I like the little determined smile Tails gives off at two separate points right before things get out of hand with Shadow, the first is the more obvious when the three land in Tokyo, and then the seven is more subtle when Sonic tells Shadow that they don't want to fight, he's just happy to be there

Tails is happy to be there, and also knows he's got two of the best and strongest brothers in the world to protect him.
