “You'll have to ask our friend about that.”
“Leave it to Hanma. He has his own ways of dealing with her.” The older Haitian snorted, shaking his head.
“The warehouse is empty. The crates are in the van.” You were interrupted by the leader of the thugs, appearing in the entrance, his arm was tied with pieces of his shirt, which was starting to soak in blood. “We can get out of here, gentlemen.”
Ran nodded and you started to leave the room. You took a cold look at everything one last time and followed the rest.
It wasn't until you were outside the abandoned clinic that you realized the storm had passed. The air was still heavy, but you felt a hint of freshness in it. You waited until the people from your gang left the place and Rindou lit a cigarette. His handsome face showed obvious displeasure at having his clothes dirty, and his older brother looked at him with mild amusement.
“Don't even start, brother.” Rindou muttered, and Ran's shoulders shook with soft laughter.
“I'd love to talk to Emiko myself.” You said quietly, but Sanzu shook his head vehemently. His pink hair brushed his shoulders.
“Put it out of your mind. First of all, you are banned, and secondly, most importantly, she is not in Tokyo.”
You bit the inside of your cheek lightly and looked away from him, stopping yourself from revealing what Shuji Hanma had told you.
“Until that psychopath gets a confession out of that bitch about where Sugiyama went, we won't find the guy. We must refrain from any actions and wait for further developments in the situation.” Haru said quite soberly and rubbed his forehead with his hand. “Fuck, these people are a real pain in the ass.”
“At least we're not bored.” Ran joked sarcastically and opened the car door.
“Don't piss me off.” Rindou grumbled, putting a cigarette in his mouth and getting into the car to his usual seat behind the wheel.
You sat in the back with Sanzu, who seemed happy again, although his movements showed some tension.
“They chose to kill these girls rather than let them escape.” Ran sighed as he fastened his seat belt.
“It was just a commodity that they wrote off from the very beginning. Nothing strange about it.” Sanzu commented on this, tilting his head back and closing his eyes for a moment. He seemed tired...
“Can we now count on a return to a relatively normal life?” Rindou asked as he started the car and you looked at him interested. “How long has it been, a week since this circus started?”
"Yes." Sanzu said, opening his eyes. “We'll see what Mikey says.”
“And so, it went pretty quickly.” You shrugged. “The key turned out to be Uchiyamas…”
“The key… You could put it that way.” Haruchiyo snorted and pulled his beloved pill bottle from his pocket. He looked at it, shook it a few times and, to your surprise, put it back in his pocket. “Fuck, I would give anything to get a good night's sleep.”
“Yeah… Tempting thought.” Ran echoed him, sitting more comfortably in the passenger seat.
“How long have you been awake?” You asked quietly, looking at Sanzu very carefully.
“Two, maybe two and a half days.” He answered you casually and shrugged.
“Fuck…” You grunted, exhaling through your nose. “I was the only one who slept regularly?”
“You're obviously more fucked up than us if you could sleep soundly knowing what those bastards were doing in their basement.” Rindou said, focusing on driving.
“I was moved by what I saw and took it very personally, but regular sleep is a very important part of our job, so…” There were loud complaints from the other three men in the car and you looked at them in surprise. "Come on? That's the truth..."
“God, L/n... For fuck's sake...” Sanzu grimaced as he looked at you.
"That's the truth. After all, we are not saints ourselves..." You tried to defend yourself, not understanding what the rest were getting at.
“We all sometimes forget that our sweet and innocent Y/n was once a member of Valhalla.” Ran said half-jokingly and you frowned slightly.
“It has nothing to do with...”
“Yes, working closely with Hanma leaves a certain mark on a person.” Rindou nodded and Sanzu agreed with a grunt.
"Not at all..." You leaned back on the backrest and looked out the car window.
Do you really have to wait for any move from Daisuke Sugiyama to get your hands on him and reach his boss? It really looked like the Uchiyamas were the key to ending this mess, but for how long? Bonten has always had enemies, and so far, the syndicate has always managed to crush them, but that won't always be the case. Everything ends someday...
“Have you considered purchasing an extra floor, Y/n?” Sanzu asked after a few minutes of silence.
“I'm still thinking about it.”
“Hmm? Are you expanding the café?” Ran became interested.
"Maybe..."
“You have to finally give us the address or we will find it ourselves.”
“You can handle this perfectly well.” You sighed, rolling your eyes. “Everything is under constant camera surveillance, so if you try something against my girls, I will know.”
“You are no have fun.” The elder Haitani brother commented on this, but there was amusement in his voice. “You know you can't protect everyone in your life, right?”
“Is it threat or wisdom from experience?”
“Sanzu, is your dog trying to bite or is it just growling?” Rindou joked and the man in question snorted.
“Leave him alone.” He grumbled and the rest of the journey was spent in silence.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Couldn't you disarm one of them and take them for questioning?” Kisaki growled nervously, hitting the table you were sitting at with his open hand. “There were enough of you to be able to do this!”
“Maybe it's better this way.” Hanma suddenly spoke up, looking dispassionately at the lighter he held in his hand.
"Better?! And in what case is it better?”
“Ms. Uchiyama... Sugiyama... Miura, whatever you call her... She's quite helpful in giving us new information.” Shuji raised his golden eyes to the shorter strategist and tilted his head slightly. “She is nice and helpful and will tell us everything she knows.”
