I think someone should try and cut off one of Varand's ears. For fun. I think he would hate that so much actually I think it would be an effective threat in the sense that he would be pissed off more than usual about it.

Honestly with his track record it is, in fact a small miracle that he has both of his ears, though I suppose it'd be a little harder to ID him as an elf if he was missing part of one.
