we need to have the conversation of how charles fans treat his teammates without falling into the accusatory zone that we want to harm charles by having this conversation.

i mean charles no harm, but it is something that is getting extremely out of hand and it needs to be talked about. some charles fans have gotten too freely with being cruel to others drivers.

people used to call sebastian vettel a CORPSE. yes, scuderia ferrari screwed him. yes, everyone loves sebastian vettel again NOW (because he is far away from it and free from this hell) but back in 19/20? charles fans, mainly on twitter, made his life miserable. he couldn’t win. he couldn’t make anyone happy. if he won, he was taking something from charles that belonged to charles rightfully. it he lost, he was old and bad and should retire already and this sport wasn’t for him. he wasn’t a team player. he didn’t care about ferrari. he wanted to screw charles over.

if you just got here, if carlos is your first experience of how charles’ teammates are treated, let me tell you. everything that is being said about carlos has already been said about sebastian. and it is crazy for some people to understand that because everyone loves sebastian again, so you can’t even imagine what he went throught.

and i’m sorry for generalizing all of charles fans, im a charles fan, but it is something we need to stop and look at and talk about. how long will we let it go. how long until it starts to happen to lewis hamilton, of all people. how long until they dismiss his victories and say he is old and should give up of this sport so charles can win.

and you know one of the worst part? charles loves to race. every time he had to fight for it, he loved it. when he and carlos race in that track, he comes out with a big smile and talking about how he loves to race carlos. how this is real racing. he loves to fight for it. to prove himself. to have to sweat for it.

all while his fans try to make everyone just bow down their heads and give him things in a plate, already chewed and easy to get. as if he would like that. as if he can’t prove himself worth otherwise. as if he isn’t good enough to fight for it.

anyway, hello streets are saying checo is going to announce his retirement in a few hours and that it’s most definitely liam getting promoted (which, whatever, don’t even want to get into it rn 😒) but i found out earlier that apparently horner and marko aren’t even in charge of checo’s contract??? like it’s with the shareholders and that’s why they had a meeting yesterday AND that they had come to a agreement that the issues were with checo’s side of the garage including his race engineer which!!! we’ve been saying that that man dislikes checo

anywho, if checo does announce his retirement (since horner and marko can’t exact drop him) i will be the most annoying person on this app especially if they chose liam over yuki

gang gets stranded in the woods is a hysterical episode for a lot of reasons but the whole premise of the episode being mac crashed the car because there was a squirrel in the road really makes it. i can think of 20 reasonable options for car trouble that could open the episode or even avoiding a deer in the road (which can happen in rural jersey) but. mac grabbed the wheel to avoid a squirrel.

when did you start watching f1 and how did you get into it? (also, what was the first driver you liked/got attached to?)

i started watching f1 in march of last year! the first race i ever watched was aus '24 which now is so funny (as i've said before) bc max DNF'd for the first time in like 85 years bc his BRAKES CAUGHT ON FIRE and george ate shit on the last lap for no conceivable reason and carlos sainz won and i was just like "these all seem like things that just happen sometimes"

anyway, i watched that race under duress and didn't really form an attachment, but my gay fanfic radar pinged immediately and i was like "i bet there is some gooooood rpf for this sport." so i read a bunch of lestappen and learned charles' lore through that? so for a long time i didn't really know what was real and what was fanon? but yeah, after about a week of immersing myself in the glorious, glorious f1 fandom ao3 tag, i was like "i think i could ALSO get into this as a sport for real," so i watched china and japan and i'm nothing if not obsessive about niche sports, so the rest is history!!

the first driver i got attached to was actually charles, because he seemed very tragic from all of the lestappen that i read. it was a lot of longfic (this one realllllly stuck with me), and i was very drawn to his lore. i was soooo primed to be a charles fan, but when i started asking my irl f1 fan (the one who i watched aus with) questions and letting him teach me, he was VERY anti- me picking charles as my favorite. he was like "that's the most basic thing you could possibly do as a woman getting into f1" and i was like you know what? fine. i still like charles from a distance, but my love for him faded kind of around august, when i started liking oscar way more. it's funny bc now being a lando fan is the most basic thing i think i could do as a woman in f1 fandom, but it's whatever. it all worked out.

All this discours about Jason and Bruce toxic relationship and how Bruce would kill Jason if Jason kills Dick and how Bruce and Dick will never love or see Jason as family and Jason is destined to be alone and miserable. it's all making ME miserable. your interpretation is what I want, you're the only bitch in this house I trust Amelie

I mean, yeah Jason and Bruce toxic relationship, in the same way Bruce has a toxic relationship with legit everyone in his life at this point because the people writing him are physically incapable of letting him grow and change and heal and treat people in his life better, is there any one of his kids they haven't had him beat up at this point??? And you know what, I'm sure Bruce would kill Jason if he murdered Dick in cold blood, because Bruce has a tendency to go murderously apeshit when one of his kids dies. Do you know how I know that? Well I know that because of that time Bruce set out to murder the Joker for killing Jason and then didn't stop him from being blown up in a helicopter for killing Jason and didn't do anything except ask that his body be found because he killed Jason and then routinely nearly beat him to death for killing Jason. It's similar to that time Dick actually for real beat the Joker to death with his bare hands for killing Jason; 'bruce and dick will never love jason or see jason as family' my absolute ass!

This doesn't even touch on the fact that, like, of all the members of the Batfamily who'd logically view Jason as family no matter what, Bruce and Dick are the MOST likely, because they knew him first! They knew him longest! They were there when he was a little boy, they have the longest bond with him, they're the ones who remember who lived with him and loved him before his death and most crucially, they're the ones who had to learn to live without him. They, along with Alfred and to a lesser extent Barbara, are the ones who've only ever grieved Jason the person, the ones who had to navigate the trauma of what his death to them as people and to their dynamics and their sense of order in the world. Bruce turns into a crazy person; Dick is inconsolable when he finds out! Like, I'm sorry, but there are no two people less likely not to be obsessed with reintegrating Jason back into the fold. Like, yes, these people all have unhealthy and deeply toxic relationships to each other, but that's not something you can really look at from a Watsonian perspective; it's the fact that comics are so decentralized people are almost simultaneously doing their own thing, as well as DC's inability to really know what to do with their characters or understand what character development is, along with their constant reboot bullshit. Singling out Jason's relationships as being somehow uniquely toxic is just laziness at this point.

Also I refuse to buy into any ideas of Jason being alone and miserable, sorry but I'm not gonna look at a teenager with a history of abuse and victimization and hardship and tell him that it's all he'll ever know, especially not when giving up and giving in isn't in Jason's nature and we have alternate realities that show that he's always able to rise above.
