Ella had a feeling something was off, normally Ella listened to it, but Ella figured the French court was a more relaxed court or maybe some of the guards remembered her from a few years ago when she visited. When she got off the boat, her last patient was in Spain, she had changed into one of the two “nice” dresses she had owned- well given to her by generous patients. It was nothing fancy, it was nicely made and not exactly the rough material her work frocks were made from, but it was nothing compared to French fashion. She had a backpack and two bags with medicines and other personal items, where she hitched a ride to the castle. 

She had somehow managed to walk through the gates without anyone stopping her, no one asked for her papers, though some people stopped and stared at her. She was clean, well she didn’t have any dirty on her face and her hair was clean, and her hair pulled up into a tight bun on her head, her shoes not exactly thread bare. She walked through the corridors for a while, hoping to find someone to help her, but eventually she realized that people were staring for some reason and she was beyond lost in this palace. So she turned and asked for the way to the throne room or to Queen Mother’s room, since that was who summoned her. There was a look of incredulity, maybe because she dare talk to someone above her status, but a guard spoke up an said he would take her, though he looked like she had lost her mind. She wasn’t sure what that meant, but she thought it best to ignore it since she was getting her where she needed to be. She walked through the hallway with her bags, looking around hoping she would remember the way back, before she went into Queen Mother’s room. She entered bowing, the queen turned before frowning and the disdain on her face confused her and scared her a bit “What do you want Lola? I have an important guest coming soon.” Ella’s brow furrowed, Lola? Who was Lola? “Q-Queen Mother, I -I am not sure who this Lola is, my apologies. M-My name is E-Ella. You requested my s-services?” She then pulled out the papers and held them out for the Queen Mother, who stomped over taking the paper and asked how she got them, confused she said that she had received them from her, or she assumed was her, did she not need her assistance? 

The woman seemed both confused and mad, which did terrify her a bit, but she said nothing as the woman stared at her. Then the woman suddenly grabbed her arm and barked at her to keep up. Ella dropped her bags and followed, well more was dragged by the woman who gripped her arm through the castle, if she think she got looks before this was something completely different- the look of bewilderment would have amused her had she not been scared about what was going on. Suddenly they stopped at a ‘door and burst in, confused Ella looked around, it was a bedroom, a grand one. She looked around and noticed a girl that the woman called Lola, the woman Lola seemed bewildered and confused, demanding to know what the Queen Mother was doing in her room. The Queen Mother looked shocked and let go of her arm. Hesitantly Ella took a step forward to look  at Lola and her mouth opened in shock, she was looking at a mirror- no a prettier or at least more groomed version of her self, “What the bloody hell?!”

Elena couldn’t believe it, he was dead, they had killed him. This wasn’t the plan, Elena didn’t even want to think about torturing a person let alone killing someone, life was precious. They acted like that man was nothing, as if once the information was out he was worth nothing. She shook her head, arms crossed against his chest. “I can’t believe you killed him, he is still a person! He gave us what we wanted to know, he didn’t deserve to die! He wasn’t a threat to us or anyone else, he just happened to hear some things. No one needed to die here, and yet you killed him. What is wrong with you? He had people who cared about him and will miss him!”

Whenever she thought of Lola’s future with him she got a bad feeling, a feeling of pain in her future, but she couldn’t tell that to her. She knew there was nothing she could do though, so she sighed rubbing the palm of her hand against her cheek. She closed her eyes for a few moments before opening them to look at Lola. “Fine. Fine, but I want to ask you something. You do not have to answer me, just promise me you will think about what I say.” She said seriously, “I know you, I know you are stubborn and when people tell you that you can not do something you try to prove them wrong. This has served you well and are stronger for it, but this time with ...him. Tell me, are you sure you have mistaken love for something else? That it is not because others are telling you no? I know you think you love, and you might, but is your stubbornness possibly taking over or covering your instincts? And I do not mean this as a way to harm you or make it seem like you do not know yourself. I am saying this as a friend who does not want you to regret this, or have any more hardships, due to a man.” She said, it was her turn to plead, hoping something she said got through to her. “If what you truly want is to be with him, and it is what you chose, I will say nothing more. I will support you the best I can.”
