*Crawls out of the dark matter that consumes the wretched.* :]
Idk what that was about. My limbs hurt. Anyway!
Because of someone's wonderful question ( @coelacanth-designs (idk if you wanna be tagged) COUGH!
HMSsonas. Explanation for each of em'. Yay.
---
Now yes they still hold some aspects of the originals, but I think they look cool.
💜So first we have Heart, I don't know what to really call any of them. (Figure it out later).
He's more or less literally the emotions, he loves too much yet so very little at times. Mostly depends on who he finds comfortable. Anxious, just stands there confused on what to do, how to approach, just anything. And overall has a kid like attitude to some things, not really feeling all that mature in some aspects. He also can easily hate whenever things happen that are...not to his liking.
His outfit could be based on something I wore before, like gowns or something. His eyes, when either under extreme emotions or literally heartbreak, can split and probably damage his vision. They're all hairy. That's cool. And purple is pretty.
💙Ah yes, the Mind, he's.... More of the critic and always questioning why or how something works, not to the extent that Heart does in a worried sense. But in a wonder, wanting to take in the knowledge of others. But he's easily irritated. Just by noises, they're all annoyed by sudden loud noises. As I am myself (they are supposed to reflect me. Sooo/lh) His outfit is basically what I wear sometimes in colder weather, jacket with whatever. No jewelry though. But he has it because it's nice. And uses big complex words for no reason but because he thinks it sounds good.
❤️Seeds, Hm? Oh Soul, they... are basically more closer to me. Funny shirt with random pun/design, baggy pants (depending) always carrying a bag of stuff. Comfort bag I guess. Little worm on a string and dinosaur, (I don't have actually, but have had before.) Soul is in his own head, always distracted but tries to stay on task, also an emotional being, having curious ideas, walks in a funny manner. He doesn't really care about how he looks, he just wants comfort. But if he doesn't care, others will. Soo social anxiety get inside the boi. (Not because of his attire, but of being told to do things normally). He says whatever on the top of their head, though he's weary to say anything. He also has a more feminine build then the rest of the two, Mind has a bit more masculine build, Heart has more of a chubby build. But Soul? He's skinny. To a degree. But he doesn't mind it.
---
Here's alt stuff, like without the text and some rabbit ears, cus rabbits are cool. And some doodles. :] ⬇️
---
Think that's all for now, uh if I come up with nicknames for them, I will. But until then *THROWS THEM*
and Myst is still the "Whole" of the group. Kinda.

TAG NINE PEOPLE YOU WANT TO GET TO KNOW BETTER
I was tagged by @rainbowcolored7 Thank you so much honey!! I am so sorry that this is late, life has been hectic but I’ll try not to disappoint!
Okay, so, I’ll do my best to keep this away from being a haphazard mess as best as I can, but I might fail because these questions are hard😭😭Anyway, lets go!
Favourite Colour: Baby yellow and bright yellow, basically most yellows but not the greeny ones or the dark mustard coloured yellows. Blush pinks, burgundy and plum purple.
Currently Reading: Right this moment, KinnPorsche the novel, though it’s a ride and a half and I have to keep taking a breather and I’m not even a quarter of the way through 😭 It’s gonna take me ages! Fanfictions... there are so damn many, my phone hates how many tabs I have open. There’s a mixture of KinnPorsche fanfics and Bungou Stray Dogs fanfics. To name a few KinnPorsche fanfics, there is On The Clock By Serena_Writes and it is so fucking good, I’m honestly hooked! Dropping a baby off at a mafia compound is a good idea, right? By lalala53 on Ao3 or @lesbianiconsteveharrington here on tumblr. It’s a one shot, but my god it is so fucking cute!! It’s just *chef’s kiss* Adorbs! Definitely would recommend! The Modern Way by TheObsoleteOne. This one is just fucking adorable in all aspects! If you want KinnPorsche with cavity inducing fluffiness and heart flutters caused by warm, comforting domesticity, then this is the fic for you! It’s the cutest shit ever! And another great fanfic, which has also got me hooked on the edge of my seat like what’s gonna happen next?, Somewhere I Belong by Jamaican Princess (Rocquellan). There are so many more but I’d be here all day, but these ones I would definitely give them a read as they are so amazing!
As for an actual original book, I’m currently reading Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, Bungou Stray Dogs novel 55 Minutes by Kafka Asagiri, Trying by Emily Phillips, Child of Fortune by Yuko Tsushima and No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai.
