Been meaning to post up some of my crew wearing the swag I got from Resin Rose and finally got the energy for it haha.
First up, we have two spike chokers I got from marabandbjd. I first saw them posted on IG a while back and knew I’d have to get a few at the con haha. Sachi and Farai are looking pretty smashing in them.
Next are two rings and a necklace from of adornment. I’ve been wanting to snatch up jewelry from them for ages and were the primary vendor I wanted to visit since they only sell leftover pieces online after conventions. Didn’t get as much stuff as I would have liked, but there was a ton of other stuff to look at ahaha. xD;
I also got two kimono (and some bead bracelets as well, though I don’t have those photographed) from Mischief Maker Designs for Hiei and Riyo. Almost got a green set for Riyo, but the little flowers on this red one were calling to me hahaha. Pretty much always have this gal in florals. xD
Jonathan is modeling one of several tops I got from Striped Green Threads. My larger dolls have been in need to spoiling for a while, so it was nice to snag a few things for them.
Then lastly are a pile of keychains Rae gave me! She took and printed out pictures of us, me and my friend Jen, as well as Sachi and Riyo with Shrimp to put into each. She also accidentally broke the My Melody keychain because we couldn’t figure out how to open it lmao (as it turned out…it slides open bahaha). Got all those hanging up on my corkboard by my bed now. ok im. still fucking Pissed at not finding my watercolor pencils anywhere so theres that. But ive made an inventory of the dolls i got for customizing, and i got: three small kelly dolls, two ever after high dolls (one with blue forearms, one with two left hands 😔 they were cheaper for a reason), three monster high dolls (two of them pretty busted, one with a broken knee and the other with a lot of permanent marker stains), one closed-mouth barbie, one open-smile barbie, and one inset eye doll
so, with the smaller kelly dolls, i can make: Greg from Over The Garden Wall, Alexandria from The Fall, Danny Torrance from The Shining
with the ever after high dolls, i can make: Clara (a corpse bride oc) and either Abigail Hobbs from Hannibal, or India Stoker from Stoker, or Brigitte Fitzgerald from Ginger Snaps (im leaning towards abigail mostly bc india and brigitte have more angular faces and the super roundness of the ever after high face mold might not fit them well)
with the monster high dolls, i can make: Sara (another corpse bride oc), India Stoker from Stoker, and Brigitte Fitzgerald from Ginger Snaps (monster high dolls have more angular faces that are still soft and a bit rounded so that could work. i just have the issue of one of the dolls needing a full body repaint since shes super stained and nothing has managed to clean her up 😓)
with the closed mouth barbie, i can make Olimpia Gómez (an oc)
with the open smile barbie, im torn between Tiffany from Bride Of Chucky or Audrey from Little Shop Of Horrors (i dont like the open smile face mold, but i would like to use it regardless, and i think tiffanys attitude might fit better -and the irony of having a tiffany barbie is fun- but also i love audrey so so much too......)
and with the inset eye doll...... man i just got it bc her body had articulation and the barbies i got dont, her face is really weird and i have no clue how i can make a repaint with it 🙃

Just a little side note but I am endlessly fascinated by the fact that “object of affection” is an expression, a thing people say. The concept that someone’s affection turns their beloved into an object, a thing to be put on a shelf. Or, more fittingly: something to be picked up from the shelf and hugged, kissed, cuddled. Affection that in a sense strips you of your bodily autonomy.
— and I was, of course, thinking about whether we have an equivalent in German. Yes, but not quite. We have “Objekt der Begierde” — object of desire (which is also used in English, apparently?). And oh. Oh. That’s another stage altogether. Olimpia, reverse Galatea. My desire for you turns you into a doll, traps you in amber. Especially since that term is usually used to refer to something out of reach. Something in its desirability becomes more — or less — human.
To me, object of affection seems intimate, which of course makes it claustrophobic at times. An object to be loved, whether it loves in turn or not. Object of desire seems farther off, something to be longed and growled for, something just out of reach that, due to its status as unreachable, becomes even more tempting. But either way, either way — there’s a possessiveness to that, a sense of greed. My feelings for you will turn you into an object, will strip you down to my want for you.

Another doll painted by Komorebi Dolls (Kira has essentially become my main bitch when it comes to faceups lmao). This is Olimpia, my Dust of Dolls Cham Namu. She needs moar clothes. Curse my want of dolls that are weird sizes. D;
Anyway, this girl has made herself a home in The Witcher universe. I opted to make her a higher vampire. Her doll version is definitely more cutesy looking than what I envision her in my head, but whatever. Dolls be dolls.

