So I did a drawing of my MCL First Gen and my Eldarya OCs together.

I always imagined both of them to be sisters. The left one is my MCL OC Elaine and the right one my Eldarya OC Evie.

Elaines LI is Lysander. Evies used to be Valkzon, after that Lance.

The reference for this was a picture I took with a friend two years ago. I originally just wanted to sketch that. You can always tell btw when I use references… (trying to get better lol.)

Maybe one day ill do actual lineart and not just colour in my sketches.

Also backrounds are the enemy so I’m currently playing around with colored squares for it

More long ramblings about more England Women's Senior and U19s games under the cut.

I did say it would be interesting to see how the games turned out, for different reasons, and...that's one word for it, I suppose? Especially for the senior team who apparently chose chaos for the day.

U-19s England Vs Serbia, Final Score 1-1

Now this was more of a match to see how the team play under pressure and Serbia offered a lot of pressure. They were fast, physical, and pushed hard up the pitch. Captain, Matejić, who also scored Serbia's goal was a particular challenge for England, but far from the only one. Stokić caused all sorts of problems, keeping the wingers and midfield busy, and the back four were definitely not making it easy for England to get through.

While England put up a fight all game, they probably didn't deserve to get the equaliser in the 90th minute; it was a somewhat debatable hand-ball vs ball-to-hand in the penalty box that gave the opportunity for Enderby to equalise. Serbia probably feel, quite deservedly, a little hard done by.

In terms of seeing the potential of players under pressure, Arsenal's Vivienne Lia continued to be impressive, especially in her link ups along the wing with Araya Dennis (who signed for Tottenham Hotspur in February). Evie Rabjohn of Manchester United was also looking sharp defensively until she suffered what appeared to be a nasty knee injury in the 20-25th minute of the game. Commentators didn't bring up the possibility of ACL or MCL injury, but whenever it's a knee involved and the player is stretchered off, the question is there.

Final game against France for the U19s will be an even bigger challenge, I should imagine.

England vs Sweden, Final Score 0-0

Well... Interesting is certainly one way to describe this one. Weirdly oscillating back and forth between chaotic/panicky and underwhelming, especially in the second half, with many of the same issues as in the Ireland game. A change back to a more familiar line-up, with Hampton being the only real surprise, given Sweden's strengths in set pieces.

Based on interviews with Wiegman and the speculation of the media and fans, the battle for England's GK spot is definitely on and... I don't believe it was even close to being answered in this game, but I'll come back to that.

The late substitutions were an unwelcome return. It often feels like some fresh legs at half time would make a difference. Since Wiegman has this reluctance to disrupt flow, you always get this sense that she holds on too long and the players are far from their best by the final 25ish minutes.

The hesitancy and extra touches in front of goal were still an issue, with few efforts on goal. From interviews, the team are VERY aware of this, which makes you wonder what the root cause is. I do think one contributing factor is this is where they really miss Lauren James, who will often take a shot or a chance at a shot or a cross, and seemingly make something out of nothing.

England received a number of arguably soft free kicks and did little with them, though one of their few chances of the game came from a free kick that ended in Bronze heading the ball at Mušović. That said, while they didn't convincingly best the Swedish defense at all, they started strong by dominating possession and play for the first half, keeping Sweden shut out of their final third for all but the last few minutes. The second half, on the other hand, was often panicky, with England too easily being put on the back foot.

Honestly, England were fortunate Sweden were not in great form themselves. A team in better form would have punished them for those set piece errors. And while I am always delighted when a player shows integrity and stays on their feet in the box, and wasn't exactly enamored with commentary saying Kafaji should have gone down, it's true that England were fortunate she didn't. A lot of players would have gone over and pulled that penalty.

A lot of player discussions can be boiled down to "probably should have been subbed out earlier" and "got shaky under pressure". Outside of those two main discussions, Hemp and Carter also struggled to link up on their side of the pitch, with Carter not looking in her usual form. Carter also had a rough time trying to keep Rytting Kaneryd from causing mayhem when Sweden did eventually start to break. I wonder if subbing her out at half time, like with Ireland, would have been a better option. She looked shattered by the end.