Last Song: Oh damn, where the hell do I start?! I know I’ve been listening to CIRCUS, Christmas EveL and Maniac by Stray Kids on a loop, as well as their other songs, I’m a Stay and I love these babies so much! LALISA by LISA. Mirror Mirror by MILLI, Feat. F.Hero and Changbin from Stray Kids (I mean I loved this song before the KP World Tour, but Us has got me hooked on it even more so I blame him). SG by Dj Snake, Megan Thee Stallion, LISA and Ozuna (was addicted to this song as soon as I saw the video of Bible rolling his hips to it so thank you KP world tour, eternally grateful☺️) Another song I’m hooked on right now is PIECES by Elley Duhé, this song for multiple reasons. More artists I’ve been listening to are Bebe Rexha (I’ve loved Bebe for so damn long), ITZY and DREAMCATCHER.
Last Series: The last series I watched was KinnPorsche (though I can’t stop watching it, it’s the love of my life and I have separation anxiety and KinnPorsche withdrawal symptoms). But before that, I watched Vincenzo; So freaking good!! Definitely would recommend! There’s a nice balance of mystery, comedy, crime, drama and mafia too, it is honestly such a good series. And then All Of Us Are Dead; Now this show, holy fuck, it was so good I watched it again straight after finishing it, it’s THAT good!! Again, would definitely recommend! Both Vincenzo and All Of Us Are Dead are on Netflix.
Last Movie: I honestly cannot remember the last movie I watched, I’ve just been watching series so I can’t remember off of the top of my head but I think it might have been Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness which was excellent! Definitely would recommend this to anyone who is interested.
Currently working on: Okay, I don’t know if this counts but I’m in the process of writing a few KinnPorsche metas (I hope they’ll be metas and not just messes) and they’re currently glaring at me from my tumblr drafts, waiting for me to finish them, which I will eventually get around to, but that’s what I’m in the process of working on right now.
I am going to tag @lutawolf @markswifesblog @isolatedkiller @iffervescent @biochemjess @lobsterjimsourcream @accal1a @yeahmileapo @percyjacksonlover-15 @maleficent-cannoli @luckydragon10 @00vi I just realised that that isn’t nine but it’s fine, and I’m sorry if I’m tagging someone who has been already been tagged and if they’ve already done this. If you have, then don’t worry about it. I could have honestly been here all day answering these questions but that would go on and on so I made it as short as I could. Thank you again @rainbowcolored7 for tagging me, you’re such a sweetheart! 🥰🥰💖💖💖
#KinnPorsche#Vincenzo#All Of Us Are Dead#Stray Kids#Bebe Rexha#Elley Dehé#ITZY#DREAMCATCHER#Bungo Stray Dogs#Lalisa#Lisa Manoban#LISA#Netflix series#Do I tag everything I mentioned? I’m honestly not too sure#I hope this isn’t too all over the place

lol i just started following everyone who was talking about Moncito and fidelity from @thesolotomyhan’s page and i love how you are getting posts on here about it too😂😂😂
also, i agree big with your response about men being “desmadre,” compartmentalizing sex and intimacy. even tho i was the one who said i get Rafa vibes from Mon, if we got a window more into Mon’s personal life, i could actually see it being written the way you described, so like self-loathing after he cheats but cheating bc he also doesn’t know what else to do with himself or how else to channel more nuanced feelings (bc men aren’t allowed to have the full range of them bc gender roles/conditioning :/). i still stand by the Rafa vibes being how he is enamorado, in the beginning at least, mostly bc they’re similarly childlike and impulsive, yknow happy-go-lucky one minute and pinches pistoleros locos the next. and Ramon would be a shit liar like you mentioned which is also attributable to him being a little bebe, like not wanting to disappoint his female caretakers early on in life i.e. his mom or Dina, and that translating later to his romantic partners to the point that he just tries to lie and sulks bc he knows you see right thru that shit just like Dina would lol. anyway, basically yes to everything and i love this fandom and that y’all get me and are willing to let me lurk and shout at you on tumblr. okay that is all byyeee
