i'm not very creative when it comes to these things, but i'll try my best!!

of course, there's the classic hyperburp stuff: earthquakes, shattered glass, cracked floors/walls/ceilings, etc. these all come with the territory, but i still felt like i should at least mention them hahaha

but now onto the more specific stuff

- random one, but someone's cleaning up a room or packing things to move or what have you. there's something on the top shelf that they need to get down but they can't reach it. they're too lazy to get a ladder, so they instead let out a burp powerful enough to shake the item loose, and they catch it before it falls to the floor. kinda a silly idea but that's why i like it so much hahaha

- OBSESSED with burps that overpower things that shouldn't be overpowered. for example, someone in the nosebleeds of a concert. the music is blaring, the bass is pumping, and you can't even hear the person standing next to you unless they're practically screaming directly in your ear. however, right during the most exciting part of the show, someone accidentally lets out a burp so loud that it cuts through all the chaos with perfect clarity, and the band on stage is forced to stop playing because no one can hear them play over the noise.

- also love the... "windy" aspect of hyperburps, for lack of a better word. for example, someone is walking home alone at night when a mugger or something approaches them and tries to attack. as an act of self defense, they let out a burp so powerful that it creates a strong gust of wind, blowing them back on their feet. no matter how hard they try to walk forward, they're immediately pushed back by this burp. eventually, they become so tired that their legs give up, and the burp blows them clear down the street.

- hyperburps don't always have to be about the power, though, they can be about length, too. like someone leaning back after finishing their last plate at a buffet and casually opening their mouth and letting out a semi decent burp. but then it just keeps going. and going. and going. and going and going and going. everyone can't help but stare as the burp continues on, not showing any signs of stopping. this goes on for a solid few minutes, if not more, and the person letting it rip couldn't give less of a fuck because it feels absolutely amazing to get all this air out.

- hyperburp talking... someone letting out an impossibly long burp (like the one described above) but instead of just letting it go uninterrupted, they just. talk through it. and not just a couple words. no, they'll have a full on back and forth conversation all while talking through one simultaneous burp. jesus that... is so hot to me.

Hiii so I've seen a bunch of people asking "why did Harry agree to Holivia?" and I've also seen many people answer their own opinions, so I'd like to give my own too if you don't mind. So I think that this whole thing is mainly to promote the movie but also acts as another beard for Harry so I thinlk he just saw it as that, just another PR stunt like all the many he's done before and his/her/the movie's team just saw the promotion (and possible money) they could get out of it. So all that problematic aspect we saw, like the fact that she's the director and he's an actor which could be seen as he slept with her to get the role (I saw many from GP saying that) they just overlooked it, like they didn't think too hard about it. Remember how some articles came out saying they were very lowkey during filming after they got all that backslash?? I think that was some kind of damage control. Stunts are not particularly known for having a solid story that actually makes sense, you know? Hahaha

Hello anon! Thank you for sharing your opinion. To be honest, and maybe it was very naive of my part, but I didn’t particularly think Holivia would work as a beard, I thought it was to promote the movie and that was it. As things are progressing the way they are, IMO this is definitely going beyond a stunt for promo and it really could be used as something “safe” during My Policeman. As it was discussed before, having a girlfriend would give him the *freedom* to talk about sexuality and closeting during the promo of MP, and even to place himself as part of the community.

As for the work ethics, age difference and the homewrecker narrative, I think this is all part of the stunt. I don’t agree with the premise of PR people always doing a lazy job and not thinking things through. Maybe it doesn’t make sense to us because we’re watching it closely and we can tell it’s a PR stunt but if it wasn’t working people wouldn’t be talking about it. This is literally their job and stunts exist to make a fuss about something. I wonder if people would be so interested about Holivia if he was dating a girl around his age, not his boss, and no marriage background. I wonder if babygate would be such a huge scandal if it wasn’t about a oopsie baby with a random girl in the club. I wonder if Haylor would be such a drama if Harry hadn’t fuck her over so she could write bitchy songs about him afterwards.

The scandal and the drama is part of it, it’s what really makes people interested. And it may look like it’s being terrible for their image, but people forget about things easily. 'Cause nobody cares when you're boring. If keeping their images intact and truthful was a concern, they wouldn’t the using stunts in the first place, you can’t have both things.

