Jungkook's Proposal
Tumblr media
Lazy days with Jungkook were a rare luxury. His large reserves of energy meant he was always up to something even when he was on a break.
The balcony doors were open and a cool breeze drifted through the bedroom ruffling the sheet that covered you. It was already noon but you were still tucked happily under Jungkook's arm. Both scrolling mindlessly through your phones you brought it up, “You’re going to be 23 soon, I think we should have a party.”
He put his phone down and rolled into your side. “I was thinking about going to Jeju,” he said matter of factly.
“Oh, were you going to invite me?” you asked smiling.
“I was going to invite everyone, my family, the guys and yes,” he giggled, “I guess you can come too. Would that be okay?”
Running your fingers through his messy hair you pushed it back out of his face and nodded.
“You shouldn’t have to plan your own party Jungkook, we can do it together."
You had a week to figure things out, guests, accommodations, food. You really just wanted to give him the best birthday, he deserved it.
Jungkook however, wasn’t being very cooperative. Everytime you asked questions he shut you down, if you brought it up he brushed you off. He was downstairs at the gym when you came across his to do list.
Call and confirm guests✔
Book Flights✔
Book Hotel ✔
Schedule Dinner and party space✔
Reserve private beach✔
*do not forget to pick up the package*
Puzzled as to why these were already checked off as done you messaged Joon.
Tumblr media
Y/N: Hey Joon, I just wanted to invite you to Guk's party in Jeju. Are you down?
Joon: Yep, already confirmed with JK last week.
Y/N: What kind of cake do you think I should get?
Joon: I thought that the guys were taking care of the cake? Don’t worry about anything,  I think everything is already organized.
Y/N: Oh… okay,  thanks.
Flopping on the couch your mind wandered to a million different conclusions as to why he was cutting you out.
Jungkook’s key turned in the lock, the door squeaking open announcing his arrival. He was looking through his phone as he dropped his duffel bag on the floor.
"Hey Babe, Joon said you messaged him about the party?"
He walked over to where you were sitting and tapped your nose with his finger.
"I’ve already taken care of everything, all you have to do is pack."
Feeling disappointed your face fell into a frown.
"What's wrong?"
"Jungkook, I just wanted to take care of you for once, to be able to contribute something.”
He looked flustered, “I’m sorry baby, I just didn’t want to burden you with it.”
Upset you stood up, “I can’t believe you would think that throwing you a party would be a chore for me…I feel fucking  useless."
Your statement trailed off as you walked away to your bedroom.
Tumblr media
Y/N: I know I’m probably overthinking and being too sensitive but Tae...does he think I'm incompetent?
Tae: What’s wrong love?
Y/N: If Guk doesn’t think I’m capable of throwing him a party…this is so stupid… but he certainly can’t think I’d be a good wife. It’s been two years Tae, we’ve never even discussed marriage. Does he think of me that way at all?
Tae: Noooo Y/N, he loves you so much. You are totally over reacting. Please, don’t make this an issue, it’s his birthday.
______________
You didn’t know but in the other room Jungkook was busy texting Jin for advice.
Tumblr media
JK: I don’t know what to do, Y/N is mad at me for not letting her help with the party.
Jin: Coming to your smartest Hyung for love advice, good choice. Here's my wisdom, Just make up a job and ask her to do it.
JK: That’s Brilliant!!  Thank you.
He made a quick call, arranging that you would be the one picking up the last unchecked item on his to do list, the package.
He pulled the bedroom door open and lay down beside you, “I’m sorry, I’ve been keeping a secret from you.”
You set down your phone giving him your full attention.
“My brother is going to propose to his girlfriend, he swore me to secrecy, that’s why I’ve been planning everything, so she won’t find out.”
You felt your temper rise, “Are you fucking kidding me? You finally get your birthday off, you haven’t had a personal party for years and your brother's using it to propose to his girlfriend all while making you plan it for him?”
Jungkook laughed, “It sounds kind of shitty when you put it that way. It’s really not that big of a deal Y/N, I’m happy he wants to share it with everyone.”
How could you fault him for wanting to help his family? He was such a giving person and it was part of the reason you loved him so much.
“If you really want to help there’s one thing left that you can do."
_____________
It was all set, the flight was leaving at 3pm and you had been tasked with picking up the box and keeping it safe until the party. Arriving at the jeweller the older man greeted you kindly. "Would you like to see it?”
He opened the iconic tiffany blue box while you nodded. It was a beautiful square cut diamond on a vintage white gold band, it was breathtaking.
“The gentleman took a long time deciding on this particular ring, he said it had to be perfect. What do you think?"
Your heart was aching in your chest. Lately you found yourself daydreaming about marrying Jungkook, him placing a ring just like this on your finger.
"She’s a lucky girl, I’m sure she’s going to love it.”
It’s not that you weren’t happy about the engagement, you were just completely, full on green with envy, jealous. Not even together a year and Jung- Hyun is ready to propose.
You knew you were being an idiot. Jungkook loved you, you lived together, he always made sure your needs were met but here you were upset because she was getting a ring first.
Taking the box you snapped the  lid closed and put it into your purse for safe keeping.
Enough, you needed to stop thinking about yourself. It was Guk's birthday and it was time to think of him and what he wanted. But what do you get someone who has everything
Wandering around you came across a neon lit sex shop, perfect! Three days away, three new sets of sexy lingerie and a bag full of goodies.
Maybe you didn’t get to plan the main party but you could make sure it was an afterparty he wouldn't forget.
The flight was short and smooth,  you were amongst the last to arrive.
Making your way to the suite to change for dinner Jungkook flung himself down on the bed, “I’m calling dibs on the first shower!” you called out.
You got ready, putting on your new black lace thong set, loose black mini sundress over top and wrapped your hair into a messy bun.
Exiting the bathroom you found Jungkook in the same position on the bed snoring lightly.
Crawling on top of him, you pulled back his bucket hat to reveal his closed eyes and pressed a soft kiss to his lips. Instinctively he wrapped his arms around you and pulled you close for more.
“You need to get up babe.”
He hummed softly into your neck, “that’s the problem, I am up."
He moved your hand to his bulge. Placing his hand on your ass he could feel the lace under your dress. He let out a needy moan as he squeezed your cheek.
“Jungkook we need to go, everyone’s waiting.”
He pouted, “But it’s my Birthday.”
Getting off of him and laughing you couldn’t help but throw it in his face.
“Yes, and if I had planned this party I would have pushed dinner back so the birthday boy could have gotten his dick sucked beforehand. You really only have yourself to blame."
He knew he was defeated, rolling off the bed he sulked his way to the shower.
Coming out about 20 minutes later his skin was glowing, he looked stunning in his tan hanbok pants and white dress shirt, his hair was long and fluffy.
“You look amazing Guk.”
Walking over you hugged him, sneaking a kiss onto the side of his neck.
“You had your chance Y/N, now we both have to suffer all night"
Walking hand in hand to the open air dining room most of your friends and family were already waiting at beautiful white rose adorned tables.
"Jungkook, did you arrange all these details?”
Smiling he nodded, “Did I do good?”
That dull ache hit your chest again, yes he did good, he’d planned the perfect proposal… for someone else.
You kissed his cheek and lay your head on his shoulder, “I think you’ve created every girls fantasy”
Trying to hide your melancholy throughout dinner you stayed pretty quiet only offering small smiles instead of conversation. You didn’t want to be selfish but you knew in a few hours all talk would be about weddings.
The thoughtless question on everyone’s lips would inevitably turn to, “when are you going to take the plunge?”
It usually happened at family gatherings, you’d watch them corner Jungkook and he’d awkwardly explain that one day when his career wasn’t so busy he'd be able to think more clearly about it.
You hated how calculated of a decision marrying you would have to be for him. Seeing how romantic he could be with the laid out gestures before you, you questioned why he could do it for someone else but not you? Maybe he didn’t think you were the one?
Like he could hear your inner thoughts he put his hand on your thigh under the table. “What’s going on, is everything ok?”
“Just thinking about getting you back to the room later, that’s all.”
You lied.
He kissed your cheek but you knew he didn’t believe you. Seeming a little out of sorts himself, maybe this whole situation had him questioning your future as well.
“I think maybe we need a minute to talk, let’s go while everyone’s finishing.”
He took your hand and led you away from the group towards a private area of the beach.
Sitting in the sand he motioned for you to join him.
You sat with your back against his chest, head on his shoulder, his arms around you.
The sun was beginning to set into a light shade of purple and orange. “I want to know why you’re sad.”
He asked like he knew the answer but needed confirmation.
“I just wish that this party was about you, for your birthday, that it wasn’t about engagements…”
You were trying hard not to sound jealous but he could see through you.
“How about you tell me the truth?”
Reaching into your purse you pulled out the box and handed it to him.
“This, this is what’s bothering me. Jungkook…do you think that you’ll ever want me to be your wife? Do we want the same things?”
His arms still around you he held the box in front of you and opened it slowly.
“It sure is a beautiful ring,” he said.
You closed your eyes, knowing it wasn’t for you. “It really is,” you answered softly.
“Do you really not know what I want Y/N?"
He kissed the top of your head.
"I love you more than anything in this world. The ONLY thing I wanted for my birthday was to bring you here, to sit on this beach with my arms around you….and to propose with this ring. So… you tell me, do we really want the same thing?”
Absolutely 100% shocked you turned to face him.
“Are you joking with me Jungkook?” you punched his shoulder.
He laughed, “I think I know better than that”
Still skeptical you asked, “So all of this was a lie? You really made me carry around my own engagement ring all day thinking it was for someone else?”
His grin gave away the fact that he was pretty pleased with himself.
“No, you haven’t said yes yet, so technically it’s still not yours. Do you want to marry me Y/N?”
You crashed your lips into his as he pulled you back on top of him.
“Yes!”
Walking back to the restaurant the tables had been moved and outdoor furniture and candles had taken their place. Everyone was chatting and drinking until they noticed your arrival, silence fell and eyebrows raised waiting for the news.
“Of course she said yes!”
At Jungkook’s declaration everyone cheered and the waiters came out with trays of champagne. The boys carried out a large white cake adorned with sparklers while singing Propose, tears of happiness gathered in everyone's eyes.
The rest of the night was perfect, you danced in the sand oblivious to the guests filtering out back to their rooms for the evening.
Looking around, you realized it was just the two of you left, lost in your own world.
“Maybe we should call it a night?”
“Maybe, but I don’t really want this moment to end” he responded with a kiss.
“Maybe… you forgot what I’m wearing under this, and that it’s also your birthday, and that I still haven’t given you your gift”
He grinned and pulled your hand leading you back to the room.
You left him waiting on the bed as you got ready. Finally revealing yourself, fully naked.
He whined, “Babe what happened to the lingerie, I mean you’re beautiful naked but… ”
You cut him off, “but I’m not naked, I’m wearing this beautiful ring...and...it also just so happens that I bought you a ring too."
