Hmmm.. well this is kind of tough, I seldom say nice things to myself. haha! magdalaena , I guess I'll just go through my baol to gather nice things. Meh.

1. I have an undying love for pasta and noodles. 

2. I love music and respect these artists pouring their hearts out to create their own version of art.

3. I am morning person most of the time.

4. I told you I always run out of nice things to say to myself. haha!

5. I am glad I have learned to love myself more nowadays.

Dear mystrangesilhouettes,

The first time I saw you I thought you were pretty. When I read your writing for the first time you got even prettier…but then I realized something. This girl is shallow, and not in vanity but in vacancy. You just seemed so fragile and I think some part of you is still so delicately kept behind glass. But there are parts of you that refuse to bend. There’s something whispering in your soul “I will not break.” There’s something about the way you carefully pen the things you say leaving me famished. Replete on every syllable, constant, and vowel. Yet I want more. Almost like I’m waiting for you to crawl inside of me and stab the reset button in the whirlpool of my wrist.

I feel you there. Teaming and growing in me like wildfire. Spreading your blaze in my quivering aftermath. Loving you is like loving an algorithm buried in the ruins of ancient Egypt. You are a puzzling sequence but it’s almost like I need to feed off of you some nights when things are cold and I cannot cry. I see you holding the lantern guiding my fight in the belly of your weathered hands. I’ve always thought that when a writer loves another writer those are the things that make the world implode and explode exponentially. Connections like that are sacred bonds, not to be taken lightly.  Some people like to call that fate. And it was fate that pulled me here and shifted me towards you. Even though every decision made along the way was ultimately my own.  

Can you believe that love like this isn’t just for silver movie screens or PG-13 ratings? Can you believe that there are still moments so surreal that you can’t help but want to touch them? But you can’t hold a moment in the moment, I’ve heard. You have to wait until it becomes a memory and wanders back into some corner in your brain, pre-reserved for it like a library’s hold shelf. Can you believe that sometimes we give people moments they don’t want to forget? So they cling violently to them…but in an act like that they ironically scrap them away. So sometimes I want you to hold me. But remember to always let me go, even if it is only in slow intervals at first. Because I too want to be able to keep the gift you gave to me and share it with others. You’ve taught me so much about the sincerity of love. That’s something I don’t intend to keep to myself. I want to spread it like an auto-immune disease to all the people in need.

So I can only hope you know that I love you in return. Yours Truly, Courtney
