shots from The jinx vs vi fight (part 1)
the lighting in this place really makes jinxs look like a corpse, with the ghostly pale skin and blue-purple lips. especially later when vi is about to kill her. i wonder if thats symbolism? like shes, idk, basically dead inside, or maybe its because shes suicidal and hoping she'll die here? idk
i always love the shimmer eyes
,,wait did she always have purple nails? i thought they were pink&blue only
that expression tho
she stars shooting before even aiming the gun
really love these last 2 shots goddamn
jinx looks so so heartbroken here... a mix of confusion, surprise, anger and i wanna say disappointment?
i think what we are seeing happen in this season is that jinx did not want to kill vi, but vi wants (""""wants"""") to kill her, and that is breaking jinxs heart even more. the sobbing in ep 2 when she sees vi in full enforcer get up solidifies that for me. so i think thats whats happening here too, rationally she knew vi was going there to fight and kill her and that she would have to kill vi first, and she thought she was excited for that ("to finish whats left of my family"), but when actually confronted with vi's extreme violence and anger towards her... shes sad. she doesnt want this. she doesnt want to be fighter her. she just wants her big sister to love her.

Final thoughts of Arcane’s season not from someone who just hates the ending for the sake of hating it but just feels disappointed.
Arcane puts so much attention throughout the show in the small details, I always considered it an amazing source of inspiration for storytelling which is why fumbling the last two episodes like this feels SO heartbreaking
Because how is it that by paying attention to the small details you lose sight of the bigger picture somehow?
How is it that in the end Ekko, a character who kept sacrificing so much throughout the narrative for everyone got NOTHING while the antagonist got the best ending? It feels like such a slap in the face
I can’t even happily enjoy Caitvi’s ending because of how heartbreaking it is knowing Vi in the end couldn’t even have one last conversation with her sister and they are just going to keep…. Fighting? Fighting what specifically?
Why was Maddie evil? Where did the explanation for this happened and then why would she said what she said to Vi back in Act I?
Why did we never see what exactly happen with Vander, Silco and Vi & Jinx’s mom? Why didn’t we see it maybe as a flashback when the memories were burning off Vander’s mind if it was something so important that literally was the catalyst to Silco’s and his fallout?
Why was Mel’s entire backstory relegated to like 15 minutes in ep 8 and some back and forth in ep 9 when she is literally possibly one of the most if not the most powerful mages to fight against the arcane due to her connection with it but we just? Will brush over it bc we need to wrap the ep up in 40 minutes?
Arcane s2 act 3 really dropped a Sevika poster just to say who the FUCK is that never heard of her. She can be a council member or smth in the end ig but she isn’t relevant after that cool fight scene with Cait, Jinx and Vi for reasons
And was Isha’s whole character meant to be a parallel to Jinx’s death then? What cycles is being broken? Even if the theory that Jinx is alive is true, how is the cycle necessarily broken if everyone believes her to be dead and Vi and Ekko are now reeling with the loss of yet the most important person due to the cycle? What was the symbolism in that?
Jayce honestly felt like the only concluded character arc in my opinion. Maybe you could argue Cait and Viktor too ig. But having the main two characters, Vi and Jinx, being treated like this by their own story just feels like a slap in the face and even though it wasn’t all bad, the lack of care and stumbling to deliver the narrative in the end really left a sour taste after such a beautiful series
#I hope this makes sense I am just genuinely kinda sad about it and yeah it’s a show it’s not that deep or whatever but#arcane is such an inspiration to me and my stories/characters that I just keep thinking#on things that make no sense or irked me about that closing episode that just…. make me sad#anyways it’s not that deep I’ll get over myself but rn I just needed to rant this out#arcane spoilers#arcane season 2#arcane

Boys Be Brave Eps 5 & 6 Stray Thoughts
Last week, Jeong Gi Seop continued his pursuit of Kim Jin Woo by altering himself to meet Jin Woo’s criteria, including feminizing his appearance and getting a tattoo of a mole. Jin Woo bumped into a woman that was his exact type, and he hers, in a library, and the two went on a date. However, Jin Woo was thinking about Gi Seop the whole time. It seems this young lady knows Gi Seop and hates his ass. Meanwhile, we learned that the sides were close in high school until Balgeum’s poverty got in the way and he ghosted Ji In Ho.
Episode 5: Someone I can like
Is this young Gi Seop? Was he a sickly child?
I see, he learned to fake it to keep his sister from worrying too much and then projected that onto everyone.
Kang Hye Jin is so valid. Gi Seop is ridiculously emotionally stunted and hurting people with his behavior.
Thank you, Balgeum, for telling this man to figure out his feelings and confess. He’s working my nerves.
They really wanted us to understand how poor Balgeum is by having this man use hold file cabinets for basic storage in his apartment.
I love pragmatic housewarming gifts like toilet paper.
This seems like a lot of food to order for Balgeum. He definitely wants this to go well. I’m touched.
I’d like to think Balgeum unconsciously left the socks out in the hopes that Ji In Ho would see them.
I’m really feeling Ji In Ho and the way he just wants to be around Choi Balgeum.
Kang Hye Jin joins the ranks of our Korean bisexual women holding it down in their shows.
The fact that Kim Jin Woo and Kang Hye Jin have switched swings from before feels significant.
Recognizing that they made their ideal type lists to spite Jeong Gi Seop feels like important growth for them. I also like that they were able to speak openly with each other because they feel so similar.
It’s kind of interesting how this show has put so many barriers between these two that I don’t even feel bad about this misunderstanding.
Episode 6: Realizing your feelings and confessing
I feel some kinda way about Kim Jin Woo feeling like he should have confessed. He observed Gi Seop disappoint scores of people who confessed to him.
See, this is the thing that bothered me from jump: Gi Seop knew he was leaving the country. Pushing Kim Jin Woo wasn’t a great choice. Why stir this man’s feelings just to bail on him?
This turn about recognizing that he can’t say no to people, but sees that he does like Jin Woo isn’t totally landing for me.
Hm, I am curious what they intend to do by drawing a line between the dad and Gi Seop.
I am having flashbacks to when some folks let me down and reserved tickets at the wrong theater and then didn’t tell us they changed the plan and four of us went to the wrong theater.
Oh nooo, Balgeum is embarrassed by his poverty again.
