incoming message from: nick 🥸
chrissy pooh!! guess what? y/n is coming over for movie night 🥰🥰🥰 get ready!
chris’ — pov
my heart had skipped a beat once nick told me that y/n would be coming over for a movie night. i have been liking her ever since sophomore year, even though i had the courage to ask her out (surprisingly), she got a boyfriend before the day i was gonna ask her.
it was hard for me to talk to her after she got a boyfriend, i always felt weird to start a conversation with her knowing i had a crush on her while she had her feelings for someone else. but recently, he cheated on y/n. i was probably the first person to find out. since in her words im her ‘second favorite triplet’ other than nick, who is her first favorite triplet. she ended up coming up to my place and i comforted her. y/n said that she was extremely grateful that i was there for her and such. and honestly? it just made me feel more in love with her.
unfortunately, nick and matt know about my crush on her. every-time she leaves our house after her and nick hang out or we all just hang out, they both tease me about it. they always either pick me on something i did that was a bit awkward and whenever i got close to her.
i was currently sitting down on the couch, my leg bouncing up and down as i waited anxiously for y/n. “you need to calm down.” matt told me when he noticed my anxious body language. “im fine?” i chuckle dryly. he looked at me like i was crazy while rolling his eyes. “matt seriously?” i say with my words laced with annoyance. he laughed a little bit before he said something. “your obviously nervous for y/n to get here just so she can lay next to you the entire movie.” matt giggled as he placed his phone down on his chest.
“what?? ‘m not.” i deny. a small knock was heard from downstairs, and my heart skips several beats. “we’ll see about that.” matt smirked at me as he sat up to go answer the door, running behind nick since he was too excited to see y/n.
end of chris’ pov
you were greeted by two pairs of blue eyes. “hey y/n/n!!” nick smiled as he dragged you into a hug. “hey nickkk” you giggle as you hug him back. it took him a while to let go of you but once he did, you went to hug matt as well. they both move a little bit so you could walk into their home.
you smiled at the brunette boy that had been sitting down on the couch. “hey chris!!” you giggle as you run over to give him a hug. he smiled softly as he embraced you tightly. “hiiii” he dragged out before letting you go. “y/n! you can go put your bag in my room.” nick called out from the kitchen as him and matt prepared some snacks. you nod before scurrying up the stairs to put your bag down.
“what movie are we watching??” you ask while skipping down the stairs. “probably a horror movie, i really wanna— fuck this is heavy! watch tarot. is it on netflix chris??” nick asked his brother while struggling to carry two bowls of popcorn to the sofa. chris shrugged before searching it up, surprised that the movie was on netflix already. “yeah, it is.” he said, scooting a little bit to make room for you to sit down.
you comfortably sit down next to chris, enjoying the warmth of his body against yours. “nick pass me the popcorn” you say while reaching over chris to try to grab the bowl. the blonde boy handed you the white bowl filled with buttered popcorn. you put it in on top of your lap and you laid your head on chris’ shoulder.
“wait wheres matt?” you ask while shoving a handful of popcorn into your mouth. “hes grabbing candy from the car, chris start playing the movie!!” nick says eagerly, as if he needed to watch the movie as soon as possible.
“wait for me! jeez.” matt giggled as he emerged from downstairs. he threw the packs of candy in a pile on the foot rest. chris pressed play and the movie started. the living room was filled with the sounds of munching on snacks and the movie background music.
you occasionally heard small giggles coming from the two other boys on the sofa. you lifted your head in confusion and saw them looking at you and chris. after a while, the giggling wouldn’t stop. “guys! shut up.” you mumble, your eyes flickering from matt and nick to chris.
“sorry! sorry.. sorry.” matt giggled. you ignored them and just fixated your eyes back on the tv. soon enough, your eyes grew heavy, even though the tv volume was at 32 and it was a horror movie.
eventually, you fell asleep with your head slipping down to chris’ chest.
chris’ — pov
nick and matt kept giggling like little kids when they saw y/n laying her head on my shoulder. i shot them an annoyed look after they both said sorry when y/n told them to shut up.
i tried my best to pay attention to the movie and not to y/n. the movie was actually surprisingly good. i jumped a few times to the jumpscares that were scattered in it. a few more minutes went by and i felt y/n’s head slowly slip down to my chest. my breath hitches a little bit loudly and matt breaks his neck to look at us.
“awww.” matt teases. “jesus shut up matt!” i say quietly, blood spreading everywhere on my cheeks. “shh, is she sleeping?” nick asked with a cheeky smile. i nod slowly, my cheeks burning up. “here gimmie— go take her down to your room or something.” he said while grabbing the controller to turn the volume down.
i sigh a little bit frustratedly before struggling to pick up y/n since of the position we were in. “you guys can continue the movie without me.” i grumble as i bridal hold y/n close. “okaayyyyy!! have fun chrissy.” matt says in a high pitch tone quietly and with a pout.
i carefully walk down to my room, trying my best to not have y/n bump her head on the wall or anything. i quietly open my door and shut it silently. i flick the light switch on with my elbow slowly before walking towards my bed. i gently rest her down on my bed, covering her body with my white comforter. “jesus what do i do.” i whisper underneath my breath.
since i was already getting a little bit sleepy, i gave in to lay down next to her. i flicked off the lights and slowly laid down on my back next to y/n. i stared at the ceiling, my breathing unstable from nervousness. as soon as i was about to fall asleep, i hear the comforter rustling and feel her hide her face in the crook of my neck.
i freeze in place, hesitant to move. but i finally did after a minute or so. i turned onto my side and wrapped my arms around her. it was a little bit obvious that she was awake when she quickly wrapped her arms around me as well. “you awake?” i whisper softly. she lets out a small ‘mhm’ that made me smile a little bit.
“i hear your heart beat.” y/n croaked with a little smirk. my cheeks start to heat up once again. “no you don’t.” i giggle. she untucks her head from my neck to look up at me. “don’t make me feel like im going crazy!” she smiled. i laugh a little bit at her, a small hint of pink growing on my face when i saw her smile. “your hands are also cold.” the girl told me, reaching to her back to grab my hand. “they are always cold.” i state, intertwining my fingers with hers.
i blink at her a few times in the comfortable silence. y/n licked her lips before kissing my own. "g'night c." she whispered softly. my mouth was left opened a little bit out of shock. "y-yeah, g'night y/n/n." i say. "wait no, we aren't gonna unpack that?" i ask before i closed my own eyes to go to sleep.
"hm?" she hums at me. "you kissed me." i state. "yeah?" the girl mumbled again. "was it like a.. a friend kiss or." i mumble back, my hand leaving her's and to her waist instead. "god chris your so slow." y/n giggled at me. "i like you, idiot." she said again, looking up at me.
"what? really?" i say. "do i need to kiss you again to make you believe it or what?" she asked me, her hand coming up to play with my hair. "mm it would be nice." i mumble, making her lean up slightly to kiss me.

Hi buggy!! I had an idea and I feel like you are the perfect person to give it to (as you know I have way too many WIPS)
Okay so -Drama Club!Reader taking a nap on the couch in the room they use for Hellfire- She’s got headphones on so she doesn’t hear them come in- Halfway through the game Eddie realizes ? There’s someone in the room? And then he drives her home? Run with it honestly! Also ILY!!
You know I love any excuse to write fluff 🥰 for you, my dear.
Warnings: none really, just tooth-rotting fluff and the Hellfire boys teasing Eddie
WC: 1.5k
Sleepiness hits you like a truck. No matter how many plays you do, no matter if you have a leading role or you’re part of the chorus, post-show exhaustion is real. There’s no break between the infamous “Hell Week” and opening night, and you are feeling it.
Your knees buckle like your legs are going to give out. Despite the upbeat tempo of Joan Jett’s I Love Rock ‘n Roll blasting through your headphones, which typically puts some pep in your step, you’re about to fall over.
As you pass by the drama room, it dawns on you: there’s a couch that’s perfect (or at least feasible) for a quick little nap.
Luckily for you, it’s completely empty, and sleep quickly overtakes you. No lines to memorize, no scrambling to stage left when Mr. Underwood calls for the Mad Hatter. Just pure, uninterrupted–
“Oh, come on!”
Well.
You’re jolted awake by the sound of a group of guys shouting at each other. As your vision focuses, you can see that they’re all wearing matching shirts, proudly proclaiming themselves to be the Hellfire Club. You don’t know how long you’ve been asleep, but your cassette is no longer playing music, so it has to have been a little while.
The voice that had woken you from your nap belongs to Nancy Wheeler’s younger brother, Mike, who is currently raking his hands through his shaggy hair in frustration.
“Okay, okay, just focus.” Will Byers, ever the voice of reason. He was one of the set designers for Alice in Wonderland, and his kind disposition effectively made him the adopted little brother of most of the upperclassmen. He picks up a die, takes a deep breath, and rolls, letting out a disappointed groan as it clatters to the table. “Shit!”
“That’s…a…miss!” Your attention is immediately drawn to the man sitting in a throne-esque chair at the head of the table, cackling at Will’s misfortune. You nearly fall off of the couch when you see that it’s Eddie Munson, the guy you’ve had a crush on since you’d started high school four years ago.
“Careful, Eddie,” one of the younger members–Gareth, if you’re remembering correctly–goads the Dungeon Master,  “you’d better be nice to him, or he won’t introduce you to your lady love.”
The rest of them oooh and make kissy noises, laughing amongst themselves.
Eddie slams a fist on the table, silencing them immediately. “Shut up!” he roars, scrunching up his nose in anger. His sudden outburst startles you; luckily, everyone is too engrossed in the game–and teasing Eddie–to notice the way you twitch on the couch.
The game continues for a few more minutes, punctuated by cheers and irritated grunts, before Will speaks up. “She’s really nice, Eddie,” he starts, “I could see if she’d wanna talk to you—”
“Enough!” Eddie hisses through gritted teeth. “I swear, I’ll end this campaign right now.”
“Hold on,” another freshman, this one with curly hair, chimes in. He raises his forefinger as he contemplates the situation. “You’re telling me that you went to see Alice in Wonderland–twice, I may add–stared at her the whole time, and you don’t even wanna know if she’s interested?”
That gets your attention—what drama club actress does he have his eye on? Probably Chrissy Cunningham, the blonde beauty who’d snagged the leading role. Cheerleading, acting, all-around nice person; who wouldn’t have a crush on her?
Eddie shakes his head, frizzy curls brushing the shoulders of his denim jacket. “You idiots are driving me crazy.”
Jeff, who happens to be in your English class, throws him a knowing smirk. “Don’t you mean, driving you mad?”
His pun earns him a round of high-fives from his friends, but Eddie is less than enthused.
“That’s it; we’re done here.” Eddie smacks his palms to the table, rolling his eyes when the guys groan. “I’ll clean up, just—get out of here. Go!” He yells the last word when no one moves, and they all scramble for their backpacks and out the door.
Once they leave, he starts tossing game pieces back in the box haphazardly, mumbling to himself.
“Fuckin’ kids, think they know everything just because they have girlfriends—Jesus Christ!”
Your eyes flit over to see him staring at you, hand pressed to his chest as he catches his breath.
“Wh-What the fuck are you doing here?” he stammers, trying to catch his breath. “When did you even get here?”
“I, um, needed a nap,” you admit, “and I knew there was a couch here, but I dozed off for too long…I didn’t mean to crash your game,” you finish lamely.
“Oh,” Eddie grins, relieved that you’ve been asleep and blissfully ignorant of the ribbing he’d received during Hellfire, “yeah, I mean, no worries. ‘S, uh, comfy.”
You wrinkle your nose. “Not really. I was just tired.”
“Yeah, makes sense,” Eddie sputters with a forced laugh, shoving his hands in his pockets. “Just finished the play and everything. ‘S a lot of work.”
“Yup.” There’s an awkward pause before you speak again. “Well, I should probably head home before my mom reports me missing or something.”
“I can drive you!” Eddie blurts out, cringing inwardly at the abundance of enthusiasm in his tone. “I mean, ‘s cool with me if you wanna…bum a ride.”
You tilt your head with a small smile. “Are you sure? I don’t want you to go out of your way…” You know that he lives in Forest Hills Trailer Park across town, and you don’t want him wasting time and fuel when you could easily walk.
“No, yeah, I don’t mind.” He rocks back and forth on his heels nervously. “I, uh, actually wanted to ask you about the play.”
You nod, grabbing your backpack from the side of the couch. Before you can sling it over your shoulder, his hand shoots out to catch the strap at the top.
“I can carry it.”
“Eddie Munson…chivalrous gentleman?” you tease, unaware of the shiver coursing through him when you say his full name. “Full of surprises today.”
You follow him to his van, smiling politely when he opens your door for you with a small bow. He jogs around to his side and climbs into the driver’s seat.
“Where to?”
You give him your address and offer a general direction. “So, what did you wanna ask me?”
“Hm?”
You raise your eyebrows. “You said you wanted to drive me home so you could ask me about the play.”
“Oh, yeah! Right.” Eddie fumbles for his words. “Is it hard remembering all your lines?”
You shrug. “Not too bad. Kinda like studying for a test, y’know?”
“Uh, sure.” He puts his hand on the back of your seat and turns his head, tongue poking out from between his lips as he concentrates on backing out.
Another pregnant pause fills the air, and you rub your palms along your jean-clad thighs. “What else did you wanna know?”
He wracks his brain for more questions, but comes up short. “That was pretty much it, I guess.”
“Eddie!” you scoff playfully. “I wouldn’t have had you drive me if you only had one question!” Without thinking, your hand swats at his chest.
“Ow! Damn!” he laughs, using one hand to tend to his ‘wound’ while keeping the other on the wheel. “I’m gonna have to tell Byers that you’re actually really mean.”
“Me?”
“Mhm,” he confirms. “Violent, too. ‘S probably gonna leave a mark.”
“Poor baby.” You jut out your lower lip in an exaggerated pout. “Need someone to nurse you back to health?” You take a beat before proposing, “Maybe…Chrissy Cunningham?”
Eddie coughs out a laugh. “Chrissy Cunningham? Yeah, no.”
“Really?” You furrow your brow in confusion. “Then who were the guys talking about?” The question comes out before you can stop it, and you feel your face heat up with embarrassment. “Sorry, I–”
“‘S fine,” he mutters, drumming his fingers on the wheel. His ears tinge pink and he gnaws on his cheek, but doesn’t say another word.
Something dawns on you; a comment he’d made earlier in the drive. “I’m gonna have to tell Byers that you’re actually really mean.” And back at Hellfire, Will had said that Eddie’s drama club crush was “really nice.” And then there was Jeff’s comment about them driving him mad…
Oh.
“Do you wanna get some pizza or something?” you ask, the words spilling from your lips. You peer at him hopefully, trying not to sound overzealous. “Y’know, just so I can make sure your injury isn’t fatal.”
He nods. “Yeah, sounds awesome. I like pizza.” His gaze flits over to your hand; he reaches over and timidly gives it a small squeeze. “Like you, too.”
Your body fills with warmth, and you settle back into your seat and smile. Yeah, that nap was definitely a great idea.

