Sharing a Bed While Camping Castiel x Evie

Prompt Number 8 “There’s only one bed.”

How? How Castiel had to wonder. How was it he always ended up in these situations? It was all the damn teacher's faults and whoever was supposed to be handling their gear fault that's for sure. But how was it he always ended up with the same angry pink eyes of one Lyndis glaring up at him with Lysander having to play referee for them, some times he had to wonder why he considered the pinked haired teen his friend especially with her questionable taste in men (IE her obvious attraction to Nathaniel)

“There’s only one bed.” 

“Technically it's a sleeping bag.”

“Lysander I will hurt you!”

“I’m just trying to clarify.”

“I’ve told you already there is no room.” Castiel has had to explain once again, he’s sure this is the 3rd time this day since they started setting up camp for this stupid trip already. 

“Give me your guitar Cas.”

“No! Why should I give you my guitar?”

“Because my cousin is sharing a tent with you and needs some room to set up a place to sleep in there with you, you dunce!” 

Castiel felt his eye twitch at this while it was true he had somehow gotten stuck having to share a tent with Evelynn better known as Evie, better known as Lyn’s cousin, and even better known to the duo he sadly called his best friends... his crush.

“For the-- We’ve already set up the tent just fine Lyn!”

When he had been setting up the tent they would be sharing earlier, due to their class having lost more than half their tents and gear and everyone having to share a tent. 

He and Evie had become the outliers when they were the only boy and girl to be randomly paired up for sharing a tent. Obviously, when this had occurred Lyn was far from just livid, though he knew it wasn’t anything fully against him... sorta. Hell, he was sure she’d have reacted the same to Nathaniel and Evie paired up or even Kentin just as badly. That was just Lyn’s usual overprotective nature with her cousin in general. Her tent mates jokes didn’t help.

“Oh~ Big bad wolf sharing a bed with little red riding hood, why does this sound like the plot to a good old--”

“Ms.Zelda!!” Bless that teacher he may have just snapped at the idiot as she snickered like a sly Cheshire cat.

The teacher Borris far from helped though when he tried to imply Lyn take Evie's place as Castiel’s tent partner if it were such an issue, Nathaniel was all but glaring at him for the damn teacher's joke. 

“Sir that will far from resolve the underlining issue.” Pfft, if anything that might have made it worse.

He was so close to trying to pick a fight with that guy, ever since the whole... Deborah incident, that guy has been really nagging on his nerves with how much closer he’d gotten to Evie, and all the damn jealous glares he’s been sending his way cause of his and Lyn’s very platonic, thank you very much, friendship. If the damn idiot had a problem with his and Lyn’s relationship then he should grow a pair and just ask her out already.

That was beside the point though, in short when he’d been setting up the space he had had Evie’s help. Awkward as that could have been with their still recovering relationship. When they found the lack of proper room for both their sleeping back, stuff, and his guitar. He had already begun to think about how he could convince Lysander or even Lyn to help him store his guitar somewhere safe. But then... Evie had suggested something. 

That very same thing being to combining the two sleeping bags together. Apparently, a trick Kentin had supposed showed her and the twins Armin and Alexy how to do when the two had been struggling to set up their own tent and sleeping space. That way the floor of the tent had more cushion, and Evie could just grab a spare blanket Lysanders crush, Asuka had brought along just in case. 

The idea was simple enough really, just make the bed bigger and use an actual blanket instead of the sleeping bag for cover, maybe even share the pillow if they really had to. Castiel could keep his guitar in the tent and close by, albeit he and Evie would more than likely be pushed close together, but honestly, he found no issue with it. He was more than happy to be allowed closer to her after everything his EX... and him... put her through.

“Look it’s the first night of this damn camping trip--”

“Thank you captain obvious--”

“Shut it or I will never help you with your dye job again Castiel!”

“Pfft shows what you know I can always just get Lys’s help here, isn’t that right bud?”

“Please... Please don’t extend this even farther, you two. It’s getting late and we have an early morning wake up schedule.” Lysander almost seem to groan, his face showing how tired he was as he struggled to rub the sleep from his eyes. 

“Lys--” Lyn began to try and say only to be silenced with a single wave of Lysanders hand.

“Castiel, is there enough room at least for Evie and you to both sleep in your tent?”

Castiel smirked, “A bit of a tight squeeze, but yes.” He wouldn’t dare try to rile Lyn up any more than she already had been his ‘tight squeeze’ comment was all that was needed to let Lyn know he and Evie would more than likely end up very close together as they slept.

“And if I recall correctly Evie was with Castiel setting up their tent were they not Lyn?” 

Lyn blushed as she tried to stutter out a retort, “ Well yeah, but you know how Evie can be--”

“Than we should trust that Castiel and Evie are both Mature and sensible enough to know what they were doing and let them and ourselves go to bed.” Lysander actually yawned, the day had been a long one and even Castiel himself now had to admit he was feeling the tiredness of the day hit him. 

“Damn it... I hate when you do that.” Lyn finally groaned before yawning even more loudly then Lysander had. “And now you have me yawning!”

