#my father when basic human compassion: 😱😱😱

Was watching some news story with my dad that involved an autistic kid, and they were telling the story with the typical "ohhhhhh it's so Tragic™... their autism Takes Away from who they are...my life is so hard caring for them...we need a cure :((((((" thing, and I said to my dad "man it's so annoying how they always treat autistic people like burdens on everyone around them that need to be cured instantly. we don't need to cure autism, we need to be more accomodating"

And he goes "What do you mean it's annoying? You don't have autism?"

This just in folks: you cannot care about people who aren't you! Compassion? Allyship? What's that?
