Ramking is that thing where you're reading a really good fic, and the most recent chapter ended on a cliffhanger. It's all good, though, because the fic is unfinished, so you just have to wait for an update, but then you check the dates and realise that the fic has not been updated for five years and now you're left in the dust knowing that this thing has been left to rot and you're just gonna have to make peace with the cliffhanger. Except it's slightly worse because it's not just a fic, it's the actual canon material.

Day 3: Side Dish That Should Have Been the Main Course

I love a good side dish. So often they are so much more interesting than the main course. Or at least I wish they could have had more screen time, like Aran and Tattoo from Jack and Joker. They deserve more. But for this challenge I choose two other side dishes. Two that I have still not been able to move on from.

Jaab and Jane from Step by Step.

I guess it is no secret that I didn't like the main couple that much. I was more interested in the story of Jaab and Jane and how this all worked out in the end. We never got any real closure. Just a hint that Jaab visits Jane. But did Jane know about it? Was it arranged and desired? Are they together? What else exactly happened between them? Maybe I'm just a little pining-girlie and I like this slow-burn, the cheating and the hurt, but in the end I need some fire! That was so unsatisfying! But still, I found their scenes so much more interesting than the main couple. I realised that I was more bothered by the fact that there was no real conclusion.

My second answer is RamKing from My Engineer.

While I've already forgotten who the main couple actually was, these two have stuck in my mind and again we have this unsatisfying, half open ending. These two deserved their own series. They were cute together and their story was interesting, the dynamics and the script were just right for them. I love them and I will never be not angry that we didn't get their own series.

2. X & Q - 21 Day Theory (we were robbed)

3. Sea & Tin - Friend Forever (we were robbed, again) 

4. Pluem & Kewin - Ghost Host, Ghost House (all round amazing chemistry with these too, like top tear. I hope we get them again in a better BL) 

5. Win & Tops - Ingredients, I’m gonna say it, if you know JeffGame’s ease and connection with each other from this show you can’t NOT see how hard Jeff was struggling with his partner in KP. And yes, I do think age was a factor, but also prior established friendship. 

6. The & Oh-aew - ITSAY, these tow can break your heart with just one look 

7. Ae & Pete - Love By Chance, I mean COME ON

8. Ram & King - My Engineer (PerthLay were on point in Y-Destiny too), Talay is good, he has great eye intimacy with Yoon too (YYY), and Yoon had terrible eye work in Unforgotten Night so I’m assuming that it’s mostly Lay. 

9. Fighter & Tutor - Why R U? (Zee, in general, does a TON of emoting with his eyes, I thought Saint was better at reciprocating than NuNew, but I have my fingers crossed for ZeeNu forthcoming fantasy piece) 

10. JimmySea (whatever their characters were variably called) - Vice Versa

I had to limit myself to Thai Bl or frankly Taiwan would sweep the category.
