The library was quieter than usual, the usual hum of stressed-out law students replaced by the rhythmic scratching of pens and flipping of pages. You and Jeon Wonwoo had somehow claimed a table near the window—a rare truce in the ongoing cold war of your academic rivalry.

You weren’t entirely sure how it started. Maybe it was the time he answered a question in Contracts class before you could, perfectly articulating the rule of consideration in a way that had the professor beaming. Or maybe it was the time you aced your Civil Procedure exam, and he shot you that unreadable glance as he exited the lecture hall, his graded paper tucked discreetly under his arm. Somewhere along the line, though, it became a thing: Jeon Wonwoo vs. You.

You were loud, unabashed, and utterly relentless in debates. Wonwoo? Quiet, methodical, and terrifyingly sharp. It was as though the universe had handpicked you to be polar opposites, with one mutual goal: finishing top of the class.

It wasn’t just about ego—though you’d never admit how much satisfaction you felt when you won. For you, being at the top meant proving that your voice mattered, that you could command a room even in the cutthroat world of law. For him, you suspected it was different. Wonwoo worked with a quiet precision that seemed to come from something deeper, something you couldn’t quite place. He was impossible to read, and maybe that’s what frustrated you the most.

The rivalry only grew fiercer with time: whispered debates in the hallway after class, stolen glances at each other’s grades, the occasional sarcastic jab when you passed in the library. It had become a fixture of your law school experience.

So why were you here, sitting across from him in the library? That was another story.

It started two weeks ago, when the Professor of Legal Ethics—who clearly took pleasure in student suffering—had paired you two for a moot court assignment. The project was simple: argue a mock case against each other, with grades determined by individual performance.

You’d scoffed at the announcement. “Of course,” you muttered under your breath, just loud enough for him to hear.

He’d glanced at you, an amused glint in his eyes. “Don’t sound too excited.”

The idea of working with him—of watching him meticulously dismantle your arguments before you even had a chance to deliver them—should have been unbearable. But instead, you’d found yourself suggesting, “We should prep together. You know, scope out the competition.”

Wonwoo had hesitated, his lips twitching in what might have been amusement. “You’re offering to help me beat you?”

“Who said I’m helping you?” you’d shot back, grinning. “I just want to see if you’re as good as everyone says.”

Now here you were, begrudging study partners, buried under stacks of legal texts and sharing a tense but surprisingly comfortable silence. Except you couldn’t focus. Not because of the assignment—your case brief was flawless—but because of him.

Wonwoo, with his quiet determination, his maddening focus, and his infuriating ability to make your heart race with just a glance. You didn’t know when it started—when the rivalry began to feel less like competition and more like curiosity. When his sharp intelligence stopped annoying you and started fascinating you instead.

Maybe it was last week, when he had stayed late after your prep session, walking with you to the parking lot under the glow of the streetlights. The conversation had been light, easy—unexpectedly so. You’d caught him smiling, not his usual smirk but something softer, almost shy. It had lingered with you far longer than it should have.

Or maybe it was the other day, when you’d caught him lost in thought, glasses slipping down his nose as he scribbled something in the margins of his notebook. He had looked up at you then, catching you staring, and raised an eyebrow in question. You had blurted something incoherent about “legal precedents” before burying your face in your notes, your cheeks burning.

You were doomed.

Tonight wasn’t any better. He was scribbling furiously in his textbook, his pen tapping softly against the edge of the page. You should have been working on your counterarguments, but instead, you were folding a piece of notebook paper into an origami crane.

After a few moments, you slid the crane across the table to him. Wonwoo didn’t look up at first, too engrossed in his notes, but when the crane nudged his hand, he paused. His sharp eyes flicked to yours, and you gave him your best innocent smile.

He carefully unfolded the crane. Inside, in your bold handwriting, were the words: “Do you like me? Check yes or yes.” Below, you’d drawn two boxes, both labeled “yes,” along with a winking face for good measure.

Wonwoo blinked at the note, his expression unreadable. But then, his ears turned a shade of red so deep you could practically hear your heart screaming.

You stared, waiting, your pulse thundering in your ears. And then, to your surprise, he smirked.

Pulling out his pen, he checked one of the boxes. Then, with deliberate care, he tore off the bottom half of the paper, scribbled something, and slid it back to you.