You threw him the little black bag and he pulled out his gift blushing.
“Oh, mine's a little bigger...and silicone...and definitely not church appropriate.”
You cocked your brow and grinned, "It vibrates too!"
"Put it on me?"
You slid the cock ring down his shaft and sucked his tip.
"Do you take me to be your wife?"
"Fuck, yeah I do."

Hi. I love your page 🤍 Can you please tell me how does it work to get married in Korea? Thanks Sending lots of love to you, and be safe 🥰
Hii! Thank you!
In what way? Like how do you get married or how it's like being married to someone Korean? I assume it's the ..former(??) First one.
Getting married in Korea has it's difficulties and also parts that are much more simple than in America. I think this is gonna be long so bear with me.
(It is long..sorry!!)
Tumblr media
So let's start with a disclaimer. This is just from my experience and those around me, plus what you sometimes see on TV. The very basic generalized idea of how it works.
First, your date then you decide to get married. Like it's really like that, your date then at some point in whatever way you and your partner communicate you decide to get married, together as a couple; by this I mean no surprise proposals or whatever. Then you and your partner and both of your parents meet for the first time for a dinner where you tell them your plans, but this part is kinda fuzzy for me, what I've heard is that the old school traditional way is that you don't meet each other's Parents until this point but IDK how true that is now, I know I met T's parents (even his extended family) very fast even by American standards and T's friend who is engaged has met his GF's parents a few times here and there over the years but nothing official (as in going to family weddings together or spending holidays together something T and I did a lot) but anyway, and then as it happens in dramas some parents might be against it (but also Idk how true it is now if they have so much say in who you marry or not but given how much they have to do and pay for it, I feel like it's still true)
Tumblr media
Then..you propose. In Korea, people don't actually propose until you officially know you're getting married. T "proposed" to me a week before we registered our marriage, and another of his friends who is already legally married to his wife will propose to her soon. point is you won't get proposed to until you guys already agreed on getting married. When I explained that in America it's usually a surprise and that is when you say yes or no they were kinda shocked haha
After this comes marriage registration and ceremony. The order in which you do this is up to you really, some people do the ceremony first and some people do the ceremony 3 years later like us haha. For the registration process it's fairly simple you get the required documents I can't remember what they are but yeah, go to the ..ward office ?? ( that's what google translate told me) give the papers, sign them and bara bim bara boom(apparently its bada bing bada boom 🙃) you married !!
Tumblr media
Now the ceremony is the hard part. Multiple people have told me "Korean wedding ceremonies are a business" and boy they really are, it's a weird give and take of money between family members and most of it is for your parents and in-laws.
So first, The most important thing you have to do is set the venue, there are tons of wedding venues all over Seoul you just gotta choose one, set the date chose the available time (oh, here weddings are always around noon or early afternoon and last probably less than two hours cause you gotta be out before the next wedding) now if you have the venue you basically have everything else American/Colombian brides stress about: decorations for the ceremony?? You just deal with what the venue has that season (there are multiple halls per venue so the hall you choose does have a specific style though) bouquet?? You just chose from the options they give you. Entrance songs? Also, choose from the list. Dress? If you want the venue can also rent some pretty dresses for you. Studio? If you want you can also choose from a few studios the venue has partnerships with. Makeup & hair? If you want you can also do it at the venue. (All these "if you want" things have an extra cost though but not much more if you did it independently) reception?? Pshhh what's a reception?? In Korea you do the ceremony, take some pictures, people eat at the venue's buffet while you do some traditional ceremony with just the family elders, afterward you greet the guests and leave. So yes, in Korea if you have the venue you do take care of most of the things brides back home worry about a lot. T and I have been over this wedding since before we even did anything for it so we just fucken did everything with the venue haha
Once you get the venue then you pick put the dress and do the photoshoot and whatnot, but that is not the hard part. Now you go around the family elders (especially your father-in-law's family) and tell them the news, then traditionally the bride has to give each of her father-in-law's siblings 1million krw (little less than a 1000 dollars??) But worry not! On the day of the ceremony you get half of it back (don't ask me why not even T gets it) obviously my family being in Colombia where the Peso is like 4 times less than the Won can not afford that, so my FIL helped us out. Another part which is apparently traditional is that your in-laws buy you jewelry (in addition to the rings) I got two pairs of earrings and a necklace with two pendants and that's cause I was basically forced ( don't feel that comfortable getting expensive stuff) and then there's this other tradition where the bride's friends barricade the bride in her house and the groom's friends have to coax her to come out with gifts by the groom, we didn't do that -it's actually not that common anymore- but t did get me a bag, remember that one post about the man feeling like he has to buy expensive shit for his partner? Yeh, we actually went yesterday and when we came home as we were going to sleep he said that he felt very good that he finally got me something expensive.
After you go around the family elders asking them to come (i couldn't go cause I had the flu) you do the invitations. Now when booking the venue you give an estimate of around how many people but its usually always around 200, why? Cause guest lists don't exist!!! "Only family and friends/close ones" is not a thing that is used here. T has to invite his whole station, I have to invite everyone at my work, he has to invite everyone in his badminton club and his parents get to invite whoever the fuck they want because this is about them, not you. My MIL's badminton club is all going, people, my FIL works with we have never seen in our lives and random people my MIL knows from her bar, not to mention that you don't get to say "no plus ones" or "no children" just know random people are also gonna show up haha but that's not even the issue either, it's giving the invitations. That's a whole other protocol that fucks me up, it's not like in the u.s were you just casually give people the invitations like "hey, go to my wedding, k, byeee" nope, you gotta invite people to dinner or at the minimum buy them some coffee and shit..iiif your close, if not Idk man I have no one to invite that I'm not close too but T has to invite like captains and superiors and the poor man is stressing the fuck out. To the people you're not that close to (or have to suck up to...there's a lot of sucking up in Korea from what I've learned), a simple online invitation will be enough haha
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now after the invitations, there are a few other details you gotta arrange like who's going to Mc the ceremony (one of T's friends) the picture table (it's a table with pictures of you two but you gotta pay for those too) who's going to receive the money envelopes, it's usually: a person from the brides family gets the money from the bride's guests and a person from the grooms family gets it from his gets but since my guests are less than 20 and I have no family here, who cares. Then who's going to catch the bouquet, apparently here you just don't throw it at a group of women but you have to ask someone specifically, I asked my coworker. And who's going to sing the congratulatory songs (축하) one of T's friends will sing "아로하" by Jo Jung-suk and my coworkers will perform AOA's heart attack. Oh, the venue also has a photographer, and on the day before the ceremony the bride is always in a little room sitting on a small couch while guests take pictures with her and the groom is greeting guests haha oh oh! The moms wear hanboks throughout the ceremony and the aunts too.
Then you have to get the hanboks for the traditional ceremony. You can rent those but the lady convinced us to let her make ours from scratch although you can still give them back to them to rent them but the lady and my MIL convinced us to buy them. The traditional ceremony 폐백 pyebaek, Idk how it really is because I've never seen one but I've been told you are in traditional Korean clothes, do some things like serving tea, bounce some ..some ...nuts? Circle thingies on a cloth, feed the family elders, and do an on-the-floor bow for each and every one of them while they hand you money and give you marriage advice. Then you go out and greet the guests while they eat and you starve (that's what everyone says) and you leave for your honeymoon. We can't go on an actual honeymoon cause of my work and Corona but we'll spend the weekend somewhere nice.
And...
Tumblr media
that's all I think. I don't know if I'm missing anything its 3 am Haha
Anyway, i hope this was at least fin to read haha thank you!! You stay safe too!♡

Dilemma
Back in her room, Yeon told Marcella what her friend already knew to be true. Marcella shook her head and listened. Marcella’s hanbok had been delivered while Yeon was gone, and she held the dress in her lap running her fingers over the fabric.
“What if he’s not so bad?” It was just like Marcella to look on the bright side of things. She ran her hand over her box braids, fingering the bands on some of them.
“Please, don’t find a bright side in this. My dad is trying to arrange me into a marriage.” Yeon put her head down on her vanity, wondering where her life was going. She couldn’t be a complacent, quiet wife, by her husband's side, doing his bidding.
Holding up a hand Marcella stopped her from saying more. “He never said that, a possible marriage. Look at it this way. Dating was never really great for you in Atlanta.”
Yeon opened her mouth to say more, but Marcella stopped her. “It was not, so don’t try to make something up, I’m your best friend. You never dated long, you didn’t like the guys. Maybe, just maybe this isn’t so bad. What if you meet him, he’s attractive, he’s a pretty nice guy. You fall in love.”
Yeon had to admit what if Marcella was right. Her normal upbeat attitude about things did keep her sane. Yeon sighed, propping her head on her hand. “Why, do you have to be so positive and helpful? This isn’t a fairy tale, either. It could go exactly as I predict, and he could be a self-righteous asshole.”
“He could be, but we don’t know yet, so we have to see.” Marcella stood up, placing her dress on the bed. “If it doesn’t work out, your dad has to back off, right? there’s no way he’s going to let his daughter date multiple dudes in his company. Looks bad.” Marcella stood in front of Yeon, poking her cheek. “Smile.”
Several pokes later, Yeon slapped her friend's hand away. “Whatever, we will see if you’re right.”
Later that night, Yeon sat at the table her hands in her lap, her hanbok freshly pressed and she waited for her father to bring in this Jun Seo. Marcella was all smiles sitting on the opposite side of the table.
“Yeon, stop scowling.” Her mother said, fixing a napkin in front of her.
Yeon sighed. ‘Ma, please.”
“Stop scowling, smile, and be polite. Look at Marcella, she’s ready for action.” Leaning her head towards, Marcella.
“I really don’t want to get in the middle of this, I’m just supporting Yeon.” Marcella put her hands up in defense.
Just as Yeon was about to say something, her father entered the room again. The man that followed him was taller than her father. He had to be at least 6′0″, his face was chiseled, a strong jaw, hair cut short, he wore a light gray suit, with a red shirt matching her hanbok. As Marcella and her mother stood, Yeon almost forgot too, and she scrambled up, bowing saying hello.
“I suppose, that means you find him attractive?” Her mother whispered.
Yeon ignored her mother, as her father made introductions, saving Yeon for last. “This is my daughter, I’ve told you about. Hyo Park Yeon.”
He bowed towards Yeon before taking her hand, kissing it lightly. “It’s a pleasure actually meeting you, I’ve only seen your pictures in your father’s office. Call me Jun Seo.”
She bowed back, her face heating up as he kissed her hand. Marcella gave her the ‘yes, girl take him’ face, as she smiled at Jun Seo. “Yeon is what everyone usually calls me.”
