“Thomas Shelby” You asked, incredulous about what your husband had just told you.

“Yeah, love. Thomas Shelby. Mad fucker, isn’t he?” Alfie confirms and you sigh. “You must know him from your days in that shithole, don’t you?”

“Yeah, you can say that.” You said, caressing your very pregnant belly.

Alfie knew very little about your life before you two met. All you told him was that you were from Birmingham and that your fiance had left you for another woman. He never knew that the man was Thomas Shelby and the woman was Grace Burgess.

You haven’t heard from him since you left the city. Actually, you thought you would never hear from him again. And now he was making business with your husband.

“Let me talk to him.” You ask and Alfie frowns.

“Why?”

“You know, they say what the devil can’t do, he’s going to send a woman to. If you want him to agree to your terms, send me.” Alfie opens his mouth to speak but you cut him off. “He won’t do anything with a pregnant woman.” You walk to him, taking his hand and putting it on your belly. “We’ll be safe.”

“I’ll think about it.” You simply nodded, knowing that you would end up getting what you wanted one way or another.

Thomas Shelby had left you for the blonde barmaid that left him to go to America, and here you were, happily married with a child on the way. You would give anything to see his face once he discovered you were his business partner’s wife.

Sky Fish

So. Haven't posted in a while. But I have knowledge I NEED to share with the world. I can't think of a funny way to portray it so... -serves it up on a platter-

The Sky Fish familiar that Marcille makes in episode 22 / chapter 48.

This is "real".

This is the cryptid or UMA (read: yu-ma or Unidentified Mysterial Animals) known in Japan as the Sky Fish, and in English as a flying rod or rod.

So like, this is actually a thing. Japanese TV loves UFOs and Cryptids (or maybe I'm biased because my Beetle is the one who's obsessed but.) the timing for This Specfic Cryptid's popularity and when Ryoko Kui was writing/starting out with this story, are around the same time. This specific UMA had such an impact on me when i first saw it in TV 10ish years ago, that I was so excited about its appearance, and then confused and amused in equal measure when my Capybara had no idea what I was talking about.

AND THE TV SHOW I WATCHED! the original episode clip is still on youtube, although lacking English subtitles (although you can translate the auto generated subtitles to English if you want to try).

Basically, Jose Escamilla of Roswell, New Mexico (and several other sources around middle and South America) caught this UMA/Cryptid on video in 90s? But the story and other people catching them on video and in pictures still pop up, but with improved phone cameras, the proof that it's likely just bugs flying at just the right frame rate to make a long cat style image is more prevalent lol.

But this was/is a super popular UMA in Japan. Like, there are gacha minis, and figures, cryptid books, and other anime featuring these lil guys.

JoJo's bizarre adventures Stone Ocean's Sky High stand, Skytails from Zelda, and a Kemono Friend are some examples.

I want a lil sky fish figurine now...

But yea...

Love the idea of Danny being a horror movie child.

Like he somehow ends up with a non-supernatural DC family, be it the Kent's or the Batfam, and kind of just....is vaguely unsettling at first.

He stares into dark corners laughs at jokes only he hears. Tells random people things no one else should know.

And, used to weird, his new family let's it slide. Then they start seeing things. His shadow is bigger than it should be. Multiple eyes appear in the dark, watching them. Whispers fill the halls at night.

It's driving some crazy as they can SWEAR that when Danny gets mad they hear the screams of the damned.

Meanwhile Danny is chilling with his bodygaurd Fright Knight and is happy to have visits from his former rogues who make sure to check in on him as he's going through a rough patch in his life and, as a young ghost, is very susceptible to drastic changes.

“It’s been an excellent one, until you arrived.” You say, folding the paper and putting it aside on the table. Then you brought the cup to your lips, taking a sip of your tea.

“You’re going around telling lies about me.”

“Nothing I told him were lies, Thomas, and you know it.” You say, unfazed by his distress.

“You’re going to regret doing it.” He threatens, but you don’t budge.

“What, you’re afraid of what I have to say?” You ask, leaning back against the chair. “You brought some strangers in our bed so now you lost your right to privacy. I’ll be spillin' all our secrets, bet you thought they'd probably die with me. Know you fuckin' love it on the low, but I’m tired of keeping your dirty under the rug.”

“You’re…

“You don’t have to say I’m crazy 'cause I know, nothing’s changed though.”

He clenches and unclenches his hands and you know he is descending what will be his next move. Killing you would be too risky, your father is a very well known businessman that has ties in the parliament. So Tommy does the only thing he can and storms out of the room, leaving you alone, a smile on your lips as you sip your coffee. You were finally free from his lies and all of his cheating.