You unfolded it, your chest tight with anticipation. Written in his small, neat handwriting was: “Can you quiet down now? I’m trying to focus.” Below it, he’d drawn a tiny, lopsided heart.

You laughed softly, shaking your head. “You’re impossible,” you murmured.

Wonwoo didn’t respond, but the pink flush creeping up his neck and the faint twitch of his lips told you everything you needed to know.

Somehow, the rivalry didn’t feel like a competition anymore.

First up is Kiryu Mitsuki from Wind Breaker!

⤜♡→ It doesn’t get better for a friends to lovers than Kiryu.

⤜♡→ The both of you much rather preferred the quiet to the loud bustling Bofurin gatherings. Often sticking to the back of the room, him scrolling mindlessly through his phone, one arm wrapped around you as you both shared a headphone to watch tiktoks together.

⤜♡→ He had initially approached you for the first time in the classroom where you both met. Seeing someone so beautiful sat all by herself was such a shame in his mind. He offered you that gentle smile as he asked if the spot next to you was taken. Kiryu couldn’t help but let his eyes wander over you constantly seeking you out in a crowd whenever you both were at Furin.

⤜♡→ You both had initially bonded over quiet teasing of Tsugeura in your quiet corner of the classroom, often exchanging text messages teasing the poor orange haired extrovert.

⤜♡→ Your friendship only developed from there it was a rare occasion for you both to not be seen without the other. So much so that the others we're fully under the impression you both were together long before you started dating.

Sakura's cheeks were always a constant shade of pink whenever in you and Kiryu's presence. Kiryu was very comfortable with physical touch his body always seeking out your won whenever you both were together. Whether it was his cheek resting atop your head, or his hand playing with your fingers, he loved feeling you against him.

Suo chuckles,, his signature mischievous grin dawning his features, loving nothing more than to tease his friends and hopefully push you both to confess. "Oh would you look at that." He grins leaning across the booth you were sat in, fingers intertwined delicately under his chin as he looked at you both. "It seems you both have set off Sakura's love detector yet again. "Come on Sakura, it's rude to intrude on a date, we'll be going now. See you both later.~" He sing songs, dragging a flustered Sakura away from you both, grin on his face.

Kiryu snorts into his mug, eyes turning to yours now that it was just the two of you left at the table. "So, angel, when are we gonna tell him he can stop trying to play his little game of matchmaker now that we've been dating for three months?" He snorts, leaning over to bump his nose with yours in a pseudo-kiss. His eyes light up at the grin you send back in his direction. Swearing he fell more in love with you as you returned his grin, leaning forward to give him a proper kiss, pulling away to smirk. "Let him figure it out on his own, let's see how long he keeps it going before he realizes."

Next up Is Kakucho from Tokyo Revengers!

⤜♡→ Kakucho has been through the ringer. He has a kind heart and so much love to give and I think you are the perfect candidate for all of his love and affection!

⤜♡→ Kakucho is a hopeless romantic, prizing building his friendships before relationships. He can only truly picture himself being with someone he has built a deep connection with before entering a relationship.

⤜♡→ The orphanage where he was raised was outside of city limits, and after years of being in gangs, I think Kakucho appreciates the serenity of nature. So with your favorite place being the forest, he often will set up a nice picnic for you both to enjoy the scenery and each other’s company.

He blinks, pulled from his trance as you offer him a finger dipped in the batter from the brownies you were prepping, Taking your finger into his mouth, he hums in delight from the sweet chocolaty confection. He smiles softly when you look up at him with those eyes he falls more in love with each day. “So Cho how does it taste?” His hands settle on your waist, turning you in his embrace, head dipping down low to press his lips against your own.

His hand cups the back of your neck as he deepens the kiss, his tongue finding its way into your mouth. The warm wet muscles dances with your own for a while, before he separates, string of saliva still connecting your lips for a moment before it snaps. “I dunno, honey, you tell me how it tastes.” He grins, kissing you once more as he chuckles thinking you looked nothing short of adorable with your pink cheeks and kiss-swollen lips. “It was delicious baby, I can't wait to pack them up in our basket for our date later.” He smiles wrapping his arms around you once more. Kakucho had spent most of his young life without a place to call his own after he lost his parents. But right here and now as he held you in his arms, he knew he had found his home. And that was anywhere where he could be with you. (a/n: I hope this was okay I haven't written for TR in YEARS, but this was just screaming at me and I needed to write it.)