lolool oh god, yes, I still can’t believe how my ask sparkled all this in-depth debate over Món and fidelity, but I’m loving it 💜💜💜 I think we absolutely should discuss every tiny little aspect of that man and his life, he deserves our full devotion ok dsjdjsdjs. And yeah, not to get more into this because it was never what I intended to do here, but I do think overall men’s psychology and behavior works different than our own, esp. in regards to sex and intimacy, and how they deal with emotions, too, which I don’t tend to see it in terms of either bad or wrong versus good or right, but rather as healthy or unhealthy. The same applies to our own pyschology and behavior, it’s just different and I personally try to understand these differences in order to have good relationships in my life, and sure, we can add the social factor into their behavior, but as I said in the other ask, I don’t believe (anymore) that it is as significant a factor or even the base factor for it. With Món, the way I see, the way I approach his character takes into consideration his sex, his age, his environment and his personal/family relations, unfortunately like you said we didn’t had much of a window into his personal life :(((( so we have put the pieces together ourselves to think about how he would be with certain things or react to things and well...I’m doing it!😄 But I agree 100% with you with the Rafa thing, I thought that was so spot on because I can also see some similarities between them, (pinches pistoleros locos 😂 I LOVE IT) although I think Rafa was more emotional, more reckless than Ramón, like he felt things too intensely. I don't think Món gets to that level, he is emotional, yes, he is hot-headed, he’s quick to react to things, esp. if it’s connected to his family, but I also think he’s a bit more chill than Rafa, and a little less reckless, less irresponsible than Rafa, like even with his temper, as far as I remember, there are no mentions of him doing anything that jeopardized his family in the way Rafa does with Miguel, for example. AND OMG I’m having a cuteness overload with what you said, of him being a little bebe that didn’t want to disappoint his mom or Dina 🥰🥰🥰 and then that translating to his partner, you're totally right! I can see that, him trying to lie, sulking about it because he knows that you know, and then not knowing what to do next.... AY MI NIÑO PRECIOSO! <333 And same, I didn't know how lovely and fun this fandom was, otherwise I'd have join sooner, it took the last season for me to jump right into it, because the Arellanos obsession got out of control, haha.
#ask answered#replies#yourlocalspacewitxh#welcome to my mess of a blog and thank you so much for this message! <3

babes! 5 // 10 // 15
thanks bebe!
5) character you were most surprised to end up writing
... Can't decide between Finn and Tommy, because I really don't have a thing for both XD but I ended up writing for them, because... well I got requests.
11) what aspect of your writing do you think has most improved since you started writing?
Literally everything, because I started writing when I was 12, so basically a child, and I couldn't write back then and I had a horrible spelling, they even thought I had dyslexia, but it turned out, my teachers were just super shitty, and kept stressing me in class until I would cry.
So yeah, everything from dialogs to describtions to the characters themselves, I would say I made a lot of changes in style and humor as well
OH SHIT, that's 11 and not 10, but fuck it, because I already wrote that shit XD
10) write in silence or with background noise? with people or alone?
Alone!!!! This is so important! I got used to write around my bf after 2 years of living with him, but everybody else can fuck off!
And sometimes, when it's a really difficult scene, I need silence as well, but otherwise I got a ton of playlists to listen while writing.
15) why did you start writing?
Because I was 12 and bored and I could only pick a hobby with the following aspects:
inside, because my parents didn't drive me anywhere and I lived in the middle of nowhere, also they didn't like me going outside
no costs, because my family was poor and I couldn't do anything, which needed equipment, because I couldn't afford it
silent, because my parents would yell at me, if I made noise
And I always had vidid dreams and I loved to explore them

Drunj!Der Yells About Outlander
Thoughts on Ep. 505
ADSOOO!!! AND CLAIRE!!! AND ADSOOOOO!!!
My floofer was not amused when I woke her up to show her the cat on the teevee. Bqhatevwr, boo boo, you’re stuck with me. #TeamSocialDistancing
Oh, I guess the voice overs are back in a big way. Super...
And also like, this whole running bit about God and stuff would work so much better if they’d included Jamie and Claire’s faith a bit more throughout the show. *cough Jamie’s prayer cough*
Do we have to pour one out for science!jizz? This is the book bit where the science!jizz happened, but maybe they’ll do it later? Probs not. Le sigh.
Marsali being all excited with Claire and Claire being all fuck yeah I found it gives me the warm fuzzies. I LOVE THE TWO OF THEM A LOT OK.
This montage makes me dizzy. Not a fan, tbh.
Oh hey, the old Hancock building! With a park that looks nothing like Boston, haha. But I appreciate the effort lol, my main office is like a block from the old Hancock building. Not that I’ll be seeing it any time soon. Living that work from home life until the plague times are over.
But for real, social distance. No joke. Stay the fuck home.
I love 60s Claire if only because damn girl, look at dem legsss.