“What if she stops, huh?” Kisaki growled.
"She..."
“You know she'll only stop talking once we let L/n near her.” Manjiro Sano interjected in a very calm tone and everyone's eyes fell on you.
You pursed your lips without lifting your head, trying not to take your eyes off the glass of brown liquor you held in both hands. Mikey surprised everyone by joining the meeting, but his decision made Sanzu very happy. You knew that your leader avoided any contact with other people, and you felt some relief that he changed his mind this time... Once again...
“He doesn't know where she is.” Kisaki said as he sat back down in his seat.
“So, we have nothing to worry about, right?” Hanma asked, smiling slightly, which his interlocutor left without comment.
“What's your decision, Mikey?” Takeomi asked calmly, blowing cigarette smoke from his mouth.
"Despite the seriousness of the situation and the fact that it would be best to move on..." Mikey began, tilting his head slightly forward and to the side, his white hair covering his black, dark circled eye. “It will be most prudent to refrain from any action until we obtain information on where to look for the fugitives.”
“Should we stay in the hideout?” Sanzu asked and you stole a glance at him.
“No. You've been here too long. Everyone should disperse.” Came the answer and Manjiro stood up from his place at the head of the table.
“But…” There was a note of concern in the pink-haired man's voice.
“No discussion.” Mikey steeled himself and left the room, leaving everyone in silence. There was a sense of relief in the air, as if everyone could breathe fresh air again.
Sanzu muttered a few words under his breath and frowned and followed his King, and after a short while, Kakucho followed. You drank the contents of your glass and got up from the table, intending to leave the rest of the company.
“You already leaving, L/n?” Hanma raised his eyebrows in surprise, and you looked at him.
"I'm exhausted." You mustered up the honesty and your eyes landed on the thoughtful Kisaki for a brief moment. “I have a lot of things to think about, and since we're going to leave the hideout, there's a lot of catching up to do.”
“I understand, but it's still a pity…”
“I'll go too.” Ran groaned as he stood up from his chair with a lazy smirk. “I have at least three things I would like to deal with today…”
“Try to get some new information out of her, Hanma.” Rindou poured himself more alcohol into a glass, stood up and followed his older brother towards the exit.
Hanma just grunted as he watched the men go, then turned his fox eyes to the blonde strategist and smiled maliciously. “What are you thinking about, Kisaki?”
Without waiting for the man's response, you nodded goodbye to Takeomi and the others and walked out into the empty corridor, unstopped by anyone. You put your hands in your pants pockets and headed to your room to get ready to go home.
These few days had been the longest time you had spent in the hideout, and you couldn't wait to get back to your safe haven and close the door behind you. Or at least safe so far. You shook your head and silently scolded yourself for the thought.
You felt grateful that Hanma didn't reveal that you knew Emiko Miura's current location, but there was a little voice in the back of your mind telling you to be careful.
As the giggling prostitutes passed you, you were grateful for Mikey's decision to go home. Miki was usually good with girls, but apparently not with the current group. If they continued to roam around the property that served as Bonten's hideout, you were sure there would be an accident.
You closed the door to your room behind you and opened the closet where freshly washed and ironed clothes were hanging and you nodded in satisfaction. You pulled out a small black bag and started packing small things that you hadn't taken from your hiding place last time.
You picked up the cardboard file on the Uchiyama case from your desk and looked at it thoughtfully for a moment before packing it into your bag. Maybe it will come in handy. You then remembered that Sanzu had mentioned that you should get more information about it, but so far there had been no response from the source. Or maybe the pink-haired man just didn't mention anything because there was no time for it? Yes, that's definitely it. He wouldn't hide anything from you, especially if it concerned a case you were working on...
You checked the ashtray outside the window and sat down on the bed. You looked at the watch on your wrist and seeing that it was already 3 a.m., another wave of tiredness washed over you. You didn't even feel like changing your clothes, but you only managed to wash your hands and face before the meeting, so it would be a good idea to tidy up more.
You forced yourself up from the temptingly soft mattress and shuffled to the bathroom, intending to take a shower, but when your eyes fell on the bathtub...
You turned on the water and prepared a bath with nerve-soothing lavender oil. You threw all your clothes into the basket in the corner of the bathroom, turned off the water, and got into the tub. You sat down carefully and as soon as the hot water covered your body, you felt all your muscles relax. You tilted your head back and closed your eyes, feeling the aroma of the oil soothe your senses. You sighed heavily and after a while your breathing slowed down and your eyelids became heavier...
A cold chill shook your body, and you opened your eyes, not understanding what had happened. You glanced at the faucet, thinking you had accidentally turned on the cold water, but no... How could you do that if you didn't move, and when you sat down, your back ached and a chill enveloped your tired body. The water was cold.
You looked around the bathroom and swore loudly. You fell asleep in the bathtub. Idiot. You quickly got out and drained it and started rubbing your skin with a towel to warm yourself up a bit. You were still angry at yourself for doing such a stupid and irresponsible thing and left the bathroom.
The first rays of sunlight began to stream through the uncurtained window, and you cursed again. It must have been around 5 a.m., so you didn't sleep very long...
The door to your room opened quietly and Sanzu walked in. He looked at you with dispassionate, tired eyes and snorted quietly.