Oh I have a variation of the other fluff request:
So eddie and alt girlie are kind of loud, weird (read: neurodivergent) outgoing confident people who get all blushy, sweet and shy around each other because each is so cute the other gets nervous
They date, become a couple and be adorable menaces ever after 🥰
I ADORE THEM GETTING NERVOUS AROUND EACH OTHER
Tumblr media
Eddie Munson, that was a name many people had opinions on. He was confident, opinionated, and loud. If he didn't like you, he'd tell you. If he admired you, he'd tell you. He had no problem standing up for himself and definitely didn't have a problem telling people where they could shove it. He doesn't get nervous when the jocks stared him down. He doesn't get nervous when the cops threaten him. And he doesn't get nervous when people get in his face. A gorgeous girl has his attention? He'll throw on that charming smile and doe eyes did their magic. He had no problem getting what or who he wanted
But God did he get tongue tied when Y/N was around
Y/F/N, that was also a name many people knew. She was even more confident than Eddie. She was gorgeous and she knew it. She was outgoing and had tons of friends. She was easily adored by many. But her confidence also attracted enemies. People who couldn't stand how high on her horse she was. But she refused to let anyone knock her off. If someone didn't like her, she'd settle it. Talk behind her back? They should've said it to her face. If she likes someone? She has no problem flirting her way into their hearts. She doesn't get nervous, period.
Well except when Eddie Munson was around
~~
The two met because of Chrissy
Chrissy adored Y/N, she wasn't on the cheer team. She was edgy and alternative but that's what Chrissy liked. She liked that she was different.
Then Chrissy met Eddie, and it was like seeing Y/N in a male form. They were so alike it amazed her. That's when she knew, she needed to play matchmaker.
"Chrissy no offense but your taste is Jason. I do not trust you to set me up with anyone" Y/N laughed, dusting off her leather jacket as she stood up
"oh shut up! Please you would adore him" Chrissy pleaded. These two needed to meet
"why's that?" She asked curious
"long hair. Tattoos. In a band. I have to admit he's fucking hot. He's confident, loud, alternative, and lives for metal music. How can he not be your type?" Chrissy smirked
"fuck long hair and tattoos? " Y/n whined, she can't ignore that
"it's curly hair too. Oh plus he wears rings"
"DAMMIT CHRISSY"
~~
"I adore you Chris, I really do, but your friends are way too girly for me. I don't do the pink skirts and pitchy voices" Eddie gagged
"shut up! She's not like that, she's different" Chrissy argued. Once again, these two are way too similar
"how so?" He challenged
"she's hot Eddie. She has tattoos, piercings, loves guys who play guitar, and listens to metal music. Always dressed in leather. She's confident, she's loud, independent. How is that for different?" She argued, cocky smile on her lips
"piercings where?" Now he was curious
"nose, tongue and tits" Chrissy smirked, she knew she'd have him there
"DAMMIT CHRISSY"
~~
"Eddie, Y/N, Y/N, Eddie" Chrissy smiled as she introduced the two
Both staring silently at each other
Chrissy looked between them confused, when were these two ever quiet?
"um Hi...Eddie" Y/N said quietly, slowly moving her hand out for him to shake
Chrissy eyed her weirdly, was she nervous?
"yeah I'm Eddie. Yeah...Y/N" Eddie stuttered out, his warm hand shaking hers
"are you guys blushing?"
"SHUT UP CHRISSY"
~~
Ever since they met, Chrissy has seen her two most confident friends, break down into blushing messes over each other.
The stuttering, the shyness, the blushing. Just overall complete opposite of how she knew her two friends
~~
"Okay so party is at 8, yes you can bring drugs, no you cannot bring underage children" Chrissy explained as she handed Eddie her party invitation
"a party? Chris I hate parties" Eddie whined, still grabbing the piece of paper from her hands
"Y/N's going" Chrissy said with a smirk
Watching as Eddie blushed and coughed
"that ...that doesn't mean anything. Why would I care? She's just a girl. At the party"
Chrissy found herself laughing at Eddie's horrible attempt to sound unbothered
"whatever you say Eddie. She already told me she hopes you are there" with that she sent a wink, skipping her way to class
Eddie knew he had to go to the party now. He couldn't lie, Chrissy was right. Y/N was his type but so different. He couldn't charm her socks off because he couldn't form complete sentences. Her eyes staring at him while he stuttered out random words killed him on the inside. He felt like an idiot.
~~
"Eddie's going? As in the guy who hates parties?" Y/N questioned suspiciously
"well he didn't want to at first but I strongly believe he'll show up" Chrissy stated confidently
"you didn't tell him I asked you to invite him did you?" Y/N glared at her best friend. She had to admit, Chrissy was right. Eddie was fucking hot and definitely her type. She wanted to see him more but was also way too terrified to ask him herself. She's never been so nervous around a guy before. She felt like an idiot
~~
Eddie walked into the loud party, hands in his pockets as his eyes searched for two certain girls. Breathing a sigh of relief when he spotted Chrissy.
"YOU CAME!" she screamed excitedly, throwing her arms around him
He nodded with a small pat on her back, lips in a tight line
Chrissy watched as his eyes searched around the party, looking back to her every few glances
"she's busy hosting!" Chrissy explained, holding up her drink
"um who?!" He asked, slightly loud to go over the music
"your girl" Chrissy winked, watching as Eddie began to open his mouth
"she is not my girl!" He defended fast
"but you knew exactly who I was talking about" she smirked as he stood defeated
"CHRISSY THERE ISN'T ONE SINGLE HOT GUY HERE!" Chrissy looked over Eddie's shoulder to see Y/N walking up, annoyed look on her face
Eddie looked behind him upon hearing her voice
Blushing instantly as he saw the very small and tight black dress she was wearing. Black ankle boots, her neck decorated with a choker and her hands filled with big rings. Eddie felt himself melting into the floor beneath her
"oh Eddie..hi!" She said with an awkward smile
Like she said, always an idiot
"I didn't know you were here! You know when I said...the hot guy part. Not saying you are hot! But also not saying you aren't hot! Because you are, Fuck I need a drink" she rambled, turning right back around and racing to the kitchen. When has she ever been this bad around a guy?
"she must really like you. I've seen her run circles around countless men before. Never once seen that" Chrissy giggled behind her drink
~~
Eddie wasn't any better
Chrissy left them alone for a conversation, with a not subtle wink and thumbs up
Eddie has never once struggled to find words to get into a girl's pants but this girl had his brain in mush. All he could look at was her dress, her skin, her hair, he's been staring so long he thinks he could remember details she wouldn't even know.
"so rings! You obviously like them" he cringed at himself
"yes! I see that you do too! We seem to have similar tastes" she nodded, smiling as she held her hand near his to compare
Now is the time to touch her hand, a flirty touch or even hold the damn thing, his brain kept screaming at him. Did he do it? Nope
Why was she throwing her hand out between them in the middle of a dance floor? She really is an idiot
~~
It took a very long two months before Eddie and Y/N made it past small talk.
Getting high together led them to be more of themselves, their confident selves. Eddie finally kissed her and she didn't hold back.
Chrissy accidentally walked in on the full blown make out in her backyard. Covering her eyes as she ran back inside
But she succeeded. Days later, the two were official
~~
Eddie's friends loved nothing more than teasing the shit out of a pussy whipped Eddie Munson.
"is he blushing? Can I actually see that from here?" Dustin questioned, eyes watching as Y/N and Eddie stood in the hallway against her locker
"is he playing with his own hair?" Gareth laughed. Eddie's hand fiddling with his long curls as her mouth moved
"look at his feet! He even got his ankles crossed" Mike observed
Eddie was nothing like the loud mouth, powerful stance, and fist clenching teenager they are used to seeing.
~~
Her friends weren't any better
"is...is she giggling?" Robin asked in disbelief
Watching as Eddie stood with his arm against her locker, smiling down at her
"she definitely is! I don't think I've ever heard her giggle" Chrissy smirked
"she's not even doing her usual moves. Where's the cocky smirk? The fuck me eyes? All I see is puppy love eyes" Robin ranted
"I don't know Rob. That Munson has something on her. She stutters when she talks to him. It took two months to get those two past their first names" Chrissy mocked. She loved her two friends, but they were idiots
But idiots for each other

