“You are so fucking lucky I love you,” you mutter as you walk into a frat party with your best friend, Mina. She wouldn’t stop pestering you about ‘coming out of your shell’ and ‘loosening up.’

“Yeah, yeah. You’ll thank me later, babe. And don’t worry, I’m the DD tonight. Have fun, seriously.” she smiles. You’d be lying if you said that deep down - very deep, like in the abyss of your soul - you weren’t grateful for her making you leave your room, where she thought you’d live forever if she didn’t have a say.

“Oo, lookie!” Mina exclaims as she points out two guys leaning against the kitchen island. Lee Minho and you’ve gotta be kidding me,

“Mina, no. You’ve got me fifty shades of fucked up if you think I’m gonna go talk to Han,” you make a face at the bitter taste of his name.

“You haven’t even spoken to him in what,” she counts on her fingers, “…8 months?

“Mina, I don’t think getting coffee at the same shop counts as talking.” you roll your eyes, “He’s a complete dickhead who has absolutely no consideration for others,” Mina shrugs and grabs your arm before dragging you over towards the two men despite your protests.

You immediately catch Jisung’s attention, watching as a small smirk tugs on his lips.

“Ah, Mina! How are you?” Minho beams at your best friend.

While they get caught up in their conversation you look around and spot a tray of Jell-O shots sitting on the counter unattended. Shrugging your shoulders, you pick one up and down it with zero hesitation.

Without even registering it, you consume three in less than two minutes. At least you’re enjoying yourself, right?

“I’d be careful if I were you, nabi.” You cringe at the nickname as Jisung’s voice cuts through the music playing in the background. You turn around to face him with a groan.

“I’m not in the mood, Han.” you grab another shot.

“Ouch. Back to last names, are we?” Jisung clutches his chest in mock pain, earning an eye roll from you. You glance over at Mina - or rather, where she was standing five minutes ago.

“Where’d they go?” You nod towards the now empty space.

“Probably going to fuck,” he shrugs, “Who knows?”

You huff and cross your arms over your chest.

“Oh come on, nabi. You can’t avoid me forever.” Your cheeks redden in annoyance.

“I can and I will actually. Also, stop calling me that.”

He scoffs as you walk away with yet another shot in your hand.

After a few moments of hesitation, he reluctantly follows you. “Wait. Can we ta-“

Jisung cuts himself off at the sight of you dancing with some guy from his fraternity, his hands on your hips as you sway them to the beat. Something in Jisung’s chest twists and a pit forms in his stomach. Shaking his head and pushing down his feelings, he turns to walk away.

Not worth it, Ji.

That is until he hears your laugh. Your sweet, gentle, angelic laugh. Sparked by someone who looks like they’d forget your name before he even gets what he wants from you.

Fuck. All. That.

Jisung downs the rest of his beer and stalks towards the two of you.

“Get your fucking hands off my girl.” he glares at the other man.

Jisung ignores him and snatches your wrist and drags you away, careful not to let you fall.

“J - Han get off of me,” you sputter as you attempt to set yourself free as he guides you upstairs to a vacant bedroom.

“I am not yours, asshole.” you wipe your palms down your dress in order to try to make it stretch a little more past your thighs. The movement doesn’t go unnoticed by Jisung who has to force himself to tear his eyes away from your curves. Curves that he’s dreamt of holding underneath his fingertips for years.

“Why won’t you have one conversation with me? You’re acting like we weren’t inseparable two years ago,” Jisung runs a hand through his already disheveled hair. He’s not sure if it’s the alcohol giving him confidence or if it’s his physical need to be as close as he can to you.

“You left, what did you expect to happen?” you let out once your mind starts to uncloud.

Jisung advances towards you, the beat of the music downstairs matching your racing pulse. With each step he takes, your heart knots tighter and tighter. Once he reaches you he places his hand on the wall beside you, caging you in.

Your senses heighten and the intensity of his gaze forces you to shrink yet you carry on, “You didn’t even care about what I had to say about it. In fact, I didn’t even know you were going until three hours before your flight took off.”

Your words are like a knife to his abdomen.

He searches your eyes for something - anything - other than pain.

Nothing.

The knife twists in his gut.

You don’t realize you’re crying until Jisung’s hand comes up to brush your tears off of your cheeks.

“I’ve hated myself everyday for the past two years, nabi. I thought of coming back to you but..” he trails off.

“Ji, don’t do this to me. I can’t. Please.” your voice shakes more than you would like it to as you try to warrant off more tears. You’ve always been an emotional drunk, but this? This is next level.

“You know, the moment I found out where you were going to college I immediately applied there? And then I applied to every college in the area, just in case I didn’t get accepted,” his voice drops to a mere whisper, “I did it because I wanted to fix us. I want to fix us.”

Your mouth falls slightly agape as you attempt to process the absolute bomb he just threw at you,

“It would’ve been easier if I hadn’t..” you cut off and wipe your mascara-stained cheeks, tilting your head back against the wall and closing your eyes. You’re too afraid to acknowledge the truth.

You’ve always been too afraid.

Though, you aren’t very sure what the truth is, exactly.

Jisung leans in and speaks softly into your ear, “I fell in love, too.”

Your eyes flutter open to see him nose-to-nose with you.

Warmth that has nothing to do with the amount of alcohol you’ve consumed spreads throughout you, head to toe, and something velvety skates along your soul.

“Butterflies,” you mumble unwittingly.

Jisung smiles softly and leans his forehead against yours.