“You look like shit.”
“Did you see yourself in the mirror?” You answered him sarcastically and put on a fresh shirt. “At least I slept for almost two hours.”
"Fuck you." The man sighed and rubbed his tired eyes with the fingers of both hands. “Will you take me to my apartment?”
"Bright. I'll just get dressed.” Your voice was calm. “How's Mikey?”
“And how is he supposed to be?”
“I thought he had shared some further thoughts with you about the case.”
Sanzu sat down heavily on the sofa and put his feet up on the coffee table. He yawned loudly and tilted his head back. You wanted to push his legs back to the floor, but you knew it wouldn't do any good. The only place he didn't do this was in his own home. The son of a bitch respected his furniture. Well, except for the times when he went into a high-induced frenzy...
“I tried to convince him that we should stay here longer. We don't know if Yata gave Kuroda any information regarding Mikey's whereabouts."
You nodded as you fastened your belt. “And Kakucho?”
“He agreed with me very willingly. Mikey hasn't changed his mind.”
“He won't be alone here.”
“I should have stayed with him and protected him.”
“So why don't you do it?” You looked towards the man and saw that his eyes were closed.
“Because Mikey gave a different order.” He growled dissatisfied.
“Will you listen?”
“Don't tempt me.” The pink-haired man looked at you with narrowed eyes. “I don't want to upset him. We'd be better served by keeping an eye on the streets. Maybe Sugiyama will emerge on his own or make some mistake that will lead us to him.”
“We all want to close this case as soon as possible.” You put on your jacket and took the bag you had prepared. You walked up to the sitting Sanzu and extended your hand towards him. “Kisaki will press Hanma to get everything he can out of Emiko.”
"I know." Sanzu grabbed your hand and with one tug you helped him up from the sofa. “I don't like them, but they are useful.”
“Any news from the police?”
“Your suspicions have been confirmed.” Haruchiyo replied and laughed softly. “Sometimes I feel like you're playing for the wrong team.”
"Meaning?" You asked as you walked down the hall towards the garages.
“Haven't you thought about becoming a detective?”
“Are you crazy?” You grimaced as you looked at him. “I wouldn't be there for you then…”
“Hmm, but you could have been chasing me then.” The pink-haired man smiled widely, and you felt your cheeks grow warmer.
"Dreamer."
“Look me in the eye and tell me you wouldn't be obsessed with me.” Sanzu's lips twisted into a mischievous, mysterious smirk and you felt the corners of your own mouth twitch upwards. “See, you won't deny it. Maybe then I would leave you some clues on purpose?”
“So, you could lure me into some trap, torture me, and kill me? Bite yourself.” You grunted as your heart skipped a beat.
Sanzu tilted his head to the side slightly and the smile disappeared from his lips. "Maybe yes maybe no. There's no point in guessing.”
You accepted this answer and both of you got into your car. Sanzu pushed the seat back further and made himself more comfortable.
“Maybe go to the back?”
"Nope." He closed his eyes, and a soft sigh escaped his pale pink lips. "Just take me home, please."
You started the engine and carefully pulled out of the garage, heading down the driveway and straight through the entrance gate onto a road that led through a fairly quiet area to the highway, which would make your trip much shorter.
You drove in complete silence for almost an hour, but as soon as you entered the neighborhood where the apartment building where Sanzu lived was located, the man sat up straight and adjusted the back of his seat. He ran his fingers through his hair and looked at his watch.
“I hope you actually go to sleep instead of thinking about something.” You said calmly as you stopped your vehicle at a red light.
“Shit, I was planning to fuck some whore and get drunk…” He said in a sarcastic tone, and you snorted.
"Same as me."
Haruchiyo's head snapped towards you, but he didn't say anything.
"What?" You glanced at him briefly and returned your attention to the traffic lights.
“I can believe the second part, but not the first.”
"Why?"
“The girls complained that you didn't take any of them to bed.” He explained, tilting his head slightly to the side.
"Really? Do they talk about such things?”
“Hanma and Ran have the highest score. You are at the end of the spectrum. Some speculate that you are impotent.”
You widened your eyes in surprise at his words and continued on your way at the green light. "Seriously? Impotent?"
“If you have any problems...”
"I do not have any problems. My penis is perfectly fine, thank you.” You said, trying not to sound too outraged. “I just don't feel like having girls, that's all.”
“Y/n…” Sanzu said quietly and when you looked at him, he was staring out the side window of the car. “How many years have we known each other? 11?”
“Somehow it will be like this. Why?"
“I've already gotten to know you, but since you revealed your feelings for me... I started to understand.”
You drove the car with concentration and silence, not wanting to pressure your pink-haired passenger, but you had a feeling what he was getting to.
“I've come to understand your loyalty to the people you love... And I can't understand what Emiko did to you.” He added after a short while and you felt his gaze on you again. “You are not willing to cheat. I know you've slept with girls in clubs before, but I also know that was before you said I love you out loud.
“I'm glad you noticed that.” You replied quietly and pulled into the garage of the underground apartment building where Sanzu lived, and the man laughed softly.
“Stupid cunt.” He said casually and shook his head. “What made her so blind? You were supposed to leave the gang and start a family with her.”
You stopped the car next to Haru's and turned off the engine. “She cared more about me cutting off all contact with you than me leaving the gang.”
