might I ask for a handful of just random cod trivia ..
and/or ! just your thoughts on the games and reboots, if you’re comfy w that?
I feel like you always have some random notes or tags about weird trivia in the game but obviously this isn’t specific At All so feel free to just ignore this if it’s weird sjdndjhd
Hi! no this isn't weird 🥺 I think what gives this impression is "just" that I played most of said games a lot and got interested in the lore that's not necessarily accessible to people who, big quotation marks, are superficially in the fandom. as in people who aren't interested in multiplayer or secondary gamemodes, let alone lore and are more focused on the main cast or one particular mp character (such as könig)
This got VERY long so, my rambles and opinions about the Modern Warfare games and their reboots below.
I played mw2 and mw3's campaigns in 2010-2013. I wasn't playing multiplayer at the time, I started it with BO4 in 2018. But I fell hard into MW's multiplayer with the first reboot, mw19, in early 2020.
Just so that my words have a bit of "the player's weight": I have around 900 hours on mw19, 400 on MWII and I believe 200-300 on MWIII.
Regarding campaigns: Call of duty is Call of duty. It's literally funded by the US army. it's blatant propaganda, and I expect no less when I run a campaign. With that being said, what I expect from a CoD campaign is either being over-the-top and extra (like the original trilogy and in some ways MWIII specifically), or rooted in reality and wanna be serious like mw19. This is minding the blatant history 'rewriting' it's doing (eg. chemical attacks in syria, highway of death mission). My honest opinion on it is that the reboots don't know what they want and it's especially visible in MWII. In my opinion, the original games nailed that "american action movie" feel that the reboots kinda lost by instead veering towards something overlapping with real-life maybe a bit too much while still wanting to include crazy shit. Like, I don't think it's a balance that can work. I do like that we had more character development with MWII and it felt fun to play (in that regard I have no complaints, and I even liked the semi-open missions that a lot of ppl disliked), but it feels a bit less like call of duty. I'll be curious to see what direction they take for the next MW game, but I sure hope IW get their shit together and have a clear direction.
Transitioning to multiplayer with that. This feeling that the MW games are now an amalgamation of things sewn together hastily started with the Warzone fusion and the BOCW implementation. It became especially visible in multiplayer with the addition of crossover bundles, providing less and less "mil-sim" skins, and it was obvious that by MWIII IW would step away and let other developers (treyarch, SHG, which are both turned more towards arcade gameplay) take over the multiplayer development. Which is kinda insane: MW was always Infinity Ward's flasgship initially.
In my opinion the MW multiplayer started feeling different (in my eyes, falling off) for 3 reasons:
Catering to a younger playerbase, notably the "tiktok crowd": younger gamers want games that are incredibly fast-paced (mirroring their use of social media and those yknow "adhd videos") and like extremely flashy skins. Therefore, they'll spend money to get them. I'm not saying this to say "it's bad!" it's just an observation
The absolute success of mobile games and fortnite-like collaborations. This is mostly due to the current way people "consume" social media and games, with everything being quick and instant and fleeting. The sheer impact that these two things have had on video games as a whole is absolutely insane: they started adding microtransactions in games because it started on mobile & they realised that if you let people buy skins with real money w the press of a button, spendings increase tenfold. Same goes with the battle pass model: it's incredibly lucrative.
Crunch, changes of leadership, writers and artists probably being allowed less communication and therefore focus; and, in MWIII's case, the arrival of AI giving us some tasteless slop in cosmetics. That they sell. For real money.
I've said it countless time but I really regret mw19 multiplayer's artistic and narrative direction. It had a story that's completely absent from MWII where characters are just empty shells with a few lines of marvel-like, mary-sue grade bios. Where's the cohesive story? Where are the outwardly morally grey or flawed characters, the sub-squads, the interaction lines, the bundles that made sense with the characters' backstories?...
Long story short, I don't know if the MW series will ever go back to what made it MW. I hope so, but seeing how between 2020 and 2024 the multiplayer entirely lost its soul & the campaigns don't know what they want to show, I'm afraid it might either never come back or take a dozen years so that a reboot of reboots gets out or a new series takes over.
'til capitalism and cashgrab leadership ruins it again and the cycle begins anew.
#könig being included by the fandom in the 141 could be funny to me if ppl didn't make him replace gaz#sigh.#call of duty#cod lore#ask#SORRY this is just rambles no trivia.......

Finally finished the damn thing. I kept some notes but they all boil down to one point: the turnaround for this game must have been no more than six months. Nine maximum. And it shows.
