Hey there! Already finish Daredevil season 3 (finally)
Yeah, I know, why the fuck did it take me so long? Well, first of all, it was out just when I was soooo busy. & then, when I started watching it, I wanted to enjoy it to the max, so I watched each episode twice before getting to watch the next episode, so technically, I've watched this season twice already. And that's because 1) I'm weird as fuck, when I've been expecting something for so long, I get scared it doesn't live up to my huge expectations, so yeah, I couldn't watch it right away because of fear (Man without fear wouldn't approve, haha) & 2) I didn't want to watch it too fast and get post season finale depression.
Well, that's why it took me a month to watch it. But it was SO WORTH IT.
Daredevil season 3 is the best season of television Marvel has ever put out. Period. Is the best Daredevil season. Everything is so beautifully pieced together. The writing is spectacular. The acting is NEXT LEVEL. The new characters introduced where beautifully constructed. We got to know Matt, Karen & Foggy better. Foggy is wearing three pieces suits!!! Karen could trust Foggy & Matt with her secret, at last!!! Matt met Maggie :-) ...
Okay. Here I have to give a special paragraph to special agent Rahul Nadeem. What an absolute treasure of a character. I was really confident the whole season SPOILER ALERT that he was going to be (because he had the potential to be) a regular Daredevil character, because he was so awesome, and then Poindexter happened and all my hopes and expectations were shattered into a million pieces. He is still a hero though. I will forever love him. And I'm still sad.
& about Ben Poindexter himself, I think he was very well done as the origins for Bullseye. There is an interesting future ahead for the character. All the sequences were he threw pointy things at everyone were soooo cool (& scary) and they really made me feel the essence of the character. It was well translated to live action. That final scene though... was very cheesy and it made me laugh, haha.
And finally sister Maggie. Wow. I really loved her. We needed someone to tell Matthew to stop being a drama queen and she does it spectacularly. And I can confess that a lot of the scenes where she gave beautiful speeches made me cry. I repeat, I love her. The sass is strong with this one.
(Damn, if I had space to talk about every character, but this would be endless)
In my opinion, one thing that makes this season superior to the other two previous ones is that, in this season, every two episodes I was left gasping, shaking and in shock. The rhythm of the story was very good. I didn't feel the story getting stagnant at any point. I didn't seem to find any plot holes either. And the music helped tremendously with setting the ambient and the tone of every scene.
Plus every episode has a very special and meaningful scene that I will treasure in my heart forever (just like it happened with that flashback scene in season 1, where Foggy and Matt were in law school, that scene warms my heart to this very day). So I have many favorite scenes from the season that are not just the fighting sequences but also very simple but heartfelt scenes like some of the ones between Matt & sister Maggie at the church. Almost all of the Foggy scenes make me the happiest. As soon as he appeared I started to smile. God, I am so proud of him.
I don't know if I will have the time, but I will like to pick my favorite scenes and post them in some way.
There was only one thing that bothered me this season. I was left really wanting to see how Matt got out of that taxi. I know that would have been probably too damn hard to film. But that doesn't mean that I don't want to see it still. It would have been really cool.
Oh and let's be honest, that explanation of how Matthew survived Midland Circle was very lame. But I'm able to forgive that.
In sum, I don't even know why after a month Daredevil hasn't been renewed for a fourth season. And with all that has happened, I am scared. It was a work of art.