“Can you find somewhere in that big, beautiful heart for me?” he looks down and threads his fingers with yours.

“No need,” you smile, “it was all yours to begin with.”

Caffeine can be addictive, it can cause insomnia too. And if a person consumes it almost daily, it can be hard to live without it.

How I wish my mother knew that. Because, if she did, I wouldn't have grown up with caffeine, and wouldn't drink it everyday. Wouldn't need to buy it from my local cafe nor would I be standing here. Outside the University students’ favorite cafe.

Refresh & Recharge Cafe

It was famous for being a comforting place, with students inside, studying and spending alone time, or hanging out with friends.

When I was in my hometown, there was a local cafe I really liked going to. It was calm, the owner even had a black cat which I loved.

But since I came to Seoul to study in KQ University, I keep missing both the coffee and the cat, her name was Nabi.

So now, as I stood in front of the Cafe, my heart was racing. I slowly stepped in and saw a small line, about 5 people, in front of the counter. I stood in the line.

I always heard all of my friends talking about their ‘barista’ crushes. Unfortunately, I never had one. Probably because an old couple ran the place. They were Nabi’s owners too. They normally worked there. So, I never really had a barista Crush.

Though, I loved seeing the couple. They treated me like their granddaughter. They were always so playful, romantic with each other.

Anyways, back to the present. There were just 2 more people in front of me.

“Caramel Macchiato with an extra shot of espresso.” I recited in my mind as another lady took her order and left the line.

There was another guy in front of me, blond hair. I couldn't see his face as he was wearing a mask.

“The regular.”

The guy in front of me muttered to the barista and the barista chuckled.

“When will you order something else, Sang?”

The barista, who's face I couldn't see yet as the guy in front of me was tall, spoke.

“Probably after you get a girlfriend” The guy muttered, grabbing his drink and leaving. The barista scoffed.

They probably knew each other, might be friends, might even be bro-SHIT. I forgot it's my turn.

I looked up at the barista, about to speak. But his looks stopped me. Beautiful eyes, sweet smile, a small mole under his eye. Kissable lips and a very boopable nose-

“Ma’am, can I get your order?”

The barista snapped his fingers.

Fuck, this is embarrassing.

I straightened up and said, “oh, yes, sorry. Can I have a Caramel macchiato with an extra shot of espresso, please”

He smiled, cute, before replying, “it'll take about 3 minutes.”

I nodded, watching him prepare the drink. He then handed it to me. I muttered a soft ‘thank you’ before sitting down on a table.

So is this how it feels to have a barista crush? I mean, he's pretty attractive. But I don't know anything about him. Not even his name. So I don't think so.

I had a weird relationship with Love. The person I had a crush on in high school had a crush on another person. She even came to me asking for advice to confess to her crush. I was, shockingly, not sad.

And yeah, I did have a crush on a girl. I'm Pansexual. I came out to my parents in my last year of high school.

While my father said it was fully my choice who I like and that he didn't have any problem, my mother just said, and I quote, “You can love whoever you want, and you can marry whoever you want. Just maybe adopt a child if your lover or you can't carry one. That's also optional by the way”

So, I guess, I'm lucky to have parents like them. My older brother however, told me to be careful even if I date someone of the same danger. He said “gender doesn't matter, a psychopath isn't always a man, nor is it always a woman. It can be non-binary or gender fluid.”

I understood what he was trying to say but you gotta agree with me, that was weird wording.

I took a sip of my macchiato, looking out the glass wall. It was a calming early September afternoon. Although Seoul was a rather busy city, it was calming in this part of the city.

I kept browsing through my brain for a new story idea while watching the scenery and sipping coffee.

Finally, as his shift ended, Wooyoung went and sat down at the table his best friend was sitting at. Yeosang finally looked away from his laptop and up at Wooyoung.

“Done staring?”,He nagged.

Scoffing, Wooyoung replied, “I wasn't staring at you, stop dreaming”

Yeosang rolled his eyes. “I wasn't talking about you staring at me, you dumbass. That girl. You were staring at her.” he gestured towards her in a way others won't understand.

“Me? Staring at who?”

“Gosh, you're so stupid. That girl. The one who was in line behind me, that one you have been staring at while making the coffees.” Yeosang sipped his own latte.

“I-I just thought she was pretty, okay? It's not a big deal…” Wooyoung drifted off.

“But dear Wooyo, don't you realize that your fangirls got very jealous of her? They were furious. I'm surprised they didn't actually try to do anything stupid.”, Yeosang teased.

“Come on! They aren't my fangirls, I'm not some typa celebrity. They just…like my coffee, I guess” Wooyoung explained, knowing really well that wasn't the truth.

“Yeah sure, it's the coffee.” Yeosang sarcastically claimed.

Wooyoung sighed, looking back at the girl one last time. because their cafe served very quickly and right in the line, they never took names. Which Wooyoung was regretting now.

“I wonder what's her name…” he thought while looking at her.

Suddenly, Yeosang made a camera gesture with his fingers and pretended to click a picture.

“Caught in 4k, motherfucker” he smirked and Wooyoung just facepalmed. He couldn't believe that this was his high school best friend. Or maybe he couldn't not believe it.

He looked out the window, taking in the calm atmosphere. Watching the trees carefully, he could tell that it was a windy afternoon. Thank God, he brought his jacket with him.

And there we have it! The first chapter of Brewing Love Next Door. This series was supposed to start way earlier but the drafts got deleted twice 😞 so I also changed up the story a little bit. This is just the beginning and we have a lot more to see! Have a great day!