Your honesty took the man by surprise, and he froze, his hand on the car door handle. "What?"
“From the first day I met you, she was plagued by jealousy.” You looked into his eyes and felt yourself starting to get lost in them. “I felt something pleasantly warm towards her, but only our meeting made me realize what love at first sight is.”
“Y/n…”
"Please. I love you, Haruchiyo, and it doesn't matter to me whether you love me as much as I love you or whether it's just sexual attraction...” His hand fell to his thigh, but his bright eyes continued to stare at your face. “My feelings for you will not change. It didn't even weaken during these few days of separation. You know very well that I am ready to kill for you and I have done it more than once..."
“Y/n, shut up already.” He said softly and opened the car door. “You're tired and you're starting to get emotional.”
You got out of the car without a word and the man waited for you to walk around the vehicle before you walked together to the elevator. There was silence between you, but it wasn't unpleasant. Your heart leaped out of your chest towards him, but all you could do was gently brush his fingers with yours.
You got into the elevator, the doors of which closed with a quiet hiss and Sanzu pressed the button for the appropriate floor, then leaned back against one wall and closed his eyes again.
You watched his face for a moment, wondering if if you weren't in the gang, whether your paths would ever actually cross. You always had the thought in the back of your mind that being a police officer wasn't a bad idea and you liked listening to your uncle's stories about being a detective, but you chose a different path. Maybe if you had a different relationship with your own father, you would have done things differently, but...
“What would you do if you were the police, and you finally got your hands on me?” Sanzu asked quietly, looking at you with narrowed eyes.
“I would die?” You answered without hesitation, and a look appeared on Haruchiyo's handsome face, wondering if you were completely nuts.
"You would die?"
“You would definitely shoot me or attack me with a katana.” You shrugged.
"You do not know that. Maybe I could have some fun with you..."
“Would you have that much time?”
Sanzu purred, the scarred corners of his mouth turning up in a sweet yet mischievous smirk. “I always have time to have fun, Y/n.”
You looked down and laughed quietly. "I know that."
"But seriously. Would you try to kill me?” The serious tone in Haruchiyo's voice made you look at him again.
“No. I would rather try to disable you. I wouldn't let you get away without punishment.”
"Liar."
You looked down again, feeling your cheeks flush. You usually weren't ashamed when people caught you in even the smallest lies, although it was very rare indeed. Rarely did people see through your lies. You didn't like lying to others, but it was Sanzu and Hanma who showed you that sometimes a good lie goes a long way.
“If I hadn't tried to kill you…” The pink-haired man spoke again, still leaning against the wall of the elevator. “If I let you get closer to me. What would you do? Don't try to lie this time.”
You thought for a moment and your heart started beating faster again. You knew what you would do, because despite the difficulty of admitting it to yourself, you had only one thing on your mind from day one.
“If I worked for the police and you let me get close to you…” You began calmly, slowly walking towards Sanzu, who was watching your every move with narrowed eyes. “I would do one thing.”
"Meaning?" His voice was hushed and feeling his pleasant scent, you couldn't hold back anymore. You stopped right in front of him, your body brushing gently against his and you leaned forward, focusing your gaze on his slightly parted, pink lips.
"I'd do that." You whispered and connected your lips with his for a long moment. He didn't protest.
His lips were deliciously warm, and their softness was tempting, so, unrestrained by the dangerous gangster, you placed one hand on the back of his neck and deepened the kiss. He took in more air through his nose and his lips moved in response to the caress, and after a short while you felt his tongue slip into your mouth and your body responded involuntarily, pressing Sanzu against the wall of the elevator he was leaning against.
The atmosphere in this small space was starting to get hotter, and when you felt the slim, yet strong hand of the pink-haired man on your back, you knew you were about to burst and lose control...
“Y/n…” He said softly, his voice slightly hoarse as he removed his lips from yours and his hot breath fanned over your face.
“I'm sorry…” Your lips brushed against his again, but you pulled away and laughed softly. “I guess I could be easily bribed.”
“Hmm, corrupt cop, huh?” His red, shiny lips stretched into a mischievous smile and your eyes met. His beautiful eyes sparkled playfully. “I like this vision.”
“It doesn't particularly bother me either.” You laughed again and Sanzu bit his lower lip gently.
“Are you in a hurry to get to your house?”
"Why are you asking?"
He looked deep into your eyes, his pupils dilated as usual, except this time it wasn't because of the drugs, and you felt a pleasant shiver.
“I think I'm going to need a little help falling asleep…” His eyes moved to your lips, and he brought his face closer to yours.

Jigoku-no-Hanazono: Office Royale (2021) *spoilers*
Never thought I’d see the cute Mei Nagano kicking butt as a delinquent alongside Alice Hirose who does the same!
It’s a funny movie about office ladies of different cliques at work forming their own gang to exert dominance over the company. Mei Nagano manage to remain neutral thus far without getting involve in any gang, going about her daily work life with two of her colleagues who are the same as her.
As the gang war continues, a new employee, Alice Hirose arrives and upset the balance of power when she got caught in the middle. But she proves to be the strongest fighter of them all emerging as the ultimate victor, being able to take on them all single handedly, unifying the different gangs under her leadership.