Mead and Toone started out decently and then struggled in the second half. I've seen criticism of Toone starting as opposed to being a super sub, but I think she had a decent first half and was involved in driving forward a number of the chances England did have. There was one run forward I was sure she was going to take a crack at goal and then just...didn't at the last moment, with that same extra pass and hesitancy mentioned above. The problem is she disappeared in the second half - I think Toone often works better for one half or the other, and there are options to rotate that role available.

The midfield struggled at times to keep play moving forward, though Bronze's return did help with that on the wing, giving Walsh more options with Bronze's confidence in mixing overlapping runs and backtracking more substantial than Le Tissier's was against Ireland. She did seem a little stiff-legged at the beginning though. The commentators seemed of a mind that she was going down easily to get free kicks, but sometimes she looked to be less steady than usual. As the game went on, she seemed to settle into her usual play and made a vital clearance from inside the eighteen yard box as well.

The defense overall, though seemed determined to bring panic and mayhem to the second half, I fear.

Williamson and Bright were mostly good, especially first half, making blocks and clearances, keeping the Swedish players away from the England goal. There was also less back passing this game. However, for their strengths, they also had multiple moments of chaos when they either gave the ball away unnecessarily, made a slightly uncontrolled lunge in the penalty box (Williamson), or outright just clattered into Hampton during set pieces (Bright). Communication between Hampton and the backline did not look strong, and Hampton noticeably struggled to communicate at times.

Which leads to the return to the #1 Goal Keeper conversation.

There is a tendency for fans of different players/teams to just be overly biased towards their preferred player and against the perceived "competition". That can be very apparent with the England GK situation. Chelsea and Hampton fans have said that fans of Earps who were commenting on Hampton's performance would have given more grace to Earps had she performed like Hampton did. And it's absolutely true. Equally as true is that if Earps had been on and performed like Hampton did against Sweden, the same Chelsea and Hampton fans would be calling for Earps to be dropped to 2nd or even 3rd choice keeper.

Hampton did not have as bad of a game as some people on social media have made out, but she also had far from the quality game that other people have argued in response. She made a few good saves as well as some scrappy saves that chance was on her side for. Also, a clean sheet is a clean sheet whether you get there with grace or inelegance or utter chaos.

However, I said in the Ireland game write-up that, under pressure, you can see the same shakes and errors start to creep up for Hampton and they appeared again, but worse. This isn't just an international game thing either, you saw them at times at Aston Villa and there have been signs of them at Chelsea, too. They just seem to be worse on the international stage, likely due to nerves.

Hampton spilled the ball in front of the net multiple times, struggled in areas where she is often commended like gathering crosses and long ball distribution, and seemed to struggle to get communication with the back-line right. By the end of the game, she had a thousand-yard stare that made you think she was probably relieved that she wasn't going to have to play in England's goal for a fair few months.

The GK situation at England is certainly far from a done deal right now. Unlike other positions on the pitch, there is so much less rotation amongst keepers that you can't imagine a situation under Wiegman, with her style of game plan, where they would be rotated in and out, playing to their strengths each game.

There was a news article out today that said that Wiegman was making it clear by benching Earps that there were no guaranteed places in the team. But benching players as an indication they've failed or fallen short wouldn't be the first solution I would think should be tried here. Reworking the approach to how the game is played and how players are used, especially substitutions, would seem like a better initial approach to try.

But, you know, given the chaotic choices I sometimes like to make in FC24 just to see what happens, I'm not a manager of a football team for a multitude of very good reasons, (with career path and logistics at the top of that list), so all of this is just hypothetical rambling 😅

MCLs

Kagura – her mcl was brought at the insistence of Evie and Millianna. She wasn’t too fond of the idea herself until they both pointed out that it would be a good way to communicate with each other while any of them were away. Seeing the benefits of it, Kagura finally purchased one. She went with the most expensive Bloom model, the Daisy PetalAVM XL, for its wider range of capabilities, more efficient charging, and contact storage. She picked the lilac model and keeps it in a clear protective case that has a cherry blossom on it. Milli gave her a flower charm to attach to it too. Her lockscreen is just one of the default options (a flower with a pretty blue sky behind it) as she hasn’t played around with personalising anything yet.

