ik we get ponyboys perspective of wut happened to darry after his parents died (most literally the book) but wut do u think was sodas perspective of watching darry before their parents died as the most popular guy in school/going to college then essentially have to become and be stuck as the one thing darry most obviously did not want to be (stuck in tulsa/ not gt college)

Before I get into this complete devastation I want to direct you to this post! Not exactly the same, but it made me want to walk into traffic 🥰

So anyway, this was super interesting to consider. I imagine Soda definitely looking up to Darry as the stud, the golden child, literally just the coolest guy ever. He had Soc friends, he had greaser friends, and could square up with pretty much anyone who was dumb enough to want the equivalent of a baseball bat to the jaw.

And on top of that, Darry was on a one-track train out of Tulsa, heading out to college soon. In Soda’s eyes, Darry had everything and he was real damn happy with it.

So when all of their lives just crashed around them, Soda obviously had his own problems to deal with before he took notice of anyone else’s. But when his own dust settled and he could see a little more clearly, the change in Darry was definitely obvious. For the first month or so, Darry was just kind of numb. He went through all the necessary proceedings stoically, robotically, never let Soda in on anything regarding child services or the state or boys homes. Sometimes, when they were sitting at the table trying to eat Darry’s best efforts at recipes from their mom’s cookbook, and Pony was too stuck in his own grief moving his food around the plate with his fork, Soda watched Darry get a blank look in his eyes, like he’s staring at something that doesn’t exist, completely detached from reality.

(Soda’s always known that Pony and Darry are more similar than either of them think. Just not in the good ways.)

And for a little, it happened often. Darry comes home from work and sits down in their dad’s recliner, and Soda’s watching the television but in his peripheral he can see Darry drift off to someplace else, and all he can hope is that it’s someplace better.

Soda noticed all the little things. He didn’t smile to himself, didn’t laugh, didn’t tell Pony or Soda to put out their cigs around him, because it didn’t much anymore if he breathed the smoke in. He didn’t talk about his day more than a dismissive wave and that it was fine, he didn’t go out in the evenings.

Darry was against it the entire time, but Soda dropping out of high school seemed to be the thing that officially made him grown in Darry’s eyes. Darry finally pulled him aside when Pony was asleep and together they went through their grocery list, Darry teaching him how to shop cheap, but he always kept things like the bills far away from Soda’s eyes. Soda offered Darry money from the DX, Darry took it, and their lights stayed on and water kept running, but Soda doesn’t know what’s really going on with the numbers. Only Darry does.

Soda knows he’s always been protected by Darry. Since they were little, and even months ago, if Soda ever had any issues with anyone, Darry had his back. Soda didn’t think he was naive about much of anything, but he realizes pretty quickly that Darry will never let anyone have his back the way he does everyone else. Sure, Darry can lean on him, but he’ll be right back to the grind the second he can.

Seeing Darry go from wearing his college sweatshirt into town to his battered work clothes and tool belt placed a guilt in Soda’s heart that he couldn’t ever shake. The worst part was that he never complained about it, not to them. Soda’s beyond grateful to Darry, he’ll never make up for it for as long as he lives. But at the same time he just wants his brother back, and he knows it’ll never happen.

The more I write about Soda the more I love him, ty for helping give my guy some justice🙏 (i hope this is kind of what u wanted to hear abt, sorry if i just yapped in ur ear abt nothing lmfao)

• Now, I ordered this copy of GT7 PS4 game version for ₱ 1,490 discounted (₱ 1,500 off) from Datablitz's PlayStation "Incredible deals sale" [CLICK ME!] on December 27th, 2022 via Lazada PH 🇵🇭🛒🌐. Huge deal for me to get my hands on! The original price of GT7 PS4 copy was ₱ 2,990. 😃🏷️💿🎮

• Upon opening the case, the GT7 PS4 version has two discs instead of one (like you've seen in other PS4 CD games). And speaking of one disc, the PS5 version of GT7 has the latter. Pretty interesting to see here, with the last recorded was the "GT Sport Spec II" for the PS4 also has two discs, which is very uncommon for some [CLICK ME!]. But, the most memorable in the Gran Turismo franchise was GT2 in 1999 (for the PS1), where they shipped two discs; the Arcade mode disc, and the Simulation mode disc. If you want more information about GT7's format disc, then please [CLICK ME!].

• I've been there before albeit a fake pirated disc because I can't afford an original PS1 disc. And decades later (after passing through PS gen consoles), I managed to snag an original PlayStation copy game disc using my funds! Isn't it cool owning two discs in one game, huh you two!? 😁

• Finally, side comparison with my existing copy of GT Sport PS4 game gifted by my little bro on December 25th, 2020 (Christmas Day). 😊🎁🎄

• Now, I haven't finish my GT Sport progress, I'm still dealing with "Circuit Experience", as well as league races & the addition of "Lewis Hamilton Time Trial Challenge". Although, the latter, I need to pony up some dough for the PSN credits & buy this DLC expansion. You know, if only it could add it to the game already, then I don't have to pay extra. 😕 Damn, I want a challenge "The Maestro" himself.

Fun fact: Did you know, that I'm a fan of (Sir) Lewis Hamilton? 😁 🇬🇧🏎️ I remember seeing him on TV screen live when he drives the Mclaren F1 team back in 2007. Yes, at the time, Lewis was part of the Mclaren F1 team, and he helped the team to dominate the F1 team competition. As of 2023, Lewis was part of the "Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team" 🏎️🇬🇧 since debut in 2012 (after he departure from the Mclaren F1 team).

