Scenes when the "no clear priority in car development and on track strategy will most definitely win us the wcc" philosophy proves to be so successful you almost end up 3rd in constructors instead

Hunt 102 and Hunt Drawing 99 nibs, maybe Joseph Gillott's Ultra Fine 303 too. I forget. The 99 (used mostly in the bottom panel) is interesting; flexible brass, almost handles like a brush with how varied the weights get. I had a hard time controlling it here, but this was only a test/doodle run anyway.
My nibs are beat to shit. Tempted to run up to the art store and grab a bunch of random ones to try out. They're like $0.99 each.

I wanted to redo my attempt at drawing Dess Holiday. But she seems more "stereotypical deer person" here, so this may just be a practice on anthropomorphic characters.

John Seed is a comfort character for some people. Folks like to ship him with their deputies or craft redemption arcs for him.
There's nothing wrong with that, obviously.
But I just can't wrap my head around it.
There's nothing comforting about the way John Seed treated Joey Hudson. I don't understand why the ordeal she went through doesn't seem to matter to fans of his.
She was bait for the rookie deputy and nothing more, because she wasn't going to give in and join the cult.
He terrorized Joey and the rest of Fall's End, stooping to the lowest, most inhumane levels to get his way. Some even theorize that he hurt the "sinners" in his care just because he wanted to, for malicious, sadistic reasons that didn't have anything to do with the cult. At worst, some people go as far as to speculate that he raped Joey.
It's easy to see why someone might come to that conclusion. The way he acts is deplorable and he makes everything feel extremely personal, sometimes in ways that can be interpreted as sexually charged. He'll do anything in order to get his way because "no" is antithetical to him. He regularly flies off the handle, so much so that Joseph is threatening to cast him out. All the touching and getting right up in the player's face is so uncomfortable and obsessive (which is the point, but I digress).
So why does he get to be redeemed and venerated by fans? Don't his actions warrant consequences?
Are people willing to let him off the hook because he's attractive? Because he had a horrible, abusive childhood? Obviously he's got a lot more lore than most of the cast. Is that something people are interested in exploring for him over other characters?
I'm not trying to come after anyone personally. There's nothing wrong with liking villains and Jacob, Faith, and Joseph have also done terrible things to innocent people.
Which is like, fine. It's a video game.
And I know that John, like Joey, is a victim of Ubisoft's choppy, inconsistent writing and storytelling. Things got changed and swapped and cut during development that got us to where we are, with the story we have. Flaws and all, not like it was ever going to be perfect.
But in my opinion, I feel like the adoration for John does a huge disservice to Joey. People make thirsty edits of him while she's literally tied up behind him. It's tasteless and makes the optics of her situation look even creepier.
Her pain has largely been ignored for as long as the game has existed. I can't for the life of me figure out why.

Mouthwashing and the way the fandom is treating Curly is really killing me, because it really unearthed my burried thoughts that my abuser and his bff are still running together and how his bff did nothing and actually lifted him up and said "You're such a nice guy, this was a one-time thing, you did it because she pushed you to the limit", ignoring the years of abuse this guy inflicted on me, just because they were friends, peers, same-minded people. The way he stood there watching and listening to the acts of abuse he did to me, just casually saying sometimes, "You're going too far". Not even when he did the unthinkable did he stop being his friend. The most he did was listen to me, just to go over my back and tell him everything, so he could help him get better and get me back. In the end, had to escape from both of them. In the end, his bff is still seen as a really nice guy that was trying to help the both of us.
Anyways
It's such a good game, the way it can capture, both in game and the way people interact with it, how the enablers are still seen as "good people", when they are just as bad as the actual abusers. They just didn't commit the actual act of abuse
I am so glad I could escape and that I'm not stuck on a ship for 8 months with them

while i do love the angst of "Hoffman entered the crushing room prepared to tranquilize Strahm or otherwise force him into the glass coffin knowing that he would be crushed as a form of sacrifice" but i feel like it's missing something, like a. the trap doesn't start instantly, so while it would admittedly be tricky, you hypothetically could throw someone into the coffin and hustle out before the door closed, especially if you know that's how it works, like Strahm could have saved himself if he hadn't stayed to gloat (and there is something to be said about how his desire to watch Hoffman suffer and/or die in a trap is what ultimately dooms him and how, tbh, he could have been an interesting apprentice) and b. if Hoffman had tranquilized Strahm... he wouldn't need to put him in the coffin? Like he could have just taken him to wherever he was planning on taking him like he did with the drowning cube

I like what I like/want to see and you like what you like/want to see, and I will never attack you if those are differing opinions, especially when it comes to fiction.

i like the way you respect other ships it's really nice
/mod
Thank you! I try to be as respectful as possible, I ship a lot of rarepairs myself and I know how it feels when someone goes "ewwww but like aren't they both already in canon relationships?" Yeah, I know that, and also they're fictional characters? Also they're battling their inner demons and one just broke his arm, I don't think they're all that worried about people shipping them with a person they're not dating.
However ships I will NOT tolerate are incest or pedophilia ones. (Ex: David x Brenda or Harry x Jackson) Ship those ones (or ones along those lines), and I will be your personal escort to hell.
And thank you again