Millianna – she was excited to buy one, finding it much more efficient and convenient than sending letters. The device allows her to keep in contact with Sho and Wally (as well as more recent friends she’s made) more easily, so it’s something she adores. Like Kagura (because she picked Kagura’s one), she has the Daisy PetalAVM XL, except Milli’s is in nice peach colour. Of course she has a case with a cat paw print on it, with a charm of a little black cat attached. Her lockscreen is (surprise surprise), a cute cat.

Jenny – as someone who works frequently with Sorcerer Weekly and is an influencer, she was given MCLs of each major brand, along with some lesser known brands as well, in the hopes of her promoting them. As a lover of technology, she tested them all thoroughly and has actually been working with Hibiki to develop their own version of the device as she sees room for improvement in all ranges. In the meantime, she has gone with the Nebula, in rose gold. While she likes the design of the Bloom ranges, she can’t deny that the Nova models have better functionality. She has a lilac case with rose gold glitter detailing. Attached is a matching rose gold flower charm. Her lockscreen is a picture of the sunrise from her home.

Evie – The differences in brands meant very little to her, she simply wanted whichever one would do the best job, and so she entrusted the decision to Risley, her assistant. Risley picked out a blue Nebula for her, along with a beach themed case with a cute seashell charm. Evie finds the potential usefulness of the device intriguing and it was why she suggested her mages all acquire one if they could, however she often forgets that she has one herself as she’s not quite used to it yet. She does love to call and message people when she remembers she can. Her lockscreen is a view from the beach near the town.

Bisca – she went for the purple Nebula and has a clear case with no charm attached to it yet. She depends on the device for staying in contact with Alzack and/or whoever is looking after Asuka if she’s not with her. She also likes to message her friends and use the photo capabilities to take pictures of whatever interests her. She tends to have an excessive amount of photos stored, mostly of Asuka, Alzack, or animals, or food. Her lockscreen is a nice picture of Alzack and Asuka.

Ichiya – he is another Nebula user, but mostly because he saw Jenny’s rose gold one and loved its look. He has a clear case to display the colour, but there is a blue rose inlaid on the back too, custom made. To match the case, he has a blue rose charm attached to it, which comes in handy when he almost drops the device and manages to catch it by the charm. He loves to take pictures with it, but is quite terrible at it as they all end up blurry or with his finger covering part of it. His lockscreen is a group photo of himself and the trimens with Jenny and Master Bob.

Simon – he isn’t too interested in the different brands but has ended up with a DaisyAVM simply because Milli picked it. He’s still getting used to using it but likes the idea of being able to contact Kagura and Milli at any time. Milli picked him a purple one to match Kagura but it’s in a dark green case anyway. She added a cute tree charm, which he finds gets in the way and is a bit annoying, but he keeps it on there because she likes it.

Evie tried doing Mays hair and we'll.... It's mostly a mess but don't worry... I'm sure after Mays does hers the two can have a nice laugh and work some messy hairdos for a nice evening of hanging out.

Evie does not have any siblings but she does have her cousin Lyndis known as Lyn who actually the same age as her and she sees like an older sister.

Evie is actually pretty close to her mom, though Evie tends not to share much of her feelings she is honest when she can be with certain issues. Evie's usually been so well behaved that her mother actually worried she was living her teenage years to the fullest.

As for her dad it's pretty much similar to her mom Sept for his over protectiveness. Her father struggles to accept Evie growing up and when it comes to boys always wants to keep them away from her. Evie's main issues with her father is mostly how he seems to view her as a child even when she's a full grown adult.

