Ok obviously feel free to decline this since the subject matter could be rough for some people but, canon Benny’s reaction to what happened to Kathy was definitely my least fav part of the film and I need it to be rectified through fic🙏🏽. So could you write something about the aftermath of something like that happening to reader when her and Benny have been dating for a while? Im starved for caring and protective Benny unfortunately

Life Raft (Benny Cross x Shy!Reader)

Benny was going to be so upset with you.

Your hands shook from the adrenaline still coursing through your veins. You blinked and the tears burning your eyes threatened to spill over. Kathy’s hand rubbed the spot between your shoulder blades soothingly as she sat on the edge of the bed with you. Downstairs, you could hear the party wrapping up, Johnny and Funny Sonny trying to get everybody to leave. The party was over, too many bad things had happened for everyone to just pretend they didn’t see it, pretend they didn’t hear it.

You swallowed roughly, the events of the last hour still looping in your mind. The way his cold eyes raked over your body, the way he smiled sinisterly as you backed away. The course palm of his hand that wrapped around your throat, pinning you against the wall. His hot breath fanning across your mouth as his tongue invaded. His other hand going up your skirt, grazing the line of your panties. 

You squeezed your eyes shut at that part. You had screamed, but Benny wasn’t there. Kathy wasn’t there. Zipco wasn’t there. Brucie wasn’t there. You were alone with this man, prey to this predator. And who even was this man? You hadn’t seen him before, even though he wore the colors you had been so used to seeing almost every day. More chapters were popping up everywhere and with it, came new faces to the parties, meetings and picnics. Strangers, dangerously prowling through the club now, waiting for opportunities of solitude to attack.

You had only left the bonfire for a moment, telling Benny that you were going inside to grab a soda from the fridge. They only ever had beer coolers outside by the fire. You would only be gone for a moment. But a moment was all this animal needed as he stalked into the kitchen after you.

You were alone and that realization sent ice through your veins. This animal could do whatever he wanted, and you were powerless to stop it.

And then suddenly Johnny was there, grabbing this man and throwing him away from you. You were stuck against the wall, frozen in fear as you watched Wahoo and Corky jump into the fight as well. The two dragged the man out of the room, heading for the back door.

“Hey, kid, you okay?” Johnny asked, trying to make eye contact with your frantic gaze. He reached out slowly and pulled the hem of your dress back down to cover your trembling legs. “C’mon, let Kathy get you upstairs.”

You hadn’t even realized Kathy was there too now. She wrapped her arms around you, guiding you to the stairs. 

“B—Benny?” You tried to ask and Johnny nodded. 

“I’ll get him for ya,” he said, eyes empathetic.

That seemed to be hours ago. Or maybe it was only a few minutes. You weren’t sure; everything felt a little hazy. However long it was, Kathy never left your side, having planted herself next to you. You tried to say something to her, to thank her, but your throat was too dry and your mind too incoherent. You felt dirty and scared and you just wanted to go home. 

Benny was going to be so upset with you. 

Footsteps climbed the stairs and you stiffened at the sound. Benny appeared in the doorway and you wanted to sob. The man you wanted to run to, the man you wanted to hold you tight and carry you back to safety stood there, a dark expression on his face. With one look at Kathy, he dismissed her. She squeezed your arm gently. 

“I’ll be right downstairs if ya need me,” she promised softly and then she was gone. Benny closed the door behind her and a heavy silence filled the bedroom.

Your heart raced as he moved to stand at the dresser across from you. You could see the tension radiating from him and you swallowed back any kind of hope for him to love you still. 

“What happened?” he asked finally, his voice wavering with barely-controlled anger.

“I-I just wanted a pop. I just came in-inside and he—he . . . I couldn’t—couldn’t get away—” The words tumbled out of your mouth incoherently. 

“Which one?” 

You looked up at him through your tear-soaked lashes. “I—I don’t . . . Did Johnny not—”

“Johnny didn’t tell me who. Just told me . . .” His words died as he looked at the purple marks forming on your neck. His jaw clenched hard and he looked away from you. Your heart sunk at the action. He couldn’t even look at you anymore. He was so disgusted that he couldn’t even look at you. You could feel him slipping through your fingers and total desperation hit you like a wave. The ocean, you thought, that's what it felt like. You were lost in the middle of the ocean and a storm broke a nasty hole in your tiny ship. You were sinking, drowning in that vast, dark water.

The tears broke free from their dam and rolled down your cheeks as a sob caught in your throat. “I’m—I’m so sorry, B—Benny. Please forgive me.”

“Forgive you?” He looked back at you but you couldn’t face his hard gaze. 

Looking down at your lap, you cried. “Please don’t be upset with m—me. I’m sorry.”

He crossed the distance between you, lowering himself to his knees before you. You squeezed your eyes shut to avoid his gaze, heart shattering in your chest.

His warm hands enveloped yours tightly. “Bunny.”

Please don’t leave me here to pick myself up, you wanted to say. Please don’t abandon me to this darkness, I'm already drowning. I'm still me. I'm still your girl.

“Bunny, look at me.” His voice was so soft, just barely above a whisper. 

