sims 2 ds game is so funny. there were these little emotional regulation tasks you had to do for the townies sometimes, and if unchecked it would stop people from coming and staying at the hotel and ruin your reputation. imagine getting a call from someone in the middle of the night like “hey so mama hogg is horny and wants to make out nasty style. if you don’t handle this i’m going to leave a bad review for the hotel on yelp. thanks”

Now as much as I like Lucifer, there's a lot of things that they did with him in the show that messed up certain dynamics and developments of characters.
One thing that really ticks me off is when he came in the episode 8 battle at the last minute and defeating Adam for his daughter. The show doesn't give you a reason why he's there all of a sudden and why he didn't just join them the first time. From what we've seen in episode 5, it doesn't seem like he's got much else to do other than sequestering himself in his room and building rubber ducks so what was his excuse for being late? But that's not the part that I'm angry with. It's the fact that by showing up and beating the main villain of the show by himself, he has effectively robbed Charlie of her character development. This battle was her chance to prove herself and to reveal her true power after being severely underestimated by her subjects but she doesn't get the opportunity before her dad swoops in and does the job for her. All without breaking a sweat, making Adam's defeat anticlimactic because we all know Lucifer is immensely powerful firsthand, what's the first man going to do against the fallen angel that doomed humanity?
That's what really made me fume at how the last episode was handled, that the show had to resort to a cheap deus ex machina to get rid of Adam instead of having the main characters fight for his demise. The show has teased Charlie's demon form several times, showing that raw power is simmering beneath the surface, ready to burst but the show doesn't give her the moment where she releases all that pent up anger, showing that you shouldn't mess with the princess of hell and justified rage at the angel who clearly should not be in heaven. No, what the show does is sidelining her once again, in favor of bringing in the creator's favorite boy. Doing so has led to Charlie looking like she relied on her dad to solve her problems for her.
Which comes back to my point of Lucifer's inclusion in the main cast, inducting him to a more prominent role would lessen the stakes and mess up Charlie and Alastor's development. Alastor is meant to be Charlie's mentor, the one who guides her and brings out her true potential but that would be extremely difficult to pull off considering her overprotective and jealous father will apparently be staying at the hotel and he's more powerful than the Radio Demon, he can teach his daughter on his own, basically nullifying Alastor's purpose. Because if Lucifer can do what he does but better, what use does Charlie have for him, considering she cannot trust him at all to begin with. Overall, Lucifer's involvement in the plot has been poorly executed and including him as a full-time member of the hotel is too early and upsets the power dynamics.
Again I am going to blame streaming at large and shortened seasons for some of these problems you've mentioned. I remember in at least one episode Viv wanted a 23-26 episode season but could only get 8. I assume that that would have given time for what I would call "townie" episodes and plot related ones. Townie of course being from the Steven Universe episodes that focused on Steven's relationships with the people of beach city and not doing his gem stuff. Townie episodes in hazbin would have been super useful for fleshing out the characters so that the ones who aren't Viv's oldest characters (Angel, Alastor, and some version of Charlie) feel less flat.
I'm just spitballing here but I do imagine that had she gotten her wish the visit to heaven and vaggie reveal likely would have been the mid season finale, leaving us with a couple of months or so to speculate on how things would play out before giving us the month timeline. Lucifer's inclusion, I believe, would have benefitted too from multiple episodes spent on him and Charlie butting heads over how to run things and manage her meeting with heaven (though part of me is glad they didn't because ra shippers can be entitled and annoying enough with just the not even 5 minutes of interaction they did get. God help us if they'd had multiple episodes of them interacting).
Personally, I don't think Lucifer should have been involved in the hotel at all. You're right, he's a deus ex machina, and a very annoying one at that. Maybe if Sera or any other high ranking angel was the one attempting to kill Charlie. We can assume that Lucifer hasn't intervened in other instances likely because of what tenuous treaty allows for the exterminations in the first place; namely that in exchange for not intervening the exorcists only target sinners and not Hellborns or something like that. I'd have much preferred them using him sparringly. One would think that as not just the leader of Pride but the literal Ruler of all Hell he'd have more important things to do than hang around his daughter's hotel all day.
But you're right, one thing I think I also like about Charlie and alastor's dynamic is that he knows she's more powerful than him. They both know it. The difference between Charlie and Lucifer is that she would never use her powers if it wasn't needed. Lucifer clearly has no problem showing off his abilities at the drop of a hat. While I do appreciate there being some indication that Adam's attempt at killing Charlie likely violated some sort of treaty between heaven and hell (hence why his mask glitched) and that's why Lucifer stepped in I really don't think that in that state Charlie was as defenseless as portrayed. Had she, like Alastor, already taken a blow of pure angelic might and was bleeding out or something then yeah, Lucifer stepping in would make sense. Charlie at that point would have been through the ringer and it would have been deserved.
Of course, Lucifer's relationship with Charlie is far from fixed. Years of estrangement is not by one musical number repaired. Personally, I'm hoping the only reason he's been elevated to a permanent place in the hotel currently is because Lilith is supposed to be re-entering Charlie's life after a seven year absence. And I want that man to become a S-Tier Simp because of it. We see already that he still wears his wedding ring, he's not over losing her, he likely wants her back. If the instas are still second tier canon this man was the Hellish Gomez to Lilith's morticia. Also lbr; the idea of bringing in this powerful king of hell only to nerf him by way of "still not over my ex" is honestly hilarious.
Thank you for all the asks Nonny, you deserve the world.