As a kid Evie was bullied a lot. She was always so hyper, and Spacey it caused issues in her school life. Teachers tried to claim she had behavior problems, kids messed with her and she ended up crying a lot. It was finally discovered she had anxiety and ADHD when she was young but it took many years to do so. Evie had to watch as doctor's either didn't listen or believe what she said about her issues, which led her to depression, and then lying to her parents about certain things she said. Evie no longer trust mental doctors and refused to see them, she isn't medicated for her issues. But has learned to live with them, her parents, aunt, and cousin are the only ones to know this originally. But she would later share this with Rosalya, Alexy, and even Castiel during HS when her mental state would overwhelm her.

Sweets, earbuds, her house keys, cellphone, wallet, and a pencil maybe. She usually doesn't have proper pockets so she usually carries all these things in her bag.

Nope, outside Evie maybe remembering certain things she can't really say what she dreams of. The most notable thing is usually if she remembers things, those things can usually be translated and can hold some truth in them.

Her nightmares varie the most common theme in them that she can remember is her running away and Zombies... Like... Why zombies she doesn't even fear or watch many things with them. She theories it may have something to do with her anxiety however.

No, though she has always wanted to learn how to use one.

Nope, it's pretty funny really because even though they've always been fine more or less financially Evie's parents have always moved them around so much that she has had to wonder what it is their jobs want from them.

That depends, alone at home Evie can feel comfortable with less clothes on but in public as a teen she struggled to really show much. She liked clothes that could show to much skin and she struggled to fully embrace that as a teen, as an adult now though she's less embarrassed and able to do so.

Panic attacks, Lysander being hit by the car, and her first night back in Sweet Amoris. Evie's usually calm, even with her anxiety underneath her skin at all times, so she's only ever felt true fear when she'd had panic attacks, saw Lysander hurt from the car, and when she was almost assulted on her first night back home.

Surprisingly enough the calmest Evie has ever been was her first time with Castiel, was she nervous yes, but nothing as bad as what her anxiety could get. He usually helped to sooth her prior to their first time together and after it was done she was probably the most relax she could be outside a goods night sleep.

Kinda, it's not that it bothers her to see it but more where it came from. It's why she's squeamish with Gore, but seeing people donating blood or cut doesn't really bother her.

Kinda both, it depends on the people usually she's better with faces then names but sometimes it swaps to names instead of faces and she can never be consistent with it. She blames her inability to completely pay attention at times for this.

Nope, outside her worrying over bills and wanting new video games, or movies, or books for her collections Evie doesn't really care much for money or material possession. She knows she can't have it all so outside wanting to be a responsible adult but still enjoy her hobbies her care for money and expensive things is low.

Happiness, success is great and all but Evie's had to suffer to long with her Anxieties and depression to want anything then just some happiness.

Video games, she was a lonely child.

It depends, she loves people who are smart enough to understand things or life but she likes to believe that those very same people can be the most ambitious.

She never feels she's enough and struggles to share this with her significant other, Evie's first and only real relationship was with Castiel. And she knows that isn't good, but prior to him she really didn't have much interest in dating, crushes sure here and there. But actual boyfriend girlfriend nope. As such she was really new to it all and she never felt she did enough or was enough. Deborah appearance during Castiel arc also didn't help with this. This is what played such a big role in the break up though Castiel doesn't know it. She thought she was holding him back from his dreams wasn't enough support and wasn't there as much for him as she wanted. After Castiel she hasn't had any real relationship even though she did try for a short time to move on, she just felt she'd repeat the same mistakes. It's why shes actually so focused on Castiel again in UL, she wants to do for him what she couldn't before and be more honest with him on everything.

Self critism to all hell, and she hates it so much. She knows she should accept herself and love herself but Evie struggles to not secretly look down at herself. She's tried to fix this in UL.

Neither, well kind. Break up with Castiel and Nina almost getting assulted oh boy did she blame herself, Lysander getting hit by a car, she was more worried about the boy at the time but she'd later go to blame the driver of the car before going to understanding that it was just a dream accident and no one knew it would happen.

