VERSES.
Main verse. TAG.  「 MAIN / Lynn 」
Highschool student, 17 years old.  As a transfer student, she is a bit clueless and lost at the beggining. However, she quickly got used to the institute and learnt every little secret of it. Still, this does not apply to actual people. Lynn does have a lot of friends, though, and is quite close to Kim due having her as lab partner in Chemistry. But she doesn’t get along with Amber, Capuccine, Li or Charlotte. Peggy is on thin ice. Ah but, ever so caring Lynn — she can’t help but always want to help everyone.
MCLUL verse. TAG.  「 SECOND MAIN   / Lynn 」
College student, 23 years old. Canon divergent.  Mostly based on what’s taking place in the canon of My Candy Love University Life — except that Lynn never cut ties with all friends and kept in touch with Kentin alone, she still has a hopeless crush on Nathaniel but hasn’t gotten herself involved with anyone, keeping everysingle friend at arm length. So, no route Lynn?
Third main verse. / A different outcome TAG. 「 THIRD MAIN / Lynn 」
College student, part-time worker in Kentin’s bakery, 23 year old.  She didn’t want to be bossed around by her parents, neither leaving the city she grew to love. In fact, she wanted her freedom but Lynn wasn’t having it so easy.   From a side, her parents had stood their ground but so she did, fully determinated to stay. They all bickered and argued, raising their tone than trying to find a solution — that was, until Aunt Agatha got in the middle and decided to take care of the situation.   After much talking and convincing, she persuaded Lucia and Philip. Thus, leading Lynn to win only one obstacle from the many that would appear in her road.   Happily that she got to stay rather than losing all connections, she first started to help Kentin before deciding what she wanted to do with her future.
Fourth main verse. / What if? TAG. 「 FOURTH MAIN / Lynn 」
Highschool student, 17 years old.  So what if she could see the relationship stats that she had with other people? Like, a visual novel game? Well, that was about it! It was strange but she could not see options at all, she had free speech ( thankfully ) which allowed her faster to either improve or fuck up further her relationships.
Persona 5 verse. TAG. 「P5 / Lynn」
Highschool transfer student, Star, 17 years old.   ‘ You have truly made me wait, I am known for being impatient, ma fille, but I will allow it this time ’ , the brunette fell to knees, holding her head while she screamed in utter pain, tears rolling down her cheeks while her eyes were shut, trying to somehow make the pain bereable. All background noise was blocked, overpowered by a female voice inside her mind. ’ You have always clenched your fists and withdrawn for the fight, doing little to nothing. Finally, you have grown tired; let us form a pact, shall we? ’.     The voice was right, Lynn had enough. Taking blow after blow, being ridiculized, embarrassed and tossed aside — being the stepping stone others needed to feel superior while she put on a show, the happy pierrot that everyone relied onto but whom never spoke a single struggle. It was time for her to realize her own worth and speak her mind, yell to the four winds her heart’s desires; to defend and attack instead of being a mere broken shield.   ’ I am thou, thou art I we cannot tear out a single page of our life, but we can throw the whole book in the fire! They can bind our body and tie our hands but nothing can be done nor can shatter our will! ’, the hands that once had been holding her head were now on the floor underneath her, helping her to push herself up slowly — green hues had turned yellow and filled with such aggresive determination that she had never felt before. Straightening her back, her right hand placed itself before the mask that had manifested to existence, gripping it hard, she pulled away at once — blood running down her eyes.   “ We shall show them what we are made of, come to me Amantine! ”
Eldarya verse TAG. 「Eldarya / Lynn 」
College student, 23 years old. Absynthe Garde / Alchemist.  As a descendant of a human, her father Philip, and a fairy, her mother Lucia, Lynn is a faerie. However, she was never told about the truth and because of her clueless nature, she never suspected anything weird  ( not even when her aunt would show up in particular clothes which she lied that it was part of her job as a dentist not to scare children, including wings on her back as part of the costume ).  Which is precisely how she stepped in the thin line of human world and magic world, the blindfold had been finally removed. Currently stuck in Eldarya and unable to return nor communicate with her parents, Lynn spends her days working to win the meal of the day alongside an elf named Ezarel as an assistant for the potions he needs to create, but mostly errand girl: running here and there to provide everything on time.
Mystic Messenger. / MC1. TAG. 「MysMe / Lynn 」
College student, 23 years old.   Actually, Lynn isn’t sure how she found herself in Korea. Mostly, trying to be a good friend for Hyun and be his emotional support friend when he needed one given his grandfather had gotten terribly ill and chances were… No, no. She shouldn’t focus there. In fact, she should focus on finding the place her friend had indicated that both were staying at — yet, things rarely go as planned. Sometimes, the female felt that she was a magnet to problems. A message, an adress and a distressed person were the formula to lure her towards an unknown appartment in which she ended up locked. Stuck in a position of party hoster of sorts, Lynn Darcy chose not to fight her fate and assume her role. Kim Yoosung, Kang Jaehee, Hyun Ryu, Han Jumin and Choi Luciel needed her, after all. And God knows how big her heart is to leave without providing the needed help.
Shall we date? Destiny Ninja 2 + TAG. 「Destiny Ninja 2 +/ Lynn 」
Living in the Spring Village has been a wonderful experience since she can recall, to wake up everyday and see how flowers would blossom — new ones that would arrive because of the ocasional windy days and carry along new seeds for the view to change, take different shape and colors. Yet that lovely experience started to come to an end when the Yamato Island began to get corrupted. Was the story they told her as kids to make her fear true? All Lynn can do is pray and keep up with her training; she might not be an expert, but basic defense moves could safe her. Besides, her father had always taught her how to use a gun since possessing a sword was more of an honor, a lifestyle.
Shall we date? Blood in roses + TAG. 「Blood in roses / Lynn 」
It was a poor idea for a human to wander into a castle, but after having lost her family, the brunette found no better choice than try to find a temporal refugee. Much to her horror, it turned out to be the rumored Hotel Libra Sincera — unable to return nor escape because she had nowhere to go, she decided to step inside that place.   Truthfully, Lynn never thought she would use a Humphrey’s bottle of False Mist that her mother had bought to her at age nine in case something bad would happen to them. It was easy to forget about it but Lucia has insisted for Lynn to carry it at all times; and now, she could finally use it.
Wizardess heart + TAG. 「Wizardess heart + / Lynn 」
Student &&. buddyless, 17 years old, spellsinger. TBA.
Ephemeral: Residents in the dark. TAG. 「Ephemeral / 010」
Student, 120 years old, half-breed.   A lovechild from a vampire and a human, a horrible sin for all creatures that should have been killed hasn’t been that she was born with the strongest gen as expected, which is the single reason she had managed to survive thus far in the world were ranks meant everything.   However, her mother had been murdered by other humans as soon as it was discovered that there were vampires within their world — Philippe had returned with shame and head hung low back to his family. Forced into a marriage with another woman, a mermaid that grew to terribly hate Lynn going as far as to dig her nails into Lynn’s wrists due being young and beautiful.   To say Lynn was grateful to being accepted into that prestigious institution wasn’t enough, she decided to stay and live there. Refusing to return to a place where her stepmother wanted her head in a spike — yet, her secret keeps her awake at night, what would happen if she was discovered?
ANIMAL.
Main verse.
TAG.
23 years old. WIP.
Aggrestuko verse./ Publishing department. TAG.
Office lady, 24 years old. Lynn Darcy had studied art history, however, she did not find many jobs suitable for that and ended up undergoing trainment to become a ‘desk person'—work in an office and fall into a comfortable routine for another year and a half.

My Let’s Go Eevee review
Its time, it is finally time.
Since this whole controversy was beginning to boil up, I was scratching my head a bit at this entire product. I didn’t think the rumors were true, it just didn’t make sense to me to re-boot the original 151 again, and with mechanics from Pokemon Go. I did my best not to pre-judge, game-freak had never really disappointed me before, so I decided to trust them again with this next game. Before I get into it, let me lay out some personal details.
I am a core-player. I’ve been playing the core series since the original red and blue. I’ve played every gen (though it took me a while to give X and Y a try), and I can honestly say I’ve enjoyed every main series game up until this point. I also play Pokemon go, and I’ve played a few of the spin-offs as well (mystery dungeon, ranger, etc), and for a time I was even breeding pokemon for competitive teams back when EV training was still pretty tedious.
