reo (idk his name. purple man. the guy who tried to go home and ended on the ship wrecks.) got a whole ass speech to sagiri and gabimaru, even tho we didn't even know he was gonna die! the blond little guy that's traveling with the swordsmaster got a speech about his passion for dissecting corpses and nothing even happened to him!

bakugo and muichiro (idk their names either) got a whole damn episode! eiji (?) got a whole conversation with sagiri and got into her head enough to give her a breakthrough in battle! tenza got a backstory that was so well made that it was also shion's backstory! nurugai got a backstory! nurugai didn't even die!!

i'm acting pissed but i'm not because it's great storytelling, i genuinely enjoy the show and it's good enough for me to see more of eizen through the lens of other characters but not one eizen centered flashback for rey? not one?? 🥺🥺

Chiaki/Toma. They're the same age, in the same profession, but their personalities are complete opposite. Chiaki is notoriously lazy while Toma is a workaholic. Chiaki opposes their father while Toma wants to make their father proud. No matter how often they may clash in terms of personality, personal ideals, and opinions, they still care about one another a lot.

Chiaki would be the glue to hold everyone together when they're old and gray. They would bicker and clash, but they would still meet up as a family for events, parties, and vacations.

When a teenager is dragged into a police station by someone with a self-proclaimed de-aging quirk, it seems too improbable that one of the most notorious villains in Japan could actually be reverted to a scrawny sixteen year old.

But then the blood tests come back, and the quirk labs hand in their results, and it seems that Dabi really is a teenager again- and claiming to be the dead Todoroki Touya, of all things.

OR: Touya never expected to wake up a wanted fugitive, but with his luck, he's hardly surprised.

Hawks manages to keep his baby a secret from Dabi for a grand total of two months. Once Dabi finds out about him, he starts coming around a lot more often, usually at night. These are snippets of their time together.

“Hawks smiles as he helps him to stand on wobbly feet, both thumbs lost in a tight-fisted grip. Toma coos at him and Hawks coos back. To his surprise—and Dabi’s, judging by the look on his face—Toma then turns and makes the same sound at him.

Dabi huffs a breath and reaches out a hand to stroke over Toma’s fuzzy head.

“I don’t know how to make that sound, kid.”

i don’t usually read mpreg, but i actually really liked this one. i’d recommend giving it a shot.

Touya (Mainly to spite his dad) has been come an underground hero know as Pyre. As an underground hero, he knows Aizawa, who is currently covered in bandages after the USJ attack. Yet he still wants to go teach his class?!

"Just take a day off," Touya pleaded.

"No."

Aizawa tried to get get and shove past him. Touya, who was having none of that, knocks him out instead. It's fine, he'll teach the class instead. How hard can it be?

todoroki rei adopts hawks. really slowburn, lots of slice of life with touya and hawks being idiots about each other. it’s the longest fic i’ve read in a while (@ my commitment issues) but it was really good. very slowburn tho. oh, and dabi never becomes a villian.

Hawks stares at him for a long moment with something that looks like awe before Twice breaks the silence.

"Wow, relationship advice from Dabi! How rare!" Dabi flips him off and turns back to the soup he's been working on. "And it's awful! Nice going, onii-chan!" Dabi stifles a flinch at that, carefully keeping his eyes trained on the pot. No one's called him 'onii-chan' in a decade.

"I'm younger than you, idiot," he says with no real bite.

"Yeah, but you ooze 'big brother,'" Twice says sagely. Dabi doesn't trust himself to turn around. He has no idea what his face is doing, but he's sure it's revealing. _____

Dabi disapproves of Hawks wanting to date Fuyumi, so obviously the answer is to seduce him. (He is not jealous, he’s just horny. The timing is a complete coincidence.)

Red-tailed hawks mate for life, and Keigo, with his bird quirk, is no different. Choosing a partner would have probably been a complicated matter; that is if his instincts hadn’t already decided for him when he jokingly agreed to marry Touya back when they were children. Back when he had no idea what he was engaging himself into, and when Touya was still alive.

Now a hero, Hawks has resigned himself to never experience love, but things get a thousand times more complicated when he has to infiltrate the League of Villains and his instincts suddenly go crazy for Dabi of all people.

