The Turners
I wrote this out after episode 13x05 regarding the Turners and what I want to see. I spoke about it to someone else before, but I wanted to share my thoughts here, too.
I actually wanted to write a fanfic regarding this matter, and it's the reason why you’ll see some dialogue. Who knows, I might bite the bullet and do it if inspiration strikes. This is also a rough draft, as emotions were present while writing this. Anyway, here we go. Please ignore all the grammar mistakes.
I actually WANT them to take her away. I want May to be taken away and be put with a different family. Now, hear me out before any hate gets thrown at me.
I want CTM to show the struggle of Patrick, Shelagh, Tim (if he is home), Angela, Teddy, and other characters close to the Turners.
I know Shelagh’s way to cope is to throw herself into work and to keep busy. Show me how Shelagh is struggling to cope with May being gone so show me her breakdown. Have Patrick, Sister Julienne, Sister Veronica, or even Mrs Higgins try to console Shelagh. That chat that she had with Sister Julienne was so short and knowing it probably took a lot of Shelagh to open up was disappointing so have them open up more or just give the woman a hug Sister Julienne, she needs it!
Have Cyril be the one that takes a crying May away from her parents. Show me how every time one of them sees Cyril afterwards, they look away because even though they know he was doing his job, that doesn’t change the fact that they are still hurt by it.
I want to see May be put into a different house. I like to see May become withdrawn. The house where she is put up isn’t bad, but it isn’t the best for her. Show me Esther seeing May like that. Show Esther looking at the pictures Shelagh has sent and how happy she looks. Then, have her look at May and realise that May was always with the best family she could have because she has parents and siblings who love her deeply. Although it is painful for Esther because she knows she can’t care for May, she understands that the Turners are giving her child a good life. I want Esther and May to talk, even if it’s briefly, and let her choose what she wants. Then give me a cute moment of Esther teaching May some of her native language. Maybe something silly or teach her to say “I love you”.
Then, give them a reunion. Have Mrs Williams or Esther return May to the Turners. Not at their house, but somewhere public, like a park. Have them not know that May will return until she does. Have May run from where she was standing and call out “Mummy”, then have Shelagh and Patrick turn around frantically at the sound. Shelagh crouches down just in time for May to barrel her way onto her arms. Secure, Shelagh inhales May’s hair as she did at the Mother House. Patrick suddenly envelops both Shelagh and May into a hug. Then, have May say something silly like “I can’t breathe” they panic, but once they see May laughing, they join her or have May say “I love you” to them in Cantonese/Mandarin. And when Shelagh or Patrick asks what it means, Esther approaches and says, “It means I love you”.
Have Shelagh grab Esther’s hands as she repeats, “Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”
Then maybe have the Turners meet Esther and let them talk. This part doesn’t have to be shown, but this talk could be about them trying to communicate more for May. Have Esther ask the Turners to send May to get Cantonese/Mandarin classes so she doesn't forget her roots.
This is one of the most essential parts. I don’t want this to be a one-episode story. I like this to be a multiple-episode situation. Have it be until the last episode of the season/series. Or even if we have to wait, have May return to them during the Christmas episode.
The Turners are a beautiful, loving family. We often see bad things happen to them and they pull through like they always do. It’s their strength to have faith and trust in each other, and it’s what makes them so amazing. In the show, we see couples come and go, but none have been as firm as them (with the exception of The Buckles). They are the longest-lasting couple in the series. Show us why we initially fell in love with them and why we still do ten years later.
Their 10th anniversary was overlooked, and in the Tuberculosis episode, there was no mention of Shelagh or how that particular case could have affected Patrick and Timothy in the aftermath. It is as if none of these things was crucial or significantly impacted them and their friends in the series. So give this to them.
Anyway, the rant/mini fanfic (?) is done for now.
If you have your own thoughts on the matter please share them but don't be mean.
#call the midwife#shelagh turner#patrick turner#turnadette#my poor turnadette#I have many thoughts on this matter#if you don't like my idea please just ignore my comment all together#at this point none of this will even happen

Morning after feeling: it damn hurts.
I can't stand to see them crying 😭

Are you still planning to continue “no room at the inn?” I ask only because we are all sitting on the edge of our seats!