So my verdict on Let’s Go...
VERY GOOD
For real though, what were you expecting? That I’d miss the iconic system of weakening a wild pokemon before catching it? That the game wouldn’t be the same without the random grass encounters? That It just wouldn’t be the game I knew and loved if I couldn’t grind against wild pokemon?
Well guess what, the classic formula... SUCKED. That was never what made the series good, and it didn’t contribute to my enjoyment of the series as it turns out. Battling wilds was usually easy, catching wild Pokemon was only tricky because it was a press-your-luck game, and after you’ve been in it for a while, you usually set up some kind of false-swipe stun-spore catcher mon who takes all of the challenge out of it. You heard it folks, weakening wild pokemon in battle to catch them was pointless and stupid, and that’s my official stance. Let me battle the ones that will actually give me a run for my money, let me battle the ones that could actually KO one or two of my team. Take the strongest or most interesting 5 or 10% of wild pokemon and make me have to weaken just them, and for the rest I’ll gladly take a motion-control mini game for catching.
Pros
Graphics are excellent. I really liked how Sun and Moon looked and this is a further improvement on that formula. Looks good on a TV, looks good in handheld, exactly what I want to see. If they could nail this look again for the next gen I’d be thrilled.
Its fun, and there has never been a cuter pokemon game to play. Like DAMN this game is cute. I loved the Pokemon Ami style mechanics from the last couple of games, and interacting with Eevee or Pikachu is that but cranked way way up. We’ve got following back - and you can interact with them a little while they are following you (super super cute), and we’ve got RIDING too! The cute-factor in this game is just off the chart.
Trainer Battles are challenging enough. This is a point of controversy for some players, and there was a very real fear that the game would be too easy. Because we aren’t battling against wild Pokemon anymore, it feels like they made the trainer battles harder, hard enough that they pose a genuine threat to you unless you either spam your starter, or hang out in a each zone catching lots of Pokemon (grinding). I haven’t cleared the main story yet, so I can’t say for sure that there are battles that match some of the harder totem challenges from SuMo, but its challenging enough that its satisfying and not so hard that I can’t play it casually. Nice lite challenge.
I actually liked everything that they added and changed. I liked the changes to catching, liked trainer battles, liked that co-op was an option (too easy for me, but great for children), liked Pokemon in the overworld, liked the partner Pokemon. You name it, I liked it. Heck, I even liked that breeding was a non-option in this game: no more time wasted just running around for eggs to hatch and whatnot. Turns out, making a good team or a shiny by having your Pokemon dry-hump a ditto for a week is kind of boring. They could take breeding out of every pokemon game from now until the end of time and I’d be fine with that (and before you scream about egg moves and baby pokemon, there are solutions to that and Gamefreak is pretty creative).
Pokeball accessory is really nice! This part caught me off-guard, I had simply assumed that having the joystick also be the A button would doom this controller to be pretty much a gimmick or outfit accessory. It has a nice heft to it, feels right for a pokeball, and works great for the actual catching mini game. It can be a little tricky to navigate (I’ll drift a little trying to hit A now and then), but its enough most of the time. The best features are the unique ones, sound and vibration during play add a lot of joy factor, taking pokemon for a stroll is really nice, and its a big improvement over the Go+ in terms of use with Pokemon Go. You can have Go running in the background, and the pokeball is extremely generous in terms of how fast you can be moving and still catch pokemon. Did I mention it auto-spins stops? (if there is a pokemon strolling)
Cons
Few new species. This is really the only gripe I could point to. The main reason I get excited about pokemon titles are the new species, I love seeing new abilities and type combinations, new moves, its an opportunity to express myself in a new way during my play-through. For that reason I tend to enjoy games that re-visit a region a bit less than a proper new gen. I fully expected this to be a bit of an issue, and the re-balances we got weren’t enough for this to feel very new to me. Not making Missingno a catch-able ultra-beast in this game was also a serious missed opportunity. People that didn’t experience the original games should not have this problem. Some would consider this a pro, but for me its a con.
I’ve heard all these songs before. They sound great fully orchestrated, but I’ve heard those tunes so many times that it really bothered me to stay in any one zone for very long. This essentially the same complaint as the one above, in that because its a re-visit its the same content again, and for that reason I enjoy it a little less. And sure it would be bizarre if they had new tunes instead of the old ones, but a bit samey.  People that didn’t experience the original games should not have this problem. Some would consider this a pro, but for me its a con.
No real competition infrastructure. Again, I expected this to be an issue, but there isn’t really any way to play this in a match-making style competitive environment right now. With the lack of actually viable pokemon in the game, and with how off-the-rails the starters are, and with the way the candy system works it would actually be pretty challenging to create a satisfying competitive environment anyways. This is something that could be adjusted in a DLC if they really felt like it, but with the next gen on the horizon I wouldn’t count on it.
Conclusion
Yall are a bunch of whiny babies that freaked out over nothing. Gamefreak isn’t contractually obligated to give you exactly what you personally want every time they make a game, and if you gave them the benefit of the doubt, you might actually have a little bit of fun. It may even make you re-think what you thought you wanted out of a Pokemon game.

Pacific Rim Recs - *Updated*
Hahahah, look at me reccing fanfics when I should be studying for the GRE. This is my life now... So, have one of my favorite platonic otps!
Organized by pairing (or gen) and then alphabetized by title. Summaries (which have been copied from their respective stories) and descriptions are provided. Notation at the end of the description indicates if a story is completed or a WIP.
Gen
Take Up Your Spade and Break Ground - Tendo Choi is a 911 dispatcher because it pays well and because he’s damn good at it. He doesn’t take the job with the expectation of finding a family – but sometimes the people who call end up up meaning a hell of a lot, and Tendo’s never been one to stay detached. Friendship/Family. Tendo POV, very well written and the plot is original. A great AU overall. I really loved following Tendo and his relationships to the Shatterdome people through his work at 911. One-shot.
Hermann, Newton Friendship
All the Colors of the Rainbow - The first thing Newt noticed about Hermann was that he was a neat freak. Well. Okay. Maybe not a neat freak. Maybe just an ordinarily-neat person who didn’t like kaiju guts in his work space. Sharing a lab was going to be a challenge … Drama. Am I reccing this because Newt is autistic? Yes, yes I am. Also, these drabbles do wonders at showing the day-to-day struggles of Newton and Hermann sharing a lab. One-shot.
Hush Now - Hermann is upset and Newt tries to cheer him up. It either goes horribly wrong or horribly right- he’s not sure. Hurt/Comfort. Hermann gets an unfortunate phone call from his father and Newt is there to pick up the pieces. Drabble length, but still sweet. One-shot.
Not Unwelcome - Set directly after the events of the movie. Hermann leaves the celebrations to give himself some space, away from the loud people clapping him on the back, away from the happily drunken crowd, and, maybe, a bit of space away from Newt. Naturally, the moment he disappears, Newt goes after him. Minor angst ensues. Friendship/Angst. Cute, fluffly, indulgent, everything you want out of a feel-good story. An enjoyable read. One-shot.
Tröstung - When Hermann is three years old, his mother gives him a stuffed lamb. Angst/Friendship. Following Hermann through the years in his interactions with his  comfort object (an adorable sheep names Oskar). The premise and structure of the story really does a nice job at providing snapshots in Hermann’s life and development as he grows into the brilliant scientist he is. The story also provides a brief insight into Hermann and Newt’s relationship. One-shot.
Hermann/Newton
A Hand That Hold No Weapon - On their way back to the Hong Kong Shatterdome, Newton helps Gottlieb adjust to the after effects of drifting together. Drama/Hurt/Comfort. A much needed story after Hermann and Newton drift. Fun story, okay writing. One-shot.
A Little Bit of Solidarity Goes A Long Way - If the Kaiju were planning on depriving the two of them of sleep for long enough to kill them, well, they were certainly off to a good start. Hurt/Comfort/Romance. Cute, nerdy, realistic. An overall good read. One-shot. Story is deleted!