The other woman
Tumblr media
part one
pairing: eddie munson x fem!reader
word count: 2k
warnings: 18+ minors dni, strong language, angst galore, cheating, jealousy, chrissy being a cunt, bullying. i think that’s it, if there’s anything else lmk
summary: it had been two days since your encounter with eddie in the woods and eddie had asked you to meet him in again to explain himself. everything seemed to finally fall into place until someone had overheard you both in the woods and they were not happy about it.
note: pt.2 as requested🥰 and before you ask, yes there will be a pt.3! im sorry in advance for this. ik y’all want that happy ending but i just cant make it that easy. all ill say is don’t stop reading👀
Tumblr media
It had been two days since your encounter with Eddie. You had isolated yourself in your bedroom. You barely ate, you barely slept, you barely even moved. You hadn’t been to school and your friends were starting to worry about you, Robin in particular.
You woke up to Robin bursting through your bedroom door. “Y/N! Where have you been?? I’ve been forced to hang out with Steve and he’s great but you know how annoying he is with girls and all-“ she stopped mid-sentence after seeing the state you were in. You couldn’t say you blamed her.
You hadn’t showered, your hair was a mess, and you still had left over mascara under your eyes from crying. “What happened? You look horrible-“ Robin clasped her hand over her mouth. “I didn’t mean it like that. Just- you know, you definitely don’t look your best.” You sighed. “It’s a long story.” Robin sat on the end of your bed. “I have time.”
You told Robin all about you and Eddie. When you finally finished, you didn’t think you'd ever seen Robin speechless before. Her eyes were wide and her jaw slack. After what felt like an eternity, Robin finally spoke. “Okay, a lot to digest here. First off, what an asshole! I mean seriously. Do you want me to talk to Steve? Maybe he could bring out the bat.” For the first time since you had left the woods with Eddie, you smiled. “Robin, I think you’re forgetting Steve has never once won a fight.” “Yeah you’re right. I’d probably do more damage than him. And that’s saying something!” You laughed at that. “I appreciate the gesture, but I really don’t think seeing Eddie get beaten up will make me feel any better.”
Robin had talked you into finally taking a shower. Mostly by commenting on how much you smelled, but it worked nonetheless. She also made you eat something that wasn’t just a bite of toast. You were beyond grateful to have her as your best friend.
After you finished eating, Robin asked “So what are you going to do? You can’t just stay cooped up in your room forever. Don’t let him have that power over you.” Maybe it was because of how Robin had said it or maybe it was because you had finally gotten a clear head, whatever it was, you had agreed with her and decided you would go back to school tomorrow. Regardless if Eddie was there or not.
As you pulled into the school parking lot, you were immediately filled with regret. There he was, perched up against the side of his van with Chrissy right next to him. You swore your stomach dropped all the way to your toes. Thankfully, Robin had offered to ride to school with you. She instantly noticed the scene unfolding in front of you.
“Hey, don’t let it bother you. You’re the bigger person, remember?” She rubbed your shoulder comfortingly. You took a deep breath. “I’m the bigger person. Got it.” “You’re damn right you are!” You giggled, your nerves finally subsiding. “Okay, let’s go.”
As you made your way towards the entrance of the school, you could feel Eddie’s eyes burning a whole into your back. You tried your absolute best to shake it off. You stared ahead, not daring to spare him a glance.
Your day went by surprisingly fast. You had managed to not run into Eddie or Chrissy in the hallways. You actually thought you might get through the day without any drama. Until you reached your locker.
As soon as you opened your locker, a folded up piece of paper fluttered out onto the floor. You looked around to see if anyone was in the hallway, no one was. Slowly you bent down to pick up the piece of paper. As you unfolded it, you immediately recognized the handwriting. Your heart dropped.
Meet me at our spot during lunch. I’ll explain everything.

You re-read the note about 10 times before you could even begin to process what it said. Your first instinct was to rip up the note into a million pieces, but then your feelings took over. You debated telling Robin and asking her what she thought you should do, but before you knew it the lunch bell rang and you were already making your way through the football field and into the woods.
It was like you were on autopilot. You reached the picnic table in the woods before you even knew what was happening. As soon as you saw him, you had to fight the urge to turn around and leave.
He was faced away from you. His chocolate brown curls flowing slightly due to the wind. He was wearing his usual leather jacket with a flannel underneath, paired with black jeans. You stood there for a few minutes, just observing him. It wasn’t until he heard the sound of a twig snap, that he finally turned around.
When his eyes met yours, he looked relieved. As if he was expecting you not to show up. “Hi.” Eddie sounded nervous, you didn’t think you’d ever heard him sound so unsure of himself. “I don’t have a lot of time so say what you need to say.” It came out more harsh than you had intended, but it’s not like he didn’t deserve it.
“Okay.” He paused. “Look, I didn’t mean for what I said the other day to come out how it did. I was never using you. It’s just- there’s a reason why I didn’t want to break up with Chrissy.” There was something behind his eyes you couldn’t quite make out. “And that reason being?” You questioned.
“I was scared.” He raked his fingers through his hair. “I’ve always been the freak. Hell- I’ve been bullied almost all my life. And when I started dating Chrissy, everyone finally stopped messing with me. Not that I really even cared what other people thought about me, it’s just nice to finally get some peace and quiet. I was scared that if I broke up with her, it’ll become even worse than it was before. And it’s not that I don’t like Chrissy, she’s great. But she’s not you.”
It was silent for a while after that. You took time to truly take in everything Eddie had said. On one hand, you really did understand his reasoning. You had watched him get called names and get into fights. You had always felt horrible about it, he never deserved any of it.
On the other hand, you still didn’t know if you could forgive Eddie for what he had said to you. You didn’t know how you were ever going to be able to trust him again. “So, where does this leave us?” You had finally asked.
“I know it was only two days, but not being around you or seeing you made me realize that I don’t care about the name-calling, the fights, or what anyone has to say about me. I want to be with you. And I know I was an asshole. I truly am sorry about how I acted. I know I need to get my shit together and I will. If you still want this, I’ll do whatever you need me to do. I- I love you.”
You couldn’t help the way your heart fluttered when those three words left Eddie’s mouth. He sounded so genuine. You knew it would take time for things to get back to where they were. You needed to be able to trust him again for this to ever work.
After what felt like an eternity, you finally spoke. “I love you too, Eddie. I always have and that’s why I need to be able to trust you for this to work. I don’t want to get hurt again, I can’t get hurt again. We can’t just go back to how things were between us. It’s going to take time and effort.” You looked up at him, waiting for his response.
“I know that it’ll take time and I’m willing to put in the effort. I’m so sorry I hurt you and I promise I never will again. I’ll break things off with Chrissy tonight and I’ll take you out on a real date this Saturday.” He paused. “I really did mean everything I told you. It’s you and only you. I love you y/n.”
Eddie's brown, doe eyes stared into your own, searching desperately for an answer. You knew you were never going to hear the end about this from Robin or any of your friends for that matter, but you decided to give him one last chance. If he broke this promise, that was it.
“Okay.” That was all you could manage to say. “Okay?” Eddie asked with a relieved smile. You nodded. Before either of you could say anything else, the bell rang. “I gotta get back, but meet me here tomorrow and we can talk more.” Eddie said as he made his way to the trail. You watched as his figure disappeared into the trees. You couldn’t help but smile to yourself as you slowly walked back to school. Maybe everything would finally work out as you hoped.
Neither of you knew that Chrissy had seen Eddie slip the note into your locker. She followed him into the woods. She had heard everything from her place behind a tree. Chrissy was livid and she wanted revenge.
The rest of your day went smoothly. You couldn’t contain the excitement you felt. You were finally getting what you wanted. Everything seemed to be falling into place. Then it happened.
The final bell rang and you had made your way to your locker. Only to see a group of students gathered around it. They were giggling and snickering. You shoved your way through the crowd. The sight in front of you made you want to throw up.
“Home wrecking slut” was written across your locker in bright red marker. Everyone was pointing and laughing at you. You couldn’t believe this was happening. You turned to try and run into the bathroom before the tears fell from your eyes, but Chrissy stopped you.
“You fucking slut. You really thought you could sleep around with my boyfriend behind my back and I wouldn’t find out? Are you that desperate for attention?” You could feel the tears running down your cheeks. “Are you really fucking crying right now? God you’re pathetic.” You shoved passed Chrissy before she could say anything else. You could hear the laughter of everyone behind you.
You ran to the parking lot, trying desperately to get to your car before you could run into anyone else. The universe, apparently, was not on your side today. Your eyes were so blurry from crying that you didn’t see the person in front of you before you ran into them.
“Woah! Hey y/n, what’s wrong?” You didn’t even have to look up to know that it was Eddie. Of fucking course. “Are you serious?” You screamed at him. “What? What the hell happened?” Eddie tried to grab your hands but you pulled them away from his grasp. “Don’t play dumb Eddie. I know you told Chrissy about us. Did you tell her to write that shit on my locker too? After everything you told me in the woods today? It was all a trick right? To pay me back for not wanting to hook up with you anymore. And to think I actually fucking believed you. God I’m so fucking stupid.”
“What the hell are you talking about? I didn’t tell Chrissy anything!” You scoffed at him. “Yeah right. I’m done. Fuck you Eddie” you shoved passed him. You could hear him calling after you, but you ignored him. The second you got in your car you drove off. You didn’t know where you were going or what you were doing. All you knew is that you were done with Eddie Munson, for good.
What you didn’t know was that Eddie genuinely had no idea what you were talking about. But he was going to find out.
No matter what.

If this were our last night | Steve Harrington x Fem! Reader.

A/N: Thank you so much, your words mean a lot to me 🥺 I'm glad you like what I do as much as I like to do it 💕. I hope you like it 🥰.
It's 1986 at Hawkins, the first year they thought everything to do with upside down was over. At least it was until the Chrissy Cunningham incident. The investigation at the hands of the teens soon began, bringing to light Hawkins' darkest secrets and, in the process, Y/N's troubled past.
Words: 638.
Tumblr media
How long had it been since they had first gotten into all this upside down and shit? You were aware it was somewhere between three or four years, but you could have sworn it had been decades.
In '83 Will had happened, in '84 the demodogs came to Hawkins and Will had gone into some kind of weird trance that you didn't want to see in person, in '85 a giant spider formed out of human flesh and Billy died, but that was supposed to be the end, wasn't it?
Well, apparently it wasn't.
Now it was 1986, and fucking Dustin Henderson walked into your boyfriend's work screaming that it was very likely that shit had come back. Now it was 1986, and all indications were that you were directly related to all that shit.
How fucked up life could be when it put its mind to it.
"Honey?" Steve grabbed your shoulder gently, his brow furrowing slightly "is everything okay?"
You nodded, your gaze fixed on the school counselor's folders, more specifically on the patients' symptoms, on Chrissy's symptoms.
"Yes" you nodded again, fear beginning to cause your chest to tighten until you couldn't breathe "I am, I'm just a little...surprised."
Steve grimaced. He wasn't convinced, you knew that, but you didn't want to tell him the truth either, you didn't want to worry him any more than you had to, not when it could be a simple coincidence.
Just then a bell rang in your head. A shiver ran down your spine, the fear growing more and more. You closed your eyes for a second, just for a second, but the moment you opened them the whole atmosphere had changed.
Something vine-like was hanging everywhere, stuck on the walls and on the floor. Tiny particles of what you expected to be dust were floating all over the place and it was so dark you could barely see where you were stepping.
The second bell rang again as you left the room. You walked slowly down the hallway, stopping only when you had that clock in front of you.
It was attached to the wall, covered by those strange, disgusting vines. The glass was slightly shattered, but the hands and pendulum still worked.
Tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock.
The third chime sounded, but this time, when you opened your eyes, it was no longer in front of you. The wall was empty, and large hands rested on your shoulders, shaking you slightly.
"Hey, pretty, what's wrong, why weren't you answering?" Steve's concern echoed in every word.
"I..." a sneaky little tear slipped down your cheek, remembering everything that had happened the last few days.
The headaches, the nosebleeds, the nightmares about the crash, the watch, your father.
"'You' what?" Dustin insisted, staring at you.
"I think he's coming for me" you whispered, your voice trembling, covering yourself with your arms, trying to lighten the burden you were beginning to feel.
"What?" you looked at Steve. He looked almost as scared as you did. His eyes were narrowed slightly, his eyebrows were drawn together between his brows and his jaw was clenched so tight you could hear his teeth grinding.
Suddenly, without your expecting it, Steve took your hand and started walking briskly to the exit of Hawkins High School, the kids following as fast as they could.
"Steve? What are you doing?" you muttered, shaking your head slightly.
"We can't just stand here and wait for whatever this thing is to come after you" he growled under his breath "I don't plan on letting it take you, not you" his face softened a little, letting you see the fear in his eyes, "I'll do whatever is in my power not to lose you, even if it means having to come face to face with the whole damn upside down."