Yes!!! I’m working on it, slowly but surely. Real Life craziness and unexpected illness (for which I’ll need surgery later this summer) have conspired to keep me exhausted but I have written quite a bit thanks to @fourteen-teacups enticing me into short word wars!!!
I am also on the edge of my seat. And poor Turnadette are… well, really, really ready 🤭😏😍
Thanks for the ask and support!!! 🥰🥰🥰

Ok, I just watched the CTM episode. For the first time it took me many days to see it, since I could not get a decent torrent (hacking is the only way I have to watch this show, sorry) and also... what to say? I wasn't thrilled with the idea of a whole episode dedicated to a wedding that doesn't really interest me. Sorry, but Lucille is not one of my favorites and if she has or doesn't have a boyfriend, I don't care. Cyril is a good boy and everything, but he has more contact and smiles with everyone except Lucille (you know, MONIL FOREVER) (is that he gets along better with Sister MJ)
But....Call the Midwife always surprises me and that's why it's still my favorite series.
We did not have Turnadette kiss and that makes me want to pull the hair out of my arms from the anger it generates but, so many years later, my premise remains: Patrick Turner make me yours 😜
It was beautiful to see that the vast majority had fun here: Sister Hilda is getting cooler and cooler, I want her to be my friend. And Sister Frances? I was impressed by her growth in previous seasons and she continues to do so! Well done girl!
I'm not convinced with Trixie and the handsome widower, but it is clear that they are going to lead them down that path so why make me a drama about this?
Everyone here knows that Sister Mildred is not someone I particularly like, but here her visit had a purpose and I really liked it: I have really been torn apart by the story of Anita and her baby, and although Shelagh should not be burdened with more things to do , (things so strong and emotionally demanding) I know it's part of her character and her essence and she can't help it AND I LOVE HER FOR THAT.
Tim, poor creature, I laughed a lot at your expense! 😂
One thing, and I don't want this to be misunderstood: I love, I love, and I will love Barbara, and they always remember her but what about the others? Sister Evangelina, Patsy and Delia, Chummy? For God's sake, no one ever mentioned Cynthia again!
Reggie and Fred, I love that pair they are the best, and this time Violet was not as bossy as ever.
Well, the wedding was nice, the reception too, but as I read on Twitter: They didn't give us a full Turnadette wedding because they knew they would make us more powerful.

CtM Thursday Thoughts--Relationships
Welcome to Thursday, everyone! This week, I’m going to provide an opinion that I think may be a little bit controversial. I will say that up front, but I also hope it can generate some interesting discussion. That opinion has to do with my current wishes concerning relationships on the show, and particularly romantic ones. More thoughts follow:
So, in this hiatus, looking back to previous series and with a small idea of what’s in store for series 8 (new casting, etc.), as well as reading a few fan opinons on various platforms outside outside of Tumblr, and also with great respect for Heidi and writers and acknowledging that I do not write this show and I have often been pleasantly surprised in the past when the story has gone in a direction that I hadn’t previously wanted it to (Shelagh’s pregnancy arc being a major example there), I have arrived at this wish for series 8:
At this point in my thinking, I would prefer there to be no new romances on the show in series 8.
Yes, I know this show has done romance well in the past and its portrayal of romantic relationships has been, for the most part, excellent and refreshing compared to the general trend in television. I also know that “no new romances” will mean now that there will only be two romantic couples on the show--the Turners and the Buckles--but you know? For now, at least, I’m fine with that! Yes, I fully own my status as a major Turnadette shipper, so the fact that one of the two canon couples currently on the show is my OTP is great for me, but I also think it’s great that *both* of the established couples on the show are happy, healthy, mutually respectful and caring marriages. That’s wonderful, as far as I’m concerned. Still, there are a lot of single characters on the show now, and I know that in general, fans like romances, but I think it would be great if the show took a break from introducing new ones for one series at least. A few reasons for this--
More Nuns--The recent casting news revealed that, of the three new characters and one “recurring guest” character joining the show, three out of the four are nuns. This suggests to me a new emphasis on the nuns on the show, which I welcome because I like the nuns and I would love to see more focus on them again. Also, even though I did mention seeing some kind of spark between Sister W and Tom in episode 7x08, I highly doubt the show will go the “nun falls in love” route again since they’ve already done that so prominently. Instead, it will be great to get to know the new nun characters and see how they interact with the existing characters (nuns, nurses, and otherwise), and to see the friendship dynamics that may develop, which leads me to...