Thank you, Ji In Ho, for hugging this man and not just letting him run away again.
I wanna get Ji In Ho’s story. What feelings has he been sitting with this whole time?
Once again, trains playing an integral part in my little gay stories. Americans, take notes. Talk to your leaders. Fast and frequent buses and intercity trains will begin the process.
The episode title said this was about confessing, and only the sides confessed! This hug doesn’t count!
I am really feeling the relationship between the sides in this one. We don’t have to say gay between Choi Balgeum and Ji In Ho for me to feel it there. I am so invested in the two of them figuring out if they can work even if Ji In Ho has more prospects. However, the continued weirdness with the mains remains an emotional barrier for me. I am glad we finally got some answered about Jeong Gi Seop this week, and now I need to know what he actually wants for himself since I suspect he’s only agreed to study abroad because he was saying yes to his sister.

Dead Friend Forever ep 12 initial reaction
It’s over am I happy? Not particularly. It is interesting though. Let’s go over it and then I’ll make my rating post for the whole series
Disclaimer upfront I get triggered by blood so I did watch some scenes with my hands covering the top of the scene so maybe I missed things.
Okay so let’s get into the ep
I find it interesting that Top, Jin, and Fluke all include their ‘friends’ in their hallucinations. While White, Phee, Tee are more self solo focused. I imagine if Por was alive his nightmare scenario would be group based because he wanted to be cool or if it was solo maybe it would be man he’s a really big asshole personality wise. Probably good he didn’t live to this last scene would have been redundant or abhorrent.
So Fluke was afraid of being bullied by Top and Tee. He never really felt a hundred percent with the group. I find it telling that Por and Non convince him to take his eyes out because people felt like he had no guilt for both of their deaths. Realistically if Fluke had stood up to Top and Tee when the camera got broken I do think because Fluke and Por were good friends Por might have believed Fluke over Top but maybe not. Por was an asshole. But him doing anything in the other scenes won’t have really helped. He didn’t have any power in the group dynamic. He wasn’t even particularly close to Jin the reason they both found non and the teacher was because they were in the same class.
I started to get suspicious we might be in dream sess for Top’s he’ll scape. 1 idk how he is still alive 2 he’s still very much on drugs anyways. Also the fear of being betrayed by his friends them not listening to him was an interesting motivation. We saying top was a people pleaser I guess? Idk I wanted more from his character. Did find it poetic he and Fluke offed each other when their fears were so routed in their friendships their bonds. Then that’s what threw them down the stairs.
Tee 😭😭😭😭 even in the nightmare trying to help Non over and over trying to give him hope. Trying to do all that he could. Trapped and trying his best. Shows that he deeply fundamentally didn’t want to be a bad guy. A caged animal tortured animal doesn’t run when you open the cage you have to show it the way out first. I think Tee was hoping seeing Non escape would mean he could go for his freedom too. I cried during his and White’s scene. Also how beautiful are they? I hope Tee survives
Once again I think something bad happened to White to make him feel like he’s dirty that he’s automatically a slut for making friends. Yes Tee gets jealous but I won’t say it’s abnormally so White puts that pressure on himself. He desperately wanted to be Tee’s above all else a very sweet motivator. I once again cried watching what happened. I’m glad Tan had second doubts about his death at least.
Jin stalker/unhealthy obsession? Idk it’s just what the TV imagery and the cell phones make me think of Because my mind goes to BTS Suga’s solo MV for Shadow. Jin’s certainly ashamed of what he did. He also had his friends in there saying he was scared they’d hate me. Very interesting. Jin is MAJORLY insecure. He values his perception and hates who he really is and the pleasure he desires. I was disappointed to see him still alive but then again if he had that injury I was curious if he would survive just based on blood loss to the hospital. Really really hated the visuals on that so… maybe I missed something
Found it heartbreaking that New’s Non was a good little brother. Ugh I can’t imagine losing my sister and this scene really hurts. That New has done all this shit but deep down he knows what New really felt about him and New’s scared he’s done the wrong thing.
Found it sus we see New die of a gut injury when the shot hit his shoulder. But was sweet that Non came back to thank him in his head. A good end although doubting it happened.
Wow Jin being the human one in this scene of the future. I guess he’d be an idealized version of Jin.
Uhhhhh yes? In that Tee would need to accept what happened and seek help. But also no? Phee showing his double standard here. Phee didn’t you just learn you would have been there for Non if you could? Well if Tee was suffering like that Phee you should visit him even if it’s hard it’d be his duty. Phee is partly responsible for what happened. Phee you can care about people you ain’t fucking and or their family members. It’s okay to have friends naturally and support them.
Season 2!!!! Big reveal? So how much of this ep was a dream?? Whole thing? From when new used the gas? I also wonder would New’s protections for himself actually work? Yes he has those cure smoke things but the nightmare stuff is still in everything. I would like it if maybe Non had survived and some how drugged them all? I don’t think he did but 9th person Mr Keng? Non? White? Steps in and all of this outcome has been Phee’s interpretation of the truth ep 12? Maybe idk. I can’t wait for season 2

pluto ep 1, a few comments I had as I went through the episode
spoilers ahead
It's giving last twilight vibes, atleast for a moment it did. Like I should keep my expectations up there but then Idk for sure. I hope it doesn't disappoint. Maybe it was just seeing Namtan in a wedding dress.
Ai-Oon and Oaboom remind me of Black and White from Not Me the series.
I like Ai-Oon, she seems nice. Until she's not?
Oh, I'm loving Namtan so much.
Two words: Interestingly sad.
Why would you ever run to the person you just met who is supposedly your sister's girlfriend and who you obviously have something for (seeing as you kissed her back) and/or could be behind your sister's fatal accident? (Even if she didn't die yet.)
If everything is happening so fast and in just the first episode, what do we have for the rest of the series?
The chemistry is CHEMISTRY-ING mannnnn.
May is so adorable.
Please don't do anything more, my heart can't bear it. It's too much for me.
But what if she's a psycho?
My expectations were pretty low, this stuff is good.

So what’s your final opinion of Disventure Camp All-Star now that it comes to a end?