Hi, I’m Der and I’m very shallow sometimes.
But Claire has objectively great legs.
Omfg, Roger, stop being a butthurt whiner. You suck at being a soldier. You know you suck at being a soldier. And instead of being like yeah, let me learn and get better, you just bitch about it.
Sam is gonna kick his horse in the head at some point. Why the fuck does he dismount like that. It’s literally bugged me since season one.
So they’re pardoning everyone. Probs not Murtz though. Cool that instead of doing a continuous ramp up to the inevitable confrontation, they’re going the book route of lol, jk, all this was kind of a waste of time for now...
Really, Knox, you did something excessive? Cool way to say murdered a dude.
Ok well if Knox is getting the Ardsmuir roll, then he’s def gonna die, right?
Jamie’s 100% gonna intentionally miss Murtz’s face.
Boom, called it.
I do not like spiders. Please move this VO along, Claire.
I’m fucking glad we finally get Doctor!Claire. We should have gotten more Doctor!Claire in season three. Jamie got to have all aspects of his 20 years examined but fucking Claire’s side was literally just about Fred and how shitty he is.
Fuck you, season three. Fuck yeah, Doctor!Claire!
“It’s my married name.” Lulz. And not the married name she wants...
GRAHAM SAYS THE THING JAMIE SAID WHEN CLAIRE WAS STITCHING HIM UP IN SEASON ONE AND I HAVE FEELINGS ABOUT IT OK.
Graham makes me miss when the show was in Scotland like whoa. I miss the Squad. There are so many characters now that are like kind of always around but they’re not part of the Squad. And the main Squad is always separated. So like there’s barely any big group adventures anymore where we actually give a shit about everyone involved.
I JUST WANT THE FOLKS I CARE ABOUT TO HANG OUT MORE, OK!
Needle!jizz 2.0 is gonna be the closest we get to science!jizz, isn’t it. Whomps.
Can the show please just be a period procedural with Claire and Marsali being badass doctors? Thx.
Because for real though, Marsali being like “scalpel” is my favorite thing ever.
I feel you, Jemmy, I’d cry if I were stuck hanging out with Roger too.
I DO NOT LIKE SPIDERS, CLAIRE.
“My lass is more concerned wi’ words and deeds.” Which is why it baffles me that she’s still with you, bro, because your words and deeds fucking suck.
How Bonnet doesn’t accidentally swallow the diamond is beyond me.
Ok so if your wife was violently raped and you know she’s had some PTSD about it, because you’ve seen the drawings and stuff, you should maybe act completely the opposite way from how Roger is acting.
“And you kept it? A gift...from Bonnet.” Yes, you giant fuckwit, your traumatized wife went to hang with her rapist for shits and giggles and accepted a present because she really wants a memento to remember him by. They’re on such good terms and all. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?! HOW IS HE SUCH A DOUCHECANOE?!
You do not get to judge or question how someone processes their trauma you raging asshat.
He is such a fucking Fred.
Do I think what Bree did was smart? Or a good decision? Hard no. But it’s what she thought she needed to do to move forward with her life. And so she can do whatever the fuck she wants. Yeah, words have consequences and it was a stupid move, but Roger needs to step all the fucking way off.
“You’ve never said as much to me.” “I didn’t think I needed to.” I HATE ROGER SO MUCH. I HATE HIM WITH THE PASSION OF A THOUSAND FIERY SUNS. HOW DO THE WRITERS NOT REALIZE THAT THEY’RE MAKING THE CHARACTER WHO’S SUPPOSED TO BE THE SECOND ROMANTIC MALE LEAD AN IRREDEEMABLE PIECE OF SHIT. OH WAIT BECAUSE THEY HAVE LOTS OF PRACTICE FROM FRED 1.0 THAT FRED 2.0 IS JUST A NATURAL PROGRESSION.
Lol at this “Boston” priest sounding vaguely southern. Is he one of the pedos the archdioceses just kept shuffling around?
(I’m not a fan of organized religion and being forced to grow up Catholic sucked a lot for me. I did some therapy about it.)
Ok so is Claire’s knife on her belt the hand job antler knife? I mean, Jamie doesn’t give it to her until Echo, but I’m gonna pretend like it’s the hand job antler knife. Also, some witches use a white handled knife called a boline to cut herbs and stuff so it’s fitting that Claire constantly-being-witchy-to-her-own-detriment Beauchamp has a white handled knife for collecting herbs.