Her father instructed Jun Seo to sit next to her, and they began dinner. Of course, her father would make Jun Seo talk about his accomplishments while boasting of the things that Yeon did in college. He talked about her stellar GPA, volunteering at animal shelters, her proficiency in English, Korean and French. During the course of dinner, Jun Seo gradually scooted himself closer to her, until his thigh was touching her own under the table.
“You look beautiful, I must admit, much better than in your pictures.” Jun Seo whispered as he leaned over into her space, his breath touched her neck.
Silently, she damned Marcella as she shivered at the contact. He was handsome, funny, witty, accomplished, and he seemed to like her, but did they have anything in common? So far, besides speaking English and Korean, nothing. She nodded at what he said, determined to play hard to get. As dinner ended, and dessert began, her parents excused themselves to the kitchen to check on ‘the preparations’ they said, as Marcella excused herself to the bathroom. Yeon tried to give Marcella a face to stay, but her friend smiled leaving her in the room with Jun Seo.
“So, you’re 20, you were living in Atlanta, you’re still in college majoring in business economics and a minor in math. That’s boring stuff, I want to know you.” His voice was deep, the bass of it seemed to drum in her ears, and make her all the more aware of how long it had been since she was this close to a man.
“Like what? Be specific.” She turned towards him, willing herself not to smile.
He flashed his pearly whites at her, taking her fingers in his too warm hand. “Your hand is cold, are you nervous?”
She tried to remove her hand, but he held on tight. “No. It’s cold in here.”
Jun Seo moved her hand towards his mouth, blowing warm air on her fingers. “It’s warm to me.”
“You’re quite hands-on, aren’t you?” She asked him raising an eyebrow.
Immediately he let her hand go. “I’m sorry, does that bother you? I assumed since you are not Korean, it wouldn’t bother you to physically show affection.”
Ok, what? Yeon scrunched her nose up, sliding back from him. “I am Korean.” She felt irritation creep into her chest. “I am also black, I can be both. I don’t have to choose.”
Jun Seo smiled at her. “I simply meant, you are not full Korean. You don’t have the stigmas of a woman who grew up here. America is…more open to that sort of thing.”
“I am not full Korean. I’m a black woman. So, you would assume, I was ok with you touching me? You would think I was sexually open?” She put her balled fist under her chin, watching him search for what to say.
“I didn’t mean to offend you.” He put his hands up in defense. “I think what I said was wrong. We grew up in different households, perhaps what I know is not what you know. You spent a lot of time in America, and correct me if I am wrong, but if a man likes a woman there, it is acceptable for him to show physical affection. I simply thought you would be alright with this.”
She watched his face, he was trying to placate her. She decided to let it go, for now, turning away from him, taking a drink from her glass, saying nothing.
“Am I wrong?” His fingers gently brushed the curls on the back of her neck.
She shivered, mentally hating herself for not being immune to his charms. “When I don’t like it, I’ll be more than happy to let you know.”
He laughed, letting his hand fall down her back. “Your father said you had a tongue with fire on it.” Leaning in close to her, she could smell his cologne, he let his mouth graze near her ear, his arm settling in front of her, his hand covering her own. “I don’t think I mind getting burned.”
Yeon felt her heart damn near fall into her stomach, it had been so long since she even let a man touch her sexually. ‘You will not sleep with him, you will not kiss him.’  She chanted in her mind. Just as she was about to answer however, her parents came back into the room, her mother carrying dessert.
“I hope we weren’t gone too long.” She felt the absence of his heat near her, his thigh wasn’t even touching hers anymore, and she almost missed it.
Marcella came back into the room, not meeting her eyes, as she sat down. After dinner, Mr. Hyo and Jun Seo went to his office to talk, while the ladies went into the parlor.
“He’s very nice, isn’t he? And handsome too, your father wouldn’t disappoint you.” She stood next to the door of the parlor, holding onto Marcella’s arm. “We will leave you in here now, I think your father will bring Jun Seo in awhile.”
“Wait, what?” Before she could protest, both women left her in the parlor, standing in the middle of the room, looking like an idiot.
It wasn’t long before Jun Seo came in, closing the door behind him, he brought a glass of wine with him. “I bring a gift.” He settled himself on the couch, waiting for her.
“Look, Jun Seo.” He cut her off, putting the glass into her hand as she sat down.
“Drink, take the edge off your nerves.” He took a sip of his own, staring at her.
“No, I’m going to talk thank you. Don’t get any delusions of grandeur in your head. I’m 20, I’m not looking for marriage.” She took a sip of her wine, staring him down, accessing him.
“I realize. We can date a few years.” He smiled at her and continued to speak before she could protest. “You don’t know me well, I understand. We just met, but from what I can see, and what I know. I like you. Give me a chance. It wouldn’t kill you right?”
She sighed, resisting the urge to roll her eyes at his attempt to look cute. “I can do that.”
“Good, I’d like to take you on a lunch date, tomorrow. I can bring a friend, for your friend. He likes brown women.” There goes that again, she thought, and she jumped to Marcella’s defense.
“He better not have a fetish. I don’t play that. She’s my best friend.” He shook his head at her.
“Not like that, I mean he prefers browner women, I don’t think it’s a bad thing or a good one. That’s just his preference.”
She narrowed her eyes at him. “I’ll keep an eye on him, however, yes, you can take me out.”
“Good, now something else I’ve been waiting to do all night.” Jun Seo quickly took her glass from her, setting it on a low table in front of them. He moved his hand to the back of Yeon’s neck bringing her lips to his, kissing her.
She felt her lips soften as soon as he touched hers. The hand on the back of her neck, slowly left, trailing down her back, pushing her body into his. She moaned softly into the kiss, her lips opening, he didn’t take the opportunity instead he licked his tongue out trailing along her lower lip. She felt her resolve weaken, and just as she felt the need to attack him, he let her go, pulling her to a stand.
“I’ll see you tomorrow at noon.” Bowing at her, he opened the doors wide to the parlor, and walked out, leaving her in the room, dazed and wondering if that really just happened.
The whole night Marcella quizzed her on what happened. Asking the same questions in different ways, seeing if there was more to be picked at with this guy. She told her about the kiss, and Marcella nearly squealed, asking for an exact play by play of the story. When the girls parted for the night, Yeon laid in bed, thinking about his lips on hers. So maybe, he wasn’t so bad. She could definitely give him a try.
The next day, she prepared for her double date. Choosing a simple outfit of jeans, a V-neck shirt, keds, and a kimono wrap. She still had her American style. She drove one of her father cars, to the venue and met with Jun Seo and his friend. They had lunch of the veranda, and she learned more about him. She saw how open he was, outside of her fathers home. He greeted her with a smile and a kiss on the cheek, chaste.
She did still have a love of K-pop but she loved conscious hip-hop like Kendrick Lemar and Talib Kweli. He was a fan of Drake. She enjoyed science fiction movies, and he confessed there was no movie better than Predator. They both loved Star Trek, and Jun Seo admitted in his free time he played Call of Duty or League of Legends. She was more of a Metal Gear Solid or Final Fantasy kind of girl. The date ended, but he didn’t kiss her again, he hugged her whispering into her ear, that he couldn’t sate her appetite just yet for him. She rolled her eyes, departing with Marcella back towards home.
“So, are Y'all gonna date?” Yeon thought long and hard about her next words.
“Yes and no.” She looked down at her phone at a red light changing the song to one by SHINee.
“Ok, so what does that mean? You can’t do both.” Marcella sat back in her seat waiting to hear this gem of an explanation.
“We can date and he can take me out, but I’m not committing to anything just yet. I just got here, I still want to concentrate on school and have fun. My dad wants me to see if he’s ok and date. Fine, I’ll do that, but nothing serious.” She was confident in her answer.
“So, you're gonna hoe.” Marcella laughed as Yeon reached over, trying to hit her.
“Not gonna be fucking. I mean, I’d like to, but Korea is different than America in that aspect.” She smiled, giving Marcella, a side eye. “Maybe, he can taste the cookie, but that’s it for a sampler.”
Marcella bust out laughing. “Dirty bih!!”
The girls clubbed that night, sleeping in the next day, The following week was Marcella’s last week, and they shopped, saw movies that came out earlier in Asia, on that last Friday they decided to go to a new club in Seoul. Yeon let her hair go in a wash and go, she did up her makeup, applying a burgundy lipstick. She wore a short-sleeved, form-fitting club dress, that came mid-thigh, but had a low collared neck, a long gold necklace completed the accessories. Her gold calf high sandals adorned her newly pedicured feet, with her French tipped toes.
Marcella wore a long-sleeved, deep V-neck white dress. It was mid-thigh and she choose to accessorize in red, with red heels. Her thin chained silver necklace lay between her breasts, as both girls looked at themselves in the mirror.
“Walking sexbots.” Marcella purred, slapping Yeon’s ass playfully.
Yeon rubbed her ass. “I could go home with someone tonight.”
Marcella raised a skeptical eyebrow. “And have your parents pissed at me for not stopping you?”
“We can always say check into a hotel, say we were too drunk to come home.” Yeon grabbed a black clutch, opening her door.
“We’ll see.” Marcella walked past her, and down the stairs.
The girls drank, dancing the night away to a mix of American pop, rap, K-pop and K-rap. They danced with each other, and some group of guys, who had been following them half the night. Marcella was still on the floor grinding with some tall guy who thought, leopard print was the hottest thing; when Yeon went to sit down in their both, sobering up with water.
Jay didn’t really feel like going to the club tonight, but Gray was all about it. This new place had only been opened since last week, and people were already raving about it. Some Korean rappers, already said it could be their favorite spot, so they had to check it out.
“Come on, Jay, you’ve been in that studio for like two weeks. Besides, there could be some cuties out here, maybe take one or two home.” Simon-D smiled, at him as they got past the velvet ropes.
“You know that’s not my style.” Jay kept his shades, on following the waitress who was a little too happy to walk in front of them, letting her too tiny dress hike up on her thighs.
She wasn’t his type though, too eager. She leads them to a booth in the back, leaning back on the table to show them her enhanced goods. Jay looked around, putting his shades on top of his head. The spot was live, that much was true, and just as he was about to sit down, the lights flashed on a woman’s face, drinking a water bottle alone. He watched her lips around the bottle, his eyes moving to her face. She was beautiful. Gray, pulled him into the booth, and he didn’t hear what they said to him as he craned his neck around to see the woman. She had disappeared into the crowd. Jay stood up and looked for her again. There was another booth closer to her, he ran his hand through his hair, moving it away from his eyes.
“Let’s move to that booth. It’s still VIP, but I can see the club better.”
Gray and Simon-D groaned, protesting from moving from their spots, but when Jay had already started walking, they got up following him.
“What’s the rush? The waitress, was cute.” Gray called to him.
“Yea, if you like fake breasts,” Simon-D mumbled, earning an arm punch from his punch.