I think Win is my favorite character in UWMA. It’s hard to choose, because I love everyone, but if I could be anyone in that show, I’d wanna be Win. So he’s my fave.

least favorite character in 1?

Oh, that’s a hard-- wait, no it isn’t. Chaos. Chaos is my least favorite character. In a love-to-hate kind of way? I mean, all the villains are obviously the worst. That’s the point of them being villains. And even though Chaos and Sterling are antagonists, they’re not the same as the villains. (Okay, so like, Chaos tried to kills Sophie... but WHATEVER.) Chaos, he’s my least favorite.

favorite season of 5 + 2?

Well, so far UWMA only has one season, so that’s easy. And for The Good Place... that’s tricky. I think either season 3 or 4. Both were so good. All of it is good.

favorite episode of 1, 4, and 5?

fffffffff, this whole answer could be my favorite episode(s) of Leverage. I CAN’T PICK. But it’s somewhere between... The Last Dam Job, The Queen’s Gambit Job, The Rundown Job, The Broken Wing Job, the- fuck okay, I like a lot of Leverage episodes. For The Witcher, my favorite episode is probably 6, Rare Species, the dragon hunt episode. Because reasons. I don’t think I have a favorite episode of The Good Place... but The Trolley Problem in season 2 stands out to me.

how long have you watched 1?

I THINK since about 2011. It’s hard to say cause it was sometime when the show was still airing but also being marathoned, so even though I know the first episode I saw, I don’t know if it was when it was new? BUT ANYWAY. Somewhere between mid-late 2011 and early 2012. I guess.

how did you become interested in 3?

Welp, promo stuff for it was all over my dash and once UWMA ended, I needed something else to watch haha! I’m glad, I like it~

oooooh, toss up between Henry Cavill and Joey Batey. So maybe I’ll just pick the horses who play Roach. :P

Leverage. Hands down. I mean, nothing compares to Leverage for me. No matter how good any other show is.

lmao, The Witcher and 2gether. No, I mean, I don’t think it would. I’m sure someone could write an AU going either way - 2gether Witcher AU where Sarawat is a Witcher and Tine is a Bard? Or would Tine be the Witcher and Wat be the Bard??? Because Wat is the musician. But he wouldn’t have music be his profession, as he said in the show. And his personality fits a Witcher better.

Or Witcher AU where Jaskier has someone hitting on him and he uses Geralt as his fake boyfriend to chase them off? lmao I love the ideas of both of these AUs. But I don’t think they could exist in each other’s worlds. Though I do think Sarawat and Geralt would get along. As would Jaskier and Tine.

How much our comic and it's story we're going to change during the years of creation was the biggest and most jarring aspect for sure. There's scripts and thumbs that were all made before we ventured out to make GJS with paths completely different from what we initially thought we would take that have completely changed how we approach not only writing but reading webcomics too. Webcomics as a medium have the biggest connection to time, whether it be production or the consumption, they have this opportunity to exist and transform in the long hours it takes to enjoy and read them. It's honestly one of the biggest advantages imho. To see a story slowly unfold, listening to ur audience reactions, peer critiques, or new inspiration can make such a drastic and intense impact on a long form work- its both jaw dropping and humbling to be apart of!(edited)

For me it was the community aspect of comics. I knew a community existed on the reader side of things (comments!), but I didn't expect the creator side to be how it is! I don't know why, but for some reason I kind of always thought that all of us were sort of throwing our comics out from the void... I guess that was me looking at comics from a reader's point of view! But as soon as I started making comics, I started meeting people who made them too... and it's been incredible!

Community definitely one of the big things, much like Deo pointed. I was kinda expecting to have get connections through readers, but it's much more with other creators, which is super satisfying in it's own way. Also gonna second Krispy's comment about how time affects how you see your story's past and future. A lot of things changed in the past four years that made my comic change as well and having so much time to think each individual scene allows them to be much more complex and interesting than they would when I first thought them through. Having the time really helps. This also kinda touches the topic of personal change too, which affects how I write and what feels most important to focus on and that's interesting to think about as well

How long things will take, the longer the story goes on! I started out being able to complete a page in 2h but then I found more I wanted to try on each page (colours, layout, composition etc) and even wanted to extend certain scenes. With 500 pages planned, I definitely thought I’d be farther along by now, heading into AWT’s first year anniversary in a month. That being said, I’m also enjoying the ride and it’s all thanks to the great community here and making connections with other comics folks/readers. I never expected to get comments and so each one has been a treasure to read.