🌼 Modding Work in Progress 🌼
Tumblr media
I wanna share more about the gameplay mod that I'm working on. ʕ·ᴥ·ʔ
For the last few weeks, I've been working on a pretty substantial gameplay mod. I've sunk well over 100 hours into it, and I'm really excited about the progress so far. I've been playtesting the features that I've completed while I work on bringing my other ideas to life.
My style of mod creation is making it feel as seamless and Maxis Match as possible—I prefer to not be constantly reminded that I have a lot of mods in my game. I want it to feel like it's part of the game. I also don't enjoy an overwhelming amount of moodlets or having to go out of my way in the pie menu, so simplicity is key.
My current design has separate files that you can pick and choose which features you want in your game and remove the ones you don't. I want you to be able to easily remove features that may conflict with your favorite mods (like Wonderful/Wicked Whims).
Features I've completed so far:
Emotion-Based Appearance Changes - sims will blush when they feel flirty, have flushed cheeks when they're embarrassed, and have a black eye when they lose a fight. Sims can cover the black eye by applying concealer at the mirror.
Juice-Induced Intoxication Mechanic - sims will start feeling tipsy when they drink bar drinks, and after awhile they'll become intoxicated. There are a few different drunken states they can be in—flirty, angry, silly, and a general daze. Once the juice wears off and they start sobering up, they can get lucky and the daze will fade easily, or they can have a rough hangover period that'll cause them to throw up and feel ill for awhile.
Seasonal Allergies and Illnesses - sims will have occasional illnesses varying in severity, ranging from mild allergies to a severe case of the flu or stomach flu. Super sick sims will have dark circles under their eyes or flushed red cheeks and an irritated, red nose. Sims unlucky enough to get the stomach flu will be running to the bathroom often, sometimes to throw up. If you have the Seasons expansion then each season will contain their own season-specific maladies, and if not then each illness will be possible all the time! Your sim can drink tea to speed up the healing process, or they can visit the doctor (off-screen) to receive immediate treatment.
Tumblr media
Features I'm in the progress of completing:
Monthly Menstrual Cycle - fertile sims will experience their monthly cycle—they'll have a 2 or 3-day long period every two weeks in-game, experiencing random ailments like cramps, cravings, and mood-swings while on their period. They'll also have to change their pad/tampon at least every 8-12 hours, or they'll start to suffer for it. I'll have that feature disabled for townies to make life easier. There won't be any items to purchase, just a simple interaction with the toilet.
Features that I'm thinking of adding:
Self-Care Features - sims can apply different clay masks for various beneficial buffs, and I'm considering a feature that'll cause your active sims to get stained teeth and/or bad breath if they don't brush their teeth every once-in-a-while. I don't plan to enable that for NPCs.
Romance Interaction Variety - with the new expansion pack coming, I'm thinking of creating a variety of romantic interactions that add more realism and dynamics to different relationship types. Wholesome friends-to-lovers style interactions, or enemies-to-lovers style arguments that increase the romance bar.
I'll be posting occasional updates on my progress if you're interested in playing with it once it's released.
I'd love to hear your feedback!

thoughts on steven universe future
td;lr overall opinion: steven universe future is better than most of the original steven universe, especially seasons 3-5, but there are still some real iffy plotlines in future
i hate that the diamonds were redeemed but at the same time, the happy clouds blue and yellow putting gems back together scenes were so pure
it simultaneously warms my heart and infuriates me
but we finally got a blue diamond song, god i love her voice
EDIT: also steven basically tortured white diamond and nearly killed her and it was pretty disturbing bc steven is 1. in a really bad mental state, like way darker than i thought they’d show him go, since this is technically a kids show and 2. was also kind of trying to hurt himself, which both hit me really hard bc i had similar periods of blazing anger, wanting to self harm and harm others that i felt had wronged me when i was a teenager, but its also what white deserves
ncsndlljklkcndkls i want to enjoy this show so bad but,,, steven having ptsd makes him a violent douche??? diamonds killed who knows how many gems in their reign and never really felt bad about it in original su but now they’re supportive life coaches??? no thank you
on more positive notes, i loved how priyanka described mental health and how she treated steven throughout the entire check up, she was so nonconfrontational and whenever he felt stressed she deescalated the situation,,, it was so good
the animation is the best its been since season 2. the poses are clean, very well drawn, and on model. there are more action scenes than like 90% of steven universe and they’re animated way better, like theres actual fighting and motion asjksacbcbj no one is stiffly posed, no one has strange proportions, no one is drastically changing sizes in between shots (well besides steven in growing pains onward but when he does change size its supposed to be like that lol)
i liked seeing the real roses but didnt love it? i wish we saw more of the roses designs up close, and i wish they fit a little more with the other quartzes? it might be just because its era 3, but the roses were all way more unique than jaspers and amethysts generally seem to be. i like that they were more unique designs and had different personalities, but surely the diamonds wouldnt have tolerated that back in era 1 or even era 2, had the rose quartzes not been bubbled? also i get that they’re reminiscent of pink bc she created them, but hippie and superfan were so naive, more so than other quartzes. if each quartz group was slightly different, it would make a little more sense tbh like if quartzes were the entire gem army, but each group was slightly different. i always liked the idea that rose quartzes were either the defense or the healers of the gem army.
little homeschool and guidance were fun and genuinely enjoyable, considering not a whole ton happens in them. i wish townie episodes had been more like them. like you could replace the gems with random humans, but it would still be a fun episode? idk, maybe involving the humans in gem stuff wouldve made better townie episodes, like lars and the cool kids. it wouldve probably helped steven feel more “human” too, if the human and gem worlds collided a bit more in the series.