“I’m not much of a morning person,” Katara said with a self-deprecating smile. “And I didn’t get much sleep last night, so I crashed pretty much as soon as we started sailing. I’m Katara, by the way.”

“Oh, I’m aware,” Ji-Ho laughed again. “Master Katara, the leader of prison revolts, hero of the Hundred Years war, kingmaker.” Katara blinked in surprise.

“I have a daughter a few years younger than you,” Ji-Ho explained. “She’s been learning about the Hundred Years War, and there’s a section about you. She’s been starry-eyed ever since she found out you’d be traveling on this ship. She’s dying to meet you.”

“Really?” Katara was genuinely shocked. The war had ended some six years earlier, and she knew that history books were already being written and taught, but she was surprised to find that she had made her way into any of them. Since the war ended, and all through her relationship with Aang, she had been treated like a footnote. The woman behind the man…way behind. The idea that children might be learning her name and about her contributions to the war- small as they may have been in the long run- was jarring.

“Wait,” she said, wrinkling her nose. “Kingmaker?” Ji-Ho nodded emphatically.

“After all,” she said, “without you, Fire Lord Zuko wouldn’t be on the throne right now. Or that’s how Nabi puts it.” Katara’s face flushed a bright red. Zuko had never been shy about crediting Katara with saving his life, so she wasn’t surprised that so many people knew, but was she really being called a kingmaker?

“Well,” Katara cleared her throat. “I’d love to meet your daughter.” Ji-Ho’s face lit up with a bright smile, and Katara decided she liked the friendly woman.

“She is in the middle of her lessons at the moment, but please, feel free to join us for lunch. I’ll let the chef know you’ll be eating with us.” Ji-Ho gave Katara direction to her family’s suite and then with a friendly goodbye, left Katara to her reading.

Katara arrived at the captain’s suite ten or so minutes before lunch was due to be served. Ji-Ho opened the door with an excited, conspiratorial smile as she beckoned the younger woman inside. If Katara’s room was the second best on the ship, it was a distant second. The captain’s suite was made up of four rooms; the captain’s bedroom, the sitting room, another smaller bedroom on the other side of the sitting room, and a bathroom. The room was full of light from wide windows on the far wall. It wasn’t exactly the height of luxury, but it was comfortable and welcoming. A young girl of about 13 sat at the table in the middle of the room.

“Nabi,” Ji-Ho said in a sing-songy voice. “We have company.” Nabi glanced up and her face twisted in confusion.

“Hi,” Nabi greeted Katara uncertainly. “Are you one of the crew?” Katara felt her insides twist uncomfortably. Maybe Ji-Ho was mistaken about her daughter’s level of interest in Katara.

“No, silly,” Ji-Ho laughed. “I told you there was another passenger on the ship, and I invited her for lunch. Meet Master Katara.” Nabi’s face was blank as she stared at Katara for a long moment. Katara reeled off all the plausible excuses she could think of to get out of this lunch. Shame on her, she thought, for thinking anyone cared that much about what her part in ending the war was-

“No way,” Nabi whispered. She looked between her mother and Katara and back several times. “No. Way!” She stood up and seemed to stall, as if she didn’t know whether or not to approach Katara. “I-I-I…”

“Breathe, Nabi,” Ji-Ho went over and nudged her daughter.

“you're hardly ever around, but when you do show up, you're breathtaking,” he admits, even now, knowing you didn't put any effort into your image. even now, being a quarter of what you were before. even now, working at 5%, sunk to shit. he finds you special..., pretty.

he takes your silence as an answer. his hand now caresses your chin, and you see him move closer. resting his lips on yours, he begins to kiss you. but it doesn't last long, because you break it. “i have to go.”

you curse yourself so much that you lose count. unaware of your surrounding and finding yourself in a pit (that you dig yourself) so deep that you forget what you have come for, rubbing your head because it looks like it is going to burst.

you don't see him approaching. he doesn't say a word, neither do you, when he drags you to his car. bodies colliding against the passenger sit door as his face comes closer.

he laughs, without a hint humor, pressing you against the car, pinning you in his embrace. watching him breathe ragged, showing how irritated he was, yet..., hands softly placed on your waist. “you should know by now. i don't share” eyes amusingly glaring at your lips, part open due to shocked events. words burning on his, marking itself on you, echoing as if you had heard them before. having a place in your memory, once lost in a burning house but now in ruins, remembered.

following the LGC GIRLS VARIETY SURVEY done a few weeks ago, NA PD has invited those who have filled the survey to participate in a new MNET VARIETY SHOW: LGC GIRLS BREAKER. in this 10 episodes show, the girls will be divided in 3 teams (CRYSTALLIS, FABULA and NOVA) who will compete for the BREAKER title in various categories. here are the participants of each team:

EPISODE 1: JAPAN TRIP

through the month of july, each team will meet NA PD individually. they will be told that the production team has taken a look at their survey and have decided to make their wishes come through, starting by sending all the girls to TOKYO, JAPAN for 3 days and 2 nights trip, since many of the girl wanted to travel! they will leave on AUGUST 26 and stay at the famous hotel HOSHINOYA TOKYO where the production team will have reserved two floors or the girls and accompanying staff.

they will have the late afternoon and early evening free to visit tokyo and do whatever they want to in small groups, all followed by their own camera crew. in the evening, the girls will reunite at the hotel well the production crew will have organized a buffet feast with japanese specialities.

on the morning of the second day, the girls will embark on a bus that will take them to the currently active RYŌGOKU KOKUGIKAN, home of sumo. they will be given a tour of the venue and a short history of sumo before reaching the main hall where a twist will be revealed; the true purpose of the trip is to film a competition that will have TEAM CRYSTALLIS, TEAM FABULA and TEAM NOVA compete against each other on the ryogoku kukgikan ring.

