Adams contradicts the theory put forward by Erikson that conveys people over the age of 65 will withdraw, spending their time reflecting on their lives as opposed to actually continuing to live. - Her avid travelling and adventures are a clear contrast.

However, this does link into activity and disengagement theories- With activity theory drawing on the idea that there is a positive correlation between keeping active as you age, and aging well.