Although good in fighting, Alice Hirose struggles at her job and learns from her senior, Mei Nagano. She began to like her and they got very close. Her reputation of her prowess reach the rival gangs from other companies who wants to challenge her by kidnapping Mei Nagano to lure her into a trap.
Alice Hirose is furious that she confronted the rival gang alone wanting to take them all down single-handedly as she always does, against the advice of her own gangs as the new rival is known to be much more formidable and ferocious as she later learn when she was taken down after several intense duels.
This is where the story takes an interesting turn. Upon seeing Alice Hirose being knocked out unconscious for the first time, Mei Nagano decides to take matters into her own hands and save her instead, revealing her true nature as a fighter as well, something she hid from everyone including Alice Hirose.
It is revealed that she grew up in a family of delinquents where she’s the youngest, learning to fight from her elder brothers. But she resented fighting and doesn’t want to get involve in gang wars like her brothers, as she prefers a simple normal life as an office lady like everyone else.
While Alice Hirose gang believes her to be the one to take down the new rival on her own, only the rival knows that it was Mei Nagano was the one who took them down. Mei Nagano though their defeat would deter them from appearing in her life and life goes on with Alice Hirose as the leader of the gang.
But things did not go to plan as the rival shows up again, this time with their undefeated boss who wants to challenge Mei Nagano to a duel. Meanwhile, Alice Hirose’s pride is hurt being defeated for the first time and with the gang learning the truth, that she too wants to fight Mei Nagano.
It’s a fun movie to watch, it’s as crazy as Kyō Kara Ore Wa!! which features female fighters fighting delinquents too (Kanna Hashimoto and Seino Nana). I like the strong chemistry between Alice Hirose and Mei Nagano, and seeing them kicking butts, which makes the movie entertaining to watch.

Tokyo-Kontrastprogramm

AQOURSCANON: Let's imagine it once and for all (Codename: Aqours Midnight Hour)
April Fools is close by and this day was infamous for bringing some odd ideas to life for Aqours. From CYAZALEA Kiss, to teasing Genjitsu no Yohane into reality, I'm beginning to wonder if Ruby will be next to receive a spinoff.
Hear me out...just for a moment.
[Actually fuck this. My idea is more seiyuu focused, because KU-RU-KU-RU Cruller was cruel to Ruby, especially since city pop is Furi's specialty].
Currently, it is under the conceptual development as "Aqours: Midnight Hour". The story does feature more than just Aqours; including other members from other idol groups as supporting or guests/cameo.
The synopsis takes place in an alternate Tokyo in the near future, where the 80s aesthetic never died. Furirin, who was Emitsun's partner for a few years, decides to move to Tokyo for more work after her hometown's crime rate depleted significantly. Now, the Nagano native has to adapt to the never-ending chaos of the city.
However, the current state of Tokyo was under the scrutiny of a gang war between the Suwa Clan of Saitama and Komiya Clan of Tochigi, after the sudden disappearance of Aina Suzuki. Suzuki, who was Naho's romantic partner after the disbanding of Aqours in 2026, went missing after a live performance in Akihabara; leaving Naho to blame for possibly murdering her.
While reuniting with Aika, now a fortune teller in a rundown building beside an old nightclub, Furirin interferes with the local police and saved Naho from possible prosecution proving she had no motive or involvement in the assumed death of Aina Suzuki. Now, the former clan leader makes a promise to accompany Furirin as her crime partner as they investigate the case. Though, finding the answer to the missing former Aqours member is not the only issue around here.
--Not when there are rumors of a secret third clan from Hyogo also lurking around, a rivalry between Inamin and RKK, a foreigner detective, who is a huge fan of Furirin, investigating an unusual paranormal activity affecting Shibuya and nearby districts, plus an underground Communist cult holding a local beer distributor hostage; will Furirin and Naho be able to handle all these cases on top of the ongoing reign of the Komiya Clan?--
(Oh, and Shuka became a millionaire off of yacht rentals...)
======
As it stands, it is not set in stone if I wish to proceed with this potential fanfic. I do want to at least share this headcanon though. Maybe we'll get a surprise next week over it.

Evita: The Life & Work Of Eva Peron GN - Alberto Breccia
In a sequel to their spellbinding, experimental biography of Che Guevara, Hector Germán Oesterheld and the Breccias chronicle the eventful life of Eva Perón. Published in 1970, Evita: The Life and Work of Eva Perón was daringly intended to be the follow-up to the artists' successful and controversial 1969 graphic biography Life of Che. Hector Germán Oesterheld plotted the book and the father and son team of Alberto and Enrique Breccia drew the comic - but the text was "sanitized" before its publication. In 2001, a restored version of Evita featuring Oesterheld's original, uncensored script wasfinally published in Spanish; it is translated in English here for the first time. In just 72 boldly penned chiaroscuro pages, this graphic biography paints a complex portrait of a pivotal Argentine figure who was at once beloved and reviled by her people.
Born in rural Argentina to extreme poverty, she moved to Buenos Aires where she met and married Colonel Perón, who would become president of Argentina. As First Lady, affectionately nicknamed Evita, she devoted herself to social welfare and worker's rights, campaigned for women's suffrage, and became known as "The Spiritual Leader of the Nation." While she has been viewed as an international icon, inspiring celebratory works such as Andrew Lloyd Webber's 1976Broadway Evita, this biography by her countrymen takes a far more searing and critical approach, chronicling the noble causes she fought for as well as the militarism and oppression of the Perónist regime.