EPISODE 2-5: IN THE RING

in their variety survey, the girls had to name a skill or sport they were confident no one could beat them in. this inter team competition is to determine if the girls are truly masters of their pick or not! if a girl manages to defend her title of 'master' her team will received ONE CARD, if a girl from a competiting team manages to win over the title, her team will receive TWO CARDS, if another girl from the same team as the 'master' wins over the title, their team wil receive ONE AND A HALF card. the purposes of these cards will be revealed later! for each 'challenge' a minimum of 2 members and a maximum of 3 may represent their team, only for the 'masters' of each skill it is mandatory to be part of a challenge

CHALLENGE: CUP FILLING

a game where the competitors will have to fill a cup of water will their eyes folded. the person who manages to fill theirs the most without any spilling wins. mandatory for 'water cup master' yang aeri of team nova.

CHALLENGE: SPEED TALKING/TONGUE TWISTERS

a game where the competitors not only have to properly pronounce korean tongue twisters, they must do so as quickly as possible. the person who manages to pronounce the tongue twister the fastest (each attempt will be timed) wins the round. the winner is determined once a person has 3 wins. Mandatory for 'tongue twister masters' yamashita ichika of team crystallis and son nabi of team nova and 'speed talking master' moon hayoung of team fabula.

CHALLENGE: HIGH NOTE

competitors stand in line and each person must sing higher than the previous girl sang. if they do not manage it or their voice crack, they are eliminated. the game keeps going until only one person is left. mandatory for 'high note master' park taeha of team fabula.

CHALLENGE: MEMORIZING CHOICES

during this game, the non competing members will be given a topic and will have to draw on a white board their choice (example: the topic is 'coffee order' and park yumi writes 'flat white'). competitors will have 20 seconds to memorize each girl's choices. the person who manages to get each girl and their order correct the fastest (each attempt will be timed) wins the round. the winner is determined once a person has 3 wins. mandatory for 'coffee orders master' gong hyejoo of team crystallis

CHALLENGE : LIMBO/FLEXIBILITY

a game of limbo to test the girls' flexibility. the bar will progressively get lower. anybody who touches the ground or make the bar fall is eliminated. Keeps going until only one person is left. mandatory for 'limbo master' lee minji of team fabula and 'flexibility master' watanabe miyu of team nova

CHALLENGE: BOY GROUP DANCES

snippet of random boy group songs will be played, the fastest to guess the correct group and song title will have to dance the keypoint of the choreo (i.e: usually the chorus). if they fail at any of these, chance is given to the other competitors to give their guesses and try the choreo. Winner is determined once a person has 3 wins. mandatory for 'kpop dances master' seo yura and 'boygroup dances master' moon somin of team crystallis

including breaks and various set up changes, filming is expected to last until early evening. the girls will be given the evening off, no cameras filming. as long as they keep their managers updated, they will be allowed to do what they want on this second night.

EPISODE 5-8: MIGHT AND BRAIN

on the third morning, the girls will once again hop on a bus that will take them to a sports center this time. they will be asked to get off the bus one by one, after which the staff will blindfold them and deafen them with headphones andtake them to an unspecified location inside the building. once they will be allowed to take their headphones and blindfolds off, they will find themselves with 2 or 3 of their teammates in either a room with various monitors and a microphone or a large closed office, where, on the desk are in-ear pieces of each girl inside the room.

NA PD will then inform them that the girls inside the OFFICES are acting as AVATARS of those inside the MONITOR ROOMS. their goal is to help the girls currently inside the offices clear various challenges to either gain a key to escape a room or gain a clue to find the next key until they find the key to actually free the girls the monitor rooms who hold the last key to escape the building! the first team to escape will receive 8 CARDS, the second team will received 4 CARDS and the last one will get only a SINGLE CARD.

each team will go through around 10 ROOMS before being able to free the girls in the monitor rooms, beginning in an escape room in the form of an office. after deciphering a cypher hidden inside a pencil holder, the girls will be able to unlock the computer, after searching through the files on the computer, they will find a 4 digit code that will unlock a safe hidden behind a painting where they'll find the key to escape this first room.

the following rooms will vary in order and type. some teams will go through same rooms, while others might never come near them. we will not elaborate on each rooms, only those where teams will definitely go through:

INDOOR TOP ROPE CLIMBING ROOM (mandatory: team nova):

the avatar girls will have to climb a 30 feet tall wall and unlock the vault where the key is kept. hints for the combination of the code are found all over the wall at different level. teams will find a mix of numbers and basic math symbols. monitor team will be in charge of solving the mathematical equation.

SWIMMING POOL ROOM (mandatory: team fabula, team nova):

the avatar girls will be seated on ejectable seats while the monitor team will have to answer random trivia questions. If the monitor team gets the answer wrong, all avatar girls will be ejected in the pool. monitor team must give 5 correct answers in a row to escape the room.

MYSTERY BOX ROOM (mandatory: team crystallis, team nova):

what's in the box challenge where the monitor girls will be given a hint of what's in the box (example: the hint is food, once the box is revealed, there are pealed grapes in it) and pick which girl would be good at guessing it. each avatar can only go once in a single round and are only allowed one person guessing their item wrong. should more than one girl be wrong, they'll have to do another round. results are only given at the end of the round.