bluebird was... an ok episode, but im not sure how well it will fit into what i feel like the end will be, where every episode of future featured someone steven helped or affected in some way, and they all come together to help steven when he corrupts. or rather, i guess if bluebird did say something, it would feel more hollow bc steven didnt help them lol the gems and universes were just friendly to them, and thats it. it wasnt as bad as a very special episode (my least favorite episode of future), but it felt like a townie episode with no townies LOL at least we got a new fusion i guess
a very special episode was just,,, infuriating. there was that weird football scene where they just like,,, talk about screen resolution for a minute then play the full commercial for little homeworld we just saw last episode???? i did genuinely enjoy the rainbow scenes, but it just built up to not nothing. oh no, it was something alright. the whole episode was just future vision and then theres like a minute long psa??? it felt like that wacky randomness that would have happened in like, ok ko, teen titans go, or clarence jaskjcbkcjbskb
mr universe is tied with dear old dad episode as my least favorite greg episode. i get how both of them feel. greg wanted to tell steven about how he escaped from his miserable childhood and remade who he was, no longer a demayo but a universe. the problem imo was that greg became way too absorbed in the past. it reminds me a bit of s1 pearl, how she’d proudly recount gem battles and basked in the glory of fighting for their freedom, but she struggled when she had to recount the more unsavory parts of war. and that really affected amethyst, since she didnt fight in the glorified war pearl told her and steven about. amethyst was the byproduct of one of the bad parts of the war, and that became part of her identity, until on the run, where pearl finally realized that she needed to tell amethyst that she wasnt bad. amethyst’s creation may have fractionally hurt the earth, but that wasnt her fault. it wasnt her fault that she emerged too late to fight either. and it wasnt her fault that she existed. sounds familiar to to stevens rant in the van.
steven didnt ask to be made. he didnt ask to be the half gem half human son of a diamond. but he grew up being told about how great his mom was, and that while no one would ever say it, she was gone because of him. to create steven, rose had to die. it was roses decision, but as the product of that decision, steven feels responsible. not only that, but being told constantly about his amazing mother, steven felt like he had to live up to her, had to be like her, had to replace her in the gems and greg’s lives. throughout the series, steven is constantly either trying to be like his mother, until he realizes its ok to be himself. but then the question is posed; is steven even himself? or is he still part of rose? and once he finds out that he’s steven, and has always been steven, he’s still reeling from the realization that his mother was pink diamond. and that really shows in future, where steven is becoming like pink. at first he doesnt even know, because besides the jungle moon dream, him and the audience never knew about this side of pink. this angry, short tempered, diamond who lashes out mostly physically. and unlike before, no one’s telling steven about pink (besides pink pearl) hes finding out firsthand, and this pink mode is basically being forced on him by his gem. steven has little to no control over this form. hes not trying to live up to his mother, or wondering if he is her, like before. now, he’s losing control to whatever programming is in his gem.
but back to mr universe. in the van, greg is going on and on about how lucky steven is, and how free steven is, but how can either of them compare their lives to each other? the similarities just arent there. steven is right, greg and pink were “raised” in very similar “households”. both had their wishes and desires suppressed by controlling, abusive parents. we know pink was abused mentally, verbally and physically (being physically dragged away from the screen by yellow in jungle moon, stevonnie being grabbed and thrown into the time out cell by yellow, when she still thought steven was pink), but greg at the very least was mentally assaulted. but they diverge from here. as greg said, he thought disco was back. rose started a war. you cant compare them any further.
but at the same time, steven was raised completely differently. he was raised in a home with love and freedom, but he was also not given the opportunity to be a normal kid. theres a difference being forcing your kid to do something and not giving them the chance to try something. steven was never given the option to go to school (well in the comics he was but i guess thats not canon now since it seems like steven wishes he went to school?) he was never given the option to live in a house, or go to the mall with friends. the only other kids he knew were the boardwalk kids, but even then, he doesnt seem very close with them. for such an outgoing, friendly kid, steven wasnt given many opportunities to make friends. steven’s upbringing was very relaxed, yes, but it was too relaxed. he needed more structure, and more importantly, more humanity. i always thought it was weird, how little steven seems to have interacted with humans before connie, considering that his mother so desperately wanted steven to experience being human. yes the show is about gems, (and yes, i dont like most townie episodes), but steven was never shown doing a lot of “human” kid things inbetween episodes. the episode never started with him coming home from a friends house, he hardly ever spent time with friends other than connie in little scenes. like he was never called for a mission while playing cards with peedee, or coming home after an after school activity. any scenes like that were either just steven by himself, or with greg, and occasionally connie. but connie is a new addition to his life. how many years has he been doing fun stuff with only his dad for company, or by himself? yknow, “non traditional” childhoods and living situations are becoming more and more common in media, rather than the “two parents in a suburb house” thing, but steven’s life is beyond any unusual childhood any other kid would have. i mean he’s never even been to the doctor! which is probably for several reasons, like the fact that he apparently doesnt have a ssn, he can heal himself, has a damn gemstone in his stomach, and is half alien. but still, thats not something he has in common with other kids. no matter how much love and freedom he was given, steven was raised as an outcast.