Also regarding winner, you are right! They didn’t go with “Who deserved to win” and tons of fans are piss off.
and so we have made it to the end. dcas is officially over... sobbing a lil at that fact. now. finale rambles under the cut (tldr: 7/10 season):
i think dcas was pretty nice for what it gave. i know a lot of people think it's shit, and i do nod my head at most concerns i've seen through posts on here and elsewhere. but idk. i had a relatively good time these past couple of months while watching!
let's start with...
Things I Liked:
The Main Premise (and in extension, Riya's Story) — this season showed that it truly wasn't about who deserved to win, it was about who wanted it most. and riya wanted it badly, to the point where it changed her for the worst whenever a camera was around. it took me until ally's elimination to see the direction this season was going (so... basically near the end LOL), but once it clicked, i was like. wowie. this is a bold choice of a winner. and interesting as fuckkkk, despite it not being hinted at as much as i hoped it would near the beginning. i don't think i've ever seen someone who is deemed as a villain be the only winner of a show like this. no alt endings or anything, just a villain win that sort of translates into a loss when you really think about how nobody is in riya's corner anymore. i know people (mostly riya fans) were disappointed with how sad and slightly open ended riya's conclusion arc was, but i personally can't be that upset at it. rosa maria's message during her elimination in season 2 really hit here. riya let the game change her, and though she won three million dollars, she has absolutely nobody (except potentially her sister eesha, but even still, that's not the best way for things to end for her). tis the way the cookie crumbles. i'm glad the writing team decided to go with this instead of the jake ending like thank GOODNESS for the proofreaders omg this is what proofreaders are for!!! (also. i'm clearly biased to the 'faking in front of cameras/others just to become a realer version of oneself once that's tested' characters in particular. look at my icon rn. i think you can understand why i'm such a big fan of this)
Allyson Amber— obligatory ally mention LOL. i think i already rambled enough on why i love ally so so so much as a character, so i will avoid. today. just know that opinion still stands.
Voice Acting— i am not a voice actor, just a voice actor enthusiast, so idk how much my words truly mean here. but i absolutely loveeeee the vocal direction this season went. best vocal performance in the whole series thus far. i can tell each actor + anybody on the voicing team worked hard to deliver! each character's voice really fit and everyone is so talented. hashtag i love connecting voices to characters. i'm excited for s4 voices ahhhh <3
The Grett + Gabby Friendship— we had her for like a good two eps and it still solo'd. going from what had happened in season 1 to what happened in season 3 was chef's kiss. it showed that both grett and gabby grew as characters throughout their whole journey on dc. idk i just love their bond so much, hashtag thank you for adding that.
and now...
Things I have Mixed Feelings About:
Gabby and Ally's Elimination— am i that mad that they ultimately left? eh not really, especially after i learned what type of story onc was aiming to tell this season. but am i mad about how they left? absolutely. because it was bullshitttttt omg. last minute, out of nowhere changes that cause eliminations of characters will never fail to piss me off. personally. even if real life is unfair like this too. (i'm only human LOL let me live)
TomJake Plot-Line— the good news (?) is that i don't find it absolutely mind-numbingly awful anymore. jake's cool. tom's okay. so overall, now i just think the plot is thee definition of mid. improvement! but still mid! i think certain ships in media are not for me, and this is one of em. sorry tomjakers, they should have had a meaningful conversation a long ass time ago. (also why tf they the finale thumbnail like MOVEEEEE with yall yaoi moment /lh)
Connor's Marriage— not that big of a deal, props to connor for finallyyyyyyy retiring from his savior complex (like i genuinely clapped for him cause that was a LONGGGGGG time coming), but a record scratch DID go off in my head when i saw that lol wedding pic. like OH... okay! congrats? i guess? (idek why i had this reaction or why i'm even writing about it lol, connor is Just Okay to me so)
Certain Lack of Character Interactions— i know this is a parody of reality TV and the show can only do so much, especially for characters that got eliminated early on. and i know i can quite literally go on something like ao3 and either find some fic that caters to my tastes or create it myself. but i frowned a lil when i realized certain characters wouldn't talk that much canonically. the curse of an all stars season is that they're bringing back some of the best characters this series has to offer. so when i don't get to see them interact, i go "aww. fair. but aww." (biggest examples here would be grett and hunter during the returnee challenge (because they can serve as interesting parallels (why would they finally make me gaf about hunter just to make him have like 30 seconds of lines ugh onc i am GLARING)), and jake and tess in general (the slightly healed meets the destructive work in progress. the difference in mental health journeys and how they can reflect within gameplay + outside convos. we coulda squeezed a lil somethin here. for me.))
Ellie's Plot-Line— one of the main reasons why i found ellie so compelling as a character is because the choices she made, both good and bad, all connected with her need for money due to being a college student who's not that well off. so to see that written off at the end was... well. eh? like cool, she's got gabby and grett, and they do matter the most, and i loveeeee their bond, but like. girly is a student in nyc and losing all that money is fucking huge. (i think it's mostly the bad pacing here, so i'm not giving it too much critique)
Grett's Plot-Line— onc introduced that whole tree scene (one of my fav scenes btw), and i thought that was so inspiring. "oh my gosh, i can't wait to see grett shine after she was constantly disrespected by some fucker that should have gotten his ass beat a long ass time ago!" i exclaimed. and then, she was eliminated. look. i get the whole premise of this season. i like it, too. so even though i think grett deserved to win the most, i can understand why the writers didn't have her win. BUT i think they should have written her arc with way more care and attention. if anything, i remember more harmful moments than good. grett deserved better than that. to me.
Huntally Plot-Line— i like huntally. and i wish it was written a bit better. it felt... rushed in comparison to other things we've seen here. granted, they couldn't do as much as others when hunter was eliminated so quickly, but still. meh overall.
and finally...
Things I Didn't Like:
The Staffs' Plot-Line— yall. the way i grew to not give a singular fuck about this plot... i saw people complain about tomjake screen time or jake screentime or ally vs jake screentime or connor vs riya screentime or riya screentime. which, okay whatever i guess. but LOOK AT THE REAL CULPRITS HERE... they're already getting a spinoff, idgaf about some staff when i won't be able to see some of the contestants ever again after this season!!! trevek irritated the absolute hell outta me, kristal made me side eye, marcus, nina and oliver were there i guess, and emily? man. i think that alone needs another bullet point hold on-
Emily's Plot-line (if you can even call it that)— yes, yes, i already know, emily was terrible, this was shown in the very first ep, she was never supposed to be rooted for, blahblahblah. but why. why did she decide to help yul. why did she decide to help trevor. why is she helping men so much. why did she turn so cartoonishly evil in the end. why is she like that. it's so uncanny to me. it just feels like she's more of a plot device that she is a character, which makes her fall so fucking flat. it blows. to me.
