Wild Life SMP alliamces as Studio 100 shows
This one is for my Flemish and Dutch girlies out there.
1. Tuff Guys as Amika
Is this just because Bdubs is a horse girlie? Maybe. But Bdubs is Merel, Etho is Jan and Tango is Olivier and you can't convince me otherwise.
2. The Family as ROX
It's the car that does is, but Joel and Xavier are basically the same person of you ask me. Gem is Rick and Olivia combined.
3. RenWood Mount as Piet Piraat
It's just the general vibe. The yapping, their base that is now a lake and the fact that they play pirate rats in Rats SMP.
4. The Spanners as Hallo K3
Hear me out: Mumbo is Kristel, Skizz is Josje and Grian is Karen. Do I need to say more?
5. Bamboozlers as de Nachtwacht
One girl trying to keep two idiots safe.
6. The G's + BigB as Prinsessia
Maybe a bit of a stretch and I don't really know is BigB is really allies with the G's but it just feels fitting.
#yes I have a problem#please feel free to come with your own suggestions#but some a close to perfection if you ask me#trafficblr#wild life smp#please share with your flemish/dutch mcyt mutals they'll love this

the mystery of Vlad's hair
here i am once more, presenting a completely random Nachtwacht theory. but i guess this one actually makes sense??
So it is established that Vladimir is unable to see himself in a mirror. You know, due to the whole vampires-don't-appear-in-mirrors thing.
This is shown in The Bermadoe (season 2, episode 1) and The Monster (season 3, episode 1). The only time Vlad is able to appear visible in a mirror is during the episode The Safnari (season 2, episode 11) when he has been turned into a human, as well as his reflection showing in the theatre show The Dark Reflection (NL: Het Donkere Spiegelbeeld).
In that show, the Night Watch find a "rorrim" mirror (yes, they just named the mirror "mirror" but backwards) - a magical mirror which means even vampires can see themself, according to Keelin. I guess it is implied this is the first time Vlad is able to see himself, because when he looks in the mirror for the first time he freaks out and doesn't even recognize himself. Then Vlad proceeds to talk about his facial features (his hair, his jawline and chin) as if he has never seen them before.
Anyway, all of this is a long way of saying I am curious as to how Vlad does his hair? I know, I know, this is a TV show so there's probably stylists on set who make sure every actor looks the part and I know Vlad's hair really is not the focus of the story, but for everything happening on screen should be an in-story explanation, right?? That said: how does Vlad do his hair?
I mean, he doesn't show up on mirrors so how does he manage his hair without being able to see what he's doing? This is where my little "theory" comes in.
Just like it has been established multiple times that Vlad does not have a reflection, it also has been established that he sleeps upside down in his closet.
This can be seen in The Master Vampire (season 2, episode 6) after Vega instructs Wilko to check up on Vlad.
And it is also mentioned by Wilko in The Dark Reflection, when he makes a comment about the way Vlad looks in the morning after he just came out of the closet.
Vladimir: "I didn't expect it... but I am the handsomest!"
Keelin: "The hands- *laughs* Take another look in the mirror when you just get out of bed"
Wilko: Out of the closet, you mean. Then you're like a scarecrow!"
My conclusion? The only way for Vlad to get his hair right is to sleep upside down. Logically thinking, gravity drags the hair down when he's hanging upside down, which results in Vlad's quiff hairstyle. So that's how I think Vlad manages his hair without being able to look in the mirror to style it.
That's all. Thank you for reading my rant :)
Side note in reference to this line:
Wilko: Out of the closet, you mean. Then you're like a scarecrow!"
I'm not saying I think it could be a "subtle" hint to Vlad being anything else but hetero, but I am saying that I will run with Wilko's comment and make a bisexual!Vlad headcanon simply because they mention "coming out of the closet" (even tho it is said in vampire-context)

helloo, its me, nachtwacht anon again :) i wanted to ask what program you used when you subtitled some episodes a couple years back!! ive gotten some of my english-speaking friends hooked and am thinking abt subbing some eps myself so i can show them :)
Hi there! I usually use Aegisub for subbing. It's got a bit of a learning curve but it's quite fast when you get used to it, and it allows you to be pretty precise with the timing. You'll have a softsub file once you're done there. After that, I use Handbrake to generate a hardsub if I feel like making one! I believe both programs are available on both Windows and Mac.
Best of luck! I'm very happy to see more people get into this show!

