Their unshakeable, unwavering affection for one another? There was not a single doubt in their minds about their love. They would eventually find their way back to each other, no matter their circumstances or difficulties, since that is what they pledged when they were young. 

Do you say their love isn't pure and's not something to cherish? Saeyoung's passion for Saeran is evident throughout the story; no matter whatever route we take, even in the seasonal chatrooms, his thinking, thoughts, promise, words, and longing are all about Saeran. He has dedicated himself to Saeran's protection and will go to any length to keep Saeran safe, even if it means sacrificing his happiness or putting himself in danger. He mastered complex things about a computer, so Saeran wouldn't; He gave up everything so that Saeran could be happy. He provided everything he had so that Saeran might have everything he desired. You know how much he despises his job, but if it means Saeran is happy, then so be it. There is so much to discuss and list, but it would take 37364748 slides in PowerPoint ok.

Like, seriously, he's so devoted yet so loving.

His love for Saeran is literally the theme of Mystic Messenger. Every route, every time. It was Saeran's presence that he yearned for.

As for Saeran, man, do we have to explain this??? He CLEARLY, DEFINITELY, CERTAINLY adores Saeyoung with all his heart.

I don't know why this fandom depicted Saeran as irritated as he can be when his Saeyoung is present??? Like, please understand that this is merely a stage in his recovery journey, not a personality attribute. He pushes Saeyoung away out of fear that he will be hurt again and as a self-defence mechanism, but he doesn’t hate Saeyoung. He just needs time to be "himself" again. He adores Saeyoung as much as Saeyoung adores him. Saeran's feelings for Saeyoung are strongly ingrained; even after days of brainwashing, he couldn't truly hate Saeyoung. He longs for a connection with him. He waited YEARS for Saeyoung. Let's be honest:

He missed Saeyoung.

He wants to be like Saeyoung.

He adored Saeyoung's unwavering love and his optimistic side.

He waited years for Saeyoung without losing hope.

He doesn't want happiness if that means Saeyoung wouldn't be there with him.

He would feel secure, safe and loved if Saeyoung was there with him.

He chooses Saeyoung over happiness.

He lives with his weak body at Mint Eyes because he is determined to return to Saeyoung; he wants explanation and reassurance.

He mentioned the betrayal every time he met Saeyoung because it was painful, like his half was ripped apart. 

He wants nothing more than not to burden Saeyoung with his problem.

He wants to die with him (Yoosung's route)

He feels terrible for hurting Saeyoung with his words.

He loves ice cream because of Saeyoung.

He loves the first sky he saw with Saeyoung.

He wants to give Saeyoung a geranium (a flower with the meaning, "I'm happy because of you.")

He smiled at the photo Rika took for him because he thought Saeyoung would like it.

He wants a camera to take a picture of Saeyoung and keep it so he can see it when Saeyoung is far away.

He learned computer stuff because he wanted to be closer to him.

He feels safe and sound with Saeyoung beside him. (His confession in 707 BRE2)

He loves fireworks and doesn't want Saeyoung to die before him, or he would be so sad.

He's willing to forgive Saeyoung.

He wants to live together with Saeyoung, just two of them. Like what they promised

He doesn't hate Saeyoung. HE IS NOT. He loves him so much that he's willing to give Saeyoung another chance, even though he's scared of being hurt. Even though he waited for years. There's no one, ever, who saved him the way Saeyoung did. He's his savior.

Man, I wish them a happy life together, just two of them, somewhere far, away from troubles. Live the life you love, my sons. I love you two so much.

just had a random thought, imagining MC having a really weak immune system like saeran and saeyoung getting really overprotective when it comes to anyone being sick. like we've all seen him taking care of them when they get sick but before that... anyone who doesn't live in the house isn't allowed in if they even have a cold. imagining someone sneezing while visiting and saeyoung brandishing an industial sized can of disinfectant. the slightest cough from saeran or MC sends him into Mother Hen Mode (saeran and MC have to try to get him to calm down. like saeyoung, honey, my dude, a cough isn't going to kill us. we're okay. take a deep breath)

Heaven forbid these two get caught up in fears about someone’s illness. It just won't stop once it gets started. This is one of those things that's going to keep going and keep going.