A Warm and Gentle Tug -  Hermann has a fear of having his blood drawn due to the fact that he always passes out or gets sick while it happens. This time around however, Hermann takes Newt along with him to his appointment to help ease him. Hurt/Comfort. Not the best writing here, but the relationship is fun. Mainly reccing because I have the exact same problem getting my blood drawn. One-shot.
Battered and Bruised - When Hermann comes to Newt’s defense, it doesn’t end well. Hurt/Comfort. Short and somewhat sweet. Newton and Hermann try to fix each other up after getting into a fight at a bar. One-shot.
Collision - A kiss gone wrong. Romance/Humor. Hermann and Newton being dorky and clumsy. Cute, but short, story. One-shot.
Dehydration Sensation - Hermann doesn’t handle heat well. Hurt/Comfort. Hermann doesn’t take care of himself in the middle of a heat wave and Newt once again has to pick up the pieces. Including obstinate, delirious, and dissaproving Hermann alongside exasperated Newton! One-shot.
Homeostasis - The K-science laboratory stands on its own plane of existence; life within its concrete walls runs in parallel to life in the bigger world of the Hong Kong Shatterdome. Yet even here the laws of physics apply. Whenever Hermann’s body isn’t failing him, Newton’s mind is on the verge of breaking. Hurt/Comfort. The scientists have a rough day in the lab. I really enjoyed the contrast of the mental and physical given that each Hermann and Newt suffer from their own handicaps. Seeing the ailments as both a foil and a complement to each other was a very compelling look into their relationship. One-shot.
Incessant - Hermann’s physical limitations frustrate him to tears. Angst. Newton tries to help Hermann after a fall, Hermann is frustrated that his body won’t cooperate with anything. Poor Newt has to make this situation at least bearable for both of them. The selling points for this story is mostly domestic science boyfriends and an accurate depiction of the frustrations that come with being disabled/handicapped. One-shot.
Keep Your Mouth Shut, Keep Your Guard Up -  Hercules Hansen does not understand why Hermann won’t just tell him why he got in a fight with the new J-Tech. It’s obvious who came out worse for wear. Hurt/Comfort/Romance. Hermann just wants to protect Newton, they just keep getting into trouble. So wonderfully in character. I love these two. One-shot.
Laundry Day - “I must have almost popped the question a hundred times, but the timing never seemed…right, you know?” “And you decided nearly killing me in the middle of laundromat was the Platonic ideal of romance, did you?” Aka the one where Hermann launders Newt’s jacket and finds rather more than he bargained for. Hermann/Newt. Romance/Humor. This story is just so cute. I love how the everyday interaction between Newt and Hermann turns into such a touching/adorable moment. One-shot.
Mend and Make Safe -  Hermann and Newton find themselves sitting together outside of the medical bay together after the clock has been stopped and share a few moments saying very little, but somehow managing to say quite a bit at the same time. Oneshot, and mostly from Hermann’s POV. Friendship/Romance.Hermann and Newton always had something that defied definition. Their relationship in this story is neither here nor there except for the undeniable closeness they share. One-shot. Story is deleted!
Pride - Newmann oneshot. Newt takes Hermann on a date to his first LGBT parade- fluff through and through, except for a little reference to acephobia. Romance/Friendship. Am I reccing this entirely because Hermann is asexual? Yes, yes I am. Also features cute relationships, Newton coming up with a bunch of “queer” orientated pet names for Hermann, and some good points about sexuality. One-shot.
Roughed Up - The two scientists go out for drinks, and things go from bad to worse. Hurt/Comfort. Hermann tries to protect Newton, Newton has to patch him up. The writing isn’t the best and the plot is unoriginal, but it’s still a fun read. One-shot.
Taken Care Of - Newt helps out Hermann when he’s having a bad day. Hurt/Comfort. A short and fluffy slice of life story that follows the companionship of Newt and Hermann through a rough day. One-shot.
The Ghost and Dr. Priestly - Newt is pulling an all-nighter in the university library studying for a chemistry test, when he begins to hear strange sounds. Good news: it’s not a ghost. Bad news: he only finds out after giving his lab partner, Hermann, a mild concussion. Drama/Romance/Hurt/Comfort. Newt is an unbelievable idiot and poor Hermann suffers the consequences. Or, Hermann is concussed and is probably not thinking properly, but he still kisses Newt even after the daft man nearly brained him with a book. One-shot.
Tricks and Treats - Seven fics for the seven days of Gottbleed week (Oct. 5th-11 2015). Each story: 1. Is Gottbleed 2. Fulfills an OTP prompt from tumblr 3. Is newmann and 4. Is Halloween related. Trick or treating, costumes, haunted houses, ghosts, too much candy - and much more! Humor/Drama. Cute, funny, with a side of seriousness. Hermann and Newton make such a fun couple and these somewhat Halloween themed shorts perfectly show off their characters. Complete.
You and Your Dog Teeth - Desperate to find ends and solutions, Hermann wears himself out to exhaustion looking for answers, especially his already lame leg. Being around as his usual working late night companion, it’s up to Newt to help take Dr. Gottlieb home. What seemed entirely like a normal night only ends with two scientists realizing there’s a lot more between them than they thought. Angst/Humor. Such a fun story, this has a good balance between emotional tension and moments of hilarity that only the K-science boys can fully pull off. The awkward approach to romance in this story works very well for the characters and give an authentic feel to the whole thing. Two-shot, complete.
You Know I Love You: I Wrote It Down - Drs. Geiszler and Gottlieb’s relationship goes back almost ten years. We know this because the paper trail goes that far back, too. Romance. Where do I begin with this story? It’s so well done and amazingly written. I can’t get enough of it. The idea to follow the relationship of Hermann and Newton through their paper trail was brilliant and well executed. The sheer nerdy romance is amazing. I don’t even care if it has smut in it, it’s still well worth the read. One-shot.

THE FIRST LADY
By: Miguel Figueroa
Forget everything you know. Jackie O who? Come again, I beg your pardon, but I don’t know who this Carla Bruni-Sarkozy is. Michelle Obama is so early 2009 and frankly, my dear I don’t give an Iberic Ham about Sonsoles Espinosa. Forget about the Pill Box Hats, the supermodels-cum-wife of the President, the Mugler ensembles worn by the new Mrs. O and First Wife’s who choose to live a life of secrecy. To us at Candy, our First Lady is Ms. Christine Jorgensen, the first female transsexual from the United States. Christine did it all…Original Socialite, Pop Singer, Cabaret Performer, Photographer and Filmmaker who became an instant sensation when she got the good ol’ U. S. of A. all shook up after her Botticellean transformation from a woman trapped in a man’s body into a lady with impeccable taste, a sharp tongue and a groundbreaking fresh as a lettuce attitude whom was able to turn notoriety into such a cult icon status that not even Chantal Biya can come close to her. Honey, she even played Dior to Judy!
Christine Jorgensen’s came into the world on May 30th 1926 at the Community Hospital in Manhattan when George Jorgesen Jr., son of George Jorgensen and Florence Davis Hansen, brother of Dorothy Florence Jorgensen was conceived. Mrs. Jorgensen raised her tight knit children in the booming pre-Depression era of the 1920’s on Dudley Avenue in the Bronx. Even though George Jr. and Dorothy were inseparable and her paternal grandmother, whom George enjoyed picking violets for, played a key element of her upbringing, Christine does not blame her female surroundings with the fact that she was a woman trapped in a man’s body. At age four he made it clear that something was suspicious when he asked her mother, “Mom, why didn’t God makes us alike?”, about the physical differences between him and his sister his mother replied, “You see Brud [Christine’s nickname], it’s one of God’s surprises.” George Jr. just said, “Well, I don’t like the kind of surprise God made me!”
Growing up, Christine admits that in order to follow the normal pattern of development she needed help, not ridicule. Fortunately, her personal world embraced little Brud, his shyness and awkward stances towards boys of his age. His grandmother never pushed him to be a man and when a teacher discovered that George kept hidden on his school desk one of his grandmother’s needlepoint’s which he treasured, and called his mother to ridicule him in front of the class, he received nothing but love and support. His sister, as a college student, used him as a college subject experiment on the influence women have over Children, in this case boys, while growing up and their feminization. Although there were some pebbles on the way that were easily passed by, growing up as a child all the way to his teens non-fiction fairy tales always surrounded Christine’s life. Her paternal grandfather came from Odense, Denmark birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen, meanwhile his maternal grandfather, John Kreogh Hansen was a painter who’s greatest assignment was assisting the French painter Paul César Helleu in the creation of Grand Central Station’s original ceiling. Also, according to Jorgensen’s autobiography, her Father, in his teens, was obsessed with the birth of radio communication and heard the “Titanic” distress signal on 1912 in his transistor radio, while she was witness of the Hindenburg passing a top of her house moments before meeting its fate.