I was tagged by the absurdly talented @copperarsenite thank you thank you!!! Let's start with some published pieces on ao3...
It ain't fiction, chapter 7: The Real Thing
Eddie had taken care to really consider what it all meant before he ultimately came to the decision that he was haunted. She was everywhere. In line in front of him at the drugstore. Browsing the racks of new releases at Record Surplus. Sipping on a strawberry banana smoothie in the park.
She took my hand and I made it, I swear
The girl is leaning on the side of her van as she flips open her zippo lighter, running it along the lip of the tube, itself emblazoned with bright reds and purples bleeding into the black of the label. The bottom of the thing is littered with small print and serious looking symbols, urging users not to do exactly what Eddie clearly has planned. She snickers to Jeff, whose arms are crossed as he leans right next to her, and Chrissy can see Eddie's perfectly straight, somehow brilliantly white teeth.

Chrissy tapped her fingertips against the pages of the magazine, watching Eddie process what she’d just read for him in the middle of their dining room. It was an unusually quiet day in their home as of late, and with Dani off at school and the house to themselves, they kept the sliding glass door open to let the morning air in.

The jungle juice was rancid. The mood in the room, moreso.
Viking AU:
Today, like all days, begins with prayer. Christine falls to her knees, ignoring the pangs of hunger in her stomach and the urge to run from her chest and begins the day in quiet contemplation of her place in the world. She clasps her hands together near the back of the chapel, watching the way the rising sun casts colors from the stained glass onto the gray stone floor. This will likely be the most color she sees all day, if the past few weeks have been an indicator.

A fortnight has barely passed by the time the seeds have begun to sprout, tall and proud, and she still hasn’t bled.
Some conclusions I can draw: I'm big on catching my characters in the middle of their particular situations. I like touching on inner tension/turmoil. It's either a whole-ass paragraph or a single sentence, apparently!

A/N: LOOK AT HER! SHE’S SO PRECIOUS!!!!🥰🥰
———————————————————
It’s Miranda’s first day back at work since coming out of her coma after her near-death shooting seven months ago. You were a nervous wreck, seeing her in that hospital bed terrified you. Many times you were asked if you wanted to turn off her life support, at the beginning of it you straight up refused. However, as the months went on, your hope that she’d make it started dwindling. You still remember the day she woke up, it was the most relief and emotion you’d felt in your entire life. Lying in the makeshift hospital bed next to her, you’d heard a very hoarse, almost silent, “Y/N?” You were by her side in a second, her hand clutched in yours, tears streaming down your face.
In all honesty, you didn’t even want her to go back to work but she’s always been determined. Now that she is, you’ve been a nervous wreck all day. You can’t help your shaking, sitting in a ball on the couch, switching between playing with your wedding ring and looking at the time. 6.08pm. She finished at six and your apartment block isn’t far away from the station, she should be back any minute. Blankly staring at the door, you can feel your heartbeat increase. 6.11pm. Why isn’t she back yet? She should be back by now.
Hearing the key turn in the lock, you leap up from the couch, running into her arms before she even has a moment to step through the door. “You’re ok!” The breath you didn’t realise you’d been holding is finally released in a gush of air as you pull her in tight. “Woah! … Hun, I’m ok, I promise.” Looking up at her, you press your lips to hers, desperately pulling her body against yours. “I missed you.” Her gorgeous smile spreads across her face, a happy chuckle escaping her as her hands cup each side of your face. “I missed you too, my love.” Her thumb gently strokes over your cheek as she wipes away a stray tear.
“Come on, I want to at least get out of the hallway.” She says, her gentle smile looking down at you. You nod as she takes your hand in hers, pulling you into the apartment. Helping her get into her comfy clothes, consisting of a low cut gray top and short pink shorts, you softly pepper kisses to her shoulders. You pull her into bed with you, your hand gently brushing over her exposed collarbone as her arms wrap around you.
Her blonde hair, once neatly slicked back for work, is now messy, many strands falling over her eyes. Brushing them back behind her ears, you place a gentle kiss to her forehead, her gorgeous grin spreading over her face. “I was so worried about you.” Your voice is barely louder than a whisper, yet you can still feel like it's about to break. She presses her lips to yours gently. “Love, I’m not going anywhere. Not even a bullet can take me away from you.”
Your head rests on her chest, her hand gently stroking through your hair. “Oh! You know what happened today?” She says, a giddy grin pulling at her lips. “Mmm?” You look up at her, your chin now gently resting on her bare skin. “She had too much wine with Pyke last night and came in really hungover so Chrissy decided to connect her phone to the station’s speakers. Despacito was playing on repeat for 12 minutes, each time with increasing volume before Robin finally threw her coffee mug at her.” She was struggling to hold in her chuckles, her face lighting up at memory. You can’t help but laugh, you could easily see that happening. Robin tends to lash out when she’s aggravated and Chrissy well… loves pissing her off till that happens. Chrissy is a fellow detective at the station, Robin and her have always had a friendly rivalry going.
“That’s hilarious, babe. Was the coffee mug at least empty?” Miranda has to bite her lip to stop herself from laughing as she shakes her head, her gorgeous grin lighting up her face. “No, Chrissy had a coffee stain on her shirt all day.” Her voice gets increasingly higher pitched as she says this, bursting into a giddy chuckle at the end. Both of your bodies shake, convulsing with laughter.
God you love her laugh. Her face always lights up, she looks absolutely gorgeous when she’s happy. It was one of the many reasons why you fell in love with her. Her laugh, her smile, her personality, she’s so fiercely loyal, and she’s always giving everything her all. In your eyes, she was the most perfect, beautiful woman in the world. It’s impossible to feel sad around her because she knows exactly how to cheer you up and you love her for it.
“I love you.” You say, now pretty much lying on top of her, your arms resting over her shoulders. Her lips come to yours, soft and tender, a grin growing on her face. Her arms, overlapping on the small of your back, pull you in closer. “I love you too.” She whispers as you pull away, resting your head on her chest.
Closing your eyes, you smile as the familiar scent of her wafts up your nose. She always gives the best cuddles, enveloping you with her love. It’s impossible not to feel safe and comforted when you’re with her. Both of you sigh contentedly, basking in the warmth of each other's embrace. Her hand reaches up to stroke through your hair again as she occasionally lays a kiss to the top of your head.