Or the fic where Hawks is oblivious to Dabi’s real identity, but his bird instincts are not.

Crispy Cream doesn't say anything for a long moment. The mental pressure it creates makes Hawks want to babble, but he manages to hold his tongue this time.

"I can't tell if you're screwing with me or what," Crispy Cream drawls.

"It's the 'or what'," Hawks offers.

Hawks gets hit with an amnesia quirk. Dabi gets begrudgingly involved.

*Grass Is Green (Except For When It's Not) by Numanum (~17k)

When someone else walks through the door, the staring contest dissolved with his Handler as the winner after Hawks whirled around to assess the new threat in the room. Juice drips from where his grip had crushed the juice box, further staining his clothes and making a mess on the bar top. Hawks continues to blink owlishly at the newcomer. The person, who seems to be made of shadow, rather than it clinging to him, looks at him with mild interest, a towel and a bar glass in his hands. His eyes move to address Hawks’ Handler.

“He’s very,” the man pauses, as if choosing his next words carefully, "small.”

His Handler grunts in irritation, and Hawks almost chimes in that he's sorry, he knows he supposed to be bigger.

A hesitant pause.

“Was it-?”

“Fuckin’ drop it,” his Handler spits out.

“Ah, I see,” the other hums tactfully, and wisely drops the topic. Hawks thinks that his eyes are pretty, the color of a flower that grows in the part where he meets Touya sometimes, but he doesn’t tell him. He's not supposed to meet anyone, and he's not supposed to speak without permission.

Or: Hawks get's de-aged and the league takes care of him

It all transpires in a heartbeat with a flurry of flashing lights, entrapping Hawks before he could introduce himself - before he could sing the Hero Commission’s sales pitch - before he could even gasp. As his senses shut down one by one, there’s a passing thought that thank goodness he landed prior to being pulled into this vision; except, the next thought is fuck - of all people?

At least his assigned contact into the League seems just as surprised, beautiful turquoise eyes framed by horrendous scars bulging out wide.

Or: when you meet your soulmate, you’re forced to relive either the best or worst day of their lives; be it their past or future, fate knows best.

Dabi’s system for naming his contacts was convenient for many reasons. Unfortunately, it also had many downsides. Such as now, when the League was scrambling to pack up everything and switch bases because their entire building had been compromised.

Masako must misunderstand, because she lights up, excited. “Oh, I know! I can help you find them again!”

Her hands close over Fuyumi’s before she can protest, and the world flips upside-down until she’s suddenly somewhere else.”

When Fuyumi gets hit by a quirk that body-swaps twins, she wakes up somewhere else—despite the fact that her twin died a decade ago. That’s confusing enough on its own, but why is she surrounded by villains?

Dabi, meanwhile, keeps accidentally freezing things, but he thinks that’s a fair response to being called a name he hasn’t heard in a decade.

Hawks first meets Todoroki Touya when he is eleven years old, on a humid afternoon by a concrete staircase.

He meets the villain Dabi eleven years later, on a chilly evening by a decaying building.

OC. 23 anos, costumava ser dama de companhia da rainha vermelha em Wonderland. Já em Storybrooke, é órfã e já atuou em diversas produções cinematográficas até se envolver com um produtor musical com o qual se casou e herdou toda a riqueza dele quando o homem veio a falecer. Essa história é um pouco confusa, pois dizem as más línguas que Mcgee teve participação neste caso, mas nada foi comprovado. Ela está acordada, no entanto, alguns sonhos são tão confusos que ela já não sabe diferenciar o que é real do que é programado. E é por isso que muitas vezes a mulher diz coisas extremamente aleatórias e fora de contexto. Tem pavor de crianças e parece ser bem egoísta e vaidosa e de fato ela é, mas tem um bom coração.

first of all, 10/10 i'm legitimately blown away, i never expected to love it as much as i do! i'm always hesitant to read manga with a lot of fighting but everything was really nicely drawn and i didn't lose sight of what was going on so that was cool :D