You obeyed his gentle command. His face was inches below yours, eyes examining. Slowly, he lifted his hand and his fingertips ghosted over the bruises forming on your throat. His brows pinched together but his eyes were soft as they returned to yours. His fingers traveled over the curve of your jaw and up to swipe the heavy flow of tears from beneath your eyes.

“I could never be upset with you, Bunny," he whispered. “I could never.” 

Your hands came up to grip his wrists as if he were a life raft holding you afloat. His hands, you realized, were shaking slightly and you held even tighter, anchoring him to you. 

“I’m not angry with you. I’m angry with myself. Angry that I wasn’t there to protect you.” His voice wavered, tears rimming his beautiful blue eyes. “I promised to always protect you and I wasn’t there. I’m so sorry, Bunny. I’m so, so sorry.”

Words failed you, but you never needed them for Benny. You threw your arms around his neck, burying yourself into his chest. He reacted immediately, pulling you impossibly close as he moved to sit on the bed beside you. You cried, and he let you.

And when Johnny came to check on you, that’s how he found you: curled into your Benny's chest, his arms a protective shield from the rest of the world as he whispered into your ear, hands running gently through your hair. And Johnny knew that you’d be okay, because you had Benny. And Benny would be okay because Johnny and his boys had already taken care of the ex-Vandal who dared to lay a hand on their little bunny.

OOOOOOHHH I’m getting asks i feel special!!!

So five things that make me happy let’s go!

1.shopping !!! I’m one of those people that finds comfort in retail therapy and focusing on pretty things to buy! I especially love shopping for clothes, bags, shoes, make up and skincare. I if I see a Sephora down the street, drag me away, if I go in I’m never getting out. I also loooove designer clothes shopping! My faves right now are Hermes, miumiu and Dior. I always have various emotional attachments to some items, right now they are my Marc jacobs tote bag, my Hermes ouran slippers and my Gucci mini skirt! My babies will always be there to comfort me…

2.studying! I’ve always been an academic weapon since elementary school, and I’ve always enjoyed performing in academia. In the last few years I had to put that aside and freeze my studies due to serious health conditions, but I’m starting uni in a few days and I’m so excited! I can’t wait to start studying again, learning, reading, get passionate about subjects etc.

3.traveling! My parents always taught me the importance of traveling since I was born and I’m so grateful they’ve given me the opportunity to do so <3 in the past years I’ve been always going somewhere new, but my constant is always london! If i plan a trip somewhere, I always have to book another one just for london. It’s my absolute happy place in the world and my dream is to move there. A famous Italian saying is “you see Naples and then you die” and i changed it to “you see london and then you die”. There is nothing like a walk through mayfair/Knightsbridge and a lil shopping in soho. Anyway my favorite trips by far (aside from the uk) have been Oman, copenhagen, and the us.

3.making men suffer ice cream! Ice cream is my mostestestestest favorite food in the world and I’m the biggest ice cream connoisseur, nobody tops me. I eat it almost everyday and for me any occasion is good to sneak in some. Don’t want to cook dinner? Thank god I have ice cream. I’m sick? Some cold, refreshing ice cream will cure me. I’m happy? Yay! Let’s have some ice cream. I’m sad? Some ice cream will make me feel better. We’re watching a movie? No popcorn, ice cream instead. I have to celebrate? No better way than having some creamy deliciousness. It’s my birthday? Ice cream cake of course. My fav flavors are cremino and pistachio cremino!

5.my daughter whom i gave birth to!!!!!! It would be a lie to say that my life doesn’t not revolve entirely around her. She’s the reason I’m alive. The reason i keep going. She’s my smile, my happy tears, my pride and joy. When i wake up she’s the first person i greet and when I go to bed the last person i say goodnight to. She’s constantly in my thoughts and when i haven’t seen her in five minutes i have to go look for her and cuddle for at least one hour. I love her so much it hurts, she’s the love of my life that saved me from the darkest period of my life <3

FF7R shipping thoughts from Male POV

I convinced a friend of mine to play FF7R and he did. And he loved it. Congratulations to meeee bcause I pulled a new fan into the FF world. Yay, new gaming buddy with the same gaming taste

He's a new fan, has no idea what FF is all about. He knows Cloud from certain game but careless about his backstory. He finished the first playthrough game last week, and I asked about his opinions on the overall game also asked about his ship too. He's the type that likes to sail on a very cracked ship and he really enjoys it despite all the hates other fans were throwing to it

He is so clueless about the story plots and doesnt understand fully about Cloud's role in there. He doesnt remember Barret's name and knows nothing about Zack. He hates Hojo and loves Red XIII. He also questions why does Rufus wears a skirt and has so many belts, what is that slanted eyes cat wearing a crown doing there, how many glasses do Rude has in his pocket and he even asks why does the long haired turk (Tseng) wears eyeliner.? Excuse me, hello.. That is his natural beauty okaay. (Thats what i think he is)

Its funny to hear his comment. I dont dare enough to give him the spoiler, but I do encourage him to play the OG, Crisis Core and watch Advent Children to understand the story plot better.

And then about the shipping part, he got Aerith's middle dress and Aerith resolution. He amazed how bold Aerith was when she said not to fall in love with her. Knowing his taste that likes to sail in a broken ship, I thought he would probably cheering for Cloud x Jessie, or maybe since he got Aerith Resolution, he would go for a more steady ship, like Cloud x Aerith.