At the age of 16 George Jr. lands his first job as a librarian. A string of odd jobs as news editor for RKO Pathé News, a driver and even a supermarket clerk followed, moving along New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Minneapolis. After finishing High School, he enrolls in New York’s Institute of Photography, a passion that was bestowed upon him by his father, a photo aficionado, hoping that in the future he could lead the life of a glamorous photographer, immortalizing the likes of Greta Garbo, Barbara Stanwyck and Bette Davis. After finishing photography school and in between odd jobs, George Jr. in his search to belong somewhere and to make his parents proud joined the Armed Forces in 1945, at age 19, landing a clerical job in Fort Dix, New Jersey. Due to his thin, and delicate 98-pound (about 45 kilos) frame, after 14 months, he was discharged.
During his brief stay in Los Angeles, George begins to discuss his anatomical conundrums, confiding in two girl friends that something is different about him. He “comes out” admitting that he has the body of an underdeveloped male yet his emotions are female. His friends, dumbfounded by this news, support George but tell him to seek medical attention. Upon his return to the East Coast he enrolls in the Progressive School of Photography in New Haven, Connecticut to continue his photographic preparation and begins to research on Endocrinology by reading news that a Doctor in that city was experimenting with hormones turning chickens into roosters. George figures that he’s got nothing (and never had anything) to lose and pays him a visit. After telling Dr. Harold Grayson his “problem”, the visit halts to a complete screeching stop. Dr. Grayson sends George to visit Dr. Reznick, a psychiatrist who recommends an evasive treatment to drive inclinations. Let’s not forget that at this time in the late 40’s we still had a long, long way to go before today’s sexual panacea and lobotomies were as common as Botox nowadays.
These two encounters didn’t deter George’s search to find a solution to whom he really was. He continued looking for answers and on one of his numerous visits to the library stumbled upon Paul de Kruif’s book The Male Hormone that served as opened floodgates to his research. This groundbreaking book established that both males and females indeed have genetic traits from each other’s sex. The investigation continued and led him to medical journals from France and Germany that analyzed cases of hermaphrodism, pseudo-hermpahrodism and other “sexual abnormalities”. After he finished photography school his determination led him to continue his studies, not in Visual Arts, but in the field of Medicine. George Jorgensen Jr. was a man on a mission and thus, on 1949 he enrolled at the Manhattan Medical and Dental Assistant’s School where he learned X-ray and laboratory technician courses letting him know how the body and its internal chemical contents worked. All the while, he continued reading and re-reading de Kruif’s book where he discovered that the author of the book talked about the female hormone estradiol, a prominent sex hormone present in females and in very small percentages amongst males, which was available in hormone supplement for women. George decided he needed to get his hand on this medicine so the next day he drove to a pharmacy, ordered the usual medication and 100 tablets of high-potency Ethinyl estradiol. Unbeknown to the situation and after George said he was a medical student who needed the medicine to run some tests, the pharmacist simply handed him exactly what George wanted. He went to his car, opened the bottle, ignored the warning label that stated NOT TO BE TAKEN WITHOUT THE ADVICE OF A DOCTOR and washed down a single pill with water. On the next day, he felt nothing, yet continued taking a single pill each night. On the eight day, he woke up feeling sensitivity and development around his breasts, also, his usual fatigue and languidness was gone. It may have taken God six days to create Eve, but it took George and additional 48 hours to start becoming Christine Jorgensen.
After realizing that the pills would do up to so much, Christine relied on a good friend he met in medical school by the name of Genevive Angelo whose husband was a doctor. Gen, as Christine calls her, was aware of George’s differences and put him in contact with her husband immediately who after a consultation discussed with him sexual transformations done by doctors overseas, which started in the 1930’s. What sets Christine’s case apart prior to hers is that homosexuality or hermaphrodism was involved. Christine was neither nor the other. During her life as a man, she had been propositioned twice for gay sex and the situations abominated her to the point in which in one occasion she vomited. Christine Jorgensen was a heterosexual woman born in a man’s body and she needed to go to Europe to work on herself. After exchanging correspondence with Dr. Grayson and confirming this information from him as well, the decision was clear. George Jorgensen saved up a couple hundred of dollars, told his family that he was going to reconnect with his European family and on May 11th, 1950 arrived in Denmark on a one-way ticket to his new life.
Christine settled in with Helen, her friend and confidant from Los Angeles, and her family a few weeks later, she’d check in the at the Seruminstitut where she would meet her future doctor and friend Dr. Christian Hamburger whom was recommended to her by Helen’s doctors. Once the consultation had ended, Dr. Hamburger offered Christine the chance of a lifetime. If she would acknowledge becoming a guinea pig for hormone research, the operation would be free of charge. On a letter to Dr. Joe and Gen back home she told them “Just refer to me as guinea pig 0000!” The George Jorgensen to Christine Jorgensen transformation had now officially begun.
Tests begun in August and George started carrying around on a daily basis what he jokingly called a yor mor taske , Dutch for “midwife’s bag”, containing daily urine samples to test her hormone levels. Christine’s medical dream team would be rounded up with Dr. Georg Stürup who would deal with the psychological aspect of the transformation. Right before she was set to go under the knife, the Danish Government tried to stop the initial operation due to the fact that Mr. Jorgersen was not a Danish citizen. After Dr. Stürup advocated to Justice Minisitry and Denmark’s Attorney General, Helga Pedersen, a women’s right activist, the veto was revoked and the operation continued it’s steer course. After paying a $30 fee, on September 24th, 1951 the first of three operations, the removal of George’s testicles, was conducted. Days prior his 26th birthday, George visited the American Embassy to change the name on his passport and in honor of Dr. Christian Hamburger, on May 1952 Christine Jorgensen, 5’7”, 120 pounds was born. For her first ensemble as a woman she chose an elegant green skirt, pale brown jacket and brown suede shoes and headed to the Beauty Parlor. She continued her work as amateur photographer and filmmaker documenting Denmark and on June of that year broke the news to her parents in a heartfelt letter, which included photos taken of her transformation “You have lost a son, but gained somebody new.” As soon as they received the letter they replied immediately via cablegram: LETTER AND PICTURES RECEIVED. WE LOVE YOU MORE THAN EVER, MOM AND DAD.  Her mother and sister could not hold on to their excitement and indulged on reckless shopping sprees for their new daughter and sister.
Her second operation, the removal of any remaining “maleness”, performed by Dr. Paul Fogh-Andersen and Erlig Dahl-Iversen occurred in November 20th, 1952, 13 months after the initial operation. Even though she was operated in a public hospital that lacked private bedrooms, accommodations were made for Christine to have a suite all to her own. While recuperating, news of her transformation reached US Shores. Her father wrongfully confided in one of his friend who sold the news to the New York Daily News for $200 and on December 7th, 1952 the newspaper’s headline read BRONX GI BECOMES A WOMAN. DEAR MOM AND DAD SON WROTE, I HAVE NOW BECOME YOUR DAUGHTER. A cablegram was hand delivered by a journalist from the Information, a Danish newspaper, looking for a quick interview. Obviously, her plan backfired. Christine could feel nothing but remorse, resentment and rage. At the same moment, another cablegram is sent to Ms. Jorgensen. This time it was her mother, to tell her that her beloved Aunt Edie has passed away. Years later, in her audio memoirs, Christine Jorgensen Reveals, she tells us that her psychiatrist feared that this moment would’ve been her breaking point. She was aware of what she had become and as any serious and smart woman under pressure; she kept her posture absolutely calm.