“Yeah, Frank and I... no, we had a very complicated marriage.” Well that’s one way to put it. *keeps rage bottled up on the inside*
“Frank and I, we still managed to make it work, for Bree’s sake.” Except it didn’t fucking work. He was terrible to you. You basically put up with 20 years of emotional abuse for the sake of your kid and then he used her as a weapon against you. Because he is garbage. Much like Roger.
Claire is always the bigger person. She was with Fred and now with Roger. Like, I’m still pissed that she never got to let out her side of things. She just keeps framing it through rose colored glasses, never speaking ill of Fred when he didn’t do that for her.
WE DO NOT DESERVE CLAIRE BEAUCHAMP AND NEITHER DO MOST OF THE MEN ON THIS SHOW.
Fergus deserves milady.
They’re really going hard with the Roger, Bree and Jemmy have to go back stuff. Are they gonna bump them going back up to the season finale this year? They bring it up basically every fucking episode. I’d be down with moving that along tbh. Except then we’d have to have just the two of them as their own story line and I hate that part from the books.
“We are but humble servants to the law.” Really, Javert Knox. Would you say your duty’s to the law?
“Those who follow the path of the righteous shall have their reward.” Yes, bible and shit, but also a veRY FAMOUS LINE FROM A VERY FAMOUS SONG FROM A VERY FAMOUS MUSICAL.
“Scotland, eh? I never stopped missing it.” HARD SAME, GRAHAM. HARD SAME.
Pledged their oaths to the militia. Not the governor. Miiiinor detail, haha.
“It is a relief, to finally put down the sword and pistol and pick up the axe and shovel.” So, Jamie, you’re saying you’re gonna walk behind the plough-share, you will put away the sword?
Oh hey, it’s Joe! Another person we should have spent more time with in season three.
“Something about Graham Menzies...” Maybe the fact that he could easily have been part of the OG Squad?
I MISS THE OG SQUAD.
“Principally that men like Fitzgibbons never change.” Really, Knox, men like [him] can never change? A man, such as [him]?
“OUR DUTY IS TO THE LAW. WE WILL SEE JUSTICE DONE.” OK BUT THEY’RE LIKE LITERALLY TRYING TO SHOEHORN IN ALL THE LES MIS LYRICS THEY CAN LIKE THE TIME I DID THAT WITH I’M ON A BOAT IN THAT ONE RECAP...
“What kind of deceitful devil wears the guise of honor and talks of justice and mercy?” Valjean Fraser, at last we see each other plain...
“Believe of me what you will,” there’s a duty that he’s sworn to do. Protect his Murtz.
“As god is my witness, I will do what must be done.” You never shall yield? ‘Til you come face to face?
“Damned if I’ll be in league with a traitor.” Would you rather live in the debt of a thief?
“But I will not stand by and watch my kin hunted like a dog.” Like a dog on the run, Jamie?
Called it! Broski needed to die. You’re not gonna make sure the letters are burned all the way, Jamie? Like didn’t that dude who brought in the letters see you there? This seems like it’s gonna backfire *rull* quick.
Also, speaking of dead bodies, is Rando McWhatshisface still in the basement?
Is Adso Gavroche in this scenario?
Jamie Fraser, murder to kitten snuggles in 0.3 seconds.
IF YOU HURT ONE HAIR ON MY LITTLE BEBE’S HEAD, I WILL END YOU, JAMIE.
Slash finally, I thought this episode was turning into Waiting for Gadsot...
(I made myself chuckle a little too hard at that one, tbh.)
“I found him in an alley, couldn’t leave him behind.” AKA how Jamie Fraser adopts all of his children, haha.
“How would you feel about taking a trip to London with me? Your father wanted to bring you there before he died.” You mean, when he threatened to steal your kid from you? It fucking speaks so highly of Claire that she won’t ruin Bree’s impression of Fred. Even though Bree knows by now that he was a terrible person.
“Thank you for my gift.” YOUR GIFT LOVES YOU TOO, CLAIRE!
(And I’m still a sucker for the Claire calling Jamie “soldier” bit.)