i agree with the notion that both greg and steven were both right and wrong in mr universe. i guess they both have that in common with rose lol
greg should have read the room better, realized that his pep talk wasnt the support and apology steven needed to hear. but steven shouldnt have acted out in the way he did. i get that’s the “theme” of steven’s spiral, maybe for the younger audience to better understand how steven is acting? but crashing his dad’s van that gregs been living in for like 20 years? fucking SHATTERING jasper? that’s going way too far to prove a point. it would have been better to maybe mirror story for steven, where marty and greg are arguing, marty is watching the road and they narrowly avoid hitting a car. but crashing the car could have been pretty serious, especially for greg. now jasper, that episode shouldnt have been approved. steven should not have shattered jasper. he fucking killed her. rose/pink didnt even shatter anyone. and if it wasnt for steven getting another superpower out of nowhere, jasper would have stayed that way. he should have just cracked her gem, poofing her in the process. the rest of the episode wouldve played out exactly the same.
anyways ive been writing this for like 2 hours but i feel better letting it all out. if you enjoy future keep enjoying it! it’s definitely more like a B+ compared to season 3-5′s general C-/D+. but please take into consideration future has some themes that people personally relate to, like mental health, and that you shouldnt shit on someone elses opinions that are based on their own personal experiences. especially if you dont have mental health issues, dont keep pushing your opinion and telling people that personally relate to future’s themes that they’re wrong? thats fucked up man

Sims 4 Mods I am working on (2020-01-08)
I am working on a mod called “Townie Role Progression / Story Adventures” and potentially a “Boss Mode” mod to go along with it.
Sims 2 is my favorite, and if it weren’t for a few things, it has aged well IMO. There’s lots of interactions from Sims 2 that I miss in Sims 4.
One of the major things is “Memories”. In Sims 2, when something happened, it’d changed a Sims interaction for days. If a Sim was angry at you in Sims 2, they’d try to sneak to your lot and kick something. Now, there are interactions like these in Sims 4 but for the most part, there’s no real such system.
Besides Sims 2, I actually really liked the Playstation 2 version of the Sims. In the PS2 The Sims, there was a mode called “Get a Life”, and I thought it was actually really interesting and a lot of fun.
I want to try to combine two aspects of that into a mod.
Finally, I actually like progressing or trying to help my Townies. The Roommate system is neat but I actually like getting pets, decorating, and building stuff for the Townies so that I can visit them. I like the idea of being able to progress or help progress characters you don’t directly control.
I’ve had lots of fun modding Warcraft III back in the day. Realm of Magic is a pretty cool concept but unfortunately I wish you could do more with it.
So, here is what “Townie Role Progression / Story Adventures” is about (The Basics):
[1.] You participate in Townie Progression (there will be a way to keep track of what the Selected Townies will be doing) with a custom stat system and custom memory system.
[2.] Memory System (alters interactions based on previous interactions that will be tracked).
[3.] Adventure/Scenario System (random Scenarios that can be won or lost in varying ways). For example, your Sim Friend may train as a Superhero, and there’s a Rival Sim that is training as a Villain, you can try to help your Friend beat the Villain.
[4.] Lots of dialogue options, and dialogue that changes based on previous interactions or scenario progression.
[5.] Boss Battles. For Boss Battles, I was thinking of doing it kind of like Metal Gear Solid 3 Style. I think something like MGS3 Boss Battles can work in Sims 4.
Now this is what I want to work on; I’m not sure how practical it is to implement something like Boss Battles in the Sims but I have some ideas.
In Warcraft 3 modding, a lot of custom effects were basically “smokes and mirrors”. In Sims 4, I was thinking of altering certain objects (let’s say a Utility Bot for example), and changing it something else. Like for example, maybe a Boss Sim has a special move that releases moving Poison Clouds. In that case, I’d based the Poison Clouds on an object that moves, change the actual model used to Poison Clouds, have it move around, and if it gets near your Sim, you get hit and maybe your Hygiene or Energy or whatever gets reduced (and if any of your motives hit zero, you lose).
It’s just something like that. I want to see how practical and whether it’s possible to have lots of it done without being too resource intensive.
Your own moves can be something similar.
In MGS3, I like the Fear boss battle. I was thinking if I can make a Boss Sim like the Fear where a Sim may release poison clouds, and where you have to move around a big lot (let’s say the Boss Sim challenges you at the giant park lot... that’s actually a good area for a boss battle), then maybe Poison Clouds would reduce Hygiene, and there would be Showers that spawn that you can use.
The Boss would teleport around or turn invisible or something, and you’d have to find him. And finally, maybe there will be hostages or something else you have to protect to also make it a bit more interesting (like if the Hostage Sim’s motives go to zero from the Boss, you lose the fight and have to restart).
And you have your own special moves as well that also have a particular pattern.
Now realistically, a lot of this depends on how many objects I can have spawn and move at the same time (I haven’t tried pushing the Sims 4 to its limits yet to see if it’s practical, I know there lots of limitations already present). Depending on whether it’s practical or not, I may not even implement this (again I am just thinking of ideas).
If not something major, maybe I’ll do a minor version at least. Optimizing is important, so I’ll make sure try to do as many ‘Smokes and Mirrors’ to make sure it’s not actually resource intensive (maybe I don’t actually need one object but can simply move a single object with a slight delay in animation removal multiple places to have the illusion of there being multiple objects for example).
[6.] Besides a Rival, a major feature I want to add is a Companion system. Maybe you don’t fight the Boss but are simply helping your Friend Sim beat them. Or if not, maybe you can have a Sim help you in battle. I always like companion systems, and customizing their stats, and stuff in games.
(Some Extended Notes):
[7.] I want to make the mod compatible with as many mods as possible. To make things practical, it’ll be a mod where you individually select Sims (Your Sim, Household, Roommates Townies) and toggle whether they’ll participate in the Mod or not.
That means, it won’t automatically activate. I am kind of more of a sandbox style player, but I wouldn’t mind things to spice things up once in a while. So, that’s why I’ll make the mod like this (that and I think for me, it’ll be more practical to get what I want).