Got this haul from Taobao in last week. Absolutely in love with Shuu’s new outfit, but it all is definitely just slightly too small for him. The shirt fits fine, but the buttons on the cuffs are holding on for dear life (I actually had to take his hands off to fasten them before shoving them over his wrists). The pants are definitely on the tight side; he’s fine as long as he’s standing. xD; Also still need to get him shoes for his huge honkin’ feet. D;
Speaking of shoes, Olimpia now has a new pair of boots! Her feet just barely fit in them, but yeah, glad to have something that suits her finally (all I owned in her size were cutesy YoSD things bahaha). Still want to get her a pair of leather pants. She needs a coat too. P;
The crocs were what I was most hype about with this order, buuuuut unfortunately they’re too big for the doll I intended them for. xD; They fit great on Riyo though, so she’s taken them over. Tempted to just commission someone to 3D print me some crocs for my slim minis bahaha. Nori needs a gold pair to go with that loud-ass outfit!
Annnnd a rare look at my custom Blythe. xD I don’t have a name for her yet, but at least now she has shoes. Didn’t really have anything that suited her style for a long time ahaha…
I also got a few props for the dolls too. The food is perf scale for my minis. The only thing that bugs me about them is that they have magnets glued to the bottom of them, so I gotta figure out a way to try and detach those without damaging the props. :B There’s also some bracelet/bangles I got for the minis, a pair of shoes that I originally got for my Asleep Eidolon Abyss before I decided to order him a head stand body… xD;; I guess Jonathan will take over the shoes bahaha. The final pair of boots are for Hiei that I’m hoping will work for whenever I get around to having his character outfit made. Finding a pair of simple (no frills or buckles or anything) black boots that aren’t heels for Minifee feet is impossible, I swear. D;

my two doll heads (a regular barbie and a mobster high). the barbie will be Olimpia Gómez, an OC of mine, and the monster high will be Sara, my interpretation of Emily from Corpse Bride.
i have no idea why Olimpia ended up looking like Keira Knightley, but ok

3,4,18,21, 36,38,39, 40,41,48,49 ?? :P
thank you tons!!! oh my these are a lot
3.     Computer or pen and paper?
both! i usually write ideas on my notes app in my phone, but other times i find it easier to write on a sketchpad or a notebook, since i can also make little drawings of the clothing the characters wear or the place they would be or the objects they’d interact with to help me visualize them
4.     Have you ever been published, or do you want to be published?
i actually participated in a sci-fi writing contest a few years ago, in 2014. i won third prize, and the ten or so kids who won had their short stories published in a little book that i’m told was given to public libraries and schools across the country. so i guess there’s that??
18.  If you could collaborate with anyone, who would it be, and what would you write about?
geez i don’t know... i don’t know about a lot of living writers :/ i do have an essayist i adore, María Negroni, who shares a lot of my interests and who is a marvelous poetess. i’d love to work on a novel, an essay or on a short story with her!
21.  Who is/are your favourite character(s) to write?
answered it here !!
36.  Last sentence you wrote
from my addams family fanfic: “Homero Gómez had been wanting to visit the country and some of its several well-recommended cities for a while now –but it didn’t seem as if he had landed in anything resembling a city at all.“
38.  Weirdest story idea you’ve ever had
i think it probably was my frankenstein/barbie fanfic, but a few years ago i’ve thought of a story for a short mini series called “Mirna y su Semana de Pecados” (Mirna and her Week of Sins), inspired by “Bedazzled” (1967), about a lonely young woman who is visited by the devil, and decides to sell her soul in exchange of a week of enjoying each of the seven deadly sins. so far so good, but the catch is that the devil actively attempts to reduce the pleasure mirna can get from those days -makes the delicious food she eats in the day of gluttonery make her sick for half the day, the beauty she achieves in the day of envy feels empty since everyone admires her but she still feels alone and empty, similar to the riches mirna gets on the day of avarice, the day of sloth just exacerbating mirna’s depression -just for her own devilish amusement. it all culminates on the day of pride, in which mirna, absolutely desperate and furious at the devil for having tricked her so, ends up gruesomely killing the devil -and taking her place, wearing the devil’s red leather platform boots. even now i’m not sure what i was thinking
39.  Weirdest character concept you’ve ever had
i’m really not sure.... maybe Carolina, the possessed porcelain doll who has lived almost a decade hidden away in a shoebox in a closet, desperate for company and friends
40.  Share some backstory for one of your characters
answered this one here with one of my recurrent OCs, but since i love talking about my OCs i’ll talk about another :^) Adriana D’Amato, who becomes Olimpia’s girlfriend, is from a family of anarchist who lived in Sicily. when she was a young girl she was sent with a few of her brothers to Argentina, to escape the persecution of anarchists during fascist Italy; while in Argentina she fell in love and eloped to Buenos Aires with another girl, who in the end left her to marry her fiancé. bitter after this, Adriana joined the anarchist party where she spends most of her time, besides her part-time job as a telephone operator at Telam, and as an amateur photographer. she loves poetry and literature and is very romantic, while also being kind of ruthless and extremely militant.