Saeran has a weak immune system. It’s getting better the more he works outside in the sun and gets taken care of by his doctor... but there’s only so much you can do to help your immune system. He’s naturally at a disposition compared to other people because of his stunted growth as a child.

So, even he’s got to be careful when the seasons change. He has to watch his limits all those days when the flu is going around. He does worry about getting others sick or getting sick himself when things go around the house.

But, he’s more than prepared these days. He’s got everything you could need to take care of someone on a bad day. There's a cabinet stocked full of anything that you could think of that someone might need when they're sick. There's a system for this. Even if everyone in the house gets sick, there's a list of things to do and check out for the person who can handle getting around the easiest.

If not them, then one of your friends who has time to drop by and lend a helping hand.

The pantry also has a few things that could take care of somebody in need when needed. It might seem like he's prepared for the end of the world, but it's better to be safe than sorry in the event somebody gets hurt and there's no way to get them where they need to be. He is all hands on deck. He needs to be. These things help him cope with his paranoia and as long as he has control over that, he's able to do what he needs to do.

Saeyoung is in better condition because he was able to get his shots and start on a regimen with the agency a la Vanderwood. But, he has times just like his brother even if he’s mindful. He’s far more paranoid about someone in a feverish state than Saeran. He used to spend his childhood holding back tears as long as possible to seem strong and tough in front of his brother.

There are things he did that he won't even tell people about. A lot of it was traumatizing but he won't even acknowledge that it was. He had to save change from his mother’s errands to get medication for his brother when it was possible, for example.

It was always hit or miss, too. He would have to try to learn how to read on his own to be able to make sure that he was getting the right medicine. There were times when he didn't. It wasn't like he could ask anybody to help him out since it would be very confusing why a child would be asking that.

It wasn’t always possible to be safe.

So, yeah, you're right. There are a lot of things to think about when it comes to somebody being sick in this household around the twins. They know how to handle it but at the same time, it always feels like a reminder of the past that they cannot run away from. Being sick... the chance of having a fever that might kill you... how can they not think of those days whenever your skin is flush and your body weak from utter exhaustion?

Saeyoung is worst about trying to be a mother hen to his brother and MC. It's a force of habit. Doesn't matter if you're his MC, or Saeran's. He will be concerned about your well-being no matter what because you're his family, one way or the other. It might not come with weight on the chest like it does for the twins... but you can feel the tension in the room, even if you're feverish.

An unspoken fear of: "I hope they don't die," & "I won't let them die."

When Saeran is sick, Saeyoung knows what to do... but if he gets sick and Saeran has to take care of him? Yikes. That's an area of trauma that nobody should unpack. The guilt Saeyoung feels for not being the one to take care of everyone is strong... even if he's the one who needs help. But, Saeyoung needs to learn that Saeran can help him and so can anyone else. Saeran isn't helpless!

And, it's okay if Saeyoung needs help.

Basically, getting sick around Saeyoung and Saeran can come with a mess of problems and unpacked trauma.

Prompt: “You shouldn’t have come here.” Fandom: Mystic Messenger

A quick little ficlet with the aim of being part of a Vanderwood route (because that man deserves happiness).

"You shouldn't have come here."

MC looked puzzled when she heard those words, finally realizing who'd said them.  It was Vanderwood, one of the men she'd been talking to over the messenger for the last two weeks.  MC had no idea where she was, she just knew she felt safe, after she'd fled the apartment.  The strange man who'd tried to attack her hadn't made it as far as she had.  And somehow, she'd ended up at this place.  There seemed to be some sort of security measure, but none of it had activated.  She'd been let right through.

Her eyes slowly scanned her surroundings, and after several moments, she recognized it.  Parts of it had been in the backgrounds of 707's silly selfies, particular the huge computer layout.  There were at least three monitors, all hooked together and showing something different.

Though there seemed to be no sign of 707 himself.

"I... wh-where's..." MC couldn't get the words out.  The man rolled his eyes and stepped up to her, closing the final door she'd come through.  "You're... Vanderwood, right?"

"As far as you know." He made sure every single lock was in place before he turned back.  "707 went out looking for you when he realized what went on.  He's probably turning that apartment building upside-down."