But to my surprise, he chose Cloud x Tifa. Odd, it made me questioned about CloTi ship, and thought if my ship actually had any huge hole here or there that made my friend liked this ship. And I was like, how the hell can this guy that only likes a broken-will-soon-sink-in-the-sea ship can support a steady ship like Cloti? Somethings not right here

When asked, he replied

"Cloud looks attracted to her. Btw, If I were Cloud, I would treasure my first love and childhood friend more than anything. Its not just bcause of the memory, but bcause it has become a part of me. True though, the past is in the past, but for me, I need something from the past to remember what I have become now"

Had McDonald’s today and it was so good lmao I love fish burgers and nuggets way too much for my own good

Went to work today and was with my two favs yay and it made the shift go so much faster cos I was working with them for the whole shift

My boyfriend came over to my house after work and we got Viet food and burgers and watched the first episode of black mirror which was so GOOD

Went to Kmart with my bf and bought 2 sweaters, a denim skirt (I fit into a size 10 again yay), nail polish, a make up brush, and a food scale hahaha and my bf got new pjs which he looks so cute in omg

SpacePops: A Review Part 2

Well, here I am again, this took me longer to get around to than I intended, but hey, I had four times as many dolls to look at. Not to mention how much drawing I’ve been doing for my main blog lately, so yeah I’ve been busy. 

Anywhoozle, as my first review can tell you, I found my Luna doll to have a certain amount of charm through all her cheapness, and if you can still find one from your local TRU; you might be lucky enough to snag them for round $2 bucks each as I did. And I def recommend getting one if you can, if nothing else for a nice, articulate spare body and some MH sized shoes. Just don’t let your self pay for than $5 for one. They’re not that fun. 

I was lucky enough to manage to get a hold of all five characters, so let’s see how they measure up to Luna. To avoid being too repetitive I’ll try to focus on their unique features only.

Let’s start with Rhea:

Rhea was actually the one I liked the best from her art work. I mean look at it, she looks amazing here, the boots, thigh high stockings, the layers, gloves and chains would’ve made for an amazing doll of the effort had been put in. 

I won’t ramble forever about the what-ifs, but it’s just so much of a punch to the stomach to know we’ll never see the real potential these had realized.

I’m not gonna go through the all the profiles, but if anyone’s interested I could scan them in for better visibility. 

Gremlin #2.

Getting her out of the box, the first thing that struck me was her hat.

And I mean that literally as there was nothing helping it attach to her head. Much as I’m grateful these dolls lack those plastic ties shot into their heads that mattel’s become so fond of; I don’t think a rubber band would’ve too much to ask for.

Here she out of the box:  

She’s...something.

After how much Luna has surprised me by simply being less bad than I feared; Rhea on the other hand was everything I’d worried these girls would be. 

Her hair is terrible, it’s the cheapest, nastiest of all the dolls, it’s literally the same stuff the Midnight magic dolls used. It had a gross, greasy feel and wants to pull away from the scalp if I dare try to run a comb through it. 

Ugh. On top of that, it became quickly clear I’d gotten a Rhea with a defective hand. Instead of the normal back and forth movement almost every other doll has, she’s got side to side movement. 

Except, her hands still have the dents in the molding indicating it’s not meant to turn that way. I’m at a loss. I really can’t tell how this happened, or how her hand isn’t falling off. 

It could’ve been worse in that regard, but there’s not many good uses for side to side movement that look natural. 

At this point I’d only opened the one doll prior, and so was extremely worried I’d simply gotten lucky with Luna. 

sigh. 

Her outfit is super cheap, made cheaper looking by how complex a design they were trying to emulate. It’s all one piece and gives the impression of a store bought Halloween costume in miniature. 

I will grant however, all the dolls having their name on their tag is cute. 

But it’s a wasted detail on something this cheap. The black band on her waist is a sort of flimsy, felt-like material, and the knit of her shorts is thin. I feel like I could easily tear a run in it if I pull just a little too much, especially being unhemmed as they are. 

She’s got a slight blue tint to her pale complexion, as you can see her here next to Catrine. 

The socks are made of paint, and I’d have rather they be left off entirely. Her left knee also doesn’t bend, and I have not been able to fix it yet.

As you can imagine, after Rhea I lost a lot of energy for these girls. She was the doll I’d wanted the most, and was just disappointing in every way, despite me already having incredibly low standards. 

Still, I was going to have to open these girls up eventually. So this time I decided to go for the design I’d liked the least with Athena: 

Every time I look at her dress I can’t help but think of the Flintstones. Not in a cute way either. 

It’s like if, after their crossover, a member of the Jestons universe tried to make a fashion version of their cave clothing as a cheap cash in, and just doesn’t work for me that much. Maybe it’s partly the colors used. 

It’s a little better art wise, but eh. Maybe if she wasn’t he same color as Rhea..?

Blah blah profile. 

Gremlin #3.

Despite my opinions on her look, out of the box she struck me as a pleasant increase in quality if nothing else.  Nothing falling off, no visible defects.