The Therapist Characters— ashley and tess are the biggest examples of this. not to say that friends irl don't ask this question, but fuck, did i get tired of hearing "are you ok?" or "what's wrong?" or "here let me give you some advive." it feels like such a reduction of their characters, which really sucks considering they didn't get much characterization in comparison to other characters in the first place.
"Be the Bigger Person, Ally"— okay. the more i think about this the more it pisses me off. this is a quote from episode 18, where connor tells ally to be the bigger person in her whole situation with jake. now riddle me this, chat. why is it that connor only tells ally to be the bigger person, then a few minutes later when talking to jake, he goes "oh there's only so much i can accomplish with jake" in the confessional? you didn't even reiterate the same words old man. that makes it seem like ally should do more and adjust what she deems as okay and not okay, just so her tension with jake can dwindle, while jake gets a sigh and a slap on the wrist and a "welp i tried." despite her more immature reactions later on during this plot, ally had every right to be bitter toward someone who kept snapping at her and giving her attitude because no good communication was being used to explain why he kept doing that. instead, i wish the message could have been something like "communicate, then try to insert yourself in their shoes so you can understand each other better because you're more alike than you think" to BOTH ally and jake, because this conflict involves BOTH of them, and needs to be worked on by BOTH of them, not just by one damn party. (i could dive into shit like the sexism connotations of the message "be the bigger person" only being directed to the female character here, but ehhhh, not today + people would think i'm overreacting when i know i'm not)
Yul— look, even if i put the whole slur slinging slanger incident that occurred to the side, i still was not a fan of how yul was portrayed here for that long. idgaf if he's sometimes funny. it just made me feel uncomfy seeing such a disrespectful piece of shit get this far with a burn to the face that didn't even stay permanently. like oh so emily can be in bandages for "a year or two," but bigot mcgee here gets off burn free? okay. don't piss me off. and yes, i understand his sponsorship ending where he's still acting fake because "it doesn't matter to him whether he's liked or not," and i know he serves as an okay parallel to james at best. but personallyyyyy if we were going with the whole "yul is the worst type of famous person imaginable" angle, you could have at least made the consequences of his actions stick to his face forevermore. (that's like the only thing they got right with endeavor from my hero like come on)
and that's about it. i think. overall, i'd give this season a solid 7. i know it looks like there's more stuff i didn't like or felt indifferent about, but i just feel like i have to explain my distastes a little more so people can understand me pfft. but yeah, it's not too bad of a season, even if i side eye some things.
and i'm looking forward to season four! from what i've seen, from the short character dialogues in the voice acting tryouts (ruby save me), to the potential storyboarded scene of the setting (abandoned carnival vibes???), i am most certainly sat. i really hope onc improves from here on out :)
#ok. i think that's all my thoughts. definitely subject to change tho!#i'm not proofreading this essay LOL just lmk if anything doesn't make sense and i'll get back to it 😭#ask quackle#hhytheking

have you watched game of thrones and/or house of the dragon?? if so, who are your favs?
me, with Daenerys plastered all over my blog: no, I have not seen the show and I don't have any favourites
lmao
I have seen the original GoT but I haven't seen House of The Dragon yet. I really want to watch it, but again - I need to be the right headspace to watch something new and I HAVE NOT been in the right headspace lately. But I have seen so many gifs of Alicent all over my dash and I KNOOOW I just know that when I watch the show, she is gonna hit all my fav character points (sad backstory, big sad wet eyes, repressed queerness, many parent issues, etc.) so expect 20 Alicent fics to flood your space as soon as I do watch HOTD
It's so funny, because I watched GoT TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE FINALE AIRED. My sister and her then gf were so into GoT and they watched all of S7 and S8 as it was airing in our living room and FOR WEEKS they tried to convince me to watch it, and I did not give a single fuck. And they watched the Battle of Winterfell on full fucking blast while I was trying to sleep, and I was like "can you not" and they were like "well this is important and blah blah" and I was like "well if you're gonna watch the show well I'm trying to sleep this damn loud then I guess I'll just fucking watch it too" and they were like "no, you have to start from the beginning because there's lore"
SO THEY ANNOYED ME INTO WATCHING IT
so I watched 7 whole seasons (and like 6 eps of Season 8) like a week before the finale aired. and as you may know from the reputation and content of Season 8, I was sorely disappointed and MAD very quickly
the show as a whole is a really great show and I am so mad that they fumbled the ending SO BADLY. but I do really love rewatching the show and then not watching S8 <3
and as far as my favourite characters:
(and I need to write fanfiction about all these characters. and I do have a bunch of unfinished GoT fanfiction in my drafts lmao)
DAENERYS TARGARYEN !!!!!!!!! my queen, the true queen, the only and only queen. in my head, she ended S8 on the Iron Throne and peace was restored and everyone was happy and that's it
Sandor Clegane - strangely one of my favs. I really want to write fics about him. he is one of those perfect "mean and cold, but turns out to be somewhat 'good'" characters that is SO MUCH FUN and I love his backstory and the way he is with Sansa and Arya (also, "someone is gonna die for some fucking chickens" lives in my head rent free forever)
Jojen Reed - I have more bias toward him because he's played by TBS. but we love a disabled/chronically ill king. and he inspired my all time favourite quote in the whole series "just because some people will always need help, doesn't mean they aren't worth helping"
Sansa Stark - again, queen. I love the arc she went through and her ending on the show is one of the only good ones. she is one of the only satisfying characters in S8, but I love her the whole way through because even though she starts out as a terrible ignorant brat, it makes her transformation so much more satisfying
Arya Stark - every time she's on screen, I cheer. I love her so much
Tyrion Lannister - king. he is clever and unironically sexy. last year when I was rewatching GoT, one of my favourite 'falling asleep to this' fanfic fantasy ideas was an in depth storyline with Tyrion as the love interest. I want to write fanfiction for him so badly. the moment when he gave Bran the disabled riding saddle was the moment I fell in love with him and it was just hits from there
PODRICK !!!!! - canonically gets bitches and supposedly the only person who knew how to make a girl cum (canon)??? HE'S ICONIC AND I LOVE HIM
Jon Snow - he knows nothing, but he is sexy. I definitely need to write a fic about him. sterling morals, heroism, and canon pussy eater. what's not to love
Ygritte - she is That Bitch. I love her. I need her biblically
TORMUND !!!!!!!!! - "before you stick ya prick inside her, you gotta get her slick as a baby seal" - and that was when I knew I needed him Sexually. I have a Tourmund fic in my drafts lmao
Birenne - she called Jamie a spoiled brat to his face and then fought a bear with her cleavage out. I need to fuck her
Missandei - she is pretty and adorable and she could tell me to fuck off in 17 different languages. I love her so much
Greyworm - I love him so much I cannot even put it into words omg
Gendry - sweaty tits. that is all

The Fall of the House of Usher
Anon #1: I first read Poe's 'The Fall of the House of Usher' 15 years ago as a teen and I have been in love with it ever since. When I saw the promo stills and read the synopsis last month for the show that just came out, I was a bit weirded out by the modernized vibe in the stills, but seeing it called an 'anthology' and that it would explore multiple stories by Poe, I thought that we might just get the actually story of the House of Usher in one or two eps, just a bit quirky and... well, modernized. So I was still excited. It took me 5 min in the tag last week to realize they had completely screwed up the story. I didn't even doubt my assessment to go 'oh look, I was right after all' now that I've read on this blog that people who watched it were hugely disappointed.