MC nodded.  "I'm sorry.  I haven't been able to check th-the messenger since I ran..."

Without a word, Vanderwood produced a piece of paper out of his coat.  It was a long string of letters an numbers.  When MC didn't seem to get it, he finally said, "Wi-fi password."

MC gazed down at it again.  707 acted strange, but it somehow didn't surprise her that she had a difficult wi-fi password.  "I'll um... I'll log-in and let everyone know I'm okay.  Hopefully he'll see it."

"Already let him know.  He said since I'm here you'll be fine.  He has something to do." Vanderwood looked annoyed as he sat back down in a large computer chair.  "Get comfy.  You might've gotten in, but you're not getting out."

With a nervous giggle, MC nodded.  "I-I wouldn't even if I could." And then her stomach growled.  "...sorry, I was going to have dinner when that man showed up."

Without any more prompting, Vanderwood stood.  "What do you want?"

"You really don't have to-" MC stopped when Vanderwood gave her a look.  "Spicy curry?"

"Coming up."

I took “spider” and “trick or treating” out of these two requests and combined into one scenario.  I’m sorry if it isn’t exactly what you wanted, I just thought it would be easier like this. Hope you like this^^

HALLOWEEN SPECIAL

RFA + Saeran dealing with a spider on Trick or Treat

Zen

 His costume was making him completely unrecognizable, so you guys were able to wander around a lot of streets

He’s not much into candy. So all he got, he got it for you.

You guys stopped walking so he would pour the candy from his bag on yours

That’s when you saw it, a dark spider crawling over the candy

You jumped and dropped your bag on the floor, hugging him and screaming

He gladly took the hug, but what’s with the scream? “AHHHHH ZEN! GET RID OF IT! AHHHHH!”

Oh… it’s a spider… he chuckled and unwrapped one of the candy, using it to grab the spider and throw it on a bush. “There’s no need to get scared, babe… it’ just a tiny harmless spider, don’t worry.”

You guys picked the candy on the floor, you were trying to ignore him teasing you for being so cute when you’re scared.But as soon as you guys got up, he saw it… a cat jumping out of the bush.

Zen clung onto you for dear life. “AHHHHH BABE! GET RID OF IT! AHHHH!”

 Yoosung

You guys were already home and he was taking his costume off while you were pouring the candy in a bowl

 He was going to the bathroom to fix his hair and meet you in the living room so you guys would eat some of what you collected

But then he heard your scream and ran to you, you just point to the counter with a horrified expression

Oh… it’s a big one… he just saw one of these in his books

Okay, he’s having a few chills, but it’s nothing compared to you, so he’ll fight the spider if he has o, anything for you.

Nah, he won’t really fight. “I’m pretty sure it’ one of those species without venom, MC.”

He grabs a glass and traps the animal, feeling so cool at your thankful look. You’re looking at him like a hero.

“I don’t care, they are creepy to look at, Yoosung.” “Ah, yes… they really are, but don’t worry, it’s harmless.”

 “Oh yeah? So how did it get out of the glass?” he freezes with widen eyes, then slowly turns his head to see it… nope, it’s still there, you were just messing with him.

You laugh and pull him for a hug. He’s relieved you’re smiling again and guides you to the living room… before giving a quick glance towards the spider to make sure it’s still there.

She saw when the spider crawled to your bag of candy

Internally panicking, she’s not really scared, but she thinks you will be terrified if you see it.

 “Hey, MC… your bag looks heavy, do you want me to hold it for you?” “Thanks, honey, I’m fine…”

 S H I T

“MC, please give me your bag…” “Wha…? Why? Hey… are you trying to steal my candy?” you ask her teasingly… jfc

“MC, this isn’t a joke, give me your bag!” she says seriously, and you freeze in surprise. Oh no… she didn’t mean to sound harsh…

“I’m… I’m sorry, I’m not…” HOLY FUCK, it’s climbing towards your hand!

Using her judo quick reflexes, she manages to shoo the spider away.

“Okay, maybe I was trying to steal your candy…” she giggles before coming closer, you blush and she ends up taking the bag from your hands.

She runs, but not that fast so you’ll manage to catch her, she just wanted to drag you away from where the spider fell.