I don't even know where to start. The scripting, the pacing, and the entire plot were slapshod. And it's almost as if the game refuses to make sense for the sake of contrarianism; it feels like it would accuse me of being stupid for not getting why everyone likes Rick and Morty. I could evaluate it plot beat for plot beat but I'm on four hours of sleep and frankly? I'd like to move on with my life. This is a demon I've meant to exorcise for months and the damn thing is nearly out of me. So here are my main points.
The script is heavy handed. It's like every line the actors spit out around a mouthful of gravel were written first to be trailer soundbytes and second to be dialogue. No one talks the way these characters talk, not in real life and certainly not in the games they've starred in previously. It's all workable enough, if you're thirteen and playing this game with one hand on the controller and the other around your penis, but for the rest of the population it's pure schlock.
Makarov is a nothing burger of a villain. We are constantly—CONSTANTLY—told how dangerous he is, how competent he, is how brilliant he is, and yet every scene he's in I fail to be compelled. He is the most generic of megalomaniacal idealogues; every villain speech he gives sounds like tumblr dom dirty talk, or maybe reddit whining. I can't help but compare him to Valeria of Modern Warfare 2. In very few scenes, Valeria compels us with the force of her personality; she owns every interaction she inhabits, shows us that she is every bit the bloodthirsty narco we've been told she is. It's easy to believe the she could have accomplished everything she did. Makarov, meanwhile? The most he does is tell everyone how stupid they are and how he's going to win in the end.
Nothing new happens. Makarov is engaging in chemical warfare like MW2019's Barkov. Every gameplay map is lifted from MW2's multiplayer. The ULF is being scapegoated again for terrorism committed by Russian forces. Even Graves and his fucking missiles are in this game. I have the strongest feeling that this game was developed entirely in crunch, with so little time to write it that treading old ground was the only way the writing team could meet their deadlines. The only exception to this is Soap's death, which honestly gave the impression that the writers needed to make SOMETHING dramatic happen, if only to defibrillate an audience that had not been marketed to enough to even be all that interested in this game.
In all I shouted "FUCK OFF" at this game multiple times. I can count on one hand the number of things I liked about this campaign and I really, truly could not tell you what those things are right now because my brain is fried. The result of less than a year of development is an amateurish second draft of a game that I've thought of more than once as a lost orgasm. Briefly, before I spent these five hours watching and reacting (and pausing to take ibuprofen), I considered trying my hand at doing a basic plot rewrite, but it is not. Worth. It.
I stand by what I suggested earlier this year/late last year—the game should have ended with Price's death—but now on the other end of this experience I don't care enough about MW3 to give it that kind of dignity. I'll sign off this review with what I've been saying since the start:
DON'T BUY THESE FUCKING GAMES.

Treyarch gotta take notes from Capcom
Capcom makes beautiful, stunning, majestic, actually fun games—FOR 20-30 GB. Currently playing the RE2 Remake and brother. It’s a great game, even as somebody that isn’t huge into story games with puzzles. Anyways—Black ops 6 campaign? Like 60-80gb. For a rather mid story and general gameplay.
You could argue I guess: “Resident Evil doesn’t stem from a multiplayer experience”, which fair- but also Resident Evil Re:Verse. Though a now shut down game(i think), shit was only like 15gb.
Idk, I just find it stupid that like 400gb of my Xbox’s 800gb is taken up by Call of Duty and all I have is mw3 campaign, mw2 campaign(I might have it uninstalled), bo6 campaign and Warzone. And I have RE8, RE2, RE3 for like 80gb give or take

(No shade to anybody, this isn’t hate either. I love Call of Duty games to pieces and very much appreciate them. It’s just a little infuriating when I go to download something or get a capture and it’s like “OP, YOU’RE OUT OF STORAGE” then I go to clear up space and I have nothing I can delete)

Sorry if this is wildly off topic for your blog but I saw you played black ops 6 and I was just wondering what you thought of it? I haven't played any of the black ops games, only modern warfare so I don't know whether or not I want to try it.
Loving the red ribbon btw, can't wait to read the ending!! ❤️❤️
Oh, no, honestly it's fine, I'm all for people wanting to talk about pieces of media I mention on here whether it's books, movies or games! I'm just sorry I completely spaced on answering this question when you sent it.
Because I don't know how many people who follow me care about video games, I'll put my thoughts below the cut.
