The Mezashi Jig took iCAST by storm last year. First developed by Mr Takahashi of Mustad it quickly spread throughout Europe to Asia. This year Mustad will release the US version. The difference? The JAW LOK Treble will be replaced with an Ultra-Point Treble. I was informed by Mustad this will be a better hook for the US market. I was afraid after successfully testing a few lures for another company a year ago that the trebles would tear apart the mouth. But I was pleasantly surprised to be able to safely remove the U.P. Treble with no torn tissue damage or making the fish bleed out. I removed some using my pliers but I risked using my fingers to show that these hook choices were the right ones. In less than 2hrs I could’ve filled a small cooler with Jacks. But I released all my catches as our environment couldn’t handle everyone to keep what they catch. We need to set a good example for our younger anglers to respect our resources. #mezashijig #mezashicastingjig #mustad #mustadfishing #mustadmezashi #mezashijigs https://www.instagram.com/p/CprI5QHrJ92/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Sinine käoking
Aconitum napellus L., Ranunculaceae* Aed-käoking, aidamehed, ingliking, kalevikübar, kassipätid, kingalill, raudkübar, tormikübar, tuiupätid Aconite, monkshood, wolfsbane
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sinine käoking on aedades ja elamute ümber kasvatatav mitmeaastane ilutaim.
Taim on mürgine.
Kirjeldus
Sinine käoking on aedades ja elamute ümber kasvatatav mitmeaastane ilutaim. Ta on 50-150cm kõrge rohttaim, tugeva naeritaolise lihaka juurikaga.
Vars on püstine, tugev, paljasvõi kaetud liibunud karvadega.
Lehed sõrmjagused, 5-7 osaga, piklike, lineaalsete, süstjate või tömpide tipmetega.
Õied on ebakorrapärased, violetsed, harvemini sinised, punakad, valjkad, lapilised; ülemine õieleht on kiiverjas, paaditaoline või poolkerajas, ülal kumerdunud, alumised õielehed on tömbid, enamasti süstjad. Õied moodustavad varre ladvas tiheda kobara.
Vili - ülalt avanev kukkus.
Kokkukasvanud (harva üksikud) juurmugulad on 2-6cm, harva kuni 10cm pikad, väljast tumepruunid, peaaegu mustad, seest hallikasvalged.
Õitseb juulist septembrini. Kasvatatakse Eesti NSV-s kõikjal.
Ravim
Sinine käoking kuulub mürgitse taimede hulka. Ravimina on kasutatud ta mugulataolisi juurikaid - tuber Avoniti - või nendest eraldatud toimeainet - alkaloidi akonitiini. Praegu sinist käokinga droognia ei kasutata.
Sisaldab alkaloide akontiniini, mesakontiini, hüpakoniini. Akoniini sisaldus on 0,18-3,0%, droogis peab see olema vähemalt 0,8%.
Toimed
Käokinga tarvitatakse raviks ainult arsti ettekirjutausel.
Kasutatakse alkoholleotisena välispidiselt radikuliidi, neuralgia ja reumatismi puhul.
Suure mürgisuse tõttu on kasutamine ohtlik.

*Aconitum napellus L. loetakse kollektiivliigiks ja on viimasel ajal jagatud hulgaks iseseisvateks liikideks. NSV Liidus, peamiselt Kesk-Aasias, Siberis ja Kaug-Idas, esineb üle kümne liigi. Meil aedades kultiveeritav sinine käoking on mitmesuguse päritoluga. Enamikus pärinub ta Kesk-Euroopast. Nõuab veel selgitamist, milliste liikidega on siin tegemist. Sel põhjusel on ta käesolevas väljaandes toodud ka kollektiivliigina.

Cruciferous means 'related to plants in the cabbage and mustard family.' It comes from the latin phrase meaning 'cross bearing.'
Cabbage plants, broccoli, mustad, bok choy, etc. all have flowers whose petals form a cross pattern. This was used as a distinguishing feature by botanists, who used the Lingua Franca of the day, Latin, to assign a category. Eventually the use for describing this plant family completely overwhelmed the literal meaning of 'cross bearing' and now the english word refers almost exclusively to the single plant family.
This sort of etymological transformation is pretty common for words in scientific contexts: Older languages make an observation in their language. Newer languages take the phrase and import it to refer to the observed entity, adding it to their lexicon as a far more specific meaning.
But your characters might not be cognizant of that fact. They likely lack the language knowledge of Latin and Greek and or the etymology knowledge to make the connection.
And, unless they deal with plants, they might not even know the word 'cruciferous' or that cabbages, broccoli, and mustard are all closely related.
well cruciferous did not end up meaning anything close to what i thought it meant