Friendships--One of the highlights of the show over the years has been how wonderfully it has portrayed non-romantic friendships, particularly among the nurses, and I would like to see this continue and develop even more. Now with new characters joining, and also with Trixie returning and Shelagh apparently coming back to work full-time, I’d love to see more emphasis on friendships among the midwives. Also, in terms of the nurses who still single...
No Prospective Suitor Has Seemed Good Enough (Yet)--Poor Trixie. Her romance drama has seemed to dominate her character arc since the second half of series 3, and although I’ve liked elements of both of her major romances, neither seemed to fit ultimately. Tom turned out to be better suited with Barbara, and Christopher just... well, I liked him, but the story just seemed to drag out and he ended up seeming a little too pushy for my tastes. Now that Trixie is coming back and it looks like Christopher isn’t, I think it would be nice to just let Trixie be single for a while and focus on her life as a nurse and midwife and on her relationships with the other Nonnatuns. Maybe someday an ideal suitor will be found for her, but I hope that can wait until series 9.
There’s also the issue of Phyllis. She’s had one minor (one episode) romantic plot, but otherwise she’s been shown to be happily single, but now there’s Sgt Grumpy Walrus Woolf and, although the idea of pairing these two isn’t very popular on Tumblr, it *does” seem popular elsewhere online. A lot of people seem to be expecting these two to be paired up, and I still hope it doesn’t happen. I actually grew to like Sgt Woolf a lot more in s7 than I did when he first showed up in the last Christmas special, but still, he seems like an interesting enough character but I still don’t see him as an ideal romantic partner for Phyllis. I’m perfectly fine with these two being friends and occasionally sparring partners, but I’m still not sold on the idea of them as a couple mostly because I don’t see him as a good match for her.
Also, in terms of Lucille and Valerie, I know lots of people ship them, but I don’t personally ship them romantically and don’t really see signs that the show is heading in the direction of pairing them up (although I do think a strong case could be made for Val’s having an unrequited crush). I love their friendship, though, and now that Trixie is back full-time it will be interesting to see how they interact with her.
So basically, for me, my current wish is that the show continue with the amazing portrayals of the two romantic couples it has (and yes, more mushy Turner scenes are always welcome), but as for the rest of the crew, it would be nice to see more focus on friendships at least for series 8. Of course, I’m always open and happy to be pleasantly surprised so if a new romance does happen and it’s great, then yay! But for the moment, I’m cool with two happy marriages and a lot of non-romantic friendships, at least for now.
That’s all for this week. Responses and discussion are always welcome and encouraged. Next week, more thoughts!

Well, I might have mentioned this a time or thirty but it was to keep me accountable for writing it. I have posted the prologue and chapter 1 and plan to post on Tuesdays and Fridays. Rated T. Before you jump in, however, a small preface -
My new story, Coming Home, is an AU look at Turnadette, but specifically at Shelagh. Set in the 1930s, the story follows Shelagh as she works for the Frontier Nursing Service based in Hyden/Leslie County, Kentucky. I have known of the Frontier Nursing Service (FNS), now Frontier Nursing University, for many years. In my work in an academic medical library in Kentucky, we have often partnered with their librarians to provide access to scholarly materials. When I first discovered Call the Midwife in 2017 one of my first thoughts was of FNS. Later that year, I began writing pieces of what was to become this story. I was still in graduate school at that time and did not have much free time for writing such an involved fic. It may not have gone any further than that had @my-little-yellowbird not been so enthusiastic. She shared with me that Neal Street Productions had, at one point, looked into creating a show about FNS set in the Kentucky mountains. (I’d love to know the status of that project, though I fear it’s dead in the water!)
