चैतन्य भारत न्यूज हर साल 15 सितंबर को पूरे देश में 'इंजीनियर दिवस' मनाया जाता है। यह दिन भारत के महान इंजीनियर और भारत रत्न डॉ. मोक्षगुंडम विश्वेश्वरैया को समर्पित है। दरअसल 15 सितंबर को डॉ. मोक्षगुंडम विश्वेश्वरैया का जन्म हुआ था। वह न सिर्फ अच्छे इंजीनियर थे बल्कि वह अर्थशास्त्री, स्टेट्समैन के साथ-साथ देश के राष्ट्र निर्माता भी थे। (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || ).push({});

डॉ. विश्वेश्वरैया ने प्राकृतिक स्रोतों के जरिए घर-घर में पानी की आपूर्ति करवाई। साथ ही उन्होंने गंदे पानी की निकासी के लिए नालियों का निर्माण, बांध, ब्रिज और नहर का भी निर्माण कराया। इतना ही नहीं बल्कि डॉ. विश्वेश्वरैया ने औद्योगिक क्षेत्र में भी उल्लेखनीय कार्य किया है। खास बात यह है कि डॉ. विश्वेश्वरैया ने ऐसे समय में एशिया का सबसे बड़ा बांध बनाया था, जब देश में सीमेंट का उत्पादन भी नहीं होता था। उन्होंने किसानों के हित में भी काफी कार्य किया। साथ ही उन्होंने बांध से पानी के बहाव को रोकने के लिए स्टील के स्वचालित द्वार बनाए थे। डॉ. विश्वेश्वरैया ने सिंचाई के लिए भी ब्लॉक सिस्टम विकसित किया। उनके द्वारा किए गए कामों को अब तक इंजीनियरिंग का अद्भुत कारनामा माना जाता है।

डॉ. विश्वेश्वरैया का जन्म 15 सितंबर 1860 में कर्नाटक के चिक्कबल्लापुर जिले के मुद्देनाहल्ली गांव में हुआ था। डॉ. विश्वेश्वरैया ने मैसूर (कर्नाटक) राज्य के लिए इतना कुछ किया कि उन्हें 'फादर ऑफ मैसूर' कहा जाने लगा। साल 1905 में उन्हें ब्रिटिश शासन की ओर से 'कमांडर ऑफ द ऑर्डर ऑफ द इंडियन एंपायर' से सम्मानित किया गया। डॉ. विश्वेश्वरैया को साल 1955 में भारत रत्न से सम्मानित किया गया था। Read the full article
