all my advice about using real athletes to learn drawing bodies beyond hard abs, and my particular pref being wrestlers, also applies to women btw. you can draw women who r strong and not an hourglass shape. fucking do it.

kris statlander, rhea ripley (look at her SHAPE), willow nightingale, ruby soho, these r just four off the top of my head that have obvious musculature and different body types. skye blue and julia hart have more slim cheerleader style bodies as well, i REALLY wanted to put emi sakura who is fucking STOUT (adoring) in this post but i couldn't find a good demonstrative pic, the list goes on

So earlier in art class today, someone drew a characters hands in their pockets and mentioned that hands are really like the ultimate end boss of art, and most of us wholeheartedly agreed. So then, our teacher went ahead and free handed like a handful of hands on the board, earning a woah from a couple of students. So the one from earlier mentioned how it barely took the teacher ten seconds to do what I can’t do in three hours. And you know what he responded?
“It didn’t take me ten seconds, it took me forty years.”
And you know, that stuck with me somehow. Because yeah. Drawing a hand didn’t take him fourth years. But learning and practicing to draw a hand in ten seconds did. And I think there’s something to learn there but it’s so warm and my brain is fried so I can’t formulate the actual morale of the lesson.

whenever you see a post on this website don't forget to ask yourself: why is op the worst human being that has ever walked upon the earth, how does this post target me specifically, and what are the hateful implications hidden between the lines ???

The last several weeks have been focused on what you're voting against with a vote for Biden.
I think it's important to know what you're voting for, and how one of the most far-left senators feels about it.

Saw that video with the cool old fridge and the first comment after the OP was ‘look what they took from us’ and my spidey senses started tingling. So I checked and it was not in fact an ironic deployment of the phrase; that person genuinely believes in all the related antisemitic conspiracy theories. And so does OP. And so do like. The next several commenters except for the last, who is just part of the trans witchy side of tumblr.
And I do wonder who was following whom for a post like that to break containment to people who so clearly do not believe anything OP does, but I also think its sort of an object lesson in how the ironic deployment of neonazi memes and related shithead phrases allows people who use them with sincerity to append those comments in plain sight without anyone in the subsequent reblog chain going ‘wait hey what the fuck.’

i think one of the most frustrating things about the “share pronouns in a circle” phenomenon, as someone who teaches, is it has been so entrenched in the “canon” of the “progressive toolkit” that when you reject it for very good reasons, you recieve pushback for not giving space for pronoun sharing, so you just end up doing it anyways. and it really ignores the way it makes a spectacle if there are only a handful of trans people in the room, or even worse, only one

Oh look, it seems everyone has been opted into the unfortunate "experiment" now. For everyone who has been blissfully using the old UI up until now, welcome to hell :)
Do you not like hell? Do you want to leave and crawl back up into the sunlight of the old UI? Well, have I got a link for you! A beautiful tumblr user (who is not me) has gone and fixed things beautifully for you already: https://github.com/enchanted-sword/dashboard-unfucker
You will need to have Tampermonkey installed on your browser of choice, and once that's done, just go to the github link above, and peruse the readme to install. And voila! You have your old dash back!
The authors of XKit Rewritten said during the experiments that at the time, since this was an "experiment" they weren't going to implement anything to revert to the old UI (although who knows if they'll do it now). And the dashboard unfucker has worked beautifully enough for me to where I genuinely couldn't tell if they had ended the experiment or not.

Even if you don't like generative models, this blog post is an amazing read. It also explains why Glaze and Nightshade aren't going to work on "local" models. People aren't training generative image models on their own personal computer. They're using Stable Diffusion and "fine tuning" it with LoRA (the math/stats people always make fun of CS people's sexy names, but I like this one). The UChicago people replied to a Twitter thread confirming that they didn't/don't expect Nightshade to work for LoRAs (someone put a screenshot somewhere else in the notes, and I didn't think to grab it. Maybe it was OP?).
If you know an image has had both or either applied, you can basically tell the model that the image is wrong and improve the model using the borked pictures. I think it is really cool that Max Woolf figured out how to do this in this particular case, but I think it should be made clear to non-ML people that augmenting/perturbing data is like... a foundational strategy to improving a model. Sometimes the augmentations are as simple as up-sampling classes that are underrepresented, but the popular ML libraries actually include functions to bork images to train image classifiers on (not in the same way as Glaze or Nightshade, but still).
i feel quite bad for people who are convinced nightshade and glaze are going to fix the balance of power in the art world because it really won't. they're quite useless and extremely easily circumvented, but trying to tell anyone this results in you getting shouted down. buddy i wish it worked too!