ANNE-MARIE - BIRTHDAY
[3.50]
Anne Marie is just going to bring us a birthday gift on our birthday to our birthday party on our birthday with a birthday gift. (It's not actually our birthday)
Katie Gill: Just because you've found a bunch of fun sound effects on your keyboard doesn't mean that you have to use ALL of them during the verses. [4]
Michael Hong: It's bold, it's brash, it has the energy of a funhouse covered in streamers and candles and blown up to double its size. That's to say, "Birthday" could have been a hell of an event if it didn't feel so self-serving and artificial, like you were attending the event of someone who only invited you because they knew you'd bring a good gift. [2]
Alfred Soto: The enervated vocal and blah beats suggests self-congratulation at 2 a.m. when your friends have gone home but you're still drunk. [1]
Kayla Beardslee: One of those pop songs that exists in a strange vacuum of competency and pointlessness. Who is this for -- who wants to hear a successful pop star lie about not being able to afford their rent? If you want to shout about yourself (which isn't inherently bad: we all need self-esteem boosts now and then), at least do it over a less basic beat. And don't constantly remind your ex that "I ain't thinkin' 'bout you" when you're the one who keeps unconvincingly referring back to the breakup ("I won't cry about you anymore"; "Whatever I can do to get my mind off you"). I guess every year from now on has to begin with a posturingly pink anthem about mindless consumption. Maybe I hate this "7 Rings" aesthetic because it tries to have the best (eh... the most) of both worlds -- the stereotypically feminine vs. the one-dimensionally bitchy and competitive -- without ever looking for nuance. Women be bratty, amirite, but it's fine because they're sticking to their pretty pink gender norms and not threatening us. Although light-hearted tracks like "Birthday" aren't required to comment on femininity/fame/other deeper concepts, the song is hollow and self-centered even when grading on a curve: stripped down, all that's really there is a celebrity demanding money and attention, in a tone that's not nearly joking enough. [3]
Joshua Lu: At first glance, "Birthday" is a bold affirmation of Anne-Marie's right to be young, stupid, and horny that I can't believe Bebe Rexha didn't cowrite. But there's an underlying sadness to "Birthday" that makes these histrionic festivities feel forced, best exemplified by that contradictory statement of "Now I ain't thinkin' 'bout you." The heartbreak she's desperately fleeing gives her recklessness not justification, but purpose. Part of me wishes she left this aspect out -- a party song doesn't need tragic backstory, and isn't necessarily stronger with one -- but it makes sense; rarely is a party felt without some lingering sense of sorrow. [5]
Kylo Nocom: A grotesque blend of SOPHIE sound design and more conventionally obnoxious trap-pop. Yet who doesn't love causing some shit on their birthday? Anne-Marie has a fine addition to the annoying party-girl canon of pop, slotting in nicely as a substitute for Melanie Martinez's "Pity Party" post-cancellation. [7]
Jacob Sujin Kuppermann: There are so many specific choices being made here in the lyrics and the production (especially Anne-Marie's vocal production) and I hate every single one of them. This sounds like a Target ad from hell. [0]
Leah Isobel: [hits bong] Dude, birthdays are, like, liminal spaces... they're concentrated 24-hour blasts of solemn reflection and consumeristic hedonism. It makes total sense that people start to hate them and wanna get drunk and make stupid decisions. It's, like, who even enjoys their birthday in 2020? [coughs] Like, bro. Anne-Marie's singing about feeling heartbroken on a day that's supposed to be a celebration of her life. She's fucking-.... she's like, "I'm supposed to be happy but all I can think about are my dumb decisions and regrets! And I can't even pay my rent!" Oh, sorry, I'm hogging this. [passes bong] But like... do you think she even pays rent? Like, I know popstars are people too and stuff but you'd think she, like, bought her own place by now or something. "Look at me, give me money" is a pretty direct summary of what it's like to be a pop artist but in this context it feels more pandering than, like, honest. It's like, yeah, we know birthdays are shit, but that doesn't mean it feels good to listen to an adult basically have a tantrum on record, no matter how catchy it is. Can I see that again? [hits bong] What do you mean it's just a pop song? [6]

Student Journal (Assignment 2)
End of Week 1
For my first week at Amnplify, I straightaway got into the action and had a live review. The first one was Gordi at the Thousand Pound Bend in Melbourne. This venue was like entering an episode of Pretty Little Liars. It was a dark, mystic shed with a few lights that created a dark, mysterious atmosphere. Gordi took to the stage with a small crowd of around 200 and the mood was electric. The hollow shed absolutely complemented her vocals and it was such a special gig to be a part of. I felt like I wasn’t even working because I knew exactly how I was going to write my review for the show. It was so effortless as I felt so much passion in my task of writing the review.
