idk how to explain to people that the reason i haven't been online much is because the school i go to has barely any signal and the home i live in currently also doesn't really have any good signal and there is/was a typhoon passing through the country so it made the signal problem worse, so the only time i could get signal was when i went out on the weekends, but there's been a shit ton of smog in my area recently, either from the abnormally active volcano nearby or from the horrible pollution, both of which render the air quality unhealthy, meaning i get sick more easily because i'm either inhaling sulfur dioxide from the ashfall OR i'm inhaling sulfur dioxide from the pollution, meaning i'm stuck inside my house with horrible signal for most of the day

and the typhoon that is/was passing through the country means that it's also been raining quite a bit recently, and rain + sulfur dioxide = acid rain, meaning i REALLY can't go outside, meaning no signal for me. ever.

also, even when i Can go outside, it's usually just to run errands. obviously it's not advised to go outside if it's not necessary, so i only ever go out when i need to do my groceries or something like that, which means the only time i can get signal is also the one and only time in the entire week when all i do for 2 hours is cross a bunch of streets, run down supermarket aisles, try not to let my wallet get stolen, and then walk back home. none of which are activities that i can do while also diverting part of my attention to scrolling or messaging on my phone

so yk like if i could explain all that in like 1 or 2 sentences that would be great. it's just that if i say "the whole goddamn country (including me) is in a crisis rn srry" and it hasn't reached world news yet, it almost sounds like a non-issue (or just a straight-up lie) if i use it as an excuse

update on my project sekai unit swap au:

currently redesigning my hxs designs. i'm only making minor changes but deciding on final designs is a bit difficult since i'm indecisive, so i might end up posting drafts here for you guys to vote on.

also in the process of writing more fleshed out character profiles for them so rewriting the main story will be easier and their behavior is more consistent.

on the side, i'm also designing attires for n25 as l/n, aka A Ringing Bell at 00.00 . as of right now, only mizuki and kanade really have solid drafts? i'm having the hardest time with mafuyu.

i still haven't figured out unit names for mmj as vbs and vbs as mmj, but i do now have a sekai description for l/n as wxs (aka clu/Star).

i also still have no designs for the vocaloids other than hxs miku. i realized that some vocaloids' designs will have to change drastically to fit the unit swap, so i've made drafts of hxs miku's redesign to fit that same drastic change.

i originally planned to get all of this done before summer ends, but between art fight and other things i wanted to do this summer, this probably won't even get finished by the end of the year.

maybe i should've anticipated that essentially designing 50 characters and also write a whole ass fucking 21-chapter story wasn't gonna fit in 2 months lol

hopefully i'll remember to update on this consistently but. don't bet on it

i'm probably gonna redraw the sprites. redrawing them wasn't necessary in the original edits because i didn't make enough changes to the existing sprites to warrant it, but now that i'm changing a lot more, i'd be getting rid of so much of the original sprites that working with the low pixel count would be more of a hassle than anything. i'll test it out and see if it's worth it first, and i'm probably still gonna make character sheets either way, but for now, redrawing them seems like the best course of action, even if it's more time-consuming

thinking of tracing over the prsk sprites for my edits instead of just drawing over them. the low resolution is killing me. it'll take longer but i really wanna upscale them

i want to take this time to announce that starting today, i will be going on an indefinite hiatus. i might still be able to post somtimes (god bless scheduled posts and queues) but definitely not on any of my other socials for a while. i'm gonna be at school, and at school there is no wifi or good signal, only burnout and expectations :DDD. and all the stuff i'll be posting won't be digital art either. i can't bring my drawing tablet with me to school so i won't be able to draw digitally much. most of what i'll be posting is trad art and text posts.

i also wanna take this time to say THANK YOU FOR ALMOST 2K NOTES ON EMO WXS HOLY SHIT???? there's one side of me that's like "it's only 2k. there's been bigger." but then another side of me is like "HOLY SHIT TWO THOUSAND PEOPLE??? TWO THOUSAND PEOPLE LIKE THIS????" so i'm kinda confused on what to feel in that regard lmao. but i do know one thing i should feel!! grateful, because you guys are awesome and none of this would've happened if it wasn't for your support!!!

which is why i really hate that i have to go on hiatus

so i thought i should at least leave you all with 16k words of brainrot and self-indulgence before i go! i'll be back with milk soon, i promise :)