KARAOKE ROOM (mandatory: team crystallis, team nova):

avatar girls will get to pick a song to sing on a karaoke machine. the song must be from another lgc group/a song they haven't participated in (example: crystallis may pick a fabula, nova, lgc girls fn song. they may also pick a recent lgc girls japan song since none of the members were in, but songs from the first release aren't allowed). to pass the challenge, they must get a minimum score of 95. however, some of the lyrics will be missing and the monitor girls will be the ones in charge of filling the blanks in real time.

GHOST ROOM (mandatory: team fabula):

each avatar girls will have to go through a large dark decrepit old gymnasium storage room while holding a camera. hidden behind boxes and mats are people dressed in ghost. the avatar girls' goal is to reach the end of the room without being caught by the ghosts. if or when caught, the girls will be returned to the entrance. to leave the room, they need to give a password at the door. hints of this password are hidden on walls, boxed, and various objects that can only be clearly seen through the camera feed by the monitor girls. each girl may go once per round. after each round, a hint is added to help guess the password.

ASMR ROOM (mandatory: team crystallis):

a rest room. here, all the avatar girls must prepare and eat a snack (example: peel eggs, prepare ramen, eat chips, open a can of drink, ect) without exceeding 35 decibels. the challenge can only be completed once each avatar girl has eaten one snack and drank one drink.

CHILDREN'S ROOM (mandatory: team fabula):

avatar girls will  have to play games against actual children! monitor girls will be in charge of picking one game at which they believe their avatars can win against children. the choices are: red light green light, tops (paengi), rubber band game and gonggi. avatars only need to win one game, however, for each game lost, they get their forehead flicked by the kids.

HIDE AND SEEK ROOM (mandatory: team crystallis, team nova):

in a very large props storage room, the avatars will get 30 seconds to hide from a staff member. their goal is not get found until the monitor girls guess correctly how many 'la' are in a given nova song (possible songs: rising, girls' capitalism, generation, draw (my time), play love game). if the monitor girls don't manage to guess the correct answer before all the avatar girls are found, the game starts again with a new song.

STAMINA ROOM (mandatory: team fabula):

in a gym with various equipment, each avatar girls must challenge one coach in an exercise they are confident in (example: wall chair). meanwhile, the monitor girls will be given a chance to help their avatars by playing deaf guessing game, where one person must try to get another one to guess a word just by reading their lips. for each word they get right, the competing coach gets 2 pounds added on them.

RELAY RACE ROOM (mandatory: all):

on a track field, the avatar girls will have to run through various obstacles holding a rolled up paper. once they reach the next girl, they must unroll that paper and tell the monitor girls the word on it, meawhile the monitor girls have 5 seconds to say one related word to it (example: first word is 'beach', the monitor girls say 'sun', 'sand', 'sunscreen'). should the monitor girls fail to get the words in the allocated time, the avatar must go back to her starting point, pick a new roll and go through her obstacle again. once the monitor girl succeeds, the next avatar girl can finally go ahead. first obstacle: jump on one foot. second obstacle: wear and inflated suit. third obstacle: jump to get a bite of ring corn snack dangling from a string.

ARTS ROOM (mandatory: team crystallis):

monitor girls are given 45 seconds to describe a word to an avatar girl who will have to draw what the monitor girls tell her (word example: an apple). monitor girls cannot use the word or any word related to it (example: say 'fruit' in the case of apple) to help the person drawing. after time has ran out, the other avatar girls have 45 seconds to guess the word. the group passes as soon as they guess one word correctly.

after filming this segment, the girls will fly back to korea. winners will be announced at the end of the event.

EPISODE 9-10: GLAMPING

finally, on SEPTEMBER 2 the girls will be heading to 67 VILLAGE for a 1N2D glamping retreat! upon arrival, they will learn that the cards they've been collecting are for a FOOD BINGO. they will be allowed to fill as many cards as they are given with food items. meanwhile, a buffet with corresponding food will be set up for the other guests of the resort who will get to pick only one item. what they pick will decide which 'food' comes out on the girls' cards. the fastest team to get a bingo will received 150,000 won, the second team 100,000 won and the third 50,000won, all to use on groceries. winners will be announced at the end of the event.

the rest of the time will be used by each team to cook various dishes that the whole group will share in the evening. after their meal, all the girls will get to sit in a circle and discuss memories of filming, hopes for the future for lgc girls or anything they want to share about this experience. finally, they will get to hang out in mix and match groups in their tents.

She knew she should stop. She knew it. Stop staring at him like a fucking stalker Bella it's creepy her inner voice was screaming at her. But she just couldn't help but stare at him as he slept like a baby in her lap. It had almost been a few weeks since they saw each other. Of course, they called and face timed but it didn't hit the same as being in each other's arms. He felt like home. He was home for her. She felt safe in his arms.

“Take a picture love, it’ll last longer” his voice snapped her back to reality. Flustered, she turns to look at the scenery before her. The boy in her lap laughs at the scarlet color slowly painting her cheeks. Getting up from her lap, he looks at her fondly as she tries to not make eye contact with him. Reaching up to put that one strand of hair behind her ear, they make eye contact and he gives her a small smile. There's that smile. That smile that sets off fireworks in her. He always makes sure to fluster her somehow intentionally or not.

Here’s lore about Eugene’s mother, Nabi :3 (Eugene is the name of skids dad in my AU)

THERE IS SOME TRIGGERING TOPICS LIKE ABUSE AND CHILD DEATH AND DEATH SO BE AWARE!!

