me in 2021: one thing I think limerick would know about felix is that sometimes if he gets really overwhelmed and needs to get away from people he goes and sits on the roof to be alone

friend: 🤩 wow... THEY sit on the roof.... as THEIR Special Spot, where they always meet up, every night, specifically and exclusively to hang out together 🥰

felix: [takes limerick aside early in the campaign and confides, with difficulty because he's ashamed about it, that he sometimes has trouble speaking at all, because he wants at least someone to have fair warning ahead of it possibly coming up if he's gonna be traveling in a group for any amount of time]

limerick the first time felix mostly loses speech: you've been really quiet, everything okay? do you have any thoughts to add [to this discussion]? :)

limerick last session when simon lowkey assigned felix to go do a social encounter: I'll go with you, to help with the talking :)

limerick as soon as we're in the social encounter: [looks directly at felix, expectantly]

#me: .......... okay I mean. felix can just go sit on a different building if he needs to be ALONE alone. it's fine.#but also hoo boy setting a tone early fgkjhdkj #my INTENTION WAS!! they meet and bond via casually hanging out in the tavern sometimes #but they're close enough friends that limerick has Caught felix on the roof and is now in on that fact about him #and maybe sometimes sits with him :) quietly :) because this is the Overwhelmed Quiet Time Space but limerick can be a safe person :)#jill: oh yes I see! the roof is where limerick will go to talk to felix A Lot. 'that's where they meet up' is the whole point actually 😌#the thing is misunderstandings like this are only revealed to ME in bits and pieces in ways that make them hard for me to correct #never a good clear opportunity to go 'oh-- no I'm sorry let me clarify' it's always too late by the time I fully realize what's happened #uh but anyway yeah 'limerick will actively insert himself in situations in the opposite way felix needs him to' is a pattern lol #which is FINE and also FUN AND INTERESTING in theory but AGAIN very awkward knowing that's just his player irl aahah