Up to this point Christine lived a frugal life in Denmark. Besides her life savings, her mother sent her $10 a week as well as film equipment for the documentary she was making about Denmark which would end up becoming the first color film about the country. The penny picking was soon about to change. Immediately after the news arrived, offers started pouring in via telegram (for you kids out there…it was our grandparents alternative to e-mail). Everybody wanted Christine – Warner Brothers in Hollywood, The Copa Club in Pittsburgh, The 46th Street Theatre and The New York Press Photographers at the Big Apple. Offers even came from New Orleans Strip Club performances at $500 a night. Dr. Hamburger also received a deluge of requests from around the world for sex change operations. Journalists, who camped out the Jorgensen’s residence, blackmailed her parents, who would finally reunite with Christine on Christmas 1952 at Denmark, if they did not cooperate with them. Christine caused sexual revolution that such journalistic raucous not been seen until Betty Ford’s family intervention or Monica’s little blue Gap dress.
Christine Jorgensen would not stay mum for much longer. She accepted to publish her tell-all story on six installments in American Weekly magazine for a cool $20,000 dollars. The feature would coincide with Christine’s arrival on New York’s JFK Airport then known as Idlewild Airport on February 13th, 1953. Her departure from Denmark was cause of a grand celebration amongst friends, so big that she almost missed her flight. Reporters documented every bit of her life, including her choice of travel luggage. One journalist mentioned that one of her cases that contained almost 3 and half years of her life in Denmark was a box of petal soft toilet tissue to which Christine said in her autobiography, “I’ve always traveled in a grand manner.” On a press junket with international members of the press, a British Journalists asked her if she was worried about her reception in the U.S. hence all the media frenzy; her response “Why should I be?” Once she boarded the plane, and a few hours prior her arrival, it hit her: the anonymous life she’d wanted as a woman would not happen. “In my long, painful search for a normal life, I had created a paradox: a life that was to be, for me, abnormal and unconventional.” She was now on the road, or shall we say up in the air, to become a bona fide household name.
When the Scandinavian Airlines flight landed she was received by total and utter pandemonium that wouldn’t be matched until 10 years later when 4 Britons stepped off a Pan Am flight arriving from the United Kingdom. Reporters were everywhere, flashes were ablazin’, everybody wanted a piece of Christine. She felt she had stepped of into a scene from Dante’s Inferno and panicked; she thought “Pull yourself together. This, as everything else, must pass”. Countess Alexandra of Rosenberg, who was on the flight with her, a relative of the King of Denmark was subdued to mere coach status. Christine tittered and tattered through the chaos, holding on to her books, purse and train case while keeping her outfit, including her mink coat, hat with diamante broach, and gloves intact. Once inside, she gave an instant press conference; as everyone wanted a reaction she simply replied to all "I am very happy to be back and I don't have any plans at the moment and I thank you all for coming but I think it's too much."
Her arrival was skyrocketing. The American Weekly story was translated into 14 languages and published in 70 countries. With the money she earned she was able to build her parents their dream house where she settled in with them. Christine received over 20,000 letters from around the globe, some even postmarked “Christine Jorgensen, United States”. Of all the fan mail, only a handful was derogatory, while the rest of tens of thousands were congratulatory notes to her and her parents. Even when she went to renew her drivers license, she was followed everywhere by the paparazzi. The press continued for weeks to have her as a Cover Girl. The In-Crowd lauded Christine’s presence; Ladies Luncheons with original Perez Hilton, Elsa Maxwell, Elaine Carrington and Margaret Case, Vogue Magazine’s Society Editor with special appearance by an impressed Cole Porter and a one to one with Truman Capote. On March 7th, in front of 5,000 guests, including Mr. and Mrs. Jorgensen, the Scandinavian Societies of Greater New York named her Woman of the Year. She reluctantly hired an agent, Charlie Yates, who would handle all the Jorgensenmania for two years until his sudden death in 1955. Her original ambiguity towards a life of sing, dance and pizzazz came because all she really wanted to be was a photographer. Years later, on a TV interview she’d  set the records straight on her fame, “Making a living of life is cashing in on it. Then I did, and I suppose I don’t regret it”.
On her first visit to LA, she was bashed by the Californian city, because they believed (and oh, how they have changed) that you couldn’t simply sell an act by its name. After this incident, Christine travels back to England to film the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth. Back in the states, on August 9th, at the Copa Club in Pittsburgh she, alongside her performance partner Myles Bell, gives her first song and dance act. She receives an invitation from Dr. Alfred Kinsey to be interviewed at the Institute for Sex Research at Indiana University. She’s banned from performing for the Army and in Boston, the Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas refused to let her perform until she could present proof that she was a woman, yet, after her shows at the Copa, the offers started pouring in and they were officially in business. Critics were courteous with her saying that “She sings like an off-key Garbo” and “Nobody expected anything and all they got was Gravy.” Christine became a fashion icon, she was a vivacious woman draped in the latest 50's fashions: ball gowns with mink stoles, silk cocktail dresses, full skirts, swing skirts, tea dresses, tiaras, kimonos, her hair, coiffed in a permanent wave, apron styled swimsuits, and lets not forget...hats, gloves and estate jewlery to match. Lest not forget: red lips. She even sparked her first impersonator and instead of suing her, she settled for a gentlewoman’s apology and when in Miami, a deranged woman tried to pull her hair off, thinking it was a wig, she simply walked away and had people take care of it. She traveled to perform in Philadelphia, Washington DC, Cuba, Miami, New York and Dallas. She had a pop hit in Cuba called “Christine of Denmark” and finally, the owners and showgirls of the Sahara Hotel had to shut their trap, issuing an apology, when they saw that Christine Jorgensen was a gold mine.
Did I mention that all of this happened in 1953?
Christine took a small break in the early summer of 1954 for her third and final operation, a vaginoplasy performed in a small hospital in New Jersey. Christine now had the body of a woman who’d have a hysterectomy and was at peace with the fact that she could not bear children. She was as complete a person as she’d dream of being emotionally and physically. After she was ready to get back on track, she went off to Sweden where her fans waited for her anxiously and with such candor that she ended up staying an extra 3 weeks for an unscheduled cabaret show. Her fame instigated the rumor mil full speed on, bogus affairs with Vanderbilt and Woolworth heirs. Had she lived today these dangerous liaisons would’ve been with a Casiraghi or an heir to PPR. Muy CANDY Caliente!
Just as Christine was to act in her first role as an actress on the play “To Dorothy, A Son”, Charlie Yates died playing golf with Bob Hope in Palm Springs on January 9th, 1955. Christine was devastated, she thought of not continuing with the play but solid as a rock, she continued and delivered a great performance. It was a year of big changes. Her manager died, she gained a new show partner, Mr. Lee Wyler, after breaking up her career with Myles Bell and during a trip to Venezuela she faced heavy interrogation by the Police in order to enter the country. She was even accused of being a Communist for making a quote on quote “non-American” comment at the time of her return from Denmark. All the while, she perfected her impersonations of Tallulah Bankhead and Marlene Dietrich, whom she would to homage all the way into her death. Christine also found herself amongst the religious ones. She was invited to appear in Jewish and Masonic centers, leaving the latter aghast when she told them that as a young George Jr. she was a member of the Demolay International, a Massonic group for teenage MEN whose hall of fame included Walt Disney and Bill Clinton.
The last years of the 50’s saw her shuffling through agents and having troubles with the IRS. She was $30,000 in debt with her taxes and agreed to record the LP, Christine Jorgensen Reveals, thinking it would be a success, yet it flopped in sales. Looking back on it and listening to it more than 50 years it was recorded, the album is a masterpiece. Christine battled out aggravating questions about her sexuality, being a woman and banal questions on body hair, dating, cruising and the army. She came out a winner while she KO’d telling him that if she had not changed, she wouldn’t have adapted, but rather receded into the world and when she was lauded for making Denmark a household name she told Mr. Russell;  “Denmark did not need me to be famous. It had blue cheese before me.”