THE FIGHTS WERE SO GOOD HOLY- esp loved fuchi, gantetsusai, chobei and toma vs ju fa and tao fa (also ju fa and tao fa made me so sad, i wasn't planning on feeling bad for any of the tensen but goddamn 😭😭) and THE FINAL FIGHT WAS SO COOL WHEN SAGIRI BEHEADED GABIMARU AND WHEN GABIMARU HESITATED TO KILL JOFUKU'S REMAINS BECAUSE THEY WERE HUSBAND AND WIFE BUT THEN SHUGEN CAME IN AND JUST SLICED HIM TF UP THAT WAS EPIC-

shugen was such an amazing character i loved him!! like he had so little screentime compared to a lot of the other characters but during that short time span he was given so much depth and ahhhh i'm still in awe of this writing 😭😭😭🩷🩷🩷🩷 also hands down my favorite panel which i don't think surprises anyone BUT IT JUST LOOKS METAL AF OKAY

also speaking of shugen THE CHARACTERS OMG I LOVE ALL OF THEM 😭😭😭😭😍😍 (except idk maybe jikka and shija but even they were pretty badass in their own right lol) sagiri is still my favorite but like fuchi?? nurugai?? TOMA?? they're up there ngl, even tho i never thought i'd get attached to toma but i loved his growth and how he sorta grew a spine while staying with the group (him and gantetsusai were so funny together but also so adorable i loved that dynamic) and then when him and chobei attacked ju fa and tao fa SHFBDXJKLNG and yeah anyway he's a close second is what i'm trying to say lmao

and when shion renounced the yamada asaemon titel for nurugai and when nurugai went back for shion and when mei called hoko her father and when mei sacrificed herself and when gantetsusai carried fuchi's body and when chobei defeated the banko and when the ship burned down with shugen's body still lying there and when gabimaru and yui reunited and when *explodes*

AHHHH HELL YEAH!!!! I'm late as hell to replying but LETS FREAKING GO HELL'S PARADISE LOVE AHHHH REY! :D AND YES!!!! That's how I felt when I first read the series- I wasn't expecting to be so obsessed with it like that! My heart, my soul- my love; absolute perfection!

(No cause honestly their story made my heart hurt and I didn't want to feel that but here we are I suppose- damn them tensen for making me sad!) WASN'T THAT THE COOLEST?? AHHH GOD I LOVED IT! AND THE HESITATION- it's those small details that really make me love him as a character- Gabimaru. No matter what he went through- he stuck to his guns and his goals. I just- YES!

Rey you're making me question everything I know about that guy- gonna be 10000000% real: I didn't like Shugen when I first read the manga. He just kinda pissed me off and made me wanna slap him, you know? Now I wanna reread the manga where he's introduced cause there's some moments where I really did like him and I feel like I need to give him some fresh eyes, you know? (Also I have this idea for a Fuchi-Shugen fic and I want to reread it for more context) He truly is something else! :D THAT PANEL THOUGH IT'S SO GOOD!

AHHH YAY!!! Sagiri is a true queen- the absolute love of my life. BUT ALL THE CHARACTERS ARE REALLY AMAZING (I completely forgot about Shija- they were strange as hell but I agree they had some cool moments): YES! Toma surprises you like that! He starts off in the "Meh?" category and grows into the "I love you forever" kind! And GOD I LOVED THE BANTER WITH GANTETSUSAI JHERJEHJRJHE it was perfection!

RIGHT ALL OF IT!! IT WAS SO GOOD!!! AND AHH THE CANON CONFIRMATION!!! Rey my little heart exploded when they were confirmed canon AHH! Bodyguard smoddyguard- they were lovers your honor. She even says "I love you Sagi!" like COME ON!

I can't even begin to express how much joy your screaming over this manga brought me, Rey. I love Hell's Paradise so much but understand it's fairly niche- so hearing you love it as much as I do really made my entire soul happy! Thank you for that <3

The idea for this come to me because I’m not ticklish at all, though I have very close people in my life that are overly ticklish. So, there it is. Hope you’ll enjoy it. ❤️

Shunichiro Tachibana

Shun isn't very ticklish himself, but he is mischievous.

So, he tried to tickle MC and get a little bit frustrated when she hadn't responded.

That's how he found out that she isn't ticklish at all...