Tyler x Fem! Reader
🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓
Ask anyone in The Ramp Locals, and they’d all agree that Tyler was the sweetest, most loyal guy you could ever call a friend. He was always there for his fellow skaters, cheering them on and hanging out with them whenever they needed some company. There was just so much to like about the guy.
What the others didn’t realize was that deep down, Tyler was actually a bit lonely. Not in the case of his social circle, of course. No, Tyler was missing something else in his life. Something more....intimate.
He would never admit it to any of the other guys, but he had a feeling of envy whenever Corey was hand-in-hand with his blonde beauty of a girlfriend. He and Chrissy were always so sweet to one another, and while the others teased Corey for it, Tyler had the nagging sensation of a little green monster tugging at his heart. Though he was handsome, athletic, funny, and kind, he just hadn’t found the right girl. Someone who would make him turn into the same love-struck dope that Corey had become.
Tyler kept this secret to himself, privately moping over his lack of love. He would silently listen to his buddies talk about hot babes in bikinis and hookups in the backseats of cars. Meanwhile, he would long for something far more meaningful. Something sweeter. Something more passionate.
It followed his thoughts as he followed the others into a local diner one sunny day. They were all young men with monstrous appetites, and being active skaters didn’t help with their rumbling stomachs. It wasn’t much of a place. Just a greasy spoon of a restaurant with comfort food at the ready. What he ordered didn’t matter. A bite to eat would just help take his mind off of things.
The boys clamored into a bright red booth as they littered the floor with their skateboards. Tyler picked up the menu that had been placed in front of him. He grimaced as he realized a sticky substance that had been coating the menu was now all over his hands. He wiped them off onto his shirt with a sigh. The boys chatted away as he flipped through the food choices, looking for something that might catch his eye. His eyes glazed over as he read the descriptions for burger after burger.
“You boys ready to order?”
Tyler settled on a cheeseburger, and fries before glancing up to lock eyes with the waitress, who just happened to be the most beautiful babe he’d ever seen. His lips parted, but nothing came out as he stared at you, speechless. You shot him a confused look.
“What can I getcha?” you asked.
Tyler fumbled trying to bring words to his lips. All he could muster was broken “uhs” and “ums.” ‘Smooth,’ he thought to himself as he felt his face turn as red as the lipstick coating your smile.
“He’ll just have a cheeseburger,” Corey ordered, coming to Tyler’s rescue. “You want fries with that Ty?”
Tyler whirled around to face him. “Uh, yeah,” he stuttered out. “Fries sound good.”
You bit back a giggle, amused by how dazed the blond boy was. Clearly, he was so hungry he couldn’t think straight. As you scribbled away on your pad of paper, you made a note to get him an extra helping of fries to help him feel better. All of the other boys had no issue with figuring out what they wanted. Steak and eggs, pancakes, a club sandwich, and much more. It was a good thing you had built up plenty of experience writing down orders quickly.
“Alright! I’ll go ahead and put this in for you guys!” you smiled, tucking your pen behind your ear when you were done. With a small wave, you turned on your heel to head to the kitchen.
What the diner lacked in cleanliness it made up for in the style, and that was apparent when it came to your uniform. You adored the baby blue dress that framed your figure under the apron you had on. It was fun to twirl around, letting the skirt swish as you moved. It made you excited to get a little dolled up for the day. After all, a little lipstick and mascara went a long way in charming the customers enough for extra tips.
After putting in the order for the line cook, you turned to watch the table from afar. You wondered if that one boy liked your uniform. All the guys in the group were cute, but that blond was something else.
Tyler stared at you while you put in the orders, his mouth still slightly agape. He only returned to reality when he caught sight of Corey’s fingers snapping in his face.
“Hey man, what was that?” Corey asked. “You fall off your board one too many times or somethin?”
“Just lost my train of thought, dude. It was nothin,” he grumbled defensively.
“Whatever, man,” Corey replied before turning back to his conversation with Radley.
Tyler leaned back against the booth, completely lost in thought. Corey was right. What was that? He couldn’t remember the last time something had left him speechless. There was just something special about you. He was sure of that as he watched you sashay back to their table carrying a tray piled high with food.
“Alright! I hope you guys are hungry! I even threw in a little extra stuff,” you told the group as you placed each plate down. While the others watched their own meals with mouths watering, the cute blond was only staring at you. Seeing how incredibly bright the shade of blue in his eyes was, you couldn’t keep yourself from looking back at him. With a warm smile on your face, you set his burger and extra fries down.
“If you need anything else at all, please don’t be shy~” you said with all the sweetness you could muster up. It made you feel good to see his toned cheeks flush a soft shade of pink.
With a wave of your fingers, you left them to their meals. Little did you know that Tyler was barely acknowledging the food that he was half-starved for mere moments ago. Even while you were off taking care of other customers, he watched with curiosity and wonder. So much so that the boys were wrapping up their meals before he even had a chance to take a few bites.
“Hey, Ty!” Radley teased Tyler. “You’re takin’ forever to eat! Are you gonna do somethin’ or what?”
It was only then that he realized how far behind he was on his meal. Everyone else at the table was getting antsy, ready to pay for their own stuff, and hit the streets for more skating. It seemed like the best move to let them go do their own thing. Maybe having some time to himself would help get his focus and appetite back.
Tyler continued to pick at his food as the boys scarfed down the rest of their meals and slid out of the booth, grabbing their boards as they went.
“You comin?” Corey asked confused as he glanced at Tyler’s half eaten fries and barely touched burger. “Need a box or somethin? I can call that waitress…” Corey trailed off as his head whipped around in search of you.
“No!” Tyler blurted out loudly, prompting Corey to turn towards him with a shocked look on his face. He cleared his throat, attempting to collect himself. “I think I might just hang here a little longer and finish my food. I’ll catch you guys at the halfpipe later!”
“Sure Ty, whatever you want, man,” Corey said as he rubbed the back of his neck. He slapped Tyler on the back as he flew out the door and sped off to catch up with the gang.
When Corey and the boys disappeared from sight, Tyler turned back to his food. He munched on his fries absentmindedly as he thought of what it might be like to hold your hand, to bring you to the rink to watch him skate, to kiss your pretty red lips. He couldn’t stop the smile from etching its way onto his face as he daydreamed.
“I brought you some more!”
Tyler returned to reality at your words. He was met with the sight of your outstretched hand offering him another dish of ketchup. His eyes snapped down to his plate as he realized he had used up all of his already.
“Thanks,” he said, reaching out to take the dish. He blushed as his hand brushed against yours. As he looked around behind you, Tyler realized he was the only customer left in the diner. The lunch rush had slowed down for the day.
"Your friends left you behind?" you asked, tilting your head to the side. Being in the serving business, you had seen your fair share of fake friends ditching the black sheep in their group and leaving them to foot the bill. You hoped that wasn't the case for this guy.
"Oh nah, they helped cover me. I was just takin' too long," he said, swirling a fry around in the pool of ketchup.
You smiled softly. He really was a cute guy. Having some time alone with him was making your stomach flutter. It made you want to sweeten up his day a bit more.
"Well, that's a shame because I was feeling generous enough to bring some complimentary milkshakes for the table," you said. The mention of dessert certainly made him perk up. "You got a flavor of choice, hun?"
“Well, what’s your favorite flavor?” he asked, his cheeks flushed pink.
You beamed as he stared up at you awaiting your answer.
“Strawberry’s my favorite,” you admitted. “They use real strawberries and vanilla ice cream instead of just the processed pink stuff. It’s my favorite thing on the menu!”
“Then one strawberry milkshake please,” he said, his lips pulled up into a half-smile as he ordered. He paused for a moment, “and two straws.”
Your lips parted slightly in surprise. The blush spread from his cheeks until his entire face was red as a tomato.
“I just mean…well, you’ve been working so hard… I couldn’t finish it by myself…if- if you’d like, you could share it with me,” he sputtered.
You smiled at him. “That would be lovely.”
He grinned from ear to ear. “Radical!”
With that, you trotted back to the kitchen to put in his order. While waiting for the milkshake, you wiped down the counters and stole glances at the cute blond boy. When you’d look his way, you’d catch his eyes already on you. It made you smile to yourself every time he’d blush and turn away when he met your gaze.
After a while you heard the chef call ‘order up.’ When you went to take the drink, your nose crinkled in disgust. Sitting on the counter was a plain strawberry shake. No whipped cream, no cherries, no nothing.
‘No, no, no, this is all wrong,’ you thought as you snuck into the kitchen to add the fixings. You sprayed a mountain of whipped cream onto the shake, and topped it with a generous handful of cherries and a dusting of sprinkles.
When you were satisfied with your work, you picked up the drink and flounced back over to the table. Ever the one to provide service with a smile, you gave the boy a cheerful grin as you placed the strawberry milkshake down.
"Ta-da!" you said. To add one last touch, you plucked two straws from your apron pocket and stuck them into the creamy pink drink.
"Woah!" he exclaimed, eyes widening at the sight of the delicious dessert. He could certainly see the hard work you put into your garnishing. "This looks awesome!"
You giggled at his enthusiasm before sliding down into the seat across from him. Never had you actually sat with a customer to share a treat, but you supposed there was a first time for everything. The two of you each leaned forward, wrapping your lips around your own straws before taking a sip.
Sighs of delight came from your lips as you both enjoyed the sweet, berry flavor. That really was the good stuff.
"Damn, that's gotta be the best milkshake I've ever had," the blond boy smiled.
"Oh absolutely," you agreed.
While eyeing him carefully, you toyed around with your straw between your fingers. The top of it was marked with the stain of your lipstick. It was the same color as the cherries you stuck in.
"So…you gonna tell me your name while we're sharing a drink, cutie?"
“Tyler,” he told you, smiling. “My name’s Tyler.”
“Tyler,” you repeated. “I like that.”
He grinned, “And yours?”
You introduced yourself and he smiled, taking your hand in his from across the table and pressing a kiss to the back of it.
“Pleasure to meet you,” he breathed.
Your heart fluttered. “The pleasure’s all mine, Tyler.”
The two of you were a mess of giggling and blushing. If you didn’t know any better, you’d swear he could see the hearts in your eyes for him. As your gaze moved from his eyes to his lips, you noticed a bit of whipped cream at the corner of his mouth.
Instinctively, you pulled a napkin from your jacket, licked it, and leaned forward to wipe the cream off. He froze in shock before allowing you to dab at his cheek. When you’d finished, you realized how close you’d gotten. You could practically feel his breath on your face as your gaze flicked between his eyes and his full, pink lips.
"Heh…sorry about that," you apologized before tucking the napkin away. "I tend to be really touchy-feely. I hope I didn't make you uncomfortable."
Tyler was still coming out of his surprised daze as you found your words. He gave a small shake of his head, blond, fluffy locks moving around as he moved.
"It's all good! I don't mind the sweet stuff," he assured you. His lips seemed to be stuck in a permanent smile during the time you spent with him. Not that you minded, of course.
After all, the more time with him, the better.
"Speaking of sweet stuff," you began. "You gotta try one of these cherries. My boss always gets the sweetest maraschino cherries he can find. Really makes the desserts extra special!"
You plucked one of the numerous cherries from the top of the whipped cream mountain. The stem twirled around in between your fingertips as you held it up for Tyler to pop into his mouth.
His lips molded around the cherry, and he bit into it, pulling it from your grasp. He chewed and swallowed before throwing the stem past his lips. Your eyes widened in surprise at such an odd thing.
“You eat the stem?” you asked with disbelief in your tone.
He shook his head. “No honey, just wanna show you somethin,”
You sighed wistfully at the nickname, watching him intently while his lips moved. A minute or so went by before he pulled a knotted cherry stem from his mouth, beaming as he showed it off to you.
It made you giggle. He was just absolutely adorable. You knew he’d been trying to impress you and you’d be lying if you didn’t admit it had worked. It was making you want to be a little extra playful too.
You leaned forward. “You know what they say about people who can tie cherry stems with their tongues, right?”
He smirked. He knew.
“No, what do they say?”
A sly smile of your own was plastered on your face. The fluttery sensations were getting stronger now. Tyler was quite the charmer and it was doing wonders on you.
"I'll tell you…but only if you let me give you my number first~"
The blond boy was absolutely adoring your flirtatious ways. He snickered softly, shaking his head again. The more his hair moved around, the more you wanted to run your fingers through it. His shiny locks looked so soft to the touch.
"Well if you're gonna twist my arm over it~" he chuckled.
With that, you took the pen that had been tucked behind your ear, ready to write your phone number down on a napkin. To your surprise, Tyler stopped you, offering his hand for you to write on instead. The two of you smiled bashfully as you slipped your fingers over the back of his hand. While you held him gently in place, you scribbled down your number, staining his tanned skin with blue ink.
You really were surprising yourself with how bold you were being. Moments ago he was just another customer you were serving. Now you and Tyler were flirting like a couple of high school sweethearts.
It was a good thing you were loving every minute of it.
Tyler could see the rest of the diner staff clearing tables and wiping them down. He knew his time with you was coming to an end, at least for today. He opened his mouth to tell you he didn’t want to keep you, but paused because, well, he did want to keep you.
“I better let you go,” he muttered instead. He sucked in a breath, gathering his courage. “But uh…maybe I could take you for a milkshake. This weekend maybe? Since you got the last one?” he blushed.
You smiled at him, more than happy to hear such an offer. “I’d love to.”
He let out the breath he was holding. “Really? Great! I’ll take you somewhere real nice too!”
You giggled. “It’s a date.”
“It’s a date,” he repeated, sighing wistfully.
Tyler had a really good feeling about this. About you. Maybe his wish for something romantic in his life was coming true. He couldn’t wait to tell the others about you and the date you had planned. When the time came, he was going to get you the sweetest milkshake possible. Something as sweet as you~

Hii, if you're still taking request I wanted to ask if you could write a Gareth fic where he sees the jocks annoying you and steps in (I feel like I'm feeding the 'damsel in distress' stereotype but it's Gareth🥰💞). If you won't or can't write this thank you anyway<33
I also wanted to say I love your work and writing!
my hero.

gareth emerson x gn!reader
word count: 703
warnings: swearing, jason and his goons being assholes, jason carver in general, brief mentions of anxious!reader, fluff
a/n: hi my sweet!! thank you for your request!! this is a really precious concept. i hope it’s to your liking!! i just kind of went for it and this is the result. and thank you for saying that you like my work. it really does mean the world hearing that and i am sending you an enormous hug. enjoy! <333
————
You didn’t need to be saved. You were completely capable of defending yourself—you did it all the time—and you knew that.
But the relief you felt at Gareth’s appearance was palpable.
You were having a shitty day. One of those where everything hurt your feelings, every little thing went wrong.
You’d slept through your alarms and woken up twenty minutes before you needed to leave. Gotten toothpaste on your shirt and had to change it.
Then you’d gotten stuck in traffic because of a wreck and made it into class right as the bell rang, out of breath and a little sweaty despite the freezing temperatures.
You’d been handed back your essay in class and not done nearly as well as you hoped, despite having worked your ass off on it.
Your lunch had been rushed and tasted like shit because you had an anxious stomach ache.
But it all met a peak when you were getting books out of your locker in between classes.
“You look like hell. Do you ever sleep?” Jason Carver’s voice rang out like a shotgun from where he stood next to you. You had the unlucky advantage of his locker being a few down from yours.
You were too frazzled to even answer him. “What, you mute or somethin’ now too?” That was Andy.
You shifted your math textbook. “How’s your mom Andy? She looked like shit when I left her last night.”
Jason moved in, slamming your locker door shut. Good thing you were finished with it.
“You really shouldn’t say things like that. It’s not polite.”
“Fuck off, Jason. Just because you can’t get Chrissy off doesn’t mean you have to take that frustration out on me.”
He blushed a dark shade of red, borderline purple, his brows pushing together angrily. “You’re such a bitch. You know what—”
“What, Carver? What are you gonna do, huh?” Gareth took your books out of your hands, moving behind you to put them in your backpack for you.
Jason crossed his arms, letterman jacket crinkling as he did so. “Just making conversation. What do you want freak?”
Gareth laughed. “Original. So, what’re we chatting about this afternoon?” He crossed his arms, mimicking Jason’s pose and pouting at his fussy expression.
You looked up at him for the first time since he’d appeared. He looked like he always did. Gorgeous. Brown hair fluffy and moving with each turn of his head, shoulders enveloped in a black corduroy jacket. He looked warm.
The ache in your chest that had surfaced when Jason and his goons started bugging you vanished. Gareth was good at that.
“How your friend here is a bitch and could learn a lesson in respecting their higher-ups.”
A shadow crossed Gareth’s face. Asshole, he thought, wrapping his arm around your shoulders.
“Hey, Carver?”
“Yeah?” The blonde looked confused.
“Suck my dick.”
You coughed out a laugh, making Gareth smile and rub his hand over the top of your back before pulling you away.
Clearly, even the idea of that was bothering Jason. He spun around at your retreat. “What the hell is wrong with you? Creep!”
Gareth turned around, grabbing hold of your hand. “Aw, you know you want to. I bet it’d help release some of that tension. Bet Andy’d help you out if you’re not so fond of me!”
Jason flushed that cruel pink again, and Gareth tugged you off in the direction of your next class, which you shared.
He stopped you in the hallway, checking his watch to make sure you had a few minutes. “You okay?” He asked, blue eyes boring into yours.
“Yeah. Thank you, Gareth the Great. My hero.” He shook his head at you in disapproval, but it was hard to take him seriously with that cheesy ass grin on his face.
“You’re such a shit.” He leaned in and kissed the top of your head, lips warm and curls brushing your skin, just as the bell rang.
He made sure to wave at Jason in the parking lot after school, which only caused a more violent blush than before and a slam of a car door. Gareth, however, laughed in triumph and practically jumped he was so giddy.