Flavor Girls HC - Loic Locatelli-Kournwsky
Naoko, Camille, and V are the FLAVOR GIRLS, Sacred Fruit Guardians of Earth! They defend the earth from the threat of ever-looming Agarthians, whose motives regarding earth and humanity are still unknown. Golden Sparkle GN - Minta Suzumaru
A coming-of-age story about two high school guys figuring out love in each other's arms. Himaru Uehara's first year of high school is off to a good start, minus one problem-he keeps having wet dreams. With only his mom and sister at home-and having skipped health class in middle school-he thinks it means there's something wrong with him. Thankfully, a new friend has just the remedy and teaches Himaru exactly how to deal with those pesky dreams! But his solution only leads to more confusion, and the two find themselves navigating feelings they've never felt before.
The Green Girls GN - Loic Nicoloff & Alberto Zanon
Emma, Lily, and Fadila want to save the planet... but no one around them seems to care. Frustrated, they name themselves the Green Girls, take to social media, and launch a series of bold protests. Alongside their classmate and aspiring Green Girl Silas, the crew risks getting in trouble (and stirs some up) to raise awareness about container ship pollution, palm oil overproduction, and more environmental hazards. With a mix of livestreams, spray paint, and bungee cords, they're out to make a difference-and get their followers to do the same.
Hidden Systems GN - Dan Nott
This nonfiction science graphic novel takes readers on a journey from how the most essential systems were developed to how they are implemented in our world today and how they will be used in the future. What was the first message sent over the internet? How much water does a single person use every day? How was the electric light invented? For every utility we use each day, there's a hidden history, a story of intrigue, drama, humor, and inequity. This graphic novel provides a guided tour through the science of the past and reveals how the decisions people made while inventing and constructing early technology still affect the way people use it today.
Hoops GN - Matthew Tavares
A work of fiction inspired by a true story, Matt Tavares's debut graphic novel dramatizes the historic struggle for gender equality in high school sports. It is 1975 in Indiana, and the Wilkins Regional High School girls' basketball team is in their rookie season. Despite being undefeated, they practice at night in the elementary school and play to empty bleachers. Unlike the boys' team, the Lady Bears have no buses to deliver them to away games and no uniforms, much less a laundry service. They make their own uniforms out of T-shirts and electrical tape. And with help from a committed female coach, they push through to improbable victory after improbable victory. Illustrated in full color, this story about the ongoing battle of women striving for equality in sports rings with honesty, bravery, and heart.
House On Fire TP - Matt Battaglia
Is she sick, or is it the world itself? House on Fire, the debut graphic novel by writer/artist Matt Battaglia, teases out the difference in a personal-political cruise through a fallen world, where fear is rational and obedience your only refuge. Battaglia depicts the near-future landscape of House on Fire with wild two-color brushwork reminiscent of the great Paul Pope, and a minimalist writing style that evokes and questions rather than lectures.
Kitaro: Japan’s Classic Manga Collection GN - Shigeru Mizuki
Kitaro seems just like any other boy. Of course, he isn't-what with his one eye and jet-powered geta sandals, and the fact that he can shape-shift like a chameleon. It's all a part of being a 350-year-old yokai, a Japanese spirit monster. Against a backdrop of photorealistic landscapes, Kitaro and his otherworldly cartoon friends plunge into the depths of the Pacific Ocean and forge the oft-unseen wilds of Japan's countryside. The twelve stories in this special collection include more works published in the golden age of GeGeGe no Kitaro between 1967 and 1969.
Link & Hud: Heroes By A Hair GN - Jarrett Pumphrey & Jerome Pumphrey
Lincoln and Hudson Dupré are brothers with what grown-ups call "active imaginations." Link and Hud hunt for yetis in the Himalayas and battle orcs on epic quests. Unfortunately, their imaginary adventures wreak havoc in their real world. Dr. and Mrs. Dupré have tried every babysitter in the neighborhood and are at their wits' end. Enter Ms. Joyce. Strict and old-fashioned, she proves to be a formidable adversary. The boys don't like her or her rules and decide she's got to go. Through a series of escalating events-told as high-action comic panel sequences-the brothers conspire to undermine Ms. Joyce and get her fired. When they go so big that even Ms. Joyce can't fix it, suddenly she's out. Finally, success! Or is it?

In the months since, the killings have sparked a dangerous political movement, copycat killers, and a masked vigilante who's still determined to hold the powerful accountable. Not a symbol. In this thriller set in an alternate timeline, Nicolaus Balaak correctly predicted that on July 7, 1977, seven identical sons would be born to virgin mothers. Now, on their 21st birthday, one of these Seven Sons will be revealed as the new son of God and lead humanity into a golden age of morality, peace, and prosperity. But she's tired of feeling squished by her six siblings! They're noisy and chaotic and the younger kids love her a little too much. All Avery wants is her own room - her own space to be alone and make art. So she's furious when Theo, her grumpy older brother, gets his own room instead, and her wild baby brother, Max, moves into the room she already shares with her clinging sister Pearl! Avery hatches a plan to finally get her own room, all while trying to get Max to sleep at night, navigating changes in her friendships, and working on an art entry for the fair. And when Avery finds out that her family might move across the country, things get even more complicated.