 Jumin

You guys earned some candy at a fancy Halloween party

You were putting it on a bowl in the kitchen when you saw Elizabeth playing with something in the counter

“Hey, what you have there, young la… ? AHHHHHH!”

Jumin ran to the kitchen, only to face the two most precious creatures of his life with the tensest expression he’s ever seen.

“What is going on in here?” he asks, but not in a confusing tone.

He sounds… mad. No, he is mad as he is looking around to see who caused this distress over you and Elizabeth.

 “Oh, it’s just… there’s a spider in here… and Elizabeth was playing with it…”

He walks towards the counter with such a serious expression you almost fear for the spider’s life…

“Pack a few clothes, we’re going to a hotel. I’ll call someone to fumigate this house.” “Jesus, Jumin, it’s just a spider, calm down.”

 “So why were you so frightened?” he looks genuinely confused, and since you’re not able to answer, you just let it go. And that’s how the spider got to live another day.

 Saeyoung

You guys went to your place after trick or treating

He was seeing the profit of the night while you were showering

Then he saw it… and boy was relieved you weren’t there to see him yelping

Yep, this guys has faced the most dangerous criminals inside and outside Korea, no one of them was more intimidating then this eight legged fella here…

But he’s worried you’ll freak out even more than him, so he gathers all the courage he has and manages to grab the spider and throw it away through the window.

You get out of the shower and he walks towards you. “Don’t you think I deserve a kiss?”

“Why?” “Well, milady, I faced my fears tonight for you… I, Saeyoung Choi, saw a spider and handled it like the hero I am for you.”

“You… handled?” you ask. Oh… are you going to panic thinking the spider might come back? Quick! He needs to lie! “Y-yeah! I killed it, don’t worry, my princess!”

“Do you mean… you killed my dear Daisy?” Uh oh… he had no idea it was your pet… he widens his eyes and inhales sharply seeing your shocked expression. “MC, I…”

“Just kidding. Spiders freak me out. Thanks, honey.” You give him a quick peck, he doesn’t know if he’s melting more due to your kiss or due to your little prank.

 He was putting the candy you guys collected in a jar

He heard you screaming in the bathroom and bolted to there, worried you fell or something

 “MC, what’s wrong?” you were petrified, just pointing to the spider descending from the ceiling.

“Oh… yes, amazing, isn’t it?” he smiles. What the fuck?

“What? N-no, it’s not! It’s terrifying! This thing could bite me!” you step back, covering yourself with the towel as if the spider is some kind of pervert

“This one? Ah yes, Argiope bruennichii can bite, but their venom is harmless to humans.”  You look at him in puzzlement.

“I… got the chance to learn a lot about all kinds of animals in my trips around the world… do you know that spiders are essential to maintain control of the insects’ population, MC?”

“That’s really interesting, Jihyun…” you sigh

You really love when he show his passion over the most trivial things, you really do.

 However… you are naked in the bathroom staring at a goddamn spider. “Please… just take it somewhere else so I can finish my shower.” You were kinda feeling like a third wheel between him and the spider, anyway…

 Saeran

You were getting ready to eat the candy you collected it. What’s taking you so long in the kitchen?

Then he finds you trembling and staring at the spider. And now you’re like that for… 6  minutes?

He’s going from annoyed to actually terrified, what was he supposed to do?

“Hey… calm down… it’s just a spider… it’s… more afraid of you than you are of it…”

“I doubt it! Ahhh, Saeran, it’s moving! It’s moving again!” you cling on him.

Okay, that does it!

He takes off his shoe and SLAMS it against the wall. Then he looks at you, and you’re staring at him in shock.

“You… you’ve killed it?” “Yep!” “Why… why did you kill it? Ahhhh the poor thing, Saeran!”  WHAT???

“What the hell? Weren’t you terrified of it a minute ago? I  took care of it for you!” “There are other ways of taking care of it! You didn’t have to kill it!” you glare at him and takes all the candy with you.

You mad at him? Meh, he can fix this later. Right now he just wants his candy back.

I do love that emotional duress that they put into that one. I do love the jump and the reprise of Our Love is God. But, you’re just making me think of V Route Day 10 over and over and we all know how I feel about that. I’m crying about Ray all over again.