As an art history nerd I'll have to ask you 21 :P
Sorry for the late reply I could've sworn I did already but that was just in my mind sdlkfs
21. What’s your favorite period in art history, your favorite famous work and/or your favorite style of art? If you don’t know any that’s ok!
If I can pick anything, I'd say most of the work I love comes from the Golden Age of Illustration, which probably shows in my own artstyle :') I looooove the work of Arthur Rackham, Kay Nielsen and Edmund Dulac! And though I don't know if he's counted as an artist from that period (his work is definitely similar tho), of course there's also Anton Pieck! I guess this also answers the "favourite style" question!
If I have pick more famous periods/movements, it'd be Rococo and Art Nouveau! I love me some extremely decorated, nature inspired work <3
As for a favourite famous work.... that's a whole lot more difficult;; I really love the colours and lighting of "the Swing", but...it's just hard to pick any other that stands out more to me than others? De Nachtwacht (the Night Watch) was also incredible to see irl..... I should mention Rembrandt van Rijn as an artist I love as well actually.
I do have one painting that doesn't line up with anything I mentioned above that really impressed me, a modern artwork! I completely forgot who made it tho, it was a really big painting that was just 1 tone of Ultramarine. I saw it when I visited a modern art museum in Germany with school. I couldn't stop staring at it, and now I'm slightly obsessed with that colour;;

You were obsessed with the twilight saga,
I was obsessed with weird Dutch fanasy/mystery tv shows.
We are very similar but I am Dutch don't like romance.
[The shows I can remember adoring: Nachtwacht, Katten Oog, the one with the adopted children and the actors playing the parents actually being married irl. I'm sure there were more.]

Main characters of a not-super-well-known Dutch/Belgian kids tv show (Keelin, Vlad & Wilko from Nachtwacht)
Antagonist from a musical that was only on broadway for 1 month in 2011 (the Mad Hatter from Wonderland)
One of the antagonists from a book series by Thea Stilton that was never translated into English (Tempestia the witch of weather and wind from the witches of fantasia series)
im curious and i wanna hear about everyone's most obscure fandragons. i do not mean "background character in fairly popular anime" give me shit that probably no one else on the site will ever have, and very few people if any would recognize. one of mine is based on an hour-long album of a guy doing prank calls with wacky vocal effects

I'm gonna go on a rant about how no one researched my favorite vampire boy's powers
Anyone who lands on my account knows this is about Studio100 and you probably know who I'm talking about. It's my boy Vladimir.
Not only did no one research his powers they didn't research anything. As a lot of you know vampires have a few core traits but they have 50.000.000 more that we don't appreciate enough. This man could solve literally all the problems that have ever arisen from the depths. And they did done him dirty.
The few things they gave him are invisibility, lightning speed, half-assed hypnosis. That's it.
Now I'm gonna start getting real mad because this is a comprehensive list of everything vampires can historically do.
Vampires are known for being able to easily hypnotize whom the fuck they want. And it's very hard to break free, after centuries of having this skill it should be damn near perfected.
Vampires can also turn into bats however which type of bat seems highly up to interpretation. Some stories in history say that it has to be one of the three vampire bat species, and others say it can be any bat. But no matter how you twist it Vlad should be able to turn into a bat at will, without requiring any assistance.
Vampires also have the weird power to conjure up and dispel mist, whether this is magical or natural in its occurrence.
They have heightened senses and sensitivity all throughout history as well. Often trying to hide away from the sun as much as possible and being able to sense things, magical or otherwise.
They are well known for their shape-shifting techniques, being able to not only turn into their secondary form of a bat but also that of other animals or even in some portrayals, humans.
For a little break between listing powers and giving some more lore, we now have the big 'how' question. How does one historically become a vampire? The answers tend to be bites but this seems very unlikely as he turned exactly on his 21st birthday. And there's a clear difference in age between him and his father. There's also contagion, in which vampirism kind of works like a virus, sorcery, essentially being cursed to live out your days as a vampire. Or suicide. As he seems generally liked and it doesn't travel like a virus and he hasn't been bitten, that's probably what happened. But the creators of the show just glossed over that I guess. Even though that could be like the best character development you can get in these kinds of shows.
Now we have some other ways to find out if someone is a vampire and how they were portrayed. Vampires are cool to the touch as it's essentially a living brain controlling a dead body but keeping it alive enough to keep the nerves intact and make sure the vessel it resides in doesn't rot. They have constantly red eyes and this can never be covered up, no matter what they do their eyes will remain red. And while it is touched upon in the show that he doesn't cast a reflection in the mirror, he also doesn't have a shadow and can't show up on film or photo.
Vampires cannot under any circumstances cross running bodies of water, and can never enter a house unless previously invited in.
They all seem to have some sort of OCD, constantly counting and recounting everything even for no reason. They do it because they just don't know anything else.
Back to the beginning subject of this rant.
They have unnatural healing abilities, can control animals, telepathy, telekinesis, and usually(and logically) night and heat vision.
They often encompass a strange beauty, while objectively remaining attractive they also have something that a human could never put their finger on.
They have very pointy ears, akin to those of elves.
They have the power of flight, or at least levitation.
Vampires can live perfectly mentally healthy lives other than their hereditary OCD problem, which doesn't seem to be the case after all these years but whatever.
(Nice thing to note: based on his clothes and age estimate Vlad would probably be a Slavic Victorian child. Living around Romania. And Slavic vampires are seen in their respective culture to be able to transform into butterflies)