Nabi and Nari were born in Korea in 1941. But by the time they were 7, North Korea was established. Before things got rough, in 1949 their father had managed to get their family out of North Korea, technically making them defectors I believe. So, they left when the Ryong twins were 8.

They managed to get to America by age 12. Though, at first, it was difficult for the Ryong family to fit in and get around without going completely homeless. But, their father managed to start a business which turned out to become really big, making them pretty wealthy within a few years.

When the girls were 19, their family was invited to a big party that the mayor was throwing (Their father practically became best friends with the mayor at the time.) At this party, this is where Nabi would meet Harold Seymour.

A city official, age 21, was standing in the corner of the ballroom, alone with only a glass of wine in hand. Nabi had noticed him from the corner of her eye, it seemed like she felt mesmerized by him just by first glance. She made her way over to him, and the two started to talk.

They seem to hit it off right away, when it came time that the party was finished. Harold took Nani’s hand and placed a kiss. He told her that he hopes to be “graced by her beauty once more in the future” and said his farewells, leaving Nabi absolutely love-strikten.

Only a couple of days later they had ran into eachother again when Nabi was taking an evening stroll around the town. Harold and Nabi went back to her house so Harold could ask her father for permission to take her out on a date, which her father eagerly granted.

To the entire Ryong family (expect Nari), Harold came off as a young, charismatic, handsome, intelligent gentleman that had a good job and would be the best suitor for their sweet Nabi. Though, unfortunately it was all just an act. Unbeknownst to them, Harold was a heartless killer, a cult leader, a manipulative mind-controlling monster underneath his charming smile. He was only trying to wed Nabi for his own benefit, since he had the incapability to feel love.

2 weeks later, after Harold had spoiled Nabi in riches, compliments, and caring attention. He had asked her father for her hand in marriage, which unfortunately, Mr. Ryong granted him with his permission yet again.

Thus started a marriage that started out wonderfully for Nabi, but soon was turning dark as Harold started to show his true colors. Basically, for their entire marriage, he basically brainwashed Nabi into thinking that she was meant to serve him, be the loyal companion for him, made her think she would be nothing but dirt without him, forced his beliefs onto her, physically and mentally tortured her. Harold got under her skin in multiple ways and practically made her go insane with the shit he was doing. He practically made her submissive to anything for him, making her scared to even stand up for herself or He’d beat her.

However, despite their awful marriage, they had about 3 children before they eventually had Eugene. Keyword, had. Nabi got pregnant after her and Harold’s honey moon, giving birth to a beautiful baby boy. The poor boy only lived up to 5 years old before his body was found brutally mutilated in the forest just three days after he went missing. The Seymour family was grieving, well, Nabi was, unknown to her. It was her “loving” husband and the “caring” father of the now dead body who had committed the murder. He was just putting on the act of a father who had lost a child he had loved and cared for. But, He had tried to sacrifice the child for his little cult. The same thing happened with their 3 year old boy, who they had 2 years later. His head was found in a pond, his body was never discovered. Then about a year later, they had a girl, who Harold had sacrificed just when she turned 2 weeks old. Her body was never discovered.

Nabi didn’t have children for 10 years due to the grief and sadness she had been struck by. But, Harold managed to convince her to try one last time. That’s when she became pregnant with her 4th child, Eugene. However when she was pregnant, she discovered the horrible truth about Harold. She was mortified, but she couldn’t run. She grew up around others who were heavily against divorce. She didn’t want to give birth to another child, only for him to kill and sacrifice to that..THING. She couldn’t get an abortion, because again, she grew up around people who were against it. And, she still somehow loved Harold.

So, she had to give birth to what was to her…”a demon baby.” Which turned her to basically force Eugene to be the perfect “holy church girl” and tried to pray the evil and demons away from her precious child. She did certainly care more for him than Harold did, but still. She was emotionally abusive towards Eugene. She had only gotten physical with him a few times, but usually she let Harold do the beatings. “Pain was good for the soul” in her eyes.

Nari, who was against Nabi and Harold’s relationship from the start. Harold had given Nari such awful vibes from the second Nabi pointed him out to her. For years she had tried to convince her sister that Harold was no good and was awful, then she realized she was basically getting no where with her sister. She had to watch her own sister become just as evil and awful as Harold was. So, that meant that she was the only real family Eugene had. Despite realizing her sister was an awful mother, Nari still wanted to save her from Harold. Nari still believed that her sister, the one she once knew was still in there. So, she still defended her with her life and soul.

After finding out about the affair Harold had in 1990, which sent her sister into a depression. She confronted Harold and they had an argument. Nari ended up blaming him for everything that Nabi and Eugene went through, yelling and screaming at him for ruining a girl who once had dreams and a life. Soon after, he had stabbed her to death and fed her body to eyes. Nari is still labeled as missing since Nabi was adamant about finding her and bringing her home, and there was no trace or evidence that she could be dead, but there was no evidence that she could be alive either.

After losing so much and causing havoc on her son’s life. He had ran away at age 18. 4 years later her husband was killed. Then, 6 years later, she found out where her son lived then tried to kill him and his newborn child, thinking that the only way to get the devil out now was to kill its vessel.

Lila had gotten home early and knocked her out, which resulted in her being taken into custody and sent to a mental institution, where she stayed there for years until she was deemed sane again, released when she was 72. It is unknown where she is now….or…is it?