Castiel had to cover his own mouth as he ended yawning as well, “Fuck, now I’m doing it.”

“Well, they are contagious.” A familiar light voice spoke up as Castiel, Lyn, and Lysander each turned to see Evie standing by them dressed for with her obnoxiously huge cat ear headsets around her neck blaring music, and a soft looking white blanket in her arms.

“Is that the blanket?” He asked holding his hand out to take the thing as Evie simply began to walk slightly past him.

“Yep, Asuka says it's fine if we keep it till the end of the trip if we decide to share the tent again tomorrow instead of playing leaf roulette on the pairing. It’s luckily not on the heavy side so it should keep us warm enough without overheating or killing us.” He had already started to follow her back to their tents without much a thought and a simple wave of goodbye/night to the others as he went. 

“Should be much a problem if we get to cold we could just share body heat.” He tried to tease as Evie began to blush as she sent him a sly smirk.

“Oh... Then are we to strip down if we were to get too hot.” He couldn’t help but smirk down at the much smaller girl as he took note of how light her night clothes were, tank top and pair of shorts. 

“Well... there not much you’d have to take off.” He decided to play along, watching as she stopped to turn her gaze at him in front of their tent. The lack of her once long hair most obvious at this notion but the blush and pout on her face all the worth it as she said.

“In your dreams.” Before ducking down to crawl her way into the tent with the flap closing behind her.

He could dream... but he could just enjoy what little he and she would be sharing in that one bed for tonight... or the rest of their camping trip.

Review: Heartland Ep. 1111 “Somewhere in Between”

(Cross-posted at FB.) I came in expecting to be impressed, and I was not disappointed. Thanks to another excellent script by Mark Haroun and excellent performances by the cast (Chris Potter and Victoria Pratt had some meaty scenes to chew through), "Somewhere in Between" brought a very balanced episode (after all that talk of restoring balance last time). I liked that Tim (with his track record!) convinced Jack to do something nice for his wife, even if it was not in his "wheelhouse" to go on the ride. The reasons for Tim's advice are plain to us, since we know he fears he has precious time left. I also liked that Val was not her stereotypical insufferable self, even dropping a truth bomb on Lisa for how she was treating Jack. (What a reversal!)  And gee, who knew Val and Dan could have fun together?! Part of me cringes at that "pairing", but another part says "Y'know what? They're probably perfect for each other". Poor Wyatt. What's a guy got to do to get back into Georgie's good books? After overhearing Val talking to Dylan about having a horse he might ride (Arrow has come up lame), he thinks this is info Georgie ought to know. Val hasn't been pleased with how Georgie's been performing (a third evidently isn't good enough). So, is Val looking to replace her rider? (The answer to that, my friends, is.... I can't tell you.) Amy has another successful result with a client horse after taking him on the hunt and impressing Val, so the "Miracle Girl" is back in fine form.

All of that was very nice, but the best moments in this episode were the times we saw Tim. He's really suffering in this shroud of darkness, most of which is self-imposed. My favourite part was when he's baby-sitting Baby Lyndy and tells her all about her Grandma Marion. He tells it like it's a fairy tale, and it's very sweet, even when he's honest enough to admit the "prince" Marion married wasn't much of a prince because he was "broken" inside. Chris Potter's acting chops were on full display. Whatever your opinion of Tim as a character in the past, you have to give a hand to Potter for playing him so well. When Casey finally drags the truth out of Tim after he tries his utmost to drive her away (even going so far as to lie that he doesn't love her), she speaks four words that will hopefully end his stupid behavior: "I'm not going anywhere". The episode closes with Tim riding out to Marion's grave. He props his hat and his yin-yang/falcon medallion he got from Altan on the headstone. He doesn't say anything, but one gets the sense he's finally making peace with all the mistakes he made when he was married to Marion. Maybe he's even forgiving himself. I hope so. He deserves some peace. Final thoughts: Jack did look dashing in his new threads. Yes, snow can come on that suddenly and in very isolated pockets in this region of the world. I sympathized with Tim and the Jasper-eating-chocolates incident (I was dog-sitting once and that pooch got into what I thought was a very well-concealed candy bar. Thankfully, the amount of chocolate was nowhere near toxic levels, but I was very concerned.) Lyndy says "Dada" again! What a little cutie. Lisa and Val being civil to each other! Will wonders never cease.

Okay no, I must do this first XD I have older prompts but this combo oof yes I must do this first!!! It’s a bit angsty but let it be known that it holds hope, Nath’s route in UL is one of trial’s it seems so you girls stay strong and never give up faith your boy.

It’s not about deserving... Lyndis x Nathaniel

Prompt number 2 “You love me as if I deserve you.” and number 10 “You’re wrong and I’ll prove it.”

“You love me as if I deserve you.”

He remembers saying that to her as she cleaned up his face. Her rosy pink eyes had been set in a glare before that. He didn’t even remember how he came to be there, at her home instead of his. One bad fight and somehow he’d ended up here being taken care of her instead of him having returned home to take care of his injuries on his own.

“Maybe... But that’s not really for you to decide now is it.” Her response had been short and straight to the point. “We got back together just because of that love didn’t we.”