The history of the FNS begins with Mary Breckinridge, who founded the Frontier Nursing Service in 1925. Though born into wealth in Tennessee in 1881, her family had Kentucky ties. The Breckinridge family was prominent in politics and in public works. By 1920, Mrs. Breckinridge had a degree in nursing and had married twice. She had two children with her second husband, a daughter named Polly, who died shortly after a premature birth, and a son named Clifford, known as Breckie. She doted on her son and was devastated by his death at age 4. She travelled overseas to nurse in France. While there, she learned of the British nurse-midwife model and received training at the British Hospital for Mothers and Babies. Taking her new training, along with ideas that she had witnessed to work for patient care in France, she created the Frontier Nursing Service to provide nursing and midwifery care to mothers and children in need. She chose to base her program in Leslie County, Hyden, Kentucky due to its remoteness, extreme poverty, and need. The area was desperately poor and cut off from the rest of the state due to the Appalachian Mountains. In the beginning, the FNS ran from Mary’s family monies and donations from wealthy friends and colleagues. She then began to fundraise and to publish a journal to provide funds for the service. British midwives were employed to ride on horseback into the mountains to provide midwifery services, nursing care, and medications. A hospital was built in Hyden as well as nine outpost health clinics to serve people where they lived. The service was a success, leading to a decrease in maternal and infant mortality, and in creating a healthier population, specifically in terms of deworming the region. In 1939, as many of the British nurse-midwives went back to England to help families or with the war effort, Mrs. Breckinridge founded the Frontier School of Graduate Midwifery. The school is still active today. Mrs. Breckinridge passed away in 1965 in Hyden, Kentucky. (A slight note--Breckinridge was Mary’s maiden name which she took again once she divorced her second husband. Yet everything I have read styles her as “Mrs. Breckinridge” so I will continue to do the same.)
I visited Hyden in December of 2018 and took some photos that I will share. There are still many health clinics there, along with a statue dedicated to Mary Breckinridge. I have also created a Pinterest board for this story (which means I am in deep!), that I can also share. Mrs. Breckinridge is alluded to in my story but is not really a character (as she was a real person and I didn’t wish to overly fictionalize her). I have tried to make this story as historically accurate as possible, but at times some things have slid just a bit or are fuzzily accurate for the sake of fiction. A note on the speech – I am from central Kentucky, the Bluegrass Region (think horses, the Derby, Bourbon) but my relatives came from and through the mountains. I have based the speech patterns on my Grandmother and her cousins and even on myself at times! I hope that none of it is too confusing. There are also a plethora of in-jokes and information about my own family woven throughout this story. Cora, in particular, is dear to me as she is an amalgamation of my Granny’s cousin, my Granny herself, and my great-great-Grandmother.
These notes are quickly becoming as long as the story. But I must say a huge thanks to everyone who has listened to me prattle on about this fic. I’ve only been mentioning it for two years! I most especially want to thank @my-little-yellowbird, who first told me to go for it, who helped me to see the story potential, and who has given me great confidence to continue and to expand the story’s horizon. I dearly love to write and collaborate with you!! I also want to thank @fourteen-teacups, this story’s biggest fan, who made a writing spreadsheet and made me stick to it and who has been the sweetest most wonderful cheerleader, collaborator, and editor. Working with you, Teacups, especially these past two months of spreadsheet writing, has been some of the most fun I’ve had in twenty years of fandom. I couldn’t have done it without either of you!! 💕💕😘😘
I’m so nervous, y’all. I hope you enjoy. ❤️

Fangirl Asks...
I know, I know. This has taken me 5-ever to complete. Thank you to @bbcshipper , @elasticmonk , @fourteen-teacups @thatginchygal and @like-an-officer-and-a-sergeant for tagging me in this fandom questionaire. I really enjoyed doing it, and got kinda loquacious with my response. This is definitely worthy of a Reaad More break!
@bbcshipper asked:
1. How much do your real life friends/family know about your fandom life? My family knows, or think they know. Friends, nope. They know I’m a fan, but have no idea of the extent of my madness. I hold back with “normals.”
2. Have you ever embarrassed yourself fangirling? I’m sure I don’t know what you’re talking about.
3. What’s a recurring theme of fanfictions of you OTP that you find annoying/dislike? Live and let live, and all, but I avoid nun smut.