I am still baffled that they could mess this up. It's literally one short story involving a mansion, the owner, his dead sister, the first-person POV guest, and the irrefutable incest in the owner and his not-so-dead-after-all sister's family tree. I'm sure someone served the owner and the guest dinner. I don't even remember their existence for them to be an important presence in the story. Seriously how can you screw this up?
Anon #2: When it comes to House of Usher, I’ve only seen the Vincent Price one. They don’t have the incest be canon (made in 60s and all), but it did seem to be implied. Also, wow, I didn’t realize how many adaptations there were of that story!
@leopard-skin-pillbox-hat-ok: I was watching House of Usher thinking about the future ship (Madeleine x Roderick) that I would be obsessive about it… imagine my surprise when there’s absolutely nothing there! 💀
@winterborn-muse: Netflix's "Fall of the House of Usher" may not be canon but in my opinion it's definitely shippable. Especially in their younger years/flashback scenes. One in particular... phew.
----
Previous discussion here.
I finished watching The Fall of the House Usher so I can finally answer these asks.
It's crazy how different it is from the original story. I almost wonder if Flanagan came up with the story and then added in the Poe elements later, maybe even after it was already written. I think it's only called "The Fall of the House of Usher" because that's such an awesome title and everyone knows it. And also because Hollywood is scared no one will watch something original. There was obviously no attempt made to adapt the story itself (or the other Poe stories), except superficially.
I didn't mean that to sound too negative, because although I am disappointed this wasn't what it might have been, I thought it was fairly entertaining and well written. It just wasn't what I was hoping for, and what I made the mistake of expecting. The premise of solid, I just wish it hadn't masqueraded as something else. Also, the "House of Usher" title just doesn't have the same power or vibe when Roderick and Madeline are really the first generation, and then there's Roderick's kids and 1 grandchild and that's all.
The Vincent Price version being coy about the incest is understandable. Why Mike Flanagan didn't take the opportunity to include incest here is baffling. I can only think that he didn't want anyone to accuse him of copying Game of Thrones. But even leaving the original story aside, in which incest was implied, look at the potential here: rich, decadent family with lots of siblings? Sibling matriarch and patriarch bonded by a traumatic childhood and murder?
Roderick and Madeline are definitely not canon at all in this version (if it can be called that?), but I completely agree that they were shippable. They were very close, life partners really, and seemed to love each other more than they loved anyone else.
I love the gift of the jewels that Roderick got for Madeline because it was so thoughtful and showed how well he knew her, on top of how expensive and difficult it was to get. He basically called her a goddess.
But the flashbacks were agreeably the best stuff. Obviously when Roderick and Madeline were sharing a bed:
Not that that's the craziest thing in the world after what they had just been through.
Then you've got Madeline not liking Roderick's wife, and Roderick's wife not liking Madeline.
I think they were also called "king and queen" once and Roderick is referred to as Gatsby and Madeline as Daisy.
Plus just the whole deal, the way Carla Gugino's character makes a deal with them together, and treats them as a single unit, and says they'll die together just like they came into the world together.
So at least there was some very shippy stuff.
But man oh man, the wasted opportunities here. smh

Honestly I’m kind of disappointed with ep 7 (SPOILERS)
I’m all for some of the plot stuff that happened but most of it didn’t feel necessary considering the fact that this is the penultimate episode of the series. The fight scenes and flying looked really great and were fun but I didn’t need it to take up the episode. I’m really nervous after this episode that nothing will get fully wrapped up next Tuesday. I have a feeling Ezra won’t get to reunite with Hera and meet Jacen unless it’s a 5 second hug. From my view the only way they get back home is if they take the ring from Thrawn. But they don’t even seem to have a plan. Ezra is still in the dark with how Sabine found him. I feel like the Night Sisters are irrelevant at this point. There is no explanation of what the “cargo” that they are carrying is.
I think that this is the weakest episode so far. Which is really scary going into the finale. Typically there would be some cliffhanger or massive situation our protagonists are stuck in to set up the pace and excitement of the conclusion. The ending of this episode left us almost exactly where we were last week. Just with Ahsoka now part of the group.
There were things I liked about this episode for sure too!!!
Baylan abandoning Shin is perfect for setting up a flip to the light to help our heroes in a deadly situation.
C3-PO are you KIDDING ME!!! That was a great way to bring Leia in…And Anthony Daniels gets his cameo!!!
Chopper being ready to destroy the guy for badmouthing droids was peak chop!!
ZEB MENTION (even tho I’m not sure how I feel about him just training pilots. It feels like he would either want to be in his home world with his hubby Kallus or being close to Jacen and Hera. But it is what it is)
The Anakin speech really hit me. It reminded me of Tales of the Jedi training Anakin!!!
Thrawn really felt like Thrawn with his speech about Ahsoka and being “one step ahead” That’s his thing and why he’s so scary and I’m so glad they were able to do that!!!