It was around this time tho I was starting to realize there seemed to be a decided aversion to hair gel. Her spiked updo’ is translated as a short ponytail here.

Can’t say I mind too much, but lack of gel means her hair gets pulled pretty easily, especially where her glasses are. She’s got nothing on Gilda Goldstag that’s for sure. 

Her tie is made of the same cheap fuzzy stuff Rhea’s belt was made of, for that matter her gold belt is the only new fabric type here. 

But to my great surprise her skirt has a separate over lay! 

And it’s even lined, I’ll admit it improved my opinion of her a good bit. It feels sturdy.

Her netted sleeve too is competently made. 

..but left a stain on her arm. 

With out the overlay her outfit looks a bit less flinstone-y, so I’m just gonna leave it off. 

Under her dress she has some pink tights, which I appreciate as they become less and less common in the doll world. Even if it makes me wonder why Rhea couldn’t have had socks. Just one of those things I guess.

Her glasses are held in neatly with, of all things, the help of tiny plastic bobby pins! 

!!! I’m sorry but that’s adorable, tiny pins! And they work! Amazing. 

Her hair is the same quality as Luna’s, thank goodness, and is easy enough to brush out.  

But to my dismay, her glasses don’t fit her face. If you put the arms over her actual ears, they set waayyyy too low. I can’t get them to twist so the bridge will set on her nose. But if I place them high enough so the lens can cover her eyes, they get stuck from her head being too wide and wont’ touch her face. 

That said, I like the shape and look of these, and I’m sure I have plenty of other dolls who can rock them. But it doesn’t say much for your line if your accessories can’t be used for the doll they were made to be used on.

Still, Athena was a huge improvement to my energy for these girls, so let’s hop over to Hera. 

I wanna take a sec to apologize for the quality of several of these pics, my camera’s very old and staring to kick the bucket. 

Hera’s pretty cute, if you like Draculaura. Which I do. The fact the lime green specifically reminds me of Snow Bite, which is my fav version of Ula helps make it a pleasant comparison. 

Gremlin #4. 

Yay! A different fabric! And hemming! It’s a dream come true~

Now if only I had the same excitement over her hair.

It’s the standard for these dolls tbh, but being curled has not agreed with it. I’m kinda afraid to touch it. She’s got a head band in there, but it’s very hidden.

even if it wasn’t, it’s just a plain ribbon, no where near the flower crown of her art.  

The dress is really the star here, of all the outfits so far it’s the one that feels the sturdiest, and no printed details. 

Her tag. 

Her tights are different fabric to the other ones we’ve seen. It’s not as stretchy, which is why you see it sagging around the knees. It’s the kind of netting you’d see as a tulle petticoat. 

It looks alright, but it makes me concerned with how durable these would be in the long run.  

Now,you may have noticed me not making any comments on the shoes. Well I have a very good reason for that:

They’re all the same. They reused the same shoe mold for all four of these girls, leaving only one who doesn’t have these heels. 

That girl being of course, Juno. 

She was my second favorite of all the girls when I saw their art all that time ago. 

Aside from how much I love the colors used, she has pants! And a shaved head! 

...And another Gremlin.

And last but not least, here she is:

Of all the girls, she’s the one who comes the closest to looking like her boxart. 

So not too surprising her outfit is to be my favorite of the bunch. 

She’s also the only one to use any kind of styling product. Fairly lightly, but it’s on there. Yet, despite how little there was used they still managed to get a good bit on her face. 

 Can’t have it all I suppose. 

But the flocking looks good. 

I also appreciate how she has the most unique face paint of all the ladies.  It’s not much by usual standards, but with every girl using the same face mold, they can use all the differences they can get.

Without her Jacket you can bein to see just how had that top is, but she can put her hands in her pockets, so if there had to be a trade off, I’ll admit they made the right one. 

Her jacket is nicely sewn, only her collar sporting an unfinished hem, but I don’t know how you’d really hem those jagged edges anyhow. It’s usable and looks alright. 

Her boots tho, no complaints there. By Spacepop standards these are the best shoes you’ll ever see. By normal doll standards they’re still not bad. 

I very serious when I say I love these pants. I feel like most of their clothing budget went into that fabric. Almost like someone was trying. 

Sigh. But then you get this. 

It’s garbage. The worst piece of all the clothing I’ve seen here, and there’s no way this would’ve held up to a child.

Now what else have I not covered..oh yeah. The gremlins. 

They suck. 

Like the shoes, the reused the same mold 4 times. Unlike the shoes, I never thought they were cute. 

Only 1 dared to use a different mold, Athen’s gremlin: 

...Who might be the only one that comes close to being endearing. The combo of a cute hair style, cute paint details, side glancing eyes, make Roxie almost a nice accessory. 

Whew, well, now I’ve gone through everything I could think to talk about. 

Having gone over every doll just cements that the execution of this line was a huge misstep on the part of Madame Alexander. Tho I can’t be sure.I get the impression they made these to compete with Monster High, but they company simply waited too long.  