41.  Any advice for new/beginning/young writers?
answered it here, too !
48.  What’s the most self-insert character/scene you’ve ever written?
a lot of my characters have several of my own traits, mostly being a bit shy or reclusive or having anxiety, so there’s that... the most self-insert character, however, i think must be either Olimpia Gómez (whom i’ve talked plenty about here) but i think there’s a lot of me in Ana, the depressed girl who finds comfort in the possessed porcelain doll that used to belong to her grandmother, and in Beto and Virgi, the couple who come from different background and love each other despite it and despite their own issues (i’ve written them as a way to visualize my own issues with anxiety and depression)
49.  Which character would you most want to be friends with, if they were real?
almost everyone from my most positive stories, Lux Errante and Entre Tiempos Cósmicos (the ones from ask 30)! they’re all either super smart cosmonauts who have seen the marvels of the universe, or cool kids who support each other and just have fun and spend time together
i just thought that a lot of my stories have pinterest boards with their own aesthetics all planed out, so if you want to check a few of them out i’m listing them here!
La Ejecutora
El Moderno Prometeo
Los Prototipos
Lux Errante
Entre Tiempos Cósmicos
Mi Amiga Carolina
Verano en Los Manzanos
Muerte & Matrimonio
Cuentos Góticos

13, 20, 30, 40 !!
thank you so much for the ask!!!!!!
13.  Describe your writing process from idea to polished i’m not really sure, but i think i’d go something like this: i get the idea usually by either being obsessed with a property (whether it’s frankenstein, beetlejuice or barbie) or by thinking up characters and adding traits and backstory to them, and then thinking up possible dynamics for them to have with other characters. then, i try to figure out a particular context (place and time) that could fit these characters, and i make sure to think it up in such a way that it doesn’t really conflict with the source material (for my barbie-frankenstein fanfic, for example, i didn’t want to set it in early 19th century, because i wanted vivianna to be able to become barbara roberts at some point, and as such it was more comfortable to preserve the victorian aesthetic while also being closer to the 20th century); if there’s not a proper space and time these characters can feel comfortable in (whether because of a particularly tense political situation, persecution, or simply The Wrong Aesthetic Choice), i make up one. after that i begin to write dialogues and location descriptions, try to picture it all in my head as clearly as possible. then, after i have some scenes written and some interactions done, i try to organize them, thinking what should come first, what can lead to a good finale, what would be the most important moment for each character and so on. when this is done, i usually already figure out the ending and can structure everything to lead up to it. after that, it’s all a matter of sitting down and writing between the scenes i’ve already done, editing them and adding whatever new ideas i get in the meantime. usually this is what takes the longest, because by this point i’m losing steam and interest and become distracted by new projects... but sometimes i manage to finish it and by then the editing process starts on full, checking for any grammar or spelling mistakes, wrong pronouns or words or names, usually cutting down on redundant descriptions or dialogues, adding things if i think something is not clear enough or erasing things if they seem too on the nose, and then i do this over and over until i feel it’s good enough.
20.  How many WIPs and story ideas do you have? oh boy do i have plenty. i’ve sorta finished the first novel of the story of Olimpia Gómez -the first one is simply called “La Ejecutora, 1938″; i’m currently writing the second, the third and the fourth ones -”La Ejecutora, 1946″, “La Ejecutora, 1954″, and “La Ejecutora, 1966″ respectively. then i also have almost finished my stage adaptation version of “Corpse Bride”, which i renamed “Death and Marriage”. i’m a chapter away at finishing my toy story fanfic, “Sitting On The Shelf”. i’ve written a single chapter of a beetlejuice fanfic about the maitlands that i still haven’t found a proper name fore, but which i’m very excited about. i’m writing several chapters at once of a massive addams family fanfic, focused on most of the main family characters’ backstories or developments beyond the nineties movies, which i’m calling “Family Beyond Blood”. i’ve started a little princess tutu fanfic that i’m not sure if i should continue, but which is a stylistic deviation of what i’ve been writing so far, so that’s good. i’ve kind of abandoned another fanfic idea i had, “Vulnavia & Vulnavia”, from one of my favorite horror movies, “abominable dr phibes”, which i have to come back to... and like the madwoman i am, i’m planning on rewriting the star wars sequel trilogy, so i got that in my to do list, as well. besides those fanfics, i got a sci-fi novel being developed, called “Los Prototipos”, about two twins that escape the enclosure where they had been raised to find out they were being studied to make a single-minded working force (kind of like the replicants in blade runner) with an expiration date -all this set in a dystopic 1960s country somewhere in latinamerica, tackling issues of economic imperalism, forced labor