Anyways I feel like this episode just fell so flat compared to the others and didn’t hype me up for Tuesday at all.

I wanna go play outside but its 9 pm on a weekday
LK 113: Are we Turtley Enough For the Turtle Club
(pt1)(pt2)(pt3)(pt4)(pt5)
Another legendary episode.
Number one, gotdamn that is alot of fuckin troops. Number two, it still tickles me that General Howe and Admiral Howe are bros. Foot Bro and Water Bro.
Just fucking bursts in on her without knocking. Also what is that I see????
She canonically has a hat???
I'm assuming its supposed to be one of these hats because its 1776, but it looks like one of these 1780s hats:
I think its called a gainsborough hat? Anyway now I want to draw 1780s Sarah with one of these wacky hats. Unfortunately that does mean I need to draw 1780s hair which is somehow worse than 1770s hair, which is hard to do.
I meannnnn its a nice chair, I don't blame him.
Girl is so excited to be doing jOuRnALiSm with her crush also fuck me now I want cookies
noooooo she left the mystery hat!
She got all excited for a story and then it was a Nessie sighting.
His day is ruined and his disappointment is immeasurable.
He has Old Man McGucket energy.
"Buddy you done fucked up."
lol he almost took out Henri there
Look, I know they were trying to make her seem bitchy about this, but I think we'd all have the same reaction.
He is 100% going full Mulder to your Scully, Sarah.
He wants to believe.
...James what are you implying.
Okay weird timeout here but did they change the art department for the last few episodes? Because this one seems different. I compared the last few eps to the pilot, too, and it also had more detailed backgrounds, more consistent proportions with anatomy and the style guide in the animations, more interesting shots, and overall better quality. Its like they pulled the second string artists in for the last few (sorry guys) and then the primary team came back from PTO.
"I see two dumb bitches rowing a boat."
Okay the voice acting is also getting better in this ep.
Stop ruining their night, Scully.
Full disclosure this was one of the episodes I was able to watch before my sister came in and demanded I change the channel, and 11-year-old me thought this was the funniest line.
*snicker* thats what - *snicker**snicker* That's what she said *snicker*
The writing's better, too? Why did they bring their A-game to the dick-joke submarine episode.
youtube
...These were contemporaneous shows so I would totally believe that the people who made this were making X-files jokes the whole time.
You just know this was somebody's early-00s steampunk awakening.

Spoilers for Fire & Blood/HOTD. Theory, Aegon & Larys & Alicent-related
There have been a lot of theories about Aegon’s death. Of course, Larys is involved one way or another, but it has been theorized that Alicent could be involved as well, either simply being aware of Larys’ plans and allowing it, being the one to prompt Larys to kill him, or straight up orchestrating his death herself, in all cases Larys willingly taking the fall for it. I thought of another variant, however…
As per my dinner scene analysis, realizing that Alicent would exile her child if they dishonored the crown, aka emotionally distance herself from a situation and cut ties to do what is “just”, is what makes Larys’ interest in her deepen, makes their relationship shift so strongly yet subtly when he causes the fire of Harrenhal. With killing his family, he shows her that he, too, could look beyond his attachment to the people in his life, his family, kinslaying, if it were what the crown demanded. In that moment he tells Alicent that “she will know how to reward him, when the time is right”… By doing the same thing herself later on.
Because in that moment Alicent stating she would harshly but duly punish her child if the situation required it bears a lot of weight, both of them in that scene take it seriously and as truth. However, in the latter half of second one, we see Alicent fail in that prospect. She is extremely upset with his raping and daily frustrated and disappointed at his frivolous and undignified behavior and activities, but when push comes to shove… She gives him a marriage with his sister, she gives him the crown. She still cares for him, still puts his life above hers as she places herself between him and the dragon. That doesn’t feel to me like someone who would exile him, even if he were to deserve it and it was needed, not without push and conflicted and upset feelings, anyways. Which finally brings me to my theory:
Alicent will be in on it, but only reluctantly, after Larys talks her into it. That is when he brings in her debt to him, and he would call what he’s asking of her an equal pay. Kinslaying for kinslaying. She’d be crying and he’d be softly walking her through the logic of it, doing it for the kingdom blabla, all while repeating her old words back at her. Poetic parallelism and callback. Recalling her sturdy moral stance of severing ties with her child if it was needed, the almost promise-like way it was stated with. “She’ll know the time is right to reward him”, indeed, it feels like the right and only time for such a grave debt to be repaid. She eventually relents and helps/he obtains her support, even if it is just in passivity. With all the horrors that the war and his reign brought on, like Helaena’s death, it’s not hard to imagine how Alicent could end up agreeing that it’s for the best. Its use could just be in getting the occasion or way to approach him conveniently and set his poisoning all up. Maybe she’s the one to give the wine bottle to him, his favorite kind, in an effort to soften his death, wanting to make dying sweeter on her child in a last show of affection and weakness. So yeah, really simple, but I hadn’t seen the take “Alicent is in the plan to kill Aegon but reluctantly and Larys had to talk her into it” yet.
I find this especially plausible because of how that means he viewed his relationship with Alicent. When she says she wouldn’t let her judgement be clouded is really when Larys stops acting as much around her, immediately his attitude shift, then he shows her his secret horrific acts and shares his unusual unsettling ideology, everything in the Driftmark ep, etc. Once he has this new tidbit of information about her, he abandons himself to her, and I find that very interesting. Of course, he already had his plans and uses for her, but that statement of hers, that showing a similar ideology, makes him see more options, realizes that she will make for an even better asset than he previously thought. She could become a much more direct ally and agent in his plans, not only indirectly having a hand in his schemes through her support and ressources but through her own acts in tandem with his will. He has less manipulation to do because she already shares the groundwork ideology that will be helpful to him. But in the same beat, it opens the door for him to have more true, deeper relationship with her and so, manipulates her more in a way. He doesn’t have to choose between his affection for her or his plan; she is part of that plan. I think he’d be the kind to blur personal and professional relationship like that if she were to become more innately tied in to his plans, he’d feel less restricted, more comfortable that the plan won’t derail, lets himself love her more and deepen their personal relationship. Hence why he guards his behavior less and shows his desire for her openly. It becomes a long game in a different way than it was. The fire of Harrenhal wasn’t something he had planned previously, not “for her benefit” like this anyways, so it still goes to show that his plan does change suddenly sometimes and he adapts to it; he hadn’t planned to let Alicent in on his darker facets up until then, but it made sense to him to show himself to her then and now it changed things. In summary, she’s an investment, his business and his loving behavior coexist without interfering with each other, and the realization that he doesn’t have to fear such interference from her is what makes him so simpy for her. Excited for her aiding him in the future, even. Sorry for the word vomit above, I lost this whole theory post once and I forgot how to phrase it well… Or, maybe Alicent does end up being the one to ask Larys to kill him, but in that case it’d be a result of the corruption arc she went through with his guidance being fruitful. So, still a result of his investment in that way, accomplishing the same concept for the Larys relationship dynamic I am thinking of.
