Once I cast Synaptic Static against the crew of an approaching pirate ship and THEN used the resulting d6 debuff to make most of the survivors fail on Bane the next round to which I say on the one hand as a DM I understand why Bless/Bane are frustrating but I could not deprive my players of that kind of high