I hadn't realized how much I put myself into my comic! My friends who read it have all said that it's incredibly in my voice and reflects my opinions and worldviews Before I shared it with people I hadn't thought of it in that way at all

As an artist, I didn't expect how my comic production and mindset will change. Once I started comics, it brought out my ideas from thoughts to a physical form. I start to invest more time into it. Each project evolved through each chapter. How to balance script writing to a polished piece. I put alot of time and research in my works. It makes me glad to hear other creators do the same. I'm not the crazy artist who's wasting her time. One of the positive change was meeting other creators, how we give advice and receive praise.(edited)

I really overestimated the "if you build it they will come" aspect of webcomics lol. Like, you actually have to work to advertise your comic in order for people to read it. I'm kind of somewhere in between. I advertise my comic mostly because it is all I wanna talk about, like Deo. But I also don't think it's gotten me many readers. Most of my readers came as far as I can tell because I was making something that appealed to them. (The whole "if you build it, they will come" thing.) Although, I really don't have a big audience, I do have an audience, and I am certain most of them came from me just posting.

I think it's determined a lot by luck, and also, how big your niche's audience is to begin with (and some skill tbh).

I've been featured on both. It certainly got people to check it out and even sub, but retaining those people (even if they've subbed!!!) is a different story. I think my story is just not the right type for the platforms, but eh, even if 99% of the platform users aren't into the kinda thing I'm making, 1% increase is still an increase.

Which is another thing I learned over the course of running this comic, specifically (since the internet has changed so much after my first two attempts). Just because the majority of your subs don't actually read the comic, doesn't mean your work sucks. Today's internet caters to casual users, and there's a bajillion factors affecting who's actually reading your stuff.

i've never been featured by webtoons but i've seen series grow from 100 followers to 10k overnight

I put my new comic on webtoon in november 2019, and in 1 month I crawled up to.... maybe 50 subs?(granted I only put up one episode and then paused for a bit)

Then in December I started updating it weekly and got placed in the new and hot section of the app

And bam, 6k subs

It last 2 weeks and then the section updated and all growth stopped, and subs went down by 10 or so over the next week

One unexpected thing for me was how many people I would meet because of my comic. It surprised me greatly that I found so many cool people through the comic community and made the friends I have made now. Love you all

The unexpected thing for me was just how much you have to just...predict...what the market will want to read. Like even if you research a whole lot, and you draw really well, and have been doing art professionally, you can still strike out. It's a humbling experience, but being able to just let go of poorly received pages and move on and try things differently is a lot of the battle for doing a webcomic. It teaches you how to fail gracefully because...it's all a process of learning your readers better. Even if they're few at first.

My major unexpected thing was how much my initial ideas change as I work through a page. Everything from the expressions, dialogue, and layout can change as I look at it and 'solve' it more closely than I did in thumbnails. There are pages I look back on and realize they are ENTIRELY different than what I had first sketched. And they're better for it. Allowing myself the freedom to edit during the artwork... it's created some majorly awesome opportunities.

If anything, I wish I made even more changes-- I feel like my page layouts tend to be pretty standard, I do a lot of pages with the 3 rows of 2 panels each, and I want to break out of that more. But... well, that's a work in progress.

Boracay 2019 (a long overdue post)

My boyfriend and I have always loved travelling. We’ve been to different places already, but this is the first time that we’ve travelled to a place unfamiliar to us. After the news of the scheduled re-opening of Boracay surfaced, I told him that we must go check the place out. Luckily, he said yes because he really wanted to go there ever since. We just have to wait for the perfect time to plan out everything.

We love travelling, but we also hate spending (too much). So, what we did, we waited for the perfect time to book our plane tickets and our room accommodations (via agoda) – in short, we waited for promos 😅

Plane Tickets

October came and airlines still don’t have seat sale promos. Luckily, Air Asia (my go-to airline when broke HAHA) offers cheap plane tickets. For only ₱3,150/head, we were able to book a roundtrip ticket to and from Kalibo. If booked with other airlines, the minimum one-way airfare ticket to Kalibo is around ₱2,500.