The subject of love was always one of a delicate manner. Cupid and Christine weren’t exactly BFF’s. As George, she had a handful of platonic lovers that never consummated beyond wishful thinking. Then on 1959 her friend Howard Knox proposes marriage. Christine says yes. Once they got to City Hall with all the necessary papers, the lawyers found a legal loophole. Christine’s birth certificate still had male as the specified gender. Even though her Passport, Drivers License and NYPD Cabaret Card enlisted her as female, the fact that she never changed her sex in her birth certificate vetoed any possibilities of marriage. She was even recognized as a female by the World Health Organization; yet, down at City Hall they simply did not budge an inch to help. Christine and Howard took to the media, seeking their support, yet, it dug them a deeper grave with Howard losing his job as a labor-union worker. Eventually, they would break up. She had a 2nd engagement years later that also faded into thin air. “I was never in love with the men I was engaged to and I was never engaged to the men I was in love with.” She was as stern when it came to her love-induced-independence as much as she wanted to become a photographer. In the 1984 documentary Paradise Not for Sale, 58 year-old Christine states: "Loving is wonderful, but falling in love is very stupid. I don't think I'd like to marry. I'm free. I do exactly what I want. I live in a manner to which I prefer. I've had men in my life, but I've never let a man move into my house. I'm very selfish; I don't have to bargain with anybody to do what I want. I play hard, I drink hard, I smoke hard and I do everything to a point of excess." For Ms. Belanger, organizer of christinejorgensen.org, Christine’s resentment towards real relationship was due to her surgery setbacks, performed at a time when sex changes were at a premature stage. She says; “if she had been able to have had the quality of MTF surgery that is offered today, her life would not have been so guarded. She's very much a heterosexual woman, but not really being able to fully experience that was a disappointment."
Ending the decade with a bang, Christine gave Los Angeles a second try and they welcomed her with open arms. She settled into a bungalow at the notorious Chateau Marmont, moving door to door with Eroll Flynn’s recent widow (as fresh as the day prior to her arrival!) and soon became good friends. All the biggest stars wanted to rub elbows with Christine, Natalie Wood, Esther Williams, Robert Wagner, Betty Garble, Ann Miller and Judy Garland just to name a humble few. The night she met Judy she was advised not to talk about Ms. Garland’s weight problems, telling her people “What do you think I’m going to say? ‘Hello, Fat Lady?!’” Tensions disappeared once they met; Judy asked Christine for fashion advise after admiring Christine’s look, she told her that women of her frame should not wear such tight-fitting clothes rather a black velvet toreador pant, a stiff, stand-out jacket with a mandarin collar encrusted with jewels, and adding the comfort of flat shoes. “That means no girdles!” Judy said. Needless to say, a couple of weeks later, Christine felt like a modern day Formichetti when she saw Ms. Garland wearing exactly what she had told her!
In the early sixties she took her show on the road to Australia, Honolulu, Hong Kong and Manila deciding then to settle on the West Coast as her new base. She was lauded for her work on the other side of the Pacific; the Philippines proclaimed her as “the best Goodwill Ambassador America has sent us in years!” Although living a life of money, fame, success and glamour Christine was flat out broke. On her final trip to Manila she returned home with only $5 to her name. The rest of the decade she’d live a frugal life back in New York, settling in for the Theatre and shows here and there, as Cabaret acts were becoming a distant and dated memory. In 1963 her father would pass away, 5 years later so would her mother after a long battle with Cancer. In 1967 her tell-all autobiography, Christine Jorgensen A Personal Autobiography, would sell 500,000 copies on its first hardcover edition. After the death of her mother she moved permanently to California, becoming an advisor on the movie, the Christine Jorgensen Story, released in 1970. The movie is beyond bogus camp. Christine is loosely portrayed, including absurd and untrue stories like that of a cross-dressing George Jr. and visits to prostitutes while in the Service. On set she met an actress you may have heard of called Mae West who was working in the next lot starring in Myra Breckinridge becoming good friends, she also befriended 1962 Playboy Playmate June Wilkinson who thought when they met that Christine prettier than her! The rest of the decade she became a fixture in universities across the country giving lectures on transgender issues.
Christine attempted a comeback in the 80’s with a cabaret act entitled “I enjoy Being a Girl!” after Flower Drum Song’s signature song. She strutted and trotted around comedy clubs in over the top costumes and headpieces, belting out show tunes like “Falling in Love Again”, “Welcome to My World” and her act’s title. This new Christine had no qualms about anything; she voiced her comedic resentment towards Hollywood “they took everything” and “this Raquel Welch woman” who apparently was not in Ms. Jorgensen’s best graces. She also talked about working on a new autobiography, and I quote “suggested title ‘After the Ball’”. If you’ve turned into a bona fide Christine Jorgensen fan (which you should be if you’ve come this far) I recommend downloading this recording, available in Itunes. In 1984 Christine returned to Denmark to work on the documentary Paradise Not For Sale, reuniting Christine with her beloved Dr. Hamburger and Dr.Stürup, hoping it would be picked up by Northamerican Cable Television, two clips from this very hard to find documentary can be found in Youtube. Upon her return from Denmark she took nude photos and shopped them to Playboy. Hugh Hefner declined the offer, yet Christine was unstoppable. Or so she thought; three years later she was diagnosed with bladder and lung cancer. During her chemotherapy sessions she didn’t change her lifestyle continuing to smoke and drink her vodka rocks. On May 3rd 1989 she died. For this article, I got in touch with Ms. Brenda Lane Smith, Christine’s flat-mate for the last six months of her life. When I requested a statement she declined to comment on Ms. Jorgenen.
Christine’s legacy lives on to this day. If it weren’t for her courage and strength to become adversity and be happy for whom she really was, all while wearing mink, the transgender community would not have its First Lady. For Ms. Belanger, "Christine was a real pioneer for what she needed to do. She had no support group or peers for information. She was able to find a needle in a haystack in her trip to Denmark and the world for so many is better for it." Christine kicked ignorance by the balls and she says she gave the sexual revolution “a good quick swift in the pants”. Her living family remembers her dearly, her nieces and cousins remember fondly playing dress-up at Auntie Chris’. Now who wouldn’t want to go home to their aunt and get to wear fabulous heels, jewelry and fur coats? I would most certainly do. Christine said that there were three things she would have until the day she died: laughter and hope and a good sock in the eye. For her funeral, she didn’t want a somber remembrance, she had carefully organized a party for all her friends to laugh and remember her. When it was time for the toast, they all lifted their vodka on the rocks for Christine. Even at home, every day was a holiday; she kept a Christmas tree year round to remind herself of her good life. Naruto time travel fic recs
~ My notes       * Multichapter
Just the Usual Habits
Sakumo has no idea where all of these habits of Kakashi's are coming from. In which five-year-old Kakashi forgets the existence of his left eye, loses his ability to lie believably, and is a little too knowledgeable about the Birds and Bees. Still, no matter what oddities went on in Kakashi's head, one thing is certain – the boy will always love his father, through thick and thin.
Rebirth
Kakashi dies. He wakes up to a second chance.
shut up & dance
sakura just wants to eat in peace, unfortunately the founders won't let her.
Hardest of hearts *
Orochimaru gets one more chance. Just maybe, it will be enough to save him—and the entire world as well.
Do Over
Naruto and Kurama accidentally end up in the past, on the day of Naruto's birth, and are forced to live their lives all over again. They make the best of it, to everyone else's extreme confusion. (Alive Minato and Kushina, humor.)
It's For A Good Cause, I Swear!
After receiving a time travel jutsu as payment for a mission, the original four members of Team 7 each get a chance to go back to one event in their life and change it. Surely they will use such an awesome power responsibly...right? Don't count on it.
~ Crack, utterly perfect crack.
ghosts in her heart
She had no idea what compelled her to do it, but she poked his forehead with her index and middle fingers.
"Do not be foolish, otouto."
(Sakura is the reincarnation of a future that she cannot let happen.)
let life lightly dance on the edges of time
Time-travel fics written as a birthday present for their twin brother.
The life and times of Hatake Kakashi, the long-suffering jōnin-sensei
Kakashi is being trolled. He doesn’t know how that can be, but he knows with utmost certainty that he’s being trolled somehow.
OR
Kakashi gets saddled with the cheekiest little brats ever and wonders if it's too late to become a missing nin.
It's a Mad, Mad World
Kakashi was a weary ninja who'd had this dream (nightmare) too many times before. And until the pain of the kunai stabbed in his arm kicked in, he'd never even considered the possibility it was real this time. Time-travel? One-shot.
How To Raise Your Ninja Child
Kakashi is six years old again, sent to the past. After his father dies, Minato acts as his caretaker, and chaos ensues: well-meaning chaos, but poor Minato doesn't know what to do.
