Despite being unwell all weekend, I loved my first visit to Golden Plains - an eclectic music festival held at the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre in Victoria.

The music was so good that it was painful not to be able to dance to most of it! It was awesome to see Mogwai and The Avalanches again. Thundercat was brilliant (listen to Them Changes above - this is so good live!), and so were Grizzly Bear - a very pleasant reminder of good times at uni.

Out of everyone I didn’t know before the festival, I was most impressed with MzRizk and Baker Boy. MzRizk’s DJ set was epic and I was gutted I was listening from my tent and not on the dance floor. Indigenous rapper Baker Boy put on such an amazing show, his music was so energetic and makes you want to dance - have a listen to Marryuna above and see what I mean!

No proper camera, just my phone - so the few pictures I took definitely can’t capture the atmosphere. The official photographers did a pretty good job though (see their pics on Flickr) and so did the illustrator/designer.