So, first and foremost, I've not really played a lot of the Black Ops games either. In fact the only CoD games I've played are MW1, MW2, Black Ops Cold War, and now Black Ops 6.
I don't think you really need to know much about the other BO games to enjoy BO6 - there are a couple of characters (Adler and Woods) who have been in other games and are important in the franchise, but everything you need to know to enjoy the game is in there.
In terms of game play, I think BO6 is the best I've played? MW always feels more like you're charging around shooting everything that moves, where as BO6 you can stealth and snipe, which is more my style of play. And the levels are so varied. There's a whole part in the middle that almost turns the game into a survival horror and it's amazing (some people seem to hate it for not being 'CoD' enough, but I genuinely thought it was the best part of the game - it had like Control/Alan Wake vibes). So, in terms of gameplay and fun, I really enjoyed it. The plot has a couple of little issues, but I still enjoyed that too.
However, I don't play any of the online/zombies/multiplayer stuff so I have no opinion on that, but I do know that they've been having massive issues, so if that side of it is what you're into, then maybe give it a couple more months to see if things get fixed or not.
But I will say, because Activision are kind of a shitty company, maybe try to pick the game up discounted or second hand if you can.

Underrated Gems- Part 1
For the next few blogs ive decided to create a new series called "Underrated Gems" . This series will focus on video games that in my opinion deserve a certain spotlight. For our first game lets rewind back to the august of 2013 when a certain company called Activision was just sweeping the gaming scene with the golden age of gaming from call of duty modern warfare to Cod Black ops 2. Then One game software ( the same ones responsible for the og modern warfare scene) called "Infinity Ward "decided to create a sort of post apocolyptic Setting for cod and created Call Of Duty Ghosts.
This blog will not contain any spoiler regarding the main story ofthe game because if any of you guys get a chance i highly encourage you all to play the campaign. Though ill just say one thing if you havent seen the campaign id suggest watching a walkthrough of someone on youtube.
This game revolutionized the cod era as it was the first to bring female soldiers in the game a staple that is still in used in cod even now, it had some of the best DLC like the Michael Myers/ Halloween DLC
It also included one of the most beloved weapon in the game i.e the honey badger and it included one of my favorite cod mode called extraction in short imagine cod zombies if it had a story and instead of zombies we fought aliens.
The main reason this game got soo much hate was due to its multiplayer. Quoting a user "
Honestly this game gets way too much hate. I play it on PS3- so bear in mind it may be different on other versions, but given that you can get it pretty cheap at second hand retailers its a pretty good package. It has one of the best COD Campaigns to date, with a really well-designed dystopia setting, and looks pretty damn good for a 6 year old game. There's a new mode, called extinction, which is not groundbreaking or as masterful as the campaign, but is a fun experience that should keep you occupied for an hour or two before you get bored. The Multiplayer is where the flaws start to show. Now, servers can be hard, but you can still play it split-screen or against bots. The Maps are very large, and have some really cool and good-looking designs (although I would recommend getting the season pass), but they are very large and don't flow as well as you would like, and added to the very fast time to kill, this game favours snipers or more mid-range weapons, and while this is not a bad playing type, it does mean that it is way more constricting and less well-rounded than some of the other games like WaW or MW2. Nevertheless, although the play style is unavoidable, you can still enjoy it and as I said earlier, the maps don't flow that great but have some truly awesome designs, especially in DLC. Overrall Ghosts is a good package with a great campaign and decent other modes, and I would recommend trying it."
I think that says it all about this game.

MW2 VPN latency analysis
Title: Analyzing Latency Issues with MW2 VPN Connections
Modern Warfare 2 (MW2) has long been a beloved title in the gaming community, known for its fast-paced action and intense multiplayer battles. However, like many online games, MW2 can suffer from latency issues that can negatively impact the gaming experience. One potential solution that players often turn to is using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to improve their connection stability and reduce latency. But does using a VPN actually help in this regard? Let's delve into the analysis.
Latency, often referred to as ping, is the time it takes for data to travel from your device to the game server and back again. High latency can result in lag, delayed responses, and ultimately, frustration for players. By routing your connection through a VPN server, you may be able to achieve a more direct and stable connection to the game server, thereby reducing latency.
However, the effectiveness of using a VPN for MW2 latency reduction can vary depending on several factors. Firstly, the distance between your physical location, the VPN server, and the game server plays a significant role. Connecting to a VPN server closer to the game server may result in better latency improvements.