You might be wondering why we booked via Kalibo instead of Caticlan which is closer to Boracay Island. Well, my dear friends, the answer is simple – plane tickets to Caticlan are more expensive than Kalibo’s. Although, I don’t recall how much the difference exactly is, but if you travel via Kalibo and ride a one-hour van trip to Caticlan, it will only cost you ₱175/head.

Room Accommodation

Since I had work in the morning, we had to schedule our flights at night. We arrived in Kalibo at around 11pm and stayed overnight at RB Lodge Kalibo. It is an inn located at the heart of Kalibo and the van terminal to Caticlan is just across it.

In Boracay, we booked our room accommodation at White Beach de Boracay. It is a beach-front building beside Astoria Hotel in Station 1. The rooms have wifi access, air-conditioner, refrigerator and a bathroom with hot and cold shower. For only ₱4,803 we were able to book a two-night, three-day room accommodation thru Agoda.

Kuripot tip: There are a lot of activities in Boracay, so if you have plans of visiting the island, book at budget-friendly hotels ;) ALSO, I just learned this from a friend (sayang!), but if you want to have less expensive room rates, download Airbnb so you can have  ₱2,200 OFF from your first booking (minimum of  ₱3,500 worth of booking). You can register here.

How To Get There?

If you’ll be coming from Kalibo Airport, there are vans there bound to Caticlan Jetty Port. The fare is only ₱175. But if coming from Caticlan Airport, you can rent trikes to the jetty port, though I am not sure how much it costs.

Upon arriving at Caticlan Jetty Port, you’ll have to present a hotel booking confirmation and an ID at the entrance of the port.

After showing your proof, you’ll have to pay some fees: env’t fee - ₱75/head; terminal fee - ₱100/head; and boat fare - ₱25/head. The trip to Boracay Island from the port is around 15 mins.

From Boracay Island port, you can ride a van, trike or habal-habal going to your station. Since we are not familiar with the place, we rented a trike.

Initially, our plan was to walk to our hotel because we saw people walking with their trolleys and stuff. But because we were very lazy to walk and carry our own stuff, we decided to rent a trike and pay ₱120. It was only when we arrived at our hotel when realized how far the port is from Station 1. Good thing we (are lazy-walkers and) decided to ride a trike 😂

DAY 1

The first thing we did after checking in was to look for restos. There are many restos in Boracay but it’s impossible to find a cheap/sulit one. Almost every resto was crowded because it was lunch time, so we had a difficult time finding a place to eat. Good thing we checked this small resto beside Astoria which sells fresh seafood – by fresh, I mean, you get to choose diff types of seafood that are still alive (and swimming 😂) Although I wasn’t able to take a picture of their mini aquarium, I have pictures of their menu 😅 They also offer meat dishes.

After eating, we decided to make our first day as our “rest day” since the next two days will be filled with activities. We roamed around the island and checked the ‘changes’ after its rehab. I must say, comparing it from the previous pictures I’ve seen online, Boracay really has become much cleaner. Local staffs/security are found everywhere, and they watch and fine anyone who litters. Trash bins are also present all over the island, so there’s no excuse not to throw your garbage at the right place.

Since we want to ‘fully experience’ Boracay, I wanted to try having my hair braided. But I guess, I made the wrongest decision of my life. Hahaha

I was charged ₱650 for this braid. HAHAHA. This is prolly my most unforgettable experience in Boracay. As per the ate who did the braids, the regular price for a braid is ₱250. But since she added yarns, there’s an additional ₱100 per yarn; I had FOUR YARNS. HAHAHA. IMAGINE WHAT MY FACE LOOKED LIKE WHEN I WAS ABOUT TO PAY! I told her to remove the yarns, but she said I would have to pay another ₱250 because she would have to re-do my braid. I was pissed, but I just had to let it go and not have my vacation ruined bec of that 🙂

While I was complaining how expensive my braid was, my boyfriend had his henna tattoo. And no, I did not ask him to have my name henna tattoed on his neck. It was his (sweet gesture) own decision. He was charged ₱250 for a four-letter tattoo.

