have no fear, I came back with a positive post to make up for yesterday's complaining!
#my mentor gave me a super good review for something new we're working on#(like said i did better than anyone else in this role ever did on their first try which is good enough for me!)#also was dicking around on my laptop today and found out i have a bunch of free dropbox space for the next year#which is cool because i'll never PAY for dropbox but i can always use another 100gb#(ignore how stressed i'm gonna be when it expires and i have to relocate all those files bc it'll be cool up to that point)#i'm also trying to come up with ideas to display all this merch collection i'm building up so if anyone has any ideas!#i am listening#i ordered a bunch of zines and pins and charms and i wanna display them without accidentally damaging them#i'm thinking some kind of weird shrine in the living room#so everyone who visits my house has to check out the klance obsession#i just think that'll be funny#also i wfh in my living room so i'd get to see it all the time there#OH okay and finally#i got so much writing done this month#like i did fail a bunch of my fandom goals for the month but it's still an impressive amount of words added to my WIPs#and that's a win i'm gonna celebrate#if i can keep this up i'll have a huge chapter fic finished this year and ready to post in early 2025#and and and i got ANOTHER raise so#might even be able to splurge on some nice art for some of the chapters

my biggest accomplishment this year is that despite my good omens brainrot i still managed to not only reach my reading goal but exceed it
#did good omens take over my life?#yes.#did i not finish a single book in the month of october?#also yes.#but have i still managed to not only read 40 books but 41 books?#HELL YES.#may or may not finish another one in the next week we'll see#but i am proud of myself nonetheless#i read so many good books this year it's insane#i think i only had 2 books i didn't like and everything else was 4+ stars#which is a win for me#books#reading goals#not good omens#but kind of still good omens

1) I should complete my work
2) I should thoroughly edit my work
2a) I am largely used to writing fanfic, which is fine and good, but requires some personal style shifts when writing original work to submit
#my goal is mostly to finish and submit#getting published would just be a cool bonus#i dont usually FINISH original work#so we are changing that#i have two prompt-based short submissions due in the next few months#and then a longer original short story ive had the idea for for awhile#which i will finish and polish and then shop around#if it hits enough dead ends I’ll post it online and celebrate bc I finished it!#kips writing#is that the tag?#kip writing

okay I think slow n steady might just be the way to go for me bc I thought I was making such tiny progress (never hit 1000 words on any given day) but my monthly goal was originally 3k and I've passed 6k now with a few days left :0
#def gonna keep tracking progress bc that's been helpful i think#just checked and I've averaged 233 words/day#highest in a day was 757 and there were a few days i didn't write at all#but I'm rly happy with my progress despite not having Finished anything#but if i keep going like maybe next month i can actually publish something???#fic tag#ok now that I've hit my word goal for the day imma go do other tasks#and then see if I'm up for fic planning#was in an oddly unhorny mood so i switched to the less-horny wip lol

ooh the gym fight took twice as many pages to finish as I thought it would