How To Save The World With No One Even Realizing *
Minato knows at the beginning of the week that it's going to be a hellish one. Mostly because it starts with the kidnapping of one of his two remaining students, only a year after they'd lost the first one. He just doesn't realize at the time that it's not going to be a hellish week - it's going to be hell for quite a bit longer than that.
It all starts with Rin's kidnapping, and her subsequent rescue at the hands of a mysteriously appearing, monstrously strong, murderously violent woman.
A woman with cotton candy pink hair.
It only devolves from there.
hands like houses *
Sakura finds herself trapped in the past and discovers a new family along the way, however unwilling she may be.
How Long is Forever?  WIP
Time Travel AU. Sakura has come back to do good deeds and fix some shit. Not posted in chronological order.
Tempest  WIP
Back in time and armed with years of future knowledge, Sakura is ready to take the world by storm. Except... she's four again, not twelve. Ah well, nobody said she couldn't start a little early. Gen, time travel, AU, Sakuracentric.
Jagged Pieces  WIP
On his way back from a mission, Minato gets ambushed and suffers injuries before being rescued by a mysterious blond. Meanwhile, Naruto gets blasted into the past and tries to save the day (and subsequently, the world), not understanding why Minato seems so taken with her.
(Or in which a pregnant Naruto is a victim of time travel, and Minato just wanna be her baby's daddy.)
now, for the second act  WIP
After his death at Pein's hands, Kakashi finally makes his peace with his father. But when he opens his eyes, it's not to the the ruins of his village. Instead, he's thirteen again, armed with all the knowledge he has of the future and the skill set of a thirty year old ex-ANBU Commander. He's ready to save his precious people.
Except, he's not the only one to make it back.
[Team Minato wakes up in the past after their deaths, a week before the mission to Kannabi Bridge. Yes, all of them.]
Steps We Take  WIP
After being hit by an unknown technique, Sakura's in the past - or rather, an alternate universe that's running slightly behind schedule, judging by her continued existence. Thing is, she's totally satisfied with her happy ending. All she wants is to find her fellow time traveler (and master of dimensional-warping jutsu) and get back home.
...Still, it wouldn't hurt to push a few people in the right direction (or totally mess with them, that's cool too.)
[Formerly 'been loop the looping']
Reflection  WIP
His nose itches with the long dead scents of incense, saltwater, and spice but he doesn’t look back until -
A choked, “Kakashi?”
He closes his uncovered eye, takes a deep breath, and turns.
Three ghosts stare back.
-
In this world, Team Minato returns as heroes.
(This time, there was no disgraced Hatake runt carrying the most prized doujutsu of the famed Uchiha clan, no questions of theft or accusations of treason, no doubts of Minato’s abilities as a teacher let alone Hokage, no back-stabbing comrade killers-
-no Kakashi.)
An Inch of Gold  WIP
Team 7 is sent on a mission to investigate a disturbance outside of the village, where they encounter an unconscious girl in a crater. The mysterious Sarada insists she's a shinobi from the Hidden Leaf trying to rescue her teammates, but something about her is suspicious. When the team discovers she possesses a Sharingan, things become even more unbelievable.
Ten Years Gone  Mature *
Kakashi goes back in time.
Force of Nature  Mature
He had died- honorably, he'd like to think, despite living as a villain and an assassin for over half a century- and that, as far as Xanxus had ever figured, would be the end of that. No heaven. No hell. Just life when you were breathing and nothingness when you stopped.
Except that it didn't, quite, turn out that way. Except he came back as the son of the kindest, sometimes saddest father in the world. In both worlds. A father that he knew, without a doubt, to be his flesh and blood. All at once, Xanxus had everything he'd wanted as a child. A home. A family. Stability. And he was going to fight like hell and beat down anyone who tried to take it from him, no matter what his age.
(In which Sakumo raises a son who speaks multiple languages from birth, all of them gibberish to the poor single father jounin, spits vulgarity with the same ease as he does his praise and burns with an unshakable determination to build himself a family that will not fall, no matter who or what is thrown against it.)
Second Wind  Mature
Waking up alone in a deep forest made her believe she had died. Naruto had done a lot of crazy things in her short life, like challenging the Kyūbi and fought against the powers of a God. But this just might be the most incomprehensible thing she'd ever managed. What do you do when being unwillingly thrown back in time?
Wasting Time  WIP Mature
Sakura was not the type of person to linger over her own demise, but sitting at a dinner table with Itachi and Sasuke as her flesh and blood cousins she realises that perhaps her death should have been more thought out. Well, being an Uchiha instead of a Haruno couldn't be that bad, right?
AU Time-Travel fic in which Sakura is totally screwed over.
(Though isn't she always?)
Tampering with Time  WIP Mature
When Kyuubi was extracted from Uzumaki Naruto, it was the Nidaime Hokage that came up with an unconventional solution. An experimental reincarnation jutsu on Namikaze Minato and a one-way trip, with his Kurama, to the past.
Deathless  WIP Mature
Mortality is for losers. So is time as a linear concept.
In other words, the entire planet is dead, Sakura is over five hundred years old, and she's bored as fuck.
Time-travel is clearly the only option.
Hush  WIP Mature
He really hated hospitals. The novelty of being in one again disappeared as quickly as it came when Tsunade forced a cup full of pills down his throat.
Being stranded in another world really wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Especially when people start dying and Naruto is at a complete loss of what to do.
After the Rain  WIP Mature
Never had Naruto predicted she'd end up in the past. Not even the one who caused her to go back had anticipated she'd be dragged along for the ride. The kyūbi had been trying to save himself, not her. She'd once said that the hero always arrive late, this was quite the opposite. Naruto would be very, very early this time.
To my Masterpost of Naruto Fic recs <3
I also have rec lists for Harry Potter and Doctor who.

This 1946 Studebaker Pickup Has Been Improving for Four Generations
The first owner of this 1946 Studebaker M5 1/2-ton pickup owned it for only two or three years. In 1948, Ed Gaither, a Shell Oil mechanic in Liberty, Texas, bought it. Ed used his new truck for the job and for regular transportation. Twenty years later, he was still driving his old truck, for regular transportation and for taking his grandkids for rides.
Mike Gaither was one of those grandkids. “I still have memories of standing on the passenger side floorboard looking over the dash as we drove to the drugstore for some candy or a root beer float,” he told us. After Ed died in 1970, his truck was given to Mike’s older brother for his 16th birthday. “Gary drove it through high school and used it to earn spending money hauling hay from the fields to the barns. At one point he took off the bed and replaced it with a steel flatbed,” Mike says.
When Mike was 14 years old, his father passed the Studebaker to him. “It had been parked on the family property for a few years and he told me that if I wanted something to drive when I was 16 I could fix it up. Being in love with old cars and trucks I jumped at the opportunity. I grabbed my handsaw and cut the trees that were growing through the bed and bumpers and got to work. By my senior year in high school I had painted the truck pearl white and drove it to my senior prom. It was my only means of transportation for the next few years.”
Mike got older, married, and busy, and the Studebaker went into another hibernation period. In 2011, when his son, Thomas, turned 14, Mike passed the family pickup to him. The old truck had been parked for about 25 years, but Mike told Thomas that if he got busy he would have something to drive when he got his driver’s license. “We got carried away and built what you see today.”
“Carried away” is putting it mildly. Once our eyes adjusted to the Studebaker’s intense red paint, the numerous exterior modifications became clearer.
Mike and Thomas kept the classic Stude characteristics like the trim, grille, split windshield, and door handles, but virtually every panel has been mildly modified. Shaved driprails, filled seams, and hidden door hinges smooth the lines of the cab. A 2-inch section of the front clip sheetmetal and rockers isn’t obvious but helps improve the proportions. Custom running boards were built and the rear fenders were wedge cut and widened. The headlight bezels were replaced with reproduction parts and the front bumper was smoothed and tucked in. The back of the truck was treated to a custom roll pan and 1937 Ford taillights. The bed is stretched 1 1/2 inches and the sides and tailgate are double-walled. Stake pockets have been extended 3 inches. Retrax supplied the retractable custom tonneau cover that protects the bed.