[8.] When the Mod activates, there will be a personality and memory system. For me, I’ll probably make it so you can either select it, have it automatic based on Traits, or have it be just Randomized.
[9.] When it activates, there will be random ‘Scenarios’ or ‘Adventures’ that will activate. Once it activates, the Sims that participate in the Mod will have their own progression.
This could be something like your Friend Sim wants to train as a Bodyguard or a Spellcaster, or a simple thing like your Friend Sim wants to get married or something.
[10.] Again, to make things interesting, there will be random Obstacles that get in your way. Maybe a Time Limit, maybe a Rival Sim, etc.
My Progression and To Do List Part 1 (Long Term):
[1-1.] Again (important), this is something I want to try for but if it’s not practical, I may not do it as I imagine. “However”, I definitely want to do something like this. I just want to try to add some basic Memory and Adventure and Townie Progression System where you can just have a Companion, Rival, and have altered or special interactions based on that.
If it’s not practical to do a feature, I may not add it but I’ll still try to get something in its place.
For example, it may be as simple as your Companion Sim that wants to be a Bodyguard (that either lives in another Household, a Roommate, or even someone you can control that lives with you) wants to buy a Workout machine. You go to a public Lot, pretend to buy a Workout machine (Sims 4 don’t have actual stores like Sims 2), then there will be a hidden variable that just keep tracks of whether your Companion bought a Workout machine or not. If they have a House, I’ll have it be put somewhere. From there it progresses, there’s dialogue options, and from there there may be some time based stat calculations based on what the Sims have. Then your Sim may or may not successfully become a better Bodyguard or whatever.
Maybe there’s a Rival Sim or a Villain, and maybe your Companion is your Bodyguard and they’ll try to protect you from this Villain or Rival Sim.
One of my favorite game genres back in the early 2000s are browser games with actual time based stat progression. If I can’t do something too fancy, I’d like to do at least something and hopefully something like that to have some sort of sense of Townie Progression.
[1-2.] Okay to continue from the above, another type of game I like is Recettear. I was thinking if you have Rival Sim, there may be objects. Like maybe a Rival or Villain Sim shows up at a lot and tries to break things with their Spells or a custom interaction. You try to stop them. Maybe you try to sneak into their house and break stuff. After a period of time, the person who breaks the opponent’s stuff the most wins (that can be just a random scenario for example, there may be other stuff).
[1-3.] All right. What else? To be honest, this blog is actually also an excuse to write down all these ideas down, so I can just reference and remember what I want to do again (yes, that’s why there’s lots of maybe this, maybe that, etc).
[1-4.] Varying effects of how this can be implemented. If your Rival Sim is some Tech Guy, maybe he’ll have Tech Minions that will try to break your stuff (or whatever). If it’s a Villain, maybe they have special moves.
[1-5.] Progression System. Depending on what you do in the Spawned Adventures or Scenarios, your Sim and Companion can learn Custom Interactions to fight a Villain (or maybe if you are a Villain yourself, you may find a way to learn a special interaction that can spawn utility bots that attack people).
[1-6.] Realm of Magic, Hidden Lots, and Nancy Drew. Okay, when Realm of Magic came out, I found Spell learning to be actually kind of disappointing. You just practice and just get them. You basically can unlock all spells in just 2 hours.
The Sims 4 has a lot of potentials. Hidden Lots are one of the coolest features in Sims 4 but besides Hidden Lots, there’s not much exploration.
I want to try to find a way to add just random scenarios where you may be able to find in Lots or encounter something. Maybe there will be hints and notes to try to give an idea on where the item or whatever is.
My Progression and To Do List Part 2 (Smaller Stuff that I hope to release soon):
[1.] Practical Speaking, I’ll probably just release some small mods here and there until I try to start working on this “Townie Role Progression / Story Adventures” mod. For my next mod (for example), I think I’ll try some customized Utility Bot Interactions. These things can be later reused later for the big mod.
So, small practical mods that I know I can do until we get to that big mod and see how practical it is to do all the stuff I want (with as much ‘Smokes and Mirrors’ if needed).
[2.] Also I am still working on more customized Spells. I was thinking of adding an area of effect toggle that you can turn on for your Spellcaster. For options, you can select Enemies only (those with negative relationship values), Neutral and below (those that are no your friends), or Everyone.
When I bought Realm of Magic, I was hoping you can just break as much stuff as possible. In Sims 2, I actually enjoyed just messing around at the end of a play session. I’d play normally and try to progress my Sims, then I’ll try to start as many fights and cause as many deaths as possible.
I was hoping with Realm of Magic, I can just screw around and that’s why I’ll try adding an ‘Area of Effect’ Toggle. If you seen my previous blogs, I released a Customized Overcharge + Overcharge Zipzap mod that turns it into a Lightning Strike that drains and lowers a Target’s Stat (and electrocutes them after two uses).
I’ll try doing more of those for all the Spells besides just Zipzap.
[3.] In Sims 2, I enjoyed a mod that allowed you to invite Sim, and they’d stay indefinitely until you tell them to leave. I like the Roommate System ‘but’ for at least Townies with their own Homes, I’d rather them be able to have their own Homes (I like decorating homes and bringing pets to Sims that I won’t even play just because it’s fun to visit them).
So, I’ll see if I can make a basic mod that lets you just invite any Sim and have them stay indefinitely until you tell them to leave (an interaction where you can ask a Sim to stay at your place). There’s actually already a Sleepover interaction (Romance), but I’ll see if I can make a generic version and one that allows Sims to just stay indefinitely and works with any Sim (even non-Friendlies).