She likes self confidence and a sense of humor.

She dislikes judgy and hypocritical people.

Her trusting people varies, the person has to either already know and have the trust of someone she knows and likes or have made a good first impression.

Suspecting people is more... Hard to explain. Evie doesn't necessarily distrust people but her anxiety does put her on edge with them, it's why she usually can pick up when people or being fake or putting up a front luck with HS Amber and Deborah. Or even Melody's passive agressive nature, or even Clemence. She never suspected Priya or Yeleen even if to some extent she was having issues with Yeleens attitude prior to meeting her mother. as for people she's close to, she tries to give them benefit of a doubt, and tries to be supportive to them so they can open up to her.

Motherly, like it's not even a question she gets this strong maternal feeling with young children. As the kid is older it shifts to more elder sibling like feelings but Evie greatly care for children.

She doesn't, confrontation to Evie is weird. She may argue with someone if it's in the defense of others but she struggles to do so when it involves her. She rather talk it out maturely then say things she doesn't mean. It can happen though and it usually leads to her making a snappy remark that leads to her regretting her lack of control later.

Slow, she does not like phyisical violence. They can do just as much damage as verbal in her opinion, but if she is pushed she may do so in the defense of others. Aka when she slapped Castiel during Nathaniel's Arc and why she wanted to slap Deborah once she knew what she did to Castiel and Nathaniel, and Why she wanted to do so against Kentin during his rebel phase.

Nothing really, sure Evie though doctor or chef or even model but she never as a child really dreamed of becoming them outside pretend. So as of now she's not working towards any dream.

Getting piss drunk, the smell of alcohol disgust her even if she has nothing against the stuff it's just something she hates.

Being home alone with only the people she loves or her video games is the most comfortable Evie could be.

Being away from home with people who don't respect or care for her is the most uncomfortable she could be.... Hello Clemence.

All three, I'm series here because it all depends on what someone gets on her for. Her bottleing in emotions yeah sure she knows she needs to fix that but she also looks down on herself for it. Caring to much for others then she does herself, yes she knows it's bad, she wishes she could care about herself more, but at least she cares unlike some people.

Eh, again it depends. Evie's insane and all but even she knows you can't repeating the same thing and hope for the better, she only does so when she knows it has to do more with someone being stubborn then actually that the method is flawed if not that though yeah she goes looking for better ones.

Loving, though she is still somewhat distant she is living with the people she cares for and likes.

With people she dislikes cold, and highly distant, she doesn't want to interact with people who will just bring her down.

Neither, I think. She doesn't really feel she needs to defend herself or her status, as she usually feels she hasn't done much to need to do so. Take the events of UL episode 8 for example though... She kept quiet and tried to avoid the issue with Rayan because she didn't feel anything for him and knew rumors only got worst if she reacted, yet with her placement in the school was endangered by the lies of others and she did worry about her place for that.

Again it varies and has more to do with a situation, if she knows she's making the issue worse or could do so she leaves the issue aka episode 8 of UL but if she knows she isn't a factor and that the person needs help she tries to remove the problem, Aka Deborah during Castiel arc.

She's been accidently bitten by dogs before but they never bother her as she knew the animal never ment too.

She treats people in service jobs with respect, she's knows they have to put up with shit and if it's obvious they are struggling she knows she can't blame or get mad at them for trying to do their job.

Earn it, she knows life isn't easy or simple and she rather know she did her best to get what she wants then having done nothing at all.

Her aunt Agatha, even if she seems crazy and a little bit weird she knows Agatha cares for her and as such Evie never shys away from her.

Lucy, Kentin, and Nina. Evie connected well with these three, she knew Lucy needed support, knew Kentin needed a friend, and knew Nina needed love and support. She connected to them and has tried her best to be there for them even in UL.

It's not difficult for Evie to say I love you, but she does value the word enough to not use it enough for it to lose it's impact or meaning. She said it with Castiel more then with her own family, but Evie felt that more was her attempt to make up for the shit hand Castiel was given when it came to people leaving him behind.