Eh... So much fun getting wasted.

But not for her. 

He isn't very ticklish, but that little bit is enough.

When he doesn't pay attention to her, she just tickles his armpits.

For some seconds, he is in her jurisdiction.

She doesn't do this too often, only as a last resort.

Shun, though, does everything possible to not let her do this because he feels very vulnerable.

He tried to find her weak parts but soon understood that she is totally immune to tickle.

So, he finds other ways to revenge.

Toshiaki Kijima

He is very very very ticklish.

Try to caress your fingers on his skin and he'll be like jelly.

Wiggle wiggle wiggle

MC found out about this accidentally, when she was lightly soothing his abs with her finger.

And he bent in two, trying to escape.

It took her some seconds to understand what happened.

And she burst out laughing.

He got frustrated and embarrassed.

But for her, it was very cute.

From that on, she couldn't stop herself from tickling him once in a while.

He was just too cute and vulnerable.

Once, she even did this at work, though it was accidentally.

She patted him on the shoulder and touched his skin on the neck.

It was only for a second, but long enough to make him squeeze.

Only Shun saw this and it made him smile.

Toshiaki didn't ever try to take revenge.

He found out that she isn't ticklish at all when she mentioned it in a conversation with another person.

Toma Kiriya

He was ready for tickling wars.

But soon was disappointed when he found out that MC has supremacy when it comes to this.

Toma is ticklish, though not as much as Toshiaki.

MC uses it when they are in a playful mood and he is too mean to her.

“You say that you don’t know if my lips are tastier than your frappuccino? You have to taste them again and give your verdict.”

When MC kissed him again and Toma continued to tease her, she started tickling him.

“Ok. Ok. Frappuccino is better.”

It didn’t stop MC. It did the exact opposite.

“You said you wanted an answer, not a compliment.”

MC stopped. He was right. Though, he was too cute when she was tickling him.

And his laugh. HIS DAMN, CUTE, LOVELY LAUGH.

“Can I tickle you a little bit more? Only a little...”

MC was so cute, that he couldn’t say no.

He liked to tease her.

But he liked it more when she was happy and smiling.

MC enjoyed herself for some more seconds, till Toma said that it started to hurt.

With a peaceful smile, MC hugged him tightly.

“Have I ever said that your laugh is my favorite sound?”

Toma didn’t answer.

She was saying this a hundred times a week.

But he loved it. He didn’t have something to complain about.

Go Okubo

For a while, no one tried to tickle each other. They didn’t even think about this.

Maybe, out of all the couples, they were the ones who lasted the most without trying to torture each other.

She once mentioned that she isn’t ticklish.

So, of course, he had to try it and make sure himself that she isn’t.

He tried.

She wasn’t ticklish.

He regretted.

MC was running after him to find out if he was ticklish or not.

Of course, he was, if he was running like a racing horse to avoid her.

It took her a while to find the right moment to tickle him.

She found his weak spots and let him go.

MC sometimes threatens him that she’ll use this knowledge, though she never really does.

She tickles him only for a few seconds when they are both in a playful mode.

Taku Hayama

MC didn’t try to tickle him.

She was just resting her head on his shoulder when he asked her to move it.

She was very confused and a little embarrassed, because she thought she did something wrong.

It took her a while to make him say where was the problem.

And the problem was very big and unexpected.

He said that her breath is tickling his neck and he can’t take it.

For a while, MC just looked at him, not understanding if he was joking and not.

When his face started to get red because of her stare, she burst out laughing.

Taku wasn’t as happy as her.

So, he tried to take revenge and tickled her.

It made MC laugh harder and he didn’t understand at first if this was because of his tickling or not.

She had to explain that she isn’t ticklish and it doesn’t work this way.

He was more embarrassed this time.

From time to time, MC still puts her head on Taku’s neck, till he asks her to stop or finds a way in which it doesn’t bother him.

Natsume Asaoka

He knew that she isn't ticklish, taking into consideration that they spend their childhood together and that's what children do.

He isn't very ticklish but has his weak spots about which MC knows.

She, sometimes, uses them and tickle him until he asks her to stop.

She doesn't do this often, because she got her dose in childhood.