Who’s Thor in your dcmk Marvel au? You may have said it, and I may have missed it. If I have, whoops, sorry
.....yeah i probably haven’t mentioned it?? or only in passing, but anyway, thor is makoto, prince of Not Really Sure How Human Interactions Work But Will Kick Ass For Sonoko Anyway. which means that yes sonoko is some version of jane foster, and aoko is darcy, who may or may not be secretly together with hawkeye (it’s complicated)
and while we’re on the topic of “people that have never really come up but i’ll happily take the excuse to mention”:
shiho’s two externally-contracted brain cells are sera aka war machine, and momiji aka current boss of miyano industries
kansuke and yui are nick fury and maria hill respectively. koumei said nope to all that and joined the regular police force, where he sighs theatrically at SHIELD’s antics and pulls “i can’t hear you, you’re dead” on kansuke at least four times while he was faking dead
(there was a pretty ouch moment back after the soldier’s attack when yui couldn’t tell koumei that kansuke was Not Dead only almost dead for security reasons but you will never get a word out of either of them about it. yui bought him extra nice tea afterwards in apology)
the black org is hydra. this is probably obvious
probably also obvious: the miyanos were erskine and howard
imaginary cookie if anyone can guess who the carters are
#will i take all chances to talk about marvel au? yes#will i also take all chances to bring the nagano trio in? also yes#anyway i may be forgetting some but i think that's the main list of roles that've never really come up on main#the police and FBI alphabet soup gang are mostly status quo except for hidemi#and also hakuba is the hulk just for the pun. hah#marvel au#asks#anonymous

The Freedom of Expression, radio version - Ep 52, Sep 2016 - Image of 'the perfect face', Celebrity Talent's adult movie debut, Thai red-light districts facing destruction.
Kaoru starts by saying in the current tour the band should now be as far as the Nagano date at Hokuto Bunka Hall. They are including a few hall dates in the tour for the sake of the older fans. Joe says the band are lucky to be able to visit lots of regional areas and enjoy all the local Autumn food. They try to remember some Nagano specialities, horse sashimi, soba, apples. Joe says that Koi/carp are eaten in Nagano too, in particular the dish Koikoku. Kaoru mentions that they are recording this show well in advance of the Nagano show, and wants recommendations for good places to eat/drink there, but realises that by the time this radio show goes out, the Nagano live will already be over and it will be too late. Joe asks Kaoru whether the band usually have after-parties/after-show drinks in regional areas. He replies that they do, but not everyone always attends.
Kaoru's first topic of interest is about UK based plastic surgeon Julian de Silver, who has created an image of the most perfect face by combining the most requested looks his clients have asked for over the years. The lips, says Kaoru, are 'Peperone' Cruz's. Joe corrects him with, 'Penelope'. The forehead is Miley Cyrus', the skin is Reece Witherspoon's. Kaoru is a bit surprised that even skin is a component in this concept. The jaw is Cher's, the chin is Selena Gomez's. Both Kaoru and Joe have the image in question in front of them, and Joe asks Kaoru what he thinks of it. Kaoru thinks it looks like the type of face you always see in movies etc. It could even be described as a bit boring. He tells a story about how he was recently listening to a radio talk show on InterFM with Joe and another DJ. The other DJ had the perfect, typical radio voice, and for some reason it didn't grab Kaoru's attention at all, but when he heard Joe's voice (which is a bit different from the average DJ voice), he didn't initially realise it was Joe, but immediately paid attention. Joe is pretty happy to hear such a comment from Kaoru. The same concept could be applied to this picture of the perfect face. If it is too perfect, it lacks individuality. Joe says you will shine more if you show your own individuality, rather than if you pay money to look perfect. This 'perfect face' wows neither Joe or Kaoru.
Hiranabe joins them next. Its his first appearance on the show for quite a while, as his nights have been quite busy recently, he says. Kaoru asks him what he thinks of the woman with the perfect face - Would he go to a bar staffed with such faces? It goes without question that he definitely would! Joe says that Hiranabe was singing the praises of Niigata women while the first record was playing, and after visiting Fukuoka recently, he was also raving about how charm is more important than sex appeal. For example, rather than a typical 'sexy' young woman in a bikini, the charm of a Fukuoka woman in a kimono, showing the nape of her neck, awakens desires in him.
Hiranabe's first news is about the daughter of actress Sakaguchi Ryōko, Sakaguchi Anri, who had recently made her adult video debut. Hiranabe thinks this is pretty shocking, because usually when celebs turn to the AV path, its due to a crash in their career which they need to revive somehow, but in Sakaguchi's case, her career had recieved no such blow. Joe asks why she has made the move to AV in that case, and Hiranabe replies it may be because of her debts. She had apparently been spending far too much money on hosts, having a maternal instinct towards them, and wanting to spoil them. Hiranabe thinks the trend of celebs turning to AV is likely to continue, which is good news for Tokyo Sports, and very pleasing for him personally.
