okay so this was at the top of my list since you said?? That you were planning on bringing EUNJAE into our wonderful thg verse 🥺🥺🥺…and so the first person I actually though of throwing at them was ANNIE….I dunno?? I guess I just have a feeling that Annie would like eunjae for their personality- like they’re rough in mannerisms and a tad messy, both of which Annie doesn’t mind bc she’s used to being around ppl like that ( ie. Ga-ram & ara ) and also…I think she actually prefers…I think being treated completely like a piece of glass will begin to drive her up the wall :’D also my interpretation of annie is suspicious of most men/male-aligning individuals….so eunjae already checks all her boxes there <3

another dynamic I had been thinking about when you changed their fc :’D granted I’m not too sure how well these two would work out since SABRIEL isn’t the best at reading between the lines and ANNIE often operates in shades of grey but it would!! Be fun to see how they interact with one another especially at least for me throwing Annie at someone who is peppy and yet still for most part?? has good intentions?? even if sabriel can’t completely empathize with what Annie is going thru, I do think Annie would appreciate their good intentions at the very least :’D

DOE is a revolutionist (and a hacker, I could have sworn I read that somewhere but if not ignore me jfksljfsl :’D) and so is NELL, do I need to say anything more? granted they are on the same side when it comes to #revolution…but that doesn’t mean they agree to the degree which they should go for it. Doe is all for changing the system, where as team checkmate is more focused on….taking out one and only one enemy and looking out for their community. Perhaps interacting with someone like doe could radicalize her? also if doe is a hacker, nell can always have…a rival :)

okay but to get to the meat of ur question, honestly i've been DYING to write patrick in his THG verse ( with a few revisions- haven't had the energy to write anything long form these last few weeks :'D ) espeically since the new THG movie came out ( again yeah i guess the actor playing snow is conventionally good looking but MORE IMPORTANTLY i can't wait to see blonde pretty boy snow get ass kicked in FJKLSDJFKL :'D ), so anything in that verse would be AMAZING...granted it is my fault for not having threads there quite yet just because i've been trying to make a dent in drafts across all three of my blogs since there are some that have been in there for like, months >.< and of course i know that i can take my time, but I PERSONALLY don't like it when i have too many drafts piled up.....so 4 rn i'm trying to a, get thru myungdae's drafts and b, answer plotting messages :'D but once i do that!!! i'm hoping to maybe put out a starter call ( but do u want a starter 4 marìa....i can rite it...4 free :D )

okay but back to ur question along with what we have plotted for patrick & marìa, i actually would?? love to have a thread where i get to explore patrick either during the hunger games week after felicity passed ( bc i also made....revisions to how she died....and how his breakdown went, i can spoil both here- basically the peacekeepers found out she was a rebel and so instead of starting a fire at her workplace, they set her house on fire so she burned to death alongside her family...patrick was forced to watch bc the peacekeepers wouldn't let them escape or let him go inside to save her- and thus when he got back from the 64th hunger games he tried to set his own house on fire....i'm not saying that it was probably a good idea not to leave him alone during that time, but i am absolutely saying, it was probably a good idea not to leave him alone there :/ ). ANYWAYS ENOUGH WITH THE TANGENTS- i'd love to write him during that period and just to see how he manages to find stability/a new norm during the worst(tm) period of his life and how that influences the person he becomes by the time the rebellion starts up....other things though- i did actually want to have like interactions regarding the fact that he smokes ( a lot ) in this verse or that he takes long showers/baths a lot in order to cope they probably do both seem?? innocuous at first glance...i do also have a meta i wanna type out on how his connection to fire in this verse changes in comparison to the other two verses too!

as for the other verses, ironically for all the brainrot i have, i actually am quite?? satisfied with what i have ( thanks to you and our lovely writing partners <3 ) as i never expected?? him to have enough development and connections that it would allow him to have his own blog and while i am ALWAYS open for new connections i think at this point, it more of a matter of seeing how the connections and threads he currently has unfolds rather than starting up more new things :'D

AN EXCELLENT QUESTION AS WELL HERE :3 i would say when i make new verses for patrick, i do try keep the essential elements ( ie. being an orphan, felicity and her death, and the motif of fire ) within every verse i make for him as?? these elements of his past really contribute the person he is in the present moment and so without these elements, i just don't?? don't know how different he could be without it still being him it would ring true to him :/ or at least I would feel like i'm writing someone else and not patrick. that being said, i do think part of the reason i do this so far is because at least with verse one and two, well verse two is a derivative of verse one so while patrick and myungdae are vastly different individuals, their base ( ie. their history ) is ultimately the same?? they both more or less have the same core values, which is why i can still write them both and consider them the same 'person' even if their personalities & demeanors are vastly different. in the case of verse three, determining his backstory wasn't so much of creating so much as figuring what his backstory would look like in the thg universe... i guess this is all to say that as long as the base is familiar to me, i am more than willing to write different takes of him- tldr; i think it might be the first option but i might change aspects of those key elements if necessary