4. What are some prompts/ideas you might want explored more in fanfic? (asking this one for some ideas, hope that’s okay!) I love fluff, of course, but I really enjoy fics that explore the real-world, ordinary problems and compromises that come with marriage.
5. What’s the meaning behind your tumblr name? There’s an Everly Brother’s song of the same name, and my Grandmother used to sing it to me. I commissioned an artist to make a stained-glass yellowbird and its become a sort of talisman.
6. Favorite moment(s) with your OTP? The hand kiss, the misty road, “What’s she like?” the so-sexy almost kiss in the tent, Teddy’s birth (I know. Don’t @ me. I complain about the story arc, but I’m not heartless)
7. How far would you travel to meet your OTP in real life? If I were to meet them IRL, I’d have to pretend I was someone else. I’m not good with worlds colliding.
8.Do you have a playlist for your OTP? (again, looking for ideas!) Sorry, not really. I’m terrible with playlists. There was an old Youtube video featuring Pink and Nate Ruess of “Just Give Me a Reason” that gets to me.
9. What about your real life would shock your OTP? Shelagh might find it odd that Patrick looks remarkably like Mr. Birdy.
10. What have you learned from being a part of the fandom? I’ve learned a great deal about how different people cope with anxieties.
11. What’s the best thing about your fandom? My friends.
@elasticmonk asked:
1. What was your first fandom? Call the Midwife is my first true-blue, throw-yourself-into-it fandom.
2. What’s your favorite thing about your main fandom now? People get me.
3. What is your main fandom? Turnadette (sorry--do people actually have others? jk)
4. Who is your favorite character of all time? I can’t think of one, honestly, but I’ll say Molly Weasley, because of the next question.
5. What three quality’s do you think you share with your favorite character (of anything)? Molly Weasley is devoted to her family, not afraid to love them and not let them get away ith nonsense, and brave enough to stand up for right.
6. Where would you like to see your OTP vacation and why? I’d like to see them at the beach in Torquay. If Shelagh could wear the yellow swimsuit with the white band across the top, that would be ideal. In fact, if they could live out any of my fics, I’d be a very happy bird.
7. What’s your favorite gif from your fandom? I don’t know how to post an annotated gif mid-post, so I’ll just describe it. It involves tiptoes, dancing, and a giant hand sprawled across a tiny back.
8. What’s your favorite picture from your fandom? NGL
9. Who was your first OTP? I guess I shipped Jo and Prof Bhaer as a kid?
10. When did you start your main fandom? I lurked through 2013 and into 2014. I was very wary of the internet world, so when I finally identified myself, my palms were sweaty! (My very first post was my first fic ever!)
11. AU or canon complaint fanfiction? Canon-compliant, but I will read AU if it’s done in a way that sheds a new light on the characters.
@thatginchygal asked:
1. What was the first fanfic you ever read? I can’t remember the first Call the Midwife fic I ever read. It was all such a blur!! But...I think the first ever fic-like thing I ever read was a published Star Trek novel by A.C. Crispin, entitled Ishmael. It was a mash-up of Star Trek and Here Come the Brides. So, so right.
2. What was the first fanfic you ever wrote (if any)? Not Listening
3. Your last text message is the title of your next fanfic. What is it (and a brief summary)?
“I got you a glow stick.” It was for a candlelight march. I wonder...now i may have to do some research into marches in London in the early 1960′s...Or reinterpret that text for an altogether different purpose...
4. Do you keep your fandom interests a secret from your RL family/friends?
No, it’s not a secret. At least, not generally. My feeling is, I have nothing to be embarrassed about, so if they want to see, then go look. If they have a problem with anything they see, that would be on them. Fortunately, their respect for my right to have something just for myself--added to a little bit of fear of what they might find--keeps them away.
5. What is one of your favorite scenes between your OTP? I think Im going to pick the almost kiss in the tent. It’s SoMarried!! and very sexy. But you know, add about 100 more scenes and I’m good.
6. Do you have a playlist for your OTP? Sorry, no.
7. Why do I suck at coming up with these questions?? You’re better than I am!
8. Would you want to live in the ‘world’ of your favorite fandom? Maybe visit? Probably not. I’m content to watch from here.