Hiranabe has heard that Sakaguchi's salary per adult movie is likely to be about ¥20-30million. AV stars used to be paid a lot more than this, because this type of media sold a lot more in the past than it does now. But still, ¥20million yen is a significant amount of money. Hiranabe wonders whether he should become a male AV actor. Kaoru laughs and says that the men won't get paid that much. Hiranabe says conversely, he would probably have to pay the movie company to let him do it. Joe jokes that the listeners will complain and blame Kaoru and Joe if they see Hiranabe turn up in porn movies.
Hiranabe moves onto his next topic which is about Thailand's red light districts (Kaoru and Joe both laugh as soon as they hear these words), specifically, the threat facing them. Hiranabe explains that unlike Japan, Thailand doesn't have any kind of mafia or organized crime gangs. This kind of role has historically been caried out by the police or army, who would extract money/bribes from brothels etc. But in recent times the government/army has been carrying out a severe crackdown, closing many nightlife establishments. In areas like Thaniya or Patpong, for example, its clear that a crackdown is taking place, but in places like Nana Plaza etc, it is still very busy and lively. As to why the former neighborhoods are sufferering, Hiranabe says its because the army is new there. According to a friend of Hiranabe's who lives in the area, it will probably start getting back to normal after a few years. Hiranabe says he will have to get back there once it starts to recover. Joe asks him, with all these visits to various places for the women, when does he actually plan on doing any work? Kaoru says that this hobby at least gives Hiranabe things to talk about. It would be worse having no hobbies at all. Hiranabe asks if he really has this kind of image, to which Kaoru and Joe reply, yes, 100%! Hiranabe says it must be the fault of the mic...the mic and Kaoru and Joe.
To finish, Kaoru tells listeners that there are 4 dates remaining on the DSS tour, and hopes people can make it (although he has no idea whether there are still tickets remaining). He then plugs the Kisou and Uroboros tours, and the Instagram fashion campaign.
Songs - Dir en grey/Phenomenon, Dimension Zero/Helmet, Dir en grey/Utafumi.

Am I the only one who thinks Ichijo needs the same, if not more, aftercare as Godai post series? Godai's got the rest of the Kuuga gang, but Ichijo goes back to Nagano where there's no one who really "gets" what he went through. Add in that not only was he responsible for leading a task force out in the field trying to save Tokyo, but also for the longest time the sole protector of No 4. A lot of lives rode on his decisions. That's gotta weigh on a man, right?
Oh, I absolutely agree, Ichijo's got just as much to cope with after the end of Kuuga as Godai does. (I tend to write him post-series as someone who sees himself as still carrying a lot of responsibility, both in general and also specifically for what happened to and with Godai.) The man needs friends and support and therapy.

I literally LOVE u for being careful and acknowledging the fact that haikyuu characters are Japanese and not... not Japanese...? Like my respect for u just skyrocketed 🙏🏼 as an Asian person, I am honestly so delighted 😁 highkey tired of ppl tryna make my Atsumu a fuckin Adam
Haha the not-not Japanese really got me. I’m Asian, too. It’s always funny how people dismiss Filipinos as Asians because they focus more on the Eastern Asians. Like? Have they not studied Geography and seen how big of a territory Asia is??
But anyway, that is my MAJOR gripe with (some) fanfics - mischaracterization and complete disregard or disrespect to the material and its setting. Like, Japanese people are REALLY CONSERVATIVE and are NOT LIBERATED. They DON’T HAVE PROM or PARTIES, they live by a strict schedule and like, only a minority just break off the rules and end up as punks and delinquents. I made a post ranting about this, prolly under #alicemitch09 rants.
Seriously, if you’re a writer, the FIRST thing you need to do before writing is doing research and understanding the setting and the characters. The world does not revolve around one culture alone - BOO. There’s a multitude of cultures out there, it just so happens your favorite series falls under one of them. RESEARCH IS FUN! DO IT. BECAUSE MIYA ATSUMU AND OTHER HAIKYUU!! CHARACTERS ARE NOT FUCKING ADAM AND VOLLEYBALL GANG! Also, canonically, the setting is 2012 for the Nationals arc, 2018 for Time-skip arc. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT. CERTAIN MEMES, LINGOS, AND GADGETS DIDN’T EXIST THEN.
Oh, and by the way, Fun Fact: the setting for (un)loving miya atsumu is in Kobe, Hyougo. Kobe’s one of the major cities in Hyougo prefecture, the Inarizaki team gave me a feel that they’re part of a major school in their city. There was a Twitter thread that suggest they could be from Amagasaki and wrote off an amazing take on why the band acts as such, but I went for Kobe because major cities tend to get more attention and have the best in terms of education and sports. My other fic, enigmatic kalopsia is somewhere in Nagano prefecture (I forgot where exactly and I didn’t write it down huhu), but I went for the one nearest to Niigata prefecture, because it’s the neighboring prefecture that’s an hour by train.

we're wrapping up our year tonight with the annual no love for ned 'best of...' show where we actually look back at twenty years ago instead of the past year... so tune into wlur at 8pm for a special four hour look back at what i was playing on the radio in 2001.
we wrapped up our fall theme last week. all semester long we played tracks from left handed musicians (a status not as widely discussed as this lefty thought it would be). we heard tracks from sean padilla (the cocker spaniels), joan jett (the runaways), blake schwarzenbach (jawbreaker), dennis wilson (the beach boys), david bowie, courtney barnett, barbara lynn, and marky mark.