She doesn't know really, but it doesn't scare her. She just accepts that whatever happens happens and she just has to live with that.

You're too kind thank you for asking I hope I can deliver good material, I’m going with Evie and Castiel of course since you are a fellow Castiel Stan. And I messaged you to confirm, but semantics!

2. What was the first moment they knew they were in love with their LI?

(Copy Paste)- For Evie it was during the Deborah debacle during Castiel’s arc, when he didn’t believe her, when he shunned her… it hurt it really hurt, she didn’t understand originally why that was but that night as she cried and thought about it. It hit her… that she was in love with Castiel and that this was what heartache of a broken heart.

But to expand on it I’ll let you know when Castiel knew and hilariously enough it was actually in this arc as well for him.

To be completely honest neither knew they were in love or falling in love originally. Evie was just his friends (Lyndis) cousin after all. They got along well enough and enjoyed each others company even to some degree Castiel felt secure and safe with expressing himself with Evie and he could even tell Evie felt the same. But then Deborah came back, and his mind and emotions were all twisted into knots he didn’t know what to do, what to think, what to feel, then he’d snapped on Evie and the look she gave him... He never really forgave himself for bringing that look onto her face. And when she came back to school hair short and her behavior starting to change somewhat he felt worst. He’d done to her in some ways what Deborah had him, and when he knew the truth by the end it sicken him. He supposes he’s lucky the changes Evie went through weren’t so much for the negative outside his and her’s now more fragile relationship having to be resecured and her becoming more assertive but he still feels some guilt over breaking her heart back then when they had first started to fall in love.

3. When they are having a fight, what is it about and how do they deal with it?

Okay so this actually must be divided into parts between HS and UL due to the changes the two go through as individuals and how they are with one another in said timelines.

Honestly fighting rarely happened between Castiel and Evie back in HS, at least not full on two-sided fights. Evie had always been the more level headed between the two of them and none confrontational, and never was quick to temper, annoy maybe, but actually fight, hardly. It was actually those rare time’s she did get mad and fight back that told Castiel just how much in the wrong he was, as she usually tried to reason with him and understand his point of view on issues, and never tried pushing him past comfort zones she’s didn’t feel he was more than ready to leave. When they did ‘fight’ it was usually Castiel’s jealousy at work, or even his own worry/annoyance at Evie’s overly caring nature for others, especially after the whole Deborah incident with how easily people turned on her. He tries being the realest in their relationship as such and most their conflict usually ends with Castiel either having to walk away and calm down. Evie kindly enough giving him his space, and then coming back together to apologize and talk things out in a more calm manner, which is hard as Castiel sometimes wishes Evie would fight back more on things... Then he has to deal with her Cousin and is reminded why it is Evie actually being angry in rare occasions actually signals to him he’s gone too far.

As of UL things appear to be more or less the same... Though Evie is more willingly to fully express herself now. Castiel is more or less grateful for this, the night he tried to ask her for a one night stand had ended badly, he had known it wouldn’t end well with how Evie was Demi-sexual, she still loved him but she didn’t know or believe he did her. In some ways, he insulted her sexuality, their bond, and her feelings for him by doing so and he knew this after the fact when she left almost in tears as she fled. It wasn’t what he was trying to do he honestly loves and missed her and just... even for one night wanted her back. He knew he crossed a line so he did not blame her when he confronted her later to apologize and better explain himself when she was upset with him. Seeing her like that if anything helped him realize that she had changed and he wants for however long he has to be there. Ups downs and all, jealousy is still bound to happen that's a given, there are still some issues with how his career is the main point of tension that could lead to them breaking, but he’s willing to be the one there for her just as much as she has always been before.

16.Jealous at all?