By 2016 MH was going into the reboot, and with Mattel’s sales and quality going down MA seemed to lost faith in these ladies and gave up before release. It’s a shame too, Maybe the weren’t the most original idea on the market, but They could’ve been a nice solid competition. Instead we got these; and it leaves me with a sense of melancholy the more I think about the ways things are going. With new lines and experiments coming to a standstill nowadays, doll collecting has been less and less exciting. 

And now, less than a year after their debut Spacepops have gone the way of Pinkie Cooper and Novi Stars. In their own way, the last remnant of an era of collecting that’s now gone as styles shift to something else.   

Still, I plan to have fun my new new set of ladies, I haven’t completely decided how far I’ll go, maybe leave them as-is for posterity. Their flat face ups have grown on me. Maybe I just miss the bright, harsher colors that are going out of style. 

All that said, I bought a spare Athena to experiment with, so I’ll def have some follow ups with how these ladies look with a good repaint. 

Anyway, I’m tired and out of thoughts for now. Hopefully you found this somewhat informative, and as always thanks for reading.

Arlington, TX

Wow!  We love Arlington!  After 7 years of traveling around the country, we found somewhere we would seriously consider moving to.  Besides the people being super nice and "mostly" polite drivers, there is EVERYTHING here.  Every store and restaurant, several hospitals, plenty of geocaches, an AMC 18, Six Flags, a big airport, Interstates and mild winters.  We stayed two months.  Early on we took a wrong turn out of Aldi's and turned around in the driveway of the cutest little red brick house.  Ever since then Arlington has been pulling at my heartstrings to settle down.  The only thing that's missing is Shorty!

Along with giant Wal-Marts, Sam's, WinCo and several Aldi's, here are some of the places where we ate and shopped:  CiCi's, Peter Piper Pizza, Canes, Panda Express, In & Out, Boston Market, Furr's Buffet, Spaghetti Warehouse, Taco Bueno, Taco Cabana (awesome nachos), Krispy Kreme (walking distance from KOA!), a new fav Chinese Harbor Buffet and a new fav Pancho's Mexican Buffet.  There are many new-to-us restaurants we didn't have a chance to try.  Shopping:  Fry's ($7 click belts), Trader's World flea market, Half Price Books, Dave & Busters (we had a groupon).  And all the usual chain stores.  There is a mall just a couple miles south of the KOA.  It has an arcade/bowling alley bigger than Dave & Busters that is open late.  I just went in to look around after a day at the theater; we didn't stay to play.

So the downside.  Just after we got here, we went to an Urgent Care because Corny's back was killing him.  They did a simple x-ray and diagnosed him with sciatica.  They gave him a few pain pills until we could get an appointment with a primary care doctor.  They gave him better pills.  He bought a Hurry Cane.  We used the wheelchair at Trader's World.  By the end of the two months in Arlington, he was much improved.

I got a new doctor I like but his med tech screwed up big time when she entered my Rx's into the computer.  It took two trips to Walgreens and a smart Pharmacist to get them straightened out.  I'm supposed to be back for an appointment in October, but we'll see how that goes...

One of our A/Cs was acting up (capacitor), the microwave quit on us, and we had to replace the kitchen faucet.  The RV turns 8 this year and we've talked about getting a new smaller class C RV.

Geocaching.  The whole reason for coming here was for GeoWoodstock in Fort Worth.  I drove separately on the way up from San Antonio and did a big county-run.

I/we went to events all week.  We went to the one DDD in Fort Worth - Fred's Texas Café.  It was very good, and very pricey.  There are a dozen DDD's in Dallas but we didn't make it to any.  There was a nice CITO (cache in/trash out) event by the river.  There was an 8pm-12am trading event where I traded pathtags and gave away a bunch of camo'ed pill bottles.  I saw the famous Stockyards and the traveling Geocaching Adventure Maze - a geocaching museum of sorts.

The actual GeoWoodstock was a bit less than I had expected.  It was all indoors in a big hall with a few tablers.  It paled in comparison to the GW at Coney Island in Cincinnati last year.  A big part of it was no more lab caches for me (until I break down and get a Smartphone).  Groundspeak made lab caches unavailable by computer this year.  I don't know if I'm repeating myself, but I tried using a Smartphone years ago for about 3 months and never swore so much in my life.  I just couldn't take it, trying to do computer stuff on a little 3" screen with little 3mm buttons for a keyboard.  I remember sitting at a Pizza Hut (in Oregon?) after eating and spending about a half hour trying to log in to their wi-fi and kvetching.  I just don't have the patience.

Anyhow, I can't believe so much negativity crept into a blog about a place we loved!  Back to geocaching...

Shortly after we got to the KOA I rode my bike up the street a few miles to the oldest cache in Texas "Tombstone".  Texas geocachers sure do love their cemetery caches.  A new geo-art series was put out and many of the caches required a ladder.  Corny got me a spiffy, beautiful 12' aluminum telescoping ladder. 

We soon found out whoever placed the series must've had a 30' ladder, because even with an extending 10' pole, we couldn't reach some of them!  The ladder fits nicely in the back of the Jeep.  I took it on a 3 day county run skirting along the TX/OK border, into Arkansas and Louisianna.  I found great caching in Denton and Gainesville.  

