How do you like your Tamsand; in AU or Canon compliant? But it seems you have already answered, but please do elaborate more on what type of AUs you enjoy most

Good morning my dearest Yeehaw Santa! (Is your first name Yeehaw and last name Santa? 👀)

My general answer is that I like anything that gives room for creativity, it's the same with the ships and rarepairs. I like seeing how people can get clever and have fun with it.

The reason I'm leaning more and more away from canon compliant is I'm not sure where to go that's not... depressing 😭 Or that doesn't go over the whole Feyre situation.

THE TYPES OF AUs I LIKE:

Canon Divergent - Pro Tamlin (giving him more credit than the books do), developed relationships between Tamlin and the IC (and honestly the rest of the High Lords too), anything that bounces off the lore to go in a new direction. This includes fix-it fics! I'm ride or die for Tamlin & Cassian HIMBROSHIP!!

Dark Fantasy, Horror & Monsterfucker AUs - I'm a horror girlie at heart. ACOTAR is really the outlier in my preferences. I wish the series had more fantasy in it, and I would've killed for more Eldritch Horror, Mysterious Mists, and other spooky things. October is my favourite month too because of Halloween! Also werewolf!Tamlin x Vampire!Rhysand just makes sense.

Marriage/Married AUs - I've been feeling down lately, and I realized that my comfort reads are light-hearted BLs that end in happy endings, preferably married. Not me foaming at the mouth when they have wedding rings and do really normal married stuff like what do you mean they're just cooking together 😭 This also works in a ACOTAR/High Lord setting like look at them, the people's princes!!! Doing Good Things together!!

Slice of Life - Jumping off the previous point, I also really like these type of stories. It's not really an AU, but more a scenario. I just... want them to have peace doing normal ass things peacefully. Which of them would be the trophy husband? Or the house husband! What about going to the market together or Tamlin's pet rescue addiction? 🥹

Mafia AU - This is a really specific scenario that I've had in mind for a while, and I'm really slow at writing mine (it's the crossover I have with Superbats) but look this is a TWO CAKES!!! situation. Mafia boss and his loyal bodyguard who knows him so well and anticipates his needs before he even has to ask who's been in love with him for decades but hasn't ever made a move, not even when his boss is drunk and he carries him home to bed, because it's not professional???? God, I die, I die for the loyalty and the yearning. Also, hehe, the tattoos. Bonus points if it's gold-hearted mafia boss too.

Uh, I'm sure there's more! I'm very fond of badass warriors/killers who have a soft heart for the ones they love too. Honestly, I'm pretty open-minded to trying anything new too 😊

What is your favorite Tamsand moment in canon that gave you the push to ship them?

When it comes to canon, I remember the exact moment where I started shipping them, and it was when Rhysand mentioned that Tamlin used to train at the Illyrian camps with him. The rest is history from there. My brain just went 'and they were exes' 👀

I will say I do feel some type of way about Feyre being in the middle of them; I struggle with canon because I don't think it's fair for Feyre if Rhysand and Tamlin yearn for each other unless it's a polycule. I genuinely feel like Feyre deserves to grow into her identity without getting trapped in dramatic old faerie yearning (and a mating bond). It's why I prefer to write prequel content, and I don't really read 'present' canon Tamsand, if I read canon at all.

I much prefer canon deviant or full AU to avoid turning Feyre into a 'tool' for their drama. She deserves better 👉👈 I also probably should add that I steer away from adultery fics, including emotional affairs. So, if you could stay away from Feyre vs. Spring Court, or the whole weird bit where she was with Rhysand but wasn't clear with Tamlin that it was over (+ lying about whatever she was up to with Rhysand), i would really appreciate it!!

When they're protective of each other, either Rhysand of Tamlin, or vice versa. Big fan of the "who touched my wife" trope!!

Learning to be soft after spending most of their lives being all tough and being their father's sons

For NSFW, I do like bottom!Tamlin, or power bottom!Rhysand -- I like Rhysand worshipping Tamlin too!

I've also been re-reading some of my comfort manhwas, if you're familiar with that type of media, and I realized they all have the tall, dark and handsome very wealthy, older, successful and charming businessman and/or gold-hearted mafia swooping in to save the helpless main character with the love, comfort and spoiling they deserve.

Even though I like Rhysand taking care of Tamlin a lot, I do think Tamlin would be so proud of himself when he does stuff back for Rhysand 😭
