In The Beginning

Pairing: Dean Winchester x Female Reader Word Count: 336 Warnings: A smidge of cursing. Author’s Note: Easing into the angst. Part one of the Never, My Love fic series.

The discordant drone of bar patrons dims as the band switches to a soft pop-rock song. Although they are sitting near the back of the bar, away from the main crowd, she keeps her volume to an angry hiss to not disturb those nearby but still make her point clear to the stubborn jackass sitting across from her.

“I’m not helpless. I had it under control until you barged in.”

“Bullshit!” he growls, empty beer bottle landing with a loud thud on polished wood. Noticing a few people glancing curiously in their direction, he drops a couple of decibels. “I had to stitch up your leg and reset your shoulder.”

Pushing her drink aside, she leans forward so he can distinctly hear her marked exasperation as she derides, “How many times have I done the same for you?” Dean’s expression twists with annoyance, and she shoots him a smug smile. “It’s been a helluva lot more.” 

A flicker of something she can’t pinpoint momentarily softens his demeanor but is swiftly replaced with an angry clench of his jaw. “And you give me shit about it every time.”

Shaking her head, she slides off the stool. “I’m done with this.”

Dean grabs her arm as she passes, tugging her to a halt. His grip is firm, but his voice wavers. “I- I could have lost you today.”

Ready to jerk free from the grasp of his thick, calloused fingers, the scathing retort meant to refute his claim dies on her lips, and her chest heaves with a gasp when she turns to face him. Everything he’s left unsaid glimmers in imploring jade depths, unfeigned emotion imprinted in the worry lines on his face and carried on hesitant breaths between parted lips. Dean’s gaze turns fearful and apologetic, and his hold loosens. So she quickly smiles before he looks away.

“Never, my love,” she confides, chorusing the lyrics echoing through the speakers. Grabbing the collar of his flannel, she pulls him to her for a hungry first kiss.

Quilted Portraits No. 2 of Dean Winchester and Sam Winchester

17” x 17” cotton fabric (primarily Cherrywood Fabrics)

Like my first portraits (x), these quilts use a technique called paper piecing, where you print the pattern on paper and then sew through both the paper and the fabric. This method allows for very precise piecing and tiny, tiny pieces of fabric. These quilts are even more detailed than the first ones. I kind of want to remake the first ones now.

I made them into a tote bag.

Check back in a few months for my next Supernatural quilt project; just about ready to start!

Like my first portraits (x) and second portraits (x) of Sam and Dean, these quilts use a technique called paper piecing, where you print the pattern on paper and then sew through both the paper and the fabric. This method allows for very precise piecing and tiny, tiny pieces of fabric.

I watched in awe as my #1 post take off like an exorcised demon, but I have to say that I am a bit disappointed that it wasn't one of my Dean/Jensen Thirsty Thursday or Divine Nine posts.😂

@mrswhozeewhatsis - Look, another Michelle! Michelle has her own writing along with being an AMAZING fic recommender. She often reblogs others works and there's something there for everyone!

@supernatural-imagine-oneshot - Okay, this blog hasn't been active in a long time but the stories here are all incredible. This blog in particular is a big reason for getting me into fanfic and wanting to write it.

@supernatural-jackles - I'll happily recommend Jen's entire catalogue for your Dean and Jensen loving heart. She's not around much these days but I never reader a bad fic from her and she handled writing about hard topics wonderfully.

@torn-and-frayed - Just go and do yourself a favor and read Steph's series Send The Pain Below right now. This series was one of my first forays into reading RPF and hot damn it doesn't dissapoint.

@kittenofdoomage - Rhi is pretty much on AO3 now but you can get to her stuff there. This is where I discovered ABO and fell in love! Iron Heart made my apocalyptic story loving heart so very happy and still does!

@campingmonkey - Elaina writes for not only multiple fandoms including SPN but she makes gifs too! Single handedly has saved me when I'm looking for the perfect gif but can't find it in existence. She's got another blog too @acklesmallville for all your Jason Teague needs!

@beaujensen - Because we all need more gifs of Beau Arlen in our lives

@justjensenanddean - The reason I get distracted on my timeline and forget to write sometimes lol. They got gifs, pics, keep up to date with news, cons, etc. and reblog other Jensen stuff too so yeah, this is one of my favorite blogs.

@zepskies - Zep is my new addiction. There's SPN stuff along with other shows Jensen's been in like The Boys and Big Sky. She does canon, she does AU and her writing is just damn good (aka this is the kind of writer that makes me want to step up my game). And I love how responsive she is to literally every comment, reblog, ask, etc. She sets the bar high for the rest of us!