THAT BEING SAID, however, i did??? have a sorta supernatural au for him that recently just got spontaneous development bc i was rewatching fr*uits basket but dubbed this time....but the thing is that some of the basic characteristics of his initial character would have to be different here- that and the fact that patrick ( myungdae here ) would be confined to a very isolated location and would be unwillingly to come out if ever for a lot of his arc so i'm not quite sure how well it would do as its own verse....it's kinda based on the sohma curse and the cat's room ( and bc you're probably reading this too, alex dont look these up on wiki if you plan on watching fru*its basket bc this is major spoilers!! )- i can go more in detail about this though if you would like though!!

A thud resonates through; the sound of files harshly cascading down wooden desk, a desk which had to suffer the consequences of Hyuk's despair just a few days ago, when tears stained his face and hand slammed surface until becoming red with numbing ache.

You wouldn't guess he had a breakdown days prior just by staring at his stoic countenance, at those features that fight to stay composed and dry as he slides the files toward the end of the desk; toward the Black Knight.

So many words about their last meeting still unnerve him. It's like he knows, and how? Pigeon carrier. Solving a puzzle. Maybe he's overthinking this time around, unconsciously finding Patrick everywhere (no matter where he goes, a lot of things remind him of his best friend).

Speaking of unnerving, he also remembers the quiet wincing. And he remembers getting hit by a wave of worry. Why should he worry? Why should he care? His jaw clenches. He swore to himself he wouldn't care for anyone else.

"The files you wanted." He sourly addresses; files a little frayed and decayed due to the hands of time. There are new pages too; freshly printed ones that Jae-Hwan added inside. They were the one who got these files for Hyuk; the files of the disappearance of Shin Seonghun and Shin Chaeryeong. It didn't need a lot of budging...as much as he dislikes to admit it, Jae-Hwan is always willing to help (he had to hide the fact that the Black Knight requested them, otherwise, he's sure, they would've insisted on handing them themselves).

However, before the vigilante can take them, a palm grabs them and takes them back to the detective. "Why are these important?" Eyes narrow. "Why do you need these?" The Black Knight didn't expect Hyuk to give in so easily, did he? || a tale from long ago ( ft. unprompted )

If the Black Knight FLINCHES, he only hopes that the detective doesn’t notice. Loud noises- he’s learned anything from the course of five years and counting, nothing good ever comes out of sudden noises. Or surprises in general. But he can’t be that obvious, can he?

So perhaps as the mild literature professor, they know him to be jumpy, nervous despite a mellow demeanor. But the Black Knight isn’t any of that. Decisive, calm, and meticulous, they consider him. A far cry from the Shin Myungdae, the literature professor. They wouldn’t think to connect the two.

( Little do they realize, even a worm will turn. But between the Black Knight and Shin Myungdae, who is Patrick supposed to be? He certainly doesn’t feel like himself in either part. He wonders if Hyuk would know the answer. )

He glances at the leg of the desk. There are new skid marks on the floor, making a lattice with the older ones from their reunion first meeting. Behind the tall neck of his coat, Patrick frowns, watching his dear friend closely. Something happened in the last few days. His expression is even more sour and pinched than usual like he’s trying to cover up whatever is threatening to spill out. Did ANACHRON or even ARGOS do something? Did he receive bad news? The questions keep popping up like bubbles in simmering water and- Patrick bites the inside of his cheek.

That’s right, he’s not supposed to care. Slipping into the seat across, he grips the hilt of his sword tighter, not trusting himself to speak even when the files get slid across towards him.

He glances at the top. Just as he suspected; the sound made might have resounded throughout the room ( although that might also just be because the walls aren’t soundproof- Hyuk really didn’t pay much for this place, did he? ), but the files look more on the…thinner side. After all, their kidnapping was conducted by professionals- experts in the field who made sure the trail of evidence DISAPPEARED sooner rather than later. Or perhaps the police didn’t bother to look much into the case, considering that there wasn’t any family advocating for a search party. Just a seven-year-old boy and his younger sibling shoved into the foster care system.

Either way, it doesn’t surprise him that the police wouldn’t have many paper files on an unsolved case from thirty years ago. There wasn’t much to glean off of the digital records anyways. Still, he takes note of the newer sheets of paper sticking out between the yellowed pages. So there might be something NEW to gain from this after all.

Still. He waits, watching the files. There’s no way it would be this easy to get this information, especially not from Hyuk-

And right Patrick is. The files are snatched back before Patrick can even skim the top folder. Typical of Hyuk. Impatient for an answer. Even more impatient to wait for one.