Another Fact: Did you know, that you can transfer your GT Sport save data to GT7? 🙂💾➡️💾That's right! Much like other previous GT installments, I can carry my existing GT Sport save data game to a new GT installment instead of creating new data for GT7 from scratch. And that's exactly what I'm gonna attempt. 😁

• And lastly, I want a pointed out something... I noticed, there was a broken tooth upon opening the disc cover of the same racing game. 😕 So, what did I do? Well, I snapped that piece & glue it with super glue, along with scotch tape to hold it up in place before I snap the disc tray like you've seen in this picture. 🙂

Overall:

• I love owning an original game copy, and this GT7 for the PS4 is no exception. 😁💿🎮 And don't worry, I will finish my GT Sport progress if I have free time (of course) before I proceed to the new Gran Turismo installment! I can't wait to drive old & new cars, as well as other features. Are you excited, you four?

When I woke up, I must have gone back to bed without realizing it. I woke up 30 minutes late and was super tired from missing 2 hours of sleep last night. I skipped cleaning since I was already behind schedule and took my shower. Then I made a hearty oatmeal and corned beef hash breakfast to fuel my tired being.

For work I warmed up with leg sketches. 57 was not there today since he's at FWA I just realized. DS showed up for a bit. After sketches I finished GT's commissions which turned out great. Then I decided to end early since I was so out of it. Instead I went to play Roblox horses in call with TK and our pals. After they left an hour before lunch, I took a brief sort of nap in my chair with my legs tucked up into my hoodie. Then I made lunch. Lunch was my homemade chicken stew, I made 2 servings. It turned out okay this time but nothing special. It made me 30 minutes late to afternoon work. While cooking I watched S1E3 of Black Mirror which had me feeling too AWARE, it left me feeling kinda icky.

For work I did today's Patreon request which included a bizarre and obscure character I didn't recognize. Then I spent an hour on a personal piece that I thought I'd finish today but I couldn't get it quite right. Then I finished the body for my low poly pony VRchat avatar.

This evening I took a little bit of time alone to chill and watch something before joining TK and friends again. There I played KSP while they played their things. We talked about random things. When TK left, I thought the other guys would leave but we kept talking. Then WX left and it was just me and MC. I thought he'd leave but we also just talked until DS was free.

I played KSP with her while she worked on her fursuit's teeth. We had furry videos on the side and she seemed very energetic and in a good mood. After she headed up to bed, I perfected the little plane I made and waited to show her. I did my dishes early so I wouldn't have to worry about them. I got a little stressed because I had a timeline planned for when I'd do things and it was getting thrown off but in hindsight I should have known it would work out like it always does. When she got in bed we did our puzzles and then she knocked out. I found out my plane can't carry out it's mission so I have to figure out something else.

Once again I didn't really do anything to practice today's ACT topic. I think the problem is I have no solid goal in mind. All I did was think about regret and how I've been learning that it's a powerful tool to direct me in a direction thats more aligned with what I actually want out of life.

I for all intents and purposes since i was 13 (now 26) wanted to be taken in by a giant FlutterShy yeah The one from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic!

But specifically i also desired to be Smol. like the size of a mouse in the show. I dont think i wanted to be a pet per se. more like a friend? that just happens to need a bit of care? its a silly fantasy i know. but i think She'd be down with it. if she wasnt well id never force it. but also this is a fictional fantasy situation.

She'd like to be a tree, i'd like to be fluttershys tiny friend.

It’s not as easy as switching sides...

I recently saw a video by someone called Cartoonshi called “The Flanderization of Steven Universe”. It was to show that Steven isn’t as Passive as people make him out to be. And that he did not forgive the Diamond Authority, he only redeemed them. I do agree with them about Steven not forgiving them, but I don’t believe Steven Reformed them in that finale. He only showed them the Road to Redemption.

For me, Redemption isn’t as easy as being forgiven. It’s something that has to be earned. And the Diamond Authority’s biggest weakness is that we don’t see their travel. We only see the end of it, as they went from “we want Steven because he makes us better” to “we’re actually trying to prove we changed our ways.” You even see Yellow Diamond working on repairing the damage she caused and White Diamond giving up control to others. Would have loved to have seen that development, but they’re names aren’t on the title...

My Little Pony has numerous examples of a Redemption Arc. From the Arguably Best Equestria Girls movie with Sunset Shimmer, the episode long for Gilda, the “is he really redeemed” of Discord, and even Starlight Glimmer, who had a season to work her way up from former “enslaver of village” to “leader of misfits who saved Equestria”. All but Discord worked hard to prove that they are indeed on team good guy.

But the biggest example of a redemption arc would be Vegeta. His story lasted a LONG time. Starting as an employee of Frieza, to being an unlikely ally with the Z-Team, to slowly loving his family, a relapse to beat Goku, and finally giving up his life to protect his family. This continued in Super as we see Vegeta more worried about the birth of his daughter over entering a multiversal tournament. And the Bingo Scene from the Movie.

Even GT showed Vegeta’s growth from when we first saw him. There, he’s with his family and even going with Bra shopping. Imagine Saiyan Saga Vegeta waiting around for his daughter to go clothes shopping. This is a man who cemented himself on the Good Guys side. While at times he may act like a jerk, you can not deny he is now a Hero.

Which brings me to my point of Redemption. Being redeemed is not when you begin your face turn, it’s something you have to earn. Vegeta, Starlight, Sunset, even the Diamond Authority showed that they were more than willing to prove to everyone they changed. Discord... Not so much. But what do you believe a Redemption Path takes?