Han Sohee is so cute. The vibe here is so different from My Name (Obviously) but still. Her character is def so like innocent and cute and herself. I like that she can be both awkward and cool. Bit Na is a good friend imo and also like a very herself kinda girl that I like. Min Sang really is horrible. It's very pathetic. Kyu Hyun is cute and ideal. I don't like though how he tells Bit Na to change just because he doesn't find it right. Then, maybe find a girl who is right for you or something. Or like her for who she is. Eun Han would get me if we were the same age. He's so earnest, straightforward, honest, sincere, and active. Do Hyeok is like Eun Han grown up. We like that more. We'd fall for that. Sol is suchh a good friend and like a lovely person. Ideal. Min Young is soo pretty.

It's interesting to hear Nabi's thoughts as she experiences life bc she just can't refuse her logic despite knowing how toxic the situation is. I've been in toxic and I didn't have active thoughts the way she did, but felt I was in something toxic, but if I had her thoughts, would I have been able to avoid it? I'm assuming not, but she seems a step ahead and still makes whatever choice she makes.

Jae Eon's speech when he first meets Nabi is too smooth for me to fall for. The romance here is kinda too cringe for me. I would definitely be confused by him though. His skinship and straightforwardness and honesty would make my heart flutter but the vibe and words makes me think he's a player.

The entire art vibe and the art students remind me of college. Even the Koreans leaving to smoke vibe. I liked the drinking night all the art students had together at Nabi's home. Everyone's so fun. I wish I had that kind of community back then. I think the art students are very idiosyncratic and themselves, and I actually like them a lot. I think they have great personalities in their own way. All very distinct but good. I love the weekend retreat. That's ideally something I would love to do. It's the perfect place for games and bonding. I love all the friends giving advice to each other without fully knowing what's going on. I like Nabi's bed area. I like Nabi's question about wanting to kiss someone relating to wanting to sleep with them, bc I find them to not equate each other. I like Bit Na and Kyu Hyun getting together, and how Bit Na really embraced it. The escape room seems so fun. That ferris wheel looks huge. I wanna ride.

     nina wasn’t sure what she was expecting to see upon first stepping foot into the room. she knew it’s purpose, had been momentarily briefed prior to making the trip there alongside one of the many production crew members she was sure she’d be seeing quite a lot in the near future. the trek there had been a quiet one, a journey through halls she’d come to know so well throughout her time as a trainee— the final destination being not simply a room, but a potential career defining moment.

     nina hadn’t taken the chance to try her hand at the previous season of future dreams, and for that, she still curses herself ( she’d been happy for nabis victory, but there was no denying the envy she’d felt once the younger girls concept and song had been revealed— nina had always been a sucker for uk garage ).

     she wouldn’t let an opportunity like that slip through her fingers again.

     it’s a bit difficult to see at first, the dim lighting playing tricks on her eyes thanks to just how bright the hallway outside had been, but it only takes a moment for her eyesight to adjust. nina takes a moment to look around the room as she makes her way towards her final destination— a plain table situated before a teleprompter, the spot in which she’s meant to stand being marked with an obvious x. truly, the room is cute, darkness being illuminated by all the soft pinks, purples, yellows, and blues. nina normally didn’t care for themes like space, but she could accept this. upon finally reaching the table, the materials laying on top of it cause nina to pause in question. were they not going to be made to perform anything for this?

     it’s only natural to do just that in a situation like this, but then she remembers— what need would there be to showcase skills now when staff was already well aware of what they were all capable of thanks to the time they’d now spent in this debut camp? briefly, nina wonders if the other female trainees not taking part in this bootcamp would have to perform anything.

     well, one less thing she needed to worry about.

     her brief train of thought quickly dissipates the moment nina sees movement on the teleprompter before her, a set of instructions clear to follow— introduce yourself. she stands tall, shoulders relaxed as an easy grin grows on her lips. “hello. my name is nina seo and i just turned twenty-one this past october,” she begins, giving a small bow before continuing. “i was born and raised in seattle, washington but moved to seoul at the age of seventeen.”

     as the prompt changes once again, cluing nina in on what was meant to be happening, she finds herself becoming more and more intrigued as the process goes on. really, this whole theme they were going for was cute.

     “two stars . . .” nina echoes as she rereads the words before her. whatever nina had been expecting to do within this room, this surely wasn’t it, but the brunette wasn’t complaining. she takes a moment to think through her options surveying the choices laid out before her. without much thought, nina picks up a yellow star to place into the positions jar ( because what else would she choose other than vocals ). she pauses once more, staring hard at the options left before her. now this? this was a little trickier. ultimately, however, nina finds herself reaching for a purple star, the folded paper landing neatly in her specialty jar.

     and with that, nina finds herself done. as she exits the room, the brunette can’t help the already brewing curiosity towards what this season would bring her.

when filming finally reasons resumes, in a scene similar to that of JANUARY 30, the DREAMERS TEAM stands on one side of the stage, the CHALLENGERS TEAM on the opposite side. SON NABI stands on a small podium set in a little further back, in the middle of the stage, with a large display screen behind her. after a short exchange, the MCs leave the stage to LEGACY ENTERTAINMENT's CEO, PARK JEONGAN. "in a few moment, the girls joining SON NABI in the new girl group will be announced. but first, i have the pleasure to reveal the concept and name of this new group." he begins. "from the feminine for of 'novus' meaning 'new', this group is to represent the current generation and trends, ever evolving, ever shining. they are: 'NOVA'!" right on cue, the logo and name of the group appear on the screen at the back of the stage. after a few seconds the positions previously revealed appear under the name of the group:

furthermore, NABI's profile picture appear under the text with her position written under: CENTER, DANCER.