The two continued to talk, as Jay slid into the new booth, with a good vantage point on the woman he wanted to look at. She was mixed that much was obvious, she had thick curly hair, that framed her face, her eyes gave away her Korean heritage. She stood up waving to another woman, and he nearly choked on his tongue looking at her body, she was shapely, he wasn’t a breast man in the first place, but those hips. That ass. He was in love on looks alone.
“I see what he sees,” Gray said, pointing her out to Simon.
Simon gave him a nudge. “She’s cute, go say hi Jay, why you still sitting here?”
They both knew why. Jay loved giving his fans a show, he danced and played around, his videos were steamy, and yea he could make sex sound like an art form but in reality, he was private. He was shy and quiet. Only those close to him saw how he truly was. What fans saw, what they heard and who Jay Park really was, didn’t always correlate. He wasn’t really listening to them, all he knew was that the lyrics to his song solo were in his head now. ‘Please be single, be single, be single.’
“Naw, she probably got a man, woman like that.” He leaned back, watching as her friend, headed back to the dance floor. He ordered a drink, looking away from her, thinking if he should just nurse it for the night.
Yeon swiveled her neck around, now that the room wasn’t spinning anymore. She sighed, feeling the heat of eyes on her face. It was always a peculiar thing, thing, when in a room with hundreds of other people you could feel, one pair of eyes on you. It was like a creeping feeling, somewhere in your soul, that nagged at you. She looked around carefully, before settling on a face, that watched her. His eyes darted away from her face, and she watched his friends start to laugh at him, pushing him playfully. She grinned, so it was him. He was cute, his hair was longer on top, and kept falling into his face, making him push it away.
Were those tattoos? His whole left arm was covered in them it seemed, down to his hands. She looked away, finishing her water, but peeking out the side of her eye. He looked back at her, god licking his perfect lips, she seized the opportunity and snapped her face back towards him smiling, He nearly died, turning his whole body away, from her. Was he really about to sit here and play like she didn’t just catch him? Yeon rolled her eyes standing up, she fixed her dress, walking around the back of the booth, while he was looking away.
Jay felt his heart race, she caught him again. He should really just say something to her. Gray echoed his thoughts. He looked back towards her table, she was gone. Shit, had she left? Where did she go? Just as he wiped his jeans off, about to get up, he felt a tap on his shoulder.
“So, you were gonna play cat and mouse with me all night and not say hi?” Even her voice was sexy, he turned on his best smile turning around to look at her.
“Naw, I was sending you mind waves, for you to come to me.” He stood up, holding his hand out to her. “I’m Jae-Beom Park.”
“First name, last name, you must be American, that and no accent.” She took his hand, shaking it. “Are you going to invite me to sit?”
Jay looked flustered. “I’m sorry, yea go ahead.” He let her slide into the booth, trying to not let her catch him, staring at her ass, as she did so.
“I”m Park Yeon Hyo, by the way, just call me Yeon.” She turned towards his friends in the booth. “You guys are?”
Gray and Simon-D introduced themselves quickly before excusing themselves.
“Your friends don’t wanna throw salt in your G-A-M-E huh?” She laughed lightly.
“If I have any,” Jay said, trying to look humble.
“Uh huh.” She smiled at him, and he licked his lips, looking away. “Why do you keep looking away?” She pushed at his arm lightly.
“I don’t know. Nervous. You’re beautiful, you’ve probably heard it all, I’m wondering what I could say that’s different, and would pique your interest.” He was honest, in that statement, he looked full on at her, and Yeon watched his mouth move as he talked.
He was way too good looking, to be some regular everyday guy. “For starters, that. I don’t think I’ve heard it all, but you’re welcome to try.”
“You got jokes,” Jay stated, laughing at what she said.
They traded banter back and forth, he didn’t feel like he was even talking to her long, before his friend found her, and came up to her. “I’m ready to go are you?”
She nodded her head at Marcella, before turning to Jay to apologize. “I’m sorry, we’ve been here awhile, and I’m ready to sleep as well.” She stood up, offering her hand to Jay, frowning on the inside that he hadn’t asked for her number.
As she turned to walk away, she felt his hand on her shoulder stopping her, he looked bashful, pulling out his phone. “I’m sorry, I’m gonna hate myself tomorrow, if I don’t get your number.”
Marcella let out an ‘ohhhh’ in the background as Yeon rolled her eyes at her friend.
“I can’t let you do that now can I?” She took his phone, putting her number in and calling it, once it rang she hung up and handed it back to him. “Guess, I’ll hear from you whenever, Jae-Beom.”
She turned quickly, holding onto her friend's arm walking out of the club. Jay stared down at his phone, looking at her number before adding her name. He wondered how soon, was too soon to text someone.

Chapter 4: Holiday Season
Black!Reader x E’Dawn

Tumblr media
Everyone was excitedly going around the garden and taking pictures with one another in their new hanboks. It was a bit hard for you earlier with everyone being with their families when you had just left yours, but your friends assured you that you weren’t alone. It was fun getting to meet everyone’s parents and siblings, hear stories about their childhood.
You were glad that Rosé’s and Hui’s parents were so welcoming and kind when they showed up. They were the only ones here so far and they were so kind. Most of the parents showed up in the next hour for a visit. The adults greeted each other and their children and grand children in some cases.
Everyone was smiling and eating, playing games...except Hyojong. You looked around for him and he was sitting outside looking at a few roses on the outer hedge. He looked sad. Hui nodded his head towards his friend when you two made eye contact. You nodded and excused yourself for a bit.
[Two months earlier, December 20th.]
Tumblr media
Because it was your first time needing a hanbok for anything, the girls were adamant about you getting one custom made. The girls being Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa along with Amber who helped to calm everyone down when they got too excited. You were excited too, it was a big first. Just, not nearly as much squealing. There was a shop where you could get pre-made ones that would also make them for you.
They decided to go for a more modern look with pastels while Amber was looking for pants. The sales clerk kept giving her a side eye, but then another one came who spoke with a deeper voice and was wearing a more feminine style hanbok.
“Mom, she says she doesn’t want a skirt. Stop it, please. I’ll take over, and you help the 4 bunny-like women.”
They were hopping everywhere looking at the new styles while holding them up to one another while you were getting your measurements taken by an older women who had no doubt in what she was doing. She didn’t talk much which made you kind of nervous.
E’dawn and Hui came in and started talking with the girls. They had already gotten theirs made and were just waiting on you. The older woman wanted to be called Missus Min and didn’t apologize when she pricked you.
“Missus Min?”
“Hmm?”
“Have you ever made a hanbok for anyone like me before?”
She gave a small smile, “More now than ever. Yes. We don’t treat them any differently if that’s what you’re worried about. No matter what their skin color is, we want our clients to leave here feeling beautiful.”
You smiled and let out a breath, “Thank you. I’m sorry. I’m just nervous and I keep wondering if I should even be doing this.”
“You’re not playing dress up. You’re getting ready to celebrate a holiday with your Korean friends. I promise that by the time I’m done with you, you’ll feel like a Korean girl yourself, now stand up straight.”
E’dawn was talking to Amber and helping her find something.
“Should I also go for the pastel thing? I wanna match with the other girls to some extent, but just pants.”
The deep voiced femme piped up, “We’ve got pastels for the more masculine folk too. Mostly blue and greens, but also pink has been popular too in the recent years.” She picked up a pink floral vest. “These would go great with some light blue pants.”
A squeal was heard, “Oh my gosh! This is so cute!” Jennie twirled in a pastel pink hanbok. A light flower pattern on the skirt.
The other three came out in their own traditional dresses. Rosé in blue, Jisoo in purple, and Lisa in green. They all smiled at the super happy and excited girls who spun like princesses and let their hair fan out behind them.
The mother asked, “So, is this a yes from anyone?”
All the girls nodded and agreed. Lisa approached E’Dawn and teased him.
“How do I look?” She flipped her hair dramatically and struck a pose.
“You look--” His eyes caught movement and stopped talking.
Curious at what he was gaping at, she turned around and gasped. Soon enough, everyone in the store was looking at you. Jisoo and Jennie held hands and let out another squeal.
“Oh wow, (Y/N). You look amazing!” Hui said.
Amber agreed, “Like a princess! Holy pineapple!”
You blushed and awkwardly played with your hair, “What do you think, Hyojong-oppa?”
He couldn’t stop staring at you. The way the lacy and floral white top contrasted your skin was beautiful. The large red flowers and leaves on the skirt just made it seem like it was actually pure gold when it was on you. He didn’t know what to say, and so he just had his mouth hanging open and his heart beating so hard in his chest.
It wasn’t until Amber threw an arm around him and answered for him, that he woke up.
“He loves it too.”
“Y-yeah. You just. Wow. You look. I just. Wow.” He looked around and then pointed at you again. “Wowwwww.”
Your face started to get hot again as the others laughed and smiled at how starstruck Hyojong was.
“It matters what you think, though, (Y/N). Do you like it?” He asked.
You looked down at your custom hanbok and nodded, “Yes. I like it. I really like it a lot.”
The mother, father, child, and grandmother all clapped and then you were ushered to the back to get everything off. You heard Hyojong say you were so pretty before you were completely out of ear shot, but you couldn’t see that he touched his cheeks to hide his blush.
After getting everything off and changing back into your casual clothes, the girls had bought theirs and had them in protective bags and boxes. The hanbok would be done in the next two weeks. You told them to take their time and not to rush it since you were going to be out of the country until next month.
They said they had a pick up limit of a week.
“I’ll pick it up for you.” E’dawn said. “Mine is just around the corner, so it won’t put me too out of the way or anything. Besides, I wouldn’t want you to be unable to wear such a beautiful custom made hanbok because you’re visiting family.”
You smiled at him and agreed that would be ok. Then the father remarked that he was such a good boyfriend. You two replied you were just friends. The grandmother laughed. Showing more emotion that she had the whole entire time you guys had been there. She even started crying from laughing so hard and went into the back.
“Well then.” The father said and gave a receipt and pick up date.
Tumblr media
So your Sexy Mrs. Claus dress had come in the other day, and it fit perfectly which was great for you. Hui said it was a tradition, and you were more than happy to participate in it. Korean Christmas was more focused around friends than family like in the West. You saw lots of girls in the dress, but there was no one really making sure you were wearing it.
It was just some fun at the hot springs that Hui’s aunt owned part of with her wife of a few years. It was strange, though. Other bells went off in your head telling you and helping you realize that you had been bamboozled. Yeah, you looked fucking fantastic in the Santa dress and hooded Christmas capelet, but everyone was staring at you. You didn’t like the way they did it.
“Of course the Western girl is trying to stand out.”
“Black girls are always so extra.”
Looking at them in the eyes, you said, “Maybe so.” and went to go yell at a boy with periwinkle hair.