Oh, big time! Though mostly from Castiel. Evie isn’t necessarily jealous in the sense of getting angry or openly possessive hers is more of her own self-consciousness and doubts in her own value and worth, and Castiel knows this and tries to his best to reassure her on it especially with how it was back in HS during Deborah’s first appearance which had caused this issue with how people had originally kept comparing Evie and his Ex till they’d turned on her and then the big reveal. Castiel, on the other hand, is testy with the whole thing, he knows how much of a catch Evie can be to others, and back in HS she had Viktor, Kentin, and Dakota all pinning or after her affection. There was a short time her interacting with Lysander, Nathaniel, and even Armin would somewhat upset him but once they had gotten their respective girls (more like he realized who they were actually interested in, in Lysanders and Nathaniel cases). Evie was, in Castiel’s opinion, to nice and it gave guys the wrong message back in HS, and in UL it seemed to have been occurring again with Hyun. Long distance hadn’t helped with his jealousy back when they broke up, and he knows it’s an issue he has. He supposes he’s lucky Evie is for the most part understanding and does her best to deflect those she honestly has no interest in.

And finally 30. How does that love change as they get older?

It doesn’t. Strange as it may sound. As teens the love they share was very pure and warm, there was this underlining of passion mostly from Castiel due to Evie’s demi-sexuality but as time went on even she began to express the same. Evie’s love was always compassionate and understanding, always willing to accept Castiel and to work with him and Castiel had started to feel the same. When they first broke up it devastated them both though neither knew how to fix it, how to fight for the love they felt for one another and instead tried to move on. By UL that love has far from dwindled and if anything it has made them more open and conscious to one another's flaws as well as their own. They want to do things right this time around, the flame of passion they had as teens still lies beneath the surface of every kiss, every touch, and every caress they share. And as time passes their sure it’ll only grow as they get to rediscover one another and themselves with the other. Whether it be the simplistic of some down almost domestic time with watching a movie at either of their places or the hot passion of carnal dance of sex the two’s love for one another is always ready to adapt and grow alongside themselves.

Candy too, like okay I made Evie more reserved so if she ever got nosy it was usually because she tends to look to much into her friends actions and emotions so she picks up if something is wrong, I do all the time to my friends and they still wonder if I can read minds, anyway my candy only got dragged into people's problems either cause someone else pulled her in or she willing got involved ei castiels, nathaniels, and irises arcs

At the end of the day, it’s what the writers are doing, and like it all gets stitched up in their characters. so if their characters aren’t written well or consistently, it throws everything out the door. is yeleen your typical mean girl? are we supposed to befriend her later? or at least find a middle ground? or are we just always going to be on the outs with her??? like i mean you don’t have to like everyone you meet, obviously, but she’s at least complacent one minute before tearing shreds off candy the next in front of her friends. k

amber was just. the typical high school bully with severe insecurity and daddy issues, terrorised by her twin brother throughout childhood, bottled up into a blonde who couldn't follow through on her threats and didn’t like actual confrontation (a la priya). compared to yeleen, amber was relatively... harmless, i dare say, even though i detest bullies with intensity no matter their poor tragic backstories. and i still cant believe we cant just. refuse to forgive her for the way she acted in high school. amber in mcl was relatively comical for the most part? we knew she was madly in love with castiel, and in the pursuit of him it reflected back on her. she was still a little all over the place, but you knew that she was going to act the way she was. still dont care for her lmfao but you know? that’s how she was.

candy’s characterisation.... reflects on just the intent to mimic typical japanese otome, especially ones that were really big around the time of mcl’s initial creation. thankfully most games have moved away from the air headed, nosy, lacking in self respect etc etc kind of protag. but candy didn’t grow with that change in market. she’s been written just the way she was years ago, and i mean. i’ve said that the game hasn’t aged well (i mean... you can understand why ppl aren't crazy about castiel when theyve started playing this year and it came out 7 yrs ago. his character hasnt aged with the growing trend).

theyre still like. clinging on to a lot of the old tropes she was, but then layering it with other stuff that isn’t... digestible? i don’t think they know their own character. i mean of course candy’s personality is influenced to some degree by player’s choices... but at the end of the day, the protag still has to have some essence of their own being. even the most basic of basic self inserts still had something to add to their own stories.
