like yea I've had DMPCs before but Liadra was my first one in Pathfinder so she's got a special place in my heart.
All her wildshapes have little cheek feathers and scarring for matchies.
#evie art#oc art#pathfinder#druid#her eye is sparking because she's an android that got Fucked Up#her gestalt is interesting because I really super wanted to make druid/kineticist work#so I did elemental ascetic kineticist which means all my wildshape natural attacks get bonus damage from blast dice (almost) passively#looking up whether or not kinetic blasts function during wildshape is such an obscure thing that essentially I said fuckit#I'll just take Natural Spell to cover my bases#but the Kinetic Fist infusion states it works w natural attacks so....#kineticist gestalting with anything gets muddied with rule interpretations and ability interactions#very fun but also very tedious#my favorite is kineticist/paladin#especially if you're using the spheres of power Divine Conduit Kineticist archetype#you know. for funsies#anyway ask me about pathfinder I'm super normal about it I promise

3, 12, and 23?
3. favorite line/scene you wrote this year
The toughest thing I got through this year was most of Blood-Sucker's Guide to High School. I feel like it's, uh.... disingenuous, a little, to say that I'm really proud of it, since I pulled the plot more-or-less wholesale from another book, but you know what? I didn't pull most of the dialogue or most of the specific scenes. That one scene behind the stage was HARD but I think it turned out well at the end.
12. favorite character to write about this year
I think I wrote a lot of good Shadow things recently. I think Shadow has a lot of interesting character moments, and I feel like I have a better handle on him and the sorts of things I want to do with him now. He's mischievous and takes himself both so seriously and not seriously at all.
23. fic you wanted to write but didn't
For one of the Fright Fight prompts in October, I wanted to write a FS modern AU story where all the boys got together to play Pathfinder. I wanted it to be high level with several alt rules to give them all as much room to be chaotic as possible. It ended up being too much for me (especially after spending all of September frantically writing for the first week), but my plan was:
Shadow as the GM, he would be like one of my old friends: tons of monsters and rules memorized, very down for shenanigans, and an enabler of cool things. He's put together an undead-themed campaign, so each of the characters gets a free undead archetype on top of the normal free archetype.
Green: his character is an orc mummy champion of like, Sarenrae or something (for D&D friends, a champion is a paladin)
Blue: he's an iruxi (lizardfolk) zombie fighter focused around Power Attack
Red: leshy (tiny plant thing) vampire kineticist (firebender)
Vio: anadi (giant spider/humanoid shape shifter, I came up with so much extra lore for them last year) ghost thaumaturge with some edgy background