You weren’t exactly upset by the harmless trick that had been played on you, but there were few things that you wanted to say to Hui. Not enough people were dressed as Sexy Santas for it to be a tradition. You felt like you had were being seen as a novelty, and you didn’t like it. He was standing next to E’dawn and you punched him in the green plaid covered arm.
“What the hell, dude? This outfit is not a fucking tradition! I feel like I’m Elle Woods but on a different holiday!”
“I don’t know who that is.” He said and you folded your arms. “Look, I’m sorryyyy, but you wouldn’t have done it if I hadn’t said so.”
You rolled your eyes, “Maybe. If you wanted to see me in this you coulda just--”
He smiled, “It wasn’t for me.”
Confused, you were going to ask who it was, then you turned your head to the other oppa standing there who was basically drooling as he had a pretty solid grip on his red solo cup. Was he going to say something? Even as you stared at him in his wrapping paper patterned suit, he just stood there.
Tumblr media
“Oppa?” You waved your hand in front of his face.
“Huh?” He crushed the red solo cup at the sound of his voice and a fizzy drink spilled all over his hand and the floor. Everyone around him backed up.
The blonde boy looked at the mess then back at you. “I’m gonna go get something to clean this up. Stay here. I want to tell you how great you look.” He went off to dispose of the cracked, no obliterated cup and get a towel or something.
You smiled but still scolded Hui, “Everyone’s talking about me, saying I’m being extra flashy and stuff just because I’m me, but they don’t even know me!”
“Of course everyone is talking. You look amazing.”
Lisa said as she and your other female friends were dressed in similar red dresses, except Amber, of course. She couldn’t help but find the perfect wrapping paper suit that she fell in love with. It was basically a classy ugly sweater.
Momo pinched his ear, “If you ever lie to us again, I’ll have your head.” Then she stepped back and spun around in her white heels. “Don’t I look pretty?” She had her hair in ponytails and had fuzzy Christmas themed bobbles on the band.
“Watch out for Hyojong’s liquid on the floor, ladies.”
They all jumped back and looked down.
You explained, “He crushed his cup by accident.”
“Because you’re he saw how beautiful (Y/N) was.” Hui teased.
“Here he comes now.” You said.
He had a towel in his hand and squatted down to clean up the pile. Then it was back to a normal party. You felt good with your group of super supportive gal pals and bros, and E’dawn. There was no doubt in your mind that you thought he was the cutest most special guy in your life right now, but it’s not like you could just tell him that.
It was too sappy and cheesy. Especially on Christmas. Nope, no you weren’t going to tell him. It wasn’t the time for this even though you maybe sort of, ok you really wanted to kiss him under the mistletoe.
A cute guy with an oval shaped face and cute dimples asked you for a dance, and you said sure. His name was Jooheon, and he was super sweet.
Hyojong was hyping himself up to go dance with you when he saw the other guy in a green and white suit ask you. He was all gentlemanly about it, too. What was he supposed to do now? You seemed like you were having a good time with him.
Jennie poked his arm, “Hey. You like (Y/N), right?”
He nodded, “Yeah. I was just about to dance with her, but now I’m all nervous again because that guy got her before me.”
“Then wait a bit and ask her then. You should really tell her how you feel. When we opened presents this morning, you got her jewelry. No normal guy friend does that. And her face? I’m sure she feels the same way about you.”
Hyojong wasn’t sure, “I just...I’m not--”
“Go ask Wendy for a dance, Peter Pan. I’m sure she’ll say yes.” She pulled him towards you and Jooheon.
He had just told you about how long it had taken him to get the suit in particular because he was invited last minute, and it was the only one in his size. So you two were laughing, and you were glad that it worked out for him.
“Oh, hey, Jennie.” You said.
“Hey, (Y/N). Mind if I cut in? You can dance with E’dawn.”
You were bit too eager as you said, “Sure. That’s fine with me.” and cut off whatever Jooheon was saying. “Jennie, this is Jooheon.”
They joined hands and E’dawn held yours. It didn’t take long for the fourth wheel to realize he didn’t stand a chance with you. He went off with Jennie, and you were happy and comfortable swaying in Hyojong’s arms. The two of you talked about how his roots were starting to grow out. He wasn’t sure if he was going to bleach them again.
He asked about your flight tomorrow. You said you wanted to just enjoy the moment with him right now, and then BamBam shouted across the room to look up. Mistletoe. It was tied in a bright red bow, and it was impossible to miss. Amber turned on her camera and started recording.
“Oh, uh, well, it’s a tradition. I think we should.”
“I think we should too. It’s a tradition afterall.”
You closed your eyes and puckered up and ignored the nerves that told you to run. Hyojong kissed you. It was just a peck on the lips, but at least it wasn’t on the cheek. He kissed you, and it was on camera. Then you hid in his shoulder as everyone went “Aaaawwww~”
Later that night, the party had ended. It was just dancers and Hui’s and Hyojong’s group of friends. Most had crashed, but you were staring outside and watching the trees sway in the cold wind in a window seat. Even though you were in a sweater and comfy socks, you were still cold. Your hand absentmindedly played with the cherry necklace he had gotten you for Christmas.
“Need some warming up?” His voice asked and handed you a red mug with the word NICE on it.
“Oh, thanks, oppa.” You said and took it.
He sat across from you and your feet touched as he gave you a smile, an earring twinkling in the Christmas tree lights. You had noticed it before, but it was the pair of small silver hoops you gave him with a small chain dangle coming from it.
“Did you have a good Korean Christmas?”
“It was the best. What about you?”
He nodded, “Did you mind the kiss?”
You bit back a smile, “It might’ve been my favorite part of the night.”
Hyojong smiled and you two sat in a comfortable silence and finished your hot cocoa together. He hadn’t been sure if you wanted marshmallows, so he just brought the pack with him so that you could put as much as you wanted, along with candy canes.
He was a thoughtful guy, and in the morning, you woke up leaning on his chest as you two were on the floor. You kissed his cheek and got your stuff to take a taxi to your home for luggage and then to the airport before you got home. Your oppa had been only half awake when you kissed his face, but he knew it was real. It was the first time he realized that maybe she did actually like him back.

[Lunar New Year]
You were so glad to have visited your family back home, and you were sad to say goodbye to them once again. Still, you still had college classes and a new life to get back to. You waited for your phone and were still surprised to see that message from E’dawn that came at midnight your time zone.
It was a kiss emoji followed by the words “Happy New Year!” in English.
You asked him what is was for, and he said that he had seen your post earlier about not having anyone to kiss at midnight. He was now your first midnight kiss, and had made sure of it. That’s why he had asked what your time zone was.
He was just so sweet. Maybe he did like you like the others said. Either way, after catching up on sleep, you went to his place to pick up your hanbok. E’dawn gave you the longest hug and said that you were hanging out with him and his guy friends for the rest of the day.
Also, he wanted you to get used to him now that he had let his hair go fully back to brown instead of the blonde he had before you left back home.
“You’re not too tired or busy, are you?” Hyojong asked to make sure he wasn’t impeding on any plans.
You shook your head. Most of your work had been finished already, and you were hoping to spend some time with him. It was mostly watching his friends play video games and him showing you ones you had never seen before. Then you two went outside to practice your Peter Pan set at the park in front of his apartments.
The music plan was for it to go something like this, mostly pop but with the influence of other genres too:
Peter Pan- Hip hop
Wendy- Pop/Girl Groups
Lost Boys- EDM
Tinkerbell & Mermaids- Classical + Classical influenced
Hook- Rock music
Tiger Lily- Instrumental
One of the Taller African girls would be Adult Wendy talking to her children and telling them the story of her visit from Peter Pan. This happens during the song “Neverland” sung by Zendaya and as things wind down, it transitioned to you in bed with your brothers asleep during the sort of trap/hiphop instrumental that plays. It flows seamlessly into a trap instrumental when peter pan entered. A HA:TFELT song called “Peter Pan” with a hiphop beat would play on the travel way to Neverland.
When the Lost Boys were being introduced, they would dance to “Bangarang” by Skrillex with lots of tumbling and B-boy tricks which would lead into meeting Tiger Lily with Traditional Korean instrumentals. The piece was called “Continue to Be” by David Arkenstone and would be used as the background to a sword dance that Wendy would watch with Peter and her siblings.
Then it would return to the Lost Boys with “Crayon” by G-Dragon then Hook’s entrance interrupts it all with a mix of “Goodnight” by Dreamcatcher and “Blood, Sweat, and Tears” by BTS only lasting for about a minute and thirty seconds since the whole thing had to be between 10-15 minutes. Part of “Goodnight” Would then mix with “Peter Pan” from the beginning when the ‘kiss’ saves Peter.
Then the ticking scares Captain Hook and he goes away. Then it’s slow EDM with “Castle in the Clouds” by Brandon Fiechter until Tinkerbell is saved and then it’s time to go home. “Lost Boy” by Ruth B plays and then it’s back in the bedroom.
There are a few lines that are said, that end with “Faith, trust, and pixie dust.” and off Peter Pan and Tinkerbell go. The kids go off to tell their parents and Adult Wendy comes back in and dances to the rest of “Neverland”. At the end, she’s in bed and there’s a knock at the window.
A few people watched as you two practiced and commented on your chemistry since you were in public. There were a few things that you really wanted to work on, but you couldn’t without the others. During one of the times he caught you as you were “returning home” he kissed you and “jumped out the window”
It got snears from the older veiwers, and even some of the youngers. You knew they weren’t huge in PDA, but you also worried that it wasn’t all it was.
“You should marry a nice Korean girl.” One of the men remarked.
“I might do just that.” You replied, making him go away.
He wanted to say that if it wasn’t you that he wouldn’t get married at all. Instead, he asked if you were ok. You lied. It wasn’t as bad as it would have been back home, but it still hurt.
“Let’s pick up where we left off, ok?” You said, going to your phone to start the music over.
Hyojong squeezed your hand and you two continued.
Then it became February and the streets seemed busier than usual because the Lunar New Year was coming up quickly.

“Are your parents coming?” You asked.
He nodded, “Yeah. It’s probably the traffic.”
You touched his arm, “Are you ok?”
“Mom’s gonna baby me.” Hyojong finally said. “I was sick a lot as a kid, and I was just sort of preparing myself for her.”
“I’m sure it’s--”
“It’s going to be most embarrassing since you’ll see it too.” He refused to meet your eyes.
You reached out and grabbed his hand, “I won’t think any differently of you. We can’t help what our parents think. This will be your chance to show them you’ve become a healthy young man.”
“Sure. I hope you’re right.” He reached out to one of the roses, and you tried to pull his hand away.
Instead, you ended up making the cut bigger, “Oh, fuck! I’m so sorry! Let’s go get a bandage.” You grabbed his wrist and pulled him inside, not caring if blood got onto the white of your hanbok.