The Black Knight scoffs, legs crossing as he leans back. It feels unnatural, how he wants to take back that scoff, the cocky attitude. He shouldn’t be telling his dear friend this. He shouldn’t be seeing him, let alone going ahead with this partnership. The less Hyuk knows, the better; actually, it would probably be even safer if the Black Knight let Hyuk stay STUCK behind that wall.

“And you said you knew everything there was to know about him. But I suppose even the closest of friends keep secrets from one another, no?” In other words, you didn’t know him nearly as well as you thought you did. “If you exclude the fact they were both kidnapped by ANACHRON or the fact one was a researcher in the field of time travel, they’re no one special. Of course, there wouldn’t be much effort put into finding them at the time. They didn’t have much family who cared.”

The Black Knight shakes his head. “Well, save for their children, but I highly doubt the police would listen to a seven-year-old’s pleading. Let alone a four-year-old. One disappeared off the map a year later. And other, well, he was lucky for the time being- another family took him in and gave him a new name.” Patrick peers up at his dear friend. The moonlight is rising, tonight. A pair of dark brown eyes watch Hyuk, carefully. He’ll have to find a way to steal those folders out of his dear friend‘s hands soon.

“I think you would know THAT ONE’S NAME, better than anyone else.”

*The video starts; he’s sitting at his desk with his room in the background. It’s not completely visible, but his apartment is messier than usual. There are books and folders and files strewn everywhere, some of them peeking into the camera. His bed behind him is unmade. He looks more bedraggled than usual too, with his hair messy, his skin a bit more ashen, and not to mention the bags beneath his eyes are more prominent. Like he hasn’t seen the light of day in weeks.*

*He stares back into the camera for a long moment as if to check if the video is recording. And then he glances up and coughs discreetly into his hand. Clearly, he’s not used to doing this.*

“Right…uh, so today is September 20th, 2016. It’s a Wednesday at 10:04 PM, GMT Time Zone.”

*He chuckles albeit nervously before scratching his cheek. A look up as he smiles bashfully.*

“Hello, Hyuk. Surprised to see this? Neither of us are exactly wizards ­when it comes to technology and I suppose it’s not quite like me, using technology when pen and paper is readily available. But I…for some reason, I wasn’t able to quite put this on paper. Forgive me- it most likely would be safer for you to receive this as a letter rather than through here. You would have said it yourself- you never know who is watching. I suppose you can double that number when it comes to using the ‘dark web’.

“I got on a tangent there. Let me get to the point. If you’re watching this, I’m going to assume the worst-case scenario has happened and I…I’m not with the living anymore.”

*Suddenly, he chuckles. It’s not forced, but it doesn’t sound jubilant either.*

“My apologies, it most likely doesn’t for you, but I guess it sounds a little silly, me saying that. Maybe I am exaggerating this; maybe I’m being unnecessarily obstinate. Maybe I’m just going to hit a dead end and all of this is going to be for nothing, but I couldn’t…I couldn’t just it let rest. I needed to see for myself if she, she was meant to-“

*He blinks rapidly and looks away from the camera for a moment. A hand scrubs at the corner of his eye.*

“…Sorry. Anyways, I know what you’re probably thinking; why didn’t I tell you? Actually if you happen to get ahold of this in any other scenario, I think I know what you would say.”

*He puts on his best Hyuk voice and though his voice sounds mock angry and it’s easy to see he’s trying not to laugh.*

“Yah- why didn’t you tell me this sooner, pabo-  don’t you know that I’m a pigeon- I’m coming back whether you like it or not, we’re stuck together you know that!”

*And then he breaks his impression with a genuine laugh and shakes his head.*

“I’m sorry. I didn’t-it’s not that I didn’t want you to know, but if you found out, I have a feeling you would’ve dropped everything to come over and I know they assigned your current case because of me. You’ve already done so much for me and I’ve relied too much on it. On you. I haven’t been that great of a friend these last few months either. I’m sorry; I know I should have reached out more, been a better friend to you.

“But that’s not why I made this. I guess, I just…wanted you to have this, again, in case anything happens to me. If that does end up being the reality, please…please don’t give up. There are still a lot of good things in this world, Hyuk. A lot of good people, people worth protecting and getting to know. You’re not alone in this world. I know you’re going to probably shut yourself away for a while, grieve me for even longer- do so for as long as you need to and when you’re ready, go forward. It’s not good to hold onto things for longer than needed- that’s why I’m probably going to be considered a fool by the end of this. Don’t make the same mistakes I did, Hyuk.”

*Silence. The lamp on his desk flickers.*

“…Do one thing for me though? Drink some hot chocolate for me once in while. Make sure you do the things that make you happy- if not for yourself then because I asked you to.”