The flower bears its fruits.

me and my sister were watching ofmd 2 last night and it was supposed to last an hour and a half but with all our pausing and losing our shit it took us 3 hours 😭 how did you find the first 3 eps i loved everything so much except the pirate queen i was actually warming up to her but idk she looks like a tiktoker in the middle of everyone else being dirty and grubby her face is always spotless
I wasn’t as excited for OFMD as I was GO…it actually took me a few hours to finally watch it whereas I hunkered down with GO the second it came out. Because no matter how good OFMD is, GO will always have my heart just because it hits my interest areas more.
But after watching the first three episodes I’m feeling the hype! They were so good, and I watched them all twice. I’m obsessed with the end of episode 3. It’s so good.
I actually loved Zheng Yi Sao! I’m disappointed that she has to be thrown into crushing on a guy and possibly a straight romance plot, but whatever. I’m not too mad about her being spotless, because after all she’s a pirate queen. It makes sense to me that she’d be more taken care of than everyone else. We had the same thing with Stede in season 1, where he was pristine among everyone else’s grubbiness. Usually I’d do a sexism analysis but I feel safe saying that it’s a status thing, here.
The real disappointment is the women pirates not having armpit hair. I know historical accuracy is out the window but c’mon. You can’t claim to be a super duper progressive show but be scared of female body hair.

"live" blogging s7, vol 1 (some analysis, some jokes lol)
first off, I totally forgot there were other casa amor girls so opening the app to see them on the banner I was like oooo
the S7 MC isn't too bad art wise, like it's definitely better than I thought with the preview, but
I do think the skinnier size MC is super skinny and the bigger one is not that much bigger, which is a little disappointing (always appreciate more size inclusion). ideally I think there would be one more size up i think but I do understand that means they'd have to fix all the clothes 3 times.
speaking of clothes they've always been bad at the beginning of the season since like s4 and this is no exception. I wish we got more options in the beginning and then the others they tack on later
the skin tones really are only three shades with each having one warmer variation, which is kind of nice to have people get that option in tone, but I do still wish there were more shades variation in between (and darker ones in general)
for absolutely no reason I have decided that my MC is also gonna be the S5 MC from my first playthrough getting a second chance after a second failed relationship with Suresh (let's just pretend she didn't win her season lol) and she's cute in this style (but again i wish we had the right skin tone for her). I guess if fusebox is backing out of bringing back Eddie then I'm bringing my MC
Her name is Junie and she's doing a lot better now mentally and has gained a little bit of healthy weight and finally loves herself now so fusebox better not make an embarrassment out of her again.
this actually works out pretty well bc usually the casa amor girls on the show arrive at the same time unless something is special about one of them who can show up separately like MC does here (ok fine I've only seen that happen in LI USA S5 and I guess s6 of the game)
Ep 1
Bonnie being an LI feels solely like penance for me thinking Iona was hot but sad she wasn't even a friend really let alone an LI in s3 so thank you but for narrative purposes I'm making Junie straight
Uma is gorgeous
also fusebox is not beating the reused assets allegations even those poses are just too eerily familiar
"I wanna try the slow burn" *has war flashbacks to the Ozzy route I never finished*
short king raf
ok Alex picking MC when Summer was flirting so hard is actually very funny to me
I understand bc it's a gem choice i didn't pick that we didn't get the last card but very funny that they were like we're just not gonna give Summer a chance at all actually
Let's goooo confirmed Joyo is Indonesian (I'm filipino so i was hoping filipino so I could draw him singing karaoke but I am here for any southeast Asian representation at all 🥳)
however I am upset with the use of "rizz" again. maybe once or twice but if they do it again I'm rioting
Alex nerding out is so cute. also who wouldn't want a bob the builder boyfriend for home improvement projects lol
am i too old to understand what normcore is?? like I barely understand e-girl aesthetic but there's more??
Bryson and his sister Jess have the most realistic sibling relationship from the last two seasons bc I also would mess with my brother's partners. and I once again am mourning the idea of a protective brother slow burn storyline in s6 instead of whatever Amelia was doing
"I won't bore you with the details" no pls do it I wanna know and I don't wanna pay the gems
all the guys have great personalities so far and idk if it's because I'm paying attention more this time or it's just better but oh no I'm falling for all of them
the drama set up with the guys and their partners is promising writing (namely the triangle with Geri, Bryson, and Joyo but maybe just because im torn between those two anyway) I'm shocked but cautious it's episode 1 lol
ep 2
early doors?