Additionally, the quality and capacity of the VPN server can impact performance. Overloaded or poorly maintained VPN servers may introduce additional latency rather than reducing it. Therefore, choosing a reliable VPN provider with a robust network infrastructure is crucial for achieving optimal results.
Furthermore, network congestion and routing inefficiencies can still occur even when using a VPN. While a VPN may help mitigate some latency issues, it's not a guaranteed solution for all connectivity problems. Players should also consider other factors such as their internet connection speed and network stability.
In conclusion, while using a VPN for MW2 gaming sessions may offer some latency reduction benefits, its effectiveness depends on various factors. Players should experiment with different VPN servers and configurations to find the optimal setup for their specific circumstances. Additionally, maintaining a stable internet connection and minimizing network congestion are essential for a smooth gaming experience.
Optimizing MW2 gameplay with VPN
Title: Enhance Your MW2 Gameplay: The Benefits of Using a VPN
Are you an avid Modern Warfare 2 (MW2) player looking to optimize your gaming experience? Incorporating a Virtual Private Network (VPN) into your gameplay strategy could be the key to unlocking a smoother, more secure gaming environment.
Here’s how utilizing a VPN can elevate your MW2 experience:
Reduced Lag and Ping Times: One of the most frustrating aspects of online gaming is dealing with lag and high ping times, which can significantly hinder your performance in MW2. By connecting to a VPN server closer to the game's server location, you can potentially reduce latency and enjoy smoother gameplay.
Protection Against DDoS Attacks: Unfortunately, MW2 is not immune to Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, which can disrupt your connection and kick you out of matches. By routing your internet traffic through a VPN, you can mask your IP address and add an extra layer of protection against potential DDoS attacks from other players.
Access Geo-Restricted Content: Some MW2 players may encounter geo-restrictions that limit their access to certain servers or game content based on their geographical location. With a VPN, you can bypass these restrictions by connecting to servers in different regions, allowing you to access a wider range of game features and servers.
Protect Your Privacy: In the world of online gaming, privacy and security are paramount. By encrypting your internet connection with a VPN, you can safeguard your personal information and gaming activity from potential hackers or third-party surveillance.
In conclusion, integrating a VPN into your MW2 gameplay strategy can offer a variety of benefits, including reduced lag, enhanced security, and access to geo-restricted content. Whether you’re a casual player or a competitive gamer, optimizing your gaming experience with a VPN is a smart choice.
Impact of VPN on MW2 latency
Title: Understanding the Impact of VPNs on Modern Warfare 2 Latency
In the fast-paced world of online gaming, milliseconds can make all the difference between victory and defeat. Modern Warfare 2 (MW2), a popular first-person shooter game, demands split-second reactions and precise timing from players. However, many gamers face latency issues that can disrupt their gaming experience. One potential solution that players often turn to is a Virtual Private Network (VPN).
A VPN works by routing your internet connection through a remote server, encrypting your data and masking your IP address. While VPNs offer benefits such as enhanced security and privacy, their impact on gaming latency is a subject of debate among gamers.
When it comes to MW2, using a VPN can have both positive and negative effects on latency. On one hand, connecting to a VPN server closer to the game server can reduce the distance your data travels, potentially improving latency and reducing lag. Additionally, VPNs can bypass network congestion and routing issues, providing a smoother gaming experience.
However, VPNs can also introduce additional latency due to the encryption and decryption processes involved. Connecting to a VPN server further away from the game server can increase latency, negating any potential benefits. Furthermore, not all VPN providers offer optimized servers for gaming, which can further exacerbate latency issues.
Ultimately, the impact of a VPN on MW2 latency depends on various factors such as server location, network congestion, and the quality of the VPN service. Gamers should experiment with different VPN servers and configurations to determine the optimal setup for minimizing latency while maintaining security and privacy. While VPNs can potentially improve MW2 latency under the right circumstances, they are not a guaranteed solution and may require careful configuration and testing.

can you get banned for using vpn on mw2
MW2 VPN ban consequences
Getting banned from Modern Warfare 2 (MW2) due to using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) can have serious consequences for players. With the rise of VPNs being used by gamers to change their location and access restricted content, many players have found themselves facing bans from online games like MW2.
When a player is caught using a VPN in MW2, they risk being banned from the game entirely. This means losing access to multiplayer gameplay, progression, and in-game purchases. Additionally, being banned from MW2 can result in a tarnished reputation within the gaming community, as cheaters are often frowned upon.