Nachtwacht edit mistakes
before i get into the mistakes i want to preface that i personally don't mind these "mistakes". it shows the series is made by people and people make mistakes, simple as that. anyway, here are some errors I spotted.
The Panther Creature (season 1, episode 1)
This is not necessarily an editing mistake, but more of "huh?" moment, I guess. Let me explain.
Here, Vlad just hung up the phone after getting a call from Wilko who called to tell them he's stuck in jail at Cooper's office. Keelin is listening to the conversation of Ella and a newly arrived guest.
A few seconds later, Vlad returns to grab Keelin while putting on his coat. They head to the back. The camera turns to focus on Ella and her conversation with the guest.
But then Vlad and Keelin are seen sneakily leaving the inn at the front door as Ella calls out for Vlad to help the guest with her luggage.
But how did Keelin and Vlad get there so fast? This is the scene as its shown in the episode:
I didn't edit this clip. Keelin and Vlad are seen going through the kitchen, which means they ended up in the private room. And also, what were they doing in the private room? Maybe let Vega know they were heading outside, that's possible. But then how did they get to the front door so quick? As far as I can tell, there are only 3 ways to leave the private room:
enter the secret room (through the wardrobe)
return back to the kitchen (through the door)
go outside (through window)
In the GIFs below you can see a doorway between the front door and the kitchen so theoretically that could lead to the private room and be a clever way for Vlad and Keelin to sneak out. Except, as I already mentioned, there are only 3 ways out of the private room. I never see another door that leads back to the inn's main room.
The Master Vampire (season 2, episode 6)
Keelin and Wilko discuss plans and decide to split up to find Vlad. So Keelin heads for the gate of the village square. She's not wearing a jacket.
In the next shot, Keelin busy trying to locate Vlad.
But now she is wearing her jacket. I know I'm nitpicking, and of course she could've gone back to get her jacket but they were in such a hurry to find Vlad so I don't find that a pausible explaination?
Tarantula (season 5, episode 3)
After Sacha told them about meeting a woman in the forest who was looking for Keelin, Vlad and Wilko, Vlad tells them about Tarantula. Wilko decides they should go look for her. They leave the inn immediately.
Next time we see the gang, they're in the forest. And Vlad is suddenly wearing his coat while he didn't grab it when they left the inn.
They continue to walk through the forest. Eventually they stumble upon Cooper who is standing next to one of Tarantula's giant spider webs. And Vlad is not wearing his coat.
The Day of the Blood Moon
This "mistake" is just a split second moment in the movie and it took me several rewatches to spot this. It's a scene from the third Night Watch movie and its also part of the end battle, thus the shots are all fast-paced.
(*spoilers ahead*) For context: Wilko, Rhea and Lupino catch Bardal with a net. They have to hold him down until the lunar (or solar?) eclipse has passed. during this eclipse the werewolves transform into a more wolf-ish form.
When they catch Bardal, Wilko's arms are covered with fur, he got claws (or very long, sharp nails?) and his face looks a bit different because of the more wolf-ish transformation.
Just seconds later, in a different shot, Wilko's arms are bare, no claws and his face is back in its usual werewolf transformation.
And then frames later, he is back to the more extreme werewolf form.
Seconds later, the eclipse has passed and all werewolves are back to their normal self, including Wilko who has changed into his usual transformation.
anyway. these were just little things i noticed. I hope you enjoyed reading all this about just minor Nachtwacht things :)
comment if you know any other edit "errors" like this in Nachtwacht.