*He glances at the bottom of the screen.*

“I guess…this is getting a bit long, so I’ll end it here. I care about you. A lot, Hyuk. Please be well. Hopefully, you won’t have to watch this though and I can do all these things with you when this is over. But again, this isn’t going to be sent out unless the worst case happens to me.”

WINTER!!! thank you so much for these 🥺🥺🥺 i 'm actually gonna answer the last three questions first bc the first one, i ended writing a whole page worth of that so in case someone doesn't want to it bc of mentions of em*otional abuse & cu*lts, they don't have to scroll past all that for the other questions 💕💕💕

2.   what’s the wildest style / fashion choices that Patrick makes? is there any fashion / style he likes but doesn’t feel like he can pull off, so he doesn’t wear it ?

HMMM I don’t think this is actually wild, but he is very attached to his converses, regardless of it being in either verse one or two. That’s the one thing he refuses to budge on DHDJDJD he’s honestly not that invested in fashion styles aside from just looking like a ‘gentleman’ in the most traditional sense which is pretty simple for him to emulate 😅

however, there was a time where he did dip into androgynous fashion or simply women’s fashion. It wasn’t anything too daring but just, he did like the idea of wearing a long skirt or even a shirt with ruffles….the only person who knew about this and his identity possibly not being cis-male was felicity, as it’s kind of hard not to notice when your boyfriend idly peers through your magazines bc he’s ‘just curious’ 🥲 she was the one who encouraged him to explore that part of himself, and even helped him with exploring, like for example she might buy a skirt for herself but then it turns out ‘it’s too big for me, why don’t you try it on before I return?’ That exploration phase did end though when she passed away 😭

This being said, I do think he still has those skirts ( they all go well with a collared shirt 😌 ) and let’s say, a student is getting bullied for their gender presentation, he’ll have no problem whipping out the skirts to show support 🥰

3.   you’ve probably answered this before but… how does he take his coffee?!

ironically I actually haven’t talked about his coffee order 🥲 so this is a good time to do so!! In verse one, it’s either a mocha ( it's got hot chocolate in it too <3 ), cappuccino, or as aptly adapted from one lee hyuk, ‘whatever hyuk’s having, I will take too.’ FASDSHSJDJD

In verse two, it’s an americano, mostly because it reminds myungdae of hyuk 🥺🥺🥺, who drinks sweetened ice americanos but also myungdae doesn’t like cold drinks.

4.   what is his ideal life… ? if he could snap his fingers and have everything he wanted in a second, what would it look like? 

well that’s pretty easy— a life where was felicity was alive. That’s literally all he would want, she wouldn’t have to be living with him or even dating him…( although if he’s thinking about what that life would look like, it’d probably be living in a house in Oxford with her and hyuk visits often— ) 

I do hesitate to say that is Patrick’s ideal life though because that would imply that him being with hyuk, the life he could have hyuk, the fact that he adopted both Hiro & elise is the second-best option which is??? okay!! and now for that first question.... 1.  I want the Patrick ‘Furuba AU’ rundown… if we were to ever actually do that, what would Patrick’s role/life be like ??!?

AHHHH I just realized I never got back to you about plotting for that au ( adding another plotted verse to our ever growing list?? yeessir pls 😂😂😂 i want 28394283048 servers okie?? ) okay but if we’re going towards a structure more similar to the sohma family, I actually…had an idea of how to connect Patrick to Yoojin ( who is canonically from the same clan as one of patrick’s previous lives aka ahn hak, here’s the post for information on that ).

Canonically yoojin, who could hear the voices of gods, was cursed with immortality and then punished by those same gods for receiving that ability as it was seen as a transgression…in this au, it’s not just Yoojin who is punished, but rather the entirety of his clan as well although it’s portrayed as a gift aka in exchange for hearing the voices of the gods/sixth senses, they give their bodies to the animal spirits in return. The head of the family is considered the reincarnation of the one who communed with the god who originally cursed yoojin ( the origin story of the curse, that yoojin was the one who triggered it, has been twisted aka his involvement was erased from the books ). And just as in the formation of the cults, there’s someone who’s a figurehead, there’s also always a scapegoat…in the origin story, that’s the person who supposedly refused to commune with the cat spirit so Patrick ends up being ‘the cat’/that scapegoat. 