The first thing you notice is the quiet. No alarms, no muffled hum of Jihoon’s phone buzzing from his nightstand. Just the slow, steady rhythm of his breathing beside you and the faint chill of the winter morning outside the cocoon of your shared duvet.

The sunlight filters in through the curtains, casting soft, golden light over the room. You stretch lazily, a small smile tugging at your lips when you feel the comforting weight of Jihoon’s arm slung over your waist. His grip is loose but warm, the kind of touch that speaks of trust even in his sleep.

You turn to face him, heart softening at the sight. Jihoon is still sound asleep, his face tucked slightly into the pillow. His hair is messy, tousled strands falling over his forehead, and the faintest trace of pink colors his cheeks. A black hairtie rests snugly on his wrist, the same one he always keeps there for you. The sight makes you smile—your dependable Jihoon, even when he doesn’t realize it.

It hits you just how long it’s been since you’ve woken up next to him like this. Between your long work hours and his packed schedule of practices, recordings, and meetings, mornings together had turned into fleeting dreams. Most of the time, you were already out the door when he woke, leaving hurried goodbye texts in your wake. On his end, alarms always meant rushing to a practice studio or preparing for an endless day ahead.

But today is different. No schedules. No alarms. Just you and him, here.

You shift closer, the quiet intimacy wrapping around you like a blanket. You can’t help yourself—you press a soft kiss to his cheek, then another to the corner of his mouth. His skin is warm, carrying the faintest scent of his shampoo.

Your lips find his temple next, then the tip of his nose, then the smooth plane of his forehead. Jihoon stirs, his brow furrowing slightly before his eyes flutter open.

“Morning,” you whisper, pressing another kiss to his jaw.

He hums in response, the low, groggy sound vibrating in his chest. His eyelids are heavy as he blinks at you, his expression hazy with sleep.

“What are you doing?” he mutters, his voice rough and muffled.

“Kissing you,” you reply simply, the corners of your lips quirking up.

He groans, his free hand coming up to rub at his face, though it does nothing to hide the blush blooming on his cheeks. “Do you need to be this...enthusiastic?”

“Do you need to be this grumpy?” you tease, leaning down to plant another kiss on the tip of his nose.

Jihoon lets out a soft sigh, turning his head just enough to glance at you through barely-open eyes. “I didn’t realize I needed to give you permission.”

His words make you laugh, a sound soft and light, like the morning itself. “Good,” you murmur against his skin, brushing your lips over his cheek again, “because I don’t need it.”

You catch the faintest twitch of a smile on his lips, though his blush deepens, spreading to the tips of his ears. The hairtie on his wrist catches your eye, and your heart squeezes. Even when you aren’t together, even when you’ve both spent more time apart than you’d like, he’s always thinking of you in these little ways.

“Seriously,” he mutters, voice low and a little flustered, “how many more of those are you planning on giving me?”

“Hmm,” you pretend to think, your lips hovering over his temple. “I guess until I run out of space.”

Jihoon groans again, but this time there’s no hiding the smile that’s threatening to take over his face. Before you can press another kiss, his arm tightens around your waist, and in one swift motion, he flips you onto your back.

“Hey!” you squeal, laughter spilling from your lips as he hovers over you, his face still tinged with that endearing shyness, but now accompanied by a glimmer of playful mischief.

“My turn,” he says simply, his voice soft and teasing, before leaning down to press kisses across your face.

He’s deliberate—your cheeks, your nose, your forehead, even your chin. Your giggles fill the room, his lips chasing them as if determined to capture each one.

“Jihoon!” you laugh, trying to squirm away, but his weight keeps you in place, warm and grounding.

“Hm?” he hums, brushing his lips over the bridge of your nose. “I didn’t realize I needed your permission either.”

You’re laughing too hard to reply, your chest light and full as his lips finally find yours in a soft, lingering kiss. When he pulls back, his smile is shy but genuine, his gaze filled with a quiet affection that makes your heart ache in the best way.

“Stay here,” he murmurs, brushing a strand of hair out of your face with his fingers.

You loop your arms around his neck, tugging him back down against you. “Wasn’t planning on going anywhere.”

And for the first time in what feels like forever, neither of you do.