9. What is your favorite piece of fandom merchandise? Oh, this is so easy. I have the companion books to the series, a boatload of Nonnatun Holiday cards, my Yellowbird stained glass statue, but what I love the most are the crocheted Yellowbird my friend Soph made me, and the Yellowbird Christmas card Mushy sent me this year. It’s framed!
In the fall of 2015, a group of lucky Nonnatuns went to a CtM panel that featured Heidi Thomas, Stephen McGann, Jenny Agutter, Emerald Fennell and Dame Pippa Harris. A week later I recieved this promotional post card in the mail:
I have to admit, I was a little teary when I saw it, mostly because I was so touched that in the midst of their own fun, two friends had me in their thoughts. They told the panelists about me, and how their show had helped to build friendships. Everyone signed messages to me on the back. I’m pretty sure HT’s message included an invite to tea.
10. Have you ever drifted away from a fandom only to be sucked back in (perhaps by a new season or change of storyline)? Not really.
11. Do you prefer canon-compliant fanfic or AUs? Definitely Canon-compliant.
@fourteen-teacups asked:
1. How did you come to join your first online fandom? Blame Call the Midwife.
2. If your first fangirling obsession pre-dates access to fandoms, what was the show and/or your OTP? In college, a friend was a huge Start Trek fan. By default, I got interested (alas, not obsessed).
3. If your OTP came to visit you in your town (in present day) where would you take them? We have a lot of parks suitable for camping. I could take them there to see a lovely site, then bring them back to my house for a nice cuppa and fresh sheets.
4. What three things do you have in common with your favorite character?
5. What prop would you most like to have from your favorite show? (I borrowed this question from a behind the scenes CtM interview.) The photograph of the cricket team on the surgery mantle and Shelagh’s long-lost sunflower brooch.
6. Same question but for an article of clothing. I want the Tan Overcoat of Love.
7. Where would you like to see your OTP go on vacation and why? See Elasticmonk q6
8. Do you have a) multiple OTPs; or are you b) a one-OTP-at-a-time person? I have a great appreciation for many OTP’s, but for me, there can be only one.
9. In question 8, if you answered a) list your top three OTPs; if you answered b) what was the OTP you dropped for your current one?
10. If you lurked in your fandom before joining (or even if you didn’t), is there a fellow fan whom you consider “famous” in the fandom that makes you fangirl whenever they comment on your posts? I was desperate for @this-unruly-heart to notice me! One day she messaged me asking if I was the one who wrote a "Letters” fic that she loved.
11. Was there a particular person who was especially welcoming and/or helpful when you first joined your current fandom? Many of the Nonnatuns of old that were supportive of my early efforts have moved on to other things, but the boost they gave to my confidence was immeasurable. Oh, and Sarge, too!
@like-an-officer-and-a-sergeant asked:
1. When did you start taking part in fandom(s)? I dipped my toe into the Star Trek fandom back in the late 1980′s. A dear friend was a huge fan, and her enthusiam was contagious. Sadly, she died in December 1988, and I had to leave fandoms behind. Then, in 2005 we moved away from the very close world we had built, and I was lonely. I started to look around for period dramas to watch and stumbled upon North and South. I was unbelievably grateful it wasn’t the old Civil War mini-series, and I started to read everything I could find. I came across C-19, and found fanfic as I now know it. As much as I enjoyed it though, I wasn’t ready to participate as anything other than a lurker until Call the Midwife came along.
2. Which fandoms? Sorry, I think I answered that in th eprevious response
3. How long did you stay? Ibid
4. Did you write fanfics? Yes, although sometimes I need a kick in the butt to make sure it doesn’t become a past tense thing.
5. Any memorable funny event in your fandoms? So many ridiculous things have happenned here. Hiatus Challenges, Limericks (!!!), Twitter responses (remember when HT used to answer our questions? Flat/house! Names!), Nonnatun Holiday Card Exchanges...It seems that the funniest things would come out of nowhere.
6. Did you get long-time friends? (even as Real People)? Definitely. There are people I have met here that I feel I know as well or better than people IRL. And one poor soul has had to bear meeting me in person and somehow still continues to be my friend.