Anyway, thanks for reading this all if you have. This is pretty informal but I also wanted to write it for myself to remember what I wanted to work on (and might as well post it online as well so people know what I will be trying to release in the future). And again, these are just all ideas (I also want to make sure it’s actually fun to play in practice, and whether doing all these interactions is practical or not as well). If not the big stuff, I’ll still release small stuff.
Thank you again, and if you have any questions or request for small mods, feel free to ask. Also here is my Twitter as well.

Legacies Star Talks Hope's New Ally, Roman's Return and 3 Other Twists
Tumblr media
The annual Miss Mystic Falls pageant arrived on Thursday’s Legacies, bringing with it all the requisite drama — and leaving several fan-favorite pairings in serious jeopardy. (Hey, at least no one died this time.)
Lizzie initially had her heart set on Caroline’s former title, but when she discovered that Dana’s mother was one of the judges, she decided — much to Josie’s disappointment — that Hope was her best chance to “stick it to those townies” with a win. (Does anyone else think it’s weird that Lizzie is so anti-townie, considering she was also born and raised in Mystic Falls?) Anyway, Penelope tried to convince Josie to beat Hope, but Josie was too loyal to her sister to mess up her master plan. Furious with Josie for once again putting Lizzie first, Penelope started spilling a bunch of secrets she’s collected as of late… including that she should ask Alaric about “the merge.” Gulp.
But before Penelope left school, breaking Josie’s heart in the process (that L-bomb!), she also revealed to Landon that Hope has been lying about meeting his mother — not that “Lope” needed any more drama this week, what with Roman showing up out of the blue. (Really, Alaric? You couldn’t have hired literally anyone else?) This set off a dramatic chain of events: Landon storming out, Roman filling in as Hope’s escort, Josie calling Lizzie out for being heartless, and even Hope discovering that her dress was picked out by Klaus. The tension culminated in an emotional outburst from Hope, guided by Lizzie, who’s all too familiar with the magical side effects of trauma. Lizzie even made her a deal: “You help me get Josie back, I’ll help you get Landon.”
And speaking of getting Landon, Hope’s angry ex(?)-boyfriend ended the episode in Agent Clark’s custody, delivered by MG’s mom, who’s apparently Clark’s superior. I have to admit, it was a twist I didn’t see coming — mostly because we’d spent most of the episode worrying about the freaking Gorgon skulking around campus and turning people into stone.
Below, Danielle Rose Russell breaks down the episode’s biggest moments with TVLine, including how Roman — despite, you know, his involvement in Hayley’s death — remains a very real threat to Hope and Landon’s relationship…
TVLINE | First of all, congratulations on winning Miss Mystic Falls. How was your brief experience as a pageant girl?
[Laughs] Thanks. It’s definitely something I never want to revisit. We did that whole thing in one day, and by the end, I was just like, “I never want to see this dress again, I never want to hear ‘Miss Mystic Falls’ again, and I never want to be in another pageant.”
Tumblr media
Legacies Miss Mystic FallsTVLINE | Was that the actual dress Caroline wore on The Vampire Diaries, or did they design a replica?
It was the actual dress! They got it from the Warner Brothers. archive. But the problem is, the dress was made for Candice [King], who’s about seven inches taller than me. We had to be so specific about how we shot the dress. The costume team and I did hours of fittings, trying to get it OK. For example, we couldn’t shoot it from the side, because I have about four inches of toile alone on the front and back of me. So we could only show it from the front, or else I’d look like the girl from Willy Wonka who turns into a blueberry.
TVLINE | I never thought I’d see Hope and Lizzie getting along so well. Could this be the end of their life-long feud?
You know, it could be. I was also very surprised, because in the beginning of the season, everybody thought Hope and Josie would be the ones becoming friends. I was also surprised by how much Hope and Lizzie have in common, while still being so different. They annoy each other, but they also put up with each other. It’s a fun relationship that I’d like to see explored a little bit more in Season 2.
TVLINE | Then again, I never thought I’d see Hope getting along with Roman either. Were you surprised by her behavior?
Very much so. In my head, I always want Hope to get revenge, but she really has worked so hard [to improve herself]. In the last episode, you saw that even in the middle of a dark, painful moment — seeing Landon dead — she still gave MG her blood. She had a moment of understanding that she doesn’t want to be another vengeful Mikaelson. She wants to be good, and she’s always fighting for that. You could see that Hope had a tough time coming to terms with Roman. There’s a reason why she never talks about it, but I think she has genuinely forgiven him and she’s moving on from that.
TVLINE | I guess when you’re a Mikaelson, you get used to encountering people who have murdered your relatives.
Exactly! It just happens.
TVLINE | We didn’t see Roman leave. Is he sticking around?
You’ll see him again a little bit. That relationship will come to a head, as well.
TVLINE | I get that Landon was insecure, but is there any world in which Hope genuinely sees Roman as a potential love interest?
I don’t know. I go back and forth about it, actually. I always thought the dynamic between Hope, Roman and Landon would be an interesting love triangle. So I do have an idea in my mind of how that would happen, but I’m keeping it to myself in case it does. In Hope’s right mind, I’ll say, there would be no world. But Hope is also not a vampire yet, but she could be. There are many mistakes she could make if things go sour.
Tumblr media
TVLINE | Lastly, let’s talk about Penelope, who blew up multiple people’s lives this week. How do you feel about everything she did, and the character in general?