You were kneeling at the kitchen table while cleaning and wrapping his finger in a bandage when his parents came in. They saw you mumbling and scolding him as he looked at you with love in his eyes. But wait, he was bleeding?!?!??!
His mother rushed over and hugged her baby to her chest while calling out his name and surprising the both of you.
“Oh my darling boy, what happened to you? Are you ok? I brought your medicine just in case you forgot because I know you tend to forget things when you’re excited and especially during the holidays when you do your visiting a lot.”
“Mom. Mom. I’m fine. I hurt myself on the rose bush outside and (Y/N) helped clean me up.”
You bowed deeply to his parents and greeted them respectfully as you introduced yourself. They bowed back, and you said that you’d leave to let them talk for a bit. One of the younger kids were calling for you anyways. They wanted to make sure you experienced all their traditions.
“I’ll be there as soon as I can!” Hyojong called out.
“Who’s she?” The dad asked, setting the food they brought on the counter.
“Friend from college. She’s American, and we’re on the dance team together. Both spotlight dancers. We’re friends.”
He smiled, “You like her?”
Hyojong nodded.
“You’ve always been a nervous baby. Just tell her! She would probably love to hear it!” his mom put in. “I can become that mom in two seconds if you don’t do something, son.”
He quickly stood up, “Fine. I’ll do something, but I wanna talk to you guys first. Let’s go to the living room, huh?”
Throughout the day, you got to know the other’s families, and they asked about yours. You told as much as you were comfortable with and hoped no one would try to dig in too much. It was comfortable and warm, and even E’dawn seemed a bit more flirty than usual. He held your hand and gave you so many back hugs while playing games.
It made your chest tighten and there were times you’d looked at him and focus on his lips, wanting to kiss them. This wasn’t the time for that though. It was a day for families, so you did your best not to actually kiss Hyojong. When it was time for everyone to leave, you felt kind of lonely and decided you were gonna head home as well.
Mrs. Kim gave her son a look and he offered to walk you to your car. You were surprised and curious, but you said of course. Any time that you could spend with him would be fantastic.
He asked what you thought of his parents.
You replied, “Opposites attract in their case. They seem nice. You were right about your mom, though. Sort of a helicopter, no offense.”
“None taken.” He laughed. “They really like you. Mom likes how you took care of me, and dad likes how good you were with the younger kids. Also, how respecting you were of our culture.”
“Of course! I love culture and I do my best not to do something stupid. So I did good?”
E’dawn nodded, “Yep. They think we make a great couple.”
You stopped mid step, “You told them we were a couple?”
“No! No..I didn’t, but...would it be so bad if we were?”
“No...” You bit your lip. “Not at all.” You swallowed. “I should go home. Practice my solo steps. Do some work.”
He pouted, “Don’t work today. Just relax. You deserve a break.”
You smiled at his cuteness and leaned on the side of your car, lightly pinching his cheek, “Ok, I won’t. I’ll see you soon.”
“One more thing before you go.”
“I was going to say the same.”
Hyojong kissed your lips, holding your face to his. “I really like you, (Y/N). I won’t be afraid to be seen with you. I love you.”
The children of the adults who were leaving all thought and shared the same sentiment that BamBam and Amber called at them.
“About time!”
“Finally, dude!”
They even clapped as the two of you laughed and kissed again.
One more chapter!

Random Drabble Series pt. 5/?
Her shoulder itches against the scratchy fabric of the old hanbok as she stands with a line of girls outside the camp.  The old branding scar still bothers her even though it had been a few years since Master Oh had pressed burning iron against the shoulder of a six year old.  Number 22 barely remembers who that girl is thanks to the plentiful beatings of Master Oh.
“What is your name?”
“It’s-”
Blinding pain and a mouth full of blood.
“I said what is your name.”
“I-I don’t remember.”
She tries to steel her expression as a short rich looking man stares at the line of girls, a perfumed handkerchief pressed against his nose and mouth to lessen the stench of them all.
“Are they girls or beasts?” he grumbles to Master Oh as he gestures toward them with his purple silk robes.
“A little bit of both,” Master Oh replies with a wicked grin full of black rotting teeth.  Number 22 shudders and she hates how that evil smile widens.  All the girls standing with her shiver.
“But, Master Oh, are these really the best you have?  Whoever we choose must be able to connect with the crown princess and gain her trust.  These slaves look like they can barely pass for being human.”
Number 22’s jaw clenches and she thinks that none of them are really human at all.  Humans at least have names.
“I think you would be surprised, sir, with how capable these girls can be.  You realize that during the time that they will serve this crown princess they will be continuing their training of martial arts.  Their potential is second to none.”
The man coughs into his handkerchief and surveys the girls again.
“They will have to be capable of killing the crown princess that they serve.  These little things can do that?”
Master Oh cackles and those black teeth shine.
“That and so much more, sir.”
The man sighs and mumbles something to himself before pulling a folded fan from his sleeve.  Number 22 watches curiously at the way the wooden lacquer gleams prettily in the sunshine.  A part of her wants to reach forward and feel if it is as smooth as it seems.
And then the man’s eyes lock with hers and she ducks her head quickly, feeling a flush in her cheeks.  She’ll get a beating for this, she’s sure of it.
Suddenly smooth wood taps lightly at her chin, forcing her to look up.  She realizes the man has chosen her, one hand firmly pressing his pretty handkerchief to his mouth and the other stiffly pointing that beautiful fan at her.
“I want this one,” he mumbles through the fabric.  And Number 22 shivers.
*****
“And what are you supposed to be?”
“Her most loyal servant.”
“But where do you loyalties actually lie?”
“With the Noron faction, sir.”
Number 22 swallows as Sir Hong stops in front of her.  They are walking to the crown princess’ home, days before the official marriage ceremony for her first introduction as one of Lady Kim’s palace maids.  The preparation for this day has been a blur of endless training on palace manners, condensing what some little girls learned their whole lives into a month.  But Number 22 takes the training as similar to holding a sword.  Each bow and curtsy has to be precise and perfect or your head would be lost just like in a fight.
“I’ve adopted you now and any mistake you make will cost me my head as well as yours.”  Number 22 bows her head as she tightens her grip on the overcoat she had pulled over her head to hide her face.
“Yes, sir.”
“Father.”
“Yes… Father.”
Number 22 stops behind Sir Hong as he pauses in front of a gate.
“It was by a stroke of pure luck that the crown princess’ father sent his daughter’s application to the King.  They were practically paupers and now they’ll have everything.”
Number 22 says nothing as she drops her eyes to her leather slippers, foreign and far too extravagant for her own feet.
“Your name will be Hong Byulyi.  Master Oh, gave me your old name from before.  Remember this and do not be afraid.”
Number 22 lifts her head as the gate opens and Sir Hong looks over his shoulder.
“Come Byulyi, let’s meet your new mistress.”
*****
Number 22 watches as Yongsun smiles softly at her embroidery.  Her curiosity overwhelms her and she cannot help herself.
“My lady,  what makes you smile so?”
“Because I’m almost done with this.”
“You have made many ribbons, my lady.  What makes this one so special?”
Yongsun pouts as she examines her handiwork.
“Does this ribbon not look pretty?”
Number 22 straightens and glances at the silk.  It is a typical long strand of dark blue fabric dotted with small bunches of purple and red flowers.  Strangely at the edge of the ribbon is yellow thread bunched together in some sort of strange shape.
“Do you like it?”
Number 22 tilts her head and leans closer, trying to see the strange shapes at the edge of the ribbon when she realizes just how close she is.  Pausing she tilts her head and sees Yongsun, a breathe away with a face flushed so red it is like she has a fever.
“Are you alright, My Lady?” Number 22 asks curiously, watching the way Yongsun’s eyes darted this way and that.
“I-I’m fine! But the ribbon!” Yongsun eagerly waves the piece of fabric in front of Number 22’s nose.  “Do you like it?”
Byulyi leans back, ignoring the soft sigh from Yongsun.
“Yes, it’s very pretty.  But… what exactly are the things at the bottom?”
“Things?”
“Yes the… things with the yellow thread?”
And Yongsun’s face turns red again as she ducks her head.
“They’re… they’re stars.”
“Oh… I see.”
“It’s because you said you liked stars didn’t you?  That’s why I put them on here.”
“Why would you put something I like on a ribbon?”
Yongsun’s mouth puckers into a pout.
“Because this is for you!  I was making you a ribbon.”
“You were going to give me… a gift?”
“Yes! But you obviously hate it so I should just…”
“No. No I want it.”
Number 22 reaches forward and gently holds Yongsun’s wrist, stopping her from flinging the ribbon into her desk.
“But you didn’t even like the stars…”
“I’ve never had a gift before.”  Something hammers in her chest and Number 22 is confused by why her heart feels heavy.  This is important she realizes dimly as she looks into Yongsun’s wide brown eyes.  Everything feels a little dreamy with the way the light from outside colors the room in the sleepy sunlight of springtime, softening the edges of everything.
“Byul-ah, will you take my gift?” Yongsun asks gesturing at the ribbon on the desk.
And Byulyi just smiles.
*****
The Prince paces restlessly in front of her, his white sleeping robes open to reveal his chest and his pant ties loose.  He holds his sword, polished to a nearly impossible shine in his left hand while he gestures madly with his right.
“Do you know why I have called you here today?”
Byulyi swallows any sharp retort, instead bowing her head.
“I do not, Your Highness.”
She hears the sound of steel swing toward her but she forces her instincts to stop herself from ducking away and picking up whatever weapon she could find to fight back.
The sword is pointed at her forehead, the tip barely touching her skin.  If she leans forward she’d have a bloody cut that’d inevitably scar.
“Your Highness?” she asks calmly.  Just by the way he is standing she can tell he would easily be disarmed.
“Tell me why you think I called you here.”
“I do not know that, Your Highness.”
The prince’s face twists into a maniacal smile and he throws back his head and laughs as he reaches for the bottle of liquor on his lacquer study table.
“They say I’m crazy you know,” he rambles with a grin, pointing the sword lazily at Byulyi as he takes a generous swig from the porcelain bottle.
“My father… my father has always hated me since I was small.  Never had a chance to prove myself…. prove myself to HIM. HE NEVER LET HIMSELF LOVE ME THE WAY HE SHOULD HAVE!  He… he…”  The prince’s eyes were wet with tears and he looks at her like the little boy he was.  Byulyi can almost forget yesterday and the way Yongsun had screamed as he had brought a head of a decapitated eunuch, like a cat proudly dragging a mouse to its master.
“Your Highness.”
“I know. That you love her.”
“Your Highness?”
The prince smiles darkly and dropped his sword with a clatter and rushes toward her.  He grips her collar and he is too close with his breath hot and smelling like madness and rice wine.
“I see your eyes.  I see the way they follow her.”
Byulyi’s jaw twitches and she fights the urge to twist his wrist and flip him onto his back.
