Trick or treat!

I read this late in the morning Nov 1 so here's your treat, I get an excuse of sharing the photos from my own Halloween!

My costume and some decor:

With bonus hedgehog kigurumi from my doctor's appointment!

I'm super proud of my work on those antlers. I figured out how to attach them to my headband in about half an hour? I was running out of time before I anticipated trick or treaters, and I just laid everything on the kitchen counter and bound it all down and it worked really well! Thank goodness I left enough hair up my last haircut to be able to cover up the headband like that! I really enjoyed wearing them actually, they were lightweight and comfortable and made a nice fidget. 🦌

The best costume I saw from trick or treaters, was a family costume. The 10-year-old daughter was wearing blue and white gingham with a white apron and her hair and two braids. Her little brother was wearing the most adorable little brown lion costume. And the parents, were dressed as the tin Man and the scarecrow. It made me really happy to see.

The second best costume I saw was one single kid wearing black sweatshirt and pants, and he'd taken a grocery sack, paper grocery sack, made a space for his head out the bottom and his arms at the sides, the handles were hanging down in front and back. And he had attached the grocery store logo over his mouth and nose. Super silly, super awesome, I giggled about it and wished I asked to take a picture.

*a person of determinate gender stands on your doorstep. ae is wearing a jean jacket, with the left arm embroidered with a myriad of quarter-sized purple, pink, orange, and yellow roses and the right decorated with many multicolored patches featuring unfamiliar or repurposed symbols ove a magenta shirt and fall-orange pants covered in a cream paisley pattern. she is also wearing hiking boots and a raygun holster on her belt- these are (obviously spraypainted) neon yellow. on their face, they have a neon yellow domino mask with magenta stripes and dots. the raygun in aer hand is also painted magenta, with a pattern like a sun + sunbeams radiating up from the handle. the sun motif is reflected on his jacket, with the sun on the left bottom corner and orange rays radiating across the whole chest. a yellow (not neon, thank goodness) bandana holds back their hair from their face*

I never posted the follow-up to my wig creation!

I ended up having to start again on a different wig.

I needed dip-dyed another lace front, using a much yellower green and a much shorter duration in the pot!

It started looking pretty great…

Seafair / Airshow weekend means it’s time to post Starfighter pilot photos. This is Flask, my Resistance X-wing pilot. She’s CO of Alpha Squadron, and this was taken during a shore leave on Batuu. There was a bit of a run-in with the First Order, but it was time for the Rise of the Resistance and we got away clean. We also connected with secret agent Vi Moradi.