at this moment, the show PRODUCER chimes in, explaining that every time JEONGAN announces the name of a girl, she must come to the front center of the stage where their MENTOR will give them their COMPLETED WISHING JAR, now closed and also containing SOLAR LIGHTS. following this, the MENTOR will get off the stage to return to their original seat in the crowd and the NEW MEMBER will be given time for a one minute speech. she will then have to stand at the back, next to nabi.

after this short interruption, PARK JEONGAN continues where he left of. "first, joining as LEADER and VOCAL... KWON SENA." as instructed by the producer, JEONGAN moves aside, leaving the center stage to SENA who receives her completed jar from her mentor, LEE JIHO. after her speech, she then joins NABI at the back on the podium, making her the second official member of NOVA. on the screen, her profile picture appears next to nabi's, the word LEADER disappearing from the available position and appearing under her picture with the word VOCAL.

"second, joining as DANCER and VISUAL... WATANABE MIYU." the same happens with MIYU. with the word VISUAL disappearing from the available positions, and the number going down from 2 to 1. the question mark next to dancer changes to 2 before the whole line disappears and the word appears under MIYU's profile, leaving only VOCAL as available position.

"third, joining as VOCAL... SEO MINSEO." the same happens with MINSEO, without any word disappearing from the available positions this time.

"fourth, joining as PERSONALITY and VOCAL... YU MILAN." once again, the producer instructions are following. this time the whole line disappears from the available positions, with PERSONALITY and VOCAL appearing under her profile picture.

with 5 members in the group already, it's clear that JEONGAN knows that people suspect that the line up is likely to be completed soon. "next, joining as VOCAL... KIM NAYOUNG." once again the mentor delivers the completed wishing jar and after her speech, NAYOUNG joins the other girls on the podium. when her profile and position appears, the question mark next to vocal changes to 4 before the line fully disappears, leaving only NOVA and MEMBERS pictures, as well as their positions on the screen.

"please give a warm applause to the SIX MEMBERS of NOVA." JEONGAN announces proudly. meanwhile AHN JAEHWA enters the scene to give NABI a STAR CROWN to hold in lieu of a wishing jar. once she's exited the stage, the MCs come back for the closing words. thanking the viewers and participants for this successful 6th season of future dreams.

POST-SHOW

after all the girls have changed back to their personal clothes, KIM HYUNCHEOL and NABI's manager, GEUM SHINHYE, join them in their waiting room. "this has been a long day for all of you, following weeks of hard work." hyuncheol beings "therefore, the company has decided to give the contestants of future dreams A WEEK OFF. during that time, the NOVA members are required to move to their new dorm. you will be living in the same building as CRYSTALLIS, on a different level. NABI you’ll be heading to LOS ANGELES from APRIL 4 to APRIL 8 to film the MV of your SOLO song."

ROOM B: KIM NAYOUNG, KWON SENA, WATANABE MIYU

"your appointed manager, SHINHYE" he politely gestures towards the young woman, "will be living in the floor above with CRYSTALLIS' managers. she’ll also be accompanying NABI in LOS ANGELES. finally, from here on, SHINHYE's word is law and order to you, and we aren't likely to meet much, so i want to give you my sincerely congratulations for becoming idols and wish you the best of luck." he gives the members of nova a warm smile.

next, he gathers the rest of the contestants: "there are some changes coming for you 5 too. however, details will be revealed after your week off. take the time to relax, see friends and family, eat good food and do things that make you happy. during the week, you'll also have to move in a regular trainee dorm TOGETHER. we'll meet on APRIL 10 and i'll share with you everything about TEAM UNKNOWN."

RANKING PROCESS

as always, with this season finished, we would like to use the remaining bit of this post to reveal some of the details behind the ranking process. first fd6 was divided in 3 PARTS, the sum of which decided who made it into the final group with the exception of NOH AREUM and YANG AERA. in general, in all parts of this season, we've put emphasis on the CONTENT of the requirements; not only checking if the requirements were completed but the QUALITY of said requirements.

PART 0: THE AUDITION. before anything, we had POINTS PRE-QUALIFIERS based on the DIRECTION of the group; having a MINIMUM of 25 points in ACTING, A MINIMUM 50 points in SINGING and unless ALL PERFORMANCE POINTS were OVER 100, RAP couldn't be ABOVE SINGING AND DANCING. any muse having passed that were then evaluated on POSITION(S) picked, ACTIVITY, IC CONDUCT, and finally the SOLO.

PART 1: had no actual elimination, but emphasis on the ACTING challenge. once again, the points, positions picked and quality of the solos had an impact here

PART 2/FINALE: the members were decided on a points cumulation of PART 0 (audition and conduct), PART 1 (interview and acting solo) and PART 2 (interview, representative song, position challenge and minimum requirements). for the REPRESENTATIVE SONG, rather than scoring the requirement itself, we wanted to figure out which characters would be comfortable or not with NOVA's concept. in the end, which each requirements were graded between 1 to 3, and the total decided who made it in the final group, with anybody (once again, except NOH AREUM and YANG AERA) with over 20 points out of 24 making it in.

DISCLAIMER: not ALL future dreams follow this scoring system, but for this season this is how it went! next season could be a totally different one so do not expect it to be the same since at the end of the day, this is a roleplay and we wanted you to have some fun. if you have any questions regarding the rankings, feel free to ask the main about it and we’ll do our best to answer it!