“Whatever do you mean, Your Highness?”
“Is there… is there a part of you that hopes that I’ll die? So that you can have her all to yourself?”
“Your Highness. What are you talking about?”
“She is quite wonderful you know.  If I wasn’t so stressed by my father maybe we would have more children.  Yongsun… Yongsun is so soft and her taste-”
Byulyi doesn’t realize that she has the crown prince on his back with her hand on his throat until she hears the shatter of the porcelain wine bottle.  She sees him smile up at her like some idiot and she wants to just squeeze and squeeze until she can’t see his triumphant eyes anymore.
“I won’t tell anyone,” he teases with a giggle. “But only because no one would believe me if I did!”
Byulyi staggers tripping on her skirts and collapsing next to the prince who still lies on his back grinning at the ceiling.
“You can go, Court Lady Hong,” he cheerfully says after a long silence.  “Get back to my wife safely.  I’m sure she’s terribly lonely without you!”

Busan
So I had to just go to Busan. I have seen dramas filmed in and about Busan and it was on my bucket list. I am really glad I went this whole weekend! It was a bit of an ordeal for comfortable Americans, like myself, to have to manage all the buses, trains, walking, etc. I walked to my bus stop 1132 and took that to Taereung where I caught Line 6 just for one stop to Seokgye, got off and walked a lot to Line 1 and took that to Seoul station. That’s were I walked a lot more and got to the KTX station up on top and bought my ticket to Busan. I walked to the gates where everyone who was waiting was sitting on these pretty bleachers to see what gate their train would be at. Just fyi - it only shows the gates to go to for trains departing about 30-40 minutes into the future. Ten minutes of waiting I see gate 8 and its a mad dash down two flights of stairs. The seats were luxurious and comfy. I was able to have free internet for most of the ride as provided by KTX as long as we weren’t in a tunnel.
South Korea is full of hills, small mountains, and deep green trees and bushes. I guess I was really amazed at all the beautiful forestation and mountains with full cities in the valleys. I highly recommend you take the train south at least once to see it. I can only imagine what it looks like in the fall!
Getting off the KTX train was an adventure as you had to go out the main doors and down about 4 flights of stairs to get to the metro lines. There I was a bit confused as route 1004 was actually train 7. Thanks to two beautiful young Korean ladies who walked up to me and asked if I needed help, I made it to the right train. Then off the train and about 4 blocks of walking I was about where I needed to be. Thanks to public internet, I could use my map with great accuracy to find my hotel down this alley type street. In SK, there are stores, restaurants, you name it, tucked away on literally every nook and cranny of street space. Basically there is no ‘backdoor; or backside to a store. There are TWO stores for every single building, unless it’s a rich store who owns both the front and the back. :)
After checking into my hotel with the owner and her cute 12 year old daughter, I was shown the Korean way of using your key. It goes into a slot in your mini hallway to turn on all your room electricity. When you leave with the key, everything goes off to save the bill. Next are the slippers you have to use as you are not allowed to use street shoes in any home or hotel room. I then had to use the bathroom so bad after all the train/bus riding and walking. This is where I saw and used my first real Korean shower.  See, this country does not have bathtubs, only showers with no shower curtain and a drain in the center. You can take a shower, brush your teeth in the sink all while soaping up! For those reading who have watched the K-dramas, or dramas from China or Thailand, will know exactly what I am talking about. I will post pics later in my blog so be sure to look for those!
With wet hair I walked back a few blocks to ‘The Hyundai” department store where I was told they had everything and a food court. Well, it’s like a Korean Macy’s just full of helpful people giving you cups of tea, little cookies and trying to get you to buy some expensive item. Thanks to google translate I was able to determine that they did not sell any type of hair products for covering the roots of your hair. I did manage to  get suckered into buying ‘White Musk’ violet version that older and quite attractive, Gong Yoo endorsed. It smells delicious, and like Korea on the trains - cute Korean women dressed to the 9′s, and smelling good.
Desperate for a root touch up, I walked into a salon two doors from my hotel. Again Papago translator to the rescue and we determined that Korea does not sell this product. So with that I thank the Chinese government for tossing out my can of gray root cover up and decided to let these nice folks give me a $40 hair dye cover-up. Wow! They matched my hair color exactly, shampooed my hair (even though I just did it lol), got a head massage, water/tea and little dumpling, and good conversation with the family.  They stayed open late just for me to get this done too. They wouldn’t take a tip, which is just like Korea - no tips for anything.
Dinner, heck I hadn’t had lunch either! So I walked again, about 3 blocks across from the big street and found this chicken place. I had the famous chicken and beer thing everyone says you have to have here. It was good and I was given a fork and tongs to pull the meat off the bone. There will be none of this eating with your fingers here! There is a little bucket already lined with a bag for your bones along with a pack of wet wipes on the table. I had half regular and half of the soy sauce wings and lost my sense of all flavor. Soy sauce crunchy fried chicken is the bomb - they know how to do this chicken thing RIGHT! Served with cut small radishes, along with Korean mustard and more sauce. I went ahead and asked for the famous Korean beer - at only .50 cents why not? It was good, and a perfect match to the chicken.  I was happy sitting alone but the 5 Korean college kids invited me to their table saying “no one should be alone”. They were nice, one kid had applied to SM and was hoping to be an idol even though he was 19. He sang a bit for us and his friends gave him a hard time.  I had been secretly enjoying their banter and laughter from my table. One student had a contagious laugh that was just awesome. I thanked them for their company and walked back to my motel even though they insisted on walking me.
I was asked to coffee in the morning from a language friend here in Busan. I said yes and agreed to 9:30am since he was teaching the junior high kids at church. On Sunday morning he calls me and said he was already out front 30 minutes early! Way to panic a tired American who probably shouldn’t have drank beer the night before since I’m not a regular alcohol consumer. The coffee and company was nice even though my new friend had to leave and apologized for not be able to show me around Busan.
I said goodbye and went back into my hotel to grab a bite of breakfast. I gave the rest of my wings to the other owner, who gratefully accepted them for his lunch. I just didn’t want to walk around all day with the chicken and have to pitch it later from the warmth of my backpack. Breakfast was good but the best was being able to try on the Hanbok, traditional Korean clothes, and get a picture.
I walked in and out of shops, not actually finding what I wanted so I decided it was time to catch a bus to the beach. Gwangali Beach was beautiful, 75 degrees and a little cloudy with a generous breeze! After all the previous sweating and melting, it was a welcomed relief for this lady. I spent about 45 minutes down at the beach and then started to walk around the shops. I found BBQ - the chicken place endorsed by BTS for the crispy friend chicken with pure coconut in the breading. I asked for a half order and waited for this chicken, sitting at a side table watching all the people walking to the beach.
The chicken arrived, same utensils as the previous night. looking just like the picture on the door and the menu. I was in love at first bite! IT was just as crunchy as the commercials and had a little spice to it that I cannot identify. All I know is that it was good and I sat there talking briefly to the husband and wife who owned this restaurant. Both in their 60′s, the husband delivers food on his scooter. The wife knew she had an internet order for delivery by the bell that rang. I watched as she would get up and go check the order and start cooking a new order. Oh Korean chicken I love you and will miss you so much when I have to leave.
Next I walked around at the shops but still did not find what I wanted to get for my kiddos. So, it was time to go get on a long bus ride to Seomyeon, the shopping district. I managed to get dropped on the opposite side of Lotte, the largest store and mall in Busan. Problem is how to get across the street as their were no walkways across this 6 lane main street. I decided to try the train station entrance since there was also on the other side. Guess what?  The entire train station below was crammed with underground shops! Such a steady stream of shoppers and commuters that you could barely make it across the way. I finally made it to the Lotte entrance and entered. Immediately I could tell this was a huge store - larger than the Hyundai Store. I would compare it to Von Maur on crack. I went up and explored all 6 floors and yet not one Kpop item anywhere to be found. I did find something called the ‘Main Event’ area where people were clamoring for items just put out at 60-90% off regular price. I watched as people bent over and squeezed in between other shoppers in a display that resembled a Blue Light Special back in the days of K-Mart. Only this was like a BLS on steroids selling Cabbage Patch Dolls for $5 instead of $35 like they were back in the day, lol. There were equal amounts of men and women fighting for the items and I was entertained just watching it all. What really amazed me were the male salesmen in the cosmetic area. One they were dressed better than me, second the smelled better than me, and third their makeup was flawless. Men both old and teenagers were all over the counters looking at moisturizer with sunblock in it, foundation to cover imperfections, and tinted lip gloss with yet more sunblock in it. Let’s face it, Korean men take good care of themselves physically and mentally. They are good with their masculinity, and were skin products to protect their skin. Why is skin care only limited to women in the rest of the world? ?Just why? Spiritually, more Korean men attend church than American men per percentage of population. So for the guys back home who want to call these guys ‘feminine’ or ‘gay; - it won’t bother these Korean men at all. They are very secure in their lives, are healthy, take care of their bodies in and out, and wear pink teddy bears embroidered on their $200 shirts. They also have a flock of women following after them as well...
Well, after the fiasco of shopping frenzied budget minded folks I was ready to get closer to the station while also window shopping along the way. I finally made it to buy my ticket back to Seoul and almost didn’t make it back in time! Seats were selling fast on all trains but this lady managed to get my economy class at 1825. That was over an hour later than what I wanted but it was better than being stuck in the station until 2100. Time for a coffee, get on free KTX internet, and write down my train and bus routes just in case I wouldn’t have internet later on when I ‘needed it’. i watched people come and go, talk, hug, laugh, run, and chat along during that hour wait. I already knew this but I have to say it again, “People are people”. They love, cry, say goodbye, give giant hugs when they see their loved ones, get married, hubbies all carry tiny babies on the trains, women rub their pregnant tummies while their husbands protectively walk besides them. What I did notice too is that Korean couples are just plain cute. The men are protective over their women, not like they are going to be robbed protective, no it’s more like caring protective? They open doors for older women, those with bags in their hands, carry the babies, ask if their girlfriend or wife is “okay” as they walk long ways, and just seem more attentive to others feelings. Maybe because this is a culture where others are supposed to be thought of first versus yourself. You see this on the buses and trains here in Korea. They have special seats for pregnant women, elderly, or handicapped. You can sit in those seats as long as their isn’t a need. I watched over the last two weeks the same scene play out over and over again - a younger person, including myself, would get up and offer their seat to a grandma/grandpa or obvious person who was not feeling well. It’s automatic, not a second thought to it, they just offered their seat immediately. Many times the elderly men would try to offer me a seat and I would nicely say “no”. The two times I did take a seat I gave it up the second a women older than me got on board. Respect for the elderly and those older than you - it’s built in, it’s taught from birth, it’s a good thing, it works and it’s amazing to witness.
