A couple of years ago I had this friend who was very interested in my distinct film choices, and she asked me to recommend stuff to her. I of course bombarded her with movies, and she would actually let me know when she was watching them and what she thought. She really liked what I had to offer, and was pleasantly surprised that Rick Moranis is a great actor. I sent her all of his films (because I have seen ALL of them), and she showed a real appreciation for him and didn’t think I was super crazy anymore. She actually started quoting stuff from the movies in normal conversation; “Leave your celery” from My Blue Heaven was a favorite go to. I wish I could have something like that again. It was nice having that validation of Rick Moranis and that I have a good taste in movies (they weren’t all Moranis centered).