I got home and wanted to go right back out on another trip - and started planning it... but it was Corny's turn.  He had an appointment with his Florida urologist for some imaging test.  He took a week and a half van trip and saw Shorty and some friends from Fay's RV Park.  The day after he left I signed up for a Six Flags membership, Dining Plan and drink refill bottle.  I went almost every day for lunch - turkey legs, tacos, tamales, Panda Express "Chop Six" and giant pretzels until Corny got back. 

The current plan is to stay in northern New Mexico for the summer (at an elevation around 7000') then southern AZ for the winter.  Corny will take another van trip to Vancouver to see some filming in July/August.  He got his passport renewed.  The van is in storage at Arlington.  All six of us (Corny, me, Dolly, Poco, Ruffles and Piggie) will take the Jeep back from NM to get it; then I will solo back to NM in the Jeep geocaching and visiting the Six Flags in Arlington and in Oklahoma City.  Yay!

For those of you keeping score, here are the movies I've seen on three visits to the AMC 18.  During one visit, it felt like my seat was shaking.  I changed seats, but still felt the shaking.  The theater is on the third floor of the mall.  I found out there were two tornadoes nearby!  Corny had packed everybody into the van and drove to the mall parking garage for a couple hours, listening to the radio and studying the atlas, learning all the cities and counties in Tornado Alley.

Office Hours (Ardyn Izunia x Reader) Ch.5

Finally, it’s here! The 5th and final chapter of my fanfic is complete, yay! Big shout out to @verdinium for the motivation and also to @poisonous-panda and @ardyn-enters-your-askbox for starting this whole thing. And also a big shout out to all of you readers for....well, reading this story.

So without further ado: the finale.

You sighed in exhaustion as you finished modifying the last Magitek Armor, finally completing the requisition manifest so they could be shipped to their bases within the provinces of Accordo. It had been a tough few days of painstaking work, but you and your team managed to pull through and finished on time. Despite the success you felt, you were more concerned about a certain amber-eyed Chancellor; or lack thereof. It had been 3 weeks since your little adventure in the elevator and since then you haven’t seen hair or hide of the man. And it wasn’t you alone who had begun to notice, as just last week you heard Ravus complaining about the magenta-haired devil and wondering where the hell he was. Ardyn Izunia seemed to have simply vanished from Zegnautus entirely with no one aware of his current whereabouts.

And with the Chancellor currently “missing” from the Keep, your focus has often been drifting back to said man more frequently, occasionally dazing off in the middle of a repair job. Biggs and Wedge once tried to call you three times in your distracted state as you overfilled your teacup and flooded the counter with tea. And though you said your distracted state was due to a lack of sleep, the two men simply shared a grin that reminded you of school children hiding an inside joke from their teacher. Regardless of their actions, yours were certainly unprofessional; so you decided to dive into your work properly. Making sure the manufacturing line was running smoothly, repairing any equipment that could be salvaged, training new soldiers about tactical gear, and finishing requisition orders that needed to be shipped to their designated bases.  And though it worked well enough when the sun was high, the Chancellor managed to crawl his was back into your mind when the shadows came to play.

"Commander (l/n)!" A young soldier called, running up to you.

"Yes, what is it?” you asked.

“A message arrived from Chancellor Izunia for you, along side a parcel.” You calmly placed your wrench atop your workbench, wiping the sweat from your brow with a rag. “I see….please, place it within my office and I will retrieve it later.”

“Yes Commander,” the soldier saluted.

Thirty minutes later you returned to your office, covered in sweat and grease, curious as to what Ardyn had left you with and why he couldn’t deliver it himself. Atop your desk sat a rather large parcel, the box in question about 13 inches in length, 9 inches in width, and 4 inches in depth; with a simple black ribbon tied around it with a note laying on top. You frowned at the sight of the package, confused as to why the Chancellor would even send you anything. Gently tugging the letter from the ribbon, you sliced open the envelope and unfurled the parchment within.

My dear Commander (l/n),

Please see me in Hanger 5 at 18:00 PM, tomorrow night. -A

P.S. I do hope you enjoy my gift.

You re-read the letter several times, the confusion you felt increasing with each word. What on Eos could Ardyn possibly want with you after disappearing for almost an entire month? Turning to the package on your desk, you untied the ribbon and, gulping nervously, lifted the lid before peaking inside and gasping in surprise.

Within the box laid a beautiful, white dress; a silk chiffon bodice with a sweetheart neckline, chiffon capped sleeves, and a matching circle skirt. You tugged the dress out of the box, careful not to dirty the fabric while admiring the superior craftsmanship. Glancing back at the included note, you couldn’t help but feel a sense of melancholy at the generous gift. Nothing so sweet is ever without a price, and it would seem that the Chancellor was ready to finish this game between the two of you. Sitting down in your desk chair you ran a hand across the hem of the dress as a smile pulled against your lips.

If this was to be the end, then perhaps you should go out in style.

The next night you found yourself walking down the corridors of Area 03, where supplies were unloaded from the airships before being delivered across the Keep and later Gralea itself. You could not help but think of how out of place you appeared, the elegant dress a far cry from your typical armored uniform or workshop overalls. Your (h/c) locks were pinned back by a simple pearl clip, with your hair twirled into a bun against your scalp. Jewelry was not an accessory you often wore because one) it was expensive, and two) as a soldier first and foremost, you wouldn’t give the enemy the opportunity to use it against you. Still, you knew the dress needed no accessories to showcase its beauty, and you briefly wondered if Ardyn picked it for that reason.