Off my soapbox of Korean societal praises, don’t worry I’ll be back later lol. Long walk to line 1 to catch my train in reverse back to Taereung. Two stops away the conductor tells us all to get off because of a problem. No worries, the trains run every 6 minutes and bam, there was another train and back on schedule. Off perfectly and walked to the correct side of the station to be on the correct side of the street. Buses actually follow the flow of traffic for their routes - go figure. Only 3 stops and I was off and walking the few blocks back to the university and to my dorm building. First thing I noticed once coming outside for the bus ride? Humidity had returned to Seoul while I was gone - welcome back sweating lol. A nice shower and a made bed waiting for me. Maybe tomorrow I can get a ton more pictures uploaded for ya all. Night!

Happy Birthday Jungkookie!
The balcony doors were open and a cool breeze drifted through the bedroom. Lazy days with Jungkook were rare, even when he was on a break he was always up to something. It had reached noon but you were both still laying in bed scrolling mindlessly through your phones when you brought it up. "You're going to be 23 soon, I think we should have a big party" He put his phone down and rolled into your side, "I was thinking about going to Jeju," he said matter of factly. "Oh, am I invited?" you asked smiling. "I was going to invite everyone, my family, the guys and yes," he giggled, "I guess you can come too. Would that be okay?" Running your fingers through his messy hair you pushed it back out of his face and nodded. "You shouldn't have to plan your own party Jungkook, we can do it together"
You had a week to figure things out, guests,  accommodations, food. A party was one thing but coordinating a destination get together in a few days was a crazy undertaking.
You really wanted Kookie to have the best time and just be able to relax and enjoy himself, he however, wasn't being very co operative.
Y/N: Hey Joon, I just wanted to invite you to Kookies party in Jeju. Are you down?
Joon: Yep, already confirmed with JK last week.
Y/N: What kind of cake do you think I should get?
Joon: I thought that the guys were taking care of the cake? Don't worry about anything,  I think everything is already organized.
Y/N: Oh… okay,  thanks.
Flopping on the couch you couldn't help but feel left out. You heard Jungkook's key turning in the lock, the door squeaking open announcing his arrival. He was looking through his phone while he dropped his bag on the floor. "Hey Babe, Joon said you messaged him about the party? He walked over to where you were sitting. He tapped your nose with his finger, "I've already taken care of everything so all you have to do is pack"
Feeling disappointed your face fell into a frown. "Jungkook, I just wanted to take care of you for once, to be able to contribute a little." He looked flustered, "I'm sorry Y/N, I just didn't want to burden you with it." Upset you stood up, "I can't believe you would think that throwing you a party would be a burden on me Jungkook… it makes me feel useless," your statement trailed off as you walked away to your bedroom.
Tae was your closest confidante and you knew he'd tell it like it is.
Y/N: I know I'm probably overthinking and being too sensitive but I'm sad Tae..
Tae: What's wrong love?
Y/N: If Guk doesn't think I'm capable of throwing him a party…this is so stupid… but he certainly can't think I'd be able to take care of him as a wife… it's been two years Tae we've never even discussed marriage. Does he think of me that way at all?
Tae: Noooo Y/N,  he loves you so much. You are totally over reacting. Please, just don't make an issue of this, it's his birthday.
You didn't know but in the other room Jungkook was busy texting Jin.
JK: I don't know what to do Y/N is mad at me for not letting her help with the party.
Jin: Just make up a job and get her to do it.
JK: That's Brilliant!!  Thank you.
He made a quick call, arranging that you would be picking up the last to do on his list, the package. He pulled the bedroom door open and lay down beside you, "I'm sorry, I've been keeping a secret from you." You set down your phone giving him your full attention. "Junhyung is going to propose to his girlfriend, he swore me to secrecy, that's why I've been planning everything, so she won't find out." You felt your temper rise, "Are you fucking kidding me?  You finally get your birthday off, you haven't had a personal party for years and your brothers using it to propose to his girlfriend all while making you plan it for him?" Jungkook laughed, "It sounds kind of shitty when you put it that way. It's really not that big of a deal Y/N, I'm happy he wants to share it with everyone." How could you fault him for wanting to help his family? He was such a giving person and it was part of the reason you loved him so much. "If you really want to help there's one thing left that you can do."
It was all set, the flight was leaving at 3pm and you had been tasked with picking up the box and keeping it safe until the party. Arriving at the jeweller the older man greeted you kindly. "Would you like to see it?" he opened the iconic tiffany blue box while you nodded. It was a beautiful square cut diamond on a vintage white gold band, it was breathtaking. "The gentleman took a long time deciding on this particular ring, he said it had to be perfect. What do you think?"  Your heart was aching in your chest, lately you found yourself daydreaming about marrying Jungkook, him placing a ring just like this on your finger. "She's a lucky girl, I'm sure she's going to love it." It's not that you weren't happy about the engagement, you were just completely full on green with envy jealous. They haven't even been together a year and Junhyung is already confident enough in her to propose.
You knew you were being an idiot, Jungkook loved you, you lived together, he always made sure your needs were met but here you were upset because she was getting a ring first. Taking the box you snapped the little lid closed and put it into your purse for safe keeping. Enough, you needed to stop thinking about yourself. It was Kooks birthday and it was time to think of him and what he wanted, but what do you get someone who has everything? Wandering around you came across a neon lit sex shop, perfect! Three days away, three new sets of sexy lingerie and a bag full of goodies.  Maybe you didn't get to plan the party but you could make sure he had a few extra surprises.
It was a short smooth flight and you were amongst the last to arrive.  Making your way to the suite to change for dinner Jungkook flung himself down on the bed, "I'm calling dibs on the first shower!" you called out. You got ready putting on the new black lace thong set, loose black mini sundress over top and wrapped your hair into a messy bun.  Exiting the bathroom you found Jungkook in the same position on the bed snoring lightly. Crawling on top of him, you pulled back his bucket hat to reveal his closed eyes and pressed a soft kiss to his lips. He instinctively wrapped his arms around you and pulled you close for more. "You need to get up babe" he hummed softly into your neck, "that's the problem, I am up," he moved your hand to his bulge. Placing his hands on your ass he could feel the lace under your dress and he let out a needy moan, "Jungkook we need to go, everyone's waiting" he pouted, "but it's my Birthday." Getting off of him and laughing you couldn't help but throw it in his face, "Yes, and if I had planned this party I would have pushed dinner back so the birthday boy could have gotten his dick sucked before hand. You really only have yourself to blame Jungkook" he knew he was defeated so he rolled off the bed and sulked to the shower.  He came out about 20 minutes later skin glowing, tan hanbok pants with a white dress shirt, his hair long and fluffy. "You look amazing Guk," you walked over and hugged him sneaking a kiss onto the side of his neck. "You had your chance Y/N, now we both have to suffer all night"
You walked hand in hand to the open air dining room where most of your friends and family were waiting at beautiful white rose adorned tables. "Jungkook, did you arrange all these details?" Smiling he nodded, "Did I do good?" That dull ache hit your chest again, yes he did good, he'd planned the perfect proposal… for someone else. You kissed his cheek and lay your head on his shoulder, "I think you've pulled off every girls dream" Trying to hide your melancholy throughout dinner you stayed pretty quiet only offering small smiles instead of conversation. You didn't want to be selfish but you knew in a few hours all talk would be about weddings. The thoughtless question on everyone's lips would inevitably turn to "when are you going to take the plunge?" It usually happened at family gatherings, you'd watch them corner Jungkook and he'd awkwardly explain that one day when his career wasn't so busy you'd be able to think more clearly about it. You hated how calculated of a decision marrying you would have to be for him. Seeing how romantic he could be with the laid out gestures before you, made you question why he could do it for someone else but not you? Maybe he didn't think you were the one? Like he could hear your inner thoughts he put his hand on your thigh under the table, "What's going on, is everything ok?" He asked quietly. "Just thinking about getting you back to the room later, that's all." He kissed your cheek but you knew he didn't believe you. He seemed a little out of sorts himself, maybe this whole situation had him questioning your future as well.
"I think maybe we need a minute to talk Y/N, let's go while everyone's finishing." He took your hand and lead you away from the group  towards a private area of the beach. Sitting down in the sand he motioned for you to sit in between his legs in front of him. You sat with your back against his chest, head on his shoulder and he put his arms around you. The sun was beginning to set into a light shade of purple and orange, "I want to know why you're sad," he said it like he knew the answer but needed confirmation. "I just wish that this party was only for you, for your birthday, that it wasn't about engagements…" you were trying hard to not sound jealous but he could see through you. "How about you tell me the truth?" He kissed the top of your head. Reaching into your purse you pulled out the box and handed it to him. "This, this is what's bothering me. Jungkook…do you think that you'll ever want me to be your wife? Do we want the same things?" His arms still around you he held the box in front of you and opened it slowly, "It sure is a beautiful ring," he said. You closed your eyes, knowing it wasn't for you, "it really is," you answered softly.
"Do you really not know what I want Y/N? I love you more than anything in this world. The only thing I wanted for my birthday this year was to bring you here, to sit on this beach with my arms around you and to propose with this ring. So… you tell me, do we really want the same thing? Will you marry me?" Absolutely 100% shocked you turned to him, "Are you joking with me Jungkook?" you hit his shoulder. He laughed, "I think I know better than that" still skeptical you asked, "So all of this was a lie? You really made me carry around my own engagement ring all day thinking it was for someone else?" His grin gave away the fact that he was pretty pleased with himself, "No, you haven't said yes yet so technically it's still not yours." You crashed your lips into his as he pulled you back on top of him in the sand, "Yes"
Walking back to the restaurant the tables had been moved and outdoor furniture and candles had taken their places. Everyone was chatting and drinking until they noticed your arrival, silence fell and eyebrows raised waiting for the news. "Of course she said yes!" At Jungkook's declaration everyone cheered and the waiters came out with trays of champagne as the boys carried out a large white cake adorned with sparklers. The rest of the night was perfect, you danced in the sand as guests slowly filtered out back to their rooms for the evening. Looking around, you realized it was just the two of you left, lost in your own world. "Maybe we should call it a night?" you said. "Maybe, but I don't really want this moment to end" he responded with a kiss. "Maybe… you forgot what I'm wearing under this, and that it's also your birthday, and that I still haven't given you your gift" He grinned and pulled your hand leading you back to the room.
You left him waiting on the bed as you got ready in the bathroom. Finally revealing yourself,  you were fully naked, he whined "Babe what happened to the lingerie, I mean you're beautiful naked but… " you cut him off "But I'm not naked, I'm wearing this beautiful ring. It also just so happens that I bought you a ring too" you threw him the little black bag and he pulled out his gift. He blushed, "Oh mines a little bigger, and silicone and definitely not church appropriate." Cocking your eyebrow at him you added, "And it vibrates too. Happy Birthday Baby"