In this au, his birth parents don’t take him and his brother to the UK because here, Patrick ( call myungdae here ) was taken from his parents to be raised by his clan….most likely he was ostracized similarly to the way Kyo was…HOWEVER, unlike Kyo, myungdae was not resigned to his fate and knew if he didn’t want to get stuck in the cat’s room, he needed an exit plan as soon as he graduated from high school…and that came in the form of a full ride scholarship to a college in London. Myungdae, who had proven to be very good at keeping his transformation a secret in the public, took it, using the excuse that he would return back to the estate as soon as he graduated from there….when graduation came around ( and thanks to felicity and hyuk’s influence ), he realized that returning back to Yeongju would mean the end of his life and therefore went no contact :) 

Basically he ran away from home by applying to grad school and then changed his name to ‘Patrick Grace’ so that he couldn’t be tracked. Things probably would’ve stayed that way too in that he still wouldn’t be able to hug anyone of a different gender ( he’s nonbinary so here he wouldn’t be able to hug either felicity OR hyuk :’D ), but he would consider that good enough being away from the clan….

However, he would be discovered after felicity passed. when he was investigating her death…the one responsible for the accident that killed her discovered Patrick’s true identity and made a deal with Patrick’s family. in exchange for exoberent amount of money and connections, the politician told the family of Patrick’s whereabouts. this way, they killed two birds with one stone— Patrick would be silenced, the truth about the accident remaining sealed and the family got back its scapegoat. 

Patrick was then thrown into the cat’s room, where he stayed for five years and the only reason he got out was because I’m assuming his friends ( hyuk?? Deva?? Wanna help him here?? ) found him and smuggled him out of the room even if it initially it was against his will….

So in the present time, Patrick is…well he’s trying to adjust to living a normal life again after five year living in isolation + enduring emotional abuse ( aka the head of the clan would visit and call him a monster, you know…the kind of stuff akito would say 🙃) and that’s been a struggle since the curse technically isn’t broken. He’s paranoid about leaving the house ( or if Alex is okay with this!! perhaps Patrick would live with hyuk here?? ) because who knows if his family will find him again and he KNOWS that if he’s taken back to the cat’s room he won’t survive. That and he’s an online tutor in korean, english language, and literature.

this is all to say tho!! if we were to do a group verse for a furuba au, this can definitely change- i might actually just make this an independent verse/a subverse for verse one but we shall see 🥲🥲🥲

What would your muse sacrifice to remove a memory that plagues them? If they'd opt to keep the memory, why? What's the memory that came to mind when asked?

for the most part i'd say no as a number of my muses here have been shaped by the memories that plague them most and while the memories do hurt a number of them have come to process the memories to glean lessons and core beliefs from them. it's not an idea situation, but...well it is what it is.

that being said though! i'll go through my main muses:

mana: it would be the time she was forced to spend with mr dinh, but i don't think she would ask for the memory to be removed simply bc?? there's no point in having it erased at this point? it's not like it's going to change the effects it's had on her up to this point....better to be able to name it and know it by heart at least....

raphael: the mourning period after his dad's death; like mana, he wouldn't, but that's because it would be denying the fact that his dad is gone and that's not a healthy way of coping....that and it would be erasing a memory of his father and those, are going to be limited now.

lamon: see, he would be tempted to erase the aftermath of the car crash as the guilt that came afterwards was crippling and ultimately wasn't productive for him as he was forced to put his life on hold for like a year or two. still he wouldn't erase it, however, as he isn't sure if anything else would have helped him become more compassionate person with firmer boundaries.

yoojin: wouldn't need to make this wish since he forgets a lot of memories to begin with....he'd probably pick the times when the immortality weighs the heaviest for him, but again, time erodes at the impact of all memories so really, a wish wasted :)

patrick/myungdae: absolutely not. felicity is his beloved and even if her goodbye/death was painful, he would not give that up for the world...it's a memory of her and if there is one thing patrick does, it's that he hoards on memories, both good and bad, even if it is to his detrimental :'D

the exception here though, is annie because her memory of the h*stage incident really really really didn't have any meaning to it as the point was to inflict pain on the victims just because they could, there's nothing in her eyes ( and in mine too ) of value to learn from it...so she would ask for that period of time in her memory to be erased.

okay first of all THANKS for this- i'm gonna answer them from fastest to slowest!!

1. lee ga-ram

mostly because he doesn't have a lot if any friends especially outside of work. since a lot of his work for yo-han does involve spying on other parties, for the devil judge, long distance communication is a necessity...most of the texting they do is work related and so you are almost guaranteed to get an answer at least in within a hour or two.