“Though how the hell did he get my measureme- what the….What is this?”

Laying upon the floor of the corridor was a collection of (fav flower) petals, moving into a trail further down to the end of the hallway toward the direction of Hanger 5. You followed the trail of flowers toward the staff door and took a deep breath before opening the metal door.

Inside the large room stood an elegant dining table set for two with a radio sitting nearby, a sweet melody of music playing softly from the old device. Candle’s littered the area with more displays of your favorite flowers, giving the room the sweet scent of flora instead of it’s typical motor grease aroma. With the flood lights off, it looked almost as if the stars themselves had fallen from the heavens to illuminate the room. And standing in front of the table was the Chancellor; though his attire was different. Gone was his iconic trench coat, grey mantle, and old fedora, but in its place he wore a charcoal suit jacket, matching trousers, and dress shoes. Around his neck still sat his red scarf and his hands still retained his leather, fingerless gloves. He raised his amber-eyes to your own (e/c) iris’ and smirked, bowing in a dramatic yet gentlemanly manner.

“Good evening, my dear.”

You flushed crimson at the sight before you, “I…what is this?”

“Oh, I simply wished to have an enjoyable dinner with a beautiful companion, nothing more. I trust this is enough?” Ardyn spoke, raising an eyebrow in amusement.

“It’s beautiful….” You said softly, but judging from Ardyn’s smile, he heard it plain as day. “Though I am not certain Ravus would appreciate your decorating skills as much as I do, Chancellor.”

“Oh, I’m sure our dear High-Commander would not mind. But please my dear, it is after office hours, there is no need for formalities here. Please; call me Ardyn.”

“Only if you call me (f/n), instead of commander.”

Ardyn gave a laugh, “very well, (f/n), as you wish.”

You smiled and walked closer to the table, with Ardyn pulling out your chair for you. Uttering a soft word of gratitude, the Chancellor took his seat across from you. Glancing down at the plate before you saw, to your surprise, your favorite dish food cooked to perfection. Taking the fork beside your plate you cut a piece before tentatively taking a bite. It was delicious!

“This is fantastic, my compliments to the chef.” You praised, taking another bite from your plate.

“Thank you,” Ardyn replied.

You paused, looking up toward Ardyn, surprise evident on your face. “You can cook?”

“Not a skill I am most famed for, but yes; I do dabble in the culinary arts from time to time.” Ardyn smirked, taking a bite of his own cuisine.

You gave a grin, “who would have guessed: Niflheim’s Chancellor can cook.”

“Ah, ah, ah, my dear; I believe I said no titles here, correct?”

“Alright then; Ardyn can cook.” You laughed, “better?”

He smiled at you, the look causing you to pause as your heart began beating faster. “Yes.”

You looked down to your lap, trying to hide the blush that was creeping up your face. The evening continued in a similar fashion, with the two of you talking of everything and anything. Here there was no titles, no battle reports, no missions from the Emperor. Here, you two were just a man and a woman, enjoying a fine dinner and lovely conversation. You couldn’t help the joy you felt and knew that even if this was to be the end…then at least you did it all with a smile.

Another song soon came upon the radio, one you instantly recognized, causing you to grin. You stood up from your chair and took hold of Ardyn’s hands. “Come Ardyn, dance with me.”

“Oh, I’m afraid I am not much of a dancer (f/n)….” Ardyn tried to explain as you guided him to an empty section of the decorated hanger.

“It’s alright, I’ll teach you.”

“If I recall, though I may be wrong, the male is to lead the female when dancing.”

You giggled while placing his hands in the correct places. “We don’t have to waltz, we can just sway to the music.”

Ardyn sighed, “I suppose I can handle swaying….”

The song’s intro soon began to pick up just as you two started swaying back and forth to the melody, before the lyrics begun pouring out of the radio:

“Well now, that is rather rude,” Ardyn spoke, as the two of you slowly danced in a circle.

You couldn’t help but laugh, “Indeed; but karma does come around in such cases.”

Ardyn chuckled, “it seems no man is able to resist the charms of a lovely woman.”

“No man?” you asked, deliberately looking toward Ardyn’s chest instead of his piercing golden-eyes.

“No man,” he echoed, the hand on your waist rubbing small circles against your skin.

You turned your gaze to Ardyn’s face, a sad smile coming to your own. “It would seem our game is coming to an end.”

“My dear (f/n), while our little duel has been enjoyable to me….What makes you think I would keep playing when I could win?”

Your eyes widened in surprise at that, his smirk becoming smug. Your lips parted slightly before you gave a smile of absolute joy and love. He pulled you closer to his body before gently lowering his lips to your own. Despite all the encounters the two of you have had, all the teasing and tension, this was the memory you would always cherish.

“And to think, you even made dessert.” You said, your lips pressed against his own.

“I’m certain I can think of something much sweeter to eat,” Ardyn answered back in his most sly tone.

You couldn’t help but snicker at the thought of your next words. “Do your worst, Ardyn.”

