Hey! Thanks for peeking in on my Dragalia Lost RP Blog! Chances are, you have no idea who my character is or what Dragalia Lost Is about, and my pages aren’t helping. That’s okay! I’m under no delusion that Dragalia Lost took off any harder than it tragically actually did, nor do I think my actual about page as it is - or even as it probably will be - actually suffices.
Instead of making you wait for a long About page you probably won’t have the time to read anyways (meant with no disrespect! We’re all busy people), have the significant bullet points of the character I’m writing.
Zena is the youngest (twin) member of the royal family of a country known as New Alberia. Her role is acting as the Auspex - the mana-gifted princess that acts to keep the world and its mana purified and protected. At least, for as long as she could hold such a peaceful position in peaceful times…
To disrespect a great game by simplifying the plot, Zena is a deeply traumatized character whose backstory consists of being possessed by a great evil and harming/killing her family and the people of her family’s kingdom that she truly loves and adores; losing her beloved brother to said possession and living in her world after, a world that now feared and resented her; traveling across alternate realities to find a world that can actually win, so she can save her own world, only to witness the tragic devastation of so many others; ultimately saving her world, only to witness its end very shortly after; and ultimately being left to save what’s left of a reality that isn’t her’s.
Unlike canon, where everything is restored with a neat little bow and some Convenient Amnesia after, Zena restores possibility to reality and grants the multiverse new life with the help of allies; here, she brings back the successful reality back, but as a new origin point, rather than restoring everything, leaving her without a world of her own. She holds everything; the loss, the trauma, the guilt, and the hope; with her from there on.
For crossover’s sake, she has also been dimensionally displaced after all’s said and done, as a result of her being left only in a world that already HAS its version of her. With no place in the world she helped save, she can only wait for a world that will take her.
My goal with writing Zena is to put a focus on her moving forward separate from her trauma, with only herself clinging to the pain she’s felt. She has to say goodbye to a lot to face tomorrow, and what I want most is for her to form new bonds she can never give away, that can grant her a new life after all she lost, even if she’s starting from nothing.
My central focus, given I’m writing a rather niche character, IS to be crossover friendly, and in fact crossover-reliant. Zena is a Lost presence from an ended world with nowhere to go but where fate has brought her. The crux of many of her interactions will be finding a place for herself wherever she’s found herself. Note that I can, in fact, stick with Dragalia characters and keep her in her world, but a lack of Dragalia blogs makes this hard to rely on.
Though traumatized and rather lonely, Zena is a loving, hopeful and gentle soul, and predominately a healer. While she wields offensive capabilities with light and dark magic she can use to protect what she loves, she would rather use her power to heal than destroy. She is very friendly and while somewhat embittered by everything she’s gone through, she’ll express nothing but kindness unless given a reason not to. Through and through, in spite of everything, she’s the same auspex she once was… just with a much heavier weight to bear, and memories of a world that was now her’s alone.
