“Do we have to go to this party?” It had been days since she’d seen her husband and it seemed that the two of them were falling into a pattern. He spent three days away from her, they spent three days alone at home to make up for it. They were becoming hermits. She knew that, and it would be good for them to go to the party, but that didn’t mean she wanted to share her husband with anyone else, even just to gaze upon. “Why on earth is she requesting we all bring food? Beyond fondue, I’m not that great in the kitchen. When you’re gone I live on take out and whatever Susan makes me because she pities my loneliness.”