2. lamon chuphong

tends to feel bad if he leaves a text ( or email for that matter ) unanswered for more than a day. he hates seeing unread notifications at the top of his inbox. however what puts lam in second is the fact that there are on occasion 1 to 3 days straight where he straight up isolates and doesn't answer anything. he used to feel guilty about that but these days?? is starting to care less 🥲

3. patrick myungdae grace

unless you're lee hyuk or one of his kids, patrick makes a point to avoid answering text messages and emails outside of working hours. after all, he's already using a good chunk of his hours outside of work to grade papers!! if he wants to keep up with that, no distractors are allowed!! D-: aside from that he does answer relatively quick...just make sure you contact him during working hours. also if you leave a voice mail, he has a function that cuts off specific numbers at 3 minutes...it's useful for locaqious co-workers like ratliff JFKLSDJFLDSJF 😂

4. raphael wei

more or less gets to text messages in a timely manner but he's not going to let that get in the way of well, life outside of the phone ( unless it's mobile games while watching food network 🥲 ), typically he'll answer text messages when he's off duty so most of the time the messages will be coming in at night. hope you're not an early bird in these cases...

5. mana huynh

there's an out-of-office email message i saw once that mana goes by ( for people she finds annoying ): "it is normal for me to take 2 days to read my emails and 2 more days to reflect on the matter and respond calmly without making a note on your stupidity. the culture of immediacy and the constant fragmentation of time are not compatible with the kind of life i lead."

JKLSDJFLSDJ well, if you're calum or a friend though, she does grant you leeway- basically if she likes you she'll make herself easy to access. if she doesn't, good luck getting her attention.

6. shin myungdae

if it's not related to the black knight, it'll take him at least a week to remember to get back to you, if he even does respond... thank his shitty short-term memory for that 🥲 his students learn very quickly it's easier to just ask him the questions while they're in class aka when he's around.

7. ahn yoojin

as free as the wind, this one is :D i actually hc that he doesn't actually?? have a phone aka he only got on recently and even then, he leaves it at home a lot of time...it's too heavy to carry in yoojin's opinion and not to mention if he wants to find someone, it's easier for him to just go seek them out himself. that being said, he does have a good instinct so if someone wants to see him, don't worry. you’ll find him.

9. ahn yoojin

the way i write him, i think of him as someone who has gone to therapy and has done the work. yeah he still have some struggles and there will be more, but ultimately he has the tools to cope, he'll be fine. probably wouldn't go to therapy now anyways only because he prefers to be on the move.

8. lamon chuphong

surprisingly ranked low on this list, but he's one of the three muses in my roster who has seen a therapist, is the only one currently seeing one and therefore is currently working thru his problems. if this had been before his main verse, he's probably be much higher up in this list, dealing with body dysphoia and also just a ton of repression but he already hit rock bottom and is finally letting all that anger and frustration out now. it's really a matter of just flushing out all the bad things that have accumulated over the years at this point and figuring out where to go from there :'D

7. patrick myungdae grace

you know seeing a therapist probably would do him some good especially in the aftermath of felicity's second passing and of knowing the truth about his bio family. that's a lot of take in all at once...but if we're talking about now, i think he has more or less come to terms with felicity's passing- after all, he's had about ten years to really think about it and process his grief...he really just needs that final push to cross the boundary aka her second passing to accept that she's gone and he can move forward.

6. suki nakamura

the other half of my muses who has seen a therapist. she initially went to get her pyrophobia treated....and it has worked somewhat. her therapist also tried to help her find other coping mechanisms aside from folding paper to deal with the excess energy she has...did that work? no :'D i do think though that once the truth behind her parents' death comes out, she will return to therapy as there isn't really anyone else she can rely on 😭

5. mana huynh

considering her past, yeah talking it out with a therapist might be helpful, but also a lot of the growth, unlearning, and softening mana has done, it's been on her own...sure, therapy might be good for other people, but it might not be as effective for her. she's not very comfortable with speaking about herself with most people, so it would take her a long time to feel comfortable with speaking about that with her therapist....and therapy costs money :/ that and she's had bad experiences with therapists in the past so that already puts a sour taste in her mouth.

4. raphael wei

would probably benefit from grief counseling and then general counseling when it comes to unpacking the expectations and pressure he's carried for years on end. i don't think he even realizes he's been carrying that and it's like?? not normal and no person should realistically feel like they have to live up to a dead parent's legacy?? the therapy might also be good for him to help figure out why he wants to cook in the first place.

3. k ( lee ga ram )

years of repression and a desire for revenge on becoming orphaned and not mention devoting almost two decades to following and helping another person has left them with very little of a sense of self, especially in the aftermath when they wake up from their fall since the one person who had been there all that time is gone, the system they've fought so hard against is back in place, and now they have to pick up the pieces and figure out what they're going to do for the rest of their life. a therapist, aka an unbiased voice would probably be very useful here, just saying.

2. calum hyun-ki reynolds

the final of the three muses who has been to therapy. he went for a period of time after daniel's passing before taking flight permanently as his life got busier and he had all the tools. HOWEVER, nowadays, considering he's mourning the loss of his wife, while balancing taking care of his kid ( who is also equally traumatized and scared af of losing dad as well ), and also is dealing with suicidal ideation. he thinks he has it all under control but with how overly self-sacrificial and isolated he's become, it might be time for him to go back.