Of course, we ended our day by watching the beautiful sunset near the shore. We were so caught in the moment that we forgot to take pictures of the sunset. Also, we had samgyupsal for dinner! 😆

DAY 2

For our second day, we booked an all-day tour at Ariel’s Point. It is an island 20-30 minutes away from Boracay. The package costs ₱2,800.00/pax and covers the following:

UNLIMITED BEER and ALCOHOLIC DRINKS (yes, you read that right)

Non-stop Snacks

Buffet Lunch

5-meter, 10-meter, and 15-meter high cliff jump activity

Water activities such as: Snorkeling, Stand-up Paddle Board and Kayak

Very nice, friendly and accommodating staff. LIKE REALLY, REALLY NICE.

While on our way back to Boracay Island, one of tour guides initiated a drinking game. He started spinning a bottle and whoever the bottle points, s/he has to drink the alcohol straight from the bottle.

Sadly, Ariel’s Point is closed today until after two months. I don’t know exactly why, but my dad who’s been there a week ago, relayed this info to me.

Day 3

For our third and final day, we decided to book island activities. But since our hotel accommodation is only until 12nn, we only booked 2 activities: Parasailing and Helmet Diving.

Parasailing

The original price of Parasailing is ₱2,500/pax for 15 minutes. Good thing, we met Kuya Loyd, a kuya who works at our hotel and offered us a much cheaper price. He gave us a ₱300 discount, because he has connections (that we don’t have HAHA).

For a while, it was fun. But because of the strong winds, our canopy was leading us to different directions, which made me a bit nauseous.

Helmet Diving

Because I was a bit nauseous, I kinda didn’t enjoy this activity. The pressure on the helmet was too much for me that I found it kind of heavy. BUT, I loved the view and I saw Nemo (yes, I know it’s called clownfish but I prefer to call it Nemo).

Before going down, you’ll have to sign an agreement form in which you’ll have to assess your health state. Because I was desperate to check what the bottom looks like, I just checked ‘yes’ to everything. BUT PLEASE, DON’T DO WHAT I DID. I AM NOT A GOOD EXAMPLE!

The activity costs ₱1,500/pax but because we had Kuya Loyd, we got it for ₱1,200 only! He is such a helpful friend. (in Lily’s [How I Met Your Mother] voice)

Important Reminder

Well the best thing I could remind you is to bring extra money wherever you go. Since Boracay re-opened, everything became pricey. The price of anything that is being sold there is a quarter higher than it was before. Some locals say that they are trying to recover from the income lost during its rehab. Well, I couldn’t blame them. But what’s irritating is some local businesses are taking the ‘recover thing’ on a higher level that the prices are unreasonable. Exhibit A: the yarns of my braid.

Despite the pricey vacation, I must say I had fun and I’m definitely going back to try the other activities! Au revoir, Boracay!

Appreciation Post 2 (while slightly being a rant post)

God knows how stressed I am with work (I mean who isn't), and he knows how I freaking miss my family (if I could go home everyday, I would).

There are literally times that I wanted to give up and quit my job, but I don't. Why? 'Coz I am not a quitter...never have and never will be. Chzz hahaha. But yeah, I don't give up easily, however, sadly, I get stressed easily.

What freaks me out is that even on weekends, I can't seem to catch a break. When I'm at home, I still think about work, my assignees and all the other things. Which is why, the Friday hang-out with Ate Danie and Ate Sheens was a breathe of fresh air--something I haven't had for a while.

Little did I know 'twas only the beginning...

So remember I said I went to Katipunan on a spur of the moment decision? Like I literally just didn't want to go home so I called Lan and asked him out. Fortunately for me, he was available.

So there you go, I arrived at Katip at 5 minutes to midnight via commute and I mean bus, fx, jeep and everything. We went to Lan Kwai without us both dropping our things at Blue.

When we got there, it wasn't the chill kind of place I was imagining it to be or maybe we just weren't the loud-ish type anymore, I don't know. Nonetheless, we stayed because they had good drinks. We each ordered our Baby Fishbowls and Lan ordered a 3-shot drink, I think it was called Lemon Drop (and ghad, it tasted like the cleaning chemicals in the bathroom!).

We were there for an hour and a half just catching up, getting fragile as fuck and other shits. And we talked about almost everything but pretty much nothing at all. Lol. It was a smooth kind of conversation where you didn't have to think, and ghad I missed that.... we had our usual McDo stop before Blue, and actually, because I got up early, went to work early, I was pretty much tired and awake for almost 24 hours. Which is why, to no one's surprise, I had a nap at McDo lol.