I also had a single review this week for Demi Lovato’s new single Sorry Not Sorry. Being a massive fan I just had to cover her comeback and once again I absolutely smashed my review as I felt like I could write with such confidence and ease.
I think the hardest part about this week was watching the tutorial video on how to edit and post our reviews for the website before they went live. It took a few hours to wrap my head around the editing aspect of it but once I got the hang of it all, everything was pretty straightforward.
End of Week 2
This week I had an interview with artist TESHA on her new EP release. I had to send a set of fifteen questions to her team and they would eventually email me back with TESHA’s answers. The response was surprisingly super quick. The responses to my questions stunned me as they were so in depth and descriptive which is not what I expected. It was such a cool experience having that communication with an artist and getting a deeper insight into the meaning of their music. Writing up the review was pretty simple as it was pretty much my questions and her answers.
This week I also had a single review for Selena Gomez’s new track Fetish featuring Gucci Mane. It was fun to write up this review as the music video had come out at the same time so I was able to show more understanding and express a stronger opinion for the review.
What I learnt this week was not to be so afraid of trying something different. I was quite nervous about doing the interview with TESHA because I wasn’t sure if my questions were going to be good or interesting enough as I wasn’t really sure what was the ‘appropriate’ thing to ask. However, everything ran so smoothly and the experience was amazing.
End of Week 3
This week I got to go and do another live review. I went and saw Brightness at the Yah Yah’s in Melbourne. This experience was completely different compared to the Gordi experience in week 1. This venue was at the top of a bar and the crowd was a bit lifeless and dull bringing in around 50 people. The music was really hard to hear, as the speakers weren’t really that clear and it was quite easy to become distracted. When I went to go write this review I had to speak with my boss and emphasise the fact that I felt like I couldn’t really write anything positive about it, as I didn’t find the gig enjoyable. I learnt a really valuable lesson from him that sometimes you just have to push through and do with what you’ve got. My boss helped me tremendously in structuring this particular review.
I also had a single review for Louis Tomlinson for his first solo track Back To You featuring Bebe Rexha. As I absolutely fell in love with this song, I was able to write another passionate review that I felt was really bold in expressing my opinion.
All in all, a interesting and valuable week as I learnt not every review I write is going to be easy but it’s worth the risk to step out of my comfort zone and experience something that is not within my normality.
End of Week 4
This week I was reviewing Little Mix’s concert at Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne. Reviewing a venue that is quite large compared to the small gigs that I have attended so far, it was such a different experience when it came to writing the review. There were so many more aspects to write about such as the staging, the merchandise, the fandom, the mosh pit, the screens, the outfits, the lighting and so on.

Later in the week I also reviewed Julia Michaels’ EP release Nervous System. It was such an incredible ride writing about an album this time, as I was able to write about the journey it took me on and the story between each track on the EP.
The hardest thing about this week was the length of my reviews and the extra amount of time it took due to the concert being long, as well as the EP review being my first non-single review. I also had a performance review with my boss and we went over a few editing tips that he thought I could benefit from. He gave me some really good constructive criticism that I felt was really going to help make my reviews more solid and professional.
End of Week 5
This week was such an entertaining week. Charli XCX dropped a music video for her single Boys and I was over the moon that I had the opportunity to write about it as it featured so many male celebrities within the video. It was so pleasing to review and I felt like with the performance review the week before, I was really getting into the swing of making my reviews look and sound a whole lot better.
Later in the week I also had another single review for Zara Larrson’s single Only You. It was quite a different experience writing about a song that is more of a ballad as the way you express yourself involves a more vulnerable tone that my previous reviews. I was learning a lot about my feelings and emotions towards the music I was hearing which I believe was making me a much stronger journalist.
Then towards the end of the week Camila Cabello dropped her double feature singles OMG and Havana and I just had to review them. It was once again a whole difference experience writing about two singles in the one review, as I had to connect the meaning of the songs and really understand what I was conveying in my writing.
I think what I learnt the most this week was that it’s okay to show a little more vulnerability in my work and not rely so much on all the upbeat kind of work as that’s what my main focus was on weekly. I had such a versatile range of artists and reviews to write that I loved having a sense of diversity to work with.
End of Week 6
This week was the first week I was going to write a whole album review. I listened to Kesha’s comeback album Rainbow the day it dropped and had fourteen songs to write about. Thinking it was going to be an enormous challenge, structuring the review was probably the most difficult part where as writing the actual review flowed so effortlessly. I learnt that writing a review for an album was similar to telling a story, you explain and respond to the different chapters, however they all link together and give you one big picture at the end.