Furthermore, VPN bans in MW2 can also lead to restrictions on other games connected to the same platform or account. For instance, if a player is banned from MW2 on their Steam account for using a VPN, they may also face limitations in other games that are tied to their Steam profile.
In some cases, players may appeal their ban by explaining why they were using a VPN and providing evidence that they were not cheating or manipulating the game unfairly. However, the success rate of these appeals can vary, and many players find themselves permanently banned from MW2 despite their efforts.
In conclusion, getting banned from MW2 due to using a VPN can have significant repercussions on a player's gaming experience and online reputation. It is essential for players to be aware of the consequences of using VPNs in online games and to abide by the rules set forth by game developers to avoid facing bans and penalties.
Prohibited VPN usage MW2
Using a VPN while playing Modern Warfare 2, also known as MW2, is a topic that has sparked debates within the gaming community. While VPNs are legitimate tools that can provide privacy and security benefits, their usage in gaming, particularly MW2, can lead to severe consequences.
Infinity Ward, the developer of MW2, strictly prohibits the use of VPNs in the game. Players found using VPNs may face various penalties, such as being banned from online multiplayer matches or even having their accounts suspended. The reason behind this prohibition is to maintain a fair and level playing field for all gamers. When a player uses a VPN, it can alter their connection and give them an unfair advantage over others, known as 'lag switching.'
Furthermore, the use of VPNs in MW2 can also lead to issues with matchmaking and server connections. Since VPNs can mask a player's actual location, it may result in higher latency, increased lag, and disrupt the overall gaming experience for both the user and other players in the lobby.
In conclusion, while VPNs are valuable tools for many purposes, including online privacy and security, their usage in MW2 is strongly discouraged and prohibited. Players are advised to abide by the game's terms of service and refrain from using VPNs to ensure fair gameplay and avoid potential penalties. It is essential to respect the rules set by the game developers and maintain integrity in the gaming community.
Modern Warfare 2 VPN restrictions
Modern Warfare 2, released in 2009, remains a popular choice for gamers seeking an action-packed first-person shooter experience. However, some players may encounter VPN restrictions when attempting to connect to multiplayer servers.
VPN, short for Virtual Private Network, is a tool used to enhance online privacy and security by routing internet traffic through a remote server. While VPNs can be beneficial for anonymity and bypassing geo-restrictions, they are sometimes prohibited by game developers to prevent cheating or accessing servers from unauthorized regions.
In the case of Modern Warfare 2, VPN restrictions may be in place to maintain fair gameplay and prevent potential exploits. When a player uses a VPN to mask their actual location or manipulate their connection to the game servers, it can disrupt the balance of the gameplay environment and give them an unfair advantage over others.
Players encountering VPN restrictions in Modern Warfare 2 may find themselves unable to connect to multiplayer matches or experiencing lag and disconnections. To avoid running into these issues, it is advisable to play the game without a VPN and adhere to the developer's terms of service.
While VPNs can offer benefits in many online activities, including gaming, it is essential for players to be aware of any potential restrictions or guidelines set by game developers to ensure a smooth and fair gaming experience for all.
Using VPN on MW2 penalties
Title: Maximizing Security and Avoiding Penalties: How VPNs Enhance MW2 Gameplay
In the realm of online gaming, especially in the competitive landscape of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (MW2), players often seek every advantage to elevate their performance. However, with great competition comes the risk of encountering penalties or restrictions imposed by game developers or platform administrators. One effective tool that MW2 enthusiasts employ to mitigate such risks and enhance their gaming experience is a Virtual Private Network (VPN).
By utilizing a VPN while playing MW2, players can safeguard their online privacy and security. VPNs encrypt internet traffic, creating a secure connection between the user and the VPN server. This encryption prevents unauthorized parties, including hackers or malicious actors, from intercepting sensitive data such as IP addresses, thereby reducing the likelihood of targeted attacks or breaches.
Moreover, VPNs enable players to bypass geographical restrictions and access MW2 servers from regions where the game may not be readily available or where access is restricted. This flexibility empowers gamers to connect to servers with lower latency, resulting in smoother gameplay and reduced lag, crucial factors in fast-paced games like MW2 where split-second decisions can determine victory or defeat.
Additionally, VPNs offer an added layer of protection against Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, a common tactic employed by disgruntled opponents to disrupt an opponent's gaming experience by flooding their network connection. By masking their true IP address with that of the VPN server, players can effectively shield themselves from potential DDoS attacks, ensuring uninterrupted gameplay sessions.