She was using this as her way to take revenge on his teasing.

High school Natsume and MC running around Saitama because one was a bad boy and another one wanted vengeance.

Natsume tried to tickle her a few times, when they started dating, to make sure that she didn’t change.

He wasn’t disappointed that she remained the same. He already knew how to tease her in other, more interesting ways.

MC had to find other ways to take revenge because running around won’t work when you’re 27.

Yukihisa Maki

He found out from somewhere that tickle was used as an aphrodisiac.

He had no idea if that works, taking into consideration that he isn’t ticklish at all.

So, he just had to try it on MC.

He tried on every spot he could and this didn’t work.

When he finished, she simply said that she isn’t ticklish.

If she isn’t ticklish, that means there are more spots that could be caressed and kissed, isn’t it?

It’s a win-win situation.

MC wanted to tickle him, to find out his weak spots and to make him vulnerable.

Though, he understood what she wanted to do just by looking at her and said that it wouldn’t work because they are the same.

She was sad. Very sad. She just wanted to see a different part of him.

He wasn’t sad at all. He was amused by her reaction.

So, to tease her, he said that there’s a spot where he is ticklish.

It took MC a lot of attempts to understand that he was just joking.

Keita Mitsuura

He is very ticklish.

Just like Toma, he was ready for tickling fights, but they weren’t going to happen.

He is another one who found out that tickle was used as an aphrodisiac.

So, he tried this on MC.

She didn't understand it until he explained.

MC had to tell him that it won't work, taking into consideration that she isn't ticklish at all. But she tried to do it on him.

He wasn't very happy, because it looked more like torture than an aphrodisiac

Every time MC is mischievous, she tickles him saying that this was his idea.

He had to find ways to get revenge on her because of this.

Rei Kamiki

He’s not ticklish at all.

MC tried to tickle him while he was sleeping, but this didn’t help at all.

Though he waked up and gave her a stare so she immediately regretted she tried it.

Instead of tickling, MC pats him. Because he is a cat. His appearance screams ‘PAT ME’.

For a while, MC thought that he doesn’t have the slightest interest in tickling her.

Though, once when she expected the least, he tried it.

It was her time to give him a strange look.

He wanted to apologize, but she burst out laughing.

When she explained that he can try how many times he wants and that’s useless, he pouted.

So, instead of tickling her, he usually hugs her. At least she reacts to this.

Jun Araki

He can control his own ticklishness.

If someone does this unexpected, he’ll react for like 2 seconds and then stop.

But let’s be serious, who’ll have the courage to tickle him?

Of course the kids from the orphanage.

MC found out that he is a little bit ticklish only because of them.

Nanami tickled him and she saw it.

Though, at the same moment, he gave her a look that made her decide that she won’t ever try it if she wants to live a long life.

Even if he isn’t angry with kids who do this to him, he asked them to stop, because he can accidentally hit them.

Of course, they don’t listen to him. So, with time he becomes as immune to ticklish as MC.

He, meanwhile, tried to tickle her and was really disappointed when he found out that he can’t do this.

He tried a lot of times to do this and didn’t give up until he tickled every millimeter of her body to convince himself that she doesn’t have a weak spot.

fave mangaka styles (part 1)

this is based off another post but if I added my commentary it would’ve been to long, here’s a super long list of manga styles i love and were definitive to my own art

-Takeshi Obata, best known for doing the art for the Death Note manga, I first discovered him from Hikaru no Go

-Rei Toma, I love how she draws eyes with gradients, they look almost like sea glass

-Kaori Yuki, I think she’s a super underrated mangaka, her art is one of the most definitive of the gothic manga art style that was popular in the 90s/2000s

-Hirohiko Araki, his art’s super colorful and his posing is always dynamic, great lineart, despite the misogyny

-Io Sakisaka, definitely one of my fave artists when I first started getting into shoujo manga, she’s best known for her series Ao Haru Ride, the big glassy eyes she’s known for is my favorite aspect of her style

-Ai Yazawa, best known for her NANA series, she’s got a great grasp on glam and rock aesthetics, her style has definite pop art feel. I really like the wide eyes and lashes her characters have.