This week I also had a single review for Justin Bieber’s track Friends with Bloodpop. It was such a drastic change from writing the Kesha review as the sound was completely different and it gave me a good opportunity to once again show some diversity in the work I was doing.
This week I learnt to trust my instincts. When it came to writing the album review I was a little bit scared to be completely honest. However, it really is a piece of art that you’re writing about and there isn’t really a right or wrong answer. I also learnt some new editing tips as album reviews include my images and quotes throughout the final reviews.
End of Week 7
This week I wrote another album review for Australian artist Citizen Kay. As his style of music is the complete opposite of what I usually listen to, I found a new appreciation for his type of genre as I really listened to the words and was able to write a review that was really in depth and meaningful.
I also had a single review for CNCO and Little Mix’s collaboration Reggaeton Lento (Remix). This was such an awesome review to write about, as half the song is sang in Spanish so I had to really rely on the instrumental and the beat of the track to empahsise the way I felt or thought about the song.
This week I was also introduced to a new task which was doing news for the website. Basically in entails picking any media release or promotional content that is sent to our company and editing it for our own website and posting it. The process of this was quite similar to writing a review as the editing aspect was exactly the same. However, instead of writing your own review for a post, you use promotional information for the artist to create the post, which is a lot less time consuming.
I had a lot of fun this week learning about new tasks for the company and performing them. Although I absolutely love writing reviews, it was a nice change to try something different and expose myself to a little bit more of the organisations processes. My boss was extremely helpful in making sure I was comfortable and had enough knowledge to perform the new tasks.
End of Week 8
This week I had Fifth Harmony’s new album Fifth Harmony to review. I straight away learnt that there’s a difference between writing a review for an artist you love compared to an artist who may just seem like another work tasks. You feel like you owe your opinion and honest thoughts to the artist you love, where as if you don’t follow their career or music, you don’t feel the passion in your work explode as heavily. Although I put one hundred percent into every review I do, I wouldn’t be honest if I didn’t say the feeling is different between each review.
This week I also did a review for Taylor Swift’s comeback single Look What You Made Me Do. This was an extremely fun review to write about as the music video had received so much media attention. It gave me a really good opportunity to write about my side of the track and what I believe the messages are. I also continued with a few media releases for the news section of the website.

This week I felt really comfortable in achieving my weekly goals. I had another performance review with my boss and he just went over a few editing tips once again for the news section side of my tasks, where as he believed my reviews were edited to perfection. He was also expressing the fact that he was extremely happy with the way that I was writing and creating my work. I was really getting the hang of things and felt like I was fitting really nicely into the company.
End of Week 9
This week I had a live review for Ariana Grande at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne. This concert was so exceptional that I couldn’t wait to write about my experience. Each performance Ariana had showed one hundred percent effort and dedication and you couldn’t help but sing and dance along to every track. My review was probably the best review I believe I had written for the company. It was so natural to write and I feel like I really understood the concept of writing professionally now.
I also had a single review for ZAYN’s single Dusk Till Dawn featuring Sia. Once again, this was probably the best single review I had written for the company. I was so passionate and lost in writing this review as I really resonated with the song.
I was really learning to express all my emotions and pour it into my journalism, as I was so proud of the work I was achieving and the new skills I was learning along the way. Along with writing more for the news section this week, I really started to feel like a working man as if this was my life after university.
End of Week 10
For my last week, I finished off with a few single reviews. I did a review for Lorde’s remix to Homemade Dynamite featuring Post Malone, SZA and Khalid. It was such an interesting review to write because I had to incorporate the different perspectives within the track as there were four different artists singing on it.
I also wrote a review for Post Malone’s new single Rockstar featuring 21 Savage. As he was featured in the Lorde track I reviewed earlier in the week, it was kind of weird writing about the same artist but in a different light as his performance in each track was completely different. I had to learn to make sure that I wasn’t changing my tone on who I believed Post Malone was as an artist as I didn’t want to show two different opinions in the two reviews which could come across as non-researched and unprofessional.
Wrapping up my last week, I continued with my work for the news section along the days. It was nice and chill to finish off my last week with a workload that wasn’t as intense as previous weeks. I felt like the most important thing I learnt after working for Amnplify for ten weeks was that I was getting really comfortable with whatever was thrown my way. My writing skills had improved drastically, my editing and software skills had improved drastically, and more importantly, my media skills journalism was at a completely different level now.