However, it's essential for MW2 players to exercise caution and adhere to the game's terms of service while using a VPN. Some gaming platforms prohibit the use of VPNs, and engaging in activities such as cheating or exploiting vulnerabilities in the game's infrastructure can still result in penalties or bans, regardless of VPN usage.
In conclusion, integrating a VPN into one's MW2 gaming setup offers numerous benefits, including enhanced security, reduced latency, and protection against DDoS attacks. By leveraging this technology responsibly, players can elevate their gaming experience while minimizing the risk of penalties or restrictions.
VPN detection in MW2
In the gaming community, particularly within the realm of first-person shooters like Modern Warfare 2 (MW2), the use of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) has become a hotly debated topic. MW2, a classic title known for its intense multiplayer action, has seen a resurgence in popularity, leading to concerns about fair play and cheating.
VPNs, traditionally used for online privacy and security, have found a new niche within the gaming world. Some players utilize VPNs to mask their true location and IP address, which can help them evade bans or access region-locked content. However, in MW2, VPNs are also being employed for a different purpose: to avoid detection and penalties for cheating.
The use of cheats and hacks in MW2 is unfortunately not uncommon. These illicit practices can ruin the gaming experience for others and undermine the integrity of the game. In response, developers have implemented various anti-cheat measures to detect and punish cheaters.
One such measure involves detecting VPN usage. By analyzing network traffic, MW2's anti-cheat system can identify when players are using VPNs to conceal their activities. Upon detection, appropriate actions can be taken, ranging from temporary bans to permanent account suspensions.
While some players argue that using VPNs is a legitimate way to protect their privacy and security, others believe that it unfairly advantages cheaters and disrupts the gaming experience for everyone else. Ultimately, the ongoing battle between players and anti-cheat systems highlights the evolving nature of online gaming and the challenges developers face in maintaining a fair and enjoyable environment for all.

CoD Notes: MW2 Started
I had time this weekend to still knock out the first act of MW2 even after finishing BRO and doing MW1 start to finish! And wasting a bit of time on 3 and RoV.
I was expecting MW2 to feel or look a bit rough when played right after the MW1 Remaster (I’m saving WaW for coop) but I wasn’t accounting for the extreme power of nostalgia kicking in. I haven’t touched the campaign of this game in over a decade so playing it really unlocks some latent memories, like how much “stay frosty” from Foley stuck in my head.
I was very proud to get a recommended difficulty of hardened after running the training course, but I did still opt to go for regular difficulty just so I don’t get too bogged down in any one game here. The first real mission was kind of fun to just get all the nostalgia but the real kicker was doing Cliffhanger, the snowy mission. This really stuck with me as a kid even if I didn’t understand who “Captain MacTavish” was back then. I think I had only the loosest idea of the plot when I did this as a kid.
Anyways, this game is so bombastic and over the top that a lot of it still holds up, at least for me. Detonating the bombs in Cliffhanger to get a slowmo shootout and then the snowmobile escape sequence are both intensely thrilling.
Side note: I don’t remember the actual combat portions of No Russian being so hard. Shield guys are hard to take down! And of course the actual massacre portion hit me a lot harder as an adult than as a kid, although I think my parents made me skip this level as a kid, but I had already done it at a classmate’s house on his PS3.
Oh, and then the Favela mission is just…okay. It was kind of annoying to have to check the corners and roofs and windows so much. But the part later where the US get invaded also hits a lot harder as an adult, I think I just wasn’t paying attention to the cutscenes as a kid because I don’t remember being alarmed at all by the suburban war fighting.
Still currently in the middle of “Wolverines!”, that first mission of Act 2. Just hit the first major break in fighting on the burger town rooftop. Oh, speaking of, crazy that Keith David is in this so much! Especially since I played so much Halo 3 immediately before getting into this game as a kid and never noticed. Also wild that Bishop from Aliens is Shepherd! I never knew that and his voice is great. I mostly otherwise know him as Marcus’s owner in Detroit Become Human.
Definitely excited to keep plowing through this campaign, and this might be the first multiplayer I really wanna dive deep into since I don’t have my Xbox copy of WaW (I have the pc version which is fine but doesn’t have my old progress or the same classic feeling)
Oh, also I thought it was very funny to hear Keith David explain to me how to abuse the snap-to-target on ADS by repeatedly going in and out of ADS. Very indicative of the gameplay-first design of these games. Oh, and take a drink every time these games say “switching to a pistol is always faster than reloading”. You’ll only drink about once a game but that’s better than nothing.