The Gaithers wanted the truck to wear paint that grabbed attention and made a statement. They succeeded. They call the color Red Hot Meltdown, inspired by the school colors of Thomas’ high school, and by a 1932 Ford street rod built by Roadster Shop a few years ago. Mike used Axalta paint to spray the truck.
The just-right exterior modifications and the visible-from-space paintjob are two-thirds of the Studebaker’s overwhelming first impression. The third part of the equation is the slammed stance, achieved without airbags. The frame was scratch-built from 2×6-inch tubing. The widened frontend includes an Art Morrison Enterprises IFS setup, along with 2-inch-drop Mustang II spindles. The steering rack was extended 2 inches to fit the modified frontend. Antisway bars and Strange Engineering single-adjustable coilovers upgrade the ride. At the back, a triangulated four-link locates the 1980 Lincoln Versailles rearend with 3.50:1 gears from John’s Industries and a Detroit Truetrac limited-slip differential. Ford Granada rotors with GM calipers handle the braking up front with Lincoln discs in the rear.
The rear fenders were wedge cut and widened, and mini-tubs were built into the bed to accommodate the wide tire and wheel combination. Mike and Thomas mounted the rear 285/40R18 Nitto NT555 radials on 18×10 Billet Specialties five-spokes, with 225/45R18 tires on 18×7 wheels in front.
Powering the pickup is a popular 350/290hp crate engine from Chevrolet Performance, with fuel and air supplied by a 1990 Corvette tuned-port fuel injection system. Howell EFI provided the GM TPI harness. The engine was dyno-tuned at Fuel Injection Specialties in San Antonio and rated at 331 hp. Stock 1990 Corvette valve covers add some eye appeal. The exhaust exits through custom mandrel-bent 2 1/2-inch pipes corked with MagnaFlow mufflers. Backing up the small-block is a 700-R4 transmission built by Phoenix Transmission, running a stock converter and Performance Rod & Custom trans cooler. The 3 1/2-inch aluminum driveshaft is from Inland Empire Driveline Service.
The interior was treated to an updated redesign. The dash from a 1942 Studebaker was customized with guitar pickguard material. The mother-of-pearl finish looks great and was repeated on the door panels. The gauges were removed from the horizontal stock location in the upper dash and replaced by Classic Instruments gauges located in the center. The Flaming River tilt/shifter column is topped by a 1940 Ford–style steering wheel from Lecarra. The tan leather seats were originally installed in a 1995 Chevy C10. They were upholstered by J&H Auto Trim in Austin and transplanted into the Studebaker. A remote-controlled Alpine AM/FM/CD audio unit is mounted behind the seat and wired to JL Audio and Kicker speakers. A Vintage Air Gen II A/C system keeps the cab cool.
Thomas had an advantage that his father Mike didn’t have at the same age—a dad with a professional shop. Mike opened Hot Rod Solutions in Jourdanton, Texas, a few years ago as an “encore business” and the Studebaker was built there. Thomas is away at college now and Mike is back behind the wheel of the truck he has been working on since he was 14. He and his wife, Leslie, drive it around Jourdanton and to car shows. The Studebaker has been to the Goodguys Lone Star Nationals, Cruisin’ The Coast in Mississippi, Shades of the Past in Tennessee, and the Street Rodder Road Tour.
In a little while, the truck will go back to Thomas. Mike is hoping that Thomas will someday have the same conversation with a 14-year-old son that his father had with him and that he had with Thomas—and that a future generation Gaither will get to drive the Studebaker his great-great-grandfather Ed bought in 1948.

HP Pavilion Dv6 Laptop Review
Welcome to a Laptop Battery specialist of the HP Laptop Battery
Continuing my foray into the “untouchables”–or non-touchscreen mobile computing solutions–I have for you a handsome and modestly priced young hopeful. It goes by the name: HP Pavilion Dv6 Laptop with battery such as HP ProBook 430 G2 Battery, HP H6L28ET Battery, HP HSTNN-DB3T Battery, HP HSTNN-IB3T Battery, HP TPN-C103 Battery, HP TPN-C108 Battery, HP Envy 6-1001TX Battery, HP Envy 6-1222TX Battery, HP Envy Sleekbook 6 Battery, HP Envy Sleekbook 6-1000 Battery, HP Ultrabook 6T-1000 Battery, HP Ultrabook 6Z-1100 Battery. Its affordable. It’s curvaceous and is quite the temptress, with that attractive umber complexion. It definitely looks like a high class offering. So let’s see if it can walk the walk, shall we?
The configuration shipped to the heavily fortified GR compound, weighs in at a powder soft sub-$600. The guts include Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, 2nd gen. Intel Corei3-2330m (@ 2.2GHz 3MB Cache), 6GB DDR3 systme memory, 640 GB 5400rpm hard drive, Intel HD Graphic 3000, 6-cell lithium ion battery, standard HDMI-out, four USB ports (2x 3.0 and 2x 2.0), 15.6″ HD LED Brightview display (maxing out at the lowly 1366×768 res.), SuperMulti 8x DVD+/-R/RW with Double Layer support, HP Truevision HD Webcam with digital mic, 802.11b/g/n WLAN and a nice full-sized standard keyboard complete with number pad.
Lets park those numbers under the rug for a spell. The Dv6 is more a love letter to those who favor form over high function. It’s as striking for the laptop class as the Samsung Series 9 is for the Notebook-near-Ultrabook class. As I mentioned above, this unit is a highly stylish umber color. The lid is a true metal alloy and shines with an illuminated HP logo. The entire unit, looks elegant with a modest yet solid weight to compliment its premium feel. The touchpad is backlit and features multitouch functionality, just like the Series 9. Unlike the series 9, the Dv6 clearly outlines the left- and right-click buttons where the Series 9 left them to meld into the touchpad. The touchpad itself, is backlit and offers a small function in the upper left corner. Double tap this to disable the touchpad, in case you accidentally brush it while typing and/or in case you attach a USB or Bluetooth mouse.
Key spacing on the keyboard is adequate and comfortable and I do appreciate a full number pad. The inclusion of which has widened and elongated the unit so you have plenty of room to rest your wrists. Each key feels solid with no give and there is little slippage against the matte finish. HP also reversed the way Function keys work with F1-F12. For example, users must press Fn+F1 (same for F2-F12) to activate F1. Yet the function keys work all on their lonesome. This is also appreciated. I use the Function buttons far more than I do the F- keys on any given laptop. So it helps to access them without any simultaneous button pressing.
Things turn a bit southward where the display is concerned. There is nothing considerably off-putting about it. But like the Series 9, the resolution is definitely underwhelming at 1366 x 768. It’s time for manufacturers to bump up that standard. If the unit can pipe 1080p over its HDMI-out (which it can), then I definitely want something, close to that when I’m flying solo and untethered to a 1080p monitor (1600 x 900, anyone?) This is really the only point I can take away from the display. Others have thrown stones at the contrast ratio and nitpicked at the brightness. I have no quarter in that dollar. The display seem largely adequate, despite the ho-hum resolution. HP is quite the tech sculptor–the design and aesthetics are primo!
But don’t hand that nice salesperson your coveted cash, just yet. If you want to game on the go, then you should go somewhere else. The Dv6 model we digested, is not your new mobile gaming box. Some DiretX 9 games will offer mildly playable performance. But really, this just isn’t the slab upon which you want to to lay your 3D applications. If you’re the obsessive type, determined to cram a square peg in a triangle hole, then some concessions can be made for slightly better gaming performance. You can lower game settings and drop that already snore-inducing resolution to something god-awful, like 1024 x 768. Even then you will need to turn off the in-game eye-candy, such as anti-aliasing, ambient occlusion and texture quality–depending on which game you plan to disappoint yourself with.
I say, don’t even try. General use and movie playback is the HP Dv6’s bread and butter. Grab an HDMI cable and pipe that video to a large HD screen and you’re golden. The unit even includes 2x headphone/speaker jacks, which is great for silently watching a flick with a friend.
The HP Dv6 is a fine laptop for its sub $600 cost of entry. It could use a better screen resolution, but it does sport HDMI-out. So you’re not always confined to Low-Res Country. Gamers should recognize the limitation to their needs as well. All that said, HP has a gorgeous-looking solid-functioning addition to their mobile computing library, with the HP Pavilion Dv6 Laptop.