Hello my darling sister wife! How about a little angst where reader meets Eddie and he’s all touchy and affectionate with her and she thinks he likes her back, but then she realizes he’s that way with everybody! Up to you if it’s a happy ending or not 🥰 - @corroded-hellfire
Went with angst to fluff because apparently I have an aversion to leaving things angsty :/

"So this is the crew!" your co-worker, Robin, makes a sweeping motion with her arm. "You already know Vickie and Dingus, of course; and this is Nancy, Jonathan, and Eddie. Everyone, this is Y/N!"
Nancy and Jonathan give shy waves, with the girl throwing in an obligatory, "Robin's told us so much about you!" You smile back at them.
Eddie, on the other hand, throws a tattooed arm around your shoulders and brings you in for a bear hug. "Welcome to our weird little family," he says with a laugh. "We've been expecting you!"
You get butterflies at his touch; it doesn't help that his deep brown eyes are the loveliest you've ever seen and his smile could light up a room. His hands leave your body too quickly for your liking, and you try to hide your disappointment as he picks Robin up and swings her around.
It seems that Eddie's a touchy-feely kind of guy with all of his friends: bumping chests with Steve when they win the coin toss for movie choice, tossing a piece of popcorn in Vickie's mouth from across the room and high-fiving her when she catches it, and laying himself across Nancy and Jonathan's laps with and teasing, "don't make any Byers babies tonight, you two!"
It’s embarrassing how much you want him to flirt with you, how much you crave his attention. While he’s bothering Jonathan and Nancy, you take the opportunity to plop onto his chair, pretending like you don’t notice his jaw drop in mock-offense.
"Hey!" he calls out, rolling off of the annoyed couple and marching over to you. "Get up, you little seat stealer." He grins as you stick your tongue out at him defiantly.
"Finder's keepers," you tell him, snuggling deeper into the La-Z-Boy, your legs dangling from the armrest.
"Oh, that's how it's gonna be?" Eddie leans over and slips his arms underneath you, scooping you up from the chair. A heat creeps through you as one hand wraps around your torso, the other around your thighs. You expect him to place you back on the ground; instead, he seats you on his legs. "Here, we'll share," he compromises. The rest of the group seems unfazed by this display of affection, further confirming your suspicions that this is simply par for the course with him.
When the movie ends, everyone stays where they are. You're certainly not complaining.
"God, that Alex woman was crazy!" Eddie groans. "How could he not see that from the start?"
Steve laughs. "Please, Munson," he jokes, "if that was Chrissy, you wouldn't notice, either."
You wrinkle your nose at the mention of the girl's name. "Chrissy?" you ask, your mouth suddenly feeling dry. "Is that your girlfriend?"
"He wishes," Robin snorts. "She was his crush all throughout high school, always lusting after her and her pom-poms." She waggles her eyebrows at the double entendre.
She was a cheerleader, you think woefully. Probably had a perfect body, perfect hair, perfect...everything. You shift slightly so that you're looking at him. "You never asked her out?"
"Nah," Eddie shakes his head sadly. "Almost asked her to prom, but then I chickened out."
"Plus, Jason would've kicked your ass," Nancy adds, and Eddie flips her off playfully.
"Fair point," Eddie mutters. "'Scuse me, sweetheart," he says to you, and you smile at the pet name, "gotta take a smoke break." Jonathan stands up to join him.
Once they leave, you work up the courage to ask your friends the question that's been on your mind all evening. "So, um, what's his deal?"
"Eddie?" Nancy says. "What do you mean?"
"Like, we just met and he's already sharing seats with me and calling me sweetheart," you explain, chewing on your bottom lip anxiously.
Steve laughs. "I swear, that guy flirts and doesn't even realize what he's doing." He doesn't say it to be mean, but it still stings, like there's a reason Eddie shouldn't be flirting with you.
Vickie notices you wince at Steve's comment. "If you're interested, we can totally do some snooping," she jumps in. "I think you'd be cute together, actually."
You shake your head. "No, it's okay," you mumble. The last thing you need is a blow to your ego when he inevitably replies, "Yeah, she seems nice, but she's not my type."
"I'm gonna head home," you tell them with a sad smile. "It's been a long day." It truly has been; you'd worked a double shift at Family Video before coming over to Steve's place for movie night. You hug everyone goodbye as you grab your bag and walk towards your car.
You pass by Jonathan and Eddie sitting on the steps, deep in conversation as they take drags from their cigarettes.
"Whoa, hey," Eddie says softly as you scoot by. "Where y'running off to, sweetheart?" There's that nickname again; you pray he can't tell that you're blushing.
"Wha-oh. 'M just tired; gonna go back home." You're suddenly too shy to look at his face. Your brazen move of taking his seat seems foolish now that you know he wasn't actually flirting.
Eddie stands up and fixes his jacket. "Aw, okay," he pouts. He glances down at Jonathan, who gives him a small nod and stubs out his cigarette before going inside.
"It was nice to meet you," you tell him, desperate to make your escape, but he gently grabs your wrist before you can run off.
"Hey, um," he stammers, "do you like pizza?"
You almost burst out laughing at the question. "Yeah, who doesn't?"
"People without tastebuds, I guess," he looks at you through his long eyelashes. "Would you maybe wanna get some with me? Some pizza, I mean? Like, tomorrow or something?"
"Like a date?" you ask, hoping you don't sound too earnest.
"Y-yeah," he nods. "If that's okay with you. If not, we can hang out as friends. Just wanna get to know the girl who dared to de-throne Eddie the Banished." His bravado creeps back in with the last statement, making you giggle.
"A date sounds great," you answer with a big smile, and you see his shoulders relax. "Pick me up at 6?"
"6 is perfect," Eddie replies, and you give him your address. "See you then, sweetheart." He leans over, pressing a soft kiss to your cheek before re-joining his friends.
And though you're already halfway to your car, you can hear a loud chorus of cheers when he announces that he's scored a date with you.

happy birthday my photocheer queen!!! 🥰 could i get a "you remembered?" for them, please?
Tumblr media
jonathan x chrissy || adorable fluff || 833 words
A/N: ahhh thank you for this prompt! I made it extra sickeningly sweet just for you<3 happy, super cute surprises!!
yesterday's prompt
Tumblr media
She gripped the package in her hands, reminiscent of Ash from Evil Dead discovering the Naturom Demonto (Jonathan would appreciate her reference). It wasn’t going anywhere until he got home.
Chrissy stashed the wrapped box in her makeup drawer, confident that he would never discover it if he snooped around her vanity. This birthday gift had to remain a surprise, even though she had struggled to keep her own secret. With each passing day, the nagging sensation at the back of her mind grew, making it increasingly difficult for her to resist the urge to grab the package from the drawer and hand it over to Jonathan to open immediately.
But today was finally the day! She’d held out long enough!
She hunkered down at the kitchen table, waiting for him to return from his birthday tradition of going out on a dawn photography walk. The touch of Jonathan’s lips still warmed her forehead when he kissed her goodbye this morning in bed, and she let herself get lost in her own thoughts.
When their door swung open, she leapt up in the air, startled, bringing back memories of her time on the Tigers’ cheer team. There was a rush of the morning chill into the room that made her shiver just a little, reminding her winter would soon be here.
Without missing a beat, Chrissy kept her tone peppy when they locked eyes. “Happy birthday, love.”
Jonathan shook the autumn cold out of his jacket, smiling that little grin he reserved just for her. His camera bag swung at his side, kept safe under his right arm. His cheeks were stained pink from the whipping morning wind, but he looked as pleased as ever regardless.
“Hope I didn’t keep you waiting too long.” He glanced around the tiny kitchen before his gaze landed on her and the box in her hands. His head shook. “I thought we said no presents this year?”
“I agreed to no presents for me,” she said smugly, thumbing her chest. “Now come on, no semantics, get over here birthday boy. I’ve been dying for you to open this up all week.”
Jonathan hung his things at the entryway hooks and when he reached her, he  kissed her nice and slow. She could feel the lingering smile on his lips, cold soaked all the way through. He was practically a walking ice cube. Nudging the gift into his hands, he relented at last to look down at the small gift.
“Alright, alright,” he laughed. “I’ll be a good sport. Mom would kill me if she heard you complain that I tortured you all morning.”
Chrissy buzzed. The second she’d seen the window display, she knew she had found the perfect gift to give him. Jonathan was the worst to shop for—never asking for anything and rarely giving any hints when it came time for the holidays. But this year, she had pieced together, like one of her favorite Agatha Christie’s sleuths, that he had missed this particular thing for a long while.
The ribbon fell undone with quick work, and the delicate plaid paper crinkled as he ripped the pattern in half. He paused to make sure she was watching as he lifted the lid of the plain cardboard gift box to reveal his surprise.
His dark eyes flickered when he peered inside. “Is that—I mean, wait, did you…”
Excitement caught his voice and kept it wound tight. Jonathan pulled out the contents to examine the metal circle hanging off the blue collar.
Chrissy bit her lip. “It’s still blank. I thought you’d waited long enough to have the honor of naming him.”
He clasped the dog collar tight within his grasp. “How did you know? I mean, I never said…”
“No, you never told me.” She smiled warmly as he trailed off again. “But you mentioned one night how you loved your family dog, that he was your best friend while your parents were—” This was supposed to be light, she didn’t need to bring up memories of his father today. “—well, you know. I just thought, maybe, you were too scared to ask me, and I saw the cutest, fluffiest mutt at Marty’s pet store and remembered you said Chester had this crazy amount of wild fur and—”
Jonathan embraced her, unable to contain his happiness any longer. “You remembered? You remembered all that and realized that I wanted a dog for us? I told you that story months ago! After the big rain storm reminded me of the time Will, Chester, and I were stranded in Castle Byers practically all night.”
“How could I not remember Jonathan Byers telling an endearing childhood story? And the fluffy guy found me! He’s on hold right now. We just have to go pick him up from Marty’s.”
Jonathan kissed her and clasped the collar between their palms. “Have I ever told you how outrageously brilliant and beautiful you are?”
“Maybe,” she said in between kisses. “Once or twice.”

