Making sure people on tumblr get to see pictures & videos posted elsewhere online but also putting in a deliberate effort to include credit & sources has me like

#I know many people on here don't go on other social media sites so I feel this is the best solution #I try my best to make it easily accessible to find where pictures I post came from and give credit #because it used to drive me wild with other fandoms I'm in where there'd be iconic images getting shared around #and the source would get lost to time/reposts which sucks for the person who actually took & owns the picture #but also I personally like being able to go #''oh hell yeah that photographer dropping another banger image?? swear they never miss''#''holy shit my mutual took a kickass photo at the show you couldn't see that on the tv angle'' etc #also so many things like instagram stories get lost to time and if they're captured people don't always know where they came from #I wish it was a full time job to collect an accurately sourced/credited archive of images & videos #if I had the space/money to literally start a formal archive for it I would #(I already lowkey have a danhausen one I just feel like I need a couple hard drives etc for it because there is a Lot)#preservation of media my beloved

#Reposting cause I fixed a lineart mistake that was killing me FINALLY after HOURS #will post the previous tags here #rewritten cause I forgot to copy them yay ->#a mini rant which isn't really a rant but more like information #I have followed this girl called Johanna Öst on Instagram for years #highly recommend it btw #and she did something called the wardrobe project for years first on LiveJournal then on Insta #and it consisted on her taking pieces of clothing she didn't wear from her wardrobe #and trying to match them up and make them wearable #and I wanted to do something similar but I didn’t wanna post it on Instagram for several reasons #mainly cause I'd feel like intimidated by everyone else who posts fashion stuff #and because I'd like to do it in video form #also because I'd have to do it in Portuguese and I didn't want to #also because people from my past follow me there #anyway a whole thing #and then I thought abt tumblr but the dms I get over here whenever I post pics of me are disconcerting to say the least #so I didn’t do it BUT if I could turn it into a little fashion AND art project that'd be cool #and I'd credit both Johanna and Libby on every post cause that's where I got the ideas from #and I'd take outfit pics and draw them like this #would it be time consuming? god i always feel so awkward asking people to give me credit when theyve used my icons or transparents jfksjjfd

like ik i didnt like. draw these or anything, i just took official art and did a bunch of edits.... but it Does take quite a bit of time to make them, and it also requires having a good eye for icon-making to have them actually look nice in Icon Size

like i gotta keep it visually pleasing and add color adjustments but have it still recognizeable what is in the picture when small, cropping just right so its not too zooomed out/too close and also centered or off-center in a way that fits the pic better, choosing/editing the background, any extra details i edit/draw on, dont have it be cluttered, etc. some of the transparent i make are even from bad quality and/or small pics that i have to manually clean up and basically draw over bits to make them look nice.

im always putting a lot of thought and work into making my icons nice and my transparents clean so i feel like i deserve credit for them! and yet when it comes down to approaching someone to ask for credit when theyre using one im just like ah, >.<;; could you credit me pls... if you dont mind... if thats okay with you... 👉👈

#i also dont wanna accidentally come off like im mad about someone not giving me credit or something #bc im not! it can be easy to overlook text asking for credit/forget what a picture was saved from/found the pic from elsewhere #(like google images or someone had linked/reposted my stuff somewhere)#or whatever else #(which i wouldnt be happy about the repost thing if they didnt give credit but thats a different topic)#id only get mad if someone was being a real asshole about me asking for credit kcbdjfjd #tho also some of my icons/transparents take a lot less time n have a lot less alterations on them than others #but i still put time n energy into them to make them look nice even if theyre simpler than my other ones yunno...

i like seeing my art on pinterest i always wanted that. like thats mine i did that. someone else liked it so much they posted it on pinterest for more ppl to see :)

#ive always been an avid pinterest user. i hate it but i love pictures #as long as my signature is on there i dont really mind the pinterest reposting. i used that and google images more to find fanart as a kid #and hated when i couldnt find the artist to find more of it like if there wasnt a sig or it was too small or blurry #insta reposters fuck off tho. i already post my shit there i know you just do it to get more likes and followers #dont care if you put credit in the captions dont do it #i see so much reposted zelda art on insta it makes me ANGRY.