The relationship between Josie and Penelope, to me, has always been fascinating. I’m interested to see the fans’ reaction to Penelope leaving, though I do think that’s sort of the only way that relationship could have gone. In order to give Josie what she deserves, all of this had to happen. So I don’t hate Penelope. I think she was super clever and smart, and I was always interested to see what she would pull out of her hat. She obviously also hurt Landon and Hope’s relationship, but the truth had to come out eventually.

TOP 10 albums of the decade
Hello folks!
The year is coming to a close, and I felt it necessary to share my top 10 favorite albums of the decade. It was so hard to narrow it down to only 10 but ultimately, I went with the albums that stuck with me the most during the most formative years of my life. I’m excited to see what my 20s will be like, soundtracked by new music of the 2020s. Let me know what your favorites were!
beach house - depression cherry (2015)
Tumblr media
This album made my xx-loving, emo/indie girl lifestyle feel so validated. Beach House songs tend to have a certain air of nostalgia, melancholy and hopefulness, but the airy, unique tracks on Depression Cherry are in an emotional universe of its own.
Faves: 10:37, Space Song, PPP
___
the garden – haha (2015)
Tumblr media
The Garden was my favorite band for the first half of high school. Every single album they put out creates a new ethos, with the Shears twins’ method acting supporting it all the way through. The Vada Vada universe was made whole when haha came out (I'm also probably biased because I was at their album release show lol). This is one of their most defining albums as an act that is constantly breaking molds and standards. Although that sounds contradictory, haha truly set the Garden apart as a band slightly outside of the “Burger Records” scene forming around that time, materializing the Vada Vada aesthetic into our dimension.
Faves: This House Can Build a Home, Crystal Clear, Gift
___
death grips – the money store (2012)
Tumblr media
Death Grips was my favorite band for the second half of high school. MC ride's gritty vocals/screaming paired with Andy and Zach's tight musicianship has been what makes death grips so powerful, album after album. This release in particular employs a more synthy-electronic vibe to its tracks, which may make it more accessible, but also more unique among their discography.
Faves: Hustle Bones, Hacker, The Fever (Aye Aye)
___
US Girls - in a poem unlimited (2018)
Tumblr media
Every track on this album makes me want to dance. The sensual vocals over the vintage-tinged instrumentals make US Girls a go-to for me. Some tracks go super hard while others are more sensitive; but either track you choose to listen to will make you feel like a badass.
Faves: M.A.H., Incidental Boogie, L-Over
___
japanese breakfast - soft sounds from another planet (2017)
Tumblr media
This beautiful and heartfelt album takes me back to my early college days, when I first started up at KUCI! Michelle Zauner’s emotional traumas are exposed in her first release Psychopomp, which was meant to be her only album. After some growth and learning, though, this album was created and showcases an evolution; it explores the same themes of mortality, fame, and love through a more mature angle, without compromising her child-like raw emotionalism.
Faves: Diving Woman, Road Head, Machinist, Boyish
___
parquet courts - wide awake! (2018)
Tumblr media
Political, poetic and emotional, Wide Awake! is a study of masculinity, relationships, and war in a weirdly fluorescent light (their album cover is the most fitting one I've ever seen). Andrew Savage is just a genuine dude with a shy aloofness that makes his scream signing all the more endearing. They use cowbells and talk about Alan Turing-- what else could I ask for?
Faves: Before the Water Gets Too High, Almost Had to Start a Fight/In and Out of Patience, Normalisation, Wide Awake
___
french vanilla - french vanilla (2017)
Tumblr media
This album changed my mind about riot grrl. Although their music is a bit more organized, almost neurotically, and much more instrumentally formal, French Vanilla takes the wailing vocals and angry lyrics the riot grrl genre was partly known for and made a beast of it's own. I love them.
Faves: Honesty, Carrie, Evolution Heavy Handed
___
little dragon - ritual union (2011)
Tumblr media
Little Dragon was one of those bands along with Crystal Castles, Blonde Redhead and others, that were the foundation of my music taste during the formative years of my life. I can’t explain more about the album without spoiling it; it’s just a lovely journey to take.
Faves: Little Man, Brush the Heat, Shuffle a Dream, Crystalfilm
___
khruangbin - the universe smiles upon you (2015)
Tumblr media
Call it easy listening for hipsters if you want, but Khruangbin is one of the few bands I know where I can truthfully say I like every single track they put out. Their energy is infectious and seeing them live changed me for the better!
Faves: Dern Kala, White Gloves People Everywhere (Still Alive)
___
mitski - bury me at makeout creek (2014)
Tumblr media
Although Retired from Sad, New Career in Business holds a very special place in my heart, Mitski's junior release, Bury Me at Makeout Creek, is one of Mitski's most powerful and vulnerable albums. Her exploration of genre, sound, and identity are tangible, though admittedly not as much as her art school debut, Lush. Every track still experiments with poetry and taps into a new wound, but she sounds more confident in herself this time around. Where her sophomore album was a piano-ridden set of ballads, this album is much heavier with bass-heavy love songs, leaving listeners with a distinctly different taste in their mouths. Her Joni Mitchell-esque mania makes me cry and dance just the right amount. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.
Faves: Townie, First Love/Late Spring, Francis Forever, I Dont Smoke, Drunk Walk Home, Last Words of a Shooting Star... so like all of them (oh and Class of 2013 from Retired from Sad belongs here too, same energy)
___
honorable mentions:
show me the body - body war (2016) I officially became a cool e-kid when I went to my first show me the body show. Their new album is great too, but this ones a classic. (Listen to Tight SWAT when you’re angry, or not angry enough).
autolux – PUSSY’S DEAD (2016) This genre-defying album was the soundtrack to the end of my high school career. Every moody lyric and punchy drum beat had me feeling like Bella Swan in the second half of Twilight.
sasami – SASAMI (2019) I'm so very moved by every heart wrenching song on this album. That’s all.