So here are my questions.
How has fangirling made an impact in your life?
What makes fangirling most worthwhile to you?
What have you learned about yourself by being a part of a fandom?

Thanks for the tag, @eatapinkwafer, @my-little-yellowbird, and @cooldoyouhaveaflag!
@eatapinkwafer ‘s questions:
1.What’s something you’d never thought you’d do but have because of a fandom?
That would have to be my travel to the USA to meet a fellow fan 😉
2. If you could be in any tv show/movie which would it be and what role would you like to play
I’d be quite happy to play one of the patients in CtM, haha. I’d get to meet people from the cast, and get to wear some lovely pieces.
3.Is there any storyline that has impacted you personally?
Hmmm…. I remember the one about brittle bone disease. The diagnosis didn’t come as a real surprise to me because some of my cousins have it, too, and something similar happened to my aunt and uncle.
4.How would you describe your favorite show/ movie to someone to convince them to watch it?
CtM: it has nuns and nurses who are also midwives who provide medical care to the London poor in the 1950’s. Also, it is feminist as heck.
5.Have you convinced anyone to watch a favorite show/movie of yours and they got hooked?
My sisters and I watch CtM together, haha.
6.Have you ever cancelled plans or left early in order to watch an episode of your favorite show or for a fandom thing? If so, tell the story
I don’t think I have, no. I just record the episode if something happens which means I can’t watch it live.
7. How many fandoms have you been in and what are they?
Just CtM I’m afraid. Oh, and the German musical fandom, too.
8. What scene first got you hooked to your OTP?
I think it was the cigarette smoking scene. I was pretty sure there was love in the air for Turnadette, then. I think the hand kiss got me squealing good and proper, though.
@cooldoyouhaveaflag ‘s questions:
1. If you’ve written fanfiction, do people in your real life read it? Would you want them to if they don’t?
My girlfriend does, haha. I mean we met through fanfiction, so it is logical. As to the rest of my family: they don’t, no, and I’d prefer to keep it that way. I don’t think I’d like them to read my smut.
2. Are you usually active in your fandoms? If yes, how long before you join in, if no, why not? (No right or wrong answer, I just think it’s interesting!)
This is really my first fandom. I was active in 2013, then not for a long good while (until 2016). I don’t know why, exactly; I sure wasn’t very active on Tumblr in that period, either.
3. What is your dream fic about your OTP? (no restrictions, it can be anything from a cannon one-shot to a 200,000 word multi chap space alien AU)
I think Timothy Turner and the Entertainment Badge is as perfect as they come already.
@my-little-yellowbird ‘s questions:
1. How has fangirling made an impact in your life?
It got me a girlfriend as well as some good friends, for starters. It also made me start writing again. I’m eternally grateful for both things.
2. What makes fangirling most worthwhile to you?
The contact with people who have the same interests as I. I don’t have many of them irl.
3. What have you learned about yourself by being a part of a fandom?
That I am bisexual, haha!
My questions:
1. What activity in the fandom do you enjoy the most (the discussions, making gifs, writing/ reading fic, etc.)?
2. Do you prefer to be part of a small, middle-sized, or large fandom, and why?
3. Have you ever met someone in your fandom in real life? If not, would you like to?
I think most people have been tagged already, but I tag @purple-roses-words-and-love, @alice1nwond3rland, @bbcshipper, @simone020896,

I finally watched the episode. It was good, I liked it, especially Carol finding a place with love. And Sister Frances is my absolute favorite.
I hope that in the CS and next season, we have mentions, consequences, problems due to the accident and not that everything is forgotten (like so many issues and people! in this program)
It was a good episode, considering how weak this season was. I guess without social distancing everything would be more emotional and not "cold" (and I'm not just talking about Turnadette and Shulienne. The poor widow needed a hug, her little daughter too)
Ok Call The Midwife, you still can count me in your army.

Video
youtube
‘Take my hand into yours before Mother Superior’s home’
Been listening to this and imagining a Turnadette video to it haa. Poor Sister Bernadette... maybe someone could actually make a vid to this as I am as useless in making videos as I am in flying.