“Ah, music to my ears….”

The Following Day:

“Commander (l/n), there you are.” Ravus spoke, walking toward you from the Conference Room, “I am sending you to Haulhex Armory for an inventory check. The deployment will be leaving at 12:00 PM tomorrow so please-“

“Don’t worry High-Commander, I will ensure Commander (l/n) arrives on time.” Ardyn spoke, a hand coming to rest on your shoulder.

You smiled before bowing politely to Ravus, “of course High-Commander; I will be there.”

“And now that business is out of the way, shall we continue with our meeting Commander (l/n)?”

“Certainly, Chancellor Izunia, my office is close.”

Ravus watched the two of you disappear from sight, glaring at Ardyn’s retreating back. Aranea stopped beside him, watching as you and the magenta haired devil conversed loudly, the Chancellor’s dramatic movements difficult to miss.

“…Those two had sex yesterday,” Aranea said before walking away, causing the new High-Commander to choke on nothing but air.

And there you have it, the end of my fanfic! I hope it was okay, I was literally tugging my hair out at how to end it. I’ll be starting on something new now, so be sure to tune into that.

Liveblogging HBP

HBP is on tv whoo.  (uh spoilers for HBP.  Dumbledore kills Thanos.)

Man all the romance stuff is awkward.  Esp when Harry is drooling over Malfoy and the HBP the whole movie.  Wish the Ron and Hermione stuff had been done better.  Rupert and Emma are both good actors, I don’t doubt they could have sold the heck out of it, but they barely have any scenes together where they’re not awkwardly avoiding eye contact.  How is that romantic, I ask you, David Yates?  

It’s the same with Harry/Ginny.  Harry/Hermione looks better because they actually enjoy being around each other.  Luna/Harry, too, because their scenes are cute and funny.  Heck, Harry/Malfoy even works better because even though the emotion between them is hate, it’s sooooo intense and far more compelling than awkwardness.

I will say, tho, that HARRY’s awkwardness in the Ron/Hermione scenes is hilarious.

You know what we don’t appreciate enough?  The thought and craftsmanship that went into creating the look and feel of the wizarding world, the visual worldbuilding done by the designers and artists.  Every time I watch one of these films, I’m blown away by the set design, the costumes, and how they basically build completely new design conventions from the ground up.  Shout out to MinaLima, the graphic design team.  Also costume designers Judianna Makovsky, Lindy Hemming, Jany Temine and their teams.  And whoever did the other props and vfx and sets and music and concept art and gjftygrdgvhjftu SO much great work went into these films it’s crazy.

Also, I never noticed that the girl’s uniforms have trousers instead of skirts in the winter—neato!

Snape at the Slug Club party is fuckin hilarious.  Man, they should’ve given Alan Rickman more comedic scenes.  Shoulda been more Sneep scenes in this movie in particular, given how it ends.

Wish werewolf Remus had eaten at least one Death Eater at some point.

I never noticed that the pensieve in this one is floating on thin air.  Super neato.

Why is Draco just walking around in a full suit?  At school.  Like, he packed formal wear to kill Dumbledore in.

Is it weird that I want more blood in the Sectumsempra scene?  And I think the choice to have no more dialogue after the curse was right, but I mourn the loss of “Roonil Waslib?” “It’s my nickname.”

Oh man, Harry has more chemistry with Snape’s potions book than he does with Ginny in the Room of Requirement scene.

Dude, even the fucking vanishing cabinet is so cool looking.  The design team don’t fuck around.

Felix Felicitus may be my favorite DanRad moment in the whole series.  

Dumbledore: *stares at Harry* It seems I have found another [Horcrux].  But this time I cannot hope to destroy it alone.  Once again I must ask too much of you, Harry.

Me: *from the back, mouth full of popcorn* HE’S SAYING YOU’RE A HORCRUX, HARRY. 

Dumbledore: *casually acknowledges he knew about the cupboard and did jack shit about it*

I love how in the inferi cave scene, Harry, under Dumby’s orders, poisons him and if Snape hadn’t come along, probably would have been the one to kill him.  That’s some grim shit, sure to traumatize Harry for years.  Fun!  Also Snape/Harry parallels are my fav.

Dunno about the choice to make such a pivotal scene black and white.  Would’ve liked to see just a bit of color, used selectively.

The inferi are one of the few creature designs I’m disappointed by.  Wish they were more human looking.  Or just, ya know, scary period.

Guys the soundtrack is soooooo good.

Draco fuckin changed into his Dumbledore killing suit.  Gotta look fresh when ur murdering the headmaster.

Snape should say “Yippe kay yay, motherfucker” when he knocks Dumbledore off the tower.

Really can’t understand why there are so many Harry and Hermione scenes without Ron in this movie.  At the end, it’s just the two of them having a touching conversation, and then the camera pans to show that Ron is also there, sitting a few feet away, waiting for them to include him or something lmao.  It’s really like Ron’s just a part of their trio for comedic relief.  Why u do this, film?

And film’s over.  Many questionable choices were made, but I still love this shit and the nostalgia is real.  Aw man, now I wanna write that one HP chaptered fic I have, but I lost all my outlines months ago.  Arg.