Opening his eyes he found himself laying on his back, staring up the far from familiar ceiling that was his girlfriend's bedroom. It was still dark and the soft blue curtains over the windows of her bedroom did much to keep the street lights and moonlight from entering the cozy space. Turning his gaze to the right side of his head, he stared at their joint hand as Lyn’s resting face laid on the other side of them facing him. Her hair a mess as it went about obscuring part of her face and upper collar and neck, her lips a darker shade of red from bruising kisses. The familiar marks of his possessive touch and kisses already starting to form on the once unmark space of her neck and collar.

“Maybe we shouldn’t have...”

“Not this again.”

“I’m serious Lyndis!”

“Oh~ My full name where have I heard this before.”

“Listen to me! I let you go the first time--”

“And we both agreed that was one of the biggest mistakes of your life.”

“Lyn!”

The look she sent him... It hurt, it been one he had been receiving a lot from her too ever since her return from the states and his breaking up with her over the phone. 

“I thought we were over this.”

“And you’re helping to patch me up because of my mistakes... You can’t seriously say you're okay with this.”

“Of course I’m not! But--”

“We should have never--”

“Shut up!” 

Her fist had hit his shoulder, he’d winced when she fallen into his lap. Face buried in his neck, her body shaking as she pressed herself closer to him. He couldn’t even hold her, didn’t feel he had the right to. How did he always do this, how did he always hurt her? Honestly, he hated himself, he didn’t deserve someone like her, after everything he’s done he didn’t have a right to her. He broke up with her the first time just cause of that. He knew, after all, he knew that he was a weakness for this usually strong woman and independent woman that Lyn was. He knew and yet he still...

“You are such an idiot.” 

Her voice had been shaking and his heart had been clenching at the sound of it.

“I hate you so much at times you know that.”

“You should stick to that. Hating me... things would probably be easier for us then.”

“You’re wrong!” 

She’d sobbed and he had felt his shoulder and neck start to get wet. He’d moved to hold her close as she began to pull away to look him in the face.

“Damn... can’t you see how much I love you.”

“I wish you didn’t, I wish I could just let you go.”

“Well, I won’t let you! Not again! I’m never letting us end like that again!” 

Her voice had cracked as she shouted that in his face, that determine glare mixed with tears, he honestly felt his own start to fill with their own when she inhaled and had her gaze shift to a more loving and soft one. 

“I promise... I’ll prove it.” 

He moved to face her, careful to not allow their hands to separate as he did, using his free hand to push her loose strands of hair behind her ear. Before shifting to pull her close as her nude body shivered even underneath the sheets. She stirred in her sleep ever so slightly but it only been to press herself closer to him.

“I really don’t deserve you.”

I saw you also reblogged the ask tag, and since we don't know much about Evie either I figured I could ask something about her~ So, is she close friends with any of the canon characters? And is there anyone she really dislikes?

First off, sorry it took so long to respond I was in class.

Second, Yay!! My first ask! Okay, this might be long, keep in mind this kinda plays into the cannon I’ve made for my Candy...

During High School originally Evie wasn’t really close to anyone aside from Kentin, and in my cannon, her cousin Lyndis. She interacted with people and enjoyed their company to some extent but Evie was still new at the time and didn’t know where she’d stood with people. She got along well with Castiel, Iris, and Nathaniel right off the bat so originally she was closest to them if you weren’t counting Kentin, Lucy, or her cousin. As time past and she met more of the students she pretty much befriended all of them in some way shape or form, except for Amber and her friends, Capuchine, and Peggy.

Melody and Evie were rocky at best, as Melody’s jealousy was something Evie did not enjoy at all. She even tried repeatedly informing Melody that she was not, nor ever would be attracted to Nathaniel.  It didn’t work till after she and Castiel began dating.

Violette and she got along great, with Evie understanding how to handle and even support Violettes more timid nature.

Kim and Evie never really fully interacted but both of them seemed to enjoy speaking to one another every now and then

By the end of High school though Evie is best friends with Alexy, Lucy, Priya, Rosalya, and Iris.

She is on n speaking terms with Capuchine and Peggy as well, though more Capuchine then actual Peggy. 

She has also taken Nina under her wing as a sort of big sister figure to help support Nina emotionally, as she can understand on some level what Nina must be feeling emotionally.

And most the guys and she are good friends, though she is dating Castiel who is also her best friend. In my cannon, at least none of the guys ever really fell in love with Evie outside kentin and Castiel. Nathaniel, Lysander and she have formed a strange familial like bound as friends, she looks up to them like older brothers and has admitted it to them, and Armin and she are more gaming and fan companions when it comes to their likes.

She didn’t necessarily hate Amber or her friends, though she wasn’t on any proper speaking grounds with them. This originally extended to Capuchine and Peggy as well prior to the end of High school.

The closest to hating someone Evie has is Deborah herself and Charlotte for what they did to the people she cared about, I.E. Castiel and Iris respectively, and even then she’s more often than not to be calm about dealing with them unless she’s highly emotional or just done with them. 

God I hope I explained that well 0////0
