Moroccan Desert Meets Modern Palm Springs at the Sands Hotel & Spa

Pink, on pink, on pink! If you love the rosy hue as much as we do, you’re in for a treat! Today’s modern Palm Springs editorial gets a major dose of Moroccan-inspired flair at the Sands Hotel & Spa! Featuring real-life married couple, Alexandra + Madison, Loie Photography wanted to capture an imaginary place—somewhere where the dry desert meets the lush jungle.

Brett of Loie Photography shares: Somewhere deep in the Moroccan desert sits a fabulous private oasis that was built to shelter travelers from the desert heat. Cacti and tropical greenery intermingle with the painted pink exterior and muted desert tones. The interior is filled with boldly patterned wall coverings, treasures from near and far, and a fabulous mix of tiles and patterns.

Imaginary or not…we want to go! And so designer Jason Lloyd created just the place! Ready to see all the fantastical details? Let’s look!

The Details

A stunning invitation suite by Bourne Paper Co. crafted a minimal invitation suite, with the pattern inspired by the wallpaper  of the Pink Cabana Restaurant, and the overall palette complementing the muted desert tones.

Talk about glam! These Bella Belle Shoes are a serious statement and we kinda sorta LOVE them.

The Ceremony Space

Holy SMOKES!

Can’t. Stop. Staring.

The metal rose gold chairs from Collective Rentals acted as a perfect accent for the pink exterior wall and the black door of the spa. Combined with the floral design from Salt Road + the crisp lines of the building, we are over the moon with this design concept!

The Sweethearts

Isn’t that floral Marchesa gown from Kinsley James Couture Bridal an absolute DREAM?

Madison and Alexandra eloped while wearing ripped jeans and t-shirts, so when they expressed interest in modeling for our shoot we couldn’t wait to give them the a well-designed day that perfectly matched their styles and personalities.

Madison wore her own blazer from The Kooples and black studded shoes from Zadig & Voltaire. Talk about a rockin’ look!

The Florals

Isn’t this the prettiest bunch of posies to juxtapose the darker contrasts of the day? Well done, Salt Road! We really adore how the team mixed the light styling with touches of edgy rocker.

The Lounge

Grab a cocktail and hang in this darling lounge! (Also, we totally want some of those pieces for our home!)

The stunning lounge setting was provided by Collective Rentals and fit the location the overall aesthetic perfectly. Set against a pink exterior wall, this inviting lounge looks as if it has always been there, which was exactly the point.

Bourne Paper Co. crafted escort cards to fit the retro vibe of the property, and, for a fun twist: Jason Lloyd crafted the backdrop to mimic the numerous valet stands and cool doors seen throughout the Palm Springs area.

The Tablescape

For the luxe table setting, it was all about the idea of more is more! Framed by the Pink Cabana Restaurant, the green and white checkered tiles were reflected in the rose gold chairs, truly fusing the two design elements together.

We’re are living for this dusty rose velvet linen from La Tavola.

The table was adorned with tons of Moroccan-inspired pieces from Signature Party Rentals, along with modern Ikebana-inspired florals.

The textured cake by Mwokaji Cakery rounds out the shoot nicely, calling on the black + white elements of the editorial and architectural lines of the property. Pretty neat, isn’t it?

How was that for a cross between Morocco and Palm Springs? We certainly couldn’t stop staring at all the gorgeous details! A huge thank you to the talented team of creatives that put this together!