J in Taiwan, you say?? 👀
Our little Mormon nut is going on a mission trip 🥰 Tagging @jewelledfoxes and @chrissy-n-eddie since they asked too 🍓
Richie dumps his wool suit coat from the jump, citing with his pointer finger the perspiration beading on his brow as if that means anything in the eyes of God. Jason for the hundredth time wishes his partner was stronger. But of course that’s hubris and it will be punished because six days later Jason dozes off in a wet-bulb of 90 degrees on the G line. He means only to make it to Xiaonanmen, where Francis and the boys will be performing barbershop quarter to a small group of expats hungry for the sounds of home. Except Jason dozes off. Jason hasn’t napped since he was four years old. He wakes up at the end of the line, dazed and disoriented, with an elderly woman in a floral bucket hat clucking over him with a damp handkerchief. Blearily, he comes to understand that the difference between dozing off and passing out is largely one of semantics and posture. She lifts the lid of a thermos to his lips, and he sips hot tea he will later come to recognize as buckwheat. The woman escorts him firmly to a bench and makes Wait here hands as she fetches a conductor. From the edge of earshot, Jason knows they are laughing at him. He has never felt so meager.

The Lady and the Lord
Chapter 4
Eddie munson x fem!reader
This is a repost since the old blog doesn't work anymore. 🥰
Chapter summary: some plans are made, the reader goes to check on Eddie and, unfortunately, it seems to be Max's time.
Chapter warnings: spoiler season 4, mention of harassing.
Tumblr media
Soon after Robin and Nancy arrived and Max got out of.. trance.
She told us about hearing a voice calling her name and seeing a grandfather clock.
"It was here. RIght here" She says pointing her torch to a wall in the hallway.
"A grandfather clock?" Robin asks.
"It was so real. And then when I got closer, suddenly I just.. I woke up." She explains.
"It was like she was in a trance or something" Dustin adds.
"Just like Eddie said" I say.
Max turns to look at us. Scared.
"That's not even the bad part"
With that she lead us back to Ms Kelly's office showing us Chrissy's and Fred's file.
"Fred and Chrissy, they both came to Ms Kelly for help. They both were having headaches, bad headaches that wouldn't go away. And then..then the nightmares. Trouble sleeping. They'd wake up in a cold sweat. Then they started seeing things. Bad things. From their past. These visions... they just, they kept on getting worse and worse, until eventually...everything ended" Max explains, fear dominating his voice.
I don't like where this is going..
"Vecna's curse" Robin says.
Yeah... I don't like where this is going.
"Chrissy's headaches started a week ago. Fred's, six days ago. I've been having them for five days."
Fuck... I feel my stomach turning, this can't be happening.
"I don't know how long I have. All I know is that, for Fred and Chrissy, they both died less than 24 hours after their first vision. And I just saw that goddamn clock, so..." She's breaths shakily, tears threatening to fall from her eyes. "Looks like I'm gonna die tomorrow."
Before any of us could say something, a loud noise catches our attention.
We all look at each other and Steve take charges.
"Stay here" he tells us walking to the door, grabbing what I think is a long lamp and head out of the office.
We obviously follow him out, carefully walking behind him.
We hear nother noise, like doors opening or something, then footsteps approaching, quickly.
Steve get ready to attack when from the corner a very agitated Lucas appears and they all yell.
"It's me" Lucas exclaims.
"Jesus! What's wrong with you Sinclair?" Steve yells back, catching his breath.
"I'm sorry"
"I could've taken you out with this lamp!"
"Sorry guys, sorry" He pants. "I was... I was biking for eight miles... just.. give me a second.. shit"
We all look at him confused.
"We've got a code red." He finally say, still panting.
"What?"
Lucas then walks to Dustin.
"Dustin, I've been with Jason, Patrick and Andy, and they've gone totally off the rails." He starts talking, fast "They're trying to capture Eddie, and they think you know where he is. You're in terrible danger"
"Fucking dickheads" I mutter.
"Yeah" Robin agrees.
"All right. Yeah, that definitely sucks, but we've got bigger problems than Jason right now" Dustin tells him, then turns to look at Max, Lucas does the same worried and confused at the same time.
We decided it's better to just go to Nancy's house and think of something to do.
I offered to go check on Eddie before heading to Nancy's... now I'm kinda regretting it.. on one hand I'm nervous to be alone again with Eddie, even if we get along, on the other hand I'm worried about Max and I don't want to leave her, but I can't back away now.
"Eddie?" I whisper, hoping he can hear me and won't be scared someone actually caught him.
"Eddie? It's Y/n." I open the boathouse door. "I brought you something"
I scan the room and I see him slowly emerging from under the tarp, the sight makes me giggle.
"Is that comfortable enough for you, my lord?" I ask with a giggle.
"Oh? That? Oh yeah, 5 starts out of 5, definitely" he says, a smile slowly appears on his face.
"Here" I walk closer to him handing him my Walkman and some cassettes. "To... keep your mind busy."
He looks at me smiling, genuinely.
"It helps me to distract myself.. if you want.." I shyly say.
He reach out and grabs the Walkman from my hand. Our hands slightly touching for only a moment, but it was enough... just enough.
"Thanks" he says checking my cassettes, with a grin. "Let's see what m'lady listens to"
"Are you going to judge me?" I joke.
"Oh, definitely" he says sitting down.
"Don't be too mean" I sit down with him.
All my nervousness thrown out of the window, completely disappeared.
"Aahh.. look at this. The Beatles, nice! you're into the classics.. that's good" he says impressed.
"My grandmother left her old vinyls at home so.. " I shrug.
"Bowie... not my favourite, but still a good one" he keeps looking.
"Mhmm" I hold back a chuckle.
"Oh...but... look..at..these..." he says, a smirk on his face. "We got: Metallica, oh! Mötley Crüe, Iron Maiden! Judas Priest and... Dio. Quite loud bands for someone as quiet"
"Yeah.. I guess"
"Hey, I'm not judging... far from it" he chuckles.
"Well.. you're not the only freak in town" I smile at him.
"But you're the only beautiful one" he winks.
He said that last part in a whispers.
"I.. you... you need to stop doing that" I stutter out looking away from him.
"Why? It gets you all flustered and cute.. I can't help myself" he says simply.
I'm glad he's smiling, though, even if it is at my expense.
I playfully roll my eyes.
"You're terrible"
"I've been called worse, you need to improve your game, m'lady" he teases, fully turning to look at me.
"Gotta need to teach me then, my lord" I tease back.
"Anything for you" he smiles wickedly.
"Anything? Careful, I just might take advantage of that." I say.
"Fine by me" he shrugs. "Are... are we flirting right now?" That smirk back on his lips.
I widen my eyes, biting my lips instinctively.
"I... I... I don't know.." I let out a nervous chuckle looking away.
He just smiles, probably enjoying my flustered face, but then he change the subject.
"Can I ask you something?" He asks me.
"Sure.." I say, still a bit flustered.
"Why.. why are you helping me?" He asks, all of a sudden looking away, feeling not so confident anymore.
"Well, we just-"
"Not them.. why are you helping me?" He asks again.
That catches off guard.
I look at him, he's fidgeting with his hands, nervously.
"Do you remember when we got paired up for history? Last year.. more or less."
He nods. "How could I forget?"
"Remember when we were at the library and Jessica Perry basically threw her orange juice, or whatever shut she was drinking, on me?" I ask him.
"She thought you had slept with her boyfriend for some reason.." he laughs at the absurdity of that situation.
"Yeah" I laugh too "I simply had to deliver his graded paper from math, that was it... the professor forced me since I was the last one in class when she remembered.." I roll my eyes.
"That's why I always run right out of class as soon as the bell rings"
"Oh I know" I say "anyway... I was soaked and you offered your leather jacket to shield me from the rain outside, even if it was the only thing you had to protect yourself, and even if it would mean having your jacket all sticky"
He just looks at me, not saying anything.
"My point is... you offered your jacket and you offered to drive me home, even if we live on the opposite side of town. Someone as kind as you doesn't deserve... this shit"
He smiled embarrassed and lets out a nervous laugh.
"You really think that? But... I might've changed and gone crazy" he suggests.
"Well, if you don't believe me.. here's my second reason: Dustin just doesn't become attached to evil souls.." I smile at him and he looks surprised, relieved.
"Thank you, m'lady" he says.
"You're welcome, my lord"
We just look at each other, he looks at me with affection and gratitude. He reach out to grab my hand but Dustin's voice stops him.
"Y/n do you copy?"
Dustin...
"Sorry" I tell Eddie, who just sighs.
"What a timing, Henderson" I hear him mutter.
"Yeah, I copy. What's up?" I ask grabbing the radio Dustin gave me before leaving.
"Are you coming back?"
"Steve... you know I'm a grown-up? Right?" I chuckle.
"I don't care, honey, it's dangerous and.. and" he starts.
"Stevie, Stevie.. I'm coming back soon, I promise. Calm down... jesus, you're worse than any mother" I tell him "I'm coming, bye"
And I put away the radio not waiting for an answer.
"Mommy wants you home, uh?" Eddie says.
"Apparently.." I roll my eyes.
"Okay" he says, a disappointed smile on his face.
"I'm.. I'm sorry." I look at him "I really am"
"It's cool, really, it's Harrington being a pain in the ass" he tries to laugh it off.
"Yeah" I laugh. "I'll come back as soon as I can.. I promise"
"You promise?" He asks, regaining that playful smile.
"Of course...you got my Walkman there" I say playfully, pointing at my Walkman.
"Right, gotta have to give it back at some point I guess" he chuckles.
"Definitely" I give him a smile before heading to the door.
"Wait" he says walking up to me. "Be careful out there."
He's looking at me with the sweetest smile and eyes I've ever seen. I could literally melt on the spot.
"Sure" I smile back.
I turn, open the door and walk out, before I can close the door behind me, he stops me once more.
"And.. by the way.. we were definitely flirting" he winks and closes the door.
"Oh my god" I mutter, feeling completely speechless.
"How's Eddie?" Dustin asks as soon as I enter the Wheeler's basement.
"He's... he's fine, I cheered him up and gave him my Walkman so he'll... uh.. keep his mind busy somehow" I tell him.
"You... cheered him up?" Steve looks at me surprised.
"Yeah.. I mean he was laughing at some point so.. I guess" I say looking everywhere but them.
"What did I miss? You guys are together or something?" Lucas asks, visibly confused.
"No.. no" I answer.
"We're sure Eddie has a thing for her, but she doesn't want to believe us" Dustin points out.
I just roll my eyes sitting beside Lucas and looking at what seems some old papers.
"What's this?" I ask starting to reading the titles.
"Robin and Nancy's found these articles about Victor Creel" Dustin answers.
Cool.
"Okay, be honest. Uh..you guys understand any of this?" Steve questions, he was already reading one when I came in.
"No"
"Pretty straightforward" Dustin states.
"Oh straightforward, really?" Steve raises his eyebrows at him.
"What's confusing to you?" Dustin's being a know-it-all and Steve being irritated by it is my favourite thing in the world, but I try to hold back a giggle.
"So far, everyone Vecna has cursed died, except for this old Victor Creel dude Nancy found. He's the only known survivor. If anyone knows how to beat this creature, it's him" Dustin keeps explaining.
"Well... that makes sense... the killing mode is the same, according to what's written here" I comment pointing at the papers.
"Yeah, but that's assuming he was cursed, Henderson, which we don't even know. How can Vecna have existed in the '50s? It doesn't make sense" He talks to himself more than to us at this point.