1. shin myungdae

i don't even know where to begin with this, but literally myungdae please go to therapy. literally he's living as he was in the past five years. transitioning to a civilian life is NOT going well, why else would he pick up the vigilante lifestyle...yes, there's a reason behind it, but also it's chaotic and requires one to be on their feet at all times...basically he doesn't know how to be at peace and literally again, needs a therapist the most, but he refuses to go, not until the whole ordeal is done...and even then, he's not sure if he'll make it out to the end...

He leans heavily on his cane as his side aches. He doesn't want to look there because there's a good chance blood might have seeped through his shirt- which is a shame because he really liked this shirt too. If there is one thing that no one ever mentioned about being a VIGILANTE, it's the number of shirts ( and trousers for that matter ) that get ruined. The prices start stacking up after a while.

But he gives Miss Logan a smile; well, it probably looks more like a grimace at this point, but she gets it doesn't she? It's become as Hiro has phrased it, a running joke between them: reading between the lines. Give a truth hidden behind a smile and a casual lie. Maybe she'll let him get away with this one as well? They both know at this point, he's bullshitting it, almost every single time. And yet she still trusts him. A woman who has to know by now he's definitely not making soup or even helping his son with his science project, never chiding him for such and continues to allow him to get away with such excuses.

It's admirable, really, being able to TRUST someone that openly.

"Thank you, Miss Logan, but I don't think that will be necessar-" He winces, another sharp pain coursing through. And then he glances behind him, warily. ANACHRON maybe not be outside the building, but Myungdae considers this person to be just as bad:

Not that HYUK is bad, necessarily, but that the fact he's around and there's no sign of him leaving the perimeter of the building any time soon is already a code red. And even if he threw a smoke bomb, there's no way he'll be able to disappear without a trace. Why'd ANACHRON have to run their dealings in this area of all places? Myungdae sighs.

"...If that would not be too much a hassle, actually. Perhaps we could go somewhere more secluded?" Myungdae says finally, shoulders dropping in defeat for once. "You...you wouldn't have to give me anything either. I just need somewhere to rest." To hide.

HOW I RUN MY BLOG.

SPEED: slow! slow af literally please expect to be waiting at least a month for replies if not even longer....i also almost exclusively use the queue to stagger my replies/inbox memes/everything i'm ever tagged in. it really helps with keeping me from spending too much time on this hellsite :'D LOL not anymore 😂😂😂 i try to do some replies every few days, i usually like to post 1-3 things at once before taking a few days off. i also can be VERY SLOW when it comes to answering dms and discord messages; however, i have been trying to be quicker on that end....pls have patience with me overall i promise i will get back to you sooner or later!!

REPLIES: again, very slow but i rarely drop things. long time followers know that sooner or later i get back to them...and if i don't they know since i would have otherwise posted their reply in the queue ;'D

STARTERS: pls feel free to write me all of them- again it might take me some time to get to all of them, but i promise, i haven't forgotten about ANY of them :'D i will note though that I don’t answer replies chronologically but rather i will pick one character and then do ALL of their threads there at once :'D

SELECTIVITY: very selective. i'm not gonna lie, i am very selective with who i follow as writing these days, while i adore doing it, it also takes up a lot of my energy. i don’t want to waste my energy on dynamics and threads i know i’m not going to be excited about. if i follow you, it means i've looked over your blog, your content, your muses, and everything and i've decided that we have a chance at getting along :D but then again following ppl...it's a bet.

will note though as well- your attitude on dash makes or breaks whether i want to follow you. if you treat your followers with respect and genuine interest and care, i am more than happy to wait for you. however it's clear you look at your partners as a means for an end like entertainment purposes....i will soft block.

shipping wise, i don't halfass my shipping; basically i like romantic shipping as much as the next person BUT...i won't sacrifice my character's development and arc for a ship. ever. basically i only do romantic ships if there is serious ic AND ooc chemistry.

WISHLIST: honestly...i'm pretty content, but i would love for all of my muses to have more plotted relationships, platonic or romantic 🥺 well, patrick/myungdae and mana, romantically wise, i'm very content with, but my other muses!! maybe i just want more interactions with plotting backing up in general.

Plans are bound to go awry. It’s the one thing he’s found consistently in the five years he’s been in this line of work: have a plan going in and have two more in advance to accommodate for any WRENCHES thrown in. 

However, this might just be the biggest wrench of them all. And from the moment it ( he ) reveals itself, Myungdae knows two alternatives aren’t going to be enough. The wrench is not going to fix itself either. Patrick Grace, by all intentions, is dead;  Disappeared five years ago without a trace, never to be seen again. He’s been replaced by the Black Knight and Shin Myungdae. All in all, Patrick Grace was buried a long time ago. 