and independece through revolution. this is one of my most political works, so i’m giving it a lot of space to breathe. i’ve also began some time ago a series of noir/horror short stories set in Buenos Aires, one of them based on a short movie script i’ve written, which i’m really excited to do -because i’m usually crap at writing short stories -but i’ve left it in standby until i finish the bigger projects first... and then I Have Scripts, Baby! “Mi Amiga Carolina”, about a possessed doll that emotionally manipulates a depressed teenager that moves alone into her grandmother’s old house; “El Moderno Prometeo”, a (mostly) faithful retelling of frankenstein set in Argentina, focused on the family drama of the frankenstein family and on the relationships between victor, daniela (justine, here being his older sister), quique (henry) and elsa (elizabeth); a screen adaptation of a novel of a friend of mine, “La Chica Que Trabajaba Los Sábados”, about a non-practising jewish woman in Buenos Aires who falls in love with a rabbi, and how their relationship ebbs and flows; and “Verano en los Manzanos”, about a boy who lives in rural Córdoba who falls in love with a girl from Buenos Aires (i try to write what i know, usually), and who as they grow up become a couple, have a kid, and ultimately wind up apart due to his struggle with depression and her own struggle with acute anxiety, all of this interweaved with his own return to the little forgotten village he grew up on, where he reflects on the life he used to have. so, in total... 16 WIP. plenty.
30.  Favourite idea you haven’t started on yet i just now realized that i forgot to mention it in the last point, but technically i havent’ even started, so yeah, it’s just an idea: a series of sci-fi books about a parallel history in which India was the first country to go to the moon, and in which South America has the ASADE (Asociação Sul-Americana D’exploração Espacial), where they train cosmonauts to explore the vastness of space: set in an alternate 1930, a team of specialists on several fields and from several countries (the ones I got thought up already are captain Alfonsina Shua, from argentina, and copilot Adolfo Chaviano, from a paraguayan-argentinean couple) go on the fifth ever tripulated voyage. on an exploration, copilot Chaviano gets lost and disappears in space, cut off from his crew, and ends up going through a wormhole and crossing a threshold between sci-fi and fantasy of a blooming star -rendering him immortal but extremely radiated, which allows him to continue exploring space (ending up in several planets, registering his encounters with varied extraterrestrial cultures) while back in Earth the ASADE and his family try to locate him and bring him back home -it’s basically “The Martian” meets “The Little Prince”. and then, there’s the sequel series, about the three grandchildren of Adolfo Chaviano, who, after his death, discover that their grandfather had been developing a time machine alongside Alfonsina to go back in time and look for a way to revert the effects of the radiation in him, in order for him to live longer -and, perhaps, to find the way to become immortal and continue exploring the deepest limits of space. set in an alternate 1971, where space travel is now commonplace, the three siblings, Lena, Majo and Laucha embark on a space mission, meeting all sorts of new characters similarly affected by radiation and some mysterious magical/space properties, in order to find Alfonsina and ask her to give them one more chance to ask questions and say goodbye to their grandfather. so yeah, i got a lot of ideas, but i haven’t been writing any scenes yet -it’s still all in my head so far.
40.  Share some backstory for one of your characters well, the original character i’ve got developed the most is Olimpia Gómez (whose birth name is Beatriz Moreno), the orphaned daughter of two spanish union workers who were killed in the Semana Trágica on 1919 by the mysterious Society (of course, working in cahoots with the repressive government), and taken in by that same Society and raised to kill supposed “criminals and dangerous subjects”. trained in the countryside, taught to always be ready to die an honorable death for peace and justice while on duty, she’s taken to Buenos Aires to prove herself by stealth-killing the targets she is given, who she is told are people beyond salvation. she’s never been popular, but her closest friend, Eugenia Menéndez, always tries to get her to open up and join her own attempts at having a normal social life -which is quite difficult when being a spy and “executioner”. Olimpia has a boyfriend, fellow agent Evaristo Gutiérrez, but by the time they’re nineteen their relationship feels cold and strained, and at the same time there’s the pull of one of the most powerful members of the organization, Azucena Velázquez, daughter of two high-ranking agents: she’s kind-of out as a lesbian (only able to be so because of her high status), and has always been interested in Olimpia; Olimpia has to wrestle with her own internalized homophobia, feelings of guilt and bisexuality in order to finally decide who she wants to be, alongside her discovery of precisely how the Society is corrupt and extremely politically motivated when electing its “targets”, which leads Olimpia to try to escape it -despite knowing that the Society is everywhere, and if she can manage to escape, it’s because the Society allows it in the first place.