Kadhja Bonet - Childqueen (2018) Beautiful neo-soul with a classic edge.
MGMT – Little Dark Age (2018) One of the best comeback albums ever.
Anderson .Paak – all of his releases He was my top artist of 2019, whoops.

Nancy Drew Season 2 Episode 1 Review: The Search for the Midnight Wraith
https://ift.tt/37uI1um
This NANCY DREW review contains spoilers.
Nancy Drew Season 2, Episode 1
The CW mystery series Nancy Drew returns for its second season with “The Search for the Midnight Wraith,” an hour that’s as confident, self-assured, and downright scary as the show has ever been.
Technically, Nancy Drew’s first season came to an early end due to the coronavirus pandemic but watching the Season 2 premiere, it’s hard to tell that the story of the monstrous Aglaeca wasn’t always meant to carry over into the new season. “The Search for the Midnight Wraith” seamlessly weaves the dangers of its ongoing curse in with a new creepy creature of the week and the overarching drama of Nancy’s quest to solve the mystery of her own identity.
The result is a thoroughly satisfying hour of television that shows off everything that makes Nancy Drew worth watching.
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
After months of life in the hell of pandemic-related anxiety, it’s honestly a relief to return to the town of Horseshoe Bay, with its seemingly endless string of murderous supernatural creatures, weirdo townie rituals, and dark urban legends. The premiere is full of creepy set pieces and jump scares alongside genuine emotional moments and seasoned with a dash of exposition for the new viewers the network clearly hopes will tune in for the series’ second season.
The death visions brought on by the Aglaeca are obviously front of mind for the Drew Crew, as Nick tries to get rid of the truck he’s fated to drown in and Ace rushes to cover the sharp objects in the Claw freezer where he saw himself impaled. But the gang’s search for a weapon to use against the creature is what draws them into a more immediate – and potentially deadly – mystery.

How Nancy Drew Has Reinvigorated the Dark Young Adult Drama
By Lacy Baugher
At this point, it’s honestly more surprising that anyone in Horseshoe Bay ever goes anywhere at all after dark than that there’s apparently a specific patch of woods haunted by a murderous wraith. But the Gorham Woods is indeed home to the originally named Gorham Wraith, a dementor-esque monster who feeds on the fear of those lost in the forest during the full moon and whose victims are subsequently never seen again.
So when an injured girl staggers out of those same woods gasping Nancy’s name on the night of a full moon, well. We all know that’s definitely not a coincidence. Particularly when she turns out to be one of a pair of twins who had been offering to sell access to a particular mirror rumored to be a weapon against the Aglaeca.
Star Kennedy McMann has never been better, portraying an angry, fearful Nancy who’s still simmering over the upending of pretty much everything she’s ever known about her life and absolutely terrified that her true parentage reveals her true destiny. That she’ll only ever be the worst parts of the terrible people who birthed her: From her tortured, despairing mother to the monsters that drove her to her death and lied about their involvement afterward.
Much of Season 2 seems as though it will be about Nancy attempting to understand and reconcile these different sides of herself – the truth of who she is with the actual fact of it, that even if she’s a Hudson on paper, in her heart she’s still who she’s always been: Nancy Drew, girl detective, who solves mysteries and fights for truth. Even and most especially when it’s hard – and when it involves the sort of truths she might happily wish she’d never actually learned.
How her relationships with either and/or both of her dads – Carson Drew who raised her or Ryan Hudson who fathered her – will look going forward remains unclear, though I doubt anyone watching is angry at Nancy for refusing to give either of them any of her time or emotional energy at the moment. That Ryan steps up to cover for his daughter not once but twice is truly the absolute least he can do, though his sudden pushback against his own father’s general sliminess is an intriguing hint that perhaps his knowledge of Nancy will help him somehow become a better man.
But it is Nancy’s own actions that prove she’s nothing like the Hudsons, as she not only vows to save the friends she’s unwittingly doomed alongside herself but also offers herself up as bait for the wraith – and nearly dies in the process. It’s true, the Drew Crew has a right to be angry with their friend for her recklessness and to resent the fact that she’s maybe kind of cursed them all to die along with her, but it’s hard to argue with the strength and tenacity of her heart.
I can’t wait to see where Nancy’s journey takes her in Season 2.
Additional Thoughts
Given the rise of Sea Shanty TikTok over the past few weeks, this series has truly never felt timelier. Bring on the Aglaeca-killing sea ballads, folks.
I screeched at the Bobbsey twins reveal (“The Bobbsey twins are hardcore”, I just cannot!!) and we’d better see this intriguing pair of con artists in Horseshoe Bay again, is all I’m saying. Where’s their backdoor pilot, CW??
Kennedy McMann and Riley Smith really do have some distinctly non-father/daughter chemistry and I don’t know how to stop seeing it.
In a perfect world, George and Nick would just tell Nancy they’re dating and everyone would move on with their lives because they’re all friends who care about each other and hope for each other’s happiness. We all know that this is not a standard blueprint for a CW series, but, hey, I can dream, right?
Nancy and Ace’s relationship is quickly becoming my favorite part of this show, and their conversation, in which Ace admits that he’s never doubted Nancy will somehow save them all – but he’s still angry anyway – was this hour’s best moment. Their friendship is so sweet and charming that I almost feel bad for the fact that I’ve started wanting them to become something a little more than friends. (Forthright, warm platonic friendships between men and women are still far too rare on this network and should be protected as such.)