But what happens if there’s someone who can see through both facades?

The office his dear friend has taken up is rundown. Dilapidated. There’s only one security camera for the entrance too, which has Patrick concerned- has Hyuk developed any sense of self-preservation in these five years? Because clearly, combined with the fact he’s been tailing the Black Knight and clawing his way in to the outer rim of ANACHRON’s attention, he hasn’t. At all. 

But it does make slipping into his office easy. Patrick’s not about to let five years’ worth of SECRECY go down the drain; he’s given up five years to make sure his loved ones don’t suffer an ending similar to Felicity’s. The last thing he needs is Hyuk, who is very much included in this category, butting his way into this and ruining that.

So when his dear friend finally enters the back room of his office and shuts the door behind him, Patrick makes his presence known. Darting out of the shadows, Patrick grabs his dear friend by the front of his shirt and slam him against the wall- hard enough to make a sound, but not enough to hurt him. It’s the first time Patrick has seen Hyuk up close in years. He looks tired. Haggard, like he hasn’t had a good night’s sleep in well, years. Patrick lets out a sharp sigh. Dammit. He forces himself to look at the wall behind Hyuk- he can’t bring himself to look him in the eye. Otherwise, he might just lose his RESOLVE.

“Hand over your findings.” He says, voice icy. His voice modulator hides his voice with the voice of the Black Knight. The hand around Hyuk’s shirt tightens as does the hand around his sword. “Whatever business you think you have, you don’t. Stay out of it- this is for YOUR OWN GOOD.”

verse: a knight is never without their sword ( 2/??? )

where main verse and vigilante verse diverge: it’s the night patrick gets his ass handed to him…whereas in his main verse, he’s put into a coma for a month straight, in his vigilante verse, he actually sees the first blow coming at him and ducks. He manages to get away from the people Supplante hired to silence him, which only strengthens his resolve to get to the bottom of the fire.

unfortunately this turns into five years’ ( and counting ) worth of watching his back. first it’s supplante’s men and then they’re replaced by ANACHRON agents. the first two years after he cuts off all contact is literally patrick on the run, keeping a low profile while trying to gather more information on ANACHRON independently. he loses track of the number of killing/kidnapping attempts on his life in those two years. 

one of them is a leg injury serious enough that he needed crutches to walk around- he wasn’t able to get to hospital though ( out of fear of drawing attention to himself ), so while it’s healed up and he can still use it for the most part, it does occasionally freeze up/ache, so patrick has the cane for that ( also it’s the best place to hide a sword ). he also has a few scars from the closer attempts.

when myungsuk’s network finds him, life gets, thankfully, a lot easier. they also help fake his death so he doesn’t have to worry about leaving a paper trail. patrick still has to be careful though- he still sleeps lightly and with his cane ( sword ) close by. they also give him the fake identity shin myungdae. he can’t get his pHDs from his old life back, but they are able to get him a masters’ degree in sociology so he can teach.

he gets more training in fighting and in swordplay from the network too, as it’s extensive and ( conveniently ) very wealthy. they find out he’s really good at subterfuge, blending into crowds/backgrounds. for next two years, he’s working with the network to find out more information about ANACHRON worldwide.

by the end of fourth year, that’s when he meets elise and then hiro soon after. he can’t help but endear himself to the both of them. for once, he pictures a life that doesn’t revolve around ANACHRON.

elise and hiro are literally the only bright spots in that time period. it forces him to look after himself because they need him alive more than dead.

and then they find out ANACHRON’s main bases are in london and seoul- patrick realizes he can’t drop out yet- if they’re that close, then he needs to be there for the end. they ask him where does he want to go- london or seoul. he picks seoul because most of his loved ones in london. the more distance from them, the safe they’ll be. also he’s assuming they’ve moved on him from, no need to bring back the ghosts. also he can blend in easier in seoul.

originally he was on surveillance duty- just keep an eye on ANACHRON’s activity. the vigilante part started because he noticed how much havoc they’re actually causing and frankly, he’s tired of being cautious. he’s had enough and decides to take a more aggressive approach to a. getting the information and b. planning a counterattack.

personality wise, he’s still level-headed and very considerate, but also he is a tad more direct. multiple attempts on your life often makes one less tolerant of bullsh*t

but also he’s grimmer and warier- constantly looking behind his back.

for the most part, he’s the black knight to protect his loved ones and stop ANACHRON from ruining any other lives, but it’s also low key: you’ve been trying to kill me for the last five years and i wasn’t planning on retaliating but i’m so fucking tired of having to watch my back 24/7, i just want to sleep in peace for ONE NIGHT. i don’t even need to be compensated, but if this is going to get you leave me alone, fine, so be it.
