Hello, thank you so much for this! @sevensistersofsussex and I started Would It Be A Sin solely because we wanted to try collaborating. She’s one of my favourite Klena authors and one of my best friends. Absolute gem of a person. She’s the first person I met in this fandom, and I remember those early days fondly, when she was writing QOTH and I was writing Irresistible.

We both wanted to write something low pressure and low key cute and fluffy and this is the plot we came up with.

Thank you for encouraging me to write Sin! I didn’t really have the time when you sent this in, but the chapter is up now, and I do hope you enjoy it!

1. Do you prefer writing series or standalone fics?

i actually prefer standalone fics rather than writing a series!! i do have alot of ideas in my head in the several different fandoms i've worked on, but the thought of writing even the first book is extremely taxing... if i add a second and a third in the batch... i'll exhaust me that's for sure...

though i think it wouldn't hurt to try but so far my wips are standalone fics (though i do have plans to write a star wars fic following all three movies - but i think i'd rather bunch em all in a single fic and would decide to cut it into three parts, acts 1, 2, and 3.

2. A fic you look forward to writing in the future?

that would be the princess diaries elejah fic!!! im super excited to share that with you all once i'm done with it! i have an outline of the things i want written & i still have to watch the film(s) just in case i missed something.

3.  An neglected work you wished you would finish?

its extremely hard to have multiple fandoms all at once - i'll answer this with a fic that i love so much but i couldn't find the inspiration to finish it, it's got to be my ripped poems in the pocket of your jeans i have written and researched ALOT of things about this but my priorities have changed coughs tvd, starwars cough it's so sad that i can't write it at the moment...

I would say please do send me the link, but with that being said, I might have the very best of intentions to read it and get back to you, but I’m so overwhelmed right now between being a full time mom to a chaotic toddler AND working from home, AND preparing for a public speaking event I have next month… that I might not be able to get to it for quite some time. Believe me, if I had time, I would be posting much more frequent updates, responding to every anon in a timely manner, and reading and commenting on the work from all of the fabulous klena writers we are so blessed with in this fandom 💗💗💗 I miss being engaged with fandom in a more active way so much!!

what are your favorite musicals?

hehe anon, you have opened Pandora's box with this question. I know this blog 95% ATLA content with increasingly more smut prompts, but musicals are my first love and I will talk all day any day about them. You asked the perfect question to break me out of my ATLA mode.

But now to actually answer your question. My favorite musicals at the moment (because it changes a lot) is:

Hadestown - because who doesn't love a Greek Tragedy set in the 1920s that you know will end with tears but you still think it'll work out in the end. Also, Eva Noblezada is a GODDESS and no one can convince me otherwise (pls no one try to convince me otherwise). Don't tell the authorities, but I've watched the slime tutorials of this show too many times to count and love it every time.

Little Women - It one wasn't as popular, but I love Sutton Foster and that was the first time I had seen her in. The music is great, we get some woman empowerment, and it warms my heart. It's probably a comfort musical for me, mostly because I have such good memories of seeing it as a child.

Book of Morman - It's hilarious (though a bit inappropriate at times, even for me). The music is amazing!! 🤩 It will have you laughing and singing along so fast.... though perhaps not if you're Mormon irl. Josh Gad was in the original broadway cast which made it even better (though after Frozen, whenever I hear his voice I think of Olaf and that becomes weird when listening to the music alone lol). I take friends who say they hate musicals to this show and they love it.

Anastasia - This is a beautiful show to see! Christy Altamore is a gem as Anya!! I met her backstage too and she's probably one of the most genuine and sweet people I've met. There's no Rasputin or magic in the show, but it really builds on the historical aspects that you see gives you some new songs from the same musicians who wrote the music to the animated movie. Dimitry, played by Derek Klena, gets his own song which is 👌. Also a comfort show to watch/listen to.

Ok, so I'll leave you with these 4 for now. Know that I do love the hits such as Dear Even Hanson, Wicked, Hamilton, In the Heights, West Side Story, etc., but these four are the ones I've been listening to most often recently.

I’m having a really busy week this week (grading midterms 😱😱😱) but I’m hoping to have at least 1 update for SWBS out before the weekend... and of course, as we edge closer to finishing that, I’m getting so excited about returning to FE that I could SCREAM.

I have NOT seen the Ben Hur movie! We all know Joseph Morgan ages like a fine wine. What vintage is this movie? Pre-TVD? Mansfield Park era? (If we’re talking anything in the Originals range I will FLIP because he’s just unspeakably hot by that point!!!)