"As far as we know, Eleven didn't create the Upside Down. She opened a gate to it. The Upside Down has probably been around for thousands of years. Millions. I wouldn't be surprised if it predated the dinosaurs." Dustin responds.
"Dinosaurs? What are we-"
"Okay" Lucas chimed in "but if a gate didn't exist in the '50s, how did Vecna get through?"
"And how's getting through... now?" I ask.
"And why now?" Lucas adds.
"And why then? He just pops out in the '50s, kills one family, and he's like, 'Oh I'm good'. And poof, he just disappears. Just...gone? Only to return 30 years later and start killing some random teens? No, I don't buy it." Steve rambles then exhales deeply. "Straightforward, my ass. You know, honestly, Henderson, a little humility every now and then, it wouldn't hurt you"
"Ooh mommy's mad" I mutter to Lucas, but Steve apparently heard me because he glares at me but he eventually sits down too.
I just notice.. Max sitting at a desk writing something. I don't think I could even imagine what she's thinking.
"Any idea what she's writing?" Dustin asks.
"I don't know" I whisper and Lucas only shrugs.
"Did she sleep?" I ask.
"I mean, would you?" Lucas questions back at me.
We're gonna find a way.. I know. We have to.
My thoughts are interrupted by a door violently opening and the arrival of Nancy and Robin.
"Okay so.." Nancy starts" We have a plan"
"Great"
"So, thanks to Nancy's minions, we are now rock-star psychology students at the University of Notre Dame." Robin explains.
"I'm now Ruth"
"And I'm Rose"
"Nice GPA" Dustin comments looking at 'Ruth' file.
"So we called Pennhurst Asylum, told them we'd like to speak with Victor Creel for a thesis we're co-writing on paranoid schizophrenics-" Nancy explains.
"To which they said no" Robin quickly adds.
"But we landed a three o'clock with the director" Nancy continues.
"Now all we have to do is charm him and convince him to let us talk to Victor" Robin states, simply as breathing.
"Then maybe we can rid Max of this curse"
"Sounds like a plan" I say.
"About that. We've been doing our Victor Creel homework, and uh... we got some questions" Steve speaks.
"Lots of questions" Lucas adds.
"So do we. Hopefully, Victor has the answers" Nancy says with a sigh.
"Wait.. wait... wait.. wait a second. Uh... Where's mine?" Steve asks with a nervous chuckle looking around.
"Me and Nancy are going." Robin informs him.
"What? Why?" Steve is...unsurprisingly surprised he wasn't included in the plan.
"Because being three would definitely make them suspicious" Nancy say standing up and heading upstairs.
"Also, me and Nancy found out about him so.. it's fair" Robin basically mocks him.
"Wha-? C'mon.. Nance!" He starts to run upstairs to catch up on Nancy.
"What's up with him?" Robin asks me, looking at me with an amused smile.
"He has... like.. the protector syndrome.. or-" I start.
"He still has a thing for her" Dustin chimes in and I nod.
"Ooh" She realises. "Also.. How's Eddie?" She asks.
"Oh he's good, he-" I interrupt myself when I see her teasing smile. "What are you smiling at?"
"Robin!" Nancy calls for her from upstairs.
"Gotta go" and she runs upstairs too.
"Wait.. Robi-... fuck" I sigh and close my eyes in frustration.
When I feel observed, I open my eyes seeing Lucas and Dustin looking at me.
"What?" I ask them, rather annoyed.
"Oh nothing... just... I'm right" Dustin states proudly.
"What about humility?" I ask him, rhetorically.
"Well even I know Eddie has a thing for you" Lucas chimes in.
"He does not"I groan. "Guys, c'mon it's a way to distract himself. No big deal"
"You gotta start to believe someone could actually like you. You're cool, you're a badass, Y/n. You fight monsters." Dustin tries to convince me.
"Yeah but I can't say fuck off to a dickhead who's groping me" I blurt out without thinking.
Lucas looks at me apologetically, while Dustin is speechless.
"What?" He almost shouts, his jaw clenching.
"Don't worry about it, it's... it's nothing" I shake my head trying to dismiss the thing, but Dustin is not one to let something like this go this easily.
"Who was it?" He asks.
"No o-"
"Andy, from the team" Lucas cuts me off answering Dustin.
"Does Steve know?"
I shake my head.
"He just saw him insisting on taking me to a party.. and stopped him right away" I tell him.
"You didn't tell Steve what happened in the gym?" Lucas asks.
"What about the gym?"
Fuck. I didn't hear Steve coming back in the basement. Nancy and Robin must've left.
"Weren't you begging Nancy to take you with them?" I joke, trying to change the subject.
"What about the gym?" He repeats his question, more sternly and crossing his arms.
I deeply sigh, looking at Lucas giving him permission to tell Steve what happened.
"Well... there were basketball practice and she-" Lucas starts, but is cut off by Steve.
"I didn't ask you." He looks at me "what. About. The gym?"
I look down at my rings playing with them, nervously.
"Fuck.." I mutter.
"I'm listening" he says cupping his ear towards me to show me that he was, indeed, listening.
"I had to take some pictures of the team practicing, for the paper. It was going all good, I was taking the photos and all. When I was preparing the camera for the next shots... this guy approached me.. he started by asking me about the pictures, he.. uh.. he got closer, to look at the camera and he suddenly whispered some.. some.. things. When I tried to get away, he... uh.." my feel my voice breaking a little.
"He grabbed her waist holding her, he wasn't letting her go until the bell rang" Lucas finishes for me, thankfully.
"Why didn't you tell me? Is he the same guy who invited you to the party?" He asks and I nod "I thought he was just insisting the other night... I'm so sorry, honey" Steve apologies.
"Stevie, you have nothing to be sorry for" I let out a little chuckle.
"It's Andy who should apologise" Dustin says and Steve nods.
"Yeah... I know.. can we please change subject.. we got bigger shit to worry about" I look at all of them "please?" I repeat.
"Fine.. but this is not over" Steve sweetly tells me, sitting beside me.
I really hope Nancy and Robin find some answers, we need them. Now more than ever.
I really can't even think about losing Max, she's literally the sister I never had.. and I'd punch myself so hard for realising it now.
"Stop staring" I whisper at the boys.
I know they're worried sick, but staring at her won't help.
"I already know they're staring" Max all of sudden answers me.
"What, sorry?"
"You said you needed something?"
"Just hanging out"
They all try to act casual, failing miserably. I chuckle at them.
"How you think your eyes boring into the back of my head is protecting me from Vecna, I don't know" she says gathering something and standing up to walk to us.
He stops before us, the boys keep pretending to do anything else, so I playfully roll of my eye looking at her.
"You can look at me now" she tells them.
"Thank you, sorry"
"Sorry" They all say.
Max looks at the envelopes she has in her hands, and after letting out a small sigh she hends them to us.
"For you" she hands one to Dustin. "For you" one to Steve. "For you" one to me. "And, uh... For you" she hands the last one to Lucas.
"Oh, and, uh... give these to Mike, El and Will. If you can ever get a hold of them again."
Steve and Dustin start to open the letter, but Max quickly stops them.
"What are you doing. No, don't. That's not for now. Don't open it now."
"No? Okay" Dustin mutters. "I'm sorry, what is this?"
"It's, uh...it's a fail-safe. For after. If things don't work out." She says, defeat in her voice.
"Wait, whoa. Max, things are gonna work out" Lucas tries to reassure her.
"No!" She stops him "no, I don't need you to reassure me and tell me it's all gonna work out. People have been telling me that my entire life and it's almost never true. It's never true. I mean, of course this asshole curses me. Should've seen that one coming"
I can see the anger, the sadness... the fear in his voice. It breaks my heart... fuck, if we ever find this Vecna I'm gonna kill him myself.
She then goes grab the radio from the table.
"If we go to east Hawkins, will this reach Pennhurst?" She asks.
"Of course" Dustin softly says.
"Why are we talking about East Hawkins?" Steve asks alarmed.
We all share a look that Steve's ready to stop
"No, no no no no"
We all convinced Steve to drive, obviously, he can't say no to us, especially after Max's threat of suing him.
We drove to Max's trailer so she could leave her letters to her mother, but when she cane back she was scared, terrified..
She's now by Billy's grave, reading her letter to him probably. We're waiting for her by the car.
"She better hurry" Steve says, annoyed only to hide how actually worried he is.
"C'mon Steve, it's the least we could do. Help her, support her as much as we can until we find a way to save her" I tell him.
"Hopefully soon" Lucas adds.
"Hopefully soon" I nod.
My leg is bouncing, I'm biting my nails as my eyes are fixed on Max.
"All right, it's been long enough" Steve gets out of the car, walking to Max.
"Steve, just give her some time." Lucas tries to hold him back.
"I have, all right, Sinclair? I'm calling it. If she wants to get a lawyer, she can" Steve replies.
"Steve!" I call him. I look at Dustin and Lucas and go to follow Steve.
"Max! Time to giddy up. Yeah? Max?.." he says.
I catch up with him and I see him shaking Max and calling her name, but I hear no answer from her.
"What's happening?" I ask, kneeling in front of her right away. "Max!"
"Wha-"
"It's like yesterday.. in ms Kelly's office..." I tell him, I widen my eyes. "Vecna"
"Wake up" Steve keeps trying clapping his hands to somehow catch her attention, no use.
"Fuck!" I swear. "GUYS!" I call them.
"Max, wake up! Wake up" Steve keeps repeating those words over and over hoping they might work anytime soon.
Lucas and Dustin arrive too and they too start to call Max, tell her to wake up.
Nothing works.. Nothing.
"Call Nancy and Robin! Go get them! Call Nancy and Robin! Go!" Steve screams at Dustin, who runs to the car ready to call the girls.
Let's hope they found an answer... let's Fucking hope.
"Max, Max c'mon, wake up. Wake up, please"
Fuck.
Fuck.
Fuck.
I feel my eyes tearing up, I can't lose her, we can't lose her.
I look over Dustin, standing on top of the car, probably to find a better signal or something.
Shit... they're not answering.
"Max! Get outta there" they keep shouting.
I can only stare at her eyes... her empty eyes.
"Max please.."
All of a sudden Dustin's back, with... Max's Walkman and cassettes...? What?
"What is this?" Lucas asks.
"What's her favourite song?" Dustin asks.
"Why?"
"Robin says if she liste ... it's too much to explain right now. What's her favourite song?" He shouts
I start to think of what's her favourite song.. I know I know it.
"Oh shit shit shit... I know I know... fuck" I mutter and everyone looks at me.
"Think!"
"I am thinking... fuck... Kate Bush...one Kate Bush song...fuck"
We look at her cassettes trying to find some of Kate Bush's songs.
I look at the list of songs.
"Cloudbusting... no.. the big sky... no shit...the morning fog... no.. Here! This one!" I hand Dustin the cassette and he immediately put it in the Walkman and put the headphones on Max.
We keep calling her name anyway, to wake her up somehow.
It seems like nothing's happening... then she starts to levitate.
Oh shit, Eddie said that is what happened to Chrissy right before... dying.
I instinctively hold Steve's hand, we don't stop calling her name, not once.
"C'mon Max" I whisper, this better fucking work.
Suddenly we hear her gasp and soon after she falls on the ground.
We all gather around her to check on her.
She's breathless, like she just stopped running. Lucas is hugging her tightly to him.
I let out a big sob and finally my tears fall down my cheeks.
"I thought we lost you" Lucas says to Max, still holding her close.
"I'm still...I'm still here" she tells him, grabbing onto him just as tightly.
"Shit" I mutter and Steve hugs me to him, rubbing my back.
"You're fine.. oh fuck you're fine" I say... well, more to make me realise that than anything.
We all stay there to catch our breath.