the gem party outfit is so 2013 disney channel, I actually will be taking the free outfit
wait why is it not night time for truth or dare why did they change clothes lol
joyo, get out of here with the graphic tee and blazer combo. Maybe this is why Bryson doesn't like you, and it'd be justified (tbf him being a bad dresser has been established already though)
oh God I didn't see his pants too jfc let him borrow some clothes
I'm into the frenemy relationship with Summer, like there's always a female villain in the game and they're almost always entertaining to me at the beginning (minus maybe Kat and Ivy)
I'm warming up to the all the guys like how can you pick
I'm starting to realize I personally have a problem because I always go, at least initially, for the chefs/foodies (Jake, Bobby, Camilo, Roberto) and I like Bryson rn and I think my MC would go for Bryson based on how I played her in s5 but I'm slowly inching over to Joyo and honestly i see the vision for Bobby clone I mean Raf and it is absolutely bc they've mentioned cooking
stop talking about feet pls not again
I expect this from Summer but Uma coming over to try to steal my man?? I appreciate her boldness though and at least she's not going behind anyone's back
ep 3
as someone who doesn't have the modded app and will not pay real money for gems, I feel very happy with choosing to eavesdrop on the guys' conversation. I feel like usually a lot of the gem scenes aren't worth it but this one is fun
Joyo does skincare but can't dress and Bryson is a fashion expert but makes fun of skincare. If they joined forces they'd be unstoppable, thank God they hate each other
hey what the fuck happened to cassius
so in summary im pleasantly surprised and hyped for this season at the moment. and lastly, pls don't drop the ball on stick or twist again please please pleaseeee

greysanon again and tysm for answering i love talking about this stupid show lmao
okay agree about s12 it’s actually my ideal end point for the show after s8 and the magmeldith (i love maggie—she’s over hated and all the hate is over shit other characters would easily get away with but they come down extra hard on the black woman for some reason🤨—and im a sister lady chief stan idc that it’s corny i loved how snarky and close and fun they were in this season) everyone finally moved on from the derek stuff and they’re all learning now to be okay again it’s so good and endearing🥺
yeah! simone is so adorable and kind! she even made lucas tolerable but he’s annoying af and drags her down. he needs to leave her alone and they need to write in a new guy for her that adores her. honestly wish lucas was leaving the show and not yasuda but greys loves to disappoint.
speaking of yasuda, why has the chemistry between her and jules been so good these last couple of eps lol like when they woke up together the energy was giving GAY lol. they should bang before she leaves for good honestly
same for amelia and beltran who finally acknowledged the thing between them. i still don’t see sparks but i was charmed by beltran this week (spoilers for ep8) and i loved that amelia asked her out. idk why she’s always attracted to these emotionally unavailable women (addison is my top 5 greys women but sorry to say ive never sparks between her and any of the other women except maybe callie? i just don’t get a femslash vibe from her at all she gives me super straight wasp vibes srry lmao but she’s super hot and brilliant) but it’s good drama when they put in the effort to write it. seems like she could be sappy but like in erica hahn way (another fave idc that she was mean and arrogant she was right and they wrote her off so stupidly) where she’s still kinda cold to everyone else but sweet with amelia and honestly that would work for me because i love that dynamic for women. imma need a kiss by the finale to really solidify my interest tho.
but yeah no this season is so bland the show itself has become so low stakes and formulaic it’s like they’re afraid to actually take it in a compelling and dynamic direction because they don’t wanna alienate their old ass fans in middle america but what about us young fun dykes lmao. what if we’re tired of weekly hetero complications like we wanna have fun too!
greys anon bestie!! hi <3
girl you are so right, Maggie get behind me 🤺 I really love Maggie and I do agree that a lot of the hate she gets is due to misogyny and racism, and she was kind of put in a shit position being "the other Lexie" by the writers. (I personally never minded the recycled half-sister storyline but Lexie was a precious babe so of course people are going to be territorial.) the thing, to me, about Maggie, is like. yeah. she's a little bit annoying. but we have to remember she's an ex gifted kid turned gifted adult, she went through puberty and like pretty much all major "age-related" (mental) changes surrounded by people much older than her and she was also bullied, plus she grew up an only child who was very much the center of her parents' lives. like, yeah, when a person like that grows up, she's gonna be a bit childish and self-centered (for the RECORD I can name at least ten characters who are way worse in that regard starting with the ugly little gnome George o'malley) (also Maggie is extremely emotionally intelligent when it comes to judging situations/dealing with conflict but due to everything in her life just not happening at the "average" time and being so focused on her studies she's just starting to develop an adult sense of "self-awareness" when we meet her - and that is OKAY). tldr Maggie is an angel and the minuscule amount of flaws she has just make her a real, three-dimensional, complex human being, and I wish people would get over the Lexie thing so they could appreciate this wonderfully written and played character.
same I loved sister lady chiefs so much!! I had genuine Amelia/meredith brain rot a few years back 🤭 when Amelia was curled up at the foot of Meredith's bed and then when they were at the table and Meredith reached out to pet Amelia's head - I have a lot of Thoughts about how much of a puppy Amelia is but I don't know if this is a safe space so I'll shut up now 😭
simone is good at many things but nothing and no one can make Lucas tolerable to me, every time he is on my screen it makes me want to kill myself. I wish he would leave and from a show writing standpoint I don't understand why yasuda is leaving. it just feels like everyone is coming and going as they please, couldn't they hire main characters who actually want to stay on the show for more than three seasons? because I'm sorry but what is this?
anyways yes in the very beginning I thought they would make yasuda and Jules a thing... I do think they would be good together in the time yasuda has left (in the show haha) but I found the storyline with her fight with Taryn very dissatisfying and just... meh, I guess. (but that could be said about any storyline at all of the past five seasons so)
okay enough of me being a hater!! I am a lover now. Love ❤️
okay I lied I still don't like Beltran and I want her to go away. I do agree with you that the badboy who's sweet to one (1) person in a lesbian dynamic is top tier, but regardless I do want kai to come back to Seattle and also their senses and for them to confess their love to Amelia. as an alternative I would settle for seeing addimelia scissor on national television. but that's beside the point.
anon have you watched private practice? if you like Addison, you should!! she's definitely a wasp but she is a lesbian i know it!! (source: delusion)
honestly I really wonder how their more conservative/republican fanbase feels about the general tone of the show now (I mean the hardcore alt-right people probably stopped watching a long time ago haha) because even though I'm anything but conservative I find it very disrespectful. I mean, you can't have every main character parroting one political standpoint (in ear-cancer inducing twitter lingo might I add) and the faceless "bad guys" saying the other. like with the roe v wade storyline - obviously I'm pro choice, but there could've been something way more interesting. instead of "bad guys throw brick at good guys" (Kwan). something to reach people on both sides and have an actual nuanced conversation - what if a woman who was a protester had gone to Addison for an abortion? for example
dude imagine if we were writers on the show... every character would be a dyke. Addison dyke, meredith dyke, Amelia bisexual(no one's perfect), NICOLE HERMAN!!! DYKE. Owen? dyke! you get it
thank you soo much for these anons they really make my day :'') as you can see I am a bit obsessed with grey's (I also write fanfic) so I'm super delighted to yap about it with you <33333 (but I promise I'm normal otherwise 😭 I go to school, I have friends, etc no basement dwelling going on here no ma'am 🫡)