Yadda yadda yadda. Came Saturday, and Lan and I wanted to go out but we were both unsure with what to do outside. I was resolved on going home, only that I didn't want to go home yet so we took things slowly. We went down to buy food but decided to go to Samgyupsalamat instead because of the promo. And for the reason I was wearing LAN's board shorts, we went to UK-UK just to buy shorts that looks okay with a t-shirt. The task was done within 5 minutes but we got so distracted with tops that we ended up using 20minutes and buying a number of blouses for me. Guess where we ended up after? A good old fashioned carinderia with affordable viands, and we even had a leche flan, all for less than 200 altogether!! Sulit diba??

So there, we went back to the unit after deciding we'll be watching Goyo at 3:40PM in SM Marikina. Buuuuut, as Las and Rome appeared to be going to the same place, we backtracked and then brainstormed some more while on our phones. See that?? We were literally just on the bed 😂 *as bed potatoes*

A lot of things have been suggested---cinema centenario (which was close because of the weather), ice skating (not one of us knows how, and little afraid of getting stuck outside), archery (not really sure why we didn't go), watch Goyo somewhere else (UPTC was too expensive; SM North and Trino -- we were afraid of getting stuck), samgyup in the evening (a contender but we didn't know what to do with whole afternoon). And basically we ended not doing any of the things. We just got out of the bed when we both felt like we wanted Pancit Canton and hotdog! Kudos to food bringing us with a solution! Lol.

We downloaded a movie, a chic-flick to be exact. We wanted to watch "To All the Boys I've loved" just because we were in the mood for a feel good romance. Then we went down to buy: 3 packs of pancit canton calamansi, omelette ingredients with 3 pcs of egg, a loaf of bread, tuna spread ingredients, 4 pcs of hopia, 4 pcs of Spanish bread, 1 hotdog sandwich, 2 tubs of solo ice cream, 1 pack of Yakult. And mahn did we overestimate ourselves! 😬

We of course, ended up not finishing everything in the night even if we've finished two movies. At the end of it all, we were just full....

And both fell asleep eventually on the sofa bed.

Sunday morning and I have decided to go home....but it wasn't meant to be.

I stayed a little bit even if I was fully ready to go. I stayed because I was waiting for Lan who was planning to go out anyway. So I stayed until he got ready. Only that, we watched another movie the whole morning to noon. After that, I plucked white hair from his head because well, he said he missed it. 💁🏻 and more titahan of course.

I think it was around 5pm that we went out with the intention of splitting up after grabbing a bite from McDo. But again, new things came up. We ended up buying nail polish and painting each other's nails at McDo! Imagine? Lol 😂

It's was at 5 minutes to 7pm that we stood up from our seat. We went on our way to the door and split up. But before that, my litol Lany boi gave me a tight hug and well, I felt that. I missed my home boi and god, I wish he finds a man that deserves him.

I love yah, Lany boiiii, and you'll always be my lazy weekend co-tita 😘😘

I have never been this relaxed during a weekend. I haven't had a weekend this long that I didn't think about work. Definitely one for the books ❤️

#throwbackwednesday To our dinner that we ordered via @deliveroo_sg with *freedelivery* promo yesterday! Its Public Holiday and @kennethtanjunhao and I were both too lazy to move our ass out out of the cosy house! Although the weather was not that hot yesterday (good to bring @hashbrown_aifood out as well)! We literally GAME-ed all day from the time we woke up in the afternoon.. Playing the Overcooked2 Game on our PS4 and having the MapleStoryM on auto battle (10 hours continuously) for my mobile! Hahahaha. Have you ever found yourself worrying about commitment? No. When I want something it’s always for the long haul. I never worry about falling out of love with a commitment, so to speak, since I always make sure I’m 100% dedicated to it before pursuing it at all.

Are you dressing up for Halloween this year? I did!!! I was Daria! I was so excited for Halloween this year, since Gabie’s parents invited me to their place to celebrate it with them. It’s the first time they ever did the first move with me so I was so so so eager to have a gimmick. I felt touched they even thought of having me around. :) It’s my favorite costume so far since I really pulled off the Daria outfit.